    Opening Match

    Tag Team Match

    15-Minute Time Limit

    LhONXaU.jpg&39uy7jk.jpgvsgYPF5yC.jpg&h3rOlS4.jpg

    • After a few moments to build suspense, Stan Manna and Rockin’ Ryan Turner came out to the delight of long-time MAW fans who hadn’t seen the duo in years.

    • Manna and Turner looked as if they hadn’t lost a step since the closure of 4C as they took the fight right to The Past Masters, who were beginning to regret having a match against opponents they couldn’t have prepared for.

    • An expertly timed eye rake from The Historian on Ryan Turner turned things back in favour The Past Masters.

    • After what felt like an eternity of being worn down, Turner managed to make the tag to Manna who jumped into the ring like a man possessed and laid into both Past Masters.

    • Things went back and forth, and when it looked as if Manna was about to tap out to the Deep Sleep, the time limit expired and the referee signalled for the bell.

    • In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, The Rock City Stars drew with The Past Masters in 15:00 when the time limit expired.

    • Jaylon Martins came into this match looking highly motivated coming off the back of a disappointing loss to the veteran Cheetah Boy.

    • War Piece charged Martins at the bell but found himself totally outmatched as J Train tossed him around the ring as if he weighed nothing.

    • The match came to an end when Martins showcased his athleticism by nailing a Flying Forearm for the win.

    • In an extremely short match, Jaylon Martins defeated War Piece in 3:03 by pinfall with a Flying Forearm.

Two men joined DeAnna Desire on the staging area, one wore sunglasses and threw what appeared to be hundred-dollar bills into a crowd who cheered until they realised the bills had his face on them rather than Benjamin Franklin. The other wore a suit with a dice motif.

“So gentlemen, welcome to Mid Atlantic Wrestling, could you tell us who you are and what you’re doing here?” DeAnna asked them.

The man with the sunglasses took the microphone first and spoke with the kind of implied disdain for humanity that can only be heard in some of the world’s most charismatic tech moguls. He smiled and said “My name honey, is Don Dollars, and I’m here with my associate Snake-Eyes to announce to you all that the greatest team in pro wrestling has just been signed to Mid Atlantic Wrestling, and we haven’t even wrestled a match yet. I hold the money, and Snake-Eyes here takes the risk. The money world is a high-risk business and it’s important I have the world’s best gambler by my side.”

Don then handed the microphone off to Snake-Eyes who said “The gambling known as business looks with austere disfavour upon the business known as gambling.”

DeAnna looked at him, more confused than she has appeared at any other point in her run with MAW before Snake-Eyes said “What I mean by that is, we are The Sound Invest, and if you think you can beat us, don’t bet on it.”

    • Jayson Van Pelt and Kamikaze came into this match looking to put away Two Man Riot who had been on a roll since coming together as a team a few months ago.

    • This match was very different from usual tag team affairs in MAW as the referee struggled to maintain control for large stretches, which saw all four men battling around the ring and the ringside area which featured Kamikaze hitting a cannonball senton off the announcers desk on to both Trix Triumph and Copperhead.

    • Once back in the ring The Canadian Daredevils looked to have things finished up until Copperhead knocked Kamikaze off the top rope to the floor, which looked like a bad landing form any angle.

    • This distracted Van Pelt just long enough for Trix to hit the Triumph-Plex and get the victory for his team.

    • In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, Two Man Riot defeated The Canadian Daredevils in 9:31 when Trix Triumph pinned Jayson Van Pelt with a Triumph-Plex.

The now four members of Alphaville came out to the ring together, Seth Whitehead had a microphone in hand, and he began to speak slowly in a cold tone.

“Bradley, Bradley, Bradley. Can I call you Brad? Brad your little crusade isn’t fooling anyone. There’s a reason I lead Alphaville. There’s I’m a reason I’m the Alpha-60 around here. The top dog. You can’t beat me. Whenever we stand on opposite sides of the ring you lose. In two weeks, you’re going to face Paris Burnett. If you can beat him, you’ll face Duke Freeman. Then maybe, if you cry and beg enough, I’ll let you have a title match. And Sam Keith, if you don’t do it the way we want it, consider your company forfeit.”

