World Wrestling Federation: Takeover

Recommended Posts

The date is April 1983, and the wrestling world is going through one of the biggest changes it has ever seen. A radical new promoter by the name of Vincent Kennedy McMahon has grasped hold of the World Wrestling Federation, and he has put every other promotion in the world on notice, he's coming for you. McMahon has put everything that he is worth on the line, hoping that his vision of a world wide empire can be realized, and he has decided to surround himself with the very best to try to achieve his goal. The best wrestlers, the best announcers, the best everything. Every wrestling analyist is ready to point and laugh in the face of McMahon for dreaming of a global empire, and they have many questions as to if he can pull if off. Their biggest question though, his hiring of an absolute unknown in the wrestling scene as head booker. A nineteen year old from St. Louis has been hired by McMahon to take over the booking duties, something that has left every person in the wrestling industry in shock. Nobody knows how he got the job, but Sam Haynes did just that, he has gotten the booking responsibilites of one of the largest wrestling promotions around, and the first year college student plans to turn the wrestling industry upside down and help McMahon realize his dreams. They will stop at no expense, they will not hesitate to put some people out on the streets, they will do anything for their ultimate goal........Takeover.
World Wrestling Federation Size: Cult Style: Vinnie Mac's Attack Location: Tri State (USA) Television Shows: WWF Championship Wrestling (Sundays at 7PM on US Syndication Small 1) Big Event Schedule Saturday Night's Main Event (Last Saturday of January, February, April, May, June, July, September, November, and December) WWF In Your Neighborhood (Every Thursday) Wrestlemania (March 28th) Summerslam (August 28th) The Wrestling Classic (October 28th) Champions World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion Bob Backlund World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion Don Muraco World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions The Wild Samoans
WWF's new head booker made his first official move before he booked his first show, when he announced that for WWF to be sucessful world wide, they needed a catchy name for their end of the month spectaculars. It has been made official that apart from Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and The Wrestling Classic, the end of month shows will be entitled, Saturday Night's Main Event. His story and the new story of the WWF starts now. Will it be a sucessful one, or will McMahon fall flat on his face? Will the takeover be sucessful, or will order be restored to the wrestling world? Tune in and see.

Andre, you looked like you were moving even slower than usual tonight. Is the Giant losing a step McMahon? I think that he is, and I am going to expose him for what he is, nothing more than a fraud. He then was ordered to climb one more time, but before he could jump off, Atlas' tag team partner Rocky Johnson made his way out to the ring and ran Snuka and Albano off, as he pointed and yelled at Snuka, saying he will pay for what he did to Atlas.
vs. Andre the Giant versus Samula w/ Lou Albano

Samula bursted out of the gates and delivered a number of headbutts to the chest of Andre the Giant
Andre was taken aback by this, but it seemed not to damage him too much. Andre felt his prescence though and turned around to spot Sarge. Slaughter quickly backed away to get out of the ring, and he narrowly ducked a big boot from Andre the Giant. Slaughter went to the back as Andre pointed to him then made the motion that he was going to break him.
vs. Ricky Steamboat versus Johnny Rodz

This match was very fast paced with both men hitting numerous arm drags and other quick maneuvers right out of the gate. We all saw last week when Masked Superstar took out our champion, Bob Backlund. Well Backlund has demanded a piece of the Masked Superstar, and tonight, he's going to get it. This promises to be a great main event, and if I was Masked Superstar, I'd watch out, Backlund can't be too happy about what went down last week.
vs. Bob Backlund versus Masked Superstar

Backlund came out trying to get a feel for what the Masked Superstar was trying to do.
Superstar let him know by hitting him with a big right hand to the jaw.
Superstar then pushed Backlund around the ring, dropping him with a big right hand whenever he would try to lock in a hold.
Backlund finally took down The Masked Superstar with a double leg takedown, then locked in some serious holds on him.
Backlund motioned for the Crossface Chickenwing, but then Ray Stevens came out and got Backlund's attention by standing on the apron.
Masked Superstar then leveled Backlund with a low blow from behind, and rolled him up for a shocking victory.
Winner: Masked Superstar Time: 9:53 Match Grade: B
Vince McMahon then gets a word with Bob Backlund before the show is over. Vince McMahon Mr. Backlund, this is the second week in a row that Ray Stevens and The Masked Superstar have worked together to cause you great pain. What do you have to say about this? Bob Backlund WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?!? WHAT WAS THAT?!?!? If those two hooligans put their nose where it doesn't belong again....well....well....let's just say I'll have some backup. So I dare you two spineless bums to try it again, the Champ will have someone waiting for you! Backlund then storms out of the scene and he can be heard yelling, "WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT!?!?!?"
