  1. I've got 17 matches rated at least 90. 2 of which are a 99, 1 is a 98 and 2 are 97. For my company, we've got 10 matches that rated a 99.
  2. 2022 has come to a close and it was a phenomenal year for CWA Reborn, and for myself. We'll start with the end of the year awards. Wrestler of the Year is CWAR's Jay Chord! Company of the Year is CWAR. Show of the Year is CWAR WrestleFestival 6, which is listed below. Young Wrestler of the Year is Chris Carnage, that's me! Woman Wrestler of the Year is CWAR's (and 5SSW) own, Fuyuko Higa. Manager of the Year is CWAR's Jack Bruce. CWA Power 500 Members: Jay Chord (1), Ernest Youngman (4), Rocky Golden (8, not technically a member yet, he just joined the roster on the first of January), Bunrakuken Torii (10, in our dev fed), Chris Carnage (17, me), Sonny Wildside (20), KC Glenn (21), Mark Griffin (25), Robby Griffin (26), Nelson Callum (29), David Stone (31), Shooter Sean Deeley (33), Fro Sure (36), Magnum Kobe (38), MYSTIC Dragon (39), Cali Slick (40), High Flyin Hawaiian (41, in our dev fed), Greg Gauge (42), Casey Valentine (47), Frankie-Boy Fernandes (50), Edd Stone (51), Brooke Tyler (55), Lauren Easter (65), Aldous Blackfriar (66), James Diaz (69), Amber Allen (72), Acid II (73), Tiffany Jade (74), The Architect (78), Island Boy Apollo (80, in our dev fed), Davis Wayne Newton (87) and Hollywood Bret Starr (98) round out the top 100 for us. This was the biggest news ever for our company. We now have a cemented figurehead. In terms of in ring, I'm skeptical how he's going to do. This signing was more to give us a figurehead and to ensure our wins in National Battles, for Canada for sure, but hopefully for USA as well as currently USPW is kicking my teeth in by a narrow amount every month. The drawback is Jay Chord is now a massively wealthy man as he had wage matching. On the bright side, after winning Wrestler of the Year, I'm not so sure he isn't deserving of his newfound wealth. In terms of myself, as posted here a couple times now, it really feels like my UC is pop capped at 75. That hasn't limited me in getting 99 match grades, but it could make it more difficult. The steroid roll I got before has surprisingly been wonderful. I suppose as long as I don't die in increases physical skill gains. Hopefully I don't die before I can complete the challenge. I've listed below all of my rolls for the past 3 years. My only goal for the upcoming year is to be #1 in the Power 500. Chances are slim that happens as Chord is a machine, but one can hope. YEAR 1 First Step - Earn a Match Grade of 50 or More With Your Wrestler 24. “Aerial Assassin” You have devoted yourself to climbing that turnbuckle, +5 to your Aerial or Flashiness skill Flashiness from 6 --> 11 Hello World - Work for a Tiny company 36. “Solid? "It's not the size of the dog, it's the size of the fight" You now like fighting from underneath, add "Plays Weasely/Underdog Well" and “Giving Performer” to your attributes This overode my Can't play gimmicky/underdog well, so that's nice. Giving Performer should help at some point as well! A True Alternative - Produce an Event Card of 75 32. "Chance to Train" You have been offered the chance to train with a Wrestling Legend. "Chance to Train" You have been offered the chance to train with a Wrestling Legend. Gain +20 points to spend on any Fundamental skill. (Basics, Selling, Consistency, Safety & Psychology) Selling 50 --> 70 What a lucky roll to get that a 2nd time. The first one I put in Psych, but as that is 77, I figured getting selling from 50 to 70 would be more beneficial than Psych from 77 to 97, although that was extremely tempting. Going Places - Break into the Top 250 8. "Where There’s A Will" One of your die hard fans has passed on bequeathing their worldly possessions to your promotion. Do you accept it or donate it to charity? Gain EITHER $56,609 or +5 Prestige Hit 220 on the Power 500 I'll take the 5 prestige End of 2021 Roll 7. “That Loving Feeling…” Your love life has something happen. "I told [WWE] to have Triple H pick me up in a limo, then we could go test together. They never asked again" Add "Steroid User" to your character’s addictions. Almost There - Earn a Match Grade of 99 or More With Your Wrestler 11. “LEGEN… wait for it… DARY!” Gain a Best Friend relationship with someone on your roster whose picture is of them wearing a suit. If no-one on your roster is wearing a suit, you must hire someone who wears a suit and become their Best Friend anyway then add the Drinker attribute. Adrian Garcia Legendary Show - Book a 100 rated show 31. “Hit The Bricks” You live in the gym. +10 to spend on physical skills. (Athleticism, Toughness, Stamina, Power) Athleticism 60 --> 70 End of 2022 Roll 40. "As Real As It Gets" The World of Professional Fighting called you out and you delivered. Add +5 between Toughness and Menace. Add either MMA Fighter, Boxer or Pro Martial Artist to your character Toughness 53 --> 58 MMA Fighter Turn of A Centenary - Break into the Top 100 50. "Grounded in Reality" You've discovered a new found ability to play Realistic gimmicks and prefer to have back up, add "Plays Realistic Well" and “Tag Team Specialist” to your attributes A Select Few- Break into the Top 50 46. "Living the Gimmick" You are now comfortable playing a role and you know it takes time to build a story, add "Plays Gimmicky/Cartoonish Well" and “Slow and Steady” to your attributes Here's my UC Stats and Attributes. Not shown is Slow and Steady.
