  1. Yeah, that's odd. Plus if Shane already has leverage over Vince, why is Shane agreeing to a match? But that's wrestling. I'm willing to overlook some stuff like that. What's starting to bother me a little bit, though, is that it seems like either Shane beats the Undertaker at WrestleMania, which is practically sacrilegious, or the story of Shane coming back and taking over Raw is dead before it begins. Neither one of those seems good to me. Maybe there's a way they can creatively book a third option where Shane gets control but doesn't beat Taker at WM, but I'm not holding my breath.
  2. Shane has to win. Just has to. If he's one-and-done in this story, it would be the dumbest thing in the history of wrestling. The babyface hero returning after years to take control back from the evil authority and failing at the biggest event of the year? That'd be ridiculous. So yeah, he's probably going to lose. Damn it.
  3. It's crazy that people legitimately believe a PPV with a couple head-scratching booking decisions is an above average WWE PPV nowadays. And I'm not even saying they're wrong. It might honestly be above average for a WWE PPV at this point. To continue to try and get Reigns over as the face of the company (hey, maybe the third year of doing this will be the charm), they booked him in a match with two more popular babyfaces. Then they had him eat a kimura and three chair shots before immediately hitting the spear and winning. How did the WWE possibly think that would work with the fans? It's so incredibly tone-deaf it's unbelievable. The Wyatts losing was nearly just as bad. And why was there no followup to the Wyatts and Lesnar from the Royal Rumble? And it looks like Ryback injured Harper. The most overrated big man just injured the most underrated big man just weeks before WrestleMania. Awesome. The Edge & Christian segment was confusing. They were antagonizing the New Day, then they were joking with them at the expense of the League of Nations? And it served no purpose other than a 10-minute commercial for E&C's new show. And that R-Truth/Axel segment would have been disappointing for Raw, let alone a PPV. Other than that, not bad.
  4. I think it's interesting that the best thing that can be said about the Rumble/presumptive WM main event is that it "makes sense". Personally, yeah, I think it makes sense. But I could not possibly care less about it. I'm honestly probably not going to watch Raw the next couple months because I just don't care to see Roman chase another Authority champion, especially when that champion is HHH, and that's going to be what at least 75% of the focus of Raw will be. And while I will watch WM because it's WM, I could actually see turning it off before the end. There's just no drama in a Reigns/HHH match especially when there's no MitB in play. HHH will hit his five moves, Reings will hit his five moves, they'll throw a lot of punches in between, and Reigns will go over. But at least it makes sense. So they've got that going for them.

I think that would look incredible. Thanks!</p>
  6. You'll have to set up a new database. I think my file is TVPlatAwards. You can then go into and edit any other database you want and import the 'End of Year' records from the TVPlatAwards database (or whatever you call the database). And as far as I know there's no way to get these into a current save. New saves only.
  7. I spent some time adding awards history to my Thunderverse saves and I figured I'd share. I've got 20 years total of Wrestler of the Year, Tag Team, Veteran, Young Wrestler, Female Wrestler, Manager, Announcer, Color Commentator, and Referee. I tried to be as accurate and logical as possible, matching awards up with long title reigns, runs in major promotions, etc. Excel Spreadsheet Default August 2014 Database w/ Awards
  8. Does anyone have the Thunderverse 2013 data? The Sendspace link in the old thread is no longer valid.
  9. I just finished up 2014 playing as PWI. I split my roster into two brands. The Worldwide brand is the bigger guys and has the main show and the World Heavyweight Championship, Tag Team Championship, and the North American Championship. The Super-X brand is for the smaller guys and has the Super-X Championship and the Trios Championship. Here are my champs: World Heavyweight Champion - "Mean" Mark Taylor (The Ghost Rider) I've got the Ghost Rider doing an American Bad Ass gimmick as the leader of the Renegade Motorcycle Club. He just took the belt off of Eli Morton and is set to main event Night of Glory against Roscoe Carmine. Tag Team Champions - Dead or Alive The Van Holt Brothers had the titles for a while, but Dead or Alive, also members of the Renegade Motorcycle Club along with Chad Zuma, have been red hot. North American Champion - Seven (Seven Brandt) Another case of going with the hot hand. He's getting over nicely. I'm about to debut Fargo Korben and Ed Brody (Hollywood Giant) to start a Wyatt Family-esque stable, and I'll probably put Seven with them. Super-X Champion - Richie Santana Jr. My user character. I've been feuding with Ryan Doherty and Tyler Mercury mostly, though Furosuto is starting to really get over. I just signed Jarid Hart, who at least has reconciled with Scott Hart, and he'll enter the title picture as well, and El Icono is always on the verge. Trios Champions - Kris Phoenix, Cameron Cody, and Evan Kuja They just took the belts off Lenny Rhodes and the Paros. I've also aligned El Estandar with The Slo-Mo Dojo to create a comedy team to have in the mix. My PWI is heavy on stables and managers. Besides the aforementioned Renegade Motorcycle Club managed by Dakota Williams, here's what the others are: The Lothario Standard Guy Lothario - Manager Eli Morton Tyler Errol (Wilson Hancock) The Van Holt Brothers Ryan Doherty The British Hart Family Terry Thunder - Manager Scott Hart Nick Hart James Gilmour-Hart Clayton Bennett Kosmo Hart Jarid Hart Kowalski's Clients Beautiful Bobby - Manager Marco De Francesco Jason Reed Takashi (Go Takashi) Omura Tyler Mercury I'm also about to debut a stable led by Deshawn Banks consisting of Silva Dolla, VIP, Ricky Fyre, Dwayne Kai (Mr. Hawaii) and Zeke King to feud with the British Hart Family. Notable lone wolves include Sebastian Curtis, Roscoe Carmine, and Richie Santana Jr. I don't have any icons yet, but "Mean" Mark Taylor, Dead or Alive, Roscoe Carmine, and Scott Hart are all considered huge stars. Notable award winners included Kenta Sonata for Wrestler and Match of the Year, The Van Holt Brothers for Tag Team of the Year, Lenny Rhodes for Young Wrestler, Drake Richards for Veteran, PWI for Company, and PWI Road to Glory for Event.
