I still like Kevin Jones but until he shows a finisher more impressive than the Shane Douglas Memorial Belly to Belly I refuse to predict a win for him above anyone other than the Martins.
I have to agree with this comment, the Belly to Belly is one of the lamest looking finishers in the history of wrestling, even Hogan's (yeah he's some guy from the McMahonverse, sort of like a Sam Strong type figure) lame-0 leg-drop had more pizzazz.

Well, I've already got it sorted actually, but it might be a few months down the line before you see it, as everything is written up for the next few months already.
Gotta say the standard of shows you're putting on for a British promotion still amazes me. Just wondering if we're gonna get any of the Brand 2 wrestlers appearing on PPV in the future?
In future, yes. In the very near future, possibly not. Brand 2 was basically set up to get some shows up and running in the Midlands because I need to start upping my popularity there. I also wanted to give more wrestlers a chance to work and develop their skills. So Brand 2 is really for guys that I'm thinking could have potential for the future, but at the moment aren't the finished article. Once I'm happier with their skills, I'll move them on to PPV. Of course there are a couple of exceptions - Joey Beauchamp and Marat Khoklov could probably go on PPV straight away. But I don't really need them to at the moment. So I'm kind of keeping them in reserve. With the whole Seraphym thing, Giedroyc's reappearance and Greg Gauge returning, I felt that I had enough new blood on the main shows for now.

He and Giedroyc have had their problems since then, but the messages continued, leading fans to believe that Seraphym was just a decoy or at least not alone. Can you hea… JG: We thank you and are most grateful for your words of welcome. I feel they are sincere, but I also smell something less than pleasant. JB: I don’t know what you’re talk… JG: You can feel at ease with the Wrath of God. Believe me when I say that He does understand and sympathise if your body fails to be in total control when interviewing the Wrath of God. But at the same time He wonders if your baked bean breakfast was altogether wise given the circumstances. That said, We can give you the benefit of the doubt on just which Ring of Fire you mean to welcome us to. JB: Erm…can we get on, please? At Pyromania you have a major match – you’ll team up with JD Morgan to take on the team of Seraphym and a mystery partner. Are you ready for the match? JG: It might be a mystery to you, but not to the Wrath of God. For He sees all - including what you did yesterday with that pepper mill. JB: Ahem...do you mind telling us who it is then? JG: That would spoil the surprise and defeat the object of a mystery person match. JB: So you don’t know who it is then. But are you and JD ready? And why did you choose JD as a partner? JG: In a parallel universe, JD Morgan may well be an old dirty bastard sucking on a big fat Cuban. In another parallel universe JD Morgan might well be playing one part of a Youngman’s triad. But in this universe, JD Morgan is a man that He says can be trusted. Plus, he was free and available. And has already done his Christmas shopping. JB: And what about your opponents. You’ve had some major problems with Seraphym, starting back at King of the Ring when you eliminated him from the match, only for him to come back down and at least partially cause your elimination. Then at Light Up The Night, you did beat him in singles competition. But at Napalm Nightmare, Seraphym spoiled your chances of reaching the Pyromania main event. Do you feel you owe him? JG: Seraphym, Seraphym. Let me tell you about Seraphym. You see, he has an aura about him, but We know different. We know that behind the cheap Halloween facepaint there is a poor, troubled soul. When he goes home after a day at the wrestling, his Mum has his tea ready and he does not even say Grace before he gobbles it up ungratefully. He goes up to his room and plays with his He-Man action figure, sadly knowing that he can never aspire to play the role of the hero. As he brushes his teeth, a tear rolls slowly down his cheek as he considers the fact that he cannot even spell the word seraphim. And as he picks his way across his magazine and tissue-strewn carpet, he climbs into bed, leaving a night-light on, and dreams about the day he could actually face the Wrath of God and survive. He wakes and realises that a dream is all it is. JB: But he does seem to have a partner. And at this moment nobody is sure who that is. JG: For Seraphym to have a partner will be unusual for him. It normally would take Divine intervention, or a week’s wages, for Seraphym to have a partner, but He assures me that is not the case on this occasion. So Seraphym’s partner is obviously a fraudulent trickster, a man masquerading as something he is not, a man who deserves nothing more than to feel the Wrath of God. And that he shall. The Wrath of God, with some assistance from JD Morgan, will smite both of their make-up-wearing, psalm-quoting, face-blackening, Skeletor-wannabe asses into the fires of hell. It shall be done! JB: So, is the Wra… JG: No more questions. ROF Tag Team Titles 4-way Elimination match The Show Stealers © vs Can-Am SAS vs Injustice vs Warriors of Honour Showstealers title reign has only just hit the ground running so I can see them retaining here, but there seems to be alot more parity in the tag division now, and any four of the teams could realistically come away with the tag straps Kevin Jones vs Walter Morgan Morgan needs the win more than Jones, to get back some respectability as a main event level talent. Jones has been a solid addition since coming into ROF but he's unlikely to ever reach Main Event status ROF Talisman Title 4-way Elimination match Hugh de Aske © vs Don Henderson vs Greg Gauge vs Nigel Svensson I think at least one of these 4-ways will see a title change and I have a feeling it will be this one, Henderson's has had enough reigns with the Talisman strap, so it leaves Gauge and Svensson. I'm not sure if Svensson has enough momentum behind him just yet, so I will pick Greg Gauge. Jack Giedroyc & JD Morgan vs Seraphym & ??? I'll go with the DAVE gang but with the unknown quantity of Seraphyms partner it could go either way. It wouldn't surprise me if Seraphym's partner is Jonathan Faust, and Seraphym is just some acolyte of Faust. ROF Championship 4-way Elimination match Rolling Johnny Stones © vs Billy Robinson vs Merle O’Curle vs UK Dragon In my opinion there are only two choices....the reigning champion Stones or O'Curle (to win the belt for a third time). Dragon's status in ROF is a little uncertain and though he has improved, the fans would probably riot if Robinson won (apart from his No.1 fan Danny Demon)

