  1. <p><img alt="cwu2kLr.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cwu2kLr.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> A True Alternative - Produce an Event Card of 75</p><p> 32. "Chance to Train" You have been offered the chance to train with a Wrestling Legend. Gain +20 points to spend on any Fundamental skill. (Basics, Selling, Consistency, Safety & Psychology)</p><p> Psychology 46 --> 66</p><p> </p><p> First, let me say, Ernest Youngman is God. Period. He had an in-ring rating of 80. Nobody else on my roster touches 70, although there's a few that give me low to mid 60's now.</p><p> </p><p> As for the bad news, TCW came calling. Frankie Perez and Youngman were the first 2 to be offered. Perez I was fine with letting go, as his PPA was the higher on my roster aside from Silver Tiger. Jez McArthuer got taken as well, so I hired Francis Long (yay upgrade) to replace him, and given my relative financial comfort, I hired an additional ref, Erin Lawrence. I also offered Masked Cougar, to the disdain of my owner since he's older than 35, and I got to book him on 1 show before TCW came calling, so now he's jobbing to Silver Tiger so I can raise his momentum back up. In other words, I made the owner mad for absolutely no reason, yay me. Dreadnought is also dominating Frankie Perez in a 2 minute squash, as Perez promised to put him over 3 times, and while I wanted to wait until I pulled the trigger on a Wrestleworld deal, I don't want to let Perez go without getting the benefit of putting Dreadnought over.</p><p> </p><p> Now, Youngman, I did everything I could to keep, literally everything. Youngman is now the only wrestler I have on a written, iron-clad contract. 5 years, 10k per month, 75% of Merch sales, Creative Control, Wage Matching, Hiring Veto, only available for Events and A Shows and the cherry on top, he's going to be used as an Icon. I still made a decent profit of 6.1k to close out June, so his 10k deal won't hurt me too bad.</p><p> </p><p> As for WrestleWorld, if I can math correctly, upping my production values to meet their requirements would cost me an additional 12k per month. I'm unsure how much I would make off of subs, but I'm debating pulling the trigger. I'd ideally like to get 3 more wrestlers locked down so I have a core 4 I can faithfully rely on to pull in good ratings. My ticket revenue was up 8k from the prior month with a declining industry/economy. If the uptick in revenue continues, I'll likely try to get Callum, Fro Sure, DWN and either Mimic or Cali Slick on writtens, leaning towards Slick as he has excellent chemistry with my UC in a tag team.</p><p> </p><p> One last note, I've never not been improving my merchandising. I've upgraded on Rapid the entire time. Currently going from level 4 to level 5. This upgrade is gonna take 25 weeks so I won't begin to reap the rewards until the 2nd week of 2021. The goal is to be on Wrestleworld by them and have popularity across North America to really flourish from the increased merchandising revenue. Matter of fact, in typing all this out, I'm gonna pull the trigger on WrestleWorld now and hope I can sign a few guys before they get poached! </p><p> </p><p> All in all, I'm having a blast with this save.</p>
  2. <p>To add on to what Shawn_Waters said...</p><p> </p><p> WrestleMania is absolutely a season finale. Not all storylines end there but it's where the major matches go down. It's where all the part timers come out. It's where the set is larger than any other show. Occasionally there's a live band. There's fantastic entrances. Far more celebrities than at a normal PPV. etc etc</p><p> </p><p> Essentially, it's your biggest show of the year. With that, expectations are significantly higher, so you want to ensure your top match(es) will deliver. I'd recommend testing for chemistry in house show matches for your top matches. Likewise, it's meant as a closing moment for some talent and storylines. You're next major show, TV, PPV or otherwise, you'll want to bring in your new talents to set up your next year's worth of programs. You'll want to get rid of dead weight.</p><p> </p><p> All in all, think of it as the biggest show of the year. It's not a season finale in TV terms, as there's no season in wrestling (unless your Lucha Underground) but it is meant to be the best show with the most stuff going on.</p>
  3. It's literally the best. Once I finally dove into the Cornellverse and discovered this mod, it was the only one I could play. It's so much more fun getting to use all the people you know from the start of their career to the end. Although none of my games ever lasted that long, when I had a 6 or 7 year RTG save, it's still fun the see the world develop. I love this database so much! Edit, so as to not double post. When you say you've gone through the companies, have you added attributes to the workers in the companies? I feel like this might be the most tedious/time consuming aspect of updating the mod.
