Huh, I didn't notice the new TCW events (and usually TCW is the first or second company I play!).
I'll add those to the top of the to-do list... which means they'll get done sometime in the next two to three... hundred weeks.

<p>The game could eliminate the "ugly person with high pop" getting good ratings in Sex Appeal angle roles by capping the rating calculation used at their actual Sex Appeal.</p><p> </p><p>
For example: Somene with 80 SA and 40 Pop would be rated at 52 ((80x0.3=24)+(40x0.7=28)), but someone with 40 SA and 80 pop would be capped at 40 instead of getting the calculated 68 ((40x0.3=12)+(80x0.7=56)).</p><p> </p><p>
For the record, if you for some reason <em>wanted </em>to run a comedy segment where an unattractive character parades around in a bikini, that should be rated on Charisma rather than Sex Appeal.</p><p> </p><p>
I'd also like to point out that the rating for a Sex Appeal angle is not a measure of how "sexy" it was, but rather a rating of how much the audience cared about the segment. My personal experience/observation/opinion is that most wrestling fans don't get all that worked up about random sexiness in their wrestling shows. That doesn't mean they hate them or don't enjoy seeing attractive women (or men), but that they're not particularly engaged. Unless it's someone who's already popular or who's bringing other entertainment skills into the mix.</p><p> </p><p>
Having written that last line, I'm wondering if Charisma should be factored into the calculation for Sex Appeal angle roles.</p><p> </p><p>
All that being said, I'd personally like to see the calculations for both Sex Appeal and Menace roles bumped to 40/60*. Given the other limits and penalties applied to such angle roles, I don't think that would be out of line.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>
*EDIT: Edited to clarify I meant 40 SA/Menace, 60 Pop. Not the other way around. I believe they were both 60/40 in 2016, so this is still a nerf.</p>

I think Exclusive Written is the way to justify and avoid your roster to get poached by USPW.
Yes, for your top guys, and anyone you'd miss from your midcard. Basically anyone who's in danger of getting poached. But there's about a third of CWA's roster that isn't going anywhere, won't be used more than once or twice a month, and could benefit from some outside bookings (remember they can do independent shows now if they're non-exclusive). If they show potential, then you can lock them up. Until then, you're overpaying.

All your points are valid but from what I recall, didn't CGC have the bulk of the "young talent" that could be pushed to the top (Aaron Knight, Christian Price, etc)? Both CGC and NOTBPW were really heavy on DeColt/Stone/McFly use, almost to the exclusion of all else. With a more Sports Entertainment product, those young turks become a lot more valuable because they don't need to have the levels of in-ring skill that NOTBPW's product required. You can have Robin DaLay as an upper midcarder and pushed strongly because he doesn't need to be protected as much. I think that was the key to the merger. NOTBPW's product made it difficult to replace the old hands (Jeremy, Dan Jr) because their replacements needed to be almost as good as the people they're replacing (and that's not realistic).
I think the event names may have been a result of the product change. CGC's events are more evocative of Sports Entertainment than NOTBPW's were. The tournament though is pretty dumb. Should've kept the Henson naming. Especially since both George and Dan Sr were friends with Ed.

Also, NOTBPW had some goofy event names.
I'm still baffled about the Ed Henson tournament, though. Presumably CWA owns all of both companies trademarks and titles. Why not continue the prestigious tournament?

Finally got a chance to look through the company a bit. First thought: Why is everyone on Exclusive Written contracts? Does Adrian still think he's playing TEW2016? Get the undercarder on non-exclusive per-show deals (since most of them you're only going to use once or twice a month) and let them get some experience on the indies.
For a real world example, look at AEW. Even their top guys are allowed to work elsewhere. Outside of WWE, I think non-excusive is going to become the new norm. The C-Verse should start reflecting that (outside of USPW and maybe SWF who should still emulate WWE practices).

I think it's a refreshing change from earlier editions of the game where managers couldn't get over at all unless they moonlit as colour commentators.

