I spent HOURS a day on that, planning out meticulous details for a personal game <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> every tour show, every tournament match, every storyline was crafted in excruciating detail because that's what made it fun!<p> </p><p> Now with the T-Verse probably a few months away if not more, I'm looking to start a long-term puro game in the C-Verse for the first time in ages. I haven't played PGHW in depth since TEW2010 I think? </p><p> </p><p> My goal here is to keep them as close to the PGHW style as possible, while taking some inspiration of NJPW with scheduling and all that.</p><p> </p><p> Anyways, I'm looking for some pointers before I dive too deep into it. I'm about to start crafting a spreadsheet but I want to ask a few basic questions before I start:</p><p> </p><p> *Junior Division. Does anyone try to implement one? Would PGHW ever do it? Good signings?</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Workers like Yasuda, Munkata and Flemmingway seem to fit well in a Juniors division, along with the new signings from WLW -- Kobe and Reaver. </p><p> </p><p> There isn't a huge need to sign guys from the jump -- you can get a solid number of Middleweights to move down to Lightweight. Yasuda and Munkata both fit the "mold" you see in Junior Heavyweights. </p><p> </p><p> Would recommend Jotaro Tanaka & Jayson Van Pelt among others. </p><p> </p><p> Jimbo himself probably would benefit from it -- it probably has an off-chance to improve his star quality assuming you also get him to change shape afterwards.</p>

  10. The backstory behind the mod: C-Verse 2k20 isn't a 2021 accurate data representation or a what-if fictional scenario. It's a simulation, a scenario designed to create a better video game representation of real-world events. It's designed to include as many important figures and characters even if that means fudging reality a bit to do so, and to create as much conflict and intrigue as possible. Some companies open early, some relationships are intentionally exaggerated, some workers debut a bit early. Rules are played fast and loose with titles, broadcasters and products to provide the most entertaining gameplay experience. Redundancies are eliminated. Rather, the goal is for you to have fun simulating the C-Verse, not to play a realistic version of it.
  11. Overall, I think the current data is really well done -- however, given my experience with the data update for TEW 2014, a chance to think over/tweak the data for 2021 can make things a lot more interesting. There are a few minor issues, while explained within in-game canon, I dislike a bit about the new set. Mainly, having workers go straight from the independents to major companies -- that do bother me, and I would like to give an opportunity to change that data for personal use, and I might as well release these publicly. Making C-Verse mods for me is also great creative exercise.
  12. The C-Verse 2k20 will be a mod inspired by the old C-Verse XL. The mod will contain several additional companies, some more independent workers and workers to release. I also plan to make some tweaks to the existing C-Verse and expand into India. I have a way that I plan to do this that makes sense in the in-game universe canon. I'm unsure if, or when, this will be released. The initial releases will likely come without additional graphics -- so there will be some broadcasters specifically without graphics. The mod will focus on the following: Returning to the "merit-based" system of promotion, where workers spend a few years working independents before signing with a new company. Adding "touring experience" pop for existing workers active in Japan, like Chess Maniac starts with. Specifically, legacy workers like Juggernaut and Elemental would have this. Expanding the existing COTT Adding promotions and broadcasters in India Adding developmental promotions for major companies [see USPW]