    • Joey Fili and Josh Jacobs wasted no time in this one, running at each other as soon as the bell rang.

    • Jacobs controlled much of the early portions of the match until Fili hit a pounce on the Protector of Baltimore to turn things back in his favour.

    • Fili looked like he was going to hit Jacobs with a flying headbutt, until Lisa Bowen got up on the ring apron to distract him.

    • After being admonished by the referee Bowen dropped back down just in time to see Jacobs knock Fili down onto the top turnbuckle.

    • Jacobs hit Fili with a running knee strike to the back of the head, then put him away with the Baltimore Backdrop.

    • In a decent match, Josh Jacobs defeated Joey Fili in 8:14 by pinfall with a Baltimore Backdrop after Lisa Bowen interfered.

    • Paul Jurkiewicz and Samson Elwes started in the ring after a brief intermission and were joined by Deuce Deadline and Jonah Pilgrim of the Baltimore Protection Agency.

    • The muscle of the B.P.A looked impressive here, controlling most of the match, save for a brief flurry of offence from Elwes, whose strikes look very crisp for a man making his professional debut.

    • Jurkiewicz was tagged in just to take more of a beating, being mercifully pinned after taking the Deadliner from Deuce Deadline.

    • In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Deuce Deadline and Jonah Pilgrim defeated Paul Jurkiewicz and Samson Elwes in 5:59 when Deuce Deadline pinned Paul Jurkiewicz with a Deadliner.

    Rating: 28

    un5wyqT.jpghsHwEGd.jpg

The live feed cuts halfway through Deadline and Pilgrim’s celebrations as we are given a view of a backstage brawl between Ho Tinh and Dreadnought. The two big men threw each other into walls, pallets and into every piece of equipment they come across. The chaos only comes to an end when over a dozen members of security stormed the scene to keep the two apart, although some members of the team were thrown around during the melee.

    • This match began with Deverell and Queen taking control early on, working over Tyrone Gray in their corner.

    • Queen was allowed to look particularly good in this match, managing a series of near falls on his high-flying opponent.

    • Gray managed to roll over Queen and made the tag to Nate DeMarcus who ran wild on his opponents hitting shoulder tackles and belly-to-belly suplexes on each of them, throwing them across the ring each time.

    • DeMarcus & Gray then hit Zippy Deverell with the Rocket Launcher to put him away.

    • In a decent match, DeMarcus & Gray defeated Quentin Queen and Zippy Deverell in 5:40 when Nate DeMarcus pinned Zippy Deverell with a Rocket Launcher.

    • Zippy Deverell was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance.

    • Kyle Diamond tried to shake Cheetah Boy’s hand at the start of the match, and after much urging from the crowd, did eventually accept the handshake.

    • Diamond’s near inhuman combination of athleticism and power gave him the advantage in the early stages of the match, as he outperformed the veteran.

    • Cheetah Boy worked the leg of Diamond, chopping him down and slowing his high pace style considerably.

    • The writing was on the wall for Diamond as soon as he failed to get Cheetah Boy up for a vertical suplex as the veteran slid down the back, chopped the leg of Diamond and then hit him with the Flying Cheetah Pounce.

    • In a bout that had good heat but sub-par wrestling, Cheetah Boy defeated Kyle Diamond in 10:28 by pinfall with a Flying Cheetah Pounce.

After his match Cheetah Boy grabbed the microphone from the hands of the ring announcer and shouted “Lisa! Josh! I want in! You’ve just seen me wipe the floor with this outsider, you know I’m the real deal you need me! You need a veteran presence!” But before he could continue the microphone was cut off and he left in frustration.

    • The high-flying antics of Kid Fantastic and Devil May Care went up against the knockdown-drag out style of Nobuyo Hikichi and The Wolf Pack.

    • Hikichi and Kid Fantastic started the match off and went hell for leather, knocking lumps out of each other with stiff strikes and big springboard attacks from each.

    • This set the tone for the entire match as all six men involved seemed intent on causing as much damage as possible to the other side.

