6. DWA lost Rich Swann to me. No major signings or injuries. Lots of broadcasting expansion. Bound for Glory had a 75 rating. No popularity change in the US yet, but some growth in other markets. The Fiend is the world champion, Jeff Hardy is the US.
 7.
Another big show in the books:

Stampede Wrestling announced a working agreement with the new Ring of Honor federation.

Charlie Haas announced his retirement lately. And a serious injury has taken out BUSHI for a year.

In darker news, PWG is in trouble. Once a National force they are starting to look more like a Cult fed. The good news is, they just signed Seth Rollins and if anyone can turn it around, it's The Architect.

Any interest in a draft in December? I would be willing to help but I'm not much of a modder to make the final product.

 10.
ARDA: Welcome to our special Aftermath coverage of Stampede Harts and Minds. Jon Stewart, Sensational Sherri, let’s get to it. Opening segment, Cena and Jericho face-to-face.

JON: Cena gave his usual babyface chasing the title spiel.

SHERRI: I thought Jericho was the stronger one here.

CLIP

JERICHO: Listen to me you sanctimonious, self-important sad-sack! I made this even. Randy Orton isn’t even here tonight. And your pal, Dwayne? He’ll be busy with a match of his own, against the OGz! And that’s why I’ll be Better Man champion forever. Because not only am I smarter than you, I am the best in the world at what I do!

END CLIP

SHERRI: It was well orchestrated.

JON: Word broke on the internet that Orton might not make the show, so it wasn’t even clear if this was a kayfabe absence or a case of real life getting in the way.

ARDA: It’s still odd they keep setting up singles matches as the main event in a tag fed.

(Segment rating 95)

ARDA: The action kicked off next, with the American Wolves knocking off The Dudleys.

JON: This is what we’ve been saying the Dudleys role should be. Losing to slightly less over teams.

SHERRI: Eddie’s roll up of Devon made the win seems a bit like a fluke, but it capped off a match that was quite decent.

ARDA: I think the two teams’ collective experience carried them to a solid performance.

(Segment rating 81)

JON: That’s more than we can say about The Kingdom beating ACH and Rich Swann. Neither the wrestling nor the crowd interest was there on this one.

SHERRI: And Matt Taven pins ACH. No surprises.

(Segment rating 67)

ARDA: Team Canada versus Blame Canada is a match that had to happen.

JON: Blame Canada needs to be split up or cut. Shawn Spears and Petey Williams just don’t work together. So they can be jobbed down to obscurity or things can be shaken up.

SHERRI: I agree. The only mild surprise here was Young getting the pin, rather than Roode.

ARDA: Young’s Wheelbarrow Neckbreaker looked awesome.

SHERRI: But Roode was the star overall. Spears looked like an amateur compared to him.

(Segment rating 74)

ARDA: Undertaker and Big Show finally have a confrontation with Bret Hart.

SHERRI: Bret looked a little too calm in the face of the pair. I think it hurt the angle.

JON: But they make a good point. They’re two marquee names and they haven’t had a title shot.

ARDA: They haven’t exactly been tearing the house down match quality wise.

SHERRI: They drafted these two and I’m not sure they had plans for them.

JON: They’re still draws. They still cut good promos. So Stampede is painted into a corner. What do you do with two huge names you can’t rely on to wrestle?

(Segment rating 91)

ARDA: Up next, Stampede continues to try to build Mi Familia by putting them over Natural Selection.

JON: Does that mean much, these days?

SHERRI: You expect better wrestling from these four than we got.

ARDA: These are some of the less experienced teams on the roster. They’ll get better in time.

(Segment rating 67)

JON: I love how New Day decided to have their victory party before the match. And the way they ran verbal circles around Kevin Steen-

SHERRI: Which is not easy to do.

JON: It was entertaining. Woods is still acting too heelish for New Day’s style. I hope that changes.

ARDA: Shout out to El Generico and his awesome looks of confusion.

(Segment rating 76)

ARDA: Lethal and Dutt and Bram and Kingston continue to be little more than filler on the card. Despite that, they put on a solid match.

SHERRI: Jay Lethal was the star.

JON: That flying elbow drop was an “Ohhhhhhh Yeah!” moment.

(Segment rating 71)

ARDA: Also filed under filler: Ciampa and Rhino beat Titus Worldwide.

