  2. STAMPEDE Forever 3 ARDA Welcome to Aftermath as we head into STAMPEDE Hart Foundations. JON Hey. SHERRI Hi, sexy boy. ARDA Let’s get right to it with John Cena’s open challenge. SHERRI I really like Cody Rhodes getting a title shot already. JON And Aaron Stevens was really entertaining. Though not compared to The Rock when he came out. Rock as referee for the main event seemed a bit odd, you would think he'd ’e too biased. ARDA He swore to call it down the line. (Segment rating 82) ARDA Now, is The New Hart Foundation already being overpushed? SHERRI I wouldn’t say that. JON Another win this time out. SHERRI Over the Bro-Mans. That’s hardly epic competition. (Segment rating 64) ARDA Not much to say about Natural Selection beating the OGz. JON Shaun Richter just strikes me as someone who could be a star. And I wish he were being showcased more. SHERRI Perfectly acceptable wrestling, I suppose. (Segment rating 63) ARDA Now, Eric Bischoff continues to try to recruit The Undertaker and Big Show. SHERRI Bischoff is playing dirty, as usual. Implying they’re too old and scared to even step into a ring anymore. ARDA Which meant The Unholy Alliance, I love that name for them, demanded a match tonight. SHERRI The question became, would it be a train wreck? ARDA It seems like every week we struggle to get everyone on the card. So we end up with 8-man tags and the like. JON It’s like Smackdown with Teddy Long in charge. ARDA Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt get to team with the Dudley Boys. That has to be some kind of dream come true. SHERRI Really though, the other side had a lot more to gain from winning. Bram, Eddie Kingston, Matt Taven and Mike Bennet may find themselves losing a lot more than winning if they can’t break out somehow. (Segment rating 67) ARDA Eric Young and Bobby Roode, Team Canada as we Canadians proudly call it, beat ACH and Rich Swann. Thoughts? SHERRI About as good as the match before it. Typical for TV, nothing special? JON Young getting the pin was what I’d expect. And I think the crowd was less than impressed with ACH. ARDA The “Who are you?” chants were downright cruel. (Segment rating 68) SHERRI Do we know if the New Day cooking segment is going to be a regular thing? JON It was more of an eating segment. ARDA As much as I like to see Big E covered in powdered sugar, these guys should be doing more. JON There’s not much in the way of ongoing stories on these shows so far. Will that change? ARDA I think the company is still up in the air on how much entertainment and how much wrestling they truly want to be. (Segment rating 81) ARDA Eric Bischoff managing Tomasso Ciampa and Rhino makes a formidable force. JON Shawn Spears and Petey Williams found that out the hard way. SHERRI I know this show is about tag teams, but these guys do not work well together. ARDA Experience could help. SHERRI Maybe in a year or more. Is it worth waiting? (Segment rating 67) ARDA The American Wolves being back in action just fills my heart with joy. JON I have a candy heart, like Raggedy Anne. SHERRI I felt bad for Titus Worldwide having to face them. The Wolves outclassed hem in and out of kayfabe. (Segment rating 75) JON I liked Steen and Generico picking on fans at concession. SHERRI El Generico is a bad heel. I will try not to harp on it forever, but it’s going to be an issue until he gets better, or turns. (Segment rating 74) ARDA And, at long last The Undertaker and Big Show end up facing… Mi Familia, Garza Jr and Ultimo Ninja. SHERRI It was bad, but not absolutely awful. JON Take a couple of springy dudes, have them bounce off the big guys, get caught, get tossed around. Simple formula, but the outcome was never in question. (Segment rating 57) ARDA As for the main event, what did you think Sherri? SHERRI I don’t want to say it was a bad match. The Rock’s role as referee was handled really well. And a DQ finish means it’s far from settled who the better man is. JON John keeps the Better Man title. (Segment rating 76) ARDA Now the aftermath was interesting. SHERRI Rhodes Scholars attack Cena, Rock saves him, Orton and Jericho run in and help destroy Rock and Cena, then turn on Cody and Stevens and level them too. JON It makes for a lot of action, and a lot of questions. Who is the dominant team in Stampede anyway? (Segment rating 83) ARDA Coming up next? Hart Foundations, the first big show of the new era. (Show rating 76)