Maybe just set a flat starting value for Psychology that everyone has to use. Maybe 50, which is really good for an 18-year-old rookie but still plausible.
I'd suggest having everyone start with 75 in Star Quality as well. Like Psychology it's so much more important than everything else that there's no way to balance it.
I'd also set all potential to Excellent. I don't see the value in having a challenge fail due to randomly-generated caps.
On the flip side, I'd ban Prodigy. Or as an alternative, give everyone prodigy but lower the starting skill values from whatever they were going to be.

Given the relative status of NOTBPW vs CGC in 2016, it's surprising that CWA seems to heavily favour the latter*. If you didn't know better, you'd think that CGC had been the more dominant and succesful partner going into the merger.
Also, why are they so aggressively shedding their histories? I mean, I kind of get why they'd take the DeColt name off the Wrestlefestival (although I personally would have kept it), but why abandon the prestigous lineage of the Ed Henson tournament if you're still going to be running an annual tag team tournament?
* It seems like ex-CGC guys are dominating the title scenes, and most of the retained event names are from CGC.

Is no one else having trouble with the tiny fonts? I can't read the worker stats without squinting.
I know it takes time to get used to UI changes, but my initial reaction to the presentation is very negative. Bad enough that I'm considering not purchasing and playing the game.
I'm also not a fan of pre-set products.

<p>The two companies I'm most curious about are CGC and SWF. While any company may rise or fall or be significantly changed in 2020 due to unforseen circumstances, those two are almost required by their situations to be shaken up in some way.</p><p> </p><p>
I'll start with CGC. There's no way the company rebounds without a change in ownership and a major new talent (and the latter can't happen without the former as no game-changing star would continue to work for Alex). So here's two possible situations:</p><p> </p><p>
Scenerio One ("the good one"): Steve DeColt returns to CGC as its saviour after Alex drinks himself to death (or at least out of the business). While he's too old to save the company as a wrestler, he'd make a <em>fantastic</em> authority figure and occasional "legend" worker. Possibly he brings over some friends from NOTB to revitalize the roster. The company won't have recovered all the way to 2013 levels, but there will be optimism and potential for growth.</p><p> </p><p>
Scenario Two ("the bad one"): The DeColts finally go full Von Erich and embrace further tragedy. Ricky dies of an overdose or in a car crash. Alex drinks himself to oblivion (as above), and only Jack is left, a sad, lonely man running a sad dying shell of CGC that can barely hold on to Regional (or whatever the new equivalent is called) size.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>
Now let's look at SWF, who we last saw falling to #2 for the first time in decades. Their biggest problem, as I saw it, was a failure to develop new main eventers who could adequately replace their retiring veterans. This situation can't go on, and since you <em>can't</em> have Jack Bruce as your figurehead in 2020 (he may still be able to perform, but he won't be able to carry the company), something's got to give. Again, I'll postulate two scenarios:</p><p> </p><p>
Scenario One ("the good one"): The company rebounds with one or more big signings (Champagne Lover? Rocky Golden? Nicky Champion?) and with one or more of the CVerse's perpetual bridesmaids finally blossiming into a superstar. The company will remain #2 (as I don't see USPW falling in 2020), but will back in the fight in a big way.</p><p> </p><p>
Scenario Two ("the bad one"): SWF falls to #3 in America after Bruce retires (or massively cuts back his schedule) and the company still can't develop or retain bonafide main eventers. Possibly there will be backstage turmoil as well with Eisen forced out by Operation Lullabye. If the latter happens, the company may fall even further than third.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>
I expect USPW and TCW to hold position, although as I said before, pretty much any company could rise or fall significantly if something unexpected happens, but then, who can predict the unexpected?</p>

Bull makes a good point. If someone's popularity is higher than their Sex Appeal, then you'll always get a better result just rating them on straight Overness. So other than protecting people from the consequences of making an inexplicably poor booking choice, this particular issue isn't something that really needs to be addressed.
I still think that, especially with the new calculations for Sex Appeal roles and the penalties for using them in longer angles, some of the product-related penalties should be dispensed with.
- "Angle roles rated on Sex Appeal will be penalized" doesn't need to be applied to any product that isn't specifically targeted as "family-friendly" or something similar.
- "Angles rated primarily on Sex Appeal will have their results limited" which was universally applied in the last few versions of the game, should still apply to all but highly risque products.