    • Things began to fall apart between Hikichi and The Wolf Pack as Hikichi caught flack from his partners for refusing to tag them in.

    • This led to their demise as their disagreements allowed their opponents to clear the ring, allowing Acid II to nail Hikichi with the Acid Rain Bomb.

    • In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, Kid Fantastic and Devil May Care defeated Nobuyo Hikichi and The Wolf Pack in 11:37 when Acid II pinned Nobuyo Hikichi with an Acid Rain Bomb.

A/N: Welcome to the end of March and the halfway point of the Jan-June predictions!

So for this show there was another prediction record at NINE(!) so thank you all so much! No perfect scores as nobody predicted the opening match draw, which I didn't expect anyone to tbh but the Stars are going to be around for a little while to sure up the tag ranks for the time being. So we had lieon02, kjarvs and shawn_waters pick up 7/8 scores. Historian, Dalton and 1PWfan score 6/8. Theheel score 5/8. ohiodevil score 4/8 and Herrbear score 3/8. The winner of the predictions for the whole month of March is Kjarvs with a very good 12/13 correct, only missing on the Past Masters vs Rock City Stars draw!

So for the half-year, only counting those who have predicted on at least 3 shows so far the rankings are such:

    1. Kjarvs - 82.93% correct

    2. 1PWfan & Theheel - 78.95%

    3. Historian - 75.61%

    4. lieon02 - 70.73%

    5. Herrbear - 60%

    6. EpicCorey - 40.74%

Also brief honourable mention to lieon02 and Hitman74 who created the gimmicks for Snake-Eyes and Don Dollars respectively.

  2. How big is your roster at this point? Any big roster moves?

With the newest crop of TCW graduates the roster is 36 workers deep at the end of March, with two road agents in the form of Sam Keith and Tamara McFLy and two refs with Jay Fair and Andy Gordy (formerly of 4C). Plus there's the likes of Quentin Queen and Remmy Honeyman who I bring in often enough that I'm going to be referring to them by name rather than just Local Talent, despite them not currently being signed to the roster full time.

In terms of big moves very little of note has happened on my roster since Guillotine got called up and Frankie-Boy is the only guy who's been poached but I didn't really consider him "mine" since in my mind he was a CZCW guy just helping flesh out the main event scene while I built Seth and Alphaville as a whole.

BUT there is something very big coming up in mid-April just after the first April show so keep your eyes peeled for that.

The show began with Lisa Bowen standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone, “I’ve realised something these last few weeks,” she began, “I’ve realised I’m at my best when I’m behind a group who knows how to get it done in the ring. Let’s be real The Heartbreak Express had its time in the sun, but this company needs new faces to push it forward, and in my hands, what was old is new again. I got talking to a man, and we saw eye-to-eye, that this company was being taken over by outsiders. Joey Fili? Jaylon Martins? I mean come on, has anybody checked if that dumb fox has rabies? So let me introduce you to the first member of the Baltimore Protection Agency, Josh Jacobs!”

    S6XMtek.jpg

Josh Jacobs came out to the ring and hugged Lisa Bowen and made a spectacle of presenting her with a “Protector of Baltimore” t-shirt before she continued. “Of course it wouldn’t be much of an agency with only one member, so let me introduce you to the rest of our little team, all those who have been slighted by management, who have seen opportunities taken away in favour of those kids from TCW or the ‘indie darlings’ you people are so quick to drool over.”

    fow0KIp.jpgO6W2kJW.jpgJGCK6lR.jpg3iUpf59.jpgo5swv69.jpg

Ade Nelson, Deuce Deadline, Jonah Pilgrim and Two Man Riot came down the ramp and joined Jacobs and Bowen in the ring, all wearing “Protector of Baltimore” t-shirts.

“We are the B.P.A and we are going to rid Baltimore of her invaders.”

    • Two Man Riot stuck in the ring and awaited their opponents, Kyle Diamond and Gordon Shearer, Lionhearts.

    • Diamond started in the ring with Copperhead and the size difference between the two men made the difference in the early stages of the match. Diamond bullied both Copperhead and Trix Triumph, while Shearer wowed the crowd with his high-flying offence.