  10. I started up a game as PWI. I don't like Shane Allman or his vision, so I made up a story that his increasing irratibility and hostility towards sports entertainment and the Harts and whatnot was actually a result of health problems, which forced him to sell the company to my user character, Arafat somethingsomethingsomething (one of the rich Middle-Eastern dudes). As part of this I retconned Nick Hart leaving the company, since I took over before that happened. My plan is to make PWI a smidgen more flashy and modern. I moved mainstream and modern up one step in the product and realism and pure down one step. Not a drastic change, but enough of one. My focus is on charismatic, entertaining guys that can put a match together and wrestle. Someone like Jean-Claude Giroux, who I am going to break the bank for when his contract expires in the next couple months. I've structured the company into three main divisions based on the three main championships, the World Heavyweight Championship, the Super Junior X Championship, and the Tag Team Championship. My main show is Primetime, and the B-show is Genesis, which will eventually contain the secondary titles for those three divisions. The top 8-10ish in each division are on Primetime, while the rest are on Genesis. For the first month I've been continuing the storyline surrounding The Lothario Standard, except Eli Morton and Ryan Doherty are now joined by The Van Holt Brothers. Morton defended his title against Sebastian Curtis at the PPV, getting a tainted win after Curtis, who was booked to look strong, took a crazy bump. Curtis lost 2 points of pop but Morton gained about 11 and the match was still rated a 90. I'm about to debut Terry Thunder as the man to lead his Team Thunder against the Lothario Standard. Curtis will definitely be a member of Team Thunder, but I'm not sure who else will be. The rest of the World Heavyweight picture consists of Roscoe Carmine, Scott Hart, "Mean" Mark Taylor (The Ghost Rider in a Taker-esque ABA gimmick; unfortunately on time decline), and Marco de Francesco. The Super Junior X division consists of Ryan Doherty (champ), Tyler Mercury, Kosmo Hart, El Icono, Furosuto, and Super Tiger. My tag division is absurd right now. Nick Hart and James Gilmour-Hart are the champs with the Van Holts hot on their heels. Lying in wait are Dead or Alive, Enemies of the State, The Paros (Tyler Mercury turned on Jay in order to pursue the Super Junior X title, and the Paros have good chemistry in my game), the Bollywood Knights, and Corn-Fried Lucha. Besides JCG, contracts expiring in the next 4 months include Silva Dolla and #Trending. I'm planning on putting the three of them into a heel DX-esque stable with Zeke King to feud with the Hart Family. Kato and Goto's contracts are also close to expiring, and I'm planning on going nuts for them because they'll fit perfectly in my tag division while also being able to lose well to the top Super Junior X guys.
  11. There's some notable nuance you're missing. This might be a cop out, but I don't really want to go into it, because I just don't think it'll go anywhere, but I did want to point out the situation isn't quite as succinctly summarized as you tried to make it.
  12. Quit being a jackass, like I often am. Including yourself in an insult usually doesn't make it any less insulting to the other person. And yeah, it was an insult. It was a mild way to dismiss him, like saying to someone "You're not my mom!" or "Oh, aren't you a know-it-all?" Like I said before, relatively harmless, which is why it's so odd you're being all weird about it. But whatever. This is about as far as I want to go with this.
  13. Don't try and re-define what you said. Everyone knows what you said and what you meant. It wasn't cryptic. It was a relatively harmless little insult the type of which everyone's heard since childhood. So the fact that you're going to the trouble of trying to twist it into something different is baffling. So...why do you want steroids in sports then?
  14. Not really, but whatever. I'm not sure how much mileage an entertainment product gets out of disappointing people. Considering the WWE's ratings and PPV buys, I'm going to say they're probably not an exception to the rule. And if the WWE can't create effective villains in their product without genuinely disappointing people, I don't think that speaks too highly of their creative abilities. It's good to hope, I suppose. Despite how much I've hoped otherwise, I just don't think the product is very good right now. I think they've got a ton of talented workers, but the people in charge are just killing the product. And considering I'm going to be starting a new job that will having me working nights for the foreseeable future, I doubt I'm going to go to the trouble of finding ways of keeping up with the product.
