  1. I just got my first major injury derailment. Marco Gonzalez has been a long term project of mine, and I had him in a feud set to win the American at Night of Champions (which I edited to be the new season finale because I like end-of-year shows). Sam Keith took him under his wing, and the psychology tips have meant that by December 2021 his psych is in the 62-80 range, which is up around 20 points for the year. Plus, I got him to up his size and become a ripped light heavyweight and his SQ is sitting at 80. Kid's a definite star. Then disaster strikes. I have him in a tag match teaming with Jack Pryde against Nakayana (the champ) and a TCW development worker, and the damn dirty development worker injures him, herniating his spine. Out for a year. And, to top it off, the surgery to repair the damage went bad, and added an additional 2 weeks to the year he'll be out. In 2016 surgery pretty much always went right for me, so this is something I was not expecting at all.

  3. SWF randomly released Mainstream Hernandez (his pop was still in the mid-50s) and I snapped him up on my very first written contract while still at small size. I'm at 48 pop right now, so I should be medium in a year and able to add more, but he's the only one for now. Anyway, his first feud is with Papa Swoll, who's been a staple of my tag division, first as champs with Nate DeMarcus (when Tyrone handed in his notice) and then with Hustle Muvva twice (when Nate handed in his). Unfortunately, even with Swoll's loyalty to me from that awesome skill he has, he signed a USPW contract and I'm having him job to Hernandez on his way out to put Mainstream over as a vile returning heel. I've also signed up Chip Martin and Ash Campbell, who I'm going to team up due to their dad's DAVE connection, and have them as Mainstream's tag backup in a stable called the Mainstream Mafia. I love hiring second gen talents as MAW since that's what the promotion was filled with in 2010 (when I REALLY got into it) and I try to continue that tradition. Also, I'm using Julian Watson as a sort of new-age Jean Cattely this time around since TCW jobbed him down the card and let him go, and I'm adding him as Hernandez's deputy in the stable. Does anyone else immediately get ideas when you post your progress? I've been stumped on a new face tag team since Swoll left, and just writing this down reminded to bring back Nate and Tyrone since they've each been gone at least a year. I'll team them in a stable with Hustle Muvva as a singles star and then I can even give Yvonne Ericks to them as their manager (she's been managing Swoll and Muvva to give her overness and hopefully get her signed by a women's company just because I like her).
  4. I actually like the idea of Arsenal and Army framing up. They've got a lot of history against each other, with Arsenal part of the original Syndicate and New Wave being a big rival of Arsenal and Hill. With Doc now in the Syndicate and Arsenal face, you could have them be a core part of the force that battles the Syndicate.
  5. The Hot Taggs, Wolfie and Kalder, are one of my favorite new teams. Nate DeMarcus and Tyrone are a fun power/lightweight team to bring in too, and some development time could get their entertainment skills up. Also, I like the LA Stars from NYCW, and feel like you could really use them as a classic masked jobber team or a super cheat-y heel team that uses their essentially identical look to switch in and out.
  6. <p>I've noticed a bunch of the random gens turn up with the stronger negative personalities like bully, so maybe the game world is just populating them to fill the a more even balance. </p><p> </p><p> I do like this system in theory more than the old positive-negative one. The problem I think is that guys like Joey Morgan who used to be the cause of negative environments now have personalities like mercenary that are only a problem once the backstage is already negative, so they never really get a chance to get unless you hire a ton of bullies, and bullies never do anything because the environment is always at 100.</p>
  7. I'm approaching the King of Kings, and I'm toying with the idea of making the tournament winner defend the the title in every match leading up to Total Mayhem. The explanation of it is that if you're ready to challenge for the World Heavyweight championship, you should be ready to put it on the line and beat everyone to do so. I'm already thinking of various storylines I could run, like having the winner lose it early on and go on a run where he has to regain his confidence, and eventually the title right before Total Mayhem. Maybe I could even have a cocky heel like Freddy Huggins be the one to lose his confidence, and his journey to regain it will be what causes him to turn face.
  8. How do you guys the TV title? I've always struggled with them because while the holder is getting a push, it's hard for me to build programs with a payoff since the gimmick is that the belt is defended on free tv, not PPV. I guess I'll end up making it a small or tertiary title once Gauge drops it and do that gimmick, but I want some other ideas.
  9. TCW just sent two development workers down to me, each with the last name Koscheck. One is black and the other is Pacific Islander, so I thought it would be cool to edit in a best friends relationship for them and team them up as the Koscheck Brothers in a sort of Dudley Boys gimmick, but I'll play up whether or not they're actually brothers or just really close bros.
  10. One of the things I love about the development deal with TCW is that they're guys I can just relegate to total jobber status. I can just job them out without worrying about handing losses to the guys I actually want to build up.
