The champions looked slick while their challengers worked well together too. Even in a relatively short tag team match, Sting was getting exhausted towards the end and this cost his team even though he wasn't involved in the decision which came in 8:46 when CM Punk defeated Roderick Strong by submission with an Arm Triangle Choke. CM Punk & Colt Cabana make defence number 2 of their PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. It is now sadly clear that Sting's advancing years are overtaking him. 66

Colt Cabana has switched to a comedian gimmick, rated 78.

Roderick Strong is improving in rumble skills.

Daniel Lyon v D'Lo Brown

A little surprise as Daniel Lyon defeated the veteran D'Lo Brown. Since going it alone, Lyon has quietly gone about his business and is chalking up wins, slowly moving himself up the pecking order in PSW. D'Lo clearly wasn't happy about his defeat which came in 12:21 by pinfall. 59

Jeff Jarrett cuts a backstage promo on Chris Jericho, saying tonight he will kick his ass and take the title. Simple. Effective. True? 70

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/Generic04_zpsownldjao.jpg

PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

Kevin Steen (champion) v Jay Lethal

A keenly contested championship contest where Steen's brutality met Lethal's high octane offence. It was Steen's hard hitting that won the day as he bested his challenger in 10:36 by submission with a Sharpshooter. Kevin Steen makes defence number 2 of his PSW Youth Championship title. 65

Eiji Ezaki v Lance Storm

Grudges looked to be settled here as two men who have been attacking each other left, right and centre met for the second successive month. This time the outcome was different, though again the match was a little disappointing. Ezaki overcame his Canadian nemesis, albeit through a little skullduggery in 15:25 by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage. 58

The two didn't click and it made for an awkward bout.

It's Chris Jericho's turn in the backstage interview area. He addresses his challenger for tonight, Jeff Jarrett. Jericho says he is the better wrestler, the better singer… the better man. And he'll still be champion after tonight. 86

Chris Jericho improvised well during the interview.

Adam Copeland v Alex Wright

Copeland has been impressive since he arrived in PSW only three weeks ago and he continued this tonight with a very good victory over the talented German. Copeland earned the win in 14:50 by pinfall with a Leaping DDT. 65

Adam Copeland looked good.

CROWNING GLORY TAG TEAM SERIES FINAL

Cade Thesz & Rob Van Dam v Desperate Measures

The first of two big Crowning Glory Series finals to determine who will challenge for the titles at the biggest show of the year. Both teams fought with purpose, taking their time a little compared to normal, keen not to make any mistakes that could cost them a place at Crowning Glory VIII. It was Thesz & Van Dam who stamped their ticket, getting a well earned shot at CM Punk and Colt Cabana by defeating the former champions Desperate Measures in 14:40 when Cade Thesz defeated Yoshihiro Tajiri by pinfall. 67

Aaron Stevens needs something to freshen his character up.

Aaron Stevens and Rob Van Dam are improving in technical skills.

Cade Thesz & Rob Van Dam have won their first seven matches.

CROWNING GLORY SERIES FINAL

AJ Styles v CM Punk

Punk comes out for his second match of the night and what a match as two of PSW's longest standing rivals squared off in their best battle yet. Action was fast paced, intense and even throughout and both men would be more than worthy winners. In the end, it was AJ who became the first man to win the Crowning Glory Series for two straight years and won it for the third time overall in the six years it has been running. He sets up his championship match for Crowning Glory VIII in 22:44 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. 88 – match of the night

The two have pretty good chemistry and it lifted the match.

AJ Styles wins his sixth match in a row.

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/Generic11_zps25f9747a.jpg

PSW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Chris Jericho (champion) v Jeff Jarrett

Can two stars follow PSW's homegrown best? Not quite, but this was an excellent match also. There was a personal element to this match thanks to comments from the two and Jarrett's guitar show a couple of weeks back. Jericho even broke out into song halfway through the match and sounded decent, which pissed off Jarrett.

The two battled for nearly half an hour before Jericho retained in 28:47 by submission with a Lion Tamer. Chris Jericho makes defence number 3 of his PSW National Championship title. 86

Seven in a row for Jericho.

Show rating: B+ 84

PSW has increased in popularity in the South East.

Attendance: 7,951 (third highest in PSW history)

Profit: $91,740

The show was the second best in PSW history.

AJ Styles v CM Punk was the third best match in PSW history.

Chris Jericho v Jeff Jarrett was the eighth best match in PSW history.

QUICK RESULTS

Chris Jericho beat Jeff Jarrett to retain the National Championship

AJ Styles beat CM Punk in Crowning Glory Series Final

Cade Thesz & Rob Van Dam beat Desperate Measures in Crowning Glory Tag Team Series Final

Adam Copeland beat Alex Wright

Eiji Ezaki beat Lance Storm

Kevin Steen beat Jay Lethal to retain the Youth Championship

Daniel Lyon beat D'Lo Brown

CM Punk & Colt Cabana beat Roderick Strong & Sting to retain the National Tag Team Championship

Randy Orton beat Low Ki (pre show)

Christopher Daniels beat Amazing Red (pre show)

Unusually though, it is Potter who joins him inside the squared circle. Potter tells Bret that PSW has been losing a lot of money over the past few months and a significant reason for this is the high amount of money being paid out to the talent. Potter tells Bret that this amount needs to be reduced, and he will take the finer detail of the new talent budget backstage, but one thing he will make public is that until the budget is reached there will be no new signings and indeed, it is likely that talent will have to leave before anyone can take their place. Bret does not look too happy. 63

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/GenericTV01_zps79d95516.jpg

PSW TV TITLE

Caprice Coleman (champion) v Chris Hero

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Caprice Coleman defeated Chris Hero in 9:42 by pinfall with a Thermal Shock. Caprice Coleman makes defence number 4 of his PSW TV Title title. 59

Six wins in a row for Coleman.

