  1. I know the indies aren't paid attention to as much(especially deathmatch stuff), but I noticed something (subjectively in my opinion) surprisingly glaring in the data, at least from my end.

The current IWTV champion, Krule, is not in the data at all(despite his name being in the title history for the IWTV championship and the guy who he's the alter ego of being assigned as such). He should be set as an alter ego for Logan Creed and Logan needs a boost in both stats and popularity. Surprisingly too, the other character he played under the mask in MLW, Mads Kreuger is also not in the data either. Considering his current status on the indies and how much buzz he's been driving the past couple years, this omition is decently glaring. Especially since he worked for DPW last year too

Also in the same vein, Matt Tremont needs his current Killdozer alter ego added too.

Dying to know what this is :D

There's a multitude of these sorts of small little touches, but check WCCW for the one I'm talking about, someone very unexpected married into a famous family and is getting pushed off of it.

I also like how ECW basically was our WWE in a sense ITTL with Punk being Austin

Also one more question for @AboardTheArk, is Minoru Suzuki just not as big of a deal ITTL? Is he still considered the "rotten fruit" he was pre Suzuki-Gun?

Feel free to ask any questions on the Japan side of things! The answer will most probably be "I wasn't organized enough to look into this yet" but still. Many thanks to diamondium for letting me work on this and do some silly Battlarts wish fulfillment.

Joshi side lagging behind the mens' mostly because I have bigger gaps to fill in terms of active wrestlers I know of, but while I'm by no means an expert on the scene I have decent knowledge both of the current state and historically so what comes out of that process will probably be at least kind of fun.

Alright. Probably the top question I feel like most are going to have is this. What happened to Okada in 2018 that caused him to retire? I'm assuming serious injury. But that's a massive loss for NJPW. Least Nakamura didn't leave but I'm assuming Ibushi was slotted in as the "new ace" instead?

Thanks! Bear Country definitely is intended to be united like suggested & just slipped through the cracks there, I'll add a note to get them in the next update - if anyone wants in the meantime, they can feel free to unite Bear Country in ESW for their own version of the data.

Good. Figured that was the case.

  4. Looked through a bit, appreciate that my suggestions were taken wholeheartedly. All three of the promotions I talked about look great now!

Bear Country are still separated though contractually, unless that is your intent, you may wanna go look at that again.

Also there was one thing I saw that really made me lose it in both a comedic and in a enjoyment sort of way that only an alternate timeline can give you. Don't want to spoil it for people though so I won't talk about it openly. But you'll know once you see it.

I would assume that if a project is considered abandonware and someone takes over the project, then the original creator should still be required to be credited for their contributions.

    I agree with this.

Technically, if someone starts the work on it, they should still be credited.

I'm not a full on mod creator and have only helped in small aspects on some mods, however I want to give my input. I think this is a great idea.

As a fan of some thing like the 9000k verse. The fact someone has brought that back for 2020 after it being abandoned for a decade due to its original creator not wanting to really do this anymore/being too busy is a great thing and should be embraced.

I also think that if the mod creator announces publicly they are taking a break, that should omit the potential for said mod to reach "abandonware" status. There needs to be a clear indicator between "mod creator dropped off the face of the earth" and "mod creator is taking a mental health break and may be gone for like a month or two"

Good notes for sure, insight appreciated.

Regarding the CS stuff - interestingly, I believe @eriatarka , who has been doing some Canada work, was looking to position the newly-founded MLW as being the canadian company most influenced by TNA/Impact, based on the Scott D'Amore influence, so if that goes through then CS would definitely occupy a more traditional niche.

Good to know on the CS/MLW stuff. That's also a fair way to look at things too.

Hey folks, just fielding some thoughts on a couple bigger potential changes to the mod that I'm floating (these might not make the first update, but could be a focus on the one after), figure I'd open up discussion on these topics to the public.

    First, the bigger one:

This originally comes as a suggestion from eriatarka and I personally quite like the concept - what do people think about fusing NWA:EW and RFP in this database? Essentially the history is pretty similar, RFP faces nonstop struggles and scandals throughout the 2010s - instead of Khan opening a new promotion, he buys out RFP and rebrands it. Come the collapse of the NWA, it is still in the same position except with RFP at the 'head' of it rather than NWA:EW.