  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MrJeeps" data-cite="MrJeeps" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47579" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Fair enough but how come this hasn't happened to any other companies?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm actually seeing it on a small with all of the companies that debut randomly, at least when it comes to the massive contracts hamstringing them. Because WrestleWorld has given pretty much every company national exposure, the newer companies are hiring these super over independent workers, and they're going into debt very quickly because they can't handle PPA contracts that are in the hundreds to thousands of dollars range. </p><p> </p><p> I think what's happened is that CWA with this challenge in mind. The AI struggles to handle it, but a player will be able to navigate the money issues if they make the right broadcast deals and trim the fat off their roster accordingly. </p><p> </p><p> Each company has their own challenges. While a place like TCW might be struggling with getting over enough talent to put on a main event not involving AA or Wolf, or PGHW needing to build up new stars with all the former ones retired, CWA doesn't have the roster issues and instead has money ones.</p>
  12. Definitely. Killer Shark is a guy that has more potential than Titan due to SQ and athleticism alone, but he needs more seasoning before he's ready to do anything as a singles guy in a performance-based fed. Titan on the other hand is definitely a right now guy due to his fundamentals and psych, plus his brawling is just under that 70 I always like to have top row skills at. Maybe a good idea would be to break up the team and push Titan as a singles guy, while teaming Shark with Nick Booth or another guy brought into the Sinner Society.
  13. My game just generated the greatest enhancement talent I've ever seen. EDIT: Oh man and his default gimmick is Prize Fighter. This guy is perfect for a Barry Horrowitz run where he does nothing but job and then ekes out a win against someone.
  14. The big kicker is that it seems that when they go to renegotiate their PPV deal they can t keep their default timeslots, because their revenue drops by around $1m at that point.
  15. "Loses hair" is actually under special extras at the bottom of the road agents note for matches.
  16. One thing you could do is bring in more over people through alliance loans and have them put over your talent. If they get upset you can ask them to put talent over or, if you're not interested in ever hiring them, you can just proceed with jobbing them out without a care.
  17. I just did a count, and there are 33 random regen Juniors in my game by November 2022. There's a ton of IIs and IIIs as well, but it makes sense for them to be there because they don't need to be related at all. I guess what weirds me out the most is that so many of Juniors are way too close in age to the originals to be believable. I know that in real life there are guys that are actually nephews like Rey Mysterio Jr. but so many of these Juniors would have to be born when the originals were tweens that it's kind of annoying me. Maybe a correction would be changing the requirements to be named Junior as opposed to being numbered?
  18. Anyone notice how pretty much every masked wrestler is getting a regen in their game? I like legacy characters, but I wish they were reserved more for retired guys, guys in their forties, and guys where that's more expected like Mexico and Japan. I mean I just got Babau II and the original is only 32 himself. Then there's guys like El Jaguar Jr, who I can only assume is El Jaguar's nephew, not son, because he's only 12 years younger.
  19. They don't this year. The AI control refers only to the booking, they won't hire their own workers.
  20. That's pretty much what happened in my game and they're CWA are in the same level of debt. PPV earnings went from $1m+ to around $100k. There might need to be some additional balancing because what's supposed to be a powerhouse promotion is tanking FAST.
  21. Jimmy Foxx actually looks like a veteran worthy of a push this go around. I've always just kind of ignored him and quietly sent him back to the indies, but with his skills and his very good health for his age (not even below 80 anywhere so no dings) he's one of the better performers in the company right now. Honestly, the health thing is shocking to me, because it feels like anyone over the age of 30 is below 80 in at least one area. I'm running a small promotion right now, but I like to check in on the big guys to see how they've changed, and as of November 2021 Foxx is the world champ with 4 defences. He beat Jay Chord in a 95-rated main event(!) of Total Mayhem. His defenses have been rated 93, 88, 76, and 92, with that 76 being an outlier since it was against Killer Shark. All things considered, I'm definitely pushing Foxx in my TCW game. I'm thinking an early game alliance with Edd could do them both well, and that could push two faces up the card that are in position to put on good performances.
  22. I'm actually really bummed out that the boot camp is shut down now. After playing a long term game, I understand why at least one dojo had to go what with the flood of new workers, but I miss it. MAW is like the #1 promotion when it comes to their alum becoming legit stars in big promotions and it's sad to think that Sione and Noggins are the last real true blue MAW products.
  23. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Gockelinho" data-cite="Gockelinho" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49906" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Sorry guys but you just interpretate way too much into it, it's unfortunately just the truth that Ryland codes in some weirdass language so there are certain limits it seems and one probably is that you just throw some numbers out there in these calculations, combined with some randomizing effect.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You seriously need to try running a game in the default database that the system is built around before saying things like this. </p><p> </p><p> The mods are all converts from a game designed years ago, they're not really ready yet. I understand that you may want to run real world mods, but wait until the mod makers have time to properly balance around a completely new engine before writing the game off based on them, especially when you yourself don't have a total grasp of the mechanics and other players have shown that good results are possible once you do.</p>
  24. CWA is going through some massive financial problems in my game. They had to renegotiate their PPV contract when they industry was in the absolute toilet, and for the past year they've been pulling in $1m less a month on a new contract than they were on the last. They've been losing anywhere from $300k to $600k a month. Right now they're sitting on a fat $1m debt. Luckily if they go under, ACPW is ready to take their place in a few years. They're growing steadily on a Wrestleworld contract. I love that broadcaster, because it actually lets small promotions grow. I'm really hoping that in long term games we'll see things like MAW or ACPW become major players, which pretty much never happened in older versions of the game.