SHERRI: Decent wrestling, a match that could have headlined an old school Ring of Honor show.

JON: Eric Bischoff’s interference paid off.

(Segment rating 70)

ARDA: The Rhodes Scholars and The New Hart Foundation are becoming serious contenders in the tag division.

SHERRI: Which is hot as hell.

ARDA: So they face each other. Did the winner surprise either of you.

JON: Well, I surprised Aaron Stevens pinned Davey Boy Smith. I’d have expected Cody to pin Teddy. Same winner either way but here the less over of one side beats the more over of the other.

SHERRI: That’s not exactly a shocker. It’s risky to get too predictable in wrestling.

ARDA: Stevens grabbing the tights was a nice touch.

SHERRI: I agree, old school heel all the way.

ARDA: Speaking of the tag belts, that was one heck of a title match.

JON: New Day still have it, Steenerico still have it, and I could see it going either way.

SHERRI: I expected Steenerico to retain. The match, though, lived up to the hype.

ARDA: Big E tapping out to the Sharpshooter is a big deal. That makes these two very credible champions.

(Segment rating 85)

ARDA: Rock versus the OGz?

JON: At least it was short.

SHERRI: Rock dominated in a ring full of men who could retire at any moment. He came out of the train wreck looking the best. That’s not saying much.

(Segment rating 56)

ARDA: Then the big swerve. RKO out of nowhere.

SHERRI: Followed by five minutes of Orton teasing the punt to the head. Complete with six security guards for Orton to RKO.

JON: Problem is he phoned it in like James Franco at the Oscars.

ARDA: Rock was the one beaten down and trying to claw his way to Orton, but he came out of it looking better.

(Segment rating 92)

SHERRI: What a main event.

JON: I’d say the tag title match was better, but this had more crowd reaction.

SHERRI: I was really not sure these two could go thirty minutes and look good doing it.

ARDA: What did you think of the draw ending?

JON: The story worked. John went up two nothing in a fair fight so Jericho went full blown heel and snuck out a last-second second pin after Cena hit the steel turnbuckle.

SHERRI: Like Jon said, the tag match would have been an even better finale to the show. This looks a little worse by comparison.

ARDA: That seems a little unfair. This was a fine main event and not much worse than Steenerico’s match.

(Segment rating 82)

ARDA: Final thoughts?

JON: No mistakes, some home run promos and some good matches. I don’t know if they attracted many new fans in Canada or the US with this show. I’d imagine it helped them establish an even stronger foothold overseas.

SHERRI: Bret Hart is making this work somehow.

ARDA: Can this continue. Will the grind of five shows a month be too much for anyone on the roster.

JON: And Father Time is looming large over a fair portion of the roster. Can Stampede build new stars to replace them?

ARDA: It’s early to speculate. No reason this federation won’t be around a long time.

(Show rating 84)

