If it's not a technological limitation, I also wonder if heavily related things could be grouped together and have lines between them dropped to signify the grouping. For example, Brawling, Puroresu, and Hardcore had always been grouped under Rumble in previous game menus and having those within the same line/cell might be handy.</p>

  3. Well, I've promoted to national, which is wonderful! I'm the only company in national, no competition, they're all stuck in cult. So I figured I was gonna be raking in cash, swimming in money... alas...

My income has tripled, that's great! My expenditure has also increased greatly, so much so that my profit in my first month as national was barely $200k!!!

    I checked my finances:

    - My marketing has increased to just under a million (900+k) from 300/400k

    - Misc. expenditure... from 165k to 1.2 million!!!!!!

Marketing I can understand, but what is this misc. expenditure consist of that it has increased so much??

Misc has a base cost relative to the size of your company representing all the random stuff involved in running a company. It goes up huge at bigger levels because those are massive jumps in infrastructure you have to maintain. Marketing goes into its own character because...it has a category to go into.

Road agent notes like Open Match and, if the workers are good for it, Call in Ring will more than make up for it.</p><p> </p><p> What are you thinking would happen on the second one? 5. I've got a Stable in my dynasty that needs a good name. I have a couple of ideas but nothing I'm really happy with. An hoping the creative minds here can help.

Members are Nathan Cruz, Sebastian and Earl Black Jr. They'll be acting entitled, snobbish, looking down on the fans and other wrestlers like peasants. Am searching for a name for the group that hints at a higher breeding, as if the members of this stable are a higher class of human than the common filth that watch our shows.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

    Some ideas:

    • A Cut Above
    • Tory Nation
    • The House of Lords

  7. I think it'd be interesting to do a series where all pay-per-view matches have the winners chosen by the AI, for example. So I can book TV to build to a PPV match I want, but I can't control who is the champion on the other side. Forced improv :D

Multiplayer would be interesting, how would you see that working?

I've never used multiplayer in TEW so am unfamiliar with how it works mechanically. But, if you and someone else were playing direct competitor with similar schedules this would add some unpredictability to the competition since there might be some surprises at who gets over.

I'm mostly thinking of the Xavier Woods and Tyler Breeze SvR GM mode thing on YouTube. Them not picking winners makes it fairly chaotic.

  8. The CVerse mostly. With sim-style game, I like making that connection to a world I'm not familiar with and the CVerse is probably my favorite. When I messed around with Football Manager once upon a time I would play in like the Ukrainian Second League or such to get a similar experience (since even though all the people are real I don't actually know any of them before I start up), but the CVerse is much richer with personality.

That seems more interesting in a multiplayer setting. Or maybe as a "Give Me Rules For a Game" bit of nonsense.</p>

In my current game (just finished the first year), he's had feuds with Blockbuster, Davis Wayne Newton, Thrill Seeker, and Jack Griffith at different points. He's pretty solidly in the midcard right now (hovering around D+/C- popularity).<p> </p><p> Powell I always struggle with, I find him to be a bland character, so I typically try to find a tag team partner for him. I looked for a partner for Powell too but didn't get anything I liked. That said, I always saw more potential in him since he can be a heel and face whereas Nelson felt pretty one dimensional. Never had much in the way of backstage problems since without even really trying I got enough positive influences added to the roster to get the rating up to 100%.</p>
  11. What do people normally do with Shane Nelson and Ryan Powell? They would be pretty easy to get rid of, but their descriptions made me really want to keep them on the roster and do something and I'm pretty happy that I've managed to get Nelson into a good tag team championship run with Warren Technique and Powell into a pretty good Canadian championship feud where I think I'm going to have him win it. They seem like people who would be good for personal challenges a la the <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=541853" rel="external nofollow">Give Me Rules For a Game</a> thread.

  13. Hi folks,

I'm currently running a 2-hour A-brand show and a PPV. My roster is a nice size, not too big although a lot of the lower card guys don't get to appear on the tv show. My upercard and main eventers are always on the show.