  3. Found out Edd Stone and Fro Sure have great chemistry as a team. I think my next tag champs are gonna be Stone Fro'd Crazy. Yeah... I went there.
  4. Adrian Garcia So I haven't had a match below 80 in 2 months with numerous of those matches being over 90, including this one. My pop is capped a 75 across mutliple areas. I have a broadcaster with Huge coverage in Canada, Big in USA, Mexico and Japan and Medium everywhere else. I'm at 75 across multiple regions throughout the globe despite my great performances. My company is also steadily growing as I've put on numerous 90+ rated matches, usually at least 3 a show and since I'm running a three ring match focus, that's enough to give me at least a low 90's grade. If I truly am hardcapped at 75 despite being a NBT, not sure what to do going forward. I suppose I could continue spamming that match on a PPV where I max out the Event spending things in hopes it gives me that last 1 overall. I've had a few 99 rated matches this year, but still no 100 yet.
  5. Just had this match happen. 98 rating despite the short match. I'm running Lucharesu which means matches of less than 15 minutes won't reach world class scores. Wanted to post this to let everyone know that's so worried about their grade how very little the dings actually mean. If you're concerned with ratings and are consistently getting lower ratings in your biggest matches, it's very likely not due to any specific ding, but rather all of the dings as a whole. You can still put on incredible matches and angles almost regardless of the length. EDIT: Mod please move to TEW 20 General Discussion forum. Didn't realize I was in the Mod forum when I posted this *facepalm*
  6. I'm not sure how new you are to the game so I'll list everything I know, however basic it may be. First in your user talents theres 5 stats. Negotiating, leadership, diplomacy, motivation and I believe the last one is called creativity. This last attribute gives positive or negative bonuses to gimmick ratings. The higher your creativity rating, the higher chance of a successful gimmick or gimmick change. 2nd, look at a character's attributes. This game has attributes for gimmicks now as opposed to ratings. Not all characters will have specific attributes related to gimmicks, but the majority I've seen do. So pick a gimmick style they're particularly good at playing, this will increase the chance of a higher rating. When you make the gimmick, you can pick somewhere on the grid between creative, generic, unique and safe. Each of these 4 have an effect. I don't recall what they do specifically off the top of my head but I believe unique makes the gimmick life shorter in exchange for potentially larger bonuses while generic does the opposite. Creative and safe essentially determine the ranges the initial gimmick can get. Creative could be high or low ratings while safe you're more likely to get around average.Again, pick a basis the character is good at playing. Don't change a gimmick too soon after giving someone a gimmick. As a last resort, if the gimmick gets a horrible theme, you could tweak it at the start as opposed to when it gets stale. There's more in the handbook about how that works but it's something along the lines of it can get a little better or little worse when tweaking. Lastly, they can get better over time by being seen while using their gimmick so if you don't get a great rating, there is still hope.
  7. Yes, you can buy out companies. I would recommend shutting them down so you can leech their popularity for your own and then sign their unemployed workers. If you need a dev fed, that's a good route as well. Always take their events too, as they're likely to be a higher importance than yours, or closer to upgrading.
  8. Just looked at the creative section and saw that I'm marked as a Next Big Thing. So my lack of popularity growth is slightly puzzling, especially with the PPV being a large. I'll see if things change with TV. Currently running a B Show and that does nothing. Can't cancel it without paying over 4 mil, so I'm in do nothing mode now.

But I didn't check progress to see where he was before. Everyone else is still between 70 and 75 at the top of my card. I'm also on a large ppv broadcaster now.</p>

  11. If that's the case, it's gonna make sticking with your original company incredibly difficult. If that's the new normal, you're looking at gaining 12 pop a year, 60 pop in 5 years. That's still not even at Big 5 years in.