  16. PGHW Night of Respect Friday, January 16, 2020 15,000 fans present in Tokyo, Japan 4 vs 4: Busso Makiguchi & Chojiro Kitoaji and Masaru Ugaki & Ryoma Muruyama vs. Dean Waldorf & Marv Statler and Harold Martin & Percival Swallow A tag team showcase, with each wrestler getting a chance to show off their skills. There’s a bit of miscommunication between Kitoaji and Makiguchi. They’re not quite working well as usual. Both Percival Swallow and Harold Martin look strong. Martin, in particular, threw around smaller opponents. Makiguchi eventually gets Statler with a flash pin, rolling him up for the win. Busso Makiguchi & Chojiro Kitoaji and Masaru Ugaki & Ryoma Muruyama d. Dean Waldorf & Marv Statler and Harold Martin & Percival Swallow when Makiguchi rolls up Statler with a small package! PGHW International Title Match: Reaver © vs. Cyril Warbler Swallow and Martin stick around at ringside for the next match. Watoga, already at ringside, enters the ring. The PGHW International Champion enters to some fanfare. He’s well outsized in this match. Reaver tries to get Warbler on the ground. While he has some early success, Warbler every bit was his match overall – Reaver can’t get the advantage. Eventually, Warbler starts to overpower Reaver with some stiff strikes. However, he gets a bit too cocky, and Reaver outmaneuvers him. Warbler gets a near fall, and gets Reaver close to tapping out with the Warbler Wrench [Half Nelson]. However, Reaver refuses to give. The finish sees Reaver leap from the top rope and roll Warbler up with a Sunset Flip. Reaver defeats Cyril Warbler with a flash pinfall after a sunset flip! Reaver makes defense #5 of his PGHW International Title! <table border="0" bgcolor=#ECECEC><tr><td align="left" width = "900">Cyril Warbler is livid, slapping the mat hard. He rants loudly about several things, mainly what he saw as a fast count, as Martin & Swallow enter the ring to comfort him. Warbler demands Reaver offer a rematch under what he calls “catch as catch can” rules. Reaver, incensed, gets defensive – he accepts the request, but gets too close to Martin & Swallow – who hit him with Bail Me A Googley [Assisted Leaping Ace Crusher] before putting the boots to Reaver. </tr></td></table> PGHW Glory Tag Crown Match: BISON Yano & Brute Kikuchi © vs. Danny Beast & Timmy West Danny Beast & Timmy West are out next. They’re challenging the current champions, Yano & Kikichi, who jobg slowly down to the ring. All four guys are absolute powerhouses, working at a slow but deliberate pace. Both teams batter each other for several minutes, with Kikichi’s hammering blows standing out. Eventually, Kikichi manages to isolate Timmy West in the friendly corner. He brutalizes Timmy West with the Kikichi Crush, covers… no! Danny Beast breaks it up just before the count – near fall! Danny Beast goes on a run, knocking BISON Yano from the apron. Fresh, he lands several stiff moves to Kikichi, before hitting him with the power press [side Death Valley Driver]! Danny makes the clean cover. We have new PGHW Glory Crown Champions! Danny Beast & Timmy West defeated BISON Yano & Brute Kikuchi when Danny Beast pinned BISON Yano with the Power Press! Danny Beast & Timmy West win the PGHW Glory Tag Crown Titles for the 1st Time! PGHW Historical Japan Championship Match: Keiji Takano © vs. Magnum Kobe Magnum Kobe comes out next. He gives Beast & West some love, slapping the hard earned title belts slung over the new champions shoulders . Keiji Takano makes his entrance. The PGHW Historical Japan title strapped around his waist. Cautious, and a bit intimidated, Takano timidly begins to attack Kobe. Early on, he leverages his strength to keep up with Kobe, and controls the pace. Magnum Kobe catches on, and speeds the match up. He deftly dodges Takanos strikes, rolling through a lariat. He lays into his opponent with several swift kicks. Once Magnum Kobe heads to the top rope, he has the clear advantage. He lands a several dropkicks, before hitting what looks like a brutal senton. The dazed champion rolls from the ring to recover. Keiji Takano attempts to re-enter, but Magnum Kobe lands a Kobe Bomb [Diving Meteora] from the turnbuckle to the outside! Keiji crashes into the barricade! Kobe rolls the champion back in and goes for the cover. We have a new PGHW Historical Japan champion! Magnum Kobe d. Jimbo pushes him back – turns back around –Matsuki blindsides Jimbo! Jimbo stumbles, Matsuki lays into his stomach with a stiff kick to the stomach! An