  15. This is just wrong. There's no evidence to conclude that steroids had anything to do with what happened. There's a lot of evidence that suggests it. "Preclinical, clinical, and anecdotal reports suggest that steroids may contribute to psychiatric dysfunction. Research shows that abuse of anabolic steroids may lead to aggression and other adverse effects.1 For example, although many users report feeling good about themselves while on anabolic steroids, extreme mood swings can also occur, including manic-like symptoms that could lead to violence.2 Researchers have also observed that users may suffer from paranoid jealousy, extreme irritability, delusions, and impaired judgment stemming from feelings of invincibility." In addition: "One of the most dangerous withdrawal symptoms is depression— when persistent, it can sometimes lead to suicide attempts." Now add in the fact that Benoit had elevated levels of testosterone at the time of his death and anabolic steroids in his house, and there's a lot of evidence that suggests a connection. Again, nothing conclusive can be drawn from this. And really, nothing needs to. Whether steroids played a role in what Benoit did or not, we know that steroids can have some nasty consequences. Why anyone would want professional athletes, some of the most competitive people in the world, people whose careers and livelihoods depend on their performance, why anyone would want them to have legal access to something as potentially dangerous as steroids is madness.
  16. It affects me because I'd rather not see people senselessly risk their well-being. And when careers and livelihoods are at stake, you can guarantee that there would be fighters who would abuse steroids, and there would be consequences to that. I'd rather not see a sport I enjoy mired down in fallout from those consequences, both in terms of the health of the sport and the health of the competitors. There's a lot of risk for little, if any, reward. Which is why, most likely, the entire civilized world has determined it's a terrible idea to allow steroids in sports.
  17. Yeah, it's not like that's ever been a horrible idea.
  18. I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to use Bryan as an underdog. That role makes a lot more sense for Zack Ryder. Goofy guy, fans love him, no discernible talent, him being an underdog makes sense. Bryan, on the other hand, has very little fan support and has been booked, at times, as having legitimate submission ability. It's a weird dichotomy to try and portray Bryan as both a submission master and a fluky underdog who can barely beat a guy holding a demonstrably inferior title. That's why I think his title reign is not gonna last long. The WWE doesn't know what they want him to be, and as such, they're not giving fans good reasons to get behind him. And, of course, when fans fail to get behind him enough, the WWE will blame Bryan and take the title off him and possibly shuffle him down to a Swaggerian level of wrestling hell.
  19. I think you guys are painting with too broad of a brush. Sure, there's some people who are genuinely angry at Jericho. But there's a lot of people who aren't angry but disappointed that the return wasn't more interesting or entertaining. But whatever, people have different opinions. It would be cool, though, if people could express those opinions without denigrating others. Having a different opinion doesn't make someone a smark or not smart or a little Jimmy that likes hollow, generic crap.
  20. A couple other thoughts: -I think Daniel Bryan's title reign is already perilously close to being dead in the water. He gets dominated by Cody Rhodes and only manages to beat him with a small package? And then celebrates like he just won the Olympics? That, combined with the way he's been unwilling to physically get involved with Mark Henry, instead distracting him with the belt, doesn't bode well. It makes Bryan look weak. Hopefully Big Show turns heel on him. -Kinda crazy that the well-hyped Punk/Ziggler match opened the second hour while the generic six-man tag match made that night got the main event slot. I'd say the odds of Cena winning the title at Elimination Chamber are around 50% right now. -Poor Brodus Clay. He's been turned into a running joke. His debut seriously needs some oomph behind it now. -Poor Eve. She continues to take big bumps in divas matches, despite the fact that the WWE obviously doesn't care about the division, and most of the women she's wrestling against are terrible. Seriously, that Bella botched a small package.
  21. Anyway, I'll say that I was disappointed by the Jericho segment. Not because I thought it was bad necessarily, but more because I thought it could have been much better. I did love the Kane stuff, though. I'm a big fan when they go batshit insane with Kane or Taker because me and one of my buddies love to joke about it. There's ways they could seriously pull off the silly stuff, but screaming "he's dragging him to the abyss" isn't one.
  22. Seriously? Just on a quick skim, there's people calling others who disagreed with them 'fanboys', 'marks', 'geeks', and 'dorks', and that's not to mention at least a half-dozen other snide disparagements. If you think that's civil, you have a really messed up standard for civil discussions.
  23. They've been asking questions for months now, though. That's where I think the big disconnect is. If tonight was the start of the angle, sure. But it's not. There's been months of hype videos leading up to this. It's not unreasonable for people to expect some sort of satisfying payoff on the date these videos have been mentioning. Some explanation, some start of a feud, something. Instead, like you said, there's mostly just more questions. And I don't think people should be surprised if others are disappointed by that, especially with the WWE's track record of resolving the questions they ask in these sorts of angles.
  24. I can't believe how many people here are apparently incapable of discussing opinions without being total dicks to each other.
