1. The Punisher | Rapid Pro Wrestling

    End of Year 1

Year 1 Roll: 42. "Step Into The Light" You get your 15 minutes of fame. +5 Pop across entire base country. (wooo. let me go from 8 to 13 pop, and 0 to 5 pop in my weaker areas. Could've gotten higher than that with 1 squash match! >.<)

    -Couple of Notes-

*Profitable every single month. Currently am a couple hundred dollars short of 148k. Started signing the expensive workers after my third month.

*El Mitico is gaining strong friendships with everybody on the roster thanks to my positive meddling. We're up to 4 (Extraordinario Jr., Mr Lucha III, Fro Sure and Rudy Velasquez) My backstage will be screwed if he leaves.

*We're up to 8 popularity in Tri-State. Should reach small by the end of the year. If we're close, I may push by running weekly shows again like I did the first 2 months.

*I've only had 1 worker taken so far, and that was Acid. It was nice to be able to work 2 matches with him. Now I don't have a go to for psychology boosts!

  2. So where better than to hold the elimination chamber? Hold qualifying matches for the weeks leading up to the PPV. Say Remo is champ after SC, he defends his belt in a rematch at WttJ, then the following 4 weeks you hold 4 qualifying matches to see who joins Remo and his dance partner from SC and WttJ in the Elimination Chamber. From there you have a number of storylines that could come as a result of a 6 man match to carry you through towards the new year!

The Cell, for me anyways, is the be all end all of a feud. You go to that Cell when there's nothing left to contain the two in the program.

The Elimination Chamber, on the other hand, is a really fun and brutal gimmick match, but with any multiman match, it's a little difficult to get invested in the story as if it was a 1 v 1 match, hence why you could just do qualifying matches to get the remaining participants. You go in with the two in the feud + 4, so anything could happen. Then on the flipside you have a multitude of stories from the fallout of the match, depending on how you believe it would play out.

  3. Name: Hideki Hoshino

    Short Name: Hoshino

Bio: Hoshino was homeless for the majority of his life. He grew up in back alleyways fighting to survive. A perfect example of his survival is the scar on his left cheek. Once he turned 18, he decided to try and get paid for his fights. He took part in a couple of MMA bouts, compiling a 3-0 record with 3 brutal knockouts. The wrestling world soon came calling. While Hoshino is still extremely green, no one can question his brawling skills, and the legitimate aura he exudes.

  4. I don't like to have too many guaranteed gimmicks on PPVs. If you do that, you run into a situation where creatively you're in a corner. It's like WWE did before they started changing it the last few years. If you have a PPV every year where you hold a gimmick match, for example the Hell in a Cell at Under Control, then you're booking that match regardless of whether it's right for whatever program you're putting in it.

Instead, I keep to PPV specific matches like The Rumble in the Jungle (Royal Rumble) at Welcome to the Jungle with the winner getting the money in the bank treatment (winner has a year to get a SWF World Heavyweight Championship match at any event of his choosing), but I also don't run a Money in the Bank. With Christmas Clash, I try to keep it all 4v4 but I keep the matches long, so no more than 3 or 4 matches. Under Control is where I'll hold an Elimination Chamber if stories call for it, and Let The Games Begin will be where War Games are held, again, if stories call for it.

Past that, it really depends where all the stories are at. I don't like to use gimmick matches too much, instead I keep them special. I'll use things like Last Man Standing, No DQ, Street Fights etc. fairly often for PPVs, but the real gimmick matches like Cage, Ladder, HIAC etc I keep special.

But ultimately, it's your game world. Make your own canon!

So I decided to break the rules and jump from the booker of small level promotion Exodus 2010 to the CEO of a cult TCW. I scrapped the game and restarted lol.

Decided to go with a high flyer this time, and aerial based promotion. It obviously won't have very many aerial guys until I get money, but never the less. Running weekly shows at the moment. Got Michael Bull AGAIN as the owner. With the new patch, I may actually stick with my promotion until at least regional. Depends on what cult promotions I may be able to jump to.

  6.
Thanks for the responses. That's what taking me so long to get my ppv up. I have the angles written, but the matches are incredibly difficult (and not much fun) to write. I finish a match, then read through it and what I though was a good match (description wise) winds up sucking.

I think I'll go the way of wrap ups. Just hit the key spots to drive home the point of the match.

