  1. This is why i love kayfabe in the pre-social media era. The sheer amount of stuff you could get away with is hilariously carney. On the other hand, i just can't imagine loving being a wrestler in that time period, having to keep kayfabe up at all times. Like, c'mon man, i wanna live my life. I wouldn't mind the traveling, though.
  2. I saw tony curtis and i was like "wait wut?" Lol. Good to see Renée's matches finally moving up to midcard. She made quite the progress in 1 year. Pretty stacked card! Goes to show just how huge the montreal territory was back in the day. Also, how is Gino Brito doing? Is he teaming up with tony parissi already at this point? Cause that could be a good tag team to build up for a dream match against the rougeaus. In fact, how's ivan koloff doing? Cause we're around the time period where johnny rougeau came up with the koloff character for him
  3. Wait, hold on...the winnipeg and vancouver show literally had the exact same matches as co-main and main events? And tolos and borne's title switch didn't count in winnipeg? I'm so confused...
  4. This has been really good so far! Its so rare seeing something about local montreal wrestling, especially from the old school era! And seeing renée martel and michele richard as wrestlers...wat?? Lol Is renée gonna go through the drug problems that she went to IRL?
  5. Well, what i had thought about broadly is that pee wee and his dad owns CZCW, with the Keith Family playing the executive VPs roles that the Elite has (along with Fox Mask probably. Dude's been loyal to CZCW forever, it would only make sense to have him in such a role for the company). This would mean good ol' Sam would not only be executive VP, but MAW would also become sort of the unofficial development fed for CZCW. And the whole forbidden door aspect would already be fulfilled with the COTT. A rich and big CZCW still being in the COTT would do wonders for the visibility and popularity of the indy feds (and OLLIE) that compose the confederation. Maybe even organise a yearly tourney that would showcase all the talent in the confed on TV? But yeah, the hard part is finding an equivalent of Cody. There is no real equivalent to Cody Rhodes in the C-Verse (well-known wrestler who competed in SWF/USPW/TCW now doing the indies and being motivated to stick it to em), at least, from my memories...
  6. Yknow, i've been checking the databse recently and i couldn't help but motice That, in pee wee germaine's profile, it states that he is the son of a billionaire pharmaceutical company owner...so i am asking that question: if, at one point, Cliff Anderson decides to give the reigns over to pee wee and the pahrmaceutical company's billions and becomes only a full time announcer, could CZCW become the C-verse's Equivalent of AEW? After all, CZCW in-universe already does a smark-friendly product like AEW does, and it's also based in a big market (southern california instead of florida...well, i dunno how big a market florida is, but you get the point). Plus, with the SWF and TCW losing steam and people in-universe probably being burned out by sports Entertainement in gensral like IRL, a move like this could be made to capitalise on that and offer an alternative. So yeah, if CZCW gets bought by pee wee's dad's billions and becomes the C-Verse's AEW, what would happen? Which wrestlers would they sign? Would they stay close to their high-flying indy roots, or would they go after more established names? I can see CZCW bringing back Mikey James and bring in Mainstream Hernandez and other workrate-heavy workers from SWF and USPW and poach the keith brothers from japan as well as Helikaon and a few indy guys like youngman, but as for the rest? Do they sign established names from the big 3? Cause i dunno if guys like remo or Joey Morgan fits the CZCW style...maybe the product changes slightly?
  7. That is food for thought, indeed. Of course, the real reason why omega's not going after the TV title is to both avoid cries of chauvinism and being called a selfish prick on twitter as well as putting over the younger stars like darby, but yeah, now that you said it, it is interesting...in fact, thinking about my OLLIE game and my handling of the Mexico title, you can ask some questions regarding title names, as well. Like, what the hell is a universal title? Why are there no aliens from other planets of the universe challenging for the title, since its supposed to be "universal"? And why is an Austrian the UK champion? Or why Christian is the "european champion" if he's canadian?
  8. In my OLLIE game on 2016 (i know its a 2020 board, but still, my philosophy applies to TEW in general), i use the mexico title both as a workhorse title and to prepare up and coming stars to the main event, with those ready achieving the 10 title defenses necessary to receive a shot at the universal title. So far, only Extraordinario Jr. Achieved the feat, with El Mitico Jr. Soon getting the belt at the end of his feud with Chess Maniac, eventually reaching the 10 title defenses as his pop is getting close to main event level.
  9. Holy *****!! Paul daley outta nowhere! And sexyama has achieved another level: He is now Manlyama! Pele also beating frank trigg is a huge surprise. Trigg has been disappointing in japan, so far. Some really good fights in both tournaments. Little nog vs glover, akiyama vs babalu, Minowaman vs belfort, souza-bustamante and condit-kondo. Damn, so sick! BTW, why are you putting the korean flag for akiyama?
  10. Oh, don't worry, that's all i have to say on this matter. I too miss chikara. Them and DDT were a breath of fresh air in wrestling. We're here to have fun, after all.
  11. That's so weird. If chikara closed, it couldn't possibly be only because of quack's allegations. It must be because of bad attendance and losing money of some sorts...which, i wouldn't be surprised if fans never came back following the whole fiasco with the company closing and that weird ARG Storyline that confused and frustrated everyone back in the day. Besides, he's not guilty of anything, yet, those are still allegations, but i'm not going there.
  12. Same predictions, but repalce Sapp and Ludwig with Arlovski and Kawajiri.
  13. Holy Kamisama, Kid Yamamoto from outta nowhere! If that match didn't turn him and Aoki into major stars, then i don't know what will. This is arguably the Japanese equivalent of the Forerest griffin- Stephen Bonnar fight. And fedor does it again. Randleman and Hunt did a lot better than expected, but the Tsar reigns supreme once again.

  17. Great card! Mark Hunt with those big shots from outta nowhere, And it appears many fighters went to Sagat's School of Muay thai in preparation for the event! The final 4 of both tournaments are insane! The lightweight GP, especially. I legit don't know who will win!

  20. Two huge cards to kickstart the last stretch of the year! Some very salivating fights in there!
  21. i figured something was wrong when i didn't see any japanese or japan-based foreigners on the card...and then i read that it takes place in vegas. pretty ambitious to have an event take place in UFC Territory, though. are guys like sonnen, denis kang and glover teixera on one night only deals? cause i know that nick diaz and his brother are PRIDE Fanboys and Carlos Condit did make his name in japan before going to UFC, but i just can't imagine chael sonnen and texeira fighting in japan. Kang and GSP, Maybe, but not those two.
  22. Woah, so many upsets! Kikuta winning is probably the biggest one of the night! I don't agree with the tamura-sobral decision. I believe sobral won. A rematch down the road? Frank shamrock shows he hasn't lost a step. Him vs minowaman will be very interesting, to say the least.