assistant puts the belt around his waist. Jimbo walks slowly down to the ring. He’s disheveled, a bit unsettled, but confident. Matsuki left a few bruises on the champions forehead. Otherwise, Jimbo appears in fighting shape. Seiji hands the PGHW Glory Crown to the referee. Match starts. Matsuki goes after Jimbo, again with all his might. He lands several punches to the champion, forcing Jimbo to the ground. Jimbo crawls to the corner, Matsuki crowds him, and the referee breaks it up. Jimbo looks pretty battered. His mouthpiece has fallen sideways in his mouth. The two stand off against one another, the challenger about a head taller than the champion. The ref re-starts the match, and Jimbo shoves the challenger. Matsuki lunches at the champion, Jimbo rolls through – dropkick! Matsuki cascades into the ropes. Spear! Seiji has him down! The champion works over the legs for several seconds. Matsuki writhes! The challenger grabs the ropes, Seiji lets go. The ref restarts the match again. This time, it’s a clean start, and Matsuki knocks Jimbo down with a vicious left hook. He pounds away at Jimbo from the mount, before Jimbo manages to pull Matsuki into full guard, and again works away on the legs! Jimbo strikes Matsuki in the calf – the champion laying on the challenger with the elbow and knee! And then a fist drop! Jimbo climbs up to the top rope – Matsuki catches him in mid-air! The two struggle a second for position. Seiji reverses it! He hits a Tilt-A-Whirl DDT! Seiji goes for the pin. No! A two count. Matsuki at this point is desperate to regain control. He's clearly battered. Seiji dodges the first punch, manages to arm drag Matsuki to the ropes – Matsuki lays the champion out with a shoulder block! Seiji is in trouble! He’s busted Seiji wide open and blood seeps into the mat! The referee temporarily stops the match, to check on Seiji, and clears the champion to continue. Matsuki again goes on the offensive, but Seiji manages to roll through. It’s clear the challenger was frustrated by the decision to check on the champion. He’s getting frantic and careless, and it shows. Seiji uses Matsuki’s strength against him and tires him out. Matsuki gets a couple leg kicks to Seiji, but the momentum has shifted. The champion trips up Matsuki with a drop toehold, and again wrenches the legs. Matsuki clearly is in pain by this point, breathing heavily and wincing. After a couple agonizing minutes, Matsuki manages to make it to the ropes. The referee re-starts the match. From ring bell, Matsuki lunges at Seiji, and takes him down. Seiji quickly moves to the full guard, bridging out. Matsuki reaches for the ropes, but Seiji breaks the hold, and pulls himself atop the turnbuckle! Matsuki struggles to his feet – the challenger catches the champion in mid-air! The champion quickly adjusts and pulls Katsushige into the Seiji Ocean Lock [Octopus Stretch]! Matsuki struggles, stumbles to one knee, and eventually has to tap out! Seiji Jimbo d. Katsushige Matsuki after Jimbo forced Matsuki to submit with the Seiji Ocean Lock! Seiji Jimbo makes defense #2 of the PGHW Glory Crown Title! Seiji Jimbo has defended his championship again! Bloodied and battered, he retrieves the PGHW Glory Crown, and walks slowly up the ramp. Matsuki, clearly in severe pain, takes several seconds to get up. He has to helped from the ring.

  18. I have to think with this loss, Zippy has the inside track on a title shot. He seems to be getting pushed as the top babyface in the territory right now. Connor is a great champ, but he doesn't really need the belt right now -- not with Ali & Acid still around. Makes some sense to have Ali-Zippy "exchange belts" -- have Ali end up with the Indiana Heavyweight and Zippy take the Mid-American Heavyweight. Monterio would be a "transitional champion" in this case, but he's in a feud and it's a secondary title -- plus, Ali would have both belts, making him look strong. Have Zippy win the big one in a "fluke victory", the rematch end for the Mid-American ending with a DQ/count out, and the third match for the Indiana Heavyweight end with Zippy losing to Ali clean, setting up a rematch down the road at some point -- where Ali puts Zippy over as the "face" of the territory.
