Slim Jim & The Shape Present World Wrestling Entertainment

Recommended Posts

Hello, and welcome to Slim Jim and I's rendition of WWE. We began booking this game after WWE's real life No Way Out PPV, and sought to improve the company on The Road To Wrestlemania. We've been running this diary on another board since March now, so to get things off on the right foot here, we'll begin with a recap of the first couple of months: First, a Wrestlemania preview, then Wrestlemania, then the Backlash preview, then Backlash, then the Judgement Day preview and finally Judgement Day itself. That'll bring everything up to speed, so if you want the full story, read the shows. Hope you enjoy them. Company Information Name: World Wrestling Entertainment [WWE] Size: Global Location: New England, USA Style: Sports Entertainment PPV Calendar & Card WWE New Year's Revolution: Sunday Week 1 January 2007 [RAW] WWE Royal Rumble: Sunday Week 4 January 2007 [Joint] WWE No Way Out: Sunday Week 3 February 2007 [Smackdown!] WWE WrestleMania: Sunday Week 4 March 2007 [Joint] WWE Backlash: Sunday Week 4 April 2007 [RAW] WWE Judgment Day: Sunday Week 2 May 2007 [Smackdown!] WWE Vengeance: Sunday Week 1 June 2007 [RAW] WWE Great American Bash: Sunday Week 3 July 2007 [Smackdown!] WWE Summerslam: Sunday Week 4 August 2007 [Joint] WWE Unforgiven: Sunday Week 3 September 2007 [RAW] WWE No Mercy: Sunday Week 2 October 2007 [Smackdown!] WWE Cyber Sunday: Sunday Week 1 November 2007 [RAW] WWE Survivor Series: Sunday Week 4 November 2007 [Joint] WWE Armageddon: Sunday Week 3 December 2007 [Smackdown!]

Since Chavo Guerrero won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship over a month ago at No Way Out he has had numerous challengers try and fail to dethrone him. However, that doesn’t tell the whole story, as each challenger has come up against some less-than-sportsmanlike behaviour. Last week on Smackdown the five challengers told Theodore Long they had reached boiling point and wanted the General Manager to give Chavo his comeuppance. Later on that same show Long did just that, as he announced a six-man pinfall battle royal for the Cruiserweight Title at Wrestlemania! Guerrero will be forced to put his title on the line against Daivari, Funaki, Jimmy Yang, Scotty 2 Hotty and Shannon Moore at the biggest pay per view of the WWE calendar; can he overcome the odds once again? Or will his throne by usurped by one of the many suitors after his title? When a passionate Ric Flair berated the young Carlito little over a month ago, the Puerto Rican underwent an almost instant change of perspective, and began to finally give his all in each match and show signs of fulfilling his tremendous potential. However, at times, even his best efforts weren't good enough to finish off his opponents, and when the legendary Flair was on a role and winning matches with finesse and ease, it all became too much for Carlito. After losing a Money in the Bank qualifying match to CM Punk, Carlito shared an embrace with Flair, only to raise his knee for a devastating low blow; laying out the Nature Boy. The next week, Flair captured the Intercontinental title from Jeff Hardy thanks to MNM, and when he defended it against Super Crazy the next week to prove himself a worthy champion, Carlito got involved, causing Flair to lose by disqualification, then demanding that he himself get a shot at the title at Wrestlemania! With the match now confirmed, can Carlito finally rid himself of his demons and pick up a monumental victory, or will Flair's experience and reputation as the dirtiest player in the game help him pull through and defend his prestigious championship? Despite beating Booker at No Way Out, Kane didn’t feel he had dished out enough punishment on the King and challenged him to a rematch but the injured King Booker refused to face the Big Red Machine. Eventually Theodore Long was able to trick Booker into accepting a match with The Undertaker, and since then the King has suffered two straight defeats. Heading into Wrestlemania, Kane certainly has a psychological advantage, but can he put it to good affect this Sunday? Or will King Booker somehow pull out a victory over the man he just can’t beat? In the culmination of a feud based on a simple lack of trust, Bobby Lashley will defend his ECW Heavyweight Title against The Human Suplex Machine and current colour commentator, Tazz. Weeks ago, when Lashley accidentally Speared Rob Van Dam whilst trying to help out the Originals in a brawl with the New Breed, Tazz was certain that the move was intentional, and as such infuriated by RVD's acceptance of Lashley's seemingly heartfelt apology. As the days went by, Tazz drifted further and further from his fellow Originals, but looked to have seen the light two weeks ago when he charged to the aid of the ECW Champion, only to lock in a Tazzmission and shake hands with the devil himself, Vince McMahon! With tremendous backing, Tazz has the momentum - but certainly not the crowd - on his side going into this match, where the ECW Title will be defended at Wrestlemania for the first time ever. But who will emerge victorious, and at what cost? This feud has raged on over both RAW and Smackdown! for quite some time now, stretching all the way back to 2006. The past month, however, has seen the intensity of this rivalry escalate, with the fierce competition between Mickie James and Melina only adding to the chaos. Not only that, but cracks have begun to show within MNM, adding yet another level to this ongoing grudge. The two teams have faced off for the past few weeks in various ways, but haven’t met in regular tag team action since the Royal Rumble. Things look set to explode when they clash at Wrestlemania but can MNM put their differences aside to pick up a victory? Or will The Hardys add another victory to their impressive tag team career? Since their debut, Deuce & Domino have been a thorn in the side of WWE Tag Team Champions, Kendrick & London, not to mention the bitterness between Cherry and Ashley. Deuce & Domino earned the right to challenge for the tag titles once again, this time at Wrestlemania! That sparked violent exchanges between the two teams over the course of several weeks, even going as far as Ashley Massaro being stripped topless on Smackdown last week! Kendrick & London have proudly held their belts for almost a year, but can they hold out for just six more weeks? Or will the arrogant throwbacks, Deuce & Domino, finally claim their first pieces of WWE gold? Ever since Donald Trump made an earth-shattering appearance on Monday Night Raw and showered the live audience with $100 bills, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has taken objection to the presence of another billionaire within his company. So when Trump proposed a titanic match-up for Wrestlemania 23, whereby both billionaires would choose a representative to face off and the losing competitor's billionaire would get their head shaved bald, Vince grabbed at the opportunity with open arms. Since then, the WWE fans and paparazzi alike have looked on in awe as the feud grew more and more intense by the week, with Vince choosing his own son Shane to fight in his corner, with the duo brutally assaulting Trump before confidently announcing that the Wrestlemania match would be No Holds Barred! This decision was then to backfire as Trump called upon the services of Hardcore Legend Mick Foley! With the two sides at loggerheads, Vince and Shane, with the help of their bodyguards; Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, have been able to get the better of Foley thus far, but with Mick hell bent on revenge for his firing several months ago, do he and Trump have what it takes to finally secure their revenge this Sunday night? Or will the McMahons find a way to reign supreme once again, and leave one of America's most popular billionaires bald as a result? In one of the most heated rivalries in recent memory, William Regal and Chris Benoit have certainly turned things up a notch on Smackdown. It all began with Regal winning a number one contender match for Benoit’s United States Championship. Later that same night, Regal brutally assaulted Benoit with brass knuckles, a sight that would become almost commonplace in the following weeks. As the days passed and the countdown to Wrestlemania began, Regal continued to use devious, underhand tactics to wear down his opponent before the granddaddy of ‘em all. On the final Smackdown before Wrestlemania Chris Benoit finally said that enough was enough and demanded Theodore Long do something. Long responded almost immediately by making their clash at Wrestlemania a Submission match! How will Regal fare knowing his only chance at winning United States title gold is by making WWE’s premiere technician tap out? And will Benoit finally be able to inflict as much pain on Regal as the Brit has inflicted on him with the rules tilted in his favour? For a long time now, The New Breed have been relentless in their attempt to rid ECW of its premier Originals; Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman and Sabu. At Wrestlemania, after months of violent brawls and hardcore battles, the eight men will finally collide under one roof in an environment where the Originals are most at home - the Extreme Rules match. With Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker and Kevin Thorn having won favour with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon in their efforts to dominate the brand, and turncoat original Tazz having aligned with the group last week due to his frustrations with the Originals' trust of Bobby Lashley, is there any way that the Originals can come out on top? Passion. Desire. Hunger. These are the words that come to mind when talking about the six participants of this year's Money in the Bank match, with each man desperate to retrieve the briefcase and earn a guaranteed shot at the title of their choosing any time; any place, anywhere. Having earned their stripes in a series of qualifying matches, RVD, Helms, Punk, Umaga and Kennedy traded insults and blows alike as they fought their way across all three brands, before standing back and awaiting their final opponent, who would be revealed in a Last Chance Battle Royal two weeks ago on Monday Night Raw. The world was shocked as Chris Jericho made his emphatic return and overcame The Great Khali and Vladimir Koslov at the end of a hellacious match, and confirmed his place at Wrestlemania 23. Since then, he's been at loggerheads with the other participants, with no single man able to prove his superiority over the others, and no alliance capable of lasting more than a week. In an every-man-for-himself environment that each of these superstars has proved himself capable of thriving in, who will it be to climb atop the ladder on the grandest stage of them all? For the first time in what seems like far too long, The Undertaker challenges for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania. His opponent? The Animal, Batista! There is no denying that Batista has been a dominant force since his arrival on Smackdown! but opponents don’t come bigger than The Deadman, who Batista, incidentally, has never beaten. Not only that but The Undertaker puts his fourteen-match Wrestlemania winning streak on the line by entering this match. Undertaker certainly has Batista cornered mentally but he’ll need to turn that into a top class performance at Wrestlemania. With Smackdown’s biggest prize at stake and his legacy to uphold, can The Undertaker overcome Batista? Or will The Animal prove just too much for The Phenom in possibly the biggest match of the champion’s career? Six weeks ago, Shawn Michaels overcame Randy Orton and Edge in a triple threat match to earn the right to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania, but Rated RKO weren't done there. They persistently taunted Cena and Michaels, before going on to defeat them for the World Tag Team Championships, and three weeks ago, it seemed that for one of Wrestlemania's main event participants, it had all become too much, when with the help of Edge, Shawn Michaels made Cena taste some serious Sweet Chin Music, costing him a main event match with rookie Kenny Dykstra in the process. The next week HBK and Edge seemed to be on the same page while Randy Orton pleaded for Cena's sympathies, saying that he too felt betrayed. Orton and Edge then squared off in a match whose winner would be added to the WWE title match between Cena and Michaels, only for Edge and Orton to align once again and decimate champion and challenger, before announcing that they'd already secured the addition of both of them to the Wrestlemania match up! On the final edition of Raw before the pay per view in a Pick Your Poison main event, Rated RKO once again deceived their opponents by picking each other, with Edge covering Cena's choice of Bobby Lashley to pick up the win and thus earn Randy Orton the right to choose the stipulation for the fatal four way match. A confident Edge brashly proclaiming the match to be his speciality - Tables, Ladders and Chairs - only for his supposed partner to nail an RKO and announce his own choice of a Last Man Standing match, standing tall as Raw came to a close! In order to walk out of Wrestlemania with gold around their waist, each man must keep all three of their opponents down for the ten count - who will it be who manages this tremendous feat, and to what lengths must they go to do so?

