  1. Fair point on derailing the original intention. I would suggest reading diaries because they are naturally full of storylines and can really jumpstart your imagination and/or take you in new directions. For example, Historian made Riley McManus a star to me. Dark Raider made me a fan of QAW and opened the door to the women’s scene more generally— loads of ideas you can mine! Plus writing a diary yourself can get the creative process working too!

I also listen to a Stardom podcast and hearing people talk about their interpretations of storylines (Inc: debuts) gets me thinking about how to debut workers for my own diary (because they pick up on subtle things I don’t). Maybe there is something out there similar for real life promotions you like and again can give you inspiration.

Whats the name of this Podcast?

  2. Sort of off-topic because I do not really change stats for TEW. But I do change names and renders all of the time. I have said it in the past, but the AI comes up with some of the dumbest names and it will give multiple wrestlers a very obscure last name. I can't think of any off the top of my head but it happens all of the time.

Now if this was in the WMMA section of the site, then yes I change stats all of the time in that game. For instance, I always make Luke Hilton into the badass that he was for the first three WMMA games. I cannot have him be some gatekeeper.

Yeah this is what I do. What kind of name is Dandy Danny Draper? I'll roll with Danny Draper until he reaches the Main Event.

  3. You can find the Default database in the same thread where the game updates are posted on Tech Support.

As for your game, if you’re going clean slate, I would like to see an LU-influenced take on CGC. Just make Gargantuan Matanza. Alex can be a more ethical Dario Cueto, wanting to promote the most exciting wrestling in the world without the old rules & expectations. But he has to grapple with the fact that none of his challengers can overcome Gargantuan’s immense physicality. Whippy could be a lot of fun in a serial drama-influenced environment, as could Aaron Knight if you go in on the rumored DeColt ties. The name could be Canadian Combat Unleashed, paying homage to the past while establishing a revolutionary future.

I'm not familiar with Lucha Underground if thats what you're refering to, so that was flying over my Head.

I do like the Name though, something Canadian Combat Unleashed or Canadian Unleashed Combat. May be Better than going full NXT.

  4. CGC must die.

I accidently deleted the database of the Default Database.

I decided to try out Alt Cornelleverse 2018 and Unfortunately CGC has to die.

I'm a Big Fan of the DeColts and Aaron Knight but, I hate NOTBPW so I can't use my favorite Decolts Jack and Ricky. My plan is to use my my Created Avatar Zin along with his wealth to fix Alex's Mistakes and maybe get my boys back (idk how strong loyalty is).

CGC is small and majority of the roster has negative momentum and sorry talent. I'm going to rebrand CGC. I'm replacing World title and Canadian Title and adding Women. I'm going to start a network for the TV shows. I'm building Gargantuan as much as I can until Aaron knight goes over him. Use Alex to build some of these guys ENT skills.

I'm looking for new names for the Promotion. I know for sure that I want to use the color scheme as NXT 2.0.

  5. It will only affect your immersion, but I like the second idea better. There should be a reason why The Rock gets to face the winner - he trashed the old belt after all.

Instead of him throwing the Championship in the trash, TNT representatives can try and take the Title off of him as it is their Property on the Last Episode. The Rock lays the Smackdown on their candy asses and Throw the Championship on their unconscious bodies.

When the new TV Title is revealed Rock states his claim to the championship and have who ever you actually gonna give it to oppose him.

