Actually guys, it can't be Darryl Devine, he left for SWF after my last show, that was just a one time thing before he went to the big time. It is pretty much four choices if you read the preview to the match, Parker's partner Ricky Douglas, either member of Natural Storm, or Parker gets the pinfall in the match himself and earns the night off.

Decided to take time to check this one out and I'm liking whats going on so far. Bringing in Devine for the one-time appearance was nice move (it's the sort of thing that would definately happen for real) and whilst Antonio wouldn't have been my personal choice to win the tournament and the smart-mark in me would feel that you are over-pushing him , it certainly keeps things interesting....nothing like a bit of controversy. Predictions: Mid Atlantic Championship: Steven Parker vs. Eddie Howard Parker ain't dropping his title just yet. Mid Atlantic Tag Team: Natural Storm vs. The A* Alliance Eddie Howard gets the pin on Parker and faces him for the Mid Atlantic Championship. Mainstream Hernandez vs. Antonio I can see this being the sort of feud that will go on for a few months where Antonio keeps getting the better of Hernandez, via nefarious means until Hernandez beats him in some sort of stipulation match (cage ?) to end the feud. Kashmir Singh vs. The Mean Machine Cattley (Mean Machine) might not be in the title picture right now, but he's one of the cornerstones of the promotion. Singh is an up and comer but I don't think the fans would buy into Singh going over Cattley at this stage. Erik Strong vs. Trent Shaffer Could go either way, but I'll tip Shaffer to pull off the debut victory. Strong is the sort of young up and comer who's reputation wont be hurt right now, if he puts over the new-boy. Stan Manna vs. Des Davids Davids looks like he is gradually being groomed for a future push, where-as Manna just looks a semi novelty-act with his Rock-Star gimmick that will be permantly stuck in the lower-mid card of MAW.
Glad to have you aboard, just like everyone else that is reading this so far. It makes me happy that I switched to CornellVerse writing from real world. There are just so many more possibilities on what I can do. But onto the Antonio thing, the controversy is what I was shooting for. I think it would leave the fans thinking, Antonio just won this tournament because he's in tight with Rip Chord. And that would create some heel heat for him because the fans usually don't like when someone in power does whatever they can to help the cause of a heel.

Tonight's Mid Atlantic Wrestling event, Red Alert will be a very special event, because to kick off the event in the middle of the ring MAW Owner Rip Chord will present his protoge, and the man he helped capture the tournament named after himself, Antonio, with the Rip Chord Invitational Tournament trophy. This momentous occasion will be followed up with some great action, kicked off with the tag team championship match, and even possibly a Mid Atlantic Championship match to cap the night off, so be sure to be in attendance, it's gonna be a wild ride. Mid Atlantic Wrestling Red Alert Saturday, February Week 4, 2007 Live from Stanley Hall Attendance: 47 For the second straight MAW show, Rip Chord starts off the event heading out to the ring. This week though he received a much colder response from the crowd, as the majority of them were in attendance to see him screw Mainstream Hernandez out of repeating in the tournament. Waiting for him in the middle of the ring is the trophy named after him, and he requests a microphone, ready for the official crowning of the tournament winner. Rip Chord Ladies and Gentlemen, last month you all witnessed a run of epic proportions through my tournament, and it was performed by a superior professional wrestler. This man isn’t more worried about how he looks than how he gets the job done in the ring. He’s a no nonsense young man, that’s why I’ve taken him under my wing, and have brought it upon myself to make sure that he succeeds. So without further adu, the 2007 Rip Chord Invitational Winner, and the man that will beat Mainstream Hernandez for the third straight time tonight, Antonio! Antonio then makes his way out to the ring, where he meets his mentor in the middle of the ring, and the two shake hands as Rip hands Antonio the trophy. Antonio then raises the trophy high above his head, and right when that happens the music of Mainstream Hernandez hits, and all forty-seven fans in Stanley Hall rise up to their feet. Mainstream Hernandez I hate to break up this love fest that is going on in the ring, but I have to get something off my chest. Last month, as you all know, Antonio beat me 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring, not once, but twice. Granted he had to cheat both times to do so, but the little man did it. Now I had to ask myself, who’s to blame for this. Myself? Nah, I couldn’t have seen it coming. Antonio? Nah, he did what he had to do to get the job done. Then it dawned on me, the man behind Antonio’s little run to the finals is the man in charge of this company, Rip Chord. Rip then looks on, perplexed at what Mainstream Hernandez is saying, and he starts to raise his microphone up before Mainstream can cut him off again. Mainstream Hernandez So here’s what I’m saying, tonight, I’m going to go through Antonio like I was going to do twice last month, then it’s on to you Rip. You better coach your boy up good tonight, because once I’m done with him it’s on to you. Just thought I’d leave you with that parting thought, I’ve got a match to get ready for, I’ll see you later in that ring there champ. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mid Atlantic Tag Team Championship Natural Storm © vs. The A* Alliance All four men came into this match wanting to get the pinfall, and it seemed that the fact that the tag titles were up was almost a secondary story. The ref signaled for the bell and Steven Parker fought like a man possessed so he did not have to defend his title later in the night. The A* Alliance dominated most of the match, and once Ricky Douglas had a easy pin to win the Tag Team Titles, but Steven Parker broke it up, showing that he cared more about the night off than the tag titles. Eddie Howard then threw Parker out of the ring, and Natural Storm then hit Storm Damage on Ricky Douglas, and both men pinned him and got the three count. There was confusion for a moment, until the referee explained that D.C. Rayne was the legal man in the match, and therefore, it would be Steven Parker vs. D.C. Rayne for the Mid Atlantic Championship later in the night. Winners: Natural Storm