Sunday Week Four April 2007 WWE Backlash comes to you live from The Fleet Center in Boston, MA this Sunday, and is set to be huge as the fallout from Wrestlemania reaches its climax! In the opening bout of the night, New Breed members Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von take on ECW Originals Tommy Dreamer and Sandman. The bad blood between these four stepped up a notch one month ago at Wrestlemania when, thanks to a huge, shocking assist from Bobby Lashley, The New Breed defeated The Originals in a match that condemned the ECW brand to its death. But, with the legendary hardcore icon Terry Funk now at their side, Dreamer and Sandman are determined to ensure the legacy of Extreme lives on. Can the hardcore icons delight the fans by avenging their Wrestlemania defeat, or have Burke and Cor Von got their number? Ever since MNM broke up after a loss to The Hardys at Wrestlemania, former partners Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury have been at each other’s throats, determined to prove that they weren’t the weak link on the grandest stage of them all. With Nitro’s girlfriend, the WWE Women’s Champion Melina, having being caught in the crossfire thanks to the devious Mercury, this one is well and truly personal, with a great deal of pride on the line. The duo have wrestled together for years and know each other’s styles inside out so it’s sure to be a close one, but who will come out on top? When WWE Chairman Vince McMahon unveiled King Booker as Raw’s second draft pick, he had expected the former World Champion to wilfully join The New Breed, confirming the faction’s status as the dominant force on Raw. But things didn’t go as planned, with Booker delighting the fans and emphatically rejecting Vince’s offer – only to be attacked by the cold-hearted brute Bobby Lashley. With a match made between the two for Backlash, the odds were already stacked against Booker T, but when Vince proclaimed himself the Special Guest Referee for the match, the situation got even more serious. Can Booker find a way to put the two suckas in line, or is he destined to suffer the same fate as ECW, and be destroyed by Lashley? After Edge was drafted to Smackdown, General Manager Donald Trump took decisive action, vacating the WWE Tag Team Titles from the Rated R Superstar and his partner, Randy Orton, before unveiling an eight-team tournament that would crown new champions. With the likes of The Hardys and The World’s Greatest Tag Team already eliminated, the competition has come down to just two teams - Cryme Tyme and The Samoan Bulldozers; a new, deadly force unveiled two weeks ago by Armando Elejandro Estrada. Can JTG and Shad defeat the combination of Umaga and Rokuda to add some bling bling to their collection, or will the two raging Samoans do what their manager has promised and begin a reign of terror over Raw’s tag team division? A month ago at Wrestlemania, Chris Jericho looked set to top-off his glorious return to the WWE by becoming Mr. Money in the Bank. Enter Carlito. His motives unknown, the Puerto Rican who had earlier that night lost an Intercontinental Title match with Ric Flair stormed into the ring and threw Jericho off the ladder, costing him his chance at a guaranteed title shot. Ever since then, the duo have feuded bitterly week in week out, with Carlito recruiting the help of Kenny Dykstra to ensure Jericho’s comeback came to a premature end. What the dastardly duo didn’t count on was Ric Flair arriving on the scene to even the odds, but one week ago Kenny and Carlito defeated Y2J and the Nature Boy in tag team action in questionable circumstances. Now, at Backlash, Carlito takes on Jericho in what is sure to be an explosive contest, and Flair puts his championship on the line against Dykstra. Do the two youngsters have what it takes to overcome their rivals in singles competition, or will they leave with their pride and title belt intact? The re-united Hardys had looked destined to head to Backlash to challenge for the World Tag Team Championships, only to be eliminated by the devastating Samoan Bulldozers. As they recuperated following their loss, they were rudely interrupted by none other than Montel Vontavious Porter, who went on to reveal himself as Raw’s penultimate draft pick. His shameless taunting of Jeff and Matt provoked the two brothers, who eagerly accepted MVP’s offer of a tag team match against him and a partner of his choosing at the pay per view. But four days later on Smackdown, the Hardys reunion came to an end as Jeff became Smackdown’s final draft pick. With one Hardy out of the picture, will MVP do the right thing and face Matt one on one? Or does the most stylish man in Sports Entertainment have something else up his sleeve? Three weeks ago it appeared to be Edge who would challenge Shawn Michaels for his WWE Championship at Backlash, but all that changed when Vince McMahon moved the Rated R Superstar to Smackdown as part of the post-Wrestlemania draft. For the next two weeks, Randy Orton and John Cena battled it out for the title shot, with Orton eventually emerging victorious in a steel cage match to earn the number one contendership, thanks to a shocking assist from HBK, who was clearly keen on eliminating Cena from the title picture. With the former champ then moving to Smackdown, Orton showed little gratitude to Michaels for his help in the cage match, and the unbearable tension of last week’s contract signing boiled over when Orton nailed the champion with a clipboard, then delivered an earth-shattering RKO through the table. With Michaels no doubt still feeling the effects of the attack, does he have what it takes to fight through the pain and retain his title? Or will The Legend Killer deliver on his promise and become a two-time World Champion? Scheduled Matches: The New Breed vs. The Originals w/Terry Funk Johnny Nitro w/Melina vs. Joey Mercury Bobby Lashley vs. Booker T Special Referee - Vince McMahon WWE World Tag Team Championships The Samoan Bulldozers w/Armando Elejandro Estrada vs. Cryme Tyme Carlito vs. Chris Jericho WWE Intercontinental Championship Ric Flair © vs. Kenny Dykstra MVP & ??? vs. Matt Hardy WWE Heavyweight Championship Shawn Michaels © vs. Randy Orton

The number one contender casually strides to the ring and grabs a microphone, already preparing to celebrate his inevitable victory against Shawn Michaels in tonight’s main event. Orton: Tonight…tonight is about two things. Tonight is about the past…and the present. The past and the present. Shawn Michaels…and myself. You see, at Wrestlemania, what happened was an accident. A freak; a one in a million shot. A fluke. Shawn Michaels does not have what it takes to be WWE Champion, and nor does he have what it takes to beat me. I mean, don’t get me wrong – 10 years ago, HBK might have had a chance. The “Showstopper” of old, the icon, Mr. Pay Per View…that man could have at least put up a fight against the Legend Killer. But the problem is; the problem is that that man; that Shawn Michaels…that man died long ago. That man died when HBK broke his back, and now, in his place lies a shadow of his former self. A born-again Christian; a shell of the Shawn Michaels I grew up watching; a fragment of the man I used to idolise. And now, it’s my time to shine. My time to finally get back in the spotlight; get back to where I belong. Because tonight…The Legend Killer once again becomes WWE Champion. As his music plays, Orton taunts the crowd and raises his arms triumphantly, before heading backstage once more; no doubt in his mind over the result of his upcoming match.[ Rating: A* Segment 2: Backstage, Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von are seen walking down a corridor, looking incredibly focused as the announcers remind us that they are set to square off against Tommy Dreamer and Sandman in the opening bout of the night. The New Breed members quickly stop in their tracks as they see Shane McMahon approaching, still wearing the neck brace to protect the wounds given by Mick Foley at Wrestlemania. Shane sternly warns the two men not to let his father down, ordering that they put ECW out of its misery and end it here tonight. Burke and Cor Von reply with a nod, then continue on their path to the ring. Rating: B- The New Breed vs The Originals w/Terry Funk: The New Breed look incredibly serious as Dreamer and Sandman make their way to the ring, receiving a brief pep talk from Funk before getting things started. Dreamer and Burke square off in the early goings, exchanging various holds and wearing each other down, with Burke eventually gaining the upper hand with a headlock. He drags Dreamer over to his corner and tags in Cor Von, who beats the Original into the turnbuckle repeatedly and breaks just before the referee’s count reaches 5. The crowd begin to get behind Dreamer as Sandman and Funk urge him on, and eventually he breaks free and nails a huge DDT! Both Dreamer and The Alpha Male are out of it in the middle of the ring, crawling towards their partners, who they reach at the same time! Burke and Sandman charge into the ring and exchange blows, with Sandman coming out on top, prompting Burke to leave the ring and grab a steel chair! He tries to get back into the ring, but there’s Terry Funk, who slaps the taste right out of Burke’s mouth! The two begin to brawl as the referee tries to split them apart, whilst back in the ring, Burke nails the Elijah Experience on Sandman! But when he turns around, Dreamer’s there, and he lifts him up before hitting a Dreamer Driver! He throws Sandman on top of Burke and urges the referee to turn around! 1, 2, no! The referee is pulled out of the ring – it’s Shane McMahon! Shane smirks at Dreamer, only to be clotheslined by Terry Funk! The Funker lays into Shane O’Mac for all he’s worth, leaving Dreamer in the ring looking on, only for Cor Von to nail the Pounce! He throws Burke on top of Dreamer and the referee counts! 1, 2, 3! Rating: B Segment 3: Cor Von helps Burke to his feet and the duo celebrate, only to notice Funk still brawling with Shane outside the ring. In an instant the duo jump him from behind, laying him out and sending him flying into the steel steps head first, busting him open. They then help Shane to his feet and he nails a few cheap shots before raising The New Breed’s arms, standing tall above Funk much to the disgust of the crowd. Rating: C+ Segments 4 & 5: Melina and Johnny Nitro are seen together backstage in a locker room, prompting cheers from the crowd. The Women's Champion tells her boyfriend that she's off to get a drink, and kisses him before promising she'll be back soon. As she heads down the corridor, footsteps can be heard behind her. Tense, Melina turns around and scans the area, but nobody is anywhere to be seen. She takes several deep breaths, before slowly turning around and heading back towards the locker room. Nitro opens the door and, noticing that Melina is clearly flustered, he asks her what's wrong. In response, she simply wishes him luck in his match and shuts the door in his face, leaving Nitro left wondering what the hell just happened. Rating: A Rating: B- Joey Mercury vs Johnny Nitro: Without Melina by his side, Nitro seems off his game at the start of the match and Mercury gains the upper hand, keeping his former partner on the mat with a series of cleverly executed holds. Nitro soon finds his way back into the match, countering an attempted suplex into one of his own, then stomping a mudhole in Mercury before choking him out with the ropes, only just breaking before the referee's count reaches five. He then goes up top, stalks his opponent and leaps off with a diving cross body! Into the cover! 1, 2, no! Mercury gets a foot on the ropes! Nitro continues the assault until Mercury hits a thumb to the eye and gains momentum, hitting a Russian Leg sweep followed by a DDT for the near fall. He continues to dominate until he's distracted by the presence of Melina, rushing down the ramp! She jumps up onto the apron and tries to help her boyfriend as behind the referee's back, Nitro rolls Mercury up! But there's nobody there to make the count! Furious, Nitro gets up and confronts Melina, only to be rolled up from behind! The referee counts! 1, 2, no! Nitro kicks out! A worried Melina looks on as the two continue to brawl, with Mercury whipping Nitro into the ropes and tossing him over his shoulders with a back body drop, only for Nitro to land on his feet! Mercury turns around - Super Kick, right on the jaw! Nitro lines up his former partner and runs towards him, nailing a Standing Shooting Star Press! 1, 2, 3! Rating: A Segment 6: Nitro's arm is raised as his music plays but he's clearly not happy as Melina slides into the ring. He rejects his girlfriend's embrace and berates her for almost costing him the match, before storming off down the ramp. Rating: B+ Segments 7 & 8: After Melina has head backstage, the music of Vince McMahon hits and the Chairman of the Board makes his way to the ring, donning a tightly-fitting referee shirt. He is handed a microphone and proceeds to introduce his client and the inevitable victor in the upcoming match...Bobby Lashley! The powerhouse heads down the ramp, eyeing the crowd with utter malice and hatred as he slides into the ring and, to everybody's surprise, grabs a microphone of his own. He talks of his hatred towards Booker T, and how he's about to be taught a serious lesson in respect. Vince backs him up, before being interrupted by the sound of "CAN YOU DIG IT? SUCKA!" which gets the crowd on their feet as Booker heads to the ring, ready to get the match underway. Rating: B+ Rating: A Booker T vs Bobby Lashley: Special Referee: Vince McMahon The two exchange blows in the middle of the ring right away, until Vince pulls Booker to one side and reprimands him for over-zealous use of a closed fist. Booker laughs him off, but the distraction allows Lashley to nail him with a vicious clothesline, before stomping him repeatedly in the gut. The brute then heads to the corner of the ring and removes the protective covering from the turnbuckle, grabbing Booker and smashing his head repeatedly against the steel, just as Vince appears to get something in his eye, preventing him from seeing the move. His visual problem repairs itself as a bloody Booker comes back on the offence, nailing a huge kick on Lashley as Vince exits the ring and grabs a steel chair! The chairman slides back in and charges towards Booker, swinging the weapon like a madman, but Booker ducks out of the way! Vince turns back around and Booker kicks him in the gut, causing Vince to drop the chair bang in the middle of the ring! He rebounds against the ropes and comes back with a devastating Scissor Kick, crushing Vince's head against the steel! The crowd go wild as Booker looks at his hand, shaking his head - he's feeling it...Spinaroonie! He gets to his feet and raises his arms before turning around, right into a Spear from Lashley! He nailed it! Noticing McMahon down, Lashley frantically tries to revive the guest referee, but it's no use, so he lifts Booker up, going for a Dominator - but the Book man fights out of it! Lashley turns around - Book End, right in the middle of the ring! Booker looks at Vince and shakes his head but there, running down the ramp, is another referee! Jack Doan slides into the ring and counts - 1, 2, 3! Booker got it! Booker's music hits and the referee raises his arm, but outside the ring, a recovered Vince McMahon grabs a mike! Vince: Cut the music! I said cut his damn music! Stop right there, Booker T! Only I, the sanctioned referee for this match, can make the final decision! And my decision is that this match is not over! Referee, get your ass out of the ring! Doan reluctantly slides out of the ring and Vince approaches the apron, taunting Booker who leans over the ropes, only to get slapped right in the face! Vince's smirk broadens but quickly fades as Booker grabs him by the collar and chokes him out! But there, behind him, is Lashley, wielding the chair! He sprints towards Booker, and nails him on the back of the head, before dropping the chair to the floor and lifting his opponent up - DOMINATOR, right on the steel! Vince gets back into the ring and counts ridiculously fast, 1, 2, no! Booker gets a shoulder up! Furious, Lashley lifts him up and nails another Dominator on the steel chair, before covering once again! 