  6. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="RocheBag" data-cite="RocheBag" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="51512" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I basically only book Japanese companies. I cannot for the life of me get into booking weekly television, it just makes no sense in my head. My main save right now is actually with CWA, but the first thing I did was cancel the TV deal and change to a Japanese-style touring schedule. <p> </p><p> The main issue with the Japanese companies in TEW is the schedule isn't really realistic. They're set up just like American companies with one big show a month then a bunch of tour shows that lead up to it. In real life Japanese companies run way more than 12 big shows a year.</p><p> </p><p> New Japan Pro Wrestling in real life have at least 20 shows that would be considered "PPVs" in TEW, and that's not counting things like certain tournament dates that draw 10,000 + people like the last two nights of the G1 Climax <strong>before</strong> the final.</p><p> </p><p> So the first thing you need to do in my opinion to run a Japanese promotion is add way more big shows, which in turn allows you to get rid of some of the tour events because there is less time in between. In my CWA save I have 16 "PPVs." The easiest way to do this is adding more tournaments. Then with your tournaments a lot of them will take more than a month to run, the G1 Climax for example takes almost two. </p><p> </p><p> So when you add more big shows, then you make the space between some tournaments longer, you end up with no too many tour shows between the rest of the big shows.</p><p> </p><p> I'm not super familiar with PGHW, but looking at their schedule they have the ELITE Series, and the ELITE TAG Series. I would the ELITE Series as a 20 man tournament with two blocks of 10 wrestlers each. This means you would need 18 tour dates before the final to pull it off with five matches on each card (one block wrestles one night, the other the next, etc.) To pull that off you would need at least a month and a half, maybe two. You could run the tag tournament the same way but with slightly less teams, maybe two blocks of eight meaning you would need 14 tour dates, five or six weeks.</p><p> </p><p> Then you could add a Junior Heavyweight Title with a tournament that goes along with it, another Heavyweight tournament but in a knockout format instead of round robin, stuff like that. Tournaments are very big in Japanese wrestling and a great way to fill up the time. If you run a few big tournaments and a few small tournaments in a year, they take up so much time that you end up with a big show every couple of weeks the rest of the year, meaning you only need to book a few tour shows leading up to each one, some none at all.</p><p> </p><p> I'll attach my schedule for my CWA save so you can have a look at it. You'll notice the only really long tours are for tournaments which are fun to book anyway, the rest are a few shows at most.</p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://imgur.com/a/95wdMeE" rel="external nofollow">https://imgur.com/a/95wdMeE</a></p><p> </p><p> Ultimate Showdown is my season finale, Stone/DeColt Memorial is my version of the ELITE Series I explained above. Juniors Unleashed is the same thing for Juniors. Ed Henson Memorial is my tournament for tag teams in the same format. Canada Cup is a knockout version of my Heavyweight tournament and the same thing for women running at the same time. Everything else is only a few shows. I may add more big shows as I see fit but for now there's always something going on. Hardly any "filler" at all. </p><p> </p><p> Tour shows are also super easy to book. You just put people who are feuding with each other in multi-man tag matches against each other. This is why stables are so important so everyone has people to tag with.</p><p> </p><p> Anyway I hope this rant gave you a little insight into why I find Japanese companies so fun to book, and maybe helps you get started if you choose to go with PGHW or BCG!</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I think I've seen you post something about a Japan style CWA before and it intrigued me. All I know is Western Style like WWE AEW and Impact/TNA, I don't know anything about Japan except Bullet Club, Nakamura v Aj Styles, G1 Climax, and Wrestle Kingdom. I don't understand how the scheduling work even when looking at your schedule.</p><p> </p><p> Why are there numbered events with the un-numbered events at the end?</p><p> </p><p> I know in the West the Months (ignoring WWE) leading to the Event is building stories to certain Matches, how is Japan doing this? Are those numbered events just TV shows?</p><p> </p><p> Aren't these more shows than the TV format?</p>
  7. There's no stat necessarily I look for. I'll change my match focus if whoever I'm pushing can't carry match grades so I'll still get good show grades. But the priority for me is what does the worker look like and what is the character's bio. Do I draw inspiration from either? Do either give me ideas for a push or a story?

I just don't find min/maxing fun on a booking simulator. I prefer to play in a way that gets me invested in my game, and ratings don't do that for me.

A quick question about Match focus. I'm using Regular but, is there any disadvantage to using Tight Focus over Regular?
