9th June 2020 The card for the first round of NEW JAPAN CUP 2020 which begins on June 16th has been announced. This year 16 wrestlers will participate. In the tournament, the matches will take place June 16th, June 21st, June 23rd, June 24th at an undisclosed location with no fans in attendance while the final will be on June 29th at Osaka-Jo Hall. The winner will earn the right to challenge Tetsuya Naito, the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental champion, at Osaka-Jo Hall on June 30th. The first return event will be June 15th for Together Project, matches for this event will be announced at the beginning of the show. Jay White and Kazuchika Okada conducted interviews with the NJPW website after the news of the return, here are some highlights. Jay White noted he was in Florida currently and would not be in Japan for the return shows, when pressed about if this frustrates him he shrugged saying there are other factors in play currently out of his control. Regarding the lack of fans at the shows Jay said it wouldn't make any difference to his gameplan as he only relies on himself and not the crowd to give him an extra little bit of energy. Before events were cancelled several months ago, Jay was scheduled to face Okada in the first round of the New Japan Cup. When asked about Okada, Jay said that while he has his differences with Okada he isn't a priority or a target as he doesn't hold any titles. Okada started his interview talking about how proud he was of the work he and New Japan had done in recent times with the Together Project including personally taking up a radio slot on TokyoFM on Sundays and contributing to the Japan Relief Fund. Shifting focus towards in ring action, Okada was confident in his ability saying that he has to be in the final as he'd been in every Dominion main event since it moved to Osaka-Jo Hall in 2015 and it had to stay that way. When asked about what he'd plan if he won the opportunity to challenge Tetsuya Naito, he said he was only interested in the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Back in March, Okada said that 2020 had the chance to be the biggest year in wrestling and that he still believes it can be however the focus for now must be on showcasing New Japan Pro Wrestling shunning a possibility of an all-star card but didn't rule it out for 2021 and beyond.

At midday local time in Tokyo on the 9th of June, fans all around the world turned to NJPWWorld for a video presentation from chairman Naoki Sugabayashi with the news that everyone had been waiting for. New Japan Pro Wrestling was set to return with its first show in 110 days on the 15th of June. The King of Sports was back.

Not being able to create custom products is an incredibly terrible choice and one I'm not sure why was ever even considered as a possibility to be changed to from the system used for 2016.

Ran a sim to see what issues my converted save would have, this is definitely how I see the WCW Title going if they never closed.

Creating a current day RW mod is an impossible job and I don't envy anyone who takes the time to do it. There is no basis or guideline for modders to create the world off as C-Verse is not even close to the real world. If there was a direct comparison of e.g. we know John Cena is 90 Popularity then it would help scale the rest of the world. With that said, is the popularity rating catered toward a casual fan or the 1% most hardcore fan that goes out of their way to consume and involve themselves in conversations via podcasts, social media etc. We don't know so it's purely left up to interpretation of the mod maker. To end my rambling, there is no guideline for what popularity is so it's going to be completely subjective.

Question for people, what does everyone prefer? For companies where their pictures are transparent background I usually go white backgrounds as it works best with lighting. See below For other companies there pictures aren't transparent and in the case of IMPACT have a grey background. For these companies would you prefer the pictures cut to a white background so there is more uniformity with at least the other major promotions (WWE, AEW, NJPW?) and more well known wrestlers? New update out this weekend, belts & events completely overhauled and probably close to 1.5k new pictures combined. There's two versions, one compatible fully with RWC and another for KTB that has workers compatible but belts & events need some work which I'll do next week.

Issue with gifs is it A) requires cutting images and B) there were about 4k workers in Flesich's mod when I first started this pack a few years ago and at minimum 500 of them have no up to date good quality pictures so they'd look terrible. Plus at the risk of sounding like a dick, I make the pack for me and I prefer the organic style. If there are any specific images / wrestlers you want changing and they're from a major company DM me and I can do it for you. It's fine, there hasn't been an update since the release of TEW 2020 so anyone that already played 2016 and was interested already had it. Plus the main current day mod that I've seen most people using is KTB which isn't compatible with this mod yet, that'll change with the next update as it's only minor name changes needed. Progress on the update is going well, belts are fully updated while events are 2/3 done. After that it's just stable logos left.