1, 2, 3! It's over! Rating: A Segment 9: The crowd look on in sheer disbelief as a wounded Lashley gets to his feet, his arm being raised by Mr. McMahon, whose music plays loud and proud over the PA system as he wipes the blood off his forehead and taunts the unconscious Booker as EMTs attend to him to help him to his feet as the Chairman and his client leave the ring. Rating: B+ Segments 10 & 11: Backstage, Todd Grisham is seen with a microphone, ready to lift the crowd's spirits after what they just witnessed. Grisham: Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure at this time to introduce the man who tonight goes one on one with Randy Orton in the Backlash main event - he is the WWE Heavyweight Champion, The Heart Break Kid, Shawn Michaels! The fans go absolutely wild as the Showstopper steps onto the screen, but he looks the worst for wear, bearing numerous scars after the assault from Randy Orton last Monday. Grisham: Shawn, we are just less than two hours away from your first defence of the championship gold around your waist against one of the men you defeated last month at Wrestlemania. What're your - Michaels places his hand on the microphone, silencing Todd in an instant. He quietly ushers the interviewer off camera, leaving him in sole control of proceedings as he stares intently at the camera. Michaels: So here we are. Backlash. The night where the men who cemented their place in wrestling history one month ago at Wrestlemania will face their first true challenge; the first chance to see if they can stand the test of time. But for me, that's not an issue. See, for years now, I have stood the test of time. Month after month, week after week, I have stepped inside the squared circle and I have come out on top! I am and have always been The Icon, The Showstopper, The Main Event...but at Wrestlemania, I added another title to that list. A title that had been missing for far too long. I am now, once again...WWE Champion. He lifts the glistening golden title belt into view, earning a massive pop from the crowd. Michaels: This championship belt; this gold is proof that I am the best in the business. So to Randy Orton, and anyone else with the balls to doubt me, all I have to say is watch me out there in that ring tonight. Watch...and learn. Watch and learn as I kick The Legend Killer's ass up-and-down that ring! Watch and learn as I... His voice trails off as he stares off camera, and another figure steps onto the screen - Mr. Money in the Bank, Smackdown's own Ken Kennedy. The two men stare each other down as Kennedy raises his briefcase, speaking in quiet, menacing fashion. Kennedy: Any time...any place...anywhere. At this, Kennedy smirks and heads out of view, leaving Michaels on his own, looking much less confident than he did a few moments ago. Rating: A* Rating: B+ Segment 12: Back at ringside, the announcers ponder over the meaning behind Kennedy's words before discussing the upcoming match between Cryme Tyme and The Samoan Bulldozers for the vacant tag-team championships. Both men admit that while Umaga and Rokuda have gained a huge amount of momentum, JTG and Shad have been on a winning streak too as of late that shows they can cut it at the top. Rating: B+ Segment 13: Backstage, Shad is seen standing guard outside of a door labelled “Raw General Manager – Donald Trump”. A few seconds later, JTG emerges from the office, looking around to check nobody’s watching before pulling the two World Tag Team Title belts out of a bag! Shad congratulates him on this genius cryme and the duo head to the ring, looking as confident as ever. Rating: B The Samoan Bulldozers w/Armando Elejandro Estrada vs Cryme Tyme – WWE Tag Team Championships: The two Samoans enter first, baying for blood as their handler Estrada does his best to direct them to the ring. The duo psyche each other up with viscous blows to the chest before turning their attentions to the ramp, where Cryme Tyme soon appear, each with a Tag Team Title belt slung over their shoulder! The sight of the gold drives Umaga and Rokuda wild, and they storm out of the ring and charge down the ramp, going for simultaneous clotheslines, but JTG and Shad scout it and nail them in the head with the belts! Now in control before the match is even under way, Cryme Tyme drag the Bulldozers towards the ring to start things off, with JTG battling Rokuda in the early goings whilst the referee recovers the tag team titles. JTG wears the Samoan down further with a series of attacks on the head and neck, before whipping him into the ropes, only for Rokuda to come back with a huge lariat! Both men are down and out before slowly reaching towards their partners, but before JTG can tag in Shad, Umaga is there to drag him back to the centre of the ring! Umaga dominates JTG for several minutes, exchanging quick tags with Rokuda. The duo then lift a the groggy gangsta to his feet and go for a Double Samoan Spike, but JTG ducks and the two men nail each other! JTG rushes to his corner and leaps to tag in Shad! The crowd go wild as the big man cleans house, nailing a double clothesline then a back body drop on Rokuda. He turns his attentions to the legal man, Umaga, beating him down in the corner before hitting a huge DDT! He covers! But the referee is distracted by Estrada on the apron! Shad furiously gets to his feet and grabs the manager by the collar, and lifts him into the ring! He hits a Big Boot and raises his arms, only to turn around right into a Samoan Spike from Umaga! JTG is attacked by Rokuda as the referee counts – 1, 2, 3! The Bulldozers are the Tag Team Champions! Rating: B+ Segment 14: The crowd's spirits are instantly lifted as Maria is seen backstage, microphone in hand. Maria: Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure at this time to introduce the one, the only, Y2J, Chriiis Jeriiicho! Jericho steps into view to a massive pop, looking pleased that he got given Maria as an interviewer ahead of Todd Grisham. Maria: Chris, just one month ago at Wrestlemania you looked set to become Mr. Money in the Bank, until that nasty Carlito pushed you off the ladder and made you lose. Tonight, you get your chance for revenge. How does that make you feel? Jericho: How does that make me feel, Maria? It makes me feel great. Brilliant. Fantastic. Because finally, after a month of cheap shots, dirty tactics and Kenny Dykstra, I get my shot at Carlito the way it's meant to be. One on one, mano y mano! When he attacked me at Wrestlemania, I don't have a clue what was running through Afroman's mind, but frankly, I don't care. Because that's in the past, that...that's history. And after tonight, Puerto Rico's favourite assclown will be history as well. His career over, done, finished. His life changed; his back broken. After tonight, Maria, when all is said and done, Carlito will never… eeeeeeever …be the same…again! Jericho eyeballs the camera before turning and walking off, leaving Maria looking on in apparent awe as cameras head back to ringside. Rating: A* Segments 15 & 16: General Manager Donald Trump makes his way to the ring to a very positive ovation, soon procuring a microphone as he stands in the middle of the ring. Trump: First of all, it is my pleasure to announce that tonight's attendance is 18,629 - that's a WWE Backlash record! This earns a cheap pop from the crowd, and the GM swiftly continues. Trump: Now, on to more serious matters...Raw's final draft pick! My fifth and final selection is a man who is a legend in the making in this business. He is a former Royal Rumble winner, a former World Heavyweight Champion, and has main evented Wrestlemania on two separate occasions. Without any further ado, allow me to introduce...Batista! The crowd go wild with an incredibly mixed reaction as Batista powers his way down the ramp and sets off the usual spectacular pyros. He soon reaches the ring and smiles at Trump, who hands him a microphone. Batista: Wow... He smiles at he looks around at the audience, who continue with their mixture of enthusiastic cheers and angered boos. Batista: It sure is good to be...hell, who am I kidding? At this, Batista drops the microphone with a resounding thud, and lunges towards Trump, lifting up the GM and bringing him crashing down with a devastating Spinebuster! Seemingly proud of the unprovoked attack, Batista smirks and arrogantly heads back up the ramp, raising his arms before heading backstage; the crowd disgusted. Rating: A Rating: B+ Segment 17: A video plays hyping up the upcoming bout between Carlito and Chris Jericho, starting with the Puerto Rican's unexplained attack on Jericho during Wrestlemania's Money in the Bank match, and showcasing the various ups and downs of the feud. The crowd are ready for what is sure to be an awesome match. Rating: B+ Chris Jericho vs Carlito: It's clear from the outset that this is set to be a match of the year candidate. The match begins with some brilliant chain wrestling as neither man finds a hold or suplex that the other can't counter, but the devious Carlito eventually resorts to a thumb to the eye to gain the upper hand. He dominates for several minutes, using the dirtiest possible tactics to keep Jericho on the mat, before heading over to one corner and removing the padding from the turnbuckle to expose the solid steel. The referee reprimands him but Carlito shrugs it off and locks in a headlock on Y2J, who the crowd get behind for all they're worth. The Ayatollah is eventually able to fight to his knees, then elbow his opponent in the gut once, twice, thrice to break the hold! The momentum swinging his way, Jericho springs off the ropes wit a cross body, then hits a dropkick, and Carlito has had enough. He exits the ring and begins to walk down the ramp, but Jericho isn't done yet - he sprints down towards his opponent and drags him back towards the ring, only for Carlito to shove him right into the steel steps! He shouts "that's cool" before sliding in and out of the ring to break the referee's count, then stomps Jericho some more before throwing him back into the squared circle. He then arrogantly wastes time taunting and slowly climbs to the top rope, leaping off backwards with a moonsault! But Jericho gets his knees up! Carlito is nailed right in the gut, he's out of it! Y2J slowly drapes an arm across and the referee counts! One, two, thrNO! Carlito gets a foot on the ropes! Frustrated, Jericho gets to his feet and continues the assault as Carlito backs into a corner. Jericho sprints full pelt towards his nemesis, only for Carlito to evade the blow and send Jericho head first into the exposed steel on the turnbuckle! With the referee unaware of what just happened, Jericho begins bleeding profusely as Carlito rolls him up, using the tights for leverage! One...two...thrNO! Jericho somehow kicks out! He staggers to his feet and nails a flurry of knife edged chops, but Carlito nails a blow to the face to send Jericho reeling. The Puerto Rican then leaps up for a Hurricanrana, but Jericho stays on his feet and counters with the Walls of Jericho! Carlito screams in agony but he's too far away from the ropes to reach! In an act of desperation he twists onto his back and kicks Jericho away, causing him to rebound against the ropes as Carlito springs to his feet and sizes him up - Backcracker! One...two...three! Rating: A* Segment 18: Carlito celebrates above a battered, bloody Jericho, smirking arrogantly as he heads back down the ramp. But before he reaches the top, a loud "Wooo!" echoes around the arena and the music of Ric Flair hits! The Intercontinental Champion makes his way to the ring in preparation for his upcoming title defence, but stops dead half way down the ramp as he notices Carlito. The two men stare each other down, their rivalry still bitter, but Carlito's frown turns into an arrogant, self-satisfied smirk and he heads back up the ramp, leaving Flair shaking his head in disgust as he awaits his challenger. Rating: B Ric Flair © vs Kenny Dykstra – WWE Intercontinental Championship: The two men come nose to nose as the match begins and Dykstra openly taunts the veteran, yelling that he's "past it" before motioning that the belt belongs around his waist. In response, Flair slaps him and delivers an atomic drop before chopping the hell out of his chest in the corner of the ring, venting his frustrations in the best possible way. With Kenny's chest thoroughly reddened, Naitch backs away and soaks up the crowd's ovation before running back towards the blue chipper with a clothesline. He goes for a quick cover, forcing his forearm into Kenny's face as he does so, but gets the near fall. The Intercontinental Champ continues to dominate and earns several more near falls as he wears Dykstra down, then nails a textbook chop block before dragging him to the centre of the ring and going for the Figure Four Leglock! He twists around, only for Kenny to roll him up! 1, 2, no! Flair escapes the small package! The challenger now finds a foothold in the match, nailing a snap suplex and a neckbreaker in quick succession, before stamping on Flair's face in violent fashion, triggering a nosebleed almost instantly. Blood begins to redden Flair's crisp white hair as he fights back and the two trade blows in the middle of the ring. Kenny knocks Flair down then heads over to the corner of the ring, undoing the covering on the turnbuckle just as his pal Carlito did earlier in the night. The referee spots this and stops Dykstra in his tracks before fastening the covering back to the turnbuckle as behind his back, Kenny's taunts are interrupted by a devastating low blow! The champ rolls him up as the referee turns back around - 1, 2, 3! Rating: A* Segment 19: The Nature Boy’s music plays and the referee hands him his title belt much to the delight of the fans, who look on as Flair struts around the ring in celebration, tapping his head knowingly to indicate to Dykstra that he got outsmarted. Kenny storms off back up the ramp in a rage, leaving Flair alone to exit the ring and climb the barricade, heaving backstage via the delighted crowd. Rating: B+ Segments 20 & 21: As Flair exits amongst his people, the music of Matt Hardy hits and gets the fans to their feet once again. He heads to the ring looking purposeful and grabs a microphone, calling out MVP and demanding that because his brother Jeff has been drafted to Smackdown, their upcoming match be changed to one on one singles competition. Right on cue, “I’M COMING” blares out of the PA system and MVP heads out on to the stage, but quickly dismisses Hardy’s request. He says that a man of his stature needs protection, and in order for him to be as stylish and entertaining as possible in such a hostile environment, he needs an “insurance policy”. Hardy’s suspicions are confirmed as MVP announce that their upcoming match is going to be a handicap match, pitting Matt Hardy against MVP himself and his newly-hired bodyguard…Paul Burchill! In an instant, a large, suited man wearing tinted black shades stands next to MVP, his arms folded. Porter then drops the microphone with a smirk, and beckons the Burchill to follow him to the ring. Rating: B+ Rating: C Montel Vontavious Porter & Paul Burchill vs. Matt Hardy: Distracted by the looming presence of Burchill, Hardy is constantly wary as he and MVP duke it out and exchange various holds early on. After Matt gains the upper hand in several exchanges, an impatient MVP backs away and tags in his bodyguard, who is apparently prepared to wrestle in his tailor-made suit. Burchill decks Hardy with a clothesline and takes off his tie, before wrapping it around Matt’s neck and choking him out! He disposes of the unusual weapon on the referee’s count of four and goes back to work with more conventional offence, keeping Matt on the mat with nowhere to run, as outside the ring MVP looks on in delight. The domination continues as the crowd really get behind Hardy, and it eventually pays off as he nails a huge clothesline, taking the bodyguard off his feet! Burchill comes back for more, but Matt scouts it and nails a big clothesline! With the adrenaline pumping, Matt stalks his opponent as he get to his feet – Twist of FaNO! Burchill pushes him away, crushing him with a Big Boot as he rebounds from the ropes! With Hardy down, MVP calls for the tag and duly gets it, going for the quick cover! 1, 2, no! Matt gets a foot on the ropes! Furious, MVP berates the referee, only to be rolled up from behind! 1, 2, kickout! Hardy gets to his feet and nails a quick snap suplex, before going up top! He roars to the crowd and leaps off with a leg drop, but MVP slides out of the way! Hardy crashes and burns! Porter tags in Burchill, who waits for Hardy to get to his feet, then hits a devastating flipping-Rock-Bottom-like move that JR calls the C4! Hardy is out of it! 1, 2, 3! Rating: B- Segment 22: MVP congratulates his bodyguard and taunts Hardy as EMTs come to his aid. JR and King look on in disbelief before moving on to the subject of the next match – the main event! JR says that Michaels is on top of his game right now and backs him to defend his title, whilst Lawler seems certain Orton has something up his sleeve. At this, a video package plays showcasing how this bitter feud has progressed, beginning with Michaels winning the title at Wrestlemania, moving on to the steel cage match in which Orton defeated Cena for the number one contendership thanks in part to HBK, and finishing off with The Legend Killer standing tall after a devastating top-rope RKO through the contract signing table last week on Raw. Rating: B+ Rating: B+ Shawn Michaels © vs Randy Orton – WWE Heavyweight Championship: The challenger comes out first to a great deal of heel heat, arrogantly strutting down the ramp and posing on the turnbuckles when he reaches the ring before stretching on the ropes, awaiting the champion. After a few moments of tense silence, HBK’s music hits to a show-stopping ovation, and the fans go wild as he heads down the ramp, posing with the title belt wrapped firmly around his waist as he sets off the stunning pyros on the entrance ramp. He slides into the ring, his eyes not once leaving Orton’s gaze as Lillian Garcia introduces the two men, and the referee rings the bell. The two go nose to nose, talking trash in the centre of the ring and locking up. Orton tries a headlock, but Michaels quickly spins around and scores a hammerlock, only for Orton to whip him into the ropes and nail a huge clothesline on the rebound. The youngster raises his arms and basks in the hatred from the crowd before going back to work, slapping the champ on the head as he lifts him to his feet and methodically punches him in the gut several times. Eventually, Michaels fights back with some rights of his own, then backs Orton into the corner and nails a series of knife edge chops, causing The Legend Killer to slide out of the ring to recuperate. He doesn’t get much rest however, as the champion comes flying to the outside as he dives through the ropes like a madman, sacrificing himself to take out his opponent! Both men lay down for a few seconds, then Michaels springs to his feet! The crowd go wild as he stalks Orton and tunes up the band! Orton gets to his feet and turns around, but ducks quickly enough to avoid hearing Sweet Chin Music! HBK’s momentum carries him towards the ring post, which he crashes into, leg first! Orton seizes the opportunity and prevents Michaels from moving, grabbing hold of his leg and jarring it around the turnbuckle several times, looking to remove the champ’s deadliest move from his arsenal. He slides in then back out of the ring to break the referee’s count at six, then with the Showstopper off balance and defenceless, he slaps Michaels round the face, before delivering an RKO onto the solid floor! The champion’s body remains horribly contorted as his body lays motionless on the floor whilst his leg is still stuck between the turnbuckle and the ring. Realising he can’t win the match this way, Orton detaches HBK’s leg and rolls him into the ring, before making the cover – 1, 2, no! Michaels gets a shoulder up! Orton covers again, and gets another near fall! Growing frustrated, he lifts HBK up and whips him towards the ropes, only for the champ to come back with a flying forearm! He then springs to his feet, but his leg gives way and he crumples to the floor once again! Seeing an opportunity, Orton heads towards Michaels with a devilish smirk then grabs him by the injured leg, before twisting it round and locking in a Texas Cloverleaf! Michaels screams in agony for over a minute but somehow, with the crowd behind him, finds a way to the ropes! Orton refuses to let go of the hold, and the referee begins the five-count, with Orton finally breaking on 4. He then gets to his feet and furiously stomps a mudhole in HBK before waiting for him to get up, which he slowly does, using the ropes. Michaels then precariously turns around, right into an RK-NO! Michaels pushes Orton away! The Legend Killer rebounds from the ropes and charges towards his nemesis, but Michaels scouts it and nails an RKO of his own! He collapses on top of the challenger as the referee counts – 1, 2, 3! Rating: A* Segment 23: The crowd roar in appreciation as the referee fetches the title belt and hands it to Michaels, who raises his arms in celebration and possessively clutches the championship gold. He slowly but surely exits the ring with the help of several officials, soaking up each and every moment in the spotlight. In the ring, Orton steadily recovers and crawls towards the ropes, pointing at Michaels and staring in a blind rage, yelling threats and obscenities which are barely audible amidst the crowd’s delight. As Backlash comes to a close, Shawn Michaels is still standing…but only just. Rating: A* Quick Results: The New Breed over The Originals in 7:55 Johnny Nitro over Joey Mercury in 9:43 Bobby Lashley over Booker T in 13:55 The Samoan Bulldozers over Cryme Tyme in 11:12 to win the WWE World Tag Team Championships Carlito over Chris Jericho in 15:05 Ric Flair over Kenny Dykstra in 11:45 to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship Paul Burchill and MVP over Matt Hardy in 8:23 Shawn Michaels over Randy Orton in 14:52 to retain the WWE Heavyweight Championship Overall Show Rating: A*

