Comments: This is just my personal distaste for using the avatars coming through

Jaylon Martins © vs Davis Wayne Newton (Mid Atlantic American Championship - 30-minute time limit)

    Comments:I dislike Jaylon, a lot

Joey Fili vs Deuce Deadline (20-minute time limit)

Comments:Joey is just a worse Jaylon

The Latino Kings vs The Greatness w/ Haley Buck (20-minute time limit)

Comments:Based on the tag title match, and The Greatness looking to be breaking up I'll go for the kings

Josh Jacobs vs Miller Fforde (20-minute time limit)

Comments:I really like both guys, and with Blaze as champ, Jacobs could use a boost

DeMarcus & Gray © vs The Past Masters (Mid Atlantic Tag Team Championship - 30-minute time limit)

Comments:Everybody but me seems to think these guys are the future of wrestling, I'll assume you are no different.

Bradley Blaze vs ??? (Special Exhibition Bout - Champion vs Champion - 30-minute time limit)

Comments:He's your main man, he shouldn't lose to an outsider

Ernest Youngman vs Pablo Rodriguez (COTT World Heavyweight Championship - with a special guest ringside enforcer - 60-minute time limit)

Comments:I don't want Pablo to lose, but I don't see Ernest losing either, so I'll go with some kind of draw

    Bonus Questions:

Who will fight Blaze in the exhibition bout? Al Coleman (CZCW), Handsome Stranger (FCW), Aldous Blackfriar (IPW), Freedom Eagle (NYCW) Nicolas Lopez (OLLIE)

Who will be the special ringside enforcer? Chris Caulfield, right?

If Threepwood wins, he gets a shot at Sayeed Ali, if Acid wins Threepwood cannot challenge for the Mid-America Championship as long as Sayeed holds it

"The Indiana Strangler" Conner Threepwood versus Acid

This is very much a "Why is Acid even having this match? Conner has wiped the floor with him at every turn so long as a chair wasn't involved. Plus, there really isn't anybody else ready to challenge Ali just yet.

The Dog Soldiers versus Bred for Battle

I'm probably way off on this tournament, but I feel like heels have to win and none of the others really feel like they've done enough (read: anything) to deserve winning this one. Plus Marvin loves himself a rematch so why not? And it keeps Dreadnought strong for when he inevitably loses to PJ

  3. I'm finding it really strange that Ali is being presented as this dominant force when as far as the record book shows he's got a worse than 50/50 record in singles matches in CWI from what I remember (Since I assume the first match with Conner wouldn't go in the record books).

I feel kind of the same with the Zip Squad, Dog Soldiers already beat all the monsters CWI (bar the Hangman) had to offer and now a guy who couldn't get it done, a guy who has lost most of his matches since joining CWI and a team we haven't seen in nearly a year (?) are supposed to threaten them?

Not that these are necessarily bad things, but I'm feeling that inevitable disconnect you get in wrestling between attempting to present it as a real sport and trying to keep a story running.

  6. TopRopeElbow.com: MAW Americana card

Following the shocking termination of the four-year relationship between TCW and MAW, Mid Atlantic Wrestling have announced their first card featuring no developmental talent. The card is much more stacked than usual, featuring three title matches, including a COTT Junior Heavyweight Championship match pitting champion Ray Snow of NYCW against "The Protector of Baltimore" Josh Jacobs. We will also be seeing an appearance from veteran wrestler Texas Pete as he takes on the dominant monster Dreadnought who may well run roughshod over the roster now that he is uncontested by Ho Tinh.

Sam Keith has also announced on social media that the now vacant Mid Atlantic Championship will be contested in a six-man scramble match at MAW Old School Rules, with entrants being determined by a series of singles matches being held over the next four weeks!

  7. The whole situation seems a bit ridiculous to me. The guy made a bad joke - 4 years ago!! - and now they suspend him and send him to "sensitivity training"? This stuff is getting out of control quickly. What has this world come to? Society is so super sensitive these days. Young people say stupid sh!t all the time, get over it, that's never going to change.

Right this shouldn't become a whole conversation, because I don't think it's worth talking about back and forth. But, I am currently younger than Sammy was when he made that comment. If I said something publicly to that effect about a colleague I'd lose my job and be blacklisted from the company. No ifs no buts.

"Young people way stupid stuff" should be about harmless fun, not talking about how much you wanted to rape a potential co-worker and if you do think a joke like that is harmless or well, fun you do need to take a bit of a look in the mirror on this one.

Anyway, on to the thing I actually came to post about: Dave Crist and Joey Ryan have been released from Impact and Michael Elgin has been indefinitely suspended pending further review of his situation. And Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are now a part of RAW.