  3. <p>ARDA</p><p> News flash!</p><p> Stampede became the latest in a string of wrestling companies to fall out of favor with DirecTV. Ratings and star power just haven't quite been there for a lot of ambitious companies who took advantage of DirecTV's initial rush of enthusiasm over the new era of professional wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> Stampede has moved to an earlier time slot, leaving much of the show outside of prime time. This is a blow to Stampede, but nowhere near as bad as losing the deal entirely.</p>
  4. Stampede Forever, Episode 2 ARDA Welcome back to Aftermath. Another Stampede wrestling Pay Per View, another chance to sit down with the Sensational Sherri and Jon Stewart. Jon give us a joke. JON Comedians hate when you do that. ARDA I don’t get it. SHERRI Can we get on with this? ARDA We opened with John Cena, the new Better Man Champion. JON I noticed The Rock was not with him. ARDA John’s promo was old school rap, again. CLIP CENA They said I was washed up And I didn’t matter I say they should step up And their noses I’ll shatter I’m take on all comers, I’ll face anyone. Defending this title Is my idea of fun. So here I am, And I’ll make it clear. I’ve said it before: The champ is here! ARDA Orton’s music hit next. He and Jericho showed up and demanded he face them in a handicap match for the title. They promised to work together and share, not like him and his corporate mandated partner, The Rock. SHERRI Speak his name and he shall appear. JON Rock cut a hell of a promo too. ARDA Still, “The Rock and Jorts Connection,” seriously? SHERRI I’ve heard worse. And people didn’t think Mankind and The Rock would work together either, at least, not at first. ARDA To end it all, Bret appeared on the screen and, calmly and efficiently, announced a tag match between them in the main event of Hart Foundations. (Segment rating 88) ARDA We got to some action next. The New Hart Foundation taking on Team Canada. JON I was surprised Team Canada went over. I hope Bret doesn’t just push his friends and family. SHERRI How good was Bobby Roode in this match? He shone. (Segment rating 71) ARDA Steenerico’s confrontation with New Day set up the main event tag match to crown the first ever Kings of the Rodeo. SHERRI I expected better. JON El Generico just doesn’t work as a heel. (Segment rating 65) ARDA Next we had some really subpar matches. Natural Selection beat ACH & Rich Swan. Cheating, not that surprising. SHERRI Bro-Mans beat Mi Familia, Garza Jr. and Ultimo Ninja. People are high on Ultimo Ninja, but he struggled here. (Segment rating) 58 JON Next The Dudleys wreslted. And, you know something, the wrestling was ok. Tomasso Ciampa and Rhino did their share too. ARDA Bully gets the win here. (Segment rating 71) ARDA Jay Lethal and Sanjay Dutt vs Bram and Eddie Kingston wasn’t great. But it wasn’t the worst of the night. SHERRI Lethal’s win was all well and good, because he was the star here. (Segment rating 66) ARDA Eric Bishoff, with Rhino backing him up, tried to recruit The Undertaker and Big Show into joining his faction. JON I thought they were going to bury them. SHERRI Rhino is a really menacing man. But he gets blown away by the other two. (Segment rating 88) ARDA The midcard plodder alongwith Titus Worldwide beating The Kingdom. SHERRI As talented as Matt Taven is, he’s really low on the totem pole here. Him taking the pin may be a sign of things to come. (Segment rating 60) ARDA The next match helped. The wrestling at least. JON I trust the American Wolves and BLAME CANADA to put on a good show. Hopefully it gets them noticed. SHERRI Eddie Edward submitting Petey Williams made it a decisive win. (Segment rating 73) ARDA Up next, The Rhodes Scholars took on LAX in a match that could have been better. SHERRI Shawn Hernandez is past his prime, it showed here. (Segment rating 67) JON Rhodes scholars got some mic time too. They were smug, arrogant and superior. I loved it. (Segment rating 78) ARDA The main event was easily the best match on the show. SHERRI I liked Steenerico going over New Day. JON They cheated of course, like rich people cheat taxes. ARDA Finally, a joke. SHERRI So there you have it. No more vacant titles. ARDA It will be interesting to see how Hart Foundations turns out, but we still have the go to show first. (Show rating 83)
