Mid Atlantic Wrestling Freefall Saturday, August Week 4, 2007 Live from Stanley Hall Attendance: 102 Fox Mask vs. Max Mayhem The one hundred and three people in attendance for MAW Freefall gave Fox Mask a standing ovation as they all have seen his great work in CZCW, and were pleased that he had fallen into the hands of Mid Atlantic Wrestling. This matchup was very quickly paced with Fox Mask confusing Mayhem with his hectic quick hitting offense. He was hitting dropkicks like a crazy man at one point, then took him down with a missile dropkick from the top. He then waited for Mayhem to get to his feet, and when he did he hit him with his version of the stunner, the Fox Hunter for his debut victory in MAW. Winner: Fox Mask Match Time: 8:31 Match Rating: D- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mid Atlantic Tag Team Championship Natural Storm vs. Aerial Assault The crowd was torn on who to cheer for in this match, but ultimately they decided on the exciting young team of Erik Strong and Trent Shaffer, and Natural Storm was visibly upset by this. They used their superior strength to wear down the high flyers, and it looked early like this match would be no contest for Natural Storm. After some more isolation the crowd starting chanting for Aerial Assault, and D.C. Rayne started telling the fans to shut up, which angered his partner Eddie Howard. The two had a shouting match with each other, then Howard turned to get back to the action, but then he was blindsided by his own partner, who took him down and just left the ring. Strong and Shaffer then hit the legdrop and Strong Sault combo, and in a shocking twist MAW had a new set of tag team champions. Winners and NEW Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champions: Aerial Assault Match Time: 9:54 Match Rating: D ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before his final encounter with Des Davids, The Mean Machine made his way out to the ring with a microphone, ready to cut yet another promo on his fierce rival. The Mean Machine Each and every month for quite some time I’ve been taking on Des Davids. He has been a fierce competitor, no doubt, but let’s face it, he’s no Mean Machine. Sure he has a bright future ahead of him, but his future does not involve beating me, and tonight I’ll put this little squabble to rest, and let’s just say I’ll be watching tonight’s main event very closely with contract in hand, because hey, you never know. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Des Davids vs. The Mean Machine These two men have fought in numerous matches over the last months, and it seems as if they just trade wins back and forth. Both men have stated that this would be the final encounter though, and the fans were very into the match, looking forward to who would get the last laugh. Machine controlled the pace of much of the match with moves that wore down the big man, hopefully taking away a lot of the great power that he possesses. Things started to turn around for Davids eventually, and he started hitting some strong moves on Machine. Machine fought back though and had Davids set up for the Mood Swing, but he escaped with an elbow to the head, then bounced off the ropes and caught Machine with the Quarterback Sack, getting the enormous win that could springboard his career to the next level. Winner: Des Davids Match Time: 14:44 Match Rating: D+ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicole Kiss then makes her way out to the ring, and she receives a warm reception as usual before she takes the microphone for a special announcement. Nicole Kiss How are you all doing tonight? Well I’m doing pretty good now that I’ve gotten some news. Mr. Chord has appointed me his special assistant, so if the boss has an announcement to make, I’ll be the one telling you all about it. And now for the first announcement in my new job. After the events in the tag title match tonight, next month right here at Stanley Hall we will see the former tag team champions Natural Storm face off one-on-one in this very ring. So buy your tickets tonight, because it’s gonna be D.C. Rayne vs. Eddie Howard for the first time in MAW history. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kashmir Singh vs. Davis Newton This match featured two young up and comers on the Mid Atlantic Wrestling scene, and everybody knew it was just a matter of time before they had to face off to find out who the more promising prospect was. They got face to face in the middle of the ring, and the fireworks started right there as they traded Japanese style open handed slaps to the face, then that turned into blows. Singh used his strength to gain the advantage on Newton, which he did not relinquish the rest of the match. He used his mixture of power and technique to get to the point where he had Newton set up for his Running Powerslam, but Newton slipped out from behind and rolled up Singh and got the three