  4. The last weekend of May (Saturday, Sunday), Rip Chord, Elemental and Oceano all die. F
  5. Switch from Touring to Weekly events in my Road to Glory in May. Finally make my first profit of around 8k. The last few days of the month look like this. Thursday, best show ever (71) on my 60th show. Friday, nothing Saturday, Rip Chord dies Sunday, Elemental dies, Oceano dies I get the joy from my best show and finally turning a profit, to seeing legends in 3 different parts of the game world die over the weekend. Not that I was ever gonna get to use them, but legends never die, ya know?
  6. The days of touring for me are done. It's not resulting in growth as often as I'd like. I'd rather get the money from event tickets and have a week between bookings. 4 shows a month sounds a lot nicer than 14 shows a month. I did take 3k off of my projected losses for April, so there's hope May or June will be my first profitable month. Still planning on holding off on WrestleWorld until I can sign guys to some Written's.

I'm running ribs every week on Peverell since I botched a move and pissed him off. Got Prime Time upset, but he's jobber fodder at the moment. Got a lot of darlings when I hit tiny to pump up match ratings.</p>
  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TheBryanStinberg" data-cite="TheBryanStinberg" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49512" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Also make sure to adjust in your contract if you are under WrestleWorld on how much revenue you receive. I've been able to get them to give me 60%. Honestly I'm still trying to figure out the best time to change from running weekly events to just hosting monthly events and running a weekly TV show.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ahh so you're not doing the TV, but sticking to weekly events? Did you try TV? Does it result in more revenue if you do TV over events? I'd assume no, but on Events, you also have to use more talent so they don't get pissy for being left off shows.</p>
  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TheBryanStinberg" data-cite="TheBryanStinberg" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49512" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Right now I'm doing great! I'm at 50 popularity, hosting weekly events on WrestleWorld with normal ticket prices at $240k in the bank with a 33 man roster. 32% prestige and 58% momentum. I'm only in the second week of March 2022.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> When did you start running the weekly TVs? Production costs, and potentially losing workers scare me. I know I wanna try to get Youngman and Callum on writtens. Those 2 have by far my best match ever, I believe it was 74 as the main event of my first "PPV" card.</p>
  11. <p>Hello World - Work for a Tiny company </p><p> “Solid? Liquid? Gas?” You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to your Consistency skill</p><p> </p><p> Consistency 53 --> 58</p><p> </p><p> Fresh New Indie - Produce an Event Card of 50</p><p> 49. "It's not the size of the dog, it's the size of the fight" You now like fighting from underneath, add "Plays Weasely/Underdog Well" and “Giving Performer” to your attributes</p><p> </p><p> This overode my Can't play gimmicky/underdog well, so that's nice. Giving Performer should help at some point as well!</p><p> </p><p> Hit Tiny right before my first "PPV" type show at the end of February. Wound up having it as my first paid event with very cheap tickets. Been going with free touring shows. Ran 26 shows between January and February. Sitting at 19 pop a couple shows into March. Got a solid roster. Not sure when I'll get on WrestleWorld. Debating if it's worth it.</p><p> </p><p> Financially I lost 5k in January, and 5.4k in February. February also saw 4 additional shows (1 of which was a normal event) which led to increases in talent and production costs. Sponsorship jumped from 2160 to 5675 and we made 1k off ticket sales for the 1 non-touring event. I'm estimated to get 7.7k off sponsorships now that I'm at small. So I may shift from touring to weekly events rather soon. My only fear is the need to book everyone, with the additional costs for the talent. I'm not sure if sponsorship and ticket sales will cover the costs. As of now, I'm booking mostly singles with the occasional tag or multiman match. 3 matches per show, and since it's a touring show, nobody has complained about being left off. </p><p> </p><p> At what popularity did everyone begin going towards weekly, or even monthly shows? I'd ideally like to complete the challenge with my company, but I also haven't been tempted by another company just yet.</p>
  12. <p>On the last Friday of my first January, I accomplished my first 50 match! </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="URlkyg1.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/URlkyg1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> 24. “Aerial Assassin” You have devoted yourself to climbing that turnbuckle, +5 to your Aerial or Flashiness skill</p><p> </p><p> Flashiness from 6 --> 11</p>