    • Things took a turn when Two Man Riot showed their willingness to cheat by raking the eyes of Kyle Diamond on the outside and then throwing him, shoulder first, into the ring post.

    • Two Man Riot worked Shearer over with a series of double team moves before Copperhead put him away with the Copper Bottom

    • In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Two Man Riot defeated Lionhearts in 7:50 when Copperhead pinned Gordon Shearer with a Copper Bottom.

    • Martins brought the fight to Cheetah Boy, shocking the veteran slightly who came into the match expecting an easy win.

    • Unfortunately for Martins he ran out of steam and was easily picked off by the Flying Cheetah Pounce.

    • Ho Tinh hit most of his most impactful moves, spending much of the match’s runtime standing in the ring, waiting for Dreadnought to come down to fight him.

    • Seemingly satisfied that his match was going to go uninterrupted, Ho Tinh sent Williams flying with a Dam Lao backfist, and then finished him with the Strong Blockbuster.

    • When they got into the ring and the bell rang, Guillotine took control by hitting Blaze with a big boot.

    • Guillotine worked Blaze down with hard strikes in the corner, and the former Mid Atlantic Champion looked to be on the ropes for much of the match.

    • Blaze found a window of opportunity by avoiding a Sideswipe Knee, he capitalised with a series of big clotheslines followed by the Dallas Drop.

Sam Keith was joined in the ring by Acid II and Simon Ice of Devil May Care and Sean Noggin and Sione Tokoeka of The Wolf Pack. “Now boys, I want things nice and clean you hear me? Put pen to paper and then you’re off for the night.”

Simon Ice pulled the contract over to himself and smiled at Noggin and Tokoeka, “I nearly beat these two by myself last year, with Acid by my side this’ll be easier than getting a Tory elected”, said the Brit.

Tokoeka snatched the contract from Ice and signed without saying a word, only snarling at Devil May Care.

Tokoeka passed the contract to his partner, Noggin put pen to paper then threw it to Acid II. “I think we can all agree we want a good, clean contest, right gentlemen?” Noggin asked.

Acid II signed his name then asked “Of course, why wouldn’t we?”

Noggin and Tokoeka smiled at each other, then leapt from their chairs and pounced on both members of Devil May Care, knocking Sam Keith to the floor in the process. The pair pummelled Simon Ice into the mat, threw him from the ring and then finished things off by delivering a double powerbomb to Acid II through the table.

“Because you’ll be lucky to make it to the match, that’s why.” Noggin said before dropping the microphone on Acid’s lifeless body and departing the ring with Tokoeka.

    • Legendary luchador Pablo Rodriguez was making his first appearance in MAW here against fan favourite Miller Fforde, coming off the back of back-to-back defeats to Seth Whitehead.

    • Rodriguez has slowed down considerably over the last year, but his knowledge of how to wear an opponent down through the classic rudo style is second to none, and he put Miller Fforde through the wringer during this match.

    • Fforde started strong but found himself on the receiving end of a series of holds and strikes designed to take him out at the knees, to stop his own athletic style.

    • Fforde did battle back, fighting out of an STF and hitting a big spinning heel kick before landing his springboard moonsault on Rodriguez.

    • Fforde hit a series of high impact moves before landing the Fforde Flip Face Crusher, extending Fforde’s winning streak over middle aged men to 3.

    • In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Miller Fforde defeated Pablo Rodriguez in 19:07 by pinfall with a Fforde Flip Face Crusher.

A/N: A show fairly light on matches, and heavy on angles to set things up moving into the Summer.

On the prediction side of things we had nobody get less than 3 which I did expect just because this was something of a transitional show for me. So we had newcomer shawn_waters, 1PWfan, and kjarvs score the perfect 5/5. lieon02 and Theheel score 4/5 while Historian and EpicCorey took home 3/5 scores.

Keep an eye out for next month's show in a few days as that is where I will be doing an update on the standings for the Jan-June prediction competition!

  13. Played for over a year in game time now - through to August 2021, and its been awesome so far thanks so much. My first playthrough has been Shimmer.