  8. Halfway through 2017, and I just offered a contract to a still toxic Kikkawa who was realeased from Burning Hammer over a year ago at this point in the game. Since I'm lucky if I draw 900, I doubt my crowds are affected all that much. I need the ratings! I've managed to come second almost every month to GCG, but between their top stars, they manage to put on 80+ rated shows damn near every month. Hopefully Kikkawa can help to put a stop to that.
  9. Sammy is great for the short term. He's got all the necessary tools except he's old. I believe he's 37, by the time you could start getting benefits he'd be 38, and maximum benefits would be at 42. By then, if he's not in decline it's almost a lock he would be in a year or two. I think Wolf is the way to go if you don't like Rocky!

Also, I checked around the other Japanese promotion and nobody has gained any popularity except for GCG over the last 6 months. GCG just got a point of popularity in the last 2 months. Meanwhile, the industry and economy are both at 15 (and growing, thankfully) so I can only assume no wrestling industry = no growth.

I still don't understand how my guy doesn't know any Japanese yet. That's frustrating!

  11. In my third year and it's been starting to go well, running two shows a month and then alternating with one show a month.

And then suddenly my sponsorship started dropping, my popularity goes up, sponsorship down. This month it was estimated between 33,000 and 37,000. I made 20,000. This seems way too much of a difference than before.

I reported it in tech support. If turns out to be a bug, would it be cheating if I added the difference in the editor? Because I can't break even holding one show only now.

Mine dropped from 60 to 30 grand a month as I started losing regional battles. My home region stayed the same, but the other Japanse regions went for low to mid 20s down to around 10. Maybe that's what happened?

  12. 53. "Casting Call" Hollywood is calling you with a "Major Role", add +10 between your Acting and Star Quality. Add Movie Star to your character (Other Genre)

Finshed my first year (currently simming to end of year, already ran my 1 December show) and rolled that. Pretty happy considering I set myself as figurehead a few months ago despite not being completely "ready."

Still haven't learned any Japanese. I am finally turning a small profit. I gave up on winning the regional battles. I even tried turning the product more pop based so I'd have a chance and then I couldn't edit the match/angle ratio so it wound up being a waste! Anyways, I lowered my production to the point where 2 are below the level of my rivals, but I'm finishing either 3rd or 4th regardless, so I'll save the extra money. The income is modest, we're talking 10 grand-ish.

Due to the regional battle, I am gaining absolutely zero popularity. Even though my shows rate anywhere beteen 65 and 78, I remain at 28.1 popularity (checked the editor after a few months because I couldn't figure out why I wasn't gaining) so I'm not sure what I'm going to go. GCG won't allow me to be their booker, and the only other regional promotion I can apply for at the moment is some European promotion that looks blah. So I'll keep riding this out. Hopefully once my figurehead bonuses set in I'll be able to get slightly better ratings and actually gain pop. It looks like I'm going to be in a holding pattern, though.

  13. So the tsunami came and killed the wrestling business in Japan. However, didn't effect me too much. I was losing 60 to 70 grand a month anyway, and I still am. At this rate, I'll be able to.run EX2010 another 10 years, give or take a year.

Good news though, my pop is almost 70. I just made myself figurehead, so hopefully that'll begin to help put EX2010 above or directly behind GCG until I'm regional and able to share their top guys. Also developing nicely. About to turn over from trying to get pop to trying to get bigger skill gains.

Finally, how long does it take to learn a new language? I'm not talking fluently, just basic or passable. As far as TEW is concerned, I've been in Japan 4 months and don't even have the basics. Smh.

  14. I got Michael Bull too before EX2010's owner died and I was able to become booker. I ran 4 shows before I finally got 1 point of popularity. A true zero promotion is incredibly difficult this time.

Also, after 2 matches in Japan my popularity is at 18 in my home region. I main evented a tag match w/ Magnum Kobe who had 1 date left on a loan when I got there, then a squash victory over the aforementioned Roku Sotomura. Really excited to get back on after work

I lost like 10 grand, but when you have over 10 mill in the bank who cares! One bad thing is I finished 5 out 6 in regional battle. That sucked. Hopefully once I build my stats up from working with the Japanese talent I can really drive the ratings.

  15. !!

Congrats :) Time for your UC to learn an new language

Yes, indeed. I just signed Roku Sotumora to a 3 appearance contract to get dominated by me 3 consecutive events so I can get some quick pop. He's E+ throughout Japan with 1 area a D- and another a C- so it should boost me up quickly. I also added 2 weekly events. If I can keep making money and jump to regional with more sponsorship money I'm going to try to open a network in Japan to get some weekly income. Idk, we'll see. This is definitely exciting, though!

And to add to my joy, Kikkawa just got fired from Burning Hammer after a scandal involving him making racist comments came to life. I love it lol.
