Yeah, pro wrestling is known for never overhyping anything...
There's wrestling hyperbole, and then there's just flat-out bull *STEAM WHISTLE*.
Unless the talent in question is eating up nearly an entire division for a year and then flitting off to greener pastures once you realize you have to start putting people over.

Jade Cargill is a "Once In A Lifetime Generational Talent"?!?
-
Being drafted ahead of AJ Styles.
-
Nia Jax, though?

Why is it so difficult to book a realistic and interesting draft? Carmelo Hayes over Randy Orton, Nia Jax over LA Knight or the Bloodline for Smackdown lmao zero sense kayfabe-wise, same BS with RAW picks.
The #1 contender for the Universal Title wasn't drafted until Round 4!

And everyone told that was stupid af, what's your point on this Matt? 😂
Oh, well since the WWE always learns their lesson... Like the time they tried to put Batista, fresh off his success in Hollywood, into the main event of Wrestlemania and were shocked that the fans turned on him. It's a good thing they never tried anything like that again!

Oh man, thankfully they will have a no disqualification match on the show people are paying to see!
A) People paid to see last night's show, or do you think that the WWE gives away all those tickets?
B) The WWE can and has had "no-disqualification" matches end in disqualification, like they did for 2 years running at Hell In A Cell.

For the second week in a row, a match with Naomi ends in... a disqualification.

He's going full Kaufman.

I think may favorite thing about this whole storyline is how, when it started, it looked like Stokeley was there to break-up Kris and Willow, and instead they went with Willow being just SO DARN POSITIVE that Stoke's heart grew three sizes, so much so that he apologized to Eddie Kingston for saying he smelled like Burger King & Newports.
Now, they need to deliver on that promise of Copeland versus Willow, so she can become the unified Turner Networks champion!

L.A. Knight, the WWE's breakout star of 2023, is 41 years old.
Age is definitely an issue in AEW, but I think they're prepping younger guys faster than the WWE is.

I think he lost a match once so I can't take him seriously as a challenger ever again.
Which match specifically?

Charlotte doing it works for me since the women are smaller than the guys I still believe it does damage.
Yeah. While not the big powerhouse like Nia Jax, Piper Niven, or Jade Cargill, Charlotte is bigger than the average competitor in the women's division, and it doesn't look like she's trying to give them a hug.

No stories or purpose? I think that's an unfair criticism, considering there were quite a few matches last night that were built up story-wise. Now, someone might not LIKE all the particular stories (Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O'Reilly- the bland guy who was in NXT vs the bland guy who was in NXT!), but that's a separate issue.

At least Lashley’s body type could believably deliver the move (if he could make it look better). People like Edge and Charlotte have no business doing a move like that.
Ricky Starks' spear tends to look pretty good, on average, given his size.

Side note: am I the only one thinking his Spear is pretty bad?
Can't be any worse than Edge's. One WhatCulture guy (not Simon) once described it as something like "tenderly embracing his opponent before gently lowering them to the ground."

Lashley isn't supposed to be entertaining. He should be booked to go out there and wreck people.

"Angry Adam, the Mad King, and the Chicken... That sounds like one of Chaucer's tales!"

What I'd like to know is, why not Lashley? He can work face or heel, he's a guy who can have solid good matches with just about anyone, and I'd say he does have a bit of credibility (the Karrion Kross vortex of suck notwithstanding).

Billed as a tag but changed on the day to a handicap match so officially Jones wasn’t in the match. The past two mania’s booking has been much better than the past my only complaint is we didn’t need 15+ minutes of celebration bs at the end of night 2 but mania still matters
Like I said, it SHOULD matter. Just like championships SHOULD matter, but every now and then you get a title hot potatoe'd or they put the belt on someone who is clearly not at that level (by the way, good luck in your free agency, Jinder Mahal!), and so forth.
For L.A, Knight, winning Act I of whatever isn't all that. Mania should be the blow-off. If Styles vs. Knight keeps going well beyond that, then that's a misstep on Triple H's part, in my opinion.

Saying that Mania doesn’t matter tells me all I need to know also Nathan Jones wasn’t part of the match
It was billed as a tag match, Jones was involved (albeit very briefly), it counts. And Mania SHOULD matter, but that's up to the booking.

If you got the story you wouldn’t have complained Knights win at maina didn’t mean anything. You can not like the story they’re telling but to say Knights clean win at the biggest show of the year didn’t mean anything because AJ beat him in a rematch on smackdown after cheating is just wrong. If for example AJ beat him in 2 minutes clean I could see that argument but that’s not what happened heck they had almost as much time as their mania match.
It wasn't the blow-off match, it wasn't for a title, then no it doesn't really mean anything. So it was at Mania. So what? Here's a brief list of other people who have won at Wrestlemania-
Men On A Mission
Nathan Jones
Snooki
Michael Cole.

No I was explaining the story to you since you obviously didn’t understand it.No, I get the story. It's just a bad story. I could explain the plot of Red Zone Cuba, that isn't going to magically turn it into Citizen Kane.

AJ had to cheat to get the win after Knight beat him clean at maina. So you bitch about a DQ finish to lead to a bigger match and you bitch when a heel cheats to win a rematch after losing clean to set up a rubber match.
So what you're saying is that if they run it back again, then the win at Mania did not in fact mean anything.

Oh, yeah, she's got a terrific look. She's also subpar in the ring and on the mic. That makes her little different from all the big fellas Vince tried to hot-shot to the main event picture over the years unsuccessfully. I'll admit she has a knack for getting herself over, but that usually comes at the expense of other workers. Two and a half years in AEW and the only one who benefited from Jade Cargill's massive push was... Cargill.