count. Winner: Davis Newton Match Time: 10:31 Match Rating: D+ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The crew came out and set up some ladders at ringside, which meant the huge main event was up next. Mainstream Hernandez came out without his newly won title and looked at it hanging from the ceiling, then requested a microphone before Steven Parker came out to the ring. Mainstream Hernandez Last month you all witnessed the greatest moment of my life, winning the Mid Atlantic Championship. Now I only got to hold onto that title for about a minute before Steven Parker took me out from behind and hung my title from the ceiling. Well I’ll be damned if I let that no good brat just climb up that ladder and take what I worked so hard to win. So Parker, I know you are listening, get out here right now, I don’t feel like waiting to give you the beating we all know you deserve. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mid Atlantic Championship Ladder Match Mainstream Hernandez vs. Steven Parker The crowd was absolutely electric for this huge matchup, and the two men in the match did not disappoint in the least. They brawled all around the ring before Mainstream turned to his crash and burn offensive style, which started with a plancha dive onto Parker who was trying to get a ladder from the floor. Mainstream then took the ladder into the ring, where he started to scale it as Parker got up on the ring apron. Instead of going for the title he leaped off the ladder and delivered a dropkick to Parker, knocking him out of the ring. Mainstream then got a smile on his face as he saw Parker laying on the floor. He then headed to the apron, got a run at it and did a Shooting Star Press off the apron, but Parker moved and Mainstream hit nothing but concrete. Parker then got into the ring and was so close to grabbing the title, but Mainstream made his way into the ring and Superkicked the ladder, sending Parker crashing to the floor. Hernandez then set up the ladder again, scaled it and grabbed his title for his first successful title defense. Winner and STILL Mid Atlantic Champion: Mainstream Hernandez Match Time: 15:33 Match Rating: B- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Much like last month, Mainstream Hernandez was celebrating in the ring, and the fans were going crazy. This time was different though, he was attacked from behind by Steven Parker, he was attacked from behind by the title contract holder, The Mean Machine. Machine knocked him around the ring, busting Mainstream wide open. Machine then grabbed a microphone from ringside. The Mean Machine If I was a man of less honor, I would cash in my title contract right here, right now. But I’m not going to start my second title reign that way. I’m waiting until our biggest event of the year, Where It All Begins Again. But that’s still two months away, which leaves next month’s event, Settling the Score wide open on both our calendars. So I’ve decided that we’ll have a little pick your poison. We will both let it be known in the media before the event who we face, and here’s a little heads up, yours is going to be for the championship that you are just warming for me. FINAL RATING: C

MAW News Brief Huge news is coming out of the Supreme Wrestling Federation, as they fell to cult size and are lagging behind TCW in this horrible economy and all time low interest in wrestling. Because of those factors SWF has relinquished Sam Keith's booking privileges in hopes of bringing the winds of change into this battle of the titans. They announced just days later the job has been filled by Farrah Hesketh, shocking many in the wrestling industry. We will see if she can take SWF to a global audience and the top of the wrestling scene. Coastal Combat Zone Wrestling has been doing very well for themselves in this time of low interest in wrestling, and they can now be considered a regional promotion. Upon reaching this milestone they offered contracts to MAW wrestlers Davis Newton and Des Davids, which both quickly accepted. They will keep their jobs at MAW, and their schedules should not conflict. CZCW followed these signings up the next day by inking the man who quit USPW, then signed with SWF, then got fired, the man of mystery himself, Jim Force. With all these changes in employers it's getting hard for the presses to keep updated Force Merchandise on the shelves. In Mid Atlantic Wrestling, Rip Chord continues to surround himself with close personal allies. He already has The Mean Machine on his side, and his protoge Antonio is also in MAW. Well it seems that Chord has a second protoge under his wing, that man being the newest MAW signee, Casey Valentine. Expect to see him debut soon. Many are waiting for the day though that Chord's biggest protoge, his own son Jay, enters the wrestling world. That day could be a turning point for MAW, so be ready when Jay announces that he's ready for competition.

