  1. Yeah, that would be Excel realising that those tabs were deleted and freaking out before you renamed the other ones... I'll reupload the file for you WITHOUT my current database contracts and workers.... Wait a little while <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  2. <p>No idea at all... Maybe it's a 2013 to 2016 converting error.</p><p> </p><p>

Theoretically. So long as you do not Refresh, you could delete the contract and worker tabs, create new ones, import the data and then change their names back to _worker and _contract, then the rest of the references should sort themselves out.</p>

  3. Did you use Ctrl+a on the contracts tab and then delete? (If you just select the data manually and delete it, excel may not realise you've removed the database table properly in some cases).

I am still using office 2013, but I don't see why anything would change.

Is that message greyed out on other tabs?

  4. Hi

You said you would upload your excel file and run a tutorial if asked? I would really appreciate that if possible! I've had my own spreadsheets for years but nothing to this extent

    Thanks

I forgot to do this, sorry MrWhippy, I can't even remember which thread we discussed this in, so I'll add it here.

Well, in Excel, Data you can import a table from a database. I find Workers and Contracts enough for all the data I want.

All you have to do is find your FedID by manually looking though the table for your user character.

From there, create some code to search all the contracts that are linked to your FedID, and then bring all those rows into a table, and link those with all the rows which have the corresponding WorkerID.

Then adjust the outcome to remove errors, etc and you're left with whats in the above pic.

It's an hour or two of coding but I only have to do it once. (there is sometimes a small copy error in one of my code sections. I dont know why but sometimes on refresh of data - it mis-copies it. However, grabbing the above row in the right place and copying it down corrects it). The only downside is it gives you actual data, not scouting level data - if you like to have that bit of mystery. I also have some of my own formulas for some comparative numbers.

I say it takes an hour or two, I spent about 20 hours doing the same for TEW13, as I had to use the main database save file and collect about 5 different tables to collate, instead of two, so I was well versed in this when TEW16 had Database exports.

If you want me to upload the excel file and a tutorial on how to use it, I can but you'll probably have to wait till Monday as I work all weekend.

I have added a GUIDE tab in the spreadsheet. So it should be easier to setup. I use Microsoft Office 2013, so items may appear differently in different versions.

If you can solve the bug problem I have, do let me know. It saves me spending a few hours one day working it out. I'll update the file with it once I figure it out.

  5. My user character is at A Popularity in just the Mid West of USA. Everyone outside of there have kind of heard of me via spillover, but to those guys in that region, I am like freakin' Jack Bruce. I became the protege of Dean Waldorf via yearly roll. I dunno if I want to risk dropping the title to him, but I'm sure the match itself WOULD... BE... EPIC!

I book at the rate of one legitimate show a day... how on earth are you in 2022, even if you have been awake the last 48 hours :o

  6. What year are you up to Lex? What is the best match you have had so far?

I'm not going to survive my second game. I chose Jackie Goldstein as owner because he wouldn't change my product but he is on $1300 a month and is not working for free. I'm already $20000 in debt after five months and i'm only making $100 on off months :(

I just hit the same realization with my first run. Patch Beta 9 changed sponsorship and is making the challenge hard again if you have bad Economy or Wrestling Industry.

I think the owner has to be on a ppa deal to work for free.

I've missed this, was there a special owner contract in the editor to change it to ppa? I thought all owners were written contracts

  7. 1 - We'll have to wait and see what difference this makes

I believe now that sex appeal now is taken into consideration for the Entertainment rating in angles, which is why men and women's values where normalised. I don't think it was taken into account of entertainment in the previous game, and was souls used for sex appeal angled. This does mean, if you want to have good entertainment skills, you have to put points in this new field to be in the same entertainment position you were last year (noting that sex appeal doesn't grow like other stats, and is only tweaked slightly by changes in size or body type.

  8. I agree, that is huge. Perhaps the headlining match needs to be as the figurehead?

The one downside is if someone's worker is a natural heel rather than face.

Maybe then, that headlining match needs to be made up of the Number 1 and 2 highest draws (as we can now see that information), one of which is the user character.

This could mean that you are the figurehead, or against the figurehead (as I assume the figurehead will be the number one draw). This allows the faces to be the figurehead, and for the heels to be the Triple H's to the Austins and The Rocks.

  9. Questions:

1 - It appears The Looks stat has been overhauled such that men's appearance have now been boosted on average (unless I am mistaken on this) though I don't know what affect it is having on the game world. So should the point limit be adjusted for this.

2 - checking out the 0/0/0/0 thread, though we don't quite know how long term play will sort itself yet, depending on the outcome the 0/0/0/1000 might have to be adjusted when you roll a starting region with poor economy (or allow rerolls or save-scum to get a better econmomy) otherwise the first few months will very likely see your business fail

  11. I've been playing these games for about 12 years now, since the birth of the C-Verse in 05 (though I played the demos of 04, though I know not if it's existence is still apparent).

From 05, I always used to struggle to get into it and think I played 05 and 08 with Real world mods only. It wasn't till I played a two player with a friend where I began to really get into USPW - but I still only dabbled with it. In 13, I only ever played this '97 mod. Because I knew who big players were in the future, it was always interesting to see them rise through the times and truly understand the C-Verse. I was looking forward to starting with this mod again to see how the changes in 13 to 16 will change my booking (starting from a 0/0/0/0 for two months in comparison to a game I started playing just before 16 was announced.

I am almost certain that this mod will be my first long term game again.

But I cannot help but feel a little nostalgic, and would really love to see sometime for someone to take this mod and the current 16 data to make databases for the world starting in (04)/05/08/10/13 so I can really visit all those all past states - all of which I lightly delved into but never understood.

A lot of people in the forums ask what is the best place to start, and I always think that it would be here, in 97' where you can see the history of the current C-Verse world come alive.

Thanks for all the hard work on this mod as always Derek.
