World of Wrestling Testing: WWE Round Robin

[B][FONT="Verdana"]The following will be a sixteen man round robin tournament using my currently in progress mod, World of Wrestling. The sixteen most popular active wrestlers will be competing in this tournament, and the rules are as follows: [LIST] [*]Each man will fight three matches, one against every person in their group. [*]The top two wrestlers from each group will advance to a eight man, single elimination tournament. [*]The eight man tournament will be single elimination, and the winner will be decided in a two out of three falls match. [/LIST] This thing will most likely be long and drawn out, so that will provide some entertainment while I continue on with the mod, and hopefully at that time I'll have enough people for a tag tournament or something else like that. The Samoan Bulldozer just shrugged it off and went straight on the offensive. He hit Michaels with more than two minutes of strikes, and whenever HBK would hit the mat, Umaga would get him back up to hit him again. He hit a big legdrop on Michaels, then got greedy and went for the second rope splash. Michaels was able to get out of the way, and he began throwing jabs and dropkicks to Umaga, trying to take the big man off of his feet. He chopped away at Umaga, and it was clear around the ten minute mark that Michaels was safely in the driver's seat in this match. Michaels grounded Umaga with several arm and knee bars, as well as grapevines to wear Umaga down. He started to fight back, but Michaels put out this fight by stunning Umaga, then hitting a moonsault onto the standing Umaga. Michaels tuned up the band, but when he tried Sweet Chin Music Umaga was able to hit a thrust kick of his own, sending HBK straight to the mat. Umaga tried another splash, but Michaels avoided this one as well, then went to put it away with the Inverted Figure Four, but Umaga reversed it and got Michaels up for the Samoan Drop. After that Umaga got Michaels up in a press slam, then dropped him straight to the mat face first. He then began to stalk Michaels, he then forced him to his feet then nailed the Samoan Spike..... [/SIZE][IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WOW/RicFlair.jpg[/IMG] [SIZE="3"]Night One Group Four Batista (0-0) vs. Ric Flair (0-0)[/SIZE] Ric Flair quickly showed that he would show no mercy to his close friend Batista, and he raked the eyes of the Animal repeatedly, which set Batista off his game. Flair began using his signature chops around the ring, but Batista avoided a clothesline attempt from Flair, then started punching him all around the ring. Batista even threw in a couple of knife edge chops to the master of that strike. Batista then took Flair down with a bodyslam, and he started working on the body of Flair, wearing him down efficiently. Flair came back with a slap to Batista, then rolled him up and grabbed the tights, but only was able to get the two count. This angered Batista, and he went back on the offensive, and he leveled Flair again, but this time hit some mounted punches on Flair, and Nature Boy was lucky he wasn't busted wide open. Batista then whipped Flair off the ropes, and he looked for his Spinebuster, but Flair had it scouted, and he drilled a DDT on Batista. He slammed Flair around the ring a couple of more times, then he went for a front slam, but Flair was able to shift his weight and fall on Batista, but it only got a one count. Flair then hit Batista with a flurry of chops, then an inverted atomic drop. He looked for his shin breaker, but Batista was having none of it, and he then speared Flair right in the gut. He pinned him, but Flair kicked out at the very last second. Batista continued the offense, and he went for a Batista Bomb, but Flair fell on top again, but once again could only get a two count. The fans were at a frenzy at this point, and they cheered for both men to fight back into it. Flair got to his feet first, and he DDT'd Batista once again, then headed to the top rope. In true Flair fashion he came off with the Double Axe Handle, but Batista was able to slug Flair before he struck him. Batista then set Flair up and drilled the Batista Bomb...... This had no effect on Triple H, who gave Kennedy a smile then unleashed some early offense on him. He chopped and punched him around the ring, then leveled him with a clothesline. He went for his famous knee drop, but Kennedy was able to roll out of the way. This allowed Kennedy to get some offense in, and he took down Triple H and locked in a body scissors, and then an arm bar. Triple H wasn't going to sit back and take this though and he began chopping Kennedy again, then drilled a nice belly-to-belly suplex, and Kennedy was really struggling. Triple H then took him over with a vertical suplex, and he went for a Figure Four, and Kennedy was able to avoid the hold, and he began using his educated feet to chop down Triple H. He then hit some mounted punches on Triple H's head as the tide began to turn. Kennedy got Triple H to the mat, and he was able to lock in the Figure Four that Triple H couldn't, but Triple H wasn't going to even think about tapping out. He stomped him into the mat some more, then got him up and drilled a thunderous running knee lift. He then went for a DDT on Triple H, but he reversed the move into an inverted atomic drop, and Triple H picked his pace back up to his pace. He suplexed him a couple of times, then posed to the crowd, which allowed Kennedy to sneak up and slam Triple H to the mat. Kennedy then suplexed Triple H down, and he followed that up with a big back suplex, and Kennedy then posed for the crowd, mocking Triple H. He kicked Triple H around the ring some more, but when Triple H regained the momentum it was short lived because Kennedy drilled him with a low blow. After some more offense Triple H came back and tried to hit the Pedigree, but Kennedy reversed, and he went for a short-arm clothesline, but Triple H then reversed that he caught all of the Pedigree on Kennedy..... Excellent so far really enjoyable but i dont think kennedy should have a figure four, possibly good reason for triple h and shawn michaels (although he has his own version now) but kennedy only used it while in a fued with flair. I just feel it takes away from the finisher if loads of guys have a watered down figure four, and ive never seen triple h hit a belly to belly suplex. PN: i wrote this on my iphone :)