It fits thematically, with IRL Khan's fanboying of WCW and Flair, with RFP being a WCW mirror and the Flair connections being obvious, so it stands to reason he'd love the opportunity to run his childhood favorite company. RFP has historically been seen as the 'home company' of the NWA in this universe, so keeping the weakened NWA alive under RFP is more in-line with the history of the mod. There's definite merit to all of that.

Downsides are that it is, of course, one less company in the mod to play, and I like the idea of there being a 'fallen giant' promotion to play as in the data which RFP was previously taking the role of. I think the pros outweigh those cons by a sizeable margin, but am curious on people's thoughts.

Specific questions I'm curious about regarding the above:

    • Do people like the above idea in concept as a change to make in the data and lore?
    • If this scenario goes through, what do people like as the name of the re-branded RFP?
      • Options include:
        • Rising Force Promotions (or another name that utilizes the same letters, so as to keep it's 'brand' while dumping association with Flair, same name as it currently is)
        • NWA: Elite Wrestling (an option to just utilize the branding that is more on-the-nose with the real-world mirror - assuming they go more 'full rebrand')
        • National Wrestling Alliance (just going NWA - assuming it's RFP until the collapse, then the rebrand happens then, with the company assuming the branding of the NWA as it's own)
        • Other (I'm sure others have ideas that work better)

    Second discussion point:

I've heard from a couple people actually, that they think Calgary Stampede is not a fitting name for a company that has been at fully national prominence for so long. I've for a long time had the same thought that it seems odd to have such a regionally specific name for a company that is, at this point, the promotion for Canada, but I personally didn't want to ruffle feathers on that front in case it is just me that thought that until I started hearing similar positions from others.

With that said, the questions are as follows:

    • Would you prefer Calgary Stampede rebrand to something more fitting of a national promotion for Canada or do you prefer the charm of it as it currently is?
    • If it rebranded, what do you have in mind for new names? The following are the options currently in the running:
      • Canadian Stampede (an obvious but minor rebrand which doesn't shake things up too much)
      • Stampede Wrestling (borrowing from the IRL naming of the company it's based off of)
      • Other (Again, I'm sure others have better ideas than myself)

Looking at how the rosters look now, a fusion of RFP and NWA:EW sounds perfect. In terms of a name, I say we call it NWA:Elite Wrestling moniker, if the goal is to completely disregard Ric from its history (I assume he was worse than the allegations state in this timeline). It's best to drop the RFP lettering entirely. Especially since David is likely going to be kicked to the wayside too. There's a ton of IRL AEW people in RFP, so putting them together makes sense. (Plus having Anderson and Gallows and The Young Bucks on the same roster is pretty based even if Bullet Club didn't exist ITTL)

On the second thing. I feel like Stampede as a whole should somewhat parallel Modern TNA/Impact just with a more Canadian flair.
So while my first choice is Canadian Stampede, my second choice for a rename is going completely out of bounds and calling it Shockwave Wrestling (like how TNA changed it's name to Impact Wrestling, taking the name of their program and going with that, though if we went that direction, I'd suggest taking the company out of the hands of the Harts and have a TV conglomerate buy it like Anthem is to TNA now)

To say I’m extremely excited for the 2026 update would be an understatement. My favorite part about the Cornellverse and the many takes on it is the “where are they now” aspect of it. I can’t wait to see which promotions are no more, which ones have thrived, and which wrestlers have retired or passed away. Not to mention the successes and failures of some of the newer guys out there and where they end up!

This, plus a few of the characters (including ones I've submitted) from the Future Workers packs are deeper into their careers at this point so It's nice to see the status of your creations.

Great, love that. If you're going LU vibes for one of NWA Motor City or Project X, I can help with sticking masks on people / alts in a Ricochet / Prince Puma kind of way. I'd love to see Erick Redbeard and Eli Knight "YEAH" in masks!!

I'll take a look at TWE. Sports Entertainment is kind of my 'thing' with all my diaries... so I'll try and create some fun lore in there.

Like Chikbot, I'll start a notebook and detail everything I do and send it to you.

As a side note, I think if we try and leave the rosters as they are (no signings), and just create bios, characters, gimmicks, maybe tweak popularity and skills as we go, that's probably the best way to handle this.

