From PWTORCH.COM Tuesday, Week 1 June 2007 TNA Impact/WWE Raw News & Big Two Releases! Last Night the draw of Shane McMahon on Impact was a huge boost to TNA, over 5,000 fans filled the Florence Civic Center (5,303) in which we saw Kurt Angle lay down a huge challenge and Shane debut. WWE Raw saw John Cena bt Johnny Nitro in the Main Event in front of just 2,000 fans in Quebec. WWE.COM is has a report detailing extensive releases, in a move which may come as a surprise to wrestling fans everywhere, maybe Stephanie M-Levesque’s interest or Shanes departure to TNA has caused or contributed to some or all of these releases?? Those released are Brooke, Kelly Kelly, Layla, Mike Chioda, Scott Armstrong, Vickie Guerrero, Gerry Briscoe, Sgt Slaughter, Teddy Long, and more interestingly, former head WCW official Nick Patrick, Jonathan Coachman & maybe not surprisingly Eric Bischoff who has been off screen for a few months. TNA have confirmed to several sources, the releases of Jack Melendez, Bob Backlund & Hector Guerrero, in what is the establishing moves by Shane McMahon.

From PWTORCH.COM Wednesday, Week 1 June 2007 More WWE Releases! Following yesterdays releases, WWE.COM is reporting on several more releases. The big news is the firings of Michael Cole & Tazz, the former WWE Smackdown Announce Team. PWTorch gathers that Vince & Stephanie McMahon have grown increasingly tired of the brand split and intend to end it, sooner rather than later. This would leave Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler & JBL to form a new announce team. Tazz & Michael Cole were growing good chemistry as an announce team, but as they were split up for the ECW Brand Extension, neither will be consider big losses. No word if TNA will look to pick either man up. Also today, we have learnt that the WWE extends there best wishes, and pink slips to Bruce Pritchard, Hornswoggle, WWE Raw Writer Michael Hayes, Candice Michelle, Ref Chad Patton, Steve Keirn and former Brooklyn Brawler - Steve Lombardi. As part of Stephanie McMahons new power, these firings are not of any suprise.

From PWTORCH.COM Thursday, Week 1 June 2007 WWE & TNA Releases PWTorch has just learnt from that WWE.COM is about to make an announcement on a groundbreaking third and final day of WWE Releases. We can exclusively reveal that WWE has come to terms with the releases of Kristal, Todd Grisham, Chris Kay, Mike Posey & more surprisingly WWE staple Ron Simmons and legend Roddy Piper. We also have information to believe that TNA are not interested in any currently released WWE Superstars, and I expect these releases to not change that policy that Shane McMahon is holding with TNA. Speaking of TNA, TNAWRESTLING.COM is reporting on the 4 releases of Johnny Devine, So Cal Val, Ricky Vega & Simon Diamond. TNA wished them the best in their future endeavours.

From PWTORCH.COM Thursday, Week 1 June 2007 TNA Impact Details, Foley, Lesnar, Goldberg, Hogan News Various news sources are reporting that Mick Foley is done with the WWE. WWE.COM is yet to confirm this. In an interesting note, Reports are suggesting that the trio of Hogan, Goldberg & Lesnar were all approached by TNA Chairman Shane McMahon this week about signing with the company, but in a twist, all 3 were asked to leave negotiations before they even began, McMahon was apparently citing reasons that the 3 megastars didn’t have TNA in their best interests. If you ask PW, we think Shane O’Mac has hit a big play there. We can also exclusively reveal that we expect TNA to announce a batch of superstar signings in the next few days to fill the holes that the releases have given….expect Shane McMahon type superstars, that’s a banker. Reports are suggesting that Scott D’Amore is pushing quite hard for a new project in TNA, and in particular, the tag team, The Naturals come into discussions frequently. TNA Impact last week peaked at 10.66 on Spike TV, this is a big improvement from previous weeks, and the pure fact of Shane McMahon alone would have caused this peak. The Official TNA Impact Preview was released today, TNA Impact – This Monday, From the Mellon Arena. Kurt Angle goes public in his Challenge to Bret Hart! Robert Roode vs Ron Killings Basham & Damaja vs A Mystery Team Bobby Heenan Debuts in TNA with a New Star vs Eric Young 6 Man Tag Team Match - Paparazzi Productions vs Voodoo Kin Mafia & Lance Hoyt X Division Title Match – Chris Sabin © vs AJ Styles Raven vs Rhino Samoa Joe vs Senshi vs Christopher Daniels The Steiners Reunite! From PWTORCH.COM Sunday, Week 1 June 2007 Rob Van Dam Signs The battle over Free Agent “Mr Monday Night” Rob Van Dam is over. The former WWE/ECW Alumni Champion has resigned with Vince McMahon & WWE after a very short hiatus. TNA Wrestling were extremely active in pursuing RVD but in the end he was made assurances by Vince McMahon over Character & Creative Control. Thus leading him to sign with the WWE once again. WWE expect him to redebut and now perhaps head up RAW, TNA on the other hand had hoped RVD & AJ Styles would have torn the house down, leading to perhaps RVD vs Sting, RVD vs Cage, RVD vs Joe. The 2 McMahon households will be very different today......

From PWTORCH.COM Monday, Week 2 June 2007 Huge Bret Hart News, Hero to WWE? TNA Backstage Signings. The big news this morning is that Bret Hart has released a very short statement, which basically pours cold water on the possibility of ever seeing him back on TV, let alone in a wrestling ring…let alone against Kurt Angle…..
Statement from Bret Hart Calgary, Alberta Canada Mon, Wk2 Jun 07 ‘Id like to thank all the kind words and thoughts from all my fans throughout the world, urging me and supporting me back to the ring against Kurt Angle. But at the end of the day, im retired, and if every time I was challenged to a “Best of the Best” match I accepted…id be wrestling 3 times a week! TNA is trying to pull a publicity stunt, and Angle will be onto his next “victim” this time next week. He’s obviously just a little bitter, but hell that’s not my problem! Till next time…. -The Hitman’
WWE has today signed future indy legend Chris Hero to a written deal. Some quarters are suggesting he will be plonked right onto TV on Smackdown, others are saying he will run the ring down at OVW for a while….Watch this space. TNA has today signed 2 More Staff. Michael Hayes, former WWE Raw Head Writer has shaken hands on a deal to be lead script man on Impact. Him & Shane McMahon have a tight trust, which could spell the end for Dutch Mantell…. Stay Tuned on this one. Also, jumping to TNA after his release is Michael Cole, the former Smackdown Announcer. Expect him to show up on Impact alongside Jeremy Borash as backstage announcers/interviewers.