  13. Okay, restarting with Excellent potential. Everything else the same, except I made sure to respect at 0.

Kept wanting to redo an attempt in 2016 after hitting that HoF status in it and never did, so I'm excited to make things happen in this one! (This is being done in a real world based database starting in October 2014.)</p><p> </p><p> Real Wrestling Action is my starting company taking place in the Midwest with a Silver Age Pro Wrestling product. The idea behind the company is kinda similar to NWA in the sense of it being a throwback to older wrestling and mostly in-ring action that still features characters and whatnot. </p><p> </p><p> CR Daredevil is an 18 year old middleweight technician who wears a mask everywhere he seems to go, as if trying to hide his identity from the world... for some reason.... </p><p> (Side note, I did do the Quick Skill Creation tool and got really lucky with my stats adding up to 879 not counting Respect and Resilience. If this is an issue to start it this high, I can edit the stats down before I get too far into it. Feel like the Skill Creation causes higher than 750 a lot though, so maybe the first option should be higher? Just a thought.)</p><p> </p><p> The added benefit of this attempt is that the shows and whatnot will be recorded for my YouTube channel (CRDaredevil05 if it's not obvious lol), so you can watch my triumphs and failures along the way if you'd like. </p><p> </p><p> Look forward to seeing everyone else continue to progress in this!</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You're the 2nd one I've seen with excellent potential for all the stats... can we do that? If so, I'm major behind!</p>
  15. In past iterations of the challenge the goal was to get as popular as possible as fast as possible in order to make enough off of ticket sales to outweigh your talent/broadcasting costs. Once you did that it was smooth sailing. Does anyone know if the 6 month buffer after the first year is still in effect or do you get 12 months of debt and at the start of January you're done if you're not in the green?
  16. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jaded" data-cite="Jaded" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49512" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>How much are you charging for tickets? (Only asking this as I was losing a fortune until Astil pointed out to me that with 10,000+ attendances having it set to free probably wasn't the smartest business strategy ever. Oops.)</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> What popularity were you at before drawing 10k?</p>
  17. If the problems are being worked on, which I have no reason to believe they are not, then I'm not too concerned with not being updated every step of the way. As a consumer of the game who's playing it daily, I'd rather the time and effort be put forth on fixing the bugs/game play mechanics that aren't working properly rather than updates on what specifically is being addressed first. Reason being is that I've no reason to this point to doubt that Adam is working on the game. From being here for the release of 16 and now 20, Adam seems to be spending a ton of time of ensuring the game meets the standards of the fan base. Until he shows a reason to doubt him or his work/effort towards the game, I'll continue to put faith into Adam.
  18. What's your company size? I was thinking it would be worth it if you were a smaller company on say WrestleWorld where you're not quite getting a ton off ticket sales but running 4 shows a month would lead to more losses.
  19. Oh I've been running small shows... should I switch to touring? Aside from the lower asking prices and higher ratings needed for pop growth, does it change anything?
  20. Oh the urge to sign Dreadnought and James Diaz to 10 year deals is gonna be real tempting. I'm a sucker for legacy talent. I'm really curious what my financials look like at that point and if I'll be able to realistically sign talent without going bankrupt.
  21. What causes guys to hand in their notice? Poor booking/momentum?
  22. I agree with the 2nd half. Not every match has to have a main event rating. Speaking for myself, I'll watch most matches, but the ones that get me excited are when it's 2 top guys facing off. An essentially throw away 3v3 match shouldn't draw a large rating because it's a star with 2 underneath guys. We're not talking Shield v Wyatts when both were hot. That being said, if the match result doesn't lead to a loss of popularity, I don't think it should stop your from booking it. The match lengths are there to cap the rating of non main events, in my mind. You're not gonna have 2 job guys going 20 minutes. The chances of the 2 job guys giving you a 100 rating is near impossible, but if you had them go 15 minutes for some reason and they did get a 100 rating, the cap would push it to whatever the cap is, I understand it. So say it's 90, it would lower the rating 10 points. But if the match scored a 50, it wouldn't lower it to 40, it would remain a 50.
  23. I'm indifferent on NEW. I couldn't see SWF having any company as a development territory. Eisen is not a guy that was pro territory. If you're attempting to create the WWF/ECW relationship, you could have them be on friendly terms. But I'm not so sure that would be a good idea either. I say leave SWF as a lone wolf and leave the east coast wars as is. As for CGC, that could be interesting. SWF is worried about the states with HGC so expanding across the border to the north would not benefit them. George brought SWF to Canada for his company so that could be an interesting dynamic. My only question is what would SWF gain from the relationship? It doesn't seem like they get anything positive from it. Developing new talent, I would think, would be a far distant priority to the current threat of HGC.