I sent my ideas. Don't worry about masking people because the rosters should be changing. As much as I like him, Redbeard isn't going to be employed once we are done here if all goes to plan.

Sounds good! That would be wonderful! Pretty much any company is free for somebody to take a swing at - a smaller company there's a higher chance of everything going in without tweaks, a big company might be a bit more collaborative to ensure it all fits within the overall vision

I actually am looking under the hood a bit too myself, obviously. I noticed that NWA:Motor City and Project X have probably a bit too much crossover at least in my opinion. I'd love to take them both for a spin. Considering everything that's sort of happened in that sort of realm in recent years, Project X feels pretty undercooked(IMO I feel like it'd benefit from some slight LU vibes ontop of the WSX/XPW hybrid it is already) and while having a similar sort of product, NWA:MC should have more to stand out about it than just being "Project X but in Michigan".

Also, I'm a huge deathmatch fan, so, while idk if you want someone to handle 3 companies at once, I'd also love to try and give CZP the update it needs too. Mind you, my plans in that regard are very "rebrand"y.

I already have a notepad out and writing my "pitches" if you so desire to read them.

I don't disagree with any of that. There's lots of oversights like that, and I appreciate all of them being pointed out so the next version can be improved.

At the end of the day, I figure it's better to release a work in progress and chip away at it rather than add to the endless pile of mods that never release. If somebody isn't happy with the state of it, I perfectly get that and that's no problem, I take no offense to that as I qualified from the get-go that I hold no delusions that the details match the heavy hitter mods by more experienced modmakers out there. Maybe it gets there one day, maybe it doesn't.

I figure it's better to exist imperfectly than to not exist at all when it comes to mods. That way it's at least out there and freeware if down the line anybody ever wants to use parts of it, even if this one doesn't get to a finished state. (which I still fully intend it to to eventually get to, for the record)

Regarding Benoit though, the situation never happened in this universe but for obvious reasons I'm personally not comfortable with him being an active presence in the mod. So the general lore for him is nothing special since the last idom. He was up there in age even then so he called it a career in the early 2010s and is quietly out of the business.

I realized after I wrote what I did I potentially came off as a bit strong to someone who I know is only working on their first database. I apologize if I came off as rude as that was completely unnecessary. I'm glad you understand my points though.

As far as Benoit goes, I feel like he was also set as "Left The Business" in iDom 2015 too  but I could be wrong so that's just you being consistent. As I said, totally get it. Assume that's why Woman/Nancy is not even appearing in the database at all too. Again, 100% respect.

In regards to controversial wrestling events too. I know you have a guy handling Japan, but the likelihood of Hana Kimura appearing on Terrace House and thus the spiraling of events that lead to her death seem a fair bit lower in this timeline, at least in my opinion. Again, if this is another "I just don't wanna touch that". I get it. But I feel a lot of the positives of iDom were avoiding "tragedy" as it were and creating a bit of a happier world. I mean, Art Barr, Owen, Eddie and a bunch of other wrestlers are still alive. I feel similarly in regards to Hayabusa being dead ITTL too,. FMW not existing means he probably does not break his neck off a botch which means his youngish death doesn't happen. At least, these are my thoughts.

this is an interesting project, and I've been wanting to play a modern alt history mod for a while. I'm a newer player so I'm not familiar with the original concept/alt universe, but you seem to have put an impressive amount of work into the world economy and balance already.

that said I think the promotions could still use a bit of work: product-wise (not enough variation), roster-wise, and in terms of providing interesting hypotheticals. For example, the idea of a Tony Khan promotion in this world that closely resembles the real life AEW seems a little unadventurous. In a world with no PWG, no ROH, no Bullet Club merch in Hot Topic, and a wrestling market that's heavily catered to all regions and interests, why would Tony build an entirely new promotion in 2019 around the Young Bucks and their friends that's geared toward internet fans? Why is it in the southeast - what if Shahid Khan never purchased the Jaguars and Tony ran his promotion out of Illinois? There are all sorts of different angles you can take.

I agree in this case, like I understand it's an "alpha". But it feels kind of shallow and bland.