 11. ARDA: Hi everybody, welcome back to Aftermath. I’m here with Jon Stewart and The Sensational Sherri. Are you two excited for Harts and Minds? SHERRI: TO quote the late, great, Macho Man: ohhhhhh yeeeaaahhh. JON: I can’t top that. Move on. ARDA: We had one last stop to make so let’s kick it off with the opener. SHERRI: Opening with The New Hart Foundation versus Ciampa and Rhino was a gamble. One thing goes wrong, you lose the crowd’s initial heat. That didn’t happen here. They put on a surprisingly good match for TV. JON: Plus a clean submission by Rhino means Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith are really on a roll. ARDA: Is that a good thing? They’re the kayfabe owner’s family. JON: That makes them loyal. It’s an old argument, do you push talent who could leave tomorrow or do you make your most loyal soldier the backbone of your roster instead. ARDA: The usual suspects were up next. Cena and Rock- JON: The Rock and Jorts Connection. ARDA: Oo-k. They confronted Jericho and Orton one last time. SHERRI: It was really good. But Orton seemed… off. JON: Word is he’s still pissed off Bubba Ray got hired. ARDA: Don’t you hate the backstage drama? JON: It helps keep us employed. ARDA: Touché. (Segment rating 96) SHERRI: I thought the next match was decent. And Mi Familia going over teams like Bram and Kingston is the only way they’ll claw their way up the card. JON: Which we all want them to do. (Segment rating 62) ARDA: Dudley Boys over Shaun Richter and Brian Cage, did the right team go over? JON: It wasn’t a bad match, and The Dudleys have to win to stay relevant. I just remember when Shaun Richter, aka Eli Drake, was a big deal in Impact wrestling. It looks like he’s not going to reach those heights here. SHERRI: He might be better off elsewhere. It depends if he wants the money, or a chance to be a top guy. ARDA: I don’t know. The Dudleys are at the tail end of their careers. They need to be passing the torch more and more. (Segment rating 74) ARDA: The non-title tag match, thoughts. JON: Awesome, the wrestling was great and the crowd got into it. SHERRI: New Day beats Steenerico and we’re set up for a title match at Harts and Minds. ARDA: For a company this devoted to tag team wrestling it seems they added this match awfully last minute. (Segment rating 85) ARDA: The Undertaker and Big Show shook down Eric Bischoff for holding them back from a tag title match. JON: This is like going to a Burger King to complain about the Big Mac. Eric doesn’t make matches. SHERRI: Hang on, this is the guy who spent weeks trying to recruit these two by bragging about how much stroke he has. If it was true, he could easily be holding them back. JON: Shaky argument. ARDA: But good angle. (Segment rating 92) SHERRI: The match between the Rhodes Scholars and ACH & Swann was better than I expected, in ring wise. JON: Story wise it was two establish guys beating up two low card guys. The audience wasn’t that into it. ARDA: And Cody winning was the most predictable outcome possible. (Segment 73) JON: Now someone did get the Unholy Alliance a match. SHERRI: Against Titus Worldwide. JON: Some of these guys were wrestling when Apollo Crews was in diapers. ARDA: Same old problem. Three of these guys are past their prime, two by a lot. Nostalgia will only take you so far in a company that advertises being about in-ring action. SHERRI: And, of course, they won. What’s the payoff here? A lousy match against whoever the champions are when they decide to pull the plug on it? ARDA: I guess time will tell. (Segment rating 60) ARDA: Then came the twist of the night. The Rock down, victim of a surprise attack by an unknown assailant. Rock pleads with Cena not to forfeit. He agrees, and must go it alone in the main event. (Segment rating 98) SHERRI: The match ended up being superb. Handicap matches often suffer, especially when they go over 22 minutes. ARDA: Cena just would not stay down. His grit became the story of the match. JON: When The Rock finally arrived I expected a miracle victory; not a screw up. SHERRI: Seemed smart to me. Cena looked strong, yet didn’t go over the top two heels in the country in a handicap match. (Segment rating 82) ARDA: So, good show? JON: Oh, yeah. SHERRI: It set up the big show well. This isn’t really a company about soap opera storylines and cartoon character gimmicks. People fight who they are booked to fight. ARDA: It’s more realistic, but it makes it easier to just skip an episode. JON: It’s quality wrestling without the glitz. The question is, will that keep them at the top? (Overall rating 82)

 14.
ARDA: It’s time for another Aftermath, as the 6th episode of Stampede Wrestling is in the books! Jon Stewart, thoughts on the opening?

JON: Well, seeing The Dudley Boys and Steenerico face off seems like a dream come true.

SHERRI: And they really played off the crowd well.

ARDA: I just don’t feel El Generico as a bad guy, so there’s a disconnect there. And I was nervous if they could carry the main event.

(Segment rating 67)

ARDA: The first match of the night was Mi Familia versus the Bro-Mans.

JON: I’m high on Garza and Ultimo Ninja. Seeing them get a win here warms the cockles of my heart. Maybe even the sub-cockles.

SHERRI: Word is though, that Robbie E got an injury, and Ultimo Ninja is being blamed.

ARDA: Backstage heat is never good for a company.

(Segment rating 65)

SHERRI: Speaking of rising stars, Apollo Crews is still impressing me. Even carrying Titus O’Neil and facing against Bram and Eddie Kingston, he looked good.

JON: Bram and Kingston work together about as well as Democrats and the GOP.

(Segment rating 60)

ARDA: Who here is getting tired of seeing Rock, Jericho, Orton and Cena locked in conflict?

JON: Not me.

SHERRI: Me neither.

JON: More classic stuff here. Both sides claiming the other is keeping them out of tag title contention.

ARDA: Rock wanting a shot at the title makes sense, but he needs to be wrestling less and less these days.