One thing i have seen alot of is the copious amounts of retirements - in some workers its understandable as their physical condition degrades and their matches get worse, but there's some still having good matches and condition over 80 that just seem to retire when they hit 38-40- Shayna baszler retired in April 2021.

Is this something with TEW where it retires on ages or can anything be tweaked to let some hang on in, as we are seeing people staying active into their 40's these days.

Not sure if it is the same for the mens side of things, since i am primarily after female workers.

I think I've written this message for the last couple of TEWs, so time to write it again.

    There is no difference in the code between men and women when it comes to retiring. The factors that go into retirement are the same, which include ;

    Retirement Age

    Overness

    Employment

    Attributes *NEW*

    Being In Year 1

    The Cornellverse

As we all know, workers will retire when they hit their retirement age, which is modelled on a bell curve with the majority of people hitting between about 35 and 42. The full range is 25 to 65, while other age related factors like Maturity ( up to 30), Decline (from 30) and relevancy (from 45) are other factors. So while many ppeople would expect someone to be in decline before they retire, the system is set up deliberately so that people could retire while still very much on the rise. Regardless of gender.

People who have gained a high degree of overness (and therefore earning potential) will choose to stick around longer because they can make money.

People who currently have a well paying job will also stick around longer. Someone with a bunch of guaranteed money, working for a major company will stick around longer too.

One thing that can modify this very deliberately are the new attributes for "Wrestling In The Blood" and "Outside Interests", which will see people either stay longer of leave sooner if you have them set.

If someone has stuck around beyond their retirement age due to the above factors, the likelihood of them retiring next year will increase a little. So factors for reasons to stay working/making moiney become less important over time. The further someone gets beyond their retirement age, the more likely they are to retire.

The reason we see so may retirements specifically in year 1 is that there are a bunch of people who could potentially have rolled retirement numbers where they should have retired this year, last year, the year before etc.... with very little time (12 months) for any of those workers to change their base situation that means you will always see more retirements in the first year as the game balances itself out around this.

And the reason that WOMEN retire so early in the Cornellverse and in real world mods? There are very few women who are over enough for that to be a factor in them sticking around. There are very few older women active in any companies big enough to count as major, so that doesn't stop them retiring. Most people are playing converted mods so attributes won't be used yet to encourage people to stick around long. And so as a result, it often looks like women are retiring younger.... in reality, they just don't have a reason to stick around so they retire at the ages they've hit. And with so many more employment opporunities for men in most mods, they tend to have more reasons to stick around.

Which brings me back to a last thought... when so many women's workers do retire early, if you have regens on that means a whole generation is about to debut in a year too. And there is a lot off freshly retired talent out there who could make a return through the Talk To Worker feature too if you grow your company. In the Cornellverse that hopefully makes for a lot of potential for a women's revolution.

This is from Derek B. Women retire earlier typically as their work has historically been undervalued once they neared their 30s a few decades ago and their 40s until very recently. There are exceptions but as things stand without good overness and solid work women are just systemically predisposed to retiring due to lower general popularity and lower levels of employment which is especially true for the unemployed AAA veterans in this year's C-verse

  14. TopRopeElbow.com: 5 New TCW Graduates Join MAW Roster

Five men have joined the Mid Atlantic Wrestling roster from the class of seven School of Pro Wrestling graduates who have been promoted by TCW. It has been said that all seven were vetted my MAW owner Sam Keith, but two of the men were not a good fit for the backstage atmosphere of MAW, we will go through each here to allow you to get acquainted to the men who will be debuting on WrestleWorld soon.