If AWA plays like WCCW plays like MCW plays like NWA:AA plays like WCW plays like...and so on and so forth(just using this as an example). There's nothing really fun to get out of the mod because once you've played one company, you've basically played them all beyond the names you have at the start. I understand you're not a creative person but I feel like there's something golden here. I always loved this scenario and want to see it brought into the modern age, however I want to see it done with the care and love it deserves. Things like lore are important like @The Lloyd said too where using organic bios isn't really going to work. Like what happened to the revived Horsemen in RFP? Why are the Colons all singles stars and not teaming in Florida? The finer details matter.

Also unrelated, but the Von Erich's not being in WCCW is weird to me, even if the family doesn't own it anymore, it's still their grand-dad's old company. I'm sure the fans in Texas would want them there, even if they were undercarders. Just how Lacey was there in previous versions of iDom.

Also I know that this was in the previous iteration, but what's the lore to Benoit not being in the wrestling industry anymore yet still alive? Did "the event" still happen except he didn't do it to himself and he's now in prison? Like I know the obvious BTS reason of not wanting to use him.

And thanks to those as well! I'll note those to include in the next update as well.

A couple of your assumptions lore-wise were correct there.

Street prophets never really became a thing in this timeline, so removing their tag team is a fix which I'll definitely do up. Jeff/Matt being separated was definitely due to lore reasons, Jeff bouncing around a bit post-TWE and Matt finding a stable home in MCW. I think they had a stretch together in there and won some titles but as of this moment are off doing their own things. Sami Zayn is indeed intentionally unmasked, and kept the Sami Zayn name more for keeping him recognizable to players. I've floated some other names for him for the next release, but remain undecided there (suggestions welcome).

I think Matt Bloom was put in TWE due to him having moved to TWE in TheWho87's 2015 iDOM mod, which although isn't canon (I've got a few conflicts with that one in my title histories but where there's no conflicts it's safe to assume it's semi-canon for this particular timeline of it), I'm using as inspiration for how some people have moved around over the years. I figured he probably retired there and stuck around.

Cool cool, yeah, I figured some of the things I was noticing were intentional but I just wanted to make sure..

I haven't played IDOM 2015 in a fair bit so those bits will go over my head.

Also was just about to add this before you replied, but Private Party is also separated with Isiah being in ESW and Marq Quen in Project X.

Also Alex Wright(who trained a few wrestlers, notable Adrian Severe/Fabian Aichner/Giovanni Vinci) and Charlie Dempsey/Bailey Regal and are completely missing from the data.
The latter could be excusable with the timeline changes but the former I would say less so.

  14. 1 hour ago, diamondium said:

Noted, thanks! Much of the teams were mass-imported from the real world mod, so that's one area that will definitely be rough around the edges. Those particular ones will be adjusted for the next release, and I'll add it to the list to take a pass over teams in general for stuff like that.

If I notice any other wacky team situations or anything else weird, I will let you know.

Edit: Just standard contract weirdness, but Zach Gibson is in Chikara without James Drake also JD Drake is in UEW without Anthony Henry

I also saw that the Street Profits were separated but I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not. Similarly the Hardys are seperated but again, given Jeff...being well Jeff, maybe his problems weren't as easily rectified and that's why he's in CZP

Also, last time the iDom-verse was checked in on, Sami Zayn was still El Generico, I'm assuming lore wise something happened when he was in CS where like OTL he was told to lose the mask?
Also another lore related question, why is Matt Bloom, who was mainly an ECW guy in this timeline as Baldo the Destroyer, working as a road agent in TWE? You figure he would've stayed in ECW unless TWE got to him in the intervening years like his Tensai run

Also too, Misterioso Jr. is in the data twice

  15. Nvm it was originally as I thought, some guys have contractual issues unless there's lore reasons why certain teams are just not together.

Ross Von Erich is in NWA:AA and Marshall is in AWA but yet it says they still team together

Dezmond Xavier is in WCW but it still says him and Wentz team together as the Rascalz

Creed/Kasper Brothers are also separated too for some reason

Edit to my full edit: Yeah, this is the problem with using organic bios. You really shouldn't have teams active if you know you're not going to actually team them up at the start because it puts that info in the bio.

Alexis Lee Littlefeather is basically Trish Stratus. She was hired for her looks, but worked really hard and became a respected in-ring worker.

I think she's a slightly bit more on the nose fusion of Trish and Mickie James. It's the backstory of improving beyond sex appeal and becoming a solid worker combined with a Native heritage and the name Alexis