SHERRI: So Rock taunts Jericho, Orton jumps in and promises a shot to Cena instead. That leaves both pairs of partners with beef with their own teammate. And it gives us a Jericho/Cena rematch for Harts and Minds. No complaints here.

JON: It’s nice to get some news that isn’t annoying, about Trump or… well it can’t not be both.

(Segment rating 95)

ARDA: I really like the next match. Big E and Kofi Kingston versus Tomasso Ciampa and Rhino.

JON: Not to mention Xavier Woods and Eric Bischoff at ringside.

SHERRI: Their antics really improved the whole package.

ARDA: New Day are obviously the bigger team, and it showed. But the match was a lot better than I expected it to be.

SHERRI: I agree.

(Segment rating 78)

JON: The next match was no slouch either.

SHERRI: Three-way tags are usually exciting, especially elimination matches.

ARDA: Three of the lower level teams: Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal, The Kingdom and Shaun Richter and Brian Cage. I had that last team pegged as the winners, so I was surprised when Lethal and Dutt went over.

JON: They were the best workers in the mix, so good booking to put them over.

SHERRI: This is supposed to be about in-ring skill, more than entertainment or name value. This did the job.

(Segment rating 72)

ARDA: Rich Swann and ACH versus The American Wolves, thoughts?

JON: The Wolves just shone here.

ARDA: That Kimura by Richards on Swann looked sick.

SHERRI: I thought he might really injure him. It was a stiff hold.

(Segment rating 78)

ARDA: Bret Hart himself got some screen time as The Rhodes Scholars and Blame Canada both came looking for tag title shots.

JON: Can I just say, everyone seems so high on Davey Boy Smith and I just don’t see it. He looked bad here, especially compared to Cody.

SHERRI: Blame Canada stepping up to face any team on the roster was cool, Bret making them face The Unholy Alliance was a nice twist.

(Segment rating 73)

ARDA: Next question: Is Robert Roode ageless?

SHERRI: It sure looked like it here. Eric Young had an off night and Shawn Hernandez is showing his age in that ring.

JON: So is Homicide, though not at much. I hope they are saving for retirement.

(Segment rating 74)

ARDA: Up next, the best of times, the worst of times. A great entrance by Big Show and Undertaker…

(Segment rating 95)

ARDA: Followed by a truly awful match.

SHERRI: If this is indicative of what Taker and Show have left, they’re best trotted out as special attractions in matches with no title implications.

JON: I felt bad for them, and their opponents. You’re not going to impress Dave Meltzer with matches like this one.

(Segment rating 58)

ARDA: Now, the main event. Steenerico finally defend the tag belts.

JON: Against two of the most decorated tag wrestlers in history.

SHERRI: I thought they did well.

ARDA: The wrestling was good actually. The crowd was fairly into it and twenty minutes was the right length for them.

JON: We talked about Robert Roode being ageless, the Dudleys are holding up quite well too.

SHERRI: Letting Steenerico, if not out wrestle The Dudleys, at least out cheat the Dudleys, showedjust how much faith Stampede management has in them.

JON: Not to mention, beating The Dudleys is bucket list worthy.

(Segment rating 78)

ARDA: Stampede’s weekly shows are at almost the level of old school PPVs themselves.

JON: I think five shows a month is a smarter plan than going to nine, or even more.

SHERRI: The roster could be a little larger to get these shows a bit more air time.

ARDA: Word is, at least one offer went out recently. No word on who that team will be.

JON: Maybe it will be the Rock and Roll Express.

SHERRI: It could happen…

ARDA: We’ll see you next time with the go home show before Harts and Minds.

(Overall rating 80)