Sunday May Week 2 2007 WWE Smackdown's first pay per view since Wrestlemania looks set to be a historic night, as not only are all four championships on the line, there is also a match to determine the Money In The Bank holder but possibly bigger than all of that, in the very first match of the evening the Smackdown General Manager position will be decided! Two candidates, Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman, have built up their teams of three to fight on their behalf with the winner being declared the new head honcho of the Smackdown brand. Bischoff turned to ex-WCW superstars Finlay and Kevin Nash, as well as Nash's new client Vladimir Koslov to fight for him, an impressive trio to say the least. Heyman called on his former ECW extremists Rob Van Dam and Sabu, and also modern day extremist CM Punk, an equally formidable team. Both teams have a blend of youth and experience, as well as a mixture of styles, and with so much on the line this match is sure to be explosive! Not only is the GM position up for grabs, but on a more personal level Bischoff and Heyman are fighting to see who truly is the second best wrestling promoter of all time - behind Vincent Kennedy McMahon - who will come out on top? And more importantly, will the losing team still have their jobs on Smackdown when the dust settles? When Big Show and Kane became the Number One Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships, no one gave Brian Kendrick and Paul London a hope in hell of retaining the belts come Judgment Day but the long-time tag champions have raised their game and proved that size isn't everything. Using their pace and innovation, as well as some good fortune, they have been able to hold their own thus far but can they transfer that into pay per view success? Or will their record-breaking title reign finally be brought to an end? Six weeks ago at Wrestlemania, Ken Kennedy beat five other men to become Mister Money In The Bank and earn a guaranteed title shot whenever he wants but after John Cena and Jeff Hardy jumped ship from RAW he found himself with challengers for his briefcase. The former RAW superstars claimed that had they been in the match, they would have won instead of Kennedy. Ever arrogant, Kennedy agreed to put his title shot on the line in a triple threat match but will that decision be proven foolish at Judgment Day? Can the former WWE Champion John Cena or The Charismatic Enigma Jeff Hardy take that shot from him? Or will Kennedy prove once again that he is the only Mr. Money In The Bank? Way back at the start of March Chris Benoit and William Regal started what was to become one of the most heated feuds in the past few years when Regal became the Number One Contender for Benoit's United States Championship. At Wrestlemania Benoit somehow pulled out a victory but the following week on Smackdown had his title snatched from him by Vince McMahon, leading to a Best Of Seven series to crown an undisputed United States Champion that has seen both men fight tooth and nail, each taking three victories. At Judgment Day they collide in an Ironman match to find out who truly deserves the belt, but will it be the Canadian or the Englishman that comes out holding the US belt? In recent weeks there has been an upsurge in the cruiserweight division, with ten men battling for prominence. This Sunday they all collide, and potentially more will join them, as they enter the Cruiserweight Invitational. With four former champions, as well as current champion Jimmy Yang, there is certainly championship pedigree among the entrants but who will be left standing when it's all said and done? Will six-time Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero? The Boss Spike Dudley? Or will Jimmy Yang be able to overcome all odds and retain against nine other men? In the Main Event two of World Wrestling Entertainment's most decorated stars collide. With thirty-two championship reigns between them, in both singles and tag competition, Undertaker and Edge definitely have the experience to carry Smackdown on their shoulders. Since Edge shocked the world by jumping ship despite being RAW's Number One Contender, he has been both a thorn in Undertaker's side and his tag team partner. Smackdown has been filled with betrayal, insults and vicious attacks and that's exactly what fans will be hoping for at Judgment Day but will it be Edge or The Undertaker that comes out with the prestigious title? The Deadman has been undefeated since No Way Out, but can he keep this winning streak going? Or will Edge, undefeated since Wrestlemania, find a way to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time? For the answers to all these questions, and much, much more contact your pay per view service provider and join Joey Styles and John "Bradshaw" Layfield live at 9PM this Sunday! Scheduled Matches: WWE Smackdown General Manager Team Bischoff: Finlay, Kevin Nash & Vladimir Koslov vs. Team Heyman: CM Punk, Rob Van Dam & Sabu No Disqualifications WWE Tag Team Championships Brian Kendrick & Paul London © vs. Big Show & Kane WWE Money In The Bank Ken Kennedy © vs. Jeff Hardy vs. John Cena WWE United States Championship Chris Benoit vs. William Regal Ironman WWE Cruiserweight Championship Jimmy Yang © vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Daivari vs. Grandmaster Sexay vs. Guido vs. Jamie Noble vs. Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Shannon Moore vs. Spike Dudley vs. Super Crazy Cruiserweight Invitational WWE World Heavyweight Championship The Undertaker © vs. Edge

After the opening pyrotechnics and Judgment Day’s theme music, we cut across the announcers, Joey Styles and John “Bradshaw” Layfield, at ringside. Styles: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to WWE Judgment Day brought to you by Smackdown! I’m Joey Styles alongside John “Bradshaw” Layfield and, folks, we have one hell of a night ahead of us. JBL: You’re not wrong there, Joey. Four titles and the Money In The Bank title shot are all on the line. Styles: Not forgetting our new boss being decided. JBL: I don’t care who wins, Joey, I won’t answer to Bischoff or Heyman; they both ran their own companies into the ground, why the hell should I take orders from them? I picked the right side, unlike you. Styles: ECW was like nothing else before or since. Paul just tried TOO hard and in the end, we couldn’t stay afloat. It was alright for WWE, Vinnie Mac has bottomless pockets. JBL: Vince McMahon is a god, Joey, and a self-made billionaire. Look at tonight’s Main Event, two stars created by Vince McMahon colliding in one of the most hotly anticipated matches this side of The Rock versus Stone Cold. Styles: I can’t deny that, John, let’s take a look at the bitter feud that has encompassed those two since Edge’s shocking jump to Smackdown. Segment One: A video plays on the Titantron, starting with Edge’s surprise jump to Smackdown, destroying Eugene in his first match. It continues with Edge becoming the number one contender by beating Batista, before moving onto the action involving Edge and Undertaker. Their three tag team victories are shown, as well as the many out-of-match segments, including Undertaker’s attack after Cutting Edge two nights earlier on Smackdown. As the video draws to a close the cameras cut backstage to the car park, where a limousine has just pulled up. The driver opens the door and out steps Edge! Still wearing his street clothes and with a bag slung over his shoulder, he heads into the arena. As he does, Kristal rushes up to him with a microphone. Kristal: Edge! How are you feeling? Edge: How am I feeling? How do you think I’m feeling? Tonight I finally become the World Heavyweight Champion; I feel fantastic. Kristal: Do you really think you can beat The Undertaker? He hasn’t been beaten since Batista left him to face Shawn Michaels and John Cena alone at No Way Out. Edge: Are you saying you think Shawn Michaels and John Cena are better than me? If those two chumps can beat The Undertaker, then it’ll be no sweat for the Rated R Superstar. If I hadn’t left RAW, I’d be the WWE Champion right now. Kristal: Why did you leave RAW? Surely the chance to be WWE Champion was exciting for you? Edge: Been there, won that. I’d rather be a big fish in a big pond, rather than a big fish in a small pond, y’know? Smackdown is the big league now, and tonight I take my rightful place as the top superstar in this company. Now, if you excuse me, I have a victory celebration to prepare for. Edge brushes past Kristal and heads off in search of his locker room, leaving Kristal to hand back over to Styles and JBL. Rating: A Segment Two: As we return to ringside “I’m Back!” hits and Eric Bischoff comes out from the back, with his three representatives in tow. Finlay and Nash flank Bischoff, but Koslov hangs back, not looking totally pleased. The four men enter the ring and Bischoff takes a microphone. Bischoff: Tonight is a huge night, not only for me but also for Smackdown as a whole. It’s no secret that Teddy Long ran this brand into the ground and when I officially become the General Manager tonight, there will be changes made, starting with a roster clearout. I’m sure you’ll all agree that no one wants to see these so-called “extremists” running a-mock and ruining the show [HEAT] So when I take power, my first act will be to FIRE Rob Van Dam, CM Punk, Sabu and Paul Heyman! [HUGE HEAT] Bischoff grins like the cat that got the cream but it’s soon wiped from his face when “Let The Bodies Hit The Floor” blares through the speakers and Punk, RVD and Sabu rush down to the ring with Heyman following slowly behind. Rating: A Smackdown General Manager Team Bischoff: Finlay, Kevin Nash and Vladimir Koslov vs. Team Heyman: CM Punk, Rob Van Dam and Sabu No Disqualifications The extremists are straight on the offence, slugging it out with their larger opponents. Punk and Koslov spill to the outside, leaving Sabu brawling with Finlay and RVD taking it to Nash with quick kicks. Punk batters Koslov with vicious strikes but the big man battles back, launching Punk against the apron, before throwing him with force into the steel steps! In the ring Finlay reverses Sabu, and drops him to the canvas with a DDT. Van Dam also fails to keep the advantage, as Nash levels him with a huge clothesline. Nash starts choking RVD in the corner, and the referee can do nothing about it, but Sabu can, as he whips Finlay into Nash! Outside Koslov is still in control of Punk, and displaying his technical abilities with various suplexes. With aggression fuelling his offense, Koslov pulls up the protective mat from ringside, and slams Punk onto the exposed concrete! Punk writhes in pain, but Koslov continues to pound away at him with strong right hands. Seeing their partner firmly on the back foot, RVD and Sabu both launch themselves over the top rope onto Koslov! Soon Nash and Finlay follow to the outside. Kevin Nash drags Punk around the ring, but he fights free and heads towards the announce table. As Nash approaches Punk grabs a the ring announcer’s chair and cracks it across Nash’s skull! Back in the ring, and with a steel chair in hand, Van Dam slams the weapon into Koslov’s gut before throwing the chair at him and nailing a Van Daminator! Chairs appear to be the weapon of choice, as Sabu is also wielding one in his offense against Finlay. With Finlay slumped against the steel steps, Sabu sets the chair up in front of him. He takes a run up, springboards off the chair and dropkicks Finlay’s head against the steps! Heyman watches in delight, but suddenly there is commotion in the crowd. The camera pans round the arena, trying to locate the disturbance before finally seeing two large figures pushing through the fans – it’s Hulk Hogan and Scott Hall! What the hell?! They jump the barricade and Punk is the first man they come to, with Hogan booting a steel chair into the Punker’s face! Sabu races round the ring, but gets dropped with an Outsider’s Edge by Scott Hall! Hogan, Hall and Nash climb into the ring, where Rob Van Dam is trying to decide what the hell he’s going to do. It’s Nash that grabs him first, but RVD valiantly battles free, but the numbers overwhelm him and Nash is able to nail a devastating Jackknife! With Hogan, Hall and Bischoff looking on in delight, Nash covers Van Dam for a reluctant three count. Rating: B+ Segment Three: As the ring announcer declares Eric Bischoff the new Smackdown General Manager and Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Vladimir Koslov and Eric Bischoff celebrate in the ring [forgetting their partner Finlay lying unconscious at ringside] Paul Heyman frantically shouts into the crowd, what is he up to? Soon it becomes clear as yet more invaders appear through the crowd – it’s Rhino and Tajiri! Together with Punk and Sabu, they grab chairs, the ring bell, canes, anything lying about under the ring and slide into the ring behind the quintet. As RVD recovers, the five extremists lay into their enemies with savage weapon shots, and soon a six-on-five brawl ensues, with Heyman and Bischoff scrapping on the outside. Amidst all the chaos, two familiar words ring through the arena…“NO CHANCE!” The crowd instantly start to jeer as the WWE Chairman comes out onto the stage, microphone in hand. McMahon: Stop it! All of you! Bischoff, Heyman, who the hell do you think you are? You think you can invite these hired guns into MY arena? Onto MY pay per view?! I run this company, damn it! And, damn it, as chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment, I am officially declaring the result of that match null and void! [HEAT] As far as I’m concerned, it never happened! [HEAT] Neither of you are the Smackdown General Manager! Now both in the ring, Bischoff and Heyman furiously shout abuse at Vince, saying he can’t do this and calling him various names too explicit for me to write here. McMahon: I can do whatever the hell I want because I’m Vincent Kennedy McMahon. I can buy and sell both of you and all of your little helpers [HEAT] But Smackdown does need a General Manager and I’m reasonable man, so here’s what I’m going to do. In nine weeks time at Smackdown’s next pay per view, the Great American Bash, there will be another match to determine Smackdown’s General Manager. Representing Paul Heyman will be Sabu, Tajiri, Rhino, Rob Van Dam and CM Punk [POP]…and representing Eric Bischoff will be Finlay, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Vladimir Koslov and Hulk Hogan! [HUGE HEAT] Heyman and Bischoff are still not appeased, and it looks like the two sides are about to erupt into another brawl but Vince has more to say; much more. McMahon: I was going to save this next announcement for RAW tomorrow night but damn it, I’m live on pay per view. Your two teams will have the chance to meet for a warm-up match before Great American Bash, in fact one of the ten men down at ringside right now may even earn a World Heavyweight title shot. After consultation with my son, Shane, we…I have decided that two thousand seven will see the return of King Of The Ring as a pay per view. [POP] Each brand will put forward eight entrants, with the final four combatants entering the semi-finals in six weeks time at King Of The Ring and a new King being crowned later that same evening. Now get the hell out of my ring, and, Bischoff, take that Irish corpse with you. “No Chance” hits again and Vince returns to the back, leaving everyone stunned after a chaotic start to the night. Hogan, Hall, Rhino, Tajiri and King Of The Ring are all back? Madness! And what did Vince mean when he said they’ll have a warm up match before Great American Bash? I guess we’ll have to wait until Smackdown to find out. Rating: A Segment Four: Phew, after all that action I need a rest but there’s no time for that now as we cut backstage where John Cena is with Kristal. Kristal: John, tonight you face off against two men with a chance to earn a title shot which you can cash in whenever you want, are you at all nervous? Cena: Kristal, I don’t get nervous. It doesn’t matter to me who I face, whether it’s Ken Kennedy, Jeff Hardy, Hulk Hogan or Doink The Clown, the outcome will ALWAYS be the same; me standing victorious in the ring. Kristal: Aren’t you in the least bit worried about this match? You don’t even need to be involved in the decision, surely that makes this match harder? Cena: Nah, Kristal, you don’t understand. For either of those other chumps to win they still need to keep me down for at least a three count. You think I’m just gonna stand there while they pin each other? Kristal: Well no, but… Cena: All that matters is that my chaingang are in my corner and I ain’t ever been beaten with them behind me, so Kennedy, Hardy…hell…Edge, Taker, let me make it real simple for you. You want some? Cena pauses as the crowd scream “come get some!” Cena: Come get some! Cena walks offscreen as the camera cuts to the next segment. Rating: A* Segment Five: Elsewhere backstage, Jeff Hardy has just returned to his locker room. He crosses the room, where he finds a post-it note stuck to his bag. Intrigued, he reads it as the camera zooms in on it. It simply says “MISTAAAH KENNEDY!” Perturbed, and suspicious of an attack, Jeff spins round and sees another note on the back of the door. The camera zooms in once again to reveal its message, “KENNEDY!” Still wary of a sneak attack, Jeff rips up both notes and leaves the locker room. Rating: B+ Segment Six: Judgment Day cuts to video package highlighting the recent events between Brian Kendrick & Paul London and Big Show & Kane, and the WWE Tag Team Champions struggle to deal with their supersized opponents. The closing image is from Smackdown two days ago, where Big Show and Kane sat up after a supposedly savage beating with steel chairs and the look of horror on the face of the champions. Rating: B+ WWE Tag Team Championships Brian Kendrick & Paul London © vs. Big Show & Kane The challengers enter first but before they can get down to the