CM Punk speaks from backstage. Punk says he is relieved to have got last week behind him as fighting Colt Cabana was something he did not want to do. He is happy too, having reached the Crowning Glory Series Final and he says it doesn't matter whether it is AJ Styles or Randy Orton who he will fight in the Final, he will win against either of them. 72

CROWNING GLORY TAG TEAM SERIES SEMI FINAL

The Wolves v Desperate Measures

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Desperate Measures defeated The Wolves in 10:57 when Yoshihiro Tajiri defeated Davey Richards by pinfall with a Brainbuster. 63

Davey Richards is improving in rumble skills.

Dusty Rhodes interviews Chris Jericho. As a result of D'Lo's poor effort, Psychosis had a comfortable time and duly prevailed in 11:43 by pinfall with a Guillotine Legdrop. 58 CROWNING GLORY TAG TEAM SERIES QUARTER FINAL Cade Thesz & Rob Van Dam v Londrick A good match between an established team who were long time champions in the past and a new team of protege and mentor who are fast becoming one of the top teams in the company. It was the new team who beat the former champions to make it five wins out of five in 10:50 when Cade Thesz defeated Brian Kendrick by submission. 68 Cade Thesz suffered a cut arm in the match. Jeff Jarrett v Randy Orton A great match as the veteran got the better of the former PSW National champion. Orton had his chances to put away the guitar playing son of Jerry, but was unable to complete the job and ultimately he ended up suffering defeat in 14:33 as Jarrett won by submission with a Figure-Four Leglock. 73 Chris Jericho speaks from backstage, warning Sting to stay out of the match tonight or he will suffer consequences. 70 Jericho struggled going off script. http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/Generic04_zpsownldjao.jpg PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP Aaron Stevens v Kevin Steen v Matt Sydal Some great action in the triple threat involved the three leading contenders for the vacant Youth Championship. Stevens and Sydal were probably the favourites going into the match so it came as a bit of a surprise that neither of them left as the champion as Kevin Steen became the sixth PSW Youth champion, winning in 13:07 by defeating Matt Sydal by pinfall with a Steenalizer. Kevin Steen wins the PSW Youth Championship title. 65 Matt Sydal is improving in performance skills. CROWNING GLORY SERIES QUARTER FINAL Low Ki v AJ Styles Both men fought with purpose and produced a tremendous contest. AJ withstood Ki's hard hitting offence while Ki countered AJ's aerial attack very well. It was AJ who advanced to the semi finals in 13:34 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. 73 AJ Styles has switched to a Highlight Reel gimmick, rated 63. The two wrestlers didn't click which made for an awkward bout. http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/GenericTagTeam02_zpsa9f639bc.jpg PSW NATIONAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP CM Punk & Colt Cabana (champions) v Christopher Daniels & Stu Sanders Despite being an unlikely pairing who only ever teamed together once before at Lethal, Daniels and Sanders displayed excellent chemistry and team work. With this, they caused the current champions many problems in the match and threatened to pull off the upset. The champs hung on though and just about made a successful first defence in 10:12 when Colt Cabana defeated Stu Sanders by pinfall with a Lakeshore Drive. CM Punk & Colt Cabana make defence number 1 of their PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. 66 Stu Sanders is improving in flying skills. Eiji Ezaki v Lance Storm Despite some great action on show, this was a little disappointing and wasn't as well received as many expected it to be. This was mainly because the two didn't click and it made the bout look awkward. Ezaki's rising popularity thanks to the success of his 'Jap Pop' album has seen him win many new fans, though they didn't help him when Lance Storm locked on his signature hold to take the match in 17:41 by submission with a Canadian Maple Leaf. 64 http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/Generic11_zps25f9747a.jpg PSW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Chris Jericho (champion) v Roderick Strong (with Sting) The stand out match of the night as Roderick Strong, making his main event debut and competiting well above his normal level not only stepped up to the plate, but performed exceptionally well. With the Icon in his corner (though Sting never physically got involved) encouraging all the way, as did the seven thousand or so crowd, Roderick Strong nearly upset the odds and won the National Championship. Jericho hung on and eventually bettered his challenger in 20:43 by submission with a Lion Tamer. Chris Jericho makes defence number 2 of his PSW National Championship title. Even Jericho was impressed by Strong's performance and shook his hand after the match, showing a new found respect for his opponent tonight. 81 – match of the night Chris Jericho won his sixth straight match. Roderick Strong is improving in rumble skills. Roderick Strong's win streak ends at seven. Show rating: B- 76 PSW has increased in popularity in the South East. Caprice Coleman wins the PSW TV Title title. 53 Low Ki's six match win streak ends. While Caprice Coleman is celebrating in the ring, cameras follow Low Ki in the back. He is clearly angry at losing the TV Title and he comes across his opponent for Sunday night, AJ Styles. Ki viciously attacks Styles, throwing him into a chain link fence that cordons off electrical equipment from the walkway. 53 CROWNING GLORY SERIES QUARTER FINAL CM Punk v Teddy Hart In a bout that featured great action and average heat, CM Punk defeated Teddy Hart in 12:01 by submission with an Arm Triangle Choke. 68 Teddy Hart could do with something to freshen his character up.