 15. ARDA: Hey everyone time for a quick recap of the rest of the wrestling world. Some fast growth by other feds, WSX and PWG, already looking to move up in the wrestling world. Showtime appears to have selected Becky Lynch to be their new flagbearer. CECW is reporting strong financial numbers. They’re sitting at the second richest company out there at the moment behind only Stampede itself. On the injury front, Marty Scurll is out for 14 months. Paige got hurt, nothing major, but she may actually be made of glass. Dutch Mantel has retired. And lastly, congratulations go out to JoJo Offerman, who had a healthy baby girl.
 16. ARDA: Welcome back everyone, Arda Ocal here with Jon Stewart and Sherri Martel. We’re all set to recap the latest Stampede Forever! SHERRI: I loved the main story of the show. Jericho and Orton, given the choice that only one of them could compete against Jon Cena tonight, and the other would face The Rock in the opener? Brilliant. JON: I was surprised to see Jericho get the nod. We know Randy Orton has the ego of, maybe not Donald Trump, but maybe one of his more overlooked children. ARDA: What do you suspect when you think Rock vs. Orton. SHERRI: I expect a match with a ton of crowd heat and decent wrestling, I’d say that’s exactly what we got. JON: Say what you will, I love The People’s Elbow. Seeing Rock win with it makes me feel like a kid again. (Segment rating 81) ARDA: I thought the contract signing with Cena and Jericho was excellent. SHERRI: The only weak spot was Kevin Kelly. I wish Stampede could find someone stronger. ARDA: I’m not sure there’s anyone out there right now. JON: Ignoring that, they really dug into each other. Cena ripped into Jericho for his weak TV career and unsuccessful band. SHERRI: And Jericho chose to go serious and portray Cena as being a joke, not just at this stage in his career, but at every stage in his career. And for Cena to surrender the choice of stipulation? Nice touch. JON: Jericho’s choice of a cage seemed odd. SHERRI: I was convinced he truly wanted to beat John. No tricks. No controversy. Once and for all. (Segment rating 100) ARDA: Up next, it was nice to see The Kingdom get a win. JON: It’s just too bad Rich Swann and ACH are spirally to jobber town. SHERRI: Bennett needing to use the ropes for the pin softened the blow. ARDA: I do think they really went all out on this one. I appreciate that. But even that wasn’t enough to really make it up to par. (Segment rating 66) ARDA: Eric Bischoff continues to lead Ciampa and Rhino to success. This time they beat Titus Worldwide. JON: Not much of a match. Titus still looks like he’s in over his head. SHERRI: Apollo Crews impressed me. He keeps improving. If he can keep it up he has a huge upside. (Segment rating 67) ARDA: What did you think of the Big Show and Undertaker’s vow to take the tag titles? SHERRI: It was… stilted somehow. They just weren’t as menacing as usual. JON: I still would not want to tangle with either of them. (Segment rating 83) ARDA: The eight-man tag pairing the Dudleys and the New Hart Foundation versus all of LAX- SHERRI: Bram, Eddie Kingston, Shawn Hernandez and Homicide, that is. ARDA: Thoughts? JON: It’s weird to see guys who could have main evented in some feds before the Great Suit, being forced so low on the card in this new age. SHERRI: So far, this looks less than stellar compared to the rest of the card. However, shows need high points and low points. Crowds like to surge, calm, build, surge. All more than once in a show. JON: So it’s filler. SHERRI: No, it’s still an important part of the show. Most episodic TV has b-plots, even c-plots. ARDA: Great insight, Sherri. ARDA: Davey Boy Smith’s Saito Suplex looked good. Hernandez really sold it for the pin. (Segment rating 61) SHERRI: It’s too bad Garza Jr and his cousin aren’t winning yet. ARDA: Don’t you think Brian Cage and Shaun Richter- JON: Dummy, yeah! ARDA: Don’t you think they needed the win more. SHERRI: How is it ever going to pay off for them if no one will put them over? JON: I agree, I think Garza is a future star. I hope Bret Hart agrees. (Segment Rating 56) ARDA: When it comes to New Day, sometimes all three of them take equal roles. Sometimes, Woods acts more like he’s managing the other two. SHERRI: Sounds right. JON: Here, with Big E doing nothing but eating pancakes Kofi frisbeed him. SHERRI: He looked like Cookie Monster the way he was eating. That was funny. ARDA: Xavier is good on the microphone, of course. Next time, let them all talk. (Segment rating 76) ARDA: The next match was amazing. SHERRI: I could not believe The American Wolves went over twenty minutes against Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt on worldwide TV. JON: But was the crowd really into it? To a purist, it was awesome. To a casual fan, maybe not so much? ARDA: I think Stampede tries to appeal to both. SHERRI: In the end, I think they care more about the product than the popularity. JON: Not overwhelmingly. SHERRI: No. ARDA: Good old fashioned chair shot when the ref is out finish. Eddie hit Lethal hard on that one. SHERRI: Did you see Sanjay lamost blow the finish? He came too fast to break up the pin and that fake stumble he did to cover looked just that, fake. (Segment rating 82) ARDA: You had to wonder how long it would be before Team Canada faced Blame Canada. SHERRI: And the payoff wasn’t worth it. JON: Bobby Roode looked good out there. His Fujiwara Armbar to tap out Shawn Spears really looked painful. (Segment rating 63) SHERRI: What did you two think of the confrontation between the Rhodes Scholars and Steenerico? JON: Generico needs to talk more. The whole Penn & Teller thing isn’t working any more. SHERRI: Steen was convincing in giving Cody and Stevens respect, while also saying they hadn’t earned a title shot yet. ARDA: I thought it went well. JON: Hopefully, they’ll defend the belts next week. (Segment rating 77) ARDA: Now, the main event. John Cena. Chris Jericho. A steel cage. The Better Man title. SHERRI: Looks great on paper. JON: Ten years ago this would have been a classic. Today, it was still great. ARDA: They gave it 21 minutes, the crowd was totally into it. JON: But at this stage in their careers, the wrestling was not quite up to snuff. SHERRI: How about that finish though. Reversing an FU into a Code Breaker? From the second turnbuckle? JON: Yeah, a clean win for Jericho. No controversy at all. ARDA: A new champion, on a monthly show. That’s a big deal. Stampede is showing us they’re willing to throw in some twists. (Segment rating 75) ARDA: Summing up? SHERRI: Not as good as last time. JON: Have to agree. (Overall rating 79)
 17. Mod is WEC Never Die, starting January 1997. I pay high bonuses. 500k for fight of the night, 250k for KO and submission.
 18.
ARDA: Welcome back to Aftermath, and another Stampede Forever show. With me as always, Jon Stewart and the Sensational Sherri.