The time showing on the digital clock that sat beside the bed of Jay Fair. It was empty save for Jay himself. Susan was working the night shift at the hospital. Jay, blurry-eyed reached out for the thing that woke him. He flailed his arm wildly until his fingers brushed the cool, metallic surface of his phone. It was ringing. Probably some marketing scam from halfway across the world. Jay was about to hang up when he noticed Sam Gauge’s name on the caller ID. He didn’t know why Sam was calling, but Jay’s stomach sank at the thought of what could be happening. Vision’s of Sam in the hospital with Greg, or asking somebody to run the company while Sam flew of to Japan because of some emergency with Matt. He was even tempted to put the phone down, let it ring out. It could wait until morning. But, then again, what if it couldn’t?</p><p> </p><p> Jay answered the phone and gave a curious greeting to Sam. There was silence for a moment. A long pregnant silence, the kind normally reserved for horror films, right before the monster pops up. After a few moments, Sam finally replied “It’s done Jay.”</p><p> </p><p> “What do you mean, Sam? What’s done?”</p><p> </p><p> “It’s done, finished, all over.” Sam sounded eerily quiet, and more than a little sad. Jay knew what that meant, going all the way back to their SWF days.</p><p> </p><p> “Sam, have you been drinking? I thought you had given that stuff up. Doctors told you, your liver couldn’t take anymore.”</p><p> </p><p> “Oh, screw the doctors!” Sam raised his voice; anger laced every word. “And screw Kyle Rhodes! And screw BriCo!”</p><p> </p><p> “What’s going on Sam, really,” Jay pushed again.</p><p> </p><p> “The deal’s done Jay. Mid Atlantic Wrestling and Total Championship Wrestling are no longer affiliated. All TCW contracted workers are no longer a part of the MAW roster as of midnight tonight.”</p><p> </p><p> “Jesus Sam, how long have you known?”</p><p> </p><p> “Since ten minutes before midnight. Kyle called me, he said he pushed hard to keep things in place, BriCo said out little growth spurt as a company meant we weren’t a good fit for developmental talent. We could become a potential rival and all that. But Kyle, I don’t know. I think he has it out for me. Always has ever since Rip gave the company to me and not to him.”</p><p> </p><p> Jay paused. He didn’t know what to say. How do you comfort the man who’s just received the worst news of his life. Possibly second, after the news he couldn’t drink anymore, Sam always did love his vodka. But given his state on the phone, it would be a close one.</p><p> </p><p> “You know what Sam?” Jay said, “You’re right! Screw Kyle Rhodes, and screw BriCo. We didn’t need them for six years, and we won’t need them now. We’ve been in scrapes before but the bank balance has never been healthier and the roster is looking mighty fine even without their guys. Sure it’s going to suck vacating the Mid Atlantic Championship but we’ll figure it out. Listen, Sam. I’ll drive down to your place now, give me twenty minutes. I’ve got some big plans coming to mind and I think it’s time we staked our claim in the country.”</p><p> </p><p> “Jay, you can’t be serious.” Sam didn’t sound convinced at all.</p><p> </p><p> “Sam, what was the first thing you said to me when you handed me the book after Jean left?”</p><p> </p><p> “That this wouldn’t be just another feeder league?”</p><p> </p><p> “Exactly Sam, and it’s time we pushed for more.”</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48443" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>A/N:</strong> So yes, the night after our first show in April, TCW abruptly and without warning cut ties with Mid Atlantic Wrestling, cutting the roster down from 36 wrestlers to 25 and forcing the company to vacate the Mid Atlantic Championship for what I believe is the first time in its history.</div></blockquote>

Comments on Diary in general: Just happy to see you back in the saddle and look forward to where you're going to go with things.

  14. That is strange. Ther are over 1600 free pictures included in the database by the end of the first year it shouldn't have even generated 100 yet.

As far as I'm aware only 2 or 3 pictures in the pack are available to be road agents so quick fill doesnt really work you just have to wait for people to retire mostly

  15. TopRopeElbow.com: MAW April is The Cruellest Month Card

Mid Atlantic Wrestling are back again with another mid-month show, and while this one doesn't appear to be on the level of their usual offerings, it provides very interesting matchups such as the rematch between The Past Masters and Rock City Stars following last shows time limit draw, and a main event pitting high flying wonderkid, Kid Fantastic up against former TCW man Nobuyo Hikichi in a matchup that we got a small taste of last month. On top of all that we're going to see the in-ring debut of The Sound Investment.

  16. The Missing Piece

    3JX4gYB.jpg

The problem with living in the age of social media. Aside from the constant surveillance form employers, state apparatus and peers. Is that kayfabe is dead. This was a problem for Danny Hagman. This was a problem because everybody knew he was War Piece. Or rather, somebody posted a picture of him arriving at the venue for his first ever independent show, with his mask hanging out of his gym bag, that was captioned “Hey, have we ever seen this guy before?”

Everyone’s a critic. And when everyone’s a critic and everyone with internet access can post their criticism for the whole world to see, it makes it difficult to keep the act going. Something has to give. In Mexico there was a code, that if you accidentally saw a luchador with their mask off, you looked the other way and pretended you saw nothing. In Pittsburgh you posted it online for your six followers to see. Danny didn’t have a social media account. Not really. He had a Twitter profile that directed people to his work email, and an old Linkedin a teacher made him set up in high school. “You’ll never know when it’ll come in handy” he said.

As much as he shunned social media, Danny did occasionally let himself browse. To make sure he wasn’t missing any big news in the world of wrestling. He read that Mid Atlantic Wrestling were apparently looking to hire some rookies from the surrounding area. He wondered who they would be, until he checked his email that night and saw one from a J.Fair@maw.com. “Oh, it’s me,” he said to himself.

The day Danny arrived in Baltimore to meet with the owner and agents of MAW he met Gordon Shearer, the other man being signed on to the company. Gordon told him how he was hoping to train with CZCW but couldn’t afford Coastal Resort money, so he trained with WWA and would be flying up from California for every show until he found a place closer. Danny was impressed with the dedication. What he wasn’t impressed with was when Sam Gauge shook his hand and said “You’re the War Chest kid, right?”

“War Piece. It’s a board game thing.” Danny replied.

“Oh, yeah well, glad to have you on board.”

That was one of the few times Sam ever spoke to Danny. Between him and Gordon, it was obvious who was the favourite. Not that Danny resented Gordon for that, it wasn’t his fault. Gordon happened to make a great pairing with Kyle Diamond. Danny happened to make other guys look like a million bucks. He knew he had to pay his dues.

Working his way up the ladder in MAW would take time, Danny knew that, but he promised to himself by the end of the year, he wouldn’t be a face anyone could forget.
