Round 1: Trent Shaffer vs. The Mean Machine As someone said if your champion goes out in the first round it makes your main title look weak Round 1: Des Davids vs. D.C. Rayne Davids has built himself up to be in and around the main event, where-as despite the heel change Rayne is still nothing more than a mid-carder Round 1: Antonio vs. Davis Newton Antonio might have been last years winner, but here without the help of Rip Chord, he will be heading out in the first round to the rising star Davis Newton Round 1: Mainstream Hernandez vs. Steven Parker Mainstream normally does well in these tournaments and he'll get the better of the former long reigning MAW champ who now seems to be on something of a downturn heading into 2008. Round 2: The Mean Machine vs. Des Davids Davids seems to be a problem opponent for the Mean Machine, and I'll predict he'll continue to be a thorn in Mr Cattley's side by knocking the MAW champion out in the semi's. Round 2: Davis Newton vs. Mainstream Hernandez I get the feeling that you're gradually building Newton towards the top, rather than hot-shotting him, so I think his run will come to an end against an established main eventer in Mainstream. Finals: Des Davids vs. Mainstream Hernandez Mainstream goes one better than last year by winning the RCI, and with Davids pinning the Mean Machine in the semi's, this would set up a three way feud.

Trent Shaffer agreed to disagree with that statement and provided Machine with several stiff kicks to the midsection and head during the match. Machine was back on his heels, not expecting this kind of offense from Shaffer, and it looked like the champion may be upset in the first round….that is until Machine caught Shaffer up under the shoulder and buried him with the Mood Swing to advance to the second round. Rayne D.C. Rayne, who hasn’t had much success since splitting with his partner Eddie Howard was looking for a change of fortune here at the Rip Chord Invitational. Well, somebody must have forgot to deliver the memo to Rayne, because he was standing right on the tracks when the train known as Des Davids came rolling in. Davids ran Rayne over on every occasion he got, and looked to make a statement with the man that has held MAW Tag Team gold for more than a year in his career. Davids stalked Rayne when he was down, then nailed him with the Quarterback Sack, and Davids was rolling into the second round, where he will meet his archrival, The Mean Machine. Something did not seem right in the match as whenever the two men would get rolling something awkward would happen and kill the momentum of the match, not allowing the fans to get into it as much as they like. It seemed that the two men were planning on going longer, but pulled the plug on it after they realized they had no chemistry what so ever and the finish came with Antonio nailing Davis Newton with the Italian DDT, and Antonio was advancing to the second round yet again this year. Mainstream Hernandez I would like to welcome this record crowd out to Stanley Hall tonight, and let me tell you, you picked the right night to come out and catch some MAW action. This man I’m facing next…well…let’s just say I’m not his biggest fan. But I must admit, everytime we step in the ring together we tear the house down, so Steven, get out here and let’s do this thing one more time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before Steven Parker comes out Mainstream is cut off by the music of Rip Chord’s special assistant, Nicole Kiss. She makes her way to the ring and has something to say before this match starts. Nicole Kiss What’s up guys? I was just handed a special announcement from Mr. Chord. It seems that our February show, Red Alert is all about fan interaction. So let’s get this started, I’m going to draw one ticket number out of this bag, and that person will have a very special choice regarding Red Alert. And the number is…….131! Who ever has ticket number 131, please stand up and I have a very important choice for you to make. A man sitting in the second row jumps up in excitement about winning this drawing, and Nicole makes her way over to him and puts her arm around him, then asks him the big question. Nicole Kiss Hey, so this is the man with the most power in this building tonight. I’ve gotta know, what’s your name? Drawing Winner My friend’s call me D-Mack! Nicole Kiss Well D-Mack, nice to meet you. But your probably wondering what your big decision is, huh? Well I’ll tell you right now. We have an open main event for Red Alert, and Mr. Chord has given me the green light for you to name who will face The Mean Machine for the Mid Atlantic Championship right here in Stanley Hall. So think about it hard, who’s it gonna be? D-Mack Well, there are so many people worthy of this title shot, but….what the hell…let’s make it The Mean Machine defending his title once again against the rightful champion…..MAINSTREAM HERNANDEZ! Nicole Kiss You heard it here first folks, next month, in that very ring, it’s Mainstream Hernandez vs. The Mean Machine, for the Mid Atlantic Championship! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First Round Match Mainstream Hernandez vs. Steven Parker Mainstream seemed like he was on cloud nine after hearing the announcement from D-Mack. Before the match Mainstream even went over and handed D-Mack his signature glasses in gratitude. Parker and Hernandez put on a great show as usual, each man seemingly knowing what the other was going to do two steps before they even knew themselves. After a mini-beating Parker hit the floor, where he walked around, then out of nowhere slapped the taste out of the man who chose Hernandez, D-Mack, which knocked his Mainstream glasses off and they broke on the floor. Mainstream didn’t take kindly to this and went out and put a hurtin’ on Parker. But once they were in the ring Hernandez’s emotions got the best of him and Parker nailed him with the Future Shock to move onto the second round. The Mean Machine Well, well, well…look who I get to face once again. If it isn’t that gridiron reject Des Davids. Some people say I’m cursed against Davids, that I’ll never beat him, that he has my number, well guess what. I’m going to prove each and every one of you wrong tonight. There’s a reason I’m holding this championship, it’s because I’m the best thing that Mid Atlantic Wrestling has to offer. Plain and simple, from this date on, nobody in that locker room will beat me….nobody. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Second Round Match Des Davis vs. The Mean Machine Des Davids made his way straight out to the ring, where he motioned to Machine that he was going to be winning the trophy tonight, then he motioned that he would be taking his championship whenever he got the opportunity to. Machine must have felt threatened by this because he started uncharacteristically swinging aimlessly at Davids, who let Machine tire himself out before he pounced all over Machine. He let out a ton of frustration on the champion, but Machine slowly started fighting back. He had Davids set up for the Mood Swing, but Davids used his power to break that up, then hit Machine with a new move, a elevated powerbomb, and he got another huge victory over the Mid Atlantic Champion. Winner: Des Davids Match Time: 12:08 Match Rating: C ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Second Round Match Antonio vs. Steven Parker Antonio came out of the gate flying, taking advantage of Parker as he stopped and laughed at the man he slapped earlier, who now had the slight outline of a hand print on his face. Antonio baseball slid into Parker, as the fan sat there and laughed at Parker as he bit it into the guardrail. Antonio smashed Parker’s cranium into anything he could find, and referee Jay Fair almost DQ’d Antonio before he brought the action back into the ring and started fighting tooth and nail to defend his trophy. Parker started using his size advantage over Antonio to his advantage though, and after blocking an Italian DDT, he caught him with the Future Shock for the victory, meaning the RCI would have a new champion this year. Winner: Steven Parker Match Time: 14:21 Match Rating: C- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steven Parker stayed in the ring before the next match, as he refused the chance to go to the back and get a breather before the main event. Instead he decided to go into a red-faced rant against the rest of the MAW roster. Steven Parker See that!?!?!? That’s why I was champion of this god forsaken promotion for more than a year. I beat anybody and everybody that Rip Chord threw at me. And that damned Mainstream stole my championship away, and in a sign of his real quality, he lost it just a few months later. It was a fluke! I proved that tonight when I shut him up in the first round. Now this Des Davids character will be facing me in the finals. Let’s see…..Des Davids, former football player, new to wrestling. Steven Parker, has been training to be a wrestler since before he could tie his shoes. It’s an easy choice, I’ll be dominating this match, then I can take that trophy, then take the championship from whoever is holding it…because let’s face it….I’m just that much better than everybody else. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rip Chord Invitational Finals Des Davids vs. Steven Parker After that heart felt promo, Parker seemed more winded than he did from his previous two matches. He had the opportunity for a breather, but decided to yell at the crowd instead, and Davids took full advantage of this. He hit a ton of body shots on Parker, which knocked the wind further out of him, and thus gave Davids the clear advantage. What Parker said started to come true though as he used his wrestling knowledge to reverse everything Davids could throw at him, and even had Des locked in a Sharpshooter at one point, even though the big man refused to quit. Parker then headed up top as Davids recovered on the mat. Parker then took flight as Davids started to get up, and Parker was ready to nail the double axe handle, when Davids shot to his feet and hit the Quarterback Sack on Parker out of thin air. Davids then covered Parker for the one, two, three, and earned his biggest achievement of his young career. Well, I didn't call the tourney right, but I loved my 15 sec of fame :D Reminded me of Bret Hart when he used to give his glasses to someone in the crowd and when he was feuding with his brother Owen, who then used to go and tear up the glasses from the kid Bret had given them to.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm starting up a real world dynasty in a day or so, but don't be alarmed when you see it pop up, I'm definatly keeping this one as my number one priority, plus it's not very time consuming and the most fun I've had playing a TEW game. So I'd be happy if you all came over and read that too. Look for standings and a preview for Red Alert in the next few days.....and Mack....how's the face feeling after that run-in with Steven Parker?