SHERRI: Great to see you both again.

ARDA: So, the question of the week, were you as surprised as I was when John Cena’s opening promo was interrupted-

JON: Never.

ARDA: Clever. But this time, it was New Day who cut him off.

JON: The days of PG are over after this one.

SHERRI: I didn’t think you could say that word on television.

JON: You can on Pay-Per-View.

ARDA: Not here please. As much of a surprise as it was, I loved the idea of Kofi and Cena battling for the Best Man title.

(Segment rating 94)

ARDA: I loved seeing the Rhodes Scholars kick off the actual wrestling part of the program.

SHERRI: Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt are a solid tag team. Despite that, this would have been quite an upset. Even the announcers admitted that.

JON: A good match though. Even if you knew who’d win.

ARDA: I was a little surprised it was Lethal who took the pin though.

(Segment rating 74)

ARDA: Up next, Titus Worldwide beat the Bro-Mans.

JON: Meh.

SHERRI: Titus may not be able to keep up in this company.

(Segment rating 63)

JON: Jericho and Orton’s press conference protesting not getting the next shot at Cena’s title was really good.

SHERRI: Orton RKOing that reporter was… wait for it… out of nowhere.

ARDA: Sherri, only one of the three of us is a professional comedian.

(Segment rating 97)

ARDA: The Rock’s “good luck” wishes to Cena were hilarious.

JON: I haven’t seen such backhanded compliments since Anthony’s eulogy for Julius Caesar.

SHERRI: The payoff was even better. Rock challenging Xavier Woods to take him out of the equation in the main event. Perfect.

(Segment rating 100)

SHERRI: The next match was textbook filler.

ARDA: I had higher hopes for Brian Cage and Shaun Richter than to be jobbing to Rich Swann and ACH.

(Segment rating 65)

JON: Can you believe it’s almost 2020 and the Dudleys are still putting on decent matches.

SHERRI: And they are accepting their role as gatekeepers. Putting over Team Canada makes sense in a Canadian federation.

ARDA: Notice it was Devon who took the pin.

(Segment rating 75)

ARDA: Now, Rock versus Woods.

SHERRI: The styles meshed ok, the crowd got into it and the wrestling worked. Good overall, for a midshow match.

ARDA: I couldn’t have said it better.

JON: Next time, they should play video games. I’d pay to see that too.

(Segment rating 77)

ARDA: The next few matches were nothing special. Ciampa and Rhino beat Shawn Spears and Teddy Hart.

JON: Ciampa with the tried and true feet on the ropes.

(Segment rating 70)

SHERRI: The tag talent in this federation is simply amazing. You can have American Wolves facing a Garza Jr and Ultimo Ninja, who have only just started teaming together.

ARDA: They are cousins though.