So I'm thinking of starting a 1-hour B-brand show for the lower carders. What's the impact of this on my roster and finances?

Are my top guys going to complain that they weren't on the show or will this impact their 'happiness'?

Is this going to generate more income for me? Or will the production costs pretty much mean I'll be running the show at a loss every month? (this will obviously not be a prime time show, perhaps a graveyard or late night show)

While I'm at it I have another question:

My main tv-show is regularly getting B/B+ grades, but my networks just refuse to move it to the prime time timeslot.

    Any idea why?

    Roster:

    • It's a good opportunity to get some matches for undercard guys. It should help with stats, especially stamina since you can give longer matches to guys who get the chance.
    • I'm almost positive nobody gets upset at being left off a B-show.
    • It's not clear to me if it helps with morale of being left off the A-show.
    • Popularity changes are pretty inconsequential for a B-show, but you can get momentum built up.
    • You can get morale bonuses for "Please at a win from (show)" if you book competitive pairings.

    Finances:

    • You can book small cards, to minimize worker cost for the show.
    • Using guys on written deals keeps the show costs down. Try to avoid booking PPAs if you're having financial trouble.
    • You can save money on your main event guys by giving them contracts that skip the B-show.

Timeslot is based on company popularity/importance, not show grades.

  14. I just started a Thunderverse CWT game, ran my first show, and 5 different characters got 'Not suited to their gimmick' penalties.

    *smashes laptop*

WHY?!!! Why would you start people off with gimmicks that they're not suited for?

    *smash smash smash*

Ahem. Sorry about that. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I've historically changed gimmicks when people were unsuited (either from starting that way or becoming unsuited after I assigned it). That said, it's not clear to me there's actually an impact to match/angle ratings for it. I get the note on the main match page, but nothing in the Dirt Sheet tab.

  16. Looking for some 2001 WWF rules where I won't be starting the Invasion right away. I'm going to build up to it a bit, probably tease it every once in a while, but I would like there to be no Invasion until Wrestlemania of 2002. I do want wrestlers jumping ship to happen though. WCW Nitro will be taking the place of Smackdown. A WCW Brand and a WWF Brand will be happening. I probably won't hire many old WCW guys who didn't sign right away. But I may go with Hogan, Flair, Sting, Hall, and Nash.

I also have some CAWs that can be included in rules, or not included in rules,

3 Personalities/Color Commentators/Announcers/Managers (all male; includes user character)

    1 Manager/Personality (Female)

    6 Male Wrestlers

    5 Female Wrestlers/Managers.

I have a few ideas for this:

Treat them right: If you bring in any of the following, you must give them Creative Control in their contracts. You must hire at least 3 of them.

    • Hogan
    • Nash
    • Hall
    • Flair
    • DDP
    • Booker T
    • Goldberg
    • Scott Steiner
    • Sting

Awkward Pairing: One of the tag team champions must jump ship. However, they must continue to defend the titles for at least 3 months after this happens.

Who needs evolution?: Mark Jindrak must pin Triple H clean in a singles match on a PPV at some point

Buff has the Stuff: Buff Bagwell must win every title he's eligible for after the brand split. Bonus points whenever he holds multiple at once.

  18. What are everyone's favorite tag teams to bring in? I need a couple of lower level teams to use mostly as stepping stones, with room to build if they get hot.

Looking at maybe using The Latino Kings, but they don't have a lot of popularity in Canada...

Fighting Irish are great although they start with as much or more popularity as any team in CGC. I didn't really find any ready made teams fit to be middling in the division, which I thought was all well and good since the teams CGC starts with are fairly unsepctacular already.

I brought Jamie Atherton and Mimic in as a new team to bring some flashiness to the division. They don't have amazing chemistry, but their skill sets were what I wanted.

I tried the Good Ol' Boys for a bit and wasn't a fan. I'v got Going Coastal right now, but they start with no pop in Canada. Demarcus & Gray are kind of fun also, but also no pop in Canada to start with.