ROF Pyromania – December 2010 ROF Tag Team Titles 4-way Elimination match The Show Stealers © vs Can-Am SAS vs Injustice vs Warriors of Honour - 4 Ways are good for the hotshotting of belts, therefore for storyline reasons (and to give the division another shake-up to make it unpredictable) I think Injustice steals the belts. Kevin Jones vs Walter Morgan - Kevin, you still using the Shane Douglas Memorial Belly to Belly as your alleged finisher? You are? Ok... that made this call much easier. ROF Talisman Title 4-way Elimination match Hugh de Aske © vs Don Henderson vs Greg Gauge vs Nigel Svensson - Reasoning the same as above and I think building a rivalry between de Aske and Svensson sounds like a dandy idea. Henderson might have almost outgrown the Talisman and Gauge... well no one knows how long he'll be around before latching on to a larger federation. Jack Giedroyc & JD Morgan vs Seraphym & ??? - This had better be Puffy the Psalm Irish Prayer or I'm gonna revolt! Realistically whomever debuts needs to do so with a win otherwise the months of internet hijinx have been for naught and he becomes someone to be inducted into WrestleCrap. (Which if you'd read the email I sent Marcel about Marat recently you'd all accept there's a hallway dedicated to my ideas in the Masoleum o' WrestleCrap.) ROF Championship 4-way Elimination match Rolling Johnny Stones © vs Billy Robinson vs Merle O’Curle vs UK Dragon - Sorry Danny but Billy's not quite ready to hold the title and giving it to Dragon could require it to get removed from him in a hurry. O'Curle takes a title and then locks it away for a year or so but then seems to take as long to reclaim it. Plus I think Stones needs to solidify his status as a real RoF champ and so far he's been putting on great matches at the top of the card, therefore he retains.

Of all the performance stats, psychology seems the hardest to raise. Selling, consistency etc seem to rise reasonably well, but psychology is tough. There's Billy, Walter Morgan and both DuPont twins who fall into the category of good to great technicians who don't have such great psychology. Probably why Billy and Walter are floating around the upper card and main event - bit too good for Talisman, not quite good enough (perhaps) for the main title. By the way, thanks to all for predictions. Just got in at 12.15 at night British time after a very long day, and it's gratifying to find so many messages in reply. Am very busy next couple of days, but will try to get the next newsletter (and end of year report, roster list etc) up in that time. Oh and 'pox...glad you're not too offended by my take on the Wrath of God. I had to try him in an interview sooner rather than later. :)

I talked about how one or more of the companies might end up in financial difficulties. Unfortunately it appears I was proved right. 21CW are a promotion in crisis. Jeff Nova’s vision now seems to have turned into something of a nightmare. They have been a consistent presence on TV for over four years now, and have been producing regular PPV events for at least half that time. But although things might seem fine and dandy on the surface, underneath there is a maelstrom of financial difficulties and debt spiralling out of control. The first signs of trouble came earlier in the year when a leaked memo suggested the company had made losses of over 1 million in a 12 month period. Since then the company released a clutch of lower card workers, but has since continued to struggle. It is believed the banks could be ready to pull the plug on 21CW any time now. However, 21CW are not the only ones finding life tough. Last year we neglected to mention UCR – the European promotion that is high on family entertainment. They have made huge inroads into the UK as well as mainland Europe in the past few years and are almost as popular as 21CW on these shores despite a lack of television presence. However, they are also staring down the financial barrel. Although they are not thought to be on life-support to the extent of 21CW, it will take a major turnaround in fortunes for them to escape the same likely fate. They also released a batch of workers in the middle of 2010 but little has changed. ROF would appear to have managed to avoid the pitfalls – thus far, at least. The promotion that relies on in-ring skill has been, by all accounts, losing money as well, but not at the rate of its competitors and in a way that is being controlled. They are evidently trying to expand and develop workers for the future, as their opening of the 2nd ROF brand ‘Mark 2’ would suggest. They have a large roster that could easily be trimmed should they reach a period of sustained financial problems. But for the moment they seem to be on the up and up – their major shows have been shown on PPV for the past 8 months and their popularity across the UK is on the increase. MOSC are coining it. They have struck a successful formula that is enabling them to keep fans satisfied up in the North and in Scotland, whilst giving the Highland Warrior a nice nest-egg for early retirement, should he wish to hand the reigns over to son Jeffery any time soon. MOSC don’t look like they are keen to expand much further, but then if it ain’t broke… So where will we be in 12 months time in British wrestling? Unless they make major errors, it would appear ROF are safe and are likely to take over as the number one wrestling company in the UK, if not in Europe. 21CW and UCR may do well to simply survive the next 12 months. Unless major changes are made, they won’t. And then where will that leave UK fans who like their wrestling to have an entertainment edge attached?