SHERRI: If they haven’t tagged before, just being related doesn’t mean much.

JON: They lost, which was no surprise, and Ultimo is the one who is struggling to keep up.

(Segment rating 75)

ARDA: As for Big Show and The Undertaker, their promo was pretty cool. Let’s see a clip.

UNDERTAKER: For two long now, we have stayed in the shadows. For too long we have let Eric Bischoff and his flunkies distract us.

BIG SHOW: No more.

UNDERTAKER: Now, we hunger, hunger for gold once more. We are not the past.

BIG SHOW: We are the now.

(Segment rating 92)

ARDA: As for the OGz versus The Kingdom.

JON: Not great. I’ve seen better looking sushi at a gas station.

SHERRI: Homicide was the best thing in the match, and that isn’t saying much.

ARDA: And really, Homicide needs a surprise roll up just to get over Matt Taven?

(Segment rating 62)

ARDA: Next up to air their grievances were Steenerico.

JON: I wish Generico would talk again. The Penn and Teller routine was cute at first, but it’s starting to grate.

SHERRI: Plus, the show should be more than just the complain train.

ARDA: Then came the worst match of the night. Davey Boy Smith and Petey Williams team up against Bram and Kingston for a nine-minute, bathroom break match, just before the main event.

(Segment Rating 59)

ARDA: What do you think Sherri, did the main event live up to the hype?

SHERRI: I think so. For a weekly show this was a good performance. They trusted these two with twenty minutes of ring time. I’d say it paid off.

JON: Say what you will about Cena hogging the spotlight, and the gold, he can still go.

(Segment rating 81)

ARDA: Overall?

SHERRI: This show was up to the standards this company needs. More like this and I’d say Stampede can only get bigger still.

(Show rating 83)

JON: They already packed over 37,000 people into Calgary University for this show. It wasn’t that long ago that selling 10,000 seats in an US arena was a challenge. Here’s the best of the new feds, in Canada, and it’s drawing these crowds.

ARDA: Rumor is, the company is already in the black financially.

SHERRI: I’m not surprised.

ARDA: Thanks to you both, we’ll see everyone next time!

 20.
I posted my first big PPV in my Dynasty. For those who are curious:

Elsewhere

WSX grew to regional

PWG to National

Showtime selected Becky Lynch as figurehead

CECW looks like they are making good money, currently in second place financially.

On the injury front, Marty Scurll is out for 14 months. Paige got hurt, nothing major, but she may actually be made of glass.

Dutch Mantel is the only retiree so far.

Lizzy Valentine and Joey Ryan are dating.

JoJo Offerman had a healthy baby girl.

Anything else anyone is curious about?

 21.
ARDA: What’s cracking everyone? Let’s start at the end. Sherri, what’s your feeling on the show overall?

SHERRI: It’s was good. But Stampede sets such a high standard, I think they might have been a little disappointed.

JON: When you start on top, it’s easy to slide in your first few shows.

ARDA: Ok, analysis. The opening segment was really solid.

SHERRI: Rock and Jorts continued to butt heads.

JON: I’ve seen smaller egos on Fox News.

ARDA: We knew they’d clash with Team Y2KO soon and there was no better time to do it. And Cena’s rap was awesome.

<CLIP - CENA>

You think you can mock me? My name’s not Michael.

But you might be busy

Crashing your motorcycle.

And as for Y2J

You think you’re so special

And you’re barely ok

Team Y2KO? That’s oh so clever,

So when will you beat us?

The answer is never.

<END>

ARDA: So there’s the main event.

JON: Does anyone else think it’s weird that major shows look to have been written on a napkin at a Denny’s right before the show?

SHERRI: Do they have Denny’s in Nova Scotia?

ARDA: I liked the idea of having the item to retrieve in the ladder match be a briefcase with a mystery opportunity in it.

(Segment rating 95)

ARDA: Making this triple tag team match kick off the action, good idea?

JON: I think the American Wolves are a good idea up and down the card.

SHERRI: The OGz being eliminated first shows what an uphill climb they are going to have just to stay relevant in this day and age.

JON: Are you calling them long of tooth?

ARDA: A Shakespeare reference; that may be a first.

SHERRI: But seriously, Shawn Hernandez is fighting a losing battle with time.

ARDA: I think the match was pretty decent, Brian Cage and Eli Drake make a good team.