  5. On the next Stampede Wrestling... The first ever Kings of the Rodeo will be crowned.
  6. ARDA Welcome to Aftermath, I’m Arda Ocal and with me are the Sensational Sherri and Jon Stewart. JON Hi. SHERRI I’m thrilled to be here. ARDA The show opened with John Cena, back in his doctor of Thuganomics dress, and style. In a rap, he revealed he was expecting two things tonight. One was a shot at a title, and the other was to know who his assigned tag team partner was. The answer to the second was immediately revealed as The Rock entered to thunderous applause. Neither Cena or The Rock were happy to be paired, but, as it looked like it was going to come to blows, the two were interrupted in turn. Randy Orton and Chris Jericho burst on the scene, making their usual claims to be the best. They also made it clear they had CHOSEN to be a team, not been forced together. Lastly, Orton revealed there would be a title match tonight. But not for the tag titles, that will have to wait. Instead, Stampede’s only singles title, the Better Man belt would be on the line. Though Stamped is focused on tag team wrestling, sometimes you have to settle who the better man in the team is. And tonight, in the main event, Orton revealed he would be facing Cena. Cena was overjoyed and raring to go, vowing he would prove he was the best man in the arena. (Segment rating 100) SHERRI This was such a good start to the show. JON A promo like this makes you sit up and pay attention. I can’t think of a better beginning to a new era. Four of the best in the business on stage at once. ARDA Up next, the first match in Stampede’s revival. The New Day, specifically Kofi Kingston and Big E, took on the reunited Kingdom, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. JON That surprised me. That’s a lot of faith to put in the Kingdom. Obviously, someone has to do the first job of the era, but Mike not only doesn’t get to work with his wife anymore, he also has to eat the first ever pin. SHERRI Can I just say, New Day Rocks! The chemistry between Woods and the others just shines off the screen. (Segment Rating 76) ARDA Another match right away saw The New Hart Foundation taking on the Bro-Mans. Thoughts? JON Ok. SHERRI I liked Davey Boy Smith’s Running Powerslam that got the pin on Robbie E. ARDA This was the low point of the show so far. (Segment rating 60) Next, we finally got to see Bret Hart coming out to show his obvious pride that his father’s dream was alive again. Of course, he had to be interrupted. And this time, it was Eric Bischoff- JON He’s not booking, right? ARDA No, purely on-screen. JON Thank heavens. SHERRI Bischoff is a smart guy. With Rhino at his side, I can see him going far. (Rating 73) ARDA The new team of Ultimo Ninja and Garza Jr., known as Mi Familia, clashed with the Rhodes Scholars. They looked good even in a loss. SHERRI But it wasn’t a very good match. JON I have to agree. And really Ultimo Ninja was the worst guy in the match. (Rating 65) ARDA Next, Petey Williams and Shawn Spears, BLAME CANADA, teamed up for the first time and, well, it didn’t go well. JON Bad chemistry is, well, bad. SHERRI I didn’t realize Pepper Parks and Rene Dupree were even on the roster. ARDA It was a one-night deal. (Segment rating: 52) Up next was a few minutes of The Big Show and The Undertaker, tagging again for the first time in a long time, basically looked scary. JON They’re still good at it. SHERRI Always room for big scary people in the spectacle that is professional wrestling. (Segment rating 88) ARDA Steenerico, the authentic Steenerico, took down Jay Lethal and Sanjay Dutt. JON Should these guys really be heels? I mean Steen works well either way, but Generico is a born face when he uses that gimmick. He’s not totally convincing. SHERRI I agree. Steen was head and shoulder over the others in this match. And Generico using the tights to win made him look somewhat weak. JON Sonjay struggled too. He just wasn’t standing up to the others tonight. (Segment rating 88) ARDA Not much to say about the triple tag match. The American Wolves outlasted Titus Worldwide and Natural Selection. JON Somebody give Shaun Richter some mic time. (Segment rating 71) ARDA Thoughts on the singles match between Shawn Hernandez and Eddie Kingston? SHERRI I thought they played well off each other. But really, it was bad wrestling the audience didn’t care about. Better luck next time. ARDA In a moment dear to my heart, Bobby Roode and Eric Young reunited as Team Canada. They’re heels again. JON I’d call it glorious, but those days are over. SHERRI Trouble is, it was a bland an predictable promo. Arda, since you’re Canadian I’ll forgive you liking them. Jon, what’s your excuse? JON Ummm… I like Bobby’s moustache? (Segment rating 58) ARDA And, at long last, the main event. Sherri, your thoughts? SHERRI Superb. ARDA Jon? JON You bet your bippy it was. ARDA I can’t disagree either. I was a little surprised to see Randy Orton tap to the STF. You would not expect a submission from a major heel on the very first night of the company’s existence. JON I disagree; I think they needed a big shock. And Cena with the Better Man title means he’ll give out opportunities like candies. Possibly even more open challenges. (Segment Rating 83) (Show rating 84) ARDA Overall? A good show, but maybe not as good as they need to be. Turns out Direct TV wasn’t as happy with the buy rates as they’d expected to be. SHERRI The ring work is lacking a bit. Many of the wrestlers are past their peak, and that never helps. JON This company bills itself as performance first, yet they’re really playing up their stars. SHERRI Including some really old stars, Undertaker is in his 50s for crying out loud. ARDA One of the advantages of a tag team focus is every team only grows in experience every week. I think this company has a ton of potential. JON Agreed. SHERRI I still have high hopes. ARDA That’s all for this episode, we’ll be back after Stamped episode two, the second last episode before Stampede Hart Foundations, the first major show Stampede will put on.

