  2. I think that the developers journal just meant that time decline was taken out of the "Creative" page, in order to make it less immediately visible. I, like ShaunGDB, misunderstood this though, and thought that players could no longer view time decline at all, so it is good to learn that you can view it through the dirt sheet. Thanks to those who have corrected my misunderstanding.
  3. Great topic.

A slightly different kind of success story, but in one of the older TEWs (maybe 2014?) Walter Morgan's progression was really heart-warming. Playing as ROF, he was one of the better workers that I had, and he was improving massively. He was by far and away my most valuable worker, before he sustained an untimely career ending injury without me ever getting the chance to get the most out of him.

This was incredibly disappointing, but he ended up finding success of a different form. I can't remember if he started out running the ROF dojo, or if I appointed him, but a couple of fantastic graduates came along and, if I recall correctly, formed protege relationships with Morgan. His proteges, therefore, ended up fulfilling everything that I had initially wanted for old Walter and which he had been cruelly denied.

Now, this last part might be embellishment on my part, because this all happened ages ago, and my memory is definitely known to exaggerate, but I'm pretty sure that he also ended up marrying someone in the database. I just love the idea that, despite having all the makings of a bitter veteran story, Walter Morgan ended up living happily ever after and in a supportive role, contentedly giving the opportunities that he missed out on to the next generation.

  4. This thread really is the gift that keeps on giving, SMW!

I tend to get distracted by work stuff for a couple of weeks, and not check the forums, then every time a pop back there are just so many great renders. I can't count the times that I've been losing momentum in a long term save, before coming across a render here that gives me the creative spark to continue.

    Thank you.

  5. What effect does the location of a training center have on the graduates it produces? Do training centers in regions with a more robust industry produce better wrestlers?

I don't believe that it has any effect beyond the nationality (and, therefore, possible names) of the workers produced. That is, unless you have a specific "Era" set in the database, where the relative numbers of workers with particular styles can be set by game region.

The way in which a "more robust industry" will be reflected in a region is by setting the quality of the training and facilities for the training centre. So two facilities with the same "Training" and "Facilities" levels should produce comparable workers, regardless of where they are based.

the number of existing wrestlers that will be pushed to high overness levels (ie SWF won't end up having a ton of super-over main eventers in a couple years)?

My understanding is that this is what it means, but I am not Adam, so I probably shouldn't speak for him.

  6. What exactly goes on with this option?

Does it mean if the length is 1 hour , that taping two shows at a time means you book 2 hours worth?

Do you then sell the two taping seperately for two "shown on" times?

Or, do you book one hour that get shown twice?

    Thank you, :)

It means that you tape two shows (both of the full length) in succession. So you only book the venue and need your workers to be available once, but get two weeks' of shows for broadcast.

In short, you book two shows at once so that you then don't need to book another weekly show for two weeks.

  7. First-class? Private jet costs, 5-star hotels, luxury car rentals? If I’m the largest possible size company in the game with an infinite amount of money to have nothing else to spend it on, it’s not out of the possibility to overpay for travel expenses. Whether it increases with size or treated the same as production quality, it wouldn’t even matter for small companies because they are small in size or someone can just not have the option selected and don’t have the benefit of the moral boosts of having travel covered.

I do like the idea of having more to spend money on. The production values, merchandising levels, etc. of recent iterations have been welcome, particularly given the fairly forgiving financial balance running bigger companies.

Choosing to pay for a star to fly in a private jet, or be collected in a luxury car might boost their morale or likelihood of signing a contract, at both a financial cost and a small chance of increasing their ego (perhaps depending on personality). It might be nice to see this decided for an individual worker (maybe a "luxury transport" clause in their contract?) rather than being a flat cost for all workers at a particular company size.

  10. Is there any way to hire a head booker for your main org? I'm not that creative but I still like the game. I tried to just use the main org as sort of a Corporate Shell to 1 or 2 child companies, but eventually my main org shrunk and I couldn't sign anyone good any longer. The Child orgs thrive with the owner and bookers i hired.

Maybe it could be a future option if not.

I don't think that you can hire a head booker for your main company, unfortunately.

It might not be perfect for what you want to do, but I think the closest you could get is to do what you currently are - have the main company as the shell for some child companies - but run the odd "supercard" for the main company to prevent its popularity from dropping.

You could "borrow" workers from the child companies for the night. Then as long us you run a show every month or two, your popularity shouldn't stagnate too much. In fact, you could set the rare shows that you run as "throwaway", that way it wouldn't matter if you just threw a few matches together quickly for a short show, because it wouldn't impact your popularity too much even if it was bad.

I'm not sure whether lesser events count to prevent your popularity from stagnating, or whether you need to run major shows though. Does anyone else know?

Sorry not to have a better solution.

  11. Sorely Missed - Wrestler has been unavailable to wrestle for an extended period of time and has been missed by the fans, their first match in each company will receive a boost (lasts 14-28 days)

I think that this is a great suggestion. I've often felt a little underwhelmed by the fact that returning stars (be they returning from injury, hiatus, or just on a limited schedule) don't function any differently to a worker who has been on every show. This would be a good catchall to represent a variety of similar situations.

  12. I've noticed something very similar.

I wonder if there is some way that the product of the promotion that a wrestler is contracted to could have an influence. I know it might somewhat already - due to the likely composition of rosters - but it would be nice to see workers improving more in the skills that they are most heavily using for the product.

Similarly, it could give developmental companies and performance centers more personality, if the product (or in the case of a performance center, the product of the owning company) could shape the development of workers.

As things are, it seems strange to me that the workers in my PG Sports Entertainment child company, who are hoping to graduate to my PG Sports Entertainment main roster, are making massive strides in developing their puro and hardcore stats.

  13. I like the idea of PWI becoming a sort of inverse WWE. They are the biggest thing in wrestling, but have the wrestling world sick of amazing matches and starved of charismatic bodybuilders in a 20 minute angles.

Would be nice to see the usual underdog workrate promotions vs entertainment juggernaut pattern reversed. As long as it doesn't bring back NOTBPW flashbacks for CVerse players.