Match Time: 13:19 Match Rating: D- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erik Strong vs. Trent Shaffer This match saw the debut of Trent Shaffer, and it was against a man that is nearly identical to him not only in looks, but also with his in-ring abilities. The two men started the match off with by trading some technical holds, but their true colors started to shine through in a short amount of time as they both started flying around the ring hitting high risk move after high risk move. The finish came after Erik Strong attempted a flying cross body, but Shaffer was able to move out of the way, and Strong crashed into the mat. Shaffer then headed to the second rope and hit a blockbuster on the groggy Strong, a move he calls the Heart Burn, and the match was over three short seconds later. Winner: Trent Shaffer Match Time: 10:26 Match Rating: D ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Des Davids vs. Stan Manna Stan Manna came into this match confident as usual, but it was quickly wiped away after Des Davids ran of Stan the Man with the first clothesline of many. Davids was relentless in his attack of Stan Manna, and it looked like he was going to put Manna away on a couple of occasions, but Manna showed a little bit of heart by kicking out of an assortment of powerslams and suplexes from Davids. He even fought back for a little while, and in an uncharacteristic Stan Manna move, he headed to the top rope. He then leaped off trying for a double axe handle on the former football star, but he was caught with a spear out of midair, and the three count was academic from there. Winner: Des Davids Match Time: 6:36 Match Rating: D ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The music of The Mean Machine then hit over the speakers, and the first ever Mid Atlantic Champion made his way out to the ring for his match with new MAW wrestler, Kashmir Singh. Before his match though, Mean Machine had something to say to the wrestlers of MAW. The Mean Machine There has been a lot of controversy floating around last month’s Rip Chord Invitational, and it seems everything lately has been Antonio this, Mainstream that. Well let me all give you a little refresher course. I was the first champion in this promotion. Ever since this place has opened it’s doors, I have dominated all my competition. I have carried this company from the time it could only bring twenty people in for events. It’s because of me this company has grown to where it is, and it will be because of me when it grows even farther. And for that to happen I’m gonna need that Mid Atlantic Championship back, and expect that to happen sooner than later. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kashmir Singh vs. The Mean Machine Last month’s Rip Chord Invitational not only saw The Mean Machine fall to Antonio, but it saw Kashmir Singh make a very dominate debut, and he looked to keep the momentum rolling this month, but he had to face off with possibly MAW’s greatest wrestler ever. The two men traded blows early, but soon after it turned into more of a technical showcase, something that The Mean Machine thought would play into his hand. He was surprised though when Singh was able to match him move for move…well almost move for move. Kashmir Singh went for a suplex on The Mean Machine, but he fell behind Singh and waited for him to turn, and when he did he met Singh with the Mood Swing for the victory. Winner: The Mean Machine Match Time: 10:36 Match Rating: D+ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mainstream Hernandez vs. Antonio w/ Rip Chord The two men had a staredown before the match, but Mainstream Hernandez was extremely heated and opened up with a flurry of offense on Antonio. Usually Mainstream is all about wrestling moves and high flying, but tonight he was just laying the bricks to Antonio. Whenever Antonio would hit the mat, Mainstream would kick him while he was down. Thanks to a little distraction from Chord, Antonio was able to gain the upper hand, and he started working over Hernandez’s legs to slow down his potential high flying arsenal. Antonio dominated the action for several more minutes, then he sat up for the Italian DDT, but Mainstream rolled out of the front facelock, then leveled Antonio with a Superkick, and then got the pinfall victory over Antonio, gaining a small level of revenge. Winner: Mainstream Hernandez Match Time: 13:53 Match Rating: C- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Mainstream started walking towards the back Rip Chord grabbed a microphone and had something to say to Mainstream before he got out of the arena. Rip Chord Bravo Mainstream, you have beaten Antonio once, but need I remind you, Antonio beat you twice in one night last month. So I believe that still puts Antonio up in this little riff. So here’s what I propose. If you want a piece of me so bad, your gonna have to earn it. So next month, we are going to have a match to settle the score between you two. It will be Mainstream Hernandez taking on Antonio in a TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS MATCH. And Mainstream, if by some miracle you beat Antonio in that match, the following month you can have me in a match, no questions asked. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mid Atlantic Championship Steven Parker © vs. D.C. Rayne Both men came out on their own for this huge title match, and it had a big fight feel as there were boxing style introductions before the match. The two men tried to get a feel for each other to start the match off, but neither man was eager to make the first move of the match. D.C. Rayne finally had enough and went after Parker, but the champion was ready and took him down with a knee to the gut. Parker then controlled the match for the next few minutes, locking in a variety of sleepers and wear down moves on Rayne, trying to drain the energy out of the challenger in his second match of the night. Parker got Rayne up and tried to hit the Future Shock, but the challenger was having none of it and went on the offensive. As he slugged Parker around the ring the crowd was behind Rayne, and thought they might get to see the first ever double champion in the history of Mid Atlantic Wrestling. Rayne then tried to powerbomb Parker, but he turned it into a DDT while in the air, then waited as Rayne slowly got to his feet. When he finally did, Parker got Rayne up on his shoulders and nailed him with the Future Shock, and that added another successful defense to his championship reign. Winner: Steven Parker Match Time: 12:37 Match Rating: C- OVERALL RATING: D+ This show raised MAW to Small size.