MAW Red Alert Live From Stanley Hall Friday, February Week 4, 2008 Mid Atlantic Championship Match The Mean Machine vs. Mainstream Hernandez At last month's RCI a member of the audience hit the jackpot and got to pick this main event, and he may have picked the best matchup that MAW could offer at this time. The current, reigning, and defending champion The Mean Machine will put his championship up against the man he won the championship from, Mainstream Hernandez. Number One Contender Match Antonio vs. Steven Parker Steven Parker came as close to you can come to winning the Rip Chord Invitational without actually winning it last month. Now he gets the chance to get a title shot at next month's event, but he has to go through Antonio to get that shot, which is always a very tough task. Plus, Antonio desperately wants his first one on one championship match here in MAW. Des Davids vs. Ricky Douglas The Des Davids train rolls on this month against a man that hasn't been seen in nearly a year in MAW, Ricky Douglas. Will Davids continue to play off the momentum from winning the RCI, or will Ricky Douglas emerge a new man, a man that will dominate MAW? Trent Shaffer vs. Davis Newton vs. Erik Strong vs. Kashmir Singh The Tag Team Champions Aerial Assault head into a four way shootout this month. Also participating in the match are Davis Newton and Kashmir Singh. Will Aerial Assault work together as a team, or will this every man for himself match come down to where the champs have to come to blows with each other? Mid Atlantic Championship: The Mean Machine (c) vs. Mainstream Hernandez Whilst I wouldn't completely discount Mainstream winning the belt again, I just having a feeling you're going to keep the belt on MM for a little while longer. Number One Contender: Antonio vs. Steven Parker I thought when Antonio got turned on by Rip Chord, he would begin a descent down the card but he seems to have managed to hold onto his upper card spot he earned by winning last years RCI. Personally I don't think he's all that (a solid worker but not the most talented) but it appears the head booker at MAW has seen something in the 'Italian' Technician. Going on that I think Antonio gets his chance at a one on one shot here, firstly Mean Machine vs Parker would be a heel vs heel match-up and though they don't particularly like each other, I'd imagine the heel/face lines in MAW are still pretty strong. Plus the fact that MM vs Antonio would be the fresher match up. Des Davids vs. Ricky Douglas Can Ricky Douglas say Squash, because that's what he will be on the receiving end of. Trent Shaffer vs. Davis Newton vs. Erik Strong vs. Kashmir Singh Newton hasn't quite received the rapid push I'd expect for someone of his undoubted natural talent, Shaffer and Strong are the current tag-champs (though in an albeit weak tag division- which would help explain the lack of title defenses) and Singh has gone a bit of quiet of late. You could stick a pin in any of them, but I'll stump for what I feel is the slightly stronger member of Aerial Assault.

Aerial Assault proved that they are a strong team as they worked together the entire match and didn’t come to blows once. They worked together and hit Kashmir Singh with their finisher, the combination Leg Drop and Strong Sault, but that left Davis Newton able to throw Shaffer out of the ring once he got up, then he nailed Strong with the Fisherman’s Suplex for the victory. Davids started strong, carrying off his momentum from winning the RCI, and he completely ran over Douglas, who was showing major ring rust. The crowd was fully behind Davids as he dismantled Douglas with huge clotheslines and various wrestling throws. The finish came after Davids hit a press slam on Douglas, then followed up with a huge Quarterback Sack for the victory. Do I really have to prove myself by beating this half-pint Italian for the number one contendership? Come on, I was champion for over a year, I should get a title shot whenever I damn well please. I shouldn’t have to fight against somebody as insignificant as Antonio. Sure, he won the RCI one year, but because he had Rip’s help, I did everything my way, the Parker Way, which is what I’m going to do tonight when I plant your undersized head into the mat, then I go to face the winner of tonight’s main event at next month’s show. Then I’ll take my championship back, and you all can have a champion you can be proud of once again. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Number One Contender’s Match Antonio vs. Steven Parker Steven Parker set out early to do what he said he would do, manhandle the smaller Antonio. He suplexed Antonio all around the ring, and Antonio couldn’t do anything to break the surge that is Steven Parker. Parker looked like he was going to make this the quickest number one contender match as he set Antonio up for the Future Shock, but Antonio escaped and took Parker down from behind. Antonio then slowed the match down to his pace with his exceptional technical ability, but Parker turned the pace back up with some reversals on Antonio’s holds. Parker then dominated for a couple more minutes, then looked for the Future Shock again, and once again Antonio slipped out of the hold, then hit the Italian DDT out of nowhere and picked up the shocking upset over the former champion. This match had the fans going from the beginning as both men went full throttle for the entire length of the match. Mainstream looked to capitalize on his awesome speed to get The Mean Machine off his game, which he successfully did. Mainstream hit some high impact flying moves on Machine, who would not stay down for the three count. Mainstream then hit a highlight reel like Top Rope Hurricanrana, but still only got the two count. He then nailed the Machine with a piledriver, then headed up top, possibly looking for the Shooting Star Press. He flew off with that exact move, and when Machine realized he couldn’t move he got his knees up and drove them straight into Mainstream’s gut. Machine then forced him up and nailed him with the Mood Swing and pulled out a squeaker to retain his championship. Antonio then entered the ring and got right in Machine’s face, and as the show came to an end Antonio and The Mean Machine were standing inches from each others face, and Machine was holding the championship up high, creating the perfect staredown before their championship match next month.