ring, Kendrick and London attack them from behind, smacking both men with their title belts! Having taken an early advantage, the champions are keen to get into the ring. Kendrick starts out with Kane, and his pace allows him to dart in for quick kicks. As Kane grows increasingly angered, Kendrick becomes too ****y and gets too close to the monster. Instantly Kane ceases the opportunity with both hands…round the neck of Kendrick! He launches the cruiserweight across the ring, slamming him hard against the turnbuckle before unloading with a barrage of punches, before choking Kendrick. The referee forces him to break the hold, and Kane tags out to Big Show. Together they whip Kendrick against the ropes and go for a double flapjack but Kendrick reverses into a double DDT! All three men go down and London is hopping on the apron, desperate for a tag. Slowly Kendrick crawls towards his partner but Big Show grabs his ankle! Enziguri! Big Show staggers and falls back to the canvas and Kendrick makes the tag! London speeds into the match with a series of dropsaults to both giants, getting the crowd firmly behind him. Using all his strength, he takes Big Show to the corner and attempts a top rope DDT but Show reverses and slams London to the mat. With the momentum firmly shifted, Big Show starts to dominate, slamming London repeatedly and dropping huge leg drops across his throat. Kendrick is furiously jumping up and down, eager to get back into the action. Arrogantly, Big Show holds London’s hand towards Kendrick just out of reach, but suddenly London gets a surge of life! He rolls free and dropkicks Show in the back of the leg, taking him to one knee. London rushes forward and nails a leaping facebuster, before scoring the tag. Kendrick is in with a flash, and immediately heads to the top rope. Big Show slowly staggers to his feet, and Kendrick nails a top rope hurricanrana! Paul London gets another adrenaline surge, as Kendrick returns to the top rope, and dropkicks Kane off the apron before leaping onto him with suicide dive! In the ring, Kendrick lines Big Show up…450° Splash! The cover, one…two…three! Rating: B Segment Seven: The referee hands the champions their title belts, and they celebrate excitedly in the ring, with the crowd cheering wildly. It doesn’t last though, as Big Show and Kane attack them from behind! The fans jeer with disgust as the monsters capitalise on their cheapshot by throwing Kendrick and London over the top rope and down to the floor below. Not content, they continue their assault, each picking one of the cruiserweights. They signal together, before Big Show clasps a hand round Kendrick’s throat and Kane round London’s; simultaneously they lift the tag team champions and slam them down hard with vicious Chokeslams! Rating: B+ Segment Eight: Backstage Gregory Helms is returning to his locker room. He finds the door slightly ajar, and cautiously enters. Directly opposite, his old Hurricane attire is lying on a bench. Slowly Helms approaches it, still suspicious. Behind him The Tornado whooshes out of the locker room, with the noise being enough for Helms to spin round in time to see the flash of blue disappear down the hall. With Helms confused and angry, we cut to another video package. Rating: B+ Segment Nine: This time we see highlights from the recent feud between Ken Kennedy, Jeff Hardy and John Cena. It shows the debut of the two former RAW superstars, as well as the various matches involving the trio including their two most recent exchanges, that saw Kennedy laying both opponents out with his briefcase nine days ago, before they got their revenge on the last Smackdown in a handicap match. It ends with the back and forth promo between Cena and Hardy, as Kennedy lay in the centre of the ring. Rating: B+ Money In The Bank Title Shot Ken Kennedy © vs. Jeff Hardy vs. John Cena The two challengers immediately team up to take down Kennedy, unloading on him with rights and lefts and beating him down to the canvas. Cena continues the attack with elbow drops, while Hardy stomps Kennedy's legs. Together Jeff and Cena launch Kennedy over the top rope, before turning on each other. Cena takes the advantage, using his power to control Jeff and lock in a headlock. Cena wrenches away at Hardy, causing him to fade. As the strength seeps from Jeff's body the referee checks his consciousness. His arm drops once. It drops twice. It drops...Kennedy breaks the hold. Hardy rolls from the ring to catch his breath, as Kennedy nails Cena with a DDT. Kennedy keeps on top of Cena with a series of suplexes, not giving him a chance to fight back. Kennedy sends Cena against the ropes and bends forward, ready for a back drop, but gets caught with a stiff kick to the chest and a spinning powerslam. Cena tells Kennedy "you can't see me" before bouncing off the ropes and hitting a five knuckle shuffle. The crowd pop and John Cena turns round to the fans, thinking it was for him, only to get taken down with a missile dropkick from Jeff Hardy! Jeff can sense the end is near, and stalks Cena. As he returns to his feet, Hardy hooks Cena round the neck! Twist Of Fate! Jeff jumps to the top rope and taunts but Kennedy springs against the ropes, crotching Hardy on the turnbuckle! Returning to his feet, Kennedy shoves Jeff to the outside; he crashes down hard! Arrogantly, Kennedy turns back to the centre of the ring but immediately gets lifted by John Cena! He's going for the FU! NO! Kennedy rolls down Cena's back! Kennedy lifts Cena onto his back and nails a Green Bay Meatpacker! Kennedy makes the cover, one...two...three! Rating: A* Segment Ten: As a disappointed and hurt Jeff Hardy returns slowly to the back, Ken Kennedy calls for his microphone to be lowered. It slowly comes down from the rafters and he snatches it. Kennedy: Here is your winner and STILL Mister Money In The Bank...MISTAAAAH KENNEDY! Kennedy walks to the turnbuckle and climbs onto the second rope. Kennedy: KEN... John Cena hits Kennedy from behind! Kennedy falls back into the ring and the lights come back up, but Cena's advantage is lost quickly as Kennedy nails a low blow! He grabs the microphone and smacks it against Cena's forehead, busting him open! Kennedy wipes the blood off the microphone before returning to the middle rope but he spots Cena still moving and instead leaves the ring to grab his Money In The Bank briefcase. Kennedy slides back into the ring and stalks Cena, who groggily gets back to his feet before being floored with a crunching blow from the steel briefcase! Cena crumples to the canvas, with blood pumping from his forehead. The announcers are shocked and Styles desperately calls for some paramedics, who rush from the back. Kennedy isn't fazed, as he grabs the microphone again and climbs to the middle rope. Kennedy: KENNEDY! The crowd are irate at Kennedy's seemingly inhumane attitude towards John Cena, who is being strapped to a stretcher as Kennedy celebrates. Ignoring the jeers from the crowd, a victorious Kennedy grabs his briefcase and heads back up the ramp, grinning as he passes Cena on the stretcher. Rating: B+ Segment Eleven: Backstage an irate Vladimir Koslov is hurling abuse at his manager, Kevin Nash about what happened earlier in the evening. Koslov: I am not needing help from, how you say, "the bigger boys". Why is this Hogan and Hall getting involved? Nash: They were our insurance policy. Those hardcore-loving freaks had the upperhand and those guys swung it back our way. Koslov: I am not agreeing. It is because of them that we not win. It is their fault so why must we take orders from Bischov and Hogan? I don't need help from this old man, I can beat all Smackdown myself. Nash: Then I guess you don't need me. Nash takes a step towards his young client just as Bischoff comes into the room. He has just left his locker room, with bandages round his injured ribs, and is finishing the tape on his wrists as he heads towards the entrance to the arena. With neither man being able to take control, they break away before locking up again. This time Regal knees Benoit in the ribs and takes control. Regal slips behind and hits a back suplex, before stomping away at Benoit's taped midsection, working his injured ribs. Regal grabs Benoit's chin, and wrenches his head back whilst keeping pressure applied to the back of Benoit's ribs with his knee. Benoit struggles and fights but eventually the crowd's cheers give him the rush of strength he needs to get back to his feet. He elbows Regal away before pushing him against the ropes and taking him down with a clothesline. Benoit nails three more clothesline, before hitting three snap suplexes and forcing Regal into the corner. He stings Regal's chest with knife edge chops, turning it red almost instantly. As Benoit's anger continues to fuel is offense, he begins choking Regal but has to break the hold. Benoit drags Regal from the corner and nails a spiked DDT, before mounting Regal for some brutal right hands. Even when Regal is busted open, Benoit keeps striking him with savage blows, deepening his cut. The referee pulls Benoit away, to check if Regal is still conscious, which he is...barely. Between stalks William Regal, who slowly pulls himself to his feet with the ropes. As he does, Benoit locks his arms around Regal's waist! The crowd pop as Benoit nails three huge German suplexes! Benoit drags his thumb across his throat and heads to the top rope. He lines Regal up, before soaring off and connecting with a Diving Headbutt! Benoit covers, one, two, three! 1-0 Benoit after 18:23! The fifteen second break between falls seems like an age for between, and it gives Regal the chance to re-discover where he is and get to a vertical base. As the bell rings again, Benoit charges but gets greeted with a knee to the ribs. Regal continues to strike Benoit's injured sternum, before taking him down with a powerslam. An arrogant smirk comes over Regal's face, and he grabs Benoit's legs. Benoit fights it but he can't stop the Brit locking in a Sharpshooter! Benoit struggles and squirms, trying to reach the ropes. He screams in agony as Regal applies more pressure. Benoit slowly edges towards the ropes. He's just centimetres away from them - Regal pulls him to the centre of the ring! Benoit valiantly tries to fight but his right arm is raised, ready to tap. Regal continues to wrench but Benoit clasps his fist, not willing to give up. Slowly Benoit begins to fade. The referee checks and it appears Benoit has passed out. He raises the arm once; it drops. Nick Patrick raises Benoit's arm again; it drops! He raises it a third time; Benoit keeps it up! William Regal is stunned! Furious and with blood dripping from his head to form a pool on the canvas, he lowers his body, applying even more pressure to the hold. Benoit can't find the energy to fight it and once again Patrick has to check his consciousness. He lifts the arm once; it drops. He lifts it a second time; it drops. The crowd are hushed as Nick Patrick lifts it a third time; it drops! The crowd gasp as the bell rings and Regal takes the second fall! 1-1 after 22:52! The fifteen seconds pass and Benoit doesn't move. William Regal is quick to take advantage, covering him immediately. One! Two! ThreKICKOUT! The crowd erupt with cheers! Slowly Benoit gets back to his feet, fighting Regal off as he does. Regal swings, but Benoit ducks it and hits a back suplex; both men are down. The referee's count reaches eight before they both get back up. Regal blocks a wild punch from Benoit and whips him hard into the corner, causing further pain to Benoit's bandaged ribs and weakened spine. Regal lifts Benoit to the top rope, and hooks him for a superplex but Benoit fights back! After a short struggle, Chris Benoit shoves Regal from the top rope and he lands shoulder-first on the canvas! The Rabid Wolverine climbs down from the turnbuckle, smelling blood in the water as William Regal gets to his feet. Benoit pounces, taking Regal down with the Crippler Crossface! It's locked in! Benoit wrenches hard on Regal's head, applying pressure to his neck and arm as well. William Regal desperately struggles but he's going nowhere and has no choice. He taps out! Benoit wins the third fall! 2-1 to Benoit after 27:38! After the third fifteen second break is over, Benoit and Regal enter a sluggish brawl, with both men feeling the effects of the match. Benoit takes the advantage and attempts a suplex but doesn't have the strength to lift Regal. Instead, he improvises with a takedown into an armbar but Regal reaches the ropes. As they get back to their feet, Regal throws a punch but Benoit counters, trying to take Regal down for another Crossface but he pushes Benoit away! Out of nowhere William Regal nails a Regal Cutter! Both men go down with fifteen seconds on the clock. It's five seconds before Regal moves, and he slowly crawls towards Benoit. With the seconds ticking down Regal droops his arm over Benoit with just four seconds left. ONE! TWO! THREKICKOUT! The buzzer goes! Chris Benoit wins! Rating: A* Segment Thirteen: The crowd go wild as the bell rings and Benoit is announced as the NEW WWE United States Champion! They wait but no one appears; I'm sure some more cruisers will be here one day. The bell rings and the match gets underway, with an over-enthusiastic Jamie Noble being eliminated almost immediately by Jimmy Yang. The other entrants get straight to work, with other early eliminations coming for Scotty, Grandmaster and Guido. The three opponents from two days ago, Yang, Spike and Crazy team up to counter out the trio of Chavo, Daivari and Shannon. Shannon is the first to go, eliminated by Spike but the self-proclaimed boss of Smackdown soon follows, courtesy of Chavo Guerrero. The quick flurry of eliminations leaves Jimmy Yang, Super Crazy, Daivari and Chavo Guerrero. Yang and Chavo pair off, whilst the two men who have never held the title go at it. After taking Daivari down with a suplex, Crazy gets risky and heads to the top rope, soaring off with a perfect moonsault legdrop. Daivari is slow back to his feet but gathers his senses and charges at Crazy, only to be lifted over the top rope and sent crashing out of the match! Elsewhere, Yang battles with Chavo, and the champion is beaten down. Guerrero keeps his offense with the three amigos before heading to the top rope. He taunts, incensing the crowd, and leaps off with a frogsplash but Yang raises his knees! Chavo bounces away in pain and is grabbed by Super Crazy, who was waiting to pounce. Yang recovers, and together they launch Chavo from the ring! The champion Jimmy Yang and the man that was his friend just one month ago are left. The highflying extravaganza is thrown to one side for now, as they engage in a wild brawl. Emotions run high with every strike, and it's Yang that comes out on top. He goes for a jumping heel kick, but Crazy ducks and tries to sweep Yang's legs, but the champions jumps it. The crowd acknowledge the exchange with a pop, but Super Crazy isn't stopping and he dropsaults Yang back against the ropes and charges, but Jimmy Yang lifts him up and over! Crazy lands on the apron! Yang doesn't realise and stumbles back towards the centre of the ring, but when the bell doesn't ring he turns round, right into a springboard bodypress! The two cruisers get back to their feet and again Yang takes control, scooping Crazy up and positioning him for a piledriver but Super Crazy locks his legs round Yang's neck and hurricanranas him over the top rope! Jimmy Yang falls to the floor! Super Crazy wins! Rating: C Segment Fifteen: The match is over, and Super Crazy is celebrating. The referee hands him his new title belt, as Jimmy Yang slides back into the ring and offers his hand as a sign of respect, but Crazy just laughs and turns away. Taker starts to unload with rights and lefts to the gut and face, with Edge dropping to the mat after the final blow. Undertaker grabs Edge by the hair and whips him across the ring to the opposite corner, before following him and attempting a body splash but Edge moves! Undertaker slams hard against the turnbuckle, and Edge takes advantage, dropping Undertaker with a DDT. Edge drags Undertaker to the corner, climbing to the top rope as he does, and chokes him. The referee forces him to break it, so Edge spins Taker round and nails a Tornado DDT. Edge is first back to his feet, and whips Undertaker against the ropes, scoring a bodypress and a two count as he comes back. Frustrated, Edge argues with the referee, allowing Taker to get back into the match. Undertaker grabs Edge by the arm and goes Old School, taking Edge down. He mounts him for a series of punches before trying to lift him to his feet, but Edge nails a low blow! The referee doesn't see it! Edgecution! Edge covers, one, two, thrKICKOUT! First of all, the formidable Tag Team Champions, Rokuda and Umaga, take on the plucky Scottish bravehearts, The Highlanders. It's sure to be a tough test for the kilt-wearing kinsmen, but can they pull out a shock? Or will Estrada's Bulldozers gain the momentum heading into their Vengeance title match with Cryme Tyme? In the other scheduled contest, Intercontinental Champion Ric Flair faces a stern test as he competes in triple threat action with Montel Vontavious Porter and the "Most Valuable Bodyguard", Paul Burchill. A victory over the Nature Boy would be a huge accomplishment for WWE's franchise player, but can MVP outsmart the veteran? Or will Flair avenge the beating he received last week at the hands of his two opponents with a victory live on Raw? As you can see, this week's Raw is a show full of questions, the biggest of which has to be the motive behind Batista's dramatic invasion of last week's main event, in which he took out Chris Jericho and helped former partner Randy Orton on his way to a Vengeance Title shot. This Monday's show will open with the dastardly duo explaining their actions, so what do The Animal and The Legend Killer have to say for themselves? And what will WWE Heavyweight Champion Shawn Michaels make of the way in which his Vengeance opponent was determined? Another conundrum surrounds the apparent kidnapping of the WWE Women's Champion, Melina, by a mysterious masked man this time seven days ago. Who is responsible for this henious act, and what do they want from Johnny Nitro's girlfriend? Nitro himself will not be at this week's show due to a leg injury sustained as he collided with the kidnapper's getaway car last week, but he will no doubt be keeping a close eye on Raw's goings-on. With Melina isolated and vulnerable, is there any hope of escape? Scheduled Matches: The Highlanders vs. The Samoan Bulldozers Ric Flair vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Paul Burchill PLUS: Fresh off the back of announcing the return of the King of the Ring pay per view at Judgement Day, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will be at the show!