    4H2Fhtu.jpg

First, we have Edwin McKing, a young high flyer whose Daredevil style may remind some fans of MAW’s own Simon Ice. At 24-years-old he is the oldest man to graduate from the School of Pro Wrestling, and at 5-feet-5-inches he is by far the shortest graduate to join the MAW roster, but his natural charisma may see him becoming a leading man in a few years.

    g86GjpT.jpg

Secondly is a man the near opposite of Edwin in every way. Gregory Tully is a Nevada native, standing 6-feet-9-inches, with what some have described as a “charisma deficiency”. Although men of his size usually play monster heels, Tully appears adept at getting a crowd on his side and his eye catching Ice Crunch finisher, a kind of inverted DDT where he lifts his opponents off the ground before planting them, will set him apart in MAW, even if he does struggle on the bigger stages of the industry.

    tFHkbCf.jpg

The third man on our list is Luis Azaria, who seems to have a great understanding of working the crowd on the microphone, backed up by a brawling style reminiscent of a young Rich Money, the young man from Cameron, North Carolina may be able to overcome his total lack of star quality. Early reports suggest he is a complete heel and will struggle to ever carry a company as a figurehead due to this.

    LzgWi9w.jpg

Paul Jurkiewicz is a man with a proud heritage. The New Yorker is descended from both Polish and Mexican immigrants and wears that history on his sleeve. Although he appears to be lacking somewhat in in-ring fundamentals, his ability to play either a heart-on-his-sleeve underdog, or a slimy heel will at least give him a solid character to build upon as he progresses.

    mHVoUbe.jpg

Finally, is Samson Elwes, who appears to have a solid grasp of every aspect of professional wrestling without particularly excelling at any one thing. Unfortunately, like Tully, his natural predisposition to playing the face is tempered by a lack of charisma and that elusive ‘it’ factor that could see somebody make it as a star at the top of the industry.

“I’m telling you they’re real man, they’re out there”

    “The… aliens?”

“That’s right, and I’m not talking about little green dudes with big eyes, I’m talking creatures beyond our comprehension. They’re watching us, making sure if we ever discover space travel that they’re there to blow up the planet so we can’t go colonizing other worlds.”

“And they’re going to blow us up because?”

“They’ve seen all of human history man, they know what humans do to each other, do you think they’d let us loose on the galaxy? They’re letting us live as long as we remain in isolation.”

“Y’know Duke, when you said you wanted to hang out, I really didn’t think it would be to talk about your alien conspiracies.”

“But it’s not a conspiracy! Look, I intercepted a transmission a couple of months ago I intercepted a deep space transmission. I haven’t been able to decode it, but if I can figure this thing out it could be huge, it could blow this whole thing wide open.”

“What does your deep space transmission sound like?”

“Well, like static mostly, but I feel good about this one, there’s something to this I’m telling you.”

“Last time you intercepted a deep space transmission wasn’t it just like, scrambled police radio?”

“That’s not the point! This is real, I can feel it.”

“If you say so man, but I don’t think this is good for you. I mean, are you focusing on your wrestling? How is that going for you?”

“Yeah, yeah. Wrestling is fine, I’m good.”

“And you’re focusing on it, properly right? You’re dedicating more time to training that you are to this alien stuff, right?”

    “Oh yeah, definitely.”

    “And that isn’t a lie?”

    “Not a lie.”

“So, what’re you going to do when you get home?”

“Oh, you know, maybe watch a documentary, eat something.”

    “What kind of documentary, Duke?”

    “Wrestling…”

    “A wrestling documentary?”

    “Yep. Wrestling documentary.”

“Okay man, I’ve got to go, I have work in the morning. Really, take your mind off this alien stuff, before it starts affecting you.”

“Yeah, okay, okay. No more aliens, got it.”

  16. Catching up on all of this. The shows are great man! Very fun to read and easy on the eyes. Seth Whitehead as MAW Champion is something I never would've thought to do myself, so bravo for thinking outside of the box!

I'll be following a lot more often now!

Thanks! I had the idea for the TCW stable headed by Seth the moment I saw the MAW roster and I figured there was no better way to make him a real threat than to put the belt on him, plus he's the most ready of the TCW guys for it right now.

    • Blaze came out looking all business to go up against the ever-cocky Harvey Robbinfield, who as far as the record books are concerned holds a victory over the former Mid Atlantic Champion.

    • The two got the show off to a roaring start, with Blaze’s hard strikes a good march for Robbinfield’s technical style and athleticism.

    • The crowd jeered everything Robbinfield did, especially after hitting Blaze with a big dropkick and shouting “You’ll never be this good!” at the downed cowboy.