JON: I think the wrestling shone. The crowd just wasn’t as into it. These 6 guys could headline at many smaller promotions, here they are low on the totem pole.

SHERRI: Eddie Edwards really stood out here.

(Segment rating 75)

ARDA: Jay Lethal and Sanjay Dutt and the Bro-Man didn’t quite measure up. I’m glad Jay Lethal went over. He has real potential to break out if given the chance.

(Segment rating 70)

SHERRI: The next match? The Kingdom and ACH and Rich Swann? Pretty bad.

JON: And The Kingdom inning was pretty predictable.

(Segment rating 61)

ARDA: New Day’s segment was fun. I didn’t think you could make that many puns about fish.

SHERRI: I think they floundered a little.

JON: Maybe I should handle the jokes.

SHERRI: You let me know if you tell one.

(Segment rating 68)

ARDA: I was really interested to see The Dudley Boys face Garza Jr and Ultimo Ninja.

SHERRI: You would think the young guys would come out looking better, but Ultimo Dragon really struggled.

JON: And, again, predictable. You know the Dudleys are going to win. Still getting an 11-minute match will showcase both teams.

SHERRI: But does it make them look good?

(Segment rating 69)

ARDA: What can you say about the memorial to Jim Neidhart? Bret got pretty choked up out there.

JON: At least no one tackled him. But seriously, according to everything I’ve heard the guy was a mensch and wrestling is lessened with his passing.

(Segment rating 75)

SHERRI: It’s great to see Eric Young and Bobby Roode back together.

JON: Even in a match with Titus Worldwide.

ARDA: Apollo Crews has developed to the point he’s out-wrestling his mentor.

SHERRI: Plus he got the pin. I think Bret and company have faith in him.

(Segment rating 70)

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, The New Day defeated Bram & Kingston in 14:36 when Kofi Kingston defeated Eddie Kingston by pinfall with a Midnight Hour. Bram/Kingston bad chemistry 80

ARDA: So next we got to see New Day wrestling, against Eddie Kingston and Bram.

SHERRI: The latter two should be split up. They have no chemistry at all.

JON: Overall though, it was a good match. Still, Kofi getting the win I hardly a shocker.

(Segment rating 80)

ARDA: What do you think about Eric Bischoff’s continued efforts to recruit Undertaker and Big show?

JON: The thing is, Rhino protecting Bischoff from these two isn’t really believable. He’s just not as menacing as the two he’s trying to stand up to.

SHERRI: Stampede may have put more faith in him than he can handle.

(Segment rating 86)

ARDA: What did you think of Rhodes Scholars versus Shawn Spears and Petey Williams.

SHERRI: Spears and Williams looked ok, with experience they should work out fine.

JON: If neither retires before they get that much experience.

ARDA: I would have expect Cody to get the pin. Stevens and that Terminus finisher looked good.

JON: Spears looked weak in the loss.

SHERRI: Good wrestling, sleeping crowd.

(Segment rating 72)

ARDA: As for Ciampa and Rhino, I was surprised to see them go over The New Hart Foundation.

SHERRI: We were worried BLAME CANADA would be pushed to the moon; so it was nice that they lost here.

JON: Biggest upset of the night.

ARDA: Let’s face it though. This match was there to calm the crowd a little before the big finish.

SHERRI: Crowd burnout is a thing.

(Segment rating 64)

ARDA: Bret Hart calling Steenerico out, and Kevin Steen refusing to wrestle without a pay raise, made for a really solid segment.

SHERRI: Not defending the tag titles on a show this big, in a tag based federation, was a gamble.

(Segment rating 81)

ARDA: As for the main event, these four were an odd choice to put in a ladder match.

SHERRI: But it worked pretty well.

JON: Was it well enough, remember standards are really high here.

ARDA: Watching The Rock retrieve that briefcase, I was genuinely scared he’d fall to his death.

JON: It was definitely one of the riskiest matches in the show’s history.

ARDA: And giving the winners any match they wanted in two show’s time? That was a nice twist.

(Segment rating 75)

ARDA: I don’t know, using a big show to set up a lesser show? Is that financially sound?

SHERRI: We’ll know when we start seeing some numbers.

JON: They drew 40,000 people in Nova Scotia. That’s a great start for finances.

ARDA: Let’s see where Stampede goes next, and if they can hold their dominant position in the global marketplace.

(Overall rating 79)