MAW Settling the Score Live From Stanley Hall Saturday, September Week 4, 2007 Mid Atlantic Championship Mainstream Hernandez vs. Stan "The Man" Manna This serves as The Mean Machine's pick on who to face Mainstream Hernandez in his half of the pick your poison matches. This match is for the championship, and smart money has Mainstream coming out on top, but with The Mean Machine lurking around every corner, you can't be sure he won't intervene and cash his contract in on a lesser foe in Stan Manna at next MAW's premier event next month. Kashmir Singh vs. The Mean Machine These two men have fought in the past, and Singh took Machine to limits that very few men have taken him to before. This seems to be a very smart pick by Hernandez for Singh to face Machine, and you have to keep your eyes open for an upset here as Singh is much improved since their last meeting. Eddie Howard vs. D.C. Rayne These two men were the greatest tag team MAW has ever seen. But after the fans seemed to turn on them last week D.C. Rayne followed suit and stabbed his partner in the back, costing them the Tag Team gold to Aerial Assault. And now per orders of Rip Chord they will face off in a MAW ring for the very first time in what promises to be a explosive encounter. Casey Valentine (MAW Debut) vs. Antonio These two men are in a position of power as they are both protoges of Rip Chord. Chord had something to do with making this match as he states that he wants to see how the eighteen year old Valentine measures up with a man that he knows very well, Antonio. He also stated that he wanted to show the MAW fans what true wrestling was, because as he says, they were trained by the best. Trent Shaffer vs. Mark Smart One half of the new tag team champions, Aerial Assault, goes solo tonight as Erik Strong is back home preparing for the biggest event of the year next month. Shaffer has shown through his action all across the world that he can get it done by himself as well as a tag team, and tonight he faces one of the few men that can match his aerial ability, the lightning fast Mark Smart.
Quick Pick Guide: Mid Atlantic Championship: Mainstream Hernandez (c) vs. Stan Manna Kashmir Singh vs. The Mean Machine Eddie Howard vs. D.C. Rayne Casey Valentine vs. Antonio Trent Shaffer vs. Mark Smart

As you can tell by the card, I am trying to save a little money before my biggest event of the year. I've yet to turn a profit, but I'm down to losing only hundreds a month, so hopefully saving some money this month will let me bring out every star for our biggest event of the year and thus come close to breaking even over the two month span. Mid Atlantic Championship: Mainstream Hernandez (c) vs. Stan Manna The way you explained it in your preview , Mean Machine picking a jobber like Manna makes sense and he will try to interfere in the match. But his interference will fail and he will have to face Mainstream for the Championship. Kashmir Singh vs. The Mean Machine Mean Machine lost last month to Des Davids, anymore losses and the fans won't be buying into him as a legitimate challenger. Eddie Howard vs. D.C. Rayne Logic says that the heel takes the first victory in a tag team that has just broken up feud. I must admit I was one of those 'fan's' giving them 'X-PAC Heat' ;) Casey Valentine vs. Antonio Valentine's not a Davis Wayne Newton style super-rookie and is more of a development project, and seeing as DWM did not win on his debut, Valentine won't be either Trent Shaffer vs. Mark Smart Easy win for the newly crowned tag champ over one of the most gormless looking people in the entire Cornellverse. Hernandez watched on from the entrance area, and he saw the man he picked to face Machine work him over with some great technical holds for the first few minutes, but then the veteran wrestling ability of The Machine started shining through, and he gained the decisive advantage over Singh. Machine locked Singh in for the Mood Swing, and before he dropped the big man onto his back he pointed at Hernandez, symbolizing that it was for him, then he got the victory, gaining momentum heading into his title shot next month at Where It All Begins Again. Winner: The Mean Machine Match Time: 15:42 Match Rating: D+ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Mainstream Hernandez starts to walk off, but before he can The Mean Machine captures the microphone from ringside and decides to let the champion know what is on his mind. This match was between two lightning quick wrestlers, and if you blinked there is a real possibility you would miss a move from one of the two men. Mark Smart looked rather impressive despite not having a match in months, but there was no way that Trent Shaffer was going to let the smaller man beat him one month after he won his first championship gold in MAW. He spiked Strong to the mat with a DDT, then headed up top and hit the legdrop off the top for the victory. Rayne Rayne made his way out to the ring, and the former partners got nose to nose, then Rayne shoved Howard