  8. Arda Ocal, here with a quick update. With the dust of the draft settled, it's become obvious Stampede is far and away the success story. A true international giant, backed by some of the biggest names in the business today, Stampede is already looking to add global media coverage and add even more tag teams to its already impressive roster. The debut show is coming up fast... it's going to be a wild ride.

  15. The year was 2018. The first lawsuit came in Australia, of all places. Employment laws were very clear. Wrestlers could not be treated as contractors; they were, retroactively, employees. Within a year, every other major market followed suit. The settlements bankrupted every federation in existence. A few managed to sell their name and properties, but most were simply gone. This left a major vacuum. Eleven federations across the world prepared to launch within the year. The battle for talent looked to be cutthroat. That is, until the idea of a draft was floated. It happened. All 11 federations agreed to the draft. All willing wrestlers and other workers, even former owners, were part of a huge mix of talent to be drafted. Random order, snake draft, 40 rounds. After that? To each their own. This is the story of the rebirth of the old, in the age of the new. This is the story of Stampede Wrestling.

  17. I am gambling pretty heavily that Jericho ends up as ageless in my game as he is in real life, aren't I?
  18. - What was your goal in drafting your roster? Originally, I wanted to sign some Canadian stars and scrounge for a talented undercard. My product actually leans towards performance! But the stars just kept being free, so I figured I'd draft for a killer top 5 popularity and use my initial muscle to give me some breathing room in case I falter at first. I also decided to go all in on tag teams. Most of my picks are existing tag teams with a few new ones thrown in. Tag experience will only grow as my fed rolls on. I gambled on a lot of stars who could be on the decline in game. When I start my fed, and maybe a diary, I'll just have to see. - What pick were you most excited about? Even at #6 pick overall, I wasn't sure I'd get Chris Jericho. And The Kingdom as late as they went? Big Show and Undertaker will stink up the ring, but their menace will help the 30% of my shows based on angles. - Are there any picks you regret? I goofed on my TV deal early. Rules misunderstanding. My Mystery Box was a bust. I also effectively traded a Jay Briscoe PPA contract for a round 40 pick, but I didn't want to share a team with a fed I have a non-aggression pact with. As for Bret Hart at round 10? I regret nothing!!! - What were some of your favorite picks made by other players? Kijar: Getting the Motor City Machine Guns and The Viking Experience at that stage of the draft was some good bargain hunting. Tardelli: Rousey. Her not being available in Canada for the first ten rounds was the main reason I dropped any thought of a Women's Division. Juanster: Hawkins and Ryder. That pair have more potential than anyone gives them credit for. They were only a few picks lower on my list. alpha2117: Velveteen Dream, as others have pointed out. Dr_Avalanche: CM Punk. I was looking at Punk/Cabana as a team and probably would have drafted Punk in round 5 if he'd still been available. Destiny: The entire Wyatt Family. CreeperGav: Bad News Barrett. Since he can be forced back into the ring, he's a steal at that spot in the draft. southside_hitmen: Konnan. I thought he was already gone, or he might have replaced Bischoff on my roster. uncrewed - Reigns was an obvious good pick. But hats off on snagging The Revival. I missed them because they are under their real names in the mod. - What were some picks made that puzzled you? I'll agree, Axel & Dallas in Rounds 3 & 4 seems a bit... odd. - How do you see your promotion unfolding once you're able to play it? I will stick with a weekly PPV and 12 monthly. With luck I won't fall too hard too fast, or have a roster full of people all over the hill. As my tag teams gain more and more experience I hope to be able to fight off the march of time for at least a little while. Plus, I'll sign Tomasso Ciampa.