The Animal soon appears on the stage along with Randy Orton, and the duo take their time as they arrogantly strut to the ring, milking the abuse from the crowd. They each procure a microphone and Randy Orton is the first to speak, boasting about how last week he disposed of two of Raw’s biggest stars without breaking a sweat, and how now it’s only a matter of time before the WWE Heavyweight Championship is wrapped around his waist. Batista backs him up, explaining that the reason he helped Orton to victory last week is simple – to make an impact. Because as of now, Evolution is back in business! This brings out the champ himself, Shawn Michaels! The crowd go wild with enthusiasm but HBK isn’t in any mood for fun and games – he heads straight to the top of the ramp, microphone in hand. The Showstopper proclaims that if Batista wants to make an impact, then how about he take on Michaels himself, one on one, tonight! The crowd go wild but The Animal protests that it’s not gonna happen…not unless the stakes are raised. Orton then chips in, suggesting that Batista face Michaels on the condition that if he wins, he is added to the Vengeance main event! After a moment for consideration, Michaels say that it’s on! But just then, Shad is seen heading down the ramp! The Bulldozers immediately turn their attentions towards their Vengeance challenger, as behind them, JTG leaps over the barricade and grabs the two Tag Team Title belts! Estrada furiously yells at his Bulldozers to turn around, and when they see JTG escaping with their gold, they go berserk and charge after him, as Shad makes an equally quick getaway. Amidst all this, The Highlanders remain in the ring as the referee’s count reaches ten! It’s a huge upset! Rating: B Segment 3: The cameras fade away from the wildly celebrating Highlanders to see Umaga and Rokuda backstage, conducting a frantic shirt for their title belts. Suddenly, a dark-skinned figure emerges from round the corner! The Samoans dives towards him and nail a crushing Double Samoan Spike, but on further inspection realise that it’s just a security guard! In a blind rage they turn around and flatten a nearby door with simultaneous kicks, and storm into an office inhabited by senior referee Mike Chioda. As the referee struggles to understand their demands, the Samoans snap once again and lift him up before slamming him through his very own desk! The cameras fade away from Bulldozers, who continue their search with utter carnage in their wake. Rating: C+ Segment 4: Elsewhere backstage, Todd Grisham is seen ready to interview Carlito. Upon being asked about his loss in last week’s main event, the Puerto Rican is indignant, claiming that he didn’t lose – Chris Jericho lost. At this, Y2J himself storms onto the set, getting right in the face of the man who beat him at Backlash, and says that if Carlito hadn’t been too busy writhing in pain after the moonsault Jericho gave him, he could have broken up the pin. Incensed, Carlito picks an apple out of his pocket and takes a good, long bite, chewing it thoughtfully as Jericho dares him to spit it in his face. With the tension at boiling point, another voice enters the scene – that of Vince McMahon himself! The furious chairman says that tonight, Y2J and Carlito need to put their differences aside…because they’re going to be teaming up to take on Bobby Lashley and the man who will tonight confirm his allegiance to the New Breed, Shelton Benjamin Rating: B+ Ric Flair vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Paul Burchill: It’s clear right away that this might as well be a handicap match, as MVP and his bodyguard take the fight to the Intercontinental Champion. For the first few minutes, Flair gives as good as he gets, but eventually the numbers game becomes too much and he is backed into a corner, before being levelled with a brutal big boot by the Brit! Flair staggers for a few moments then falls to the floor, and MVP makes the cover! 1, 2, no! Naitch gets a foot on the bottom rope! MVP lifts Flair’s up and delivers a snap suplex, before covering again – another near fall! Growing frustrated, MVP hands the reigns to Burchill, who goes for a Powerbomb, but Flair rakes the eyes and the bodyguard is sent crashing to the floor! Porter comes in and looks for a DDT, but Flair trips him up and locks in the Figure Four! Bang in the middle of the ring, MVP has nowhere to go – but there’s Burchill! He breaks up the hold with a gruesome stomp to the head, then lifts Flair to his feet and nails the C4, before covering himself: 1, 2, 3! It’s over! Rating: A* Segment 5: Burchill’s arm is raised by the referee, but he is soon confronted by MVP, who is furious that Burchill didn’t allow him to make the pinfall. Burchill’s pride appears to be at stake as the crowd urge him to lash out, but his mind is made up for him as a recovered Flair nails approaches MVP from behind and swings the title belt! In a desperate attempt to protect his client, Burchill leaps forward and takes the blow himself, right to the head! Flair looks down in disbelief at the sacrifice Burchill made, then is caught off guard by Porter, who nails the Playmaker! MVP taunts the crowd and motions that the Intercontinental Title belongs around his waist, before helping Burchill to his feet and thanking him as they head back up the ramp. Rating: B Segment 6: Backstage, Kenny Dykstra is seen alone in his locker room, slapping his own face and seemingly psyching himself up in front of the mirror. Confusing, he heads around towards the announce table as the announcers question him, but he appears ignorant to their words as he grabs a steel chair from under the ring. The members of staff begin to panic as for no apparent reason, Dykstra lunges forward and brings the chair crashing down on the head of Lillian Garcia! As the crowd look on in hushed disbelief, security guards and EMTs dart toward the unconscious ring announcer, and Dykstra makes a run for it through the crowd and Raw goes to commercial break. Rating: C Chris Jericho & Carlito vs. Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin: Lashley and Shelton come out first, accompanied by both Vince McMahon and Jonathan Coachman, whose attempts to keep their clients working as a unit seem unsuccessful early on as Lashley and Shelton make their way to the ring without once looking at each other. But compared to Jericho and Carlito they are tag team title material, as the two giant egos come out separately and argue over who starts in the ring. Carlito eventually realises he’ll be facing Lashley, and shrewdly backs away, leaving Y2J to take the fight to the powerhouse for several minutes before tagging in Carlito with a knife edged chop as Lashley lets Shelton in on the action. Benjamin and Carlito engage in a fast-paced battle of wits, which Carlito gets the better of after a poke to the eye and a DDT! He backs away with a smirk on his face, only for Jericho to blind tag his way in! Jericho and Shelton battle it out and Jericho knocks him to the floor and keeps him there for several minutes with various holds, as Lashley, Coach and Vince yell for Shelton to make the tag. But defiant, Benjamin fights his way to his feet, blocking a kick from Jericho and nailing a Dragon Screw! Exhausted, he backs into the corner and Lashley blind tags himself in! He goes for the cover, but Shelton breaks it up! Vince and Coach yell furiously as Lashley and Shelton square up, and the former ECW champion throws a punch – but Shelton ducks, and nails a huge Super Kick! Lashley falls to the floor and Shelton slides out of the ring, ignoring the pleas of Coach as Jericho makes the cover! 1, 2, 3! Rating: A* Segment 8: Jericho’s hand is raised by the referee, and Carlito is soon right in his face, with the two staring each other down as outside the ring, Shelton turns his back on a fuming Vince McMahon and heads up the ramp, where from behind the curtain, Booker T emerges. The two shake hands and smirk at the ring, where Lashley is slowly getting to his feet, before heading backstage together. With Jericho and Carlito now having left the scene, the focus is on The Coach, who looks worried and visibly gulps when he sees the reddened face of Vince McMahon, who storms to grab a microphone and gets nose to nose with his Executive Assistant. Saying that he’s tired of Coach’s mistakes letting down The New Breed, Vince says that as of now, his services are no longer needed! Because just two weeks after having made his return, Jonathan Coachman is fiiiireed! The crowd cheer as Coach is distraught, and insult is added to injury when he turns around…right into the grasp of Bobby Lashley! Lashley lifts Coach up and delivers a huge Dominator outside the ring, before storming to the back along with the Chairman. Rating: B+ Segment 9: The crowd’s cheers soon turn to gasps when Melina is seen backstage in a room lit by a single spotlight on her the chair she is tied to. She is gagged, and lets out a muffled cry when a masked figure circles her in the shadows with sinister poise. In a voice viewers cannot place, the figure says that tonight, with Johnny Nitro in a hospital many states away, it’s the perfect time for Melina’s “first test”. The figure then demands that she go to the ring right now, for she is about to defend her Women’s Championship! Around a minute later, Melina comes to the ring looking distinctly pale and subdued, her eyes begging for help as she awaits her challenger. Suddenly, some heavy music begins to play and out from the back comes an enormous, muscular black woman, at least six feet tall, and the crowd look on with in a mix of shock and awe as the woman, introduce as “Queen Kong”, enters the ring and makes a beeline for the Champion! Rating: B Melina © vs. Queen Kong – WWE Women’s Championship: Melina reacts quickly, evading the debuting Kong’s first clothesline but being decimated by the second, and Kong goes on to dominate the match, rising to the occasion as she keeps Melina on the floor, only lifting her up in order to slam her back down. But the champion eventually finds her resolve, fighting for her life to get back to her feet, then nailing a spinning facebuster! She looks set to go for the cover, but is soon distracted by the presence of the masked figure heading down the ramp. Asking what the hell he wants from her, Melina’s focus wanes and when she turns around Kong lifts her up and delivers a devastating Spiral Bomb! 1, 2, 3! Dazed, Batista swings again, but this time Michaels ducks and whips him into the ropes, only to be flattened by a huge clothesline as Batista rebounds! The Animal looks to capitalise with a quick cover which amounts to a near fall, so he continues to strike the downed champion and hoists him upside-down, hanging him in a tree of woe in the corner! He places a boot on the throat of The Showstopper and chokes him out until just before the referee’s count reaches five, at which point he backs away and watches Michaels fall limply to the floor, the blood rushing back to the rest of his body from his reddened face. Looking to finish the job, Batista lifts Michaels to his feet and clubs him on the back, before setting him up for a Batista Bomb! He holds him up in the air, but Michaels throws a Punch and send his opponent crashing to the floor! He gets back to a vertical base and Batista charges in, but Michaels evades the blow and The Animal is sent flying into the turnbuckle, head-first! Exhausted, HBK sinks to the ground, only to spring right back up! He stalks Batista and tunes up the band – Sweet Chin MuNO! Batista ducks, the kick strikes the referee! Batista and Michaels pause for a moment before slugging it out once again, and Batista goes for a Spinebuster, but HBK fights out of it and shoves Batista away, before hitting a huge Sweet Chin Music! But there, behind him, is Randy Orton! Michaels raises his arms in celebration and turns around, right into an RKO! She's Amazing Kong, has been in developmental territories for a while now and I thought her the perfect candidate to kickstart the women's division. I've booked the next couple of shows and unfortunately, improving Kong's overness in certain ways had an adverse affect on match ratings; you'll know why once the next Raw is done. I figured the name change was for the better.

WWE Smackdown from the Cox Arena in San Diego, California After a memorable night five days ago at Judgment Day, Smackdown is packed to the seams with the fallout. The most important revelation is that Smackdown will see the start of the King Of The Ring tournament, as it plays host to three qualifying matches! The first will see Big Show take on Brian Kendrick, less than a week after assaulting him following a loss at Judgment Day. Kendrick picked up a singles victory over Show only last month, but can the tag team champion pull out another victory against the odds as he faces off with a giant once again? Or will the dominating and destructive Big Show prove exactly why he is a former WWE, WCW and ECW World Champion? And what impact, if any, will their respective partners have on the match? The second, and possibly biggest, qualifier of the night holds a special clause. Jeff Hardy takes on William Regal but they will be calmed by the no-lose stipulation off the match. The winner, obviously, progresses in the King Of The Ring tournament but the loser will have his pain eased by the knowledge that he will receive a shot at the United States Championship at the King Of The Ring Pay Per View. Less than a week after a truly memorable match with Chris Benoit, will Regal be in any kind of condition to compete? In the final King Of The Ring qualifier, pride will be on the line for Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff, as CM Punk takes on Scott Hall, in Hall’s first match since returning to the WWE. Punk will no doubt be looking for revenge, after Hogan and Hall cost his side victory at Judgment Day, and he certainly has the speed and technical advantage but will that be enough against the more experienced Scott Hall? And, possibly more importantly, will the rest of the New World Order or Heyman’s Extremists get involved? Scheduled Matches: King Of The Ring Qualifier Big Show vs. Brian Kendrick King Of The Ring Qualifier Jeff Hardy vs. William Regal Winner advances; loser gets a United States Championship shot King Of The Ring Qualifier CM Punk vs. Scott Hall WWE Cruiserweight Championship Number One Contendership Chavo Guerrero vs. Daivari vs. Guido vs. Jimmy Yang PLUS: Edge will be in the house! Ken Kennedy holds an in ring celebration!

As always, a good RAW show. I was slightly confused about Orton suggesting the Main Event stipulation; it seems strange that he would want another person in his title match at Vengeance, ally or not. Still, can't beat a good ol' Main Event promo to open the show. The Highlanders won a match? What have you done with the real Shape? Damn...The Bulldozers don't like people touching their titles do they? Big ouchie goes out to Mike Chioda! :p Vince thinks he's so clever putting Jericho and Carlito against Lashley and Shelton...it was a great moment when Shelton kicked the taste out of Lashley's mouth; even better when Booker came out and they shook hands. Sucks to be Coach though. Ooo, damn, Burchill took the win. He made up for it by taking a belt shot, but I don't see that partnership holding up much longer. Dykstra is such a little bitch; hope someone beats his ass for clobbering Lilian with a chair. More abuse of women next I see, as the ongoing Melina abduction angle takes another turn. Why didn't Melina make a run for it when she came out for her match? It was good that the title changed hands, as Melina can't really represent the division, seeing as she's being held captive for 90% of the show. Still don't understand why Orton is pulling for Batista to be in the Vengeance Main Event; that should have been put forward by Batista and be a point of conflict between them. There's no way Orton would trust Batista THAT much so soon, especially considering how Orton left Evolution the first time. The ending to the Main Event and RAW as a whole was great. I can really picture it, and it's an image I hate, which makes it good booking on your part. So...a referee being slammed through a table, a woman being hit with a steel chair, a different woman being held captive and everyone's favourite guy double-teamed, attacked and mocked; a nice show for all the family :p Seriously though, I think returning to a slightly grittier style is great. Also, thanks for the kind words about the graphics, Mtm2k6 :) I made the RAW and SD show headers [the preview ones are just basic WWE logos], the champion pictures, the title pictures and the Mania match headers. The Mania, Backlash and J-Day logos are all just PSDs I found [though I did tack some extra bits onto the J-Day one (SD logo, WWE logo and the arena it was held in)]. My favourite is probably the MITB logo, I was really pleased with how that came out.