    • Robbinfield’s cockiness became his downfall as his showboating between moves allowed Blaze enough time to catch his breath and make a big comeback before hitting Robbinfield with the Dallas Drop.

    • In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Bradley Blaze defeated Harvey Robbinfield in 8:26 by pinfall with a Dallas Drop.

    Rating: 43

    eyU1RfU.jpg

Bradley Blaze threw Harvey Robbinfield out of the ring and called for a microphone. He stood in the ring and held the mic up to address the crowd. “Some of y’all out there, watching at home are probably wondering what happened two weeks ago between me and Miller Fforde. Some of y’all are probably even thinking I’ve got some sour grapes because he beat me in the semi-finals of the Rip Chord Invitational. The truth is, yeah, I lost. I’m human. Miller’s a quick thinker. He saw an opportunity and he took it and I’m not taking anything away from him. But the fact of the matter is I won’t fall for the same trick twice, and if Miller Fforde ever steps to me in this ring again I’ll drop him on his head and pin him just like I did to win the Mid Atlantic Championship.”

Blaze received a mixed reaction at his claims from a crowd that love both he and Miller Fforde in equal measure before continuing. “But on to more pressing matters. December 2020 was a hard one for me. I lost the Mid Atlantic Championship. I fought off three guys and Seth Whitehead before one man, the only man in Alphaville who could take me down struck. Guillotine! You’re one mean son of a b*tch and you better be ready for Charm City Collision because I’ve had a word with Sam Keith and you and I are going to be having a match now that I’ve done away with Mister Omega.”

    • Lisa Bowen walked to the ring with Johnny Needham, staring at her phone the whole time. This was in stark contrast to Guillotine who followed Duke Freeman to the ring with a quiet intensity rarely seen in Mid Atlantic Wrestling.

    • The two locked up and worked a very even match, with Johnny Needham feeding off the support of the crowd to counteract the technically superior Duke Freeman.

    • Guillotine climbed onto the ring apron to argue with the referee over what he felt was a slow count on a cover by Freeman. While this was going on Needham managed to pull himself to his feet only to be hit with a low blow from behind by Lisa Bowen.

    • Needham doubled over and was then pulled into the centre of the ring and locked in the Texas Cloverleaf and forced to tap out.

    • After the match Bowen got in the ring and spat on her now former charge before strolling backstage by herself.

    • In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Duke Freeman defeated Johnny Needham in 8:16 by submission with a Texas Cloverleaf. During the match we also had Lisa Bowen turn on Needham.

    • The opening minutes of the match, one would struggle to call even, as Shearer bounced off the ropes and into Dreadnought who merely shrugged his shoulders at everything his smaller opponent threw at him.

    • Once Dreadnought responded the result was a foregone conclusion. Shearer was thrown around like a ragdoll and then pasted to the canvas with a big Dread Bomb.

    • In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Dreadnought defeated Gordon Shearer in 4:26 by pinfall with a Dread Bomb.

His expression was stoic as usual and the man of few words began to speak.

“Dreadnought. I know your father Dreadnought; I have done my research and the archives have revealed that your father was a man of great evil. I do not believe evil is hereditary, you could have broken the cycle of evil which has plagued your family. But you chose to embrace the path your father blazed for you. • Contrary to how things usually begin, DeMarcus & Gray attacked before the bell and the action spilled outside the ring almost straight away.

    • This fell in favour of Two Man Riot, who worked meaner than ever and punished their opponents by throwing them into the guard rails, ring steps and even over the announce table and onto Marvin Earnest.

    • Triumph rolled Tyrone Gray into the ring and went for an early cover but the former Mid Atlantic Tag Team champion managed to get a shoulder up.

    • Two Man Riot kept control for much of the match until Gray managed to tag in Nate DeMarcus who came turned things around completely as he threw his smaller opponents around with ease before he and Gray hit the Rocket Launcher.

    • In a decent match, DeMarcus & Gray defeated Two Man Riot in 12:25 when Nate DeMarcus pinned Copperhead with a Rocket Launcher.