in the face, which just succeeded in angering his former partner as he came flying back at Rayne with a huge clothesline almost turning him inside out. Howard then used his brute strength to dominate Rayne for the next several minutes, but Rayne eventually fought back. They traded back and forth action for the rest of the match until Howard had Rayne tied up at the ropes, and when the referee went to break it up Rayne raised his leg, hitting Howard right between the legs. He then dropped down and pinned his former partner, gaining the pinfall victory. Winner: D.C. Antonio dominated the early action with his impressive technical arsenal. Antonio was having things go his way rather easily, and then Rip Chord himself made his way out to the ring to watch his two young protoges. Antonio continued to dominate, but it could be seen that Rip Chord slipped something into the hands of Casey Valentine when he was leaning up against the ropes, and then Antonio set up for the Italian DDT, but Valentine punched him in the ribs, dropping him in a heap. Valentine then slipped off what looked to be brass knuckles off his hand and threw them back to Chord. He then forced Antonio up and hit his own version of a Rip Chord like DDT and he debuted with a win over the RCI winner, and after the match Antonio gave a shocked look as Valentine walked down the aisle as Rip Chord looked back and laughed at man he trained. Manna came flying out of the gate and locked in some technical holds on Hernandez, but each and every time Hernandez would slip out of the hold and hit a quick punch or kick on the challenger. Hernandez then decided to get in the drivers seat and started hitting kicks to Manna, then nailed a huge enzuguri. He then headed up top, but before he jumped The Mean Machine headed out. This distraction allowed Manna to grab Hernandez and throw him off the top rope. Manna then looked to capitalize with a bodyslam, but Hernandez slipped behind and nailed Manna with the Superkick for a successful title defense. MAW Newswire There is huge news coming out of Japan, and it has a direct effect on Mid Atlantic Wrestling's biggest event of the year, Where It All Begins Again. At Where It All Begins Again he is cashing in that title privilege. Over the past few events these two men have engaged in staredowns and Mean Machine has even busted open the champion. Will Mainstream get some sort of revenge or will The Mean Machine walk out as the first two time champion in the history of the Mid Atlantic Title? Burning EXILE vs. Steven Parker With the news of WEXXV going out of business this month that left Burning EXILE looking for a promotion to wrestle for. MAW came calling, and he has accepted a contract to wrestle at MAW's biggest event, against arguably their biggest star, Steven Parker. Mid Atlantic Championship: Mainstream Hernandez (c) vs. The Mean Machine Hmmm... I'm hoping for another Mean Machine era, although it's still early. Whatever, this is more a mark pick than a reason pick. :) Burning EXILE vs. Steven Parker Parker wins or it's going to be a draw. Either way, EXILE can't win this one. Fox Mask vs. Davis Newton I think this'll get Fox Mask into the title picture if he wins. On the other hand, that could be the case for Newton as well. Mid Atlantic Tag Team: Aerial Assault (c) vs. The Canadian Blondes Too soon for them to lose the titles. It may end in a draw as well though. Des Davids vs. Casey Valentine Else making Mean Machine lose to him two shows ago was for nothing. Antonio vs. D.C. Rayne Depends what your long term plans are. I think Rayne's next for a push and Antonio will lose because of Rip interfering or something like that.

I sentiment DWW's and Midnightnick's views that this a tough event to pick Mid Atlantic Championship: Mainstream Hernandez (c) vs. The Mean Machine Whilst another Mean Machine title run could be interesting, I'll err on the side of it being too early on in Mainstream's title run for him to drop the belt already. Burning EXILE vs. Steven Parker - DRAW It's been alluded to possibly happen already, but I'm going to call it, this one ends a draw. Fox Mask vs. Davis Newton Losing to an Indy veteran like Fox Mask, isn't going to hurt Newton's momentum at this stage in his career Mid Atlantic Tag Team: Aerial Assault (c) vs. The Canadian Blondes Aerial Assault will retain, then move onto facing someone else. I just don't buy the Blondes as championship material. Des Davids vs. Casey Valentine Whilst there's the possibility Valentine could cheat with the help of Rip Chord (by the way great swerve with is character, as I'm sure everyone would think he'd come in as a plucky babyface) but as someone said all the build up you've been giving David's with the big wins over Mean Machine, would be for nought if he loses to Valentine. Antonio vs. D.C. Rayne The suddenly down on his luck and friendless Antonio continues his losing streak against D.C Rayne, who already looks more interesting as a singles competitor or more specifically as a heel.