I'm away in Majorca for the next week so I've sent my next Raw preview and show to Slim, to post in good time after he's done Smackdown. I think he'll also be producing a NRU and poll for readers after the two shows. So have a good week everyone, in the mean time keep reading and letting us know what you think. :p

Edge jogs out from behind the curtain, still wearing his street clothes, and heads down to the ring. The crowd jeer and wave their Undertaker signs, as Edge slides into the ring and takes a microphone. Still as arrogant as ever, Edge claims that The Undertaker got lucky at Judgment Day and that soon enough he’ll be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. That brings more heat, but Edge isn’t done. He says that he will face anyone on the roster in a Number One Contender match in the Main Event tonight! The crowd pop, and Edge drops the microphone. His music hits, and the Rated R Superstar returns to the back. Rating: A Funaki vs. Shannon Moore The early going is fairly even, with the two cruisers exchanging quick moves and holds. Funaki starts to take control, but a slip on the turnbuckle allows Shannon back into the match. He shoves Funaki off the top rope and waits for him to stagger to his feet before diving off and nailing a Mooregasm and picking up the three count. Rating: B- Segment Two: We cut to the parking lot where a stretch limousine has just pulled up. The driver gets out and makes the long journey to the back door, which he opens, and six very recognisable figures step out. It’s Eric Bischoff and the new New World Order! The head into the arena, as Styles and JBL go crazy at ringside. Rating: B+ Segment Three: Elsewhere backstage we see Big Show walking. After a series of powerslams, Show launches Kendrick into the corner and slaps his chest with a huge chop, before whipping him into the opposite corner and charging after him, but Kendrick moves! Big Show slams into the turnbuckle, and Kendrick is quick to capitalise with a bulldog. Big Show uses his strength to force himself back up, but Kendrick keeps coming, knocking Show back against the ropes with three dropkicks. Kendrick rushes again at Big Show, this time launching himself at the giant but Big Show grabs him in midair! Show Stopper! Big Show covers, one! Two! Three! Rating: A Segment Four: Backstage Gregory Helms is interviewed about what happened at Judgment Day, when The Tornado left a Hurricane costume in Helms’ dressing room. He reads it, before looking around in despair. He drops the note and storms out of the room, leaving the camera to zoom in on the note, which reads, “I know your secret, Punk, and I’m going to tell”. Rating: B+ Segment Six: Once again we catch up with Gregory Helms, who is in hot pursuit of The Tornado! The masked hero darts and weaves through various obstacles and eventually Helms loses sight of him. Frustrated, Helms flings over a complimentary buffet table, sending food flying everywhere. Rating: C+ Jeff Hardy vs. William Regal The crowd are behind one hundred percent behind Hardy as the match gets going, with Regal still bearing stitches from his epic battle with Chris Benoit at Judgment Day. William Regal is still sluggish after his brutal pay per view match, so the action begins with Jeff Hardy flying round the ring and taking control. Regal struggles to deal with Hardy’s speed, and has to resort to the cheap tactic of raking his eyes. Once he finds his opening, Regal takes Jeff down and keeps him there with various submission holds, weakening his legs. Feeling decidedly heelish, Regal removes the padding from the turnbuckle and lifts Hardy up, ready to plant him face first onto the bare steel but Jeff swings his legs forward and counters, bulldogging Regal onto the exposed metal! Regal is instantly busted open, and Jeff tries to capitalise with a Twist Of Fate but Regal shoves him away. Hardy comes back off the ropes…right into a Regal Cutter! William Regal covers, one…two…three! Rating: A* Segment Seven: Backstage CM Punk is found alone, holding a microphone. He appears to be in a remote part of the arena, possibly hiding from someone. Punk cuts a very close-to-the-bone promo on the New World Order, and how they effectively almost killed wrestling when they engulfed WCW. Just when Punk is starting to get personal the feed cuts out…to a message brought to us from the New World Order. It simply states that a new era of dominance in World Wrestling Entertainment begins tonight. Rating: B+ CM Punk vs. Scott Hall – King Of The Ring Qualifier Scott Hall looks like he’s been hitting the gym recently, as he is in surprisingly good shape though he still can’t keep up with the young up-and-comer CM Punk. They fight back and forth, with Punk perhaps having slightly more offense but after a mistake from Hall, Punk takes him down and locks in the Anaconda Vice! The veteran struggles in vain, but before he taps the NWO's music hits! Kevin Nash and Hollywood Hulk Hogan rush down to the ring, with Bischoff in tow. Punk breaks the Vice but is instantly caught with a Big Boot from Nash! The referee immediately calls for the bell, Punk wins by DQ! Rating: B Segment Eight: Nash, Hall and Hogan ignore the constant bell ringing from ringside and continue their assault. The Outsiders scare off the referee, whilst Hogan bounces off the ropes and hits a huge leg drop! But wait, out from the back comes the cavalry! It’s RVD, Rhino, Sabu and Tajiri! They manage to turn the tide, but the NWO's trump cards swing it back, as Koslov and Finlay hit the ring! The five members of the New World Order chase off the extremists, who retreat up the ramp and are joined by Paul Heyman, microphone in hand. Heyman congratulates Bischoff on another cheap attack and says he didn’t expect any better. He continues to say that he, unlike Bischoff, still has friends in high places and has just received word that there will be a six man tag team match at King Of The Ring, pitting three members of the NWO against three of his extremists! The crowd pop loudly, but Eric is in no mood to mess around as he takes a microphone. He tells Heyman that he DOES still have friends in power, and that he already knew about the match, before revealing his team…the original New World Order: Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Hulk Hogan! They celebrate in the ring, whilst Heyman and co. look on from the stage, looking distinctly unimpressed. Rating: B+ Segment Nine: Backstage the new WWE United States Champion Chris Benoit is walking through the corridors of the arena, being congratulated by everyone he passes and he silently acknowledges them with a nod. As he turns a corner a young man rushes up to him and introduces himself as Petey Williams. He tells Benoit that he too is a Canadian wrestler, and that he admires Benoit more than anyone. Benoit thanks him and continues walking, but Williams continues to follow him, asking Benoit all sorts of wrestling related questions as we head back to ringside. Rating: C- Chavo Guerrero vs. Daivari vs. Guido vs. Jimmy Yang More gripping action from the cruiserweight division, which the crowd are getting more into every week, starts with Chavo, Daivari and Guido all turning on the former champion. Predictably, their alliance doesn’t last, with Chavo trying to sneak the victory with a roll up on Guido but he kicks out. The four men pair off, with Guido taking control of Guerrero, and Yang fighting back into the match against Daivari. Guido rushes at Chavo but he scouts it and lifts Guido over the top rope and down to ringside! On the other side of the ring Jimmy Yang floors Daivari with a stalling brainbuster, before turning his attention to Guerrero. Chavo swings a punch, but Yang avoids it, kicks him in the gut and nails a spinning underhook facebuster! Yang makes the cover, and gets the three before Guido can break the pin! Rating: B+ Segment Ten: Jimmy Yang’s music hits and he starts to celebrate in the ring, but suddenly Spike Dudley’s music hits! The Boss comes out, microphone in hand, and instantly has Yang’s attention. Spike congratulates Yang on earning a shot at Super Crazy but tells him that he won’t be the only challenger…because as of right now he’s adding himself to the match! Rating: C Segment Eleven: A video starts up on the Titantron, recapping Ken Kennedy’s Wrestlemania victory, and his defense of his Money In The Bank title shot last Sunday at Judgment Day, including his savage attack on John Cena that left him a bloody mess. Rating: B+ Segment Twelve: “KENNEDY!” rings through the arena and out from the back comes Mr. Money In The Bank himself, Ken Kennedy, to a wave of heat from the fans. He comes down to the ring and introduces himself, before declaring today National Kennedy Day. As Kennedy gives an exaggerated story of his accomplishments, confetti rains down from the rafters. The crowd are growing ever more irritated with Kennedy until suddenly “My Time Is Now!” hits and they erupt into cheers! With dozens of stitches holding his head shut, John Cena sprints down to the ring and tackles Kennedy to the mat. Cena pounds away on Kennedy, until officials rush to the ring to separate them, dragging Cena away, while Kennedy makes his escape with his briefcase. Rating: A* Edge vs. ???: Edge makes his entrance, loosening up in the ring and waiting for his opponent. The crowd are hushed in anticipation when suddenly Chris Benoit’s music starts up! The sell-out crowd pop loudly as a bandaged Rabid Wolverine comes out from the back and makes his way to the ring. The two Canadians go straight at it, fighting tooth and nail. Benoit’s tenacity gives him the advantage, as he beats Edge into the corner with stinging knife-edge chops. Ever-willing to take advantage of a situation, Edge knees Benoit in the ribs, causing him to recoil in pain. The two proceed to brawl, exchanging punches and low-impact moves, before Chris Benoit starts to build up a head of steam. With the crowd behind him, Benoit locks his arms round Edge’s waist and connects with three German suplexes! He heads to the top rope, lining Edge up, but as he dives off the turnbuckle Edge rolls out the way! Benoit eats canvas! Edge pulls himself up in the corner and stalks Benoit, ready to uncoil. Slowly the US Champion staggers back to his feet, only to be near-cut in half by a vicious Spear! Edge makes the cover, one…two…three! Rating: B Segment Thirteen: Edge’s music hits and the referee raises his arm in victory, with the crowd jeering but suddenly a gong is heard, and it reverberates around the arena. The fans are instantly ignited, as the lights go down and smoke bellows down the ramp, surrounding the ring. A deafening roar of cheers greets The Undertaker as he steps out from behind the curtain. He stares at Edge in the ring, drawing his thumb across his throat, as Smackdown comes to a close. Rating: B+ Overall Rating: B+ Quick Results: Shannon Moore over Funaki in 4:04 Big Show over Brian Kendrick in 8:30 William Regal over Jeff Hardy in 12:29 CM Punk over Scott Hall in 6:27 Jimmy Yang over Chavo Guerrero, Daivari and Guido in 7:36 to become the Number One Contender for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Edge over Chris Benoit in 16:24 to become the Number One Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Monday Night Raw, Live from The TD Waterhouse Center in Orlando, Florida Last week’s edition of Raw was not a good time to be a champion, with one title changing hands, one team having their belts stolen by their closest rivals, and two champions being on the receiving end of two-on-one assaults. This week, they look for some revenge. In the opening grudge match of the night, Intercontinental Champion Ric Flair takes on the brash, arrogant Montel Vontavious Porter. MVP’s ego has been even more inflated than usual ever since he employed the services of Paul Burchill as his bodyguard, but will the presence of the MVB at ringside be enough to defeat the wily veteran? Or will the Nature Boy teach MVP a much-needed lesson in respect? The tag team champions, Umaga and Rokuda, conducted a wild search backstage after their title belts were stolen by Cryme Tyme, but it came to no avail. This week, The two men who take on the Samoan Bulldozers at Vengeance have vowed to “defend” the stolen gold as they take on The New Breed’s Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Vo. Can Cryme Tyme gain momentum heading towards Vengeance? And will Armando Estrada’s Samoans be looking to retrieve the gold they hold so possessively? A new Women’s Champion was crowned last week, in the form of the menacing six-foot tall figure of Queen Kong, who defeated the voluptuous Melina in convincing fashion. After the match, Melina’s masked kidnapper was once again there to take his hostage captive, but with Johnny Nitro back in attendance this week, one has to feel the man behind the mask will be a little more careful. Can Nitro act as the knight in shining armour and come to the aid of his girlfriend, or will the kidnapper’s identity remain a secret yet again? And in Raw’s main event, WWE Heavyweight Champion Shawn Michaels must find a partner of his choosing to take on the formidable duo of Randy Orton and Batista. Ever since Evolution reunited with the common goal of taking the gold wrapped around The Showstopper’s waist, they have been more destructive than ever, both earning spots in the Vengeance main event after main event victories in recent weeks. Who will Michaels call upon to even up the odds, and whoever it is, will it be enough to end Evolution’s winning streak? For the answer to all of these questions and much, much more, tune in this Monday Night at 9, live on the USA Network! Scheduled Matches: Ric Flair vs. Montel Vontavious Porter Cryme Tyme vs. The New Breed Booker T vs. Joey Mercury Shawn Michaels & ??? vs. Evolution PLUS: Johnny Nitro will be backstage at the show! Queen Kong makes her first Women’s Championship defence! ----------- Shape wrote this [and RAW] before he went away so this could keep ticking over in his absence. Also, feedback on Smackdown would be appreciated, though I know it might be a little tough to get into at the moment as you don't know the background for the Tornado/Helms angle or the Spike Dudley = The Boss angle, for example. Still, any feedback is welcomed :)

Monday Night Raw, Live from The TD Waterhouse Center in Orlando, Florida Segment 1: The show begins with “I’m Coming!” blaring out over the speakers, and Montel Vontavious Porter struts his way to the ring, looking as confident as ever with the backing of Paul Burchill. He gets on the microphone and talks about his upcoming bout with Intercontinental Ric Flair, saying that after the “heroic sacrifice” that Paul Burchill made last week, it wouldn’t be right to emit him from this week’s contest. Therefore, in the interest of both style and entertainment, the match should be made a handicap match! Unsurprisingly, this brings out the Nature Boy himself, who bears a smug grin on his face as he heads out onto the stage to a massive ovation as the crowd woo their heads off. Flair says that if MVP wants to bring backup, then that’s fine – because this just became a tag-team match! Flair then introduces his partner as a man who has been injured since Backlash, and is dying to get back in the ring; dying to get revenge on the two men who put him in hospital. With the crowd growing in anticipation, Flair reveals…Matt Hardy! Hardy comes out onto the stage, oblivious to the ovation from the fans, his mind focused on the two men in the ring. Without so much as looking at his partner, Hardy charges towards MVP and Burchill and the match gets underway!
Rating: B+
Ric Flair & Matt Hardy vs. Montel Vontavious Porter & Paul Burchill: Hardy explodes with rage in the opening exchange, beating the hell out of MVP and causing the franchise player to cower away into his corner where he tags in his bodyguard. Burchill slowly climbs under the bottom rope and Hardy seeks to do the same again, but the Brit scouts it and blocks the ****, before levelling Hardy with a viscous clothesline! Now his opponent is down, MVP is eager to get back in on the action, and calls for the tag as Flair looks frustrated on the apron. Porter methodically picks apart the scraps in the ring, keeping Hardy on the ground for several minutes until Hardy fights to his knees and breaks a headlock! He takes out MVP and both men are down, as Hardy crawls towards Flair – but Porter grabs his leg and pulls him back to his corner, tagging in Burchill! The bodyguard grabs Hardy by the neck and looks set for a C4, but Hardy counters with a Side Effect! With a burst of energy, he makes the tag! Flair is quickly in on the action and attacks Burchill with a flurry of blows, and the bodyguard tries to tag in his client but MVP drops down off the apron, wanting none of it. Frustrated, Burchill turns around, and Flair nails a DDT! The Nature Boy tags in Hardy, who stalks Burchill as MVP looks on in horror…Twist of Fate! He covers! 1, 2, 3!
