Is the corollary to this that they also stop automatically learning languages when working in a region, at least most of the time? As it stands, they seem to gain passable knowledge pretty quickly and fluency outrageously quickly.

If I remember correctly (I haven't played it in about 7 years or so), but learning languages in FM (especially becoming fluent) is at least a slightly more realistically slow process.

You don't "assign" a push anymore. You just actually push them with strong booking and prominent card position.

The only time I've seen someone change styles that didn't involve becoming a Regular Wrestler was in my current OLLIE game where Mystery Pink went from being a Technician Striker to a Luchador, which, considering she works for a Classic Lucha Libre company, just makes sense.
I had someone in 2020 change their style to Comedy. I don't remember who though. It didn't necessarily fit my product though.
-
I had no idea this was a thing in any version. Since it appears to be put back by the new patch, I'm kind of glad it got lost so I could see this.

Style used to have a weird impact on auto-push in 2016 (I say "weird" because it didn't affect matches/segments), but that's been removed. I think it's mainly cosmetic now.
Size and body type impact the stats you said, and more importantly Star Quality.
Flabby is strictly worse than toned/ripped. The downside of asking for a size change is that if you ask someone to size up, they can sometimes end up becoming flabby. Their matches also get a slight hit while the change is taking place. Not sure there's any downside to asking them to get more built as you couldn't do it in the last version so I haven't seen any ill-effects yet.

It's just an organisation tool. When you book the relevant matches it'll automatically advance the tournament (unless you use the road agent note to tell it not to) but you can't automatically add the match to the show because the game only knows who's involved, not what type of match it is.
It also doesn't know what show each match is for and pre-booking has mechanics where that matters now.

Started over since I had a bunch of workers I shouldn't have had without travel costs and about an extra million dollars, so we'll see how that goes.

In the first iteration, the Lions of Japan got kind of hosed. Shinji got injured, Shozo quit, Shinji got injured again, then Shinji quit.

A company should not be able to offer exclusive written to workers who already have a written ironclad especially for a duration that is less than the ongoing contract.

There's still value for TCW in that deal. They stop him from signing elsewhere for the 2 years, but they have the exclusive option to re-sign him beyond the two years.

When i download the new patch, will the changes made effect my saved game? I think i saw somewhere on the forum that some of the Beta Patches didnt update saved games
It depends on what change and the nature of it. One of the changes involved the starting momentum trend of all workers in the game, which could only kind of be updated via a remote assistance code. Most changes just take effect starting immediately. Although, any consequences of the bugs would still be there so in some cases you may want to start a new game anyway.
You can look at the list of fixes in Tech Support forum.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. You have to use your non-wrestling onscreen personalities, in good to great segments, in order to get their momentum up. It's not as easy as it was in previous games.
That's good to know. Why do announcers and refs get cold momentum though?
-
I was about to post just this. Not sure why announcers and refs are losing momentum.

Only things I have off are:

New style colored lists

Mandatory Pre-Booking for TV

Industry & Economy

I haven't actually done a TV Show in this version yet, but conceptually I don't think mandatory pre-booking makes sense for something that airs weekly.

I just haven't found Industry and Economy to add much to the game. Maybe if I played with National/Multi-national sized companies it might be more interesting. Otherwise it's just numbers that multiply everything for all companies in the same area, which doesn't feel like it really adds much to the games I'm playing.

Is there any way to create a new entry in any of the things from the In-Game editor? Specifically I'd like to create an Era, but it really doesn't seem like you can add a new anything.
-
Yeah, I thought, the closest thing to live action anime there is right now, it might be CHIKARA, and they fit both the Lucharesu Entertainment and Comic Book Lucha Libre labels, I haven't checked in game but that's how I'd describe them, too. And going down the lucha route would differentiate my product from that of the other joshi promotion in the Cornellverse, too.
I'd probably request a variant on Comic Book Lucha Libre with Eye Candy added in as an expectation.
-
Wow, that's pretty much exactly what I had in mind.
-
The rosters seem REALLY big this time around, yeah. They're nearly all way over the minimum size requirement.
I kind of like it. It makes it feel like the companies have been making decisions more inline with what the player might do.
-
Yea, I meant as in "typical for the era I usually play as". Since most of the matches I book in a year are TV matches, the typical match for me is in the 2-3 minute range. But yea, your point is fair. I'd love the ability to set a default, though, ye.
Doesn't the game think most of those are squash matches?
-
This seems particularly useful now that who this applies to can be different per individual wrestler instead of just down the line of gimmick types like before.
-
Yeah, it's easy once you figure it out.
What if it wasn't something you had to memorize- like, what if you could figure it out because it makes sense?
Some of you have made zero user-oriented design choices and it shows.
Ex: nobody keeps their kitchen knives under the couch and remarks that "they're easy to find once you know where they are." That would be insane.
That's an interesting example because the heuristic that decision fails is actually one the Release button passes. It's very hard to accidentally click the release button where it's currently located whereas it would be very easy to accidentally have a knife related accident if they were kept under the couch.

I'd love to know what the biggest driver for the converter doing this is so I could go into my TEW2016 mod, edit it, and THEN do the conversion.
There's got to be something going wrong in the conversion process.
Isn't it the specific personality traits? So a guy who's really high on the mercenary slider gets the Mercenary personality type even if he was somehow a "Very Positive" influence in 2016?
-
How about Clash of Gods., a Scandinavian company where the wrestlers are the Norse gods.
-
I'm pretty sure Zelina, Sable, and Sunny didn't really do that other stuff until they became over from being at ringside.
-
I was flipping through company products and noticed this in NYCW

The region description practically dares you to start a company in Tasmania.
Order all pre-booking events list chronologically
in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 Suggestions
Posted
On the main pre-booking page, the first list of events is ordered chronologically, with events that occur more often (Weekly/TV) I believe on the top.
On the same page, the list of what event to move a pre-booking to is ordered alphabetically.
In the pre-booking for a match itself, the selection list of what event to make it for is ordered alphabetically.
The first option (chronologically) seems preferable to me since I don't necessarily memorize all the event names and when they are happening. I guess I could get used to the alphabetical list. Either way, they should all be the same.