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Bad Collin" data-cite="Bad Collin" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49512" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Before we start gaming the system I think that we should check that this isn't a company size thing. I'm actually concerned. Never had a lifestyle roll in any RtG experience. I still have the personal problems as well tanking my matches. It said it's a limited thing and lasts between 3 months and 2 years. If I recall, it was my end of year roll from 2020, so if it's not gone by January of 2023, I'll have to manually remove it.</p><p> </p><p> Also, Tom Townsend died. So I finally got a good color commentator, and now he's dead. I'm rocking Davis Ditterich, Steve DeColt and Adrian Garcia as my commentary team.</p>
  13. YEAR 2 We Are The Moment - Work for a Medium company 34. “So, Tell Me About Your Mother…” You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to your Psychology skill Psychology: 70 --> 75 Becoming Elite - Earn a Match Grade of 90 or More With Your Wrestler 32. "Chance to Train" You have been offered the chance to train with a Wrestling Legend. Gain +20 points to spend on any Fundamental skill. IF you are separated you may choose to start dating someone else, or start over again with them) Brooke Tyler is now dating Chris Carnage WrestleFestival scored an 89, so I missed out on the 90 overall rated event by 1. Spent 1.5 million on extras for the show, so that hurts a bit. On the bright side, it went up in importance, so that's awesome. I cut a ton of a talent. 3.6 million dollars worth of talent, to be exact in December. Just a couple months prior I cut 600k worth of talent. So 4.2 million in lost talent. Luckily with PPV and gates and merch, I had a nice cushion, but I was trying to save for a performance center so I could send Dreadnought down and some of the younger guys that I released that couldn't quite give me the grades I was looking for. Got my second user talent point on my 2nd to last show in December, put it into Negotiating, bringing me to 6. Plan is to keep pumping that up as far as I can. Next step of business is to get rid of my B show, and make it into an A show on OnDem so I can grow 2 more American regions to 65 and get on GNN total sports. I'm waiting to do that until I see how drastic the next major change is going to be, which is my product. So I wanted to go with no style style, but it was too far away from my current style and Buddy rejected it. So I went with LuchaResu Entertainment which now requires storylines. I'm going to wait to see how drastic the storylines requirements are before I get an A Show and potentially piss away my broadcasting for an entire year. Jay Chord and Ernest Youngman can both get a 90 rating in the ring. I'm hoping maybe the change in style will let their popularity carry them slightly higher and potentially carry me to a 100 match at some point. Had to get rid of Fro Sure as figurehead. He was hurting our attendances and merchandising after other workers got over. Aaron Knight is really close to being figurehead material. If I can get his popularity up, I plan on making him the new figurehead. If not him, Brooke Tyler is also really close, although she's a better heel as well and has less charisma than Aaron. My home region is at 77 pop. 2 other regions are at 76 and the rest are 75. I'm really close to growing from Medium to Big. I'm not sure if more TV deals open up at that point, but I'm certainly curious to see. Interesting times ahead!
  14. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Narcizo" data-cite="Narcizo" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49512" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Jay Chord became toxic in my game. I was amazed to get a 98 for our match- a hundred seems very achievable as long as I avoid the psych ding and PSW don’t decide to sign Mitch Naess to an exclusive contract/he doesn’t quit as owner. Naess is the only announcer available with over 80 in announcing. Without him 100 will be impossible. </p><p> </p><p> I’m seeing the pop cap stretch a bit with my top end workers but that doesn’t apply to me. Someone is going to have to carry my substantial frame to an 100 match.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I would cry if Chord went toxic. He and Youngman I think are my only chance. I may have to shift to a more in ring focus product to get it. Idk, I'll mess around once I hit that point where I'm getting close. The personal problems doing is screwing me over right now.</p>
  15. <p>CWAR just got another huge shot in the arm, and more specifically, I got a huge shot in the arm, as I signed 2 time 5-star match participant........</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="U95E3Lc.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/U95E3Lc.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Now I just gotta hope I can't ever sign anyone worth more money than him! Was also trying to get Spencer Spade, as he's been having great matches in SWF, but I lost out on him to USPW. USPW also stole Atom Smasher from SWF, who was their world champ at the time.</p>
  16. As far as I can tell, the only difference between the Written PPA and Monthly is house show availability. I've got some road agents on PPA for this exact reason. I can still make money off their merchandise while also only having them on the shows I run. Since I don't care about house shows, this saves me money. Granted, I'm on a RTG so most guys I try to steal I have to offer no house shows.