Rating: B+
Segment 2: Hardy’s music hits and he celebrates in delight as Flair approaches and raises his hand, until suddenly, MVP nails Matt from behind with a steel chair! Flair comes to Hardy’s aid and swings a fist, but is caught out from behind by Burchill, who clotheslines him out of the ring before turning to Hardy, and delivering a C4! As Raw goes to its first commercial break, Burchill stands tall over his foe as MVP smirks and talks trash.
Rating: B-
Segment 3: The atmosphere is tense when the show returns, as footage is shown of a dark room somewhere backstage, with Melina seen tied to a chair and heavily gagged, bearing the wounds sustained by Queen Kong last week. Slowly, another figure begins to circle her, caressing her hair in a disturbing, sinister manner before flicking a switch on a television screen; the light of which illuminates the room, slightly, revealing that the kidnapper is still wearing a black mask. The figure coldly tells Melina that despite her boyfriend being in the arena tonight looking for her, there’s not a chance that she’ll be found. The gagged hostage whimpers in response, and cameras fade back to ringside, where Queen Kong is seen awaiting her first challenger. Candice Michelle’s music hits to a positive ovation mainly from the male section of the audience, and the match is underway.
Rating: B
Queen Kong © vs. Candice Michelle - WWE Women's Championship: Kong dominates the entire match, and looks capable of ending it in less than a minute after a viscous clothesline. Mickie slides into the ring and grabs the title belt, before cracking it against the back of Kong! The champion is dazed and Candice is able to escape her grasp, fleeing the ring and urging Mickie to follow, but instead, she takes another shot with the belt, nailing Kong in the head this time! The crowd are shocked as Mickie makes her intentions clear; motioning that the gold belongs around her waist before heading back up the ramp with Candice. They turn around before heading backstage to play to the crowd, but in the ring, the fearsome Kong sits up, her eyes burning a hole through the potential challengers as JR suggests Mickie may just have awoken a beast.
Rating: D
Cryme Tyme vs. The New Breed: Still sporting the stolen tag-team title belts, Cryme Tyme are in control early on as they exchange frequent tags and double team moves to keep the upper hand, but soon Burke finds a way into the match with a blatant low blow on JTG whilst Cor Von distracts the referee! JTG sinks to his knees and Elijah backs away then springs in for the kill, nailing the Elijah Express, knocking JTG through the ropes and to the outside! Burke then joins Cor Von and the duo throw JTG into the barricade, but there’s Shad, nailing a clothesline on The Alpha Male! He turns towards Burke as the referee loses all control, chasing Elijah through the ring and then around it, only to be crushed by a Pounce from Cor Von as he turns a corner! Cor Von then throws JTG back into the ring where Elijah awaits, and he makes the cover! 1, 2, no! JTG gets a shoulder up; Burke can’t believe it! He makes another cover, but only gets another near fall! Desperate, he lifts up his opponent and goes for the Elijah Experience, but JTG counters with a small package! The real champions each grab a belt and lay out Shad and JTG, before heading back up the ramp, possessively keeping a hold of the gold as Armando Estrada lights a cigar with a devilish smirk.
Rating: B-
Segment 6: As the Bulldozers and Cryme Tyme head backstage, The New Breed remain at ringside, looking dismayed at their loss, when suddenly, the music of Booker T hits! The Book man comes out ready for his match with Joey Mercury, but first, he grabs a microphone and proceeds to taunt The New Breed, claiming that suckas like them ain’t never gon’ get his respect as long as they kiss Vince McMahon’s ass. Offended, Cor Von leaps up onto the apron and shouts abuse at Booker T, who doesn’t see Elijah behind him, charging in with an Elijah Express! His knees crash into Booker’s back and Cor Von slides into the ring to continue the beat down, until their attentions are turned to the ramp, which Shelton Benjamin is sprinting down! Booker’s ally cleans house and helps Booker to his feet as the New Breed backs away.
Rating: B+
Booker T vs. Joey Mercury: After a break, Shelton remains at ringside as Booker and Mercury lock up, with Booker winning the power game with relative ease. The primadonna then evades a kick and slides out of the ring, only to be thrown right back in by Shelton! Booker capitalises and keeps Mercury on the floor for a minute or two before lifting him up and going for a scoop slam, but Mercury slides down and rolls him up from behind, using the tights for leverage! 1, 2, no! Shocked, Mercury gets to his feet and throws another punch, but Booker kicks him in the gut! He rebounds from the ropes…Scissor Kick, right in the middle of the ring! 1, 2, 3!
Rating: B+
Segment 7: Shelton enters the ring and raises Booker’s arm but the celebration is cut short as the music of Vince McMahon hits! The chairman comes out onto the stage, guarded by the imposing presence of Bobby Lashley, and says that seeing as how Booker and Shelton seem to be such good friends, he’s got the perfect match for them at Vengeance! Because in just under two week’s time, it’s going to be Booker T and Shelton Benjamin against Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von and Bobby Lashley, in a three-on-two handicap match! Vince looks smug and heads back through the curtain, followed by Lashley, who gives a stern stare to the two men in the ring before leaving.
Rating: B
Segment 8: Joey Mercury is seen walking down a corridor backstage, looking miserable after his convincing defeat. Out of nowhere, Johnny Nitro appears with a baseball bat in hand, cracking the weapon on the back of Mercury’s head! He drops the bat and delivers closed fists to the skull of his former partner, furiously demanding that Mercury tell him where Melina is. Pleading for his life, Mercury shields his face and desperately says that he doesn’t know, but Nitro is having none of it. In a blind rage, he picks up the bat once again and swings bat, but before he can deliver the fatal blow he’s tackled from behind by a number of referees, before being dragged away yelling that Mercury won’t live past the end of this week.
Rating: B-
Segment 9: Elsewhere backstage, Shawn Michaels is seen alongside Todd Grisham, looking rather optimistic for a man who has to face two formidable opponents with his title on the line at Vengeance. When Todd asks him if his mystery partner tonight is, as many people believe, a returning Triple H, Michaels gets straight to the point, saying that Hunter is a good few weeks away from recovery just yet. But not to worry, because his partner is indeed a former World Champion. At, Batista and Randy Orton step onto the screen, looking as confident and self-satisfied as ever. The duo states that it doesn’t matter who HBK has picked to stand alongside him tonight, because in case he didn’t notice, Randy Orton and Batista are both former World Champions themselves. In fact, Batista is a two-time World Champion, and Orton is the youngest World Champion of all time. So what could Michaels and his partner possibly have over them? The champion simply smirks, taking the comments in his stride as he walks away, leaving Evolution confident they’ve won the mind games heading towards Vengeance.
Rating: B+
Segment 10: Still backstage, a door labelled “WWE Chairman – Vincent Kennedy McMahon” is seen opening, and out steps Carlito, holding a clipboard with what appears to be a contract on it. He is soon confronted by Chris Jericho, who asks him what the hell it is, and Carlito responds by claiming that this is his ticket to the top, before walking away, leaving Jericho confused and angry. After a moment’s pause, he knocks on Vince’s door and enters the office himself.
Rating: B+
Kenny Dykstra vs. Charlie Haas: The crowd get behind Haas throughout the match, their emotions still reeling after Kenny Dykstra’s despicable actions last week. Much to their frustration he is on good form in this one, keeping control throughout with a variety of underhanded tactics and winning the match with a Guillotine Leg Drop around the eight minute mark.
Rating: B
Segment 11: Dykstra stands tall above Haas and smirks arrogantly as JR and King discuss what he did to Lillian Garcia, moving beginning speculation over who Shawn Michaels has chosen as his partner for the main event.
Rating: B+
Segment 12: Evolution’s music hits first and Orton and Batista stride out onto the stage, taking their time on the way to the ring and soaking up the heat from the crowd. They keenly wait as the champion comes out to a massive ovation, microphone already in hand. He says that his partner tonight is a man whom Evolution knows very well – in fact; they both plied their trade alongside him on Smackdown just over a year ago. Batista and Orton look confused but it all clicks into place when the music hits... What you gonna do when we come for you? Correle. Correle. Andale. The crowd goes wild as through the stage jumps Rey Mysterio! In an instant, Batista’s expression becomes conflicted as he faces up to his former friend. Rey and HBK look at each other and nod, before sliding into the ring!
Rating: A
Shawn Michaels & Rey Mysterio vs. Evolution: After an early brawl the action filters down to Mysterio and Orton in the ring, with Rey using his size and speed to his advantage as he evades Orton’s attacks and delivers some stiff kicks to the legs. Frustrated, Orton tags in Batista, who gives him an awkward glance before stepping under the top rope. Mysterio squares up to him, his head meeting Batista’s chest, and the atmosphere is intense as the two men stare each other down. Indecisive, Batista shakes his head before backing away and tagging Orton in once again! The Legend Killer is furious, not noticing Mysterio springing off the top rope with a dropkick! Orton is sent to the outside and he recuperates, before reaching under the bottom rope and tripping up Mysterio! Having gained the upper hand, he enters the ring and dominates the Mexican, keeping him off his vertical base as Michaels looks on in dismay. Tremendously focused, Orton resists taunting and keeps on the offence, lifting Rey to his feet and looking for a backbreaker, but Rey rolls through and crawls between the legs, tagging in HBK! Michaels climbs to the top rope and launches in with a clothesline, knocking down Orton, who tags in Batista. The Animal has no problem taking the fight to the champion, but Michaels ducks a clothesline and nails an atomic drop! He tags in Mysterio, who approaches Batista and stares him down once more, with The Animal still in a dilemma over what to do as Orton yells at him to finish the job. Rey then extends his hand in a gesture of respect, and Batista accepts it – only to pull Rey in and lift him up in the air, delivering an earth-shattering Batista Bomb! His eyes burning red, Batista makes the cover as Orton storms into the ring to hold HBK back! 1, 2, 3! The crowd look on in dismay as Evolution head back up the ramp together, with Michaels tending to Mysterio, who clutches his stomach in agony and wonders about how his return should have been. Seeing as no one else has commented on RAW, I think I will; wouldn't want Shape coming back from holiday thinking no one cared :p It was good, though not your best. I think that's more down to being rushed as you were going away more than anything else. Good to see that Matt Hardy is actually getting some use after being split from Jeff. I think I got the better deal there, as Jeff has more star-quality and has been improving at a ridiculous rate recently, though both are good. More evil on the Melina front, keep it coming. Ugh, you used Candice -_- She can't wrestle. We have shed loads of women who can wrestle that would get a better rating than Candice despite their lack of overness. Though it was good to see Mickie James back on RAW. I knew I shouldn't have encouraged you to take advantage of Cryme Tyme's great gimmick. I should've put them down, then swooped in and brought them to Smackdown! Bah, at least you aren't anti-CT any more. I'm glad Mercury got squashed by Booker, the guy is so dull. He's only average at best in the ring, and has no entertainment value. Shelton & Booker vs The New Breed at Vengeance? I like that, and I'm not sure if you'll do the face-overcome-the-odds thing, or actually let the handicap advantage work for the New Breed. Perhaps Coach will get involved, trying to help Shelton and Booker, screw it up, then Vince says he did a good job and re-hires him...though I doubt that. Good to see Mercury get the crap beaten out of him, now you have an excuse to get rid of Mercury for a while...like permanently, for example. Though it was one of those wrestling moments where you think "what the ****?". A guy gets smacked in the back of the head with a baseball bat and is still conscious? It's sort of like when someone gets up after a couple of steel chair shots at a pay per view; still at least it's entertaining. How many people that it would be Triple H? He's out until Summerslam people, though that would have been a great moment considering the history between Triple H, Batista and Orton. I don't trust Carlito, he's definitely up to something. I don't see him signing a contract to join the New Breed though; perhaps he has a new manager? Hmm... Haas is perhaps the most technically talented jobber ever, not that I'm complaining. The guy is horribly dull, and isn't talented enough to do a "Chris Benoit". Dykstra is still a **** to me after last week though, good booking, and I'm interested to see where this whole Lilian thing goes. Why did you keep Rey's **** music? "Who's that jumping out the sky?" is soooo much better. Still, nice to see Mysterio back. For anyone who had wondered why I got Edge [> Booker], Cena [> Batista], Jeff [> Matt], Crazy [> Mercury] and Eugene [< MVP] in the draft, now you know why. It sucks that he didn't get a win on his comeback though.

Week 3 May 2007 - WWE Smackdown from the Conte Forum in Boston, Massachusetts A chaotic week on Smackdown last week saw Big Show, CM Punk and William Regal all earn entry to the King Of The Ring tournament, as well as crowning three new number one contenders, and this week looks to be equally impressive. The action will start with John Cena taking on Jamie Noble in a King Of The Ring Qualifier. Cena was brutally assaulted by Ken Kennedy at Judgment Day, and was still bearing the scars last week on Smackdown, but will he be able to overcome his injuries and progress in this prestigious tournament? Or will Jamie Noble score a famous victory? Last week Big Show beat Brian Kendrick in a Qualifier; this week their partners go at it, as Kane takes on Paul London. Kendrick and London were able to retain their WWE Tag Team Championships at Judgment Day against the giants, and both have singles victories over their monstrous opponents, but Big Show and Kane are hell-bent on revenge. Will London be able to topple the huge challenge facing him? Or will the Big Red Machine follow Big Show into the King Of The Ring? The third and final qualifier this week pits wrestling’s greatest legend against the whole f’ing show. The New World Order’s Hulk Hogan takes on Rob Van Dam, with more than a King Of The Ring place on the line. The pride of the NWO and Heyman’s Extremists is also at stake, but which will stay intact? And which will take a huge dent? Also, Paul Heyman will reveal his three-man team to face the New World Order at King Of The Ring; who will Heyman pick? Jeff Hardy earned a United States Championship shot last week, when he lost to William Regal in a King Of The Ring Qualifier, and he will face off with Chris Benoit already – in a non-title match. The Rabid Wolverine and The Charismatic Enigma go one on one in a classic time limit bout. They will have fifteen minutes to prove who is the better man, but has Chris Benoit even fully recovered from a hellacious month of matches with William Regal? Can Jeff exploit the injuries of his opponent? Or will the tenacity of Chris Benoit be too much? For the answers to all these questions and much, much more, tune in this Friday night to see Smackdown on the CW Network! Scheduled Matches: King Of The Ring Qualifier John Cena vs. Jamie Noble King Of The Ring Qualifier Kane vs. Paul London King Of The Ring Qualifier Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. Rob Van Dam Chris Benoit vs. Jeff Hardy Fifteen-Minute Time Limit PLUS: The new number one contender, Edge, will be in the arena!
