  1. Apologies, thought I had mentioned it - all of the angles had workers rated on entertainment, hence why I was referring to MJF's stats. It was a 2 hour show, and as said previously the only thing I had switched off was crowd management. I've taken the attributes off of the workers involved and ran the exact same card, Cody's promo only hit 80 this time around however Jericho/Mox hit 100 again and a solo entertainment promo from MJF hit 88.
  2. Just started a game as AEW, ran my first Dynamite and had 3 angles with a 100 rating. Surely this shouldn't be the case? I had a Mox/Jericho angle opening the show, with a further Jericho promo later on as well as a Cody promo - all 3 got a 100 rating. The show had a 90 rating and the company's popularity has already risen by 1 point across the US (Puerto Rico/Hawaii aside). I always found the 2016 mod to be well balanced however putting on a 90 rated show so easily with your first Dynamite makes it far too easy. A solo MJF promo also got a rating of 83 - he's at 54 popularity and even taking his charisma of 85 into account as the whole entertainment rating, it gives a base rating of 66.4 as per the guide's outline on how rated on entertainment angles are calculated. A Young Bucks/Page/Omega angle also got a 77 rating, which is 17 rating points above AEW's popularity, and way in excess of the popularity/entertainment ratings for those 4. I can only think that the temporary bonus attributes they have all been allocated (groundswell of support, new catchphrase etc) has provided a ridiculously high bonus that has grossly inflated the rating. They all picked up bonuses for improvising well, good road agent work etc, though there were commentary penalties too. Is it worth removing these attributes to see how the game balances out? I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the skill or popularity stats for the workers, but it also doesn't feel right that straightforward angles featuring standard roster members are achieving such huge ratings in comparison to the popularity of the company and workers involved. Even a PAC/Darby match first on the card got a 77 rating (albeit I have crowd control turned off).
  3. I think you're overestimating how much interest the majority of wrestling fans have outside of WWE. On these forums etc where you have fans so obsessed over a simulator, most will of course have knowledge of the top indie stars and those competing abroad. However the vast majority of US fans are going to be people who simply follow WWE and nothing else. WWE has shaped their company on their viewers being loyal to the product, and given their audience makes up the vast majority of the wrestling fandom, their wrestlers are much more prominent in comparison. Just because most workers have widely available videos etc for the whole wrestling audience to view, doesn't mean the available audience are going to view it. In terms of perceptions, as someone mentioned, ROH have 22 major stars. For instance, Silas Young, Dalton Castle and a few others who have never wrestled in a major promotion are pegged at 55 popularity. I'm not disputing that they are solid workers who, if given the opportunity, could work their way up to a decent position in NXT. However the mod in effect states that they are as well known to wrestling audiences as Bobby Roode, Bobby Lashley, Jinder Mahal etc. That is simply not the case, the latter three have had far more exposure to the vast majority of the wrestling audience over the last 4/5 years simply by being on WWE programming. For instance, if ROH signed Willie Mack to a contract of course this would make a splash to some degree in wrestling circles, he's a good worker for NWA/Impact, is X-Division champion and could occupy a decent sized spot on the roster. But it's nothing out of the ordinary. However now imagine ROH signed one of Roode/Mahal/Lashley - that would be a huge coup and would be massive news having an effect industry wide - how have ROH managed to nab a WWE midcarder? It would be massive news for a company the size of AEW, let alone a company like ROH who have a tiny fraction of the same exposure. Yet in game they're apparently all as popular as one another. At the end of the day there's a reason why Youtube results for the likes of Dalton Castle, Silas Young etc have <100k views yet videos with the likes of Bobby Roode, Lashley etc have >1m views - they're just far more well known and popular to the wrestling audience as a whole. I'm really trying to be constructive, I like your mod but as others have mentioned, the way popularity has been weighted makes it unrealistic.
  4. This is the main thing putting me off playing the mod is the balance in the game in terms of popularity. For instance whilst MJF is a great young talent and has had plenty of airtime and major feuds in AEW, he's still only been in the eye of casual fans on national TV since October. Yet he's on the same popularity level as Matt Hardy, who is a future hall of famer, as well as Sami Zayn who beat Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania this year - there should be a sizeable difference in popularity between a young star in a fledgling promotion and established wrestlers who have spent years and years competing for WWE and winning titles. Just looking at AEW the balance is way off, for instance you have Peter Avalon and Jungle Boy both at 40, despite one being pushed as a future star, main eventing Dynamite wrestling Jericho etc, whilst the other is jobbed out on Dark and hasn't won a match. Just looking at those on the AEW roster who have 55 popularity, you've got established stars like Christopher Daniels as well as the Inner Circle (minus Jericho) on the same popularity as Bunny and Jimmy Havoc, who barely feature on Dynamite. There's a ton of indie wrestlers featuring in ROH, Impact, MLW etc who have had very minimal exposure on national TV and would be completely unknown to casual fans yet are within 5 or less popularity points of the likes of Matt Hardy, Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn etc who are all very well established, mainstream wrestlers who haven't been off telly in years.
  5. See that's what got me wondering, the fact the guide is so in depth regards other skills, like saying anyone's Basics being above 40 is largely meaningless. I didn't expect a specific calculation, though at least the guide let's you know you could book say Young Bucks v The Revival and they could put on a great match, even if their styles clash, with the road agent notes letting you also match up skills and for instance use High Spots for a Young Bucks v Lucha Bros match.
  6. I'm not overly experienced in playing TEW (played EWR a ton back in the day) and appreciate the match styles were removed as there are road agent notes if you want to put on a wild brawl, technical masterclass or high spots match by matching up two brawlers etc. However in TEW16 I generally used one of the match types to fit the guys competing so didn't usually go for a general, straight up 1v1 match. The TEW20 guide says that there is no bonus or benefit in matching up worker attributes for a match unless a road agent match is used. This may be basic knowledge, however if I just ran a regular 1v1 match, how is the in ring performance calculated? I appreciate there are bonuses/penalties for chemistry etc and that performance skills, especially psychology and basics are important. However how do the brawl/technical/aerial states affect the match rating? Is an average of the 3 taken, or are wrestlers rated on their best statistic? Or is it a 70%/20%/10% calculation similar to how a card/show is rated? This may be a particularly dumb question that everyone else knows the answer to, but in the guide it simply says that each of the main in ring skills contribute to the match rating but doesn't really give specifics as to how exactly.
  7. If my main event match is following by a post-match angle, which then takes up what would be the main event slot on the booking page, will that angle count as the main event in the show rating, or will it just take the final match booked as being the main event, regardless of any angles that may come later?
  8. Is it better to get broadcast on a Big network with a Late Evening slot or go Prime Time on a Medium networn?