  17. The pop is really capped that low? I'm at Medium still and seen a lot of my guys stuck at around 75 but I just assumed it was due to my company size. Hopefully this isn't the case when I hit Large in a while. Focusing on getting Mid South and Mid Atlantic to 65 pop currently so I can get on GNN Total Sports.
  18. It is possible to take a talent that has 10 pop across your native region and 70 pop across their current company's region. Now I'm just wondering if I will grow to regret this signing, but being a perf > pop company, I feel like this will be worth it!
  19. <p>After reading the details of the patch before getting off tonight, I relocated from South East to Ontario. After my acquisition of CWA, having 73 pop across Canada will be huge. I also have access to medium TV network and can get on PPV in Canada. Relocating also brings the benefit of taking advantage of the pop of my CWA talents I signed and since I was on WrestleWorld/OnDem for the past year and a half roughly, all my guys are popular in Canada as well. </p><p> </p><p> I'll be renaming the company as CWA, taking their events and titles for my own. I want to open a dev facility ASAP to lessen some of this roster bloat. Weekly events will still be held on OnDem to gain pop through the rest of the world. Weekly television and monthly PPV will be held in Canada, likely Ontario as I can draw 50k for my monthly event there.</p>
  20. I don't hire negative backstage influences except for 1 particular personality that I can't name off the top of my head, but it causes a minor penalty. Mercenary I think is another I make an exception for. Otherwise than that, my backstage rating stays up by design, but I've run roughly 150 shows and not a single negative incident. Kind of weird after so many hours logged on 2016, but as other(s) have said, it's essentially busy work and I usually fired those that put up too much of a fuss. I'd rather not deal with it.
  21. I use main event spotlight with 100% match expectation for events, and when I get that note in the booking analysis prior to show, I definitely notice my end show rating is lower than what it otherwise would be. Is it worth it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. When I'm bringing in new talent and I want them over as fast as possible, I'll take the show hit to get them up to speed. Otherwise, you'd have to put them on the pre show and gradually build them. I'm not about to be doing that.
  22. <p>I didn't realize how few unemployed workers there are at game start.</p><p> </p><p> The Hype should definitely be AMW bound. That guy is absolutely nothing but trouble and seems like a prime candidate for AMW.</p>
  23. I've had the same issues in my RtG game about the momentum. I can book lower guys strongly, but they still steadily get into the ice cold range over a couple months while my guys at the top of the card stay relatively hot with ease. The weirdness with popularity gains in this version of the game is a bit troubling. I thought I read somewhere in the help menus that there wasn't necessarily an overness cap in this game. Kind of disappointing to see that it appears there is. I'd prefer a situation where strong booking can make essentially anyone popular. Having the game pre-determine prior to start the caps on workers still is somewhat frustrating. Seeing the issues with Remo especially suck, as he and Rich Money is prior games were always my go to top heels, one being a bad ass and one being a chicken poo poo heel. And if Rocky Golden is having similar issues, then it isn't all about star quality like it has been before. Is there a chance we just don't understand the overness system yet and how to build it up once you reach a certain point? Are we maybe misunderstanding the mechanics involved?
  24. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Derek B" data-cite="Derek B" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47387" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>And now I'm back to tweaking future workers... have imported more than 400 from the distant Cornellverse future, will have about another 1500 workers to go through yet too. And tag teams. And graduation dates. And event schedules. And title bios. And yet to debut companies. And so many other little things that crop up through testing and balancing. Definitely going to take longer than I had hoped, this is why I always prefer to do mod making during testing instead of after release. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Welp, guess I'm going back to 2016 temporarily. I've been itching to get a 97 game in with all the new features, but I'm not sure how much longer I can leave this itch unscratched!</p><p> </p><p> I did notice a feature that allowed the creation of up to 100 workers of different skill levels, popularity levels and age/career trajectory, so that could prove useful in fleshing out the game world.</p>
  25. As someone that owns it, there's some stuff I'd like changed, but overall I feel it's a major upgrade over 2016. Finances should definitely be looked at. I don't think 3 major promotions should be able to survive in 1 game region for a long time. Referring to the big 3 American promotions, not only are they surviving, but they're thriving financially. Indy companies all turn profits, even in a crippling industry and economy. The finances are my biggest complaint with the game as presently constructed. The worker development system I actually like. I haven't ran long term enough to see an entire career play out, but it appears like the days where all time great performers are a dime a dozen are done, and I much prefer that.
