I don't think Claudio is being petty.

The BCC is about loyalty, it's about exclusivity, it's about bleeding together and forging a bond in combat.

By tagging with Kingston, his nemesis, and by tagging with FTR, BCC's very recent rivals, Danielson is going against the kinship and the brotherhood of the BCC. It wasn't that long ago that Claudio and Mox had a heated rivalry with FTR and I think he's justified in believing Danielson is out of order for breaking bread with them.

He did the adult thing by walking away. Most wrestling bookers would have done a swerve out of nowhere and had Claudio jump Danielson six months later.

How is that ANY different than when the BCC teamed with former rivals PAC and Takeshita for last year's Blood & Guts?

I'm a bit confused with this take. Isn't it good booking that Claudio is upset that Danielson is wrestling in a dangerous match, teaming with Claudio's eternal rival? Isn't this the kind of booking and storytelling that the doomposters in this thread constantly claim they want to see?

It also doesn't mean there will be another Claudio/Kingston feud. It's well-established in kayfabe that Claudio and Kingston will always hate each other. I'm glad they're not ignoring this and insulting the intelligence of the audience.

It makes Claudio look petty and dishonest, which is poor characterization given the finish of Grand Slam and his previous AEW booking in general.

To be fair, a TON of ECW workers were beyond AWFUL but Heyman was able to make them entertaining. Same thing with OVW where Cornette was able to accentuate strengths and hide weaknesses. I don't need the workers to be legit bad asses. I just need them to play the part and be entertaining while they're at it. And hopefully Jade puts the work in to improve, because after a while it will be expected.

And here's the thing- she's not that entertaining. Her character is undefined outside of "I'm hot and I think I'm better than everyone" (in wrestling? What a novel concept!), and her promos are not good. And she never sells. I'm not just talking about in the ring. In AEW, every feud, she never once acted like whomever she was feuding with was a threat, and in fact many times seemed bored with the fact that she had to wrestle anyone at all. 2 and a half years of this in AEW, by the way. If the wrestler doesn't give a *STEAM WHISTLE* about what's going on, why should the fans watching?

Jade is so green, could have used another year or two in PC. I guess WWE gave her a great contract with the main roster push baked in due to how hot AEW was at that point.

Actually, by the time she signed, AEW had cooled off a bit. Injuries, lower attendance, lower ratings. The huge, massive turnout at All In was a bit of a blip.

At least WWE has the good sense to keep her in tag matches, for the most part, with the exception of that one really quick squash with Chelsea. Her solo matches in AEW were... Well.

  5. Oh, yeah, she's got a terrific look. She's also subpar in the ring and on the mic. That makes her little different from all the big fellas Vince tried to hot-shot to the main event picture over the years unsuccessfully. I'll admit she has a knack for getting herself over, but that usually comes at the expense of other workers. Two and a half years in AEW and the only one who benefited from Jade Cargill's massive push was... Cargill.

And everyone told that was stupid af, what's your point on this Matt? 😂

Oh, well since the WWE always learns their lesson... Like the time they tried to put Batista, fresh off his success in Hollywood, into the main event of Wrestlemania and were shocked that the fans turned on him. It's a good thing they never tried anything like that again!

Oh man, thankfully they will have a no disqualification match on the show people are paying to see!

    A) People paid to see last night's show, or do you think that the WWE gives away all those tickets?

    B) The WWE can and has had "no-disqualification" matches end in disqualification, like they did for 2 years running at Hell In A Cell.

  8. I think may favorite thing about this whole storyline is how, when it started, it looked like Stokeley was there to break-up Kris and Willow, and instead they went with Willow being just SO DARN POSITIVE that Stoke's heart grew three sizes, so much so that he apologized to Eddie Kingston for saying he smelled like Burger King & Newports.

Now, they need to deliver on that promise of Copeland versus Willow, so she can become the unified Turner Networks champion!

Charlotte doing it works for me since the women are smaller than the guys I still believe it does damage.

Yeah. While not the big powerhouse like Nia Jax, Piper Niven, or Jade Cargill, Charlotte is bigger than the average competitor in the women's division, and it doesn't look like she's trying to give them a hug.

  10. No stories or purpose? I think that's an unfair criticism, considering there were quite a few matches last night that were built up story-wise. Now, someone might not LIKE all the particular stories (Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O'Reilly- the bland guy who was in NXT vs the bland guy who was in NXT!), but that's a separate issue.