Sandman Winks and The Historian joined DeAnna Desire on the staging area before Winks title defence. “So Past Masters you have had a strong run in Mid Atlantic Wrestling for the last few months, and you have teased a big announcement, so may I ask what it is you two have to announce?”

Winks took the microphone and nodded to DeAnna, “Well if you must know DeAnna, Historian and I, as you all should know brought Dreadnought to Mid Atlantic Wrestling. We looked back to the past and found wrestling’s future. But if there’s one thing that holds true, it is that the past failings of this company are a blight on the wrestling industry. For every legendary Vessey or Keith who has come through this place, there has been failures abound. • Miller Fforde and Seth Whitehead locked up on the opening bell and worked a relatively straightforward championship encounter in the opening stages of this match.

    • Whitehead claimed on social media that he could beat Miller Fforde without on his own without cheating and he looked to be doing that as he managed to outwrestle Fforde at every turn of the opening few minutes.

    • Fforde battled back, hitting high risk moves including a tornado DDT that saw Whitehead land right on the top of his head.

    • The champion showed great resilience to kick out of every big move Fforde threw at him, and even managed to avoid Fforde’s now trademark Moonsault spot, which allowed him to take the advantage back in the match.

    • Whitehead ground Fforde down, locking in a series of submission holds, including a sharpshooter which seemed to go on endlessly as Fforde writhed in pain on the canvas, desperately scratching and clawing until he got his fingertips to the ropes.

    • Fforde battled back, but when he went to run off the ropes, Harvey Robbinfield snagged his ankle. Fforde turned around and that small distraction was all Seth Whitehead needed to land a brainbuster and transition straight into the Minnesota Stretch, forcing Miller Fforde to tap out for the second time in February.

    • In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, Seth Whitehead defeated Miller Fforde in 22:09 by submission with a Minnesota Stretch after interference from Harvey Robbinfield. Seth Whitehead makes defence number one of the Mid Atlantic Championship title.

This was a relatively predictable show but since these off-peak shows (the Feb-Jun period) are lower importance in my mind than the rest so I think it makes sense to keep them a little simpler.

So final scores were Historian, lieon02, Kjarvs, MisterRomanini and Theheel with 6/6, Herrbear with 5/6, 1PWfan with 4/6 (The one time you bet against The Past Masters ay?) and then EpicCorey with 3/6.

I'm going to leave the half-year scoreboard off this show and the next show, update at the end of March and then the end of each month going forward!

Best of luck with predictions in the future and congratulations to Historian for winning the competition this month with only 1 incorrect prediction across the two shows!

  18. We are really close to The Hangman Open Challenge being done -- I wanted to do it over the first year or so to see how he'd develop as a talent. He was really green and I wanted a chance to see what kind of destiny roll he might have so I could better plan for his spot in the company (the same can be said for all of the young talents really. There are so many unknown variables with them that you have to give them a chance to work for a bit and see what happens. I've never been afraid of low match ratings and I've never been afraid of letting talent develop and hopefully we are getting there!

The open challenge must be really detrimental to Hangman's experience compared to other young talent, I've noticed in my game that it's really heavily weighted to match length and let's face it he isn't exactly working a prime Ric Flair schedule

  19. I have to say this is a really good MAW diary and I’m sorry I didn’t start reading it sooner. I’m only 4 shows in so far but they have been really enjoyable. Looks like your about 9 shows ahead of me but I’ll be catching up today/tomorrow. If I get closer to where your at I’ll start predicting.

Got some reading to do but just wanted to say well done.

I'm glad you're enjoying things, MAW is a company I really enjoy, although it does feel strange booking a product that I really don't think I would have any interest in watching myself, and some of the new products added in 1.12 have certainly gotten me thinking about other directions I may want to take things in the future.

Also, this is a last call for any predictions for the show, I'm hoping to have it up some time tonight GMT

  20. Something super minor but Larry D in Impact is nearly 20 years in-ring experience but his actual experience stat is like 2. I assume this is the case for a lot of people since the experience seems to just do whatever it wants upon conversion but he's one I spotted while messing about with stuff.

Also Penelope Ford and Kip Sabian are engaged rather than just dating.