He had his signature arrogant smile on, but Mysterio soon wiped it off with a few punches and forearm strikes of his own. He was then able to take Edge down with a deep arm drag, then followed that up with a solid legdrop across the throat of Edge. The Rated R Superstar was able to gain momentum for a short time after that, but all he got in was a few punches, and Rey Mysterio then started to fire right back. He started a series of unique lucha libre moves that Edge had no answer for them, but when Mysterio tried suplexing Edge it didn't go over well, and Edge regained the advantage. Edge took Mysterio down with a big vertical suplex, then he slowed the lightning quick Mysterio down with body scissors, arm bars, and rear chinlocks. Edge looked to be stalking Rey for the Spear, but Mysterio was able to grab hold of Edge and nail with a DDT, and he quickly went outside and hit a springboard senton onto Edge as he got up, but he only got the two count. Mysterio then took Edge down with a lucha spinning head scissors, and then began slap kicks onto the seated Edge. He followed that up with a basement dropkick. Mysterio then waited for Edge to rise and drilled another DDT. He quickly went to the apron, and he leaped up and he then Dropped the Dime onto Edge...... [IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WOW/DroppintheDime.jpg[/IMG] The referee then began counting, and he reached the three count, and Mysterio surprised the crowd by dominating Edge in this night one match. If Mysterio can take care of people like this through the group stage, he has a good chance of going all the way. Ratings seem a bit off, not that that really matters, as the results and movesets seem ok. Nothing really stands out, aside from Mysterio dominating Edge but even that's not too far-fetched.

When I actually play matches between two stars they are consistently B's or above. The Mysterio-Edge match was a giant fluke. I've played that match about 5 times, and Edge won 3 in dominating fashion, Mysterio squeeked out the other, and then he just dominated Edge in that one. So you can't read much into the ratings on this game, they don't come around the same way TEW ratings do. Two stars can put on a dud of a match if they don't have a great back-and-forth match.

[IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WOW/JohnBradshawLayfield.jpg[/IMG] [SIZE="3"]Night One Group Two Undertaker (0-0) vs. John Bradshaw Layfield (0-0)[/SIZE] JBL began this match by attacking the Undertaker, and he slugged away for over a minute when he tried to throw Taker into the corner, but Undertaker quickly came back and started throwing some punches of his own to the skull of JBL. He grounded JBL and locked in a body scissors, then some mounted punches on the former WWE Champion. JBL was able to fight back, and he whipped Undertaker into the corner, then tried a ten punch, but Undertaker threw him away, then delivered a thrust to the throat of JBL. Undertaker followed up with a roundhouse punch to the body of JBL, then to the head. He tried a suplex, but JBL blocked the attempt, then took Taker down with a Russian Legsweep. JBL stayed on top for several more minutes, and as he powered Undertaker around the ring he posed to the crowd, and they showered him with boos the entire time. JBL was able to hit the Last Call once, but he only got a two count. He took Undertaker down with a bodyslam, but Taker sat right up. He gained momentum back, then nailed JBL with a DDT. He ran his thumb across his throat as if to say it was over, then nailed the Tombstone Piledriver..... [IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WOW/TombstonePiledriver.jpg[/IMG] He then pinned JBL, but in a shocking moment JBL was able to muster up his wrestling spirit and kick out at the very last moment. Undertaker looked shocked as he got JBL back up, nailed a suplex, then got him right back up. He whipped JBL off the ropes and drilled him with a powerslam. While JBL was still down Undertaker grabbed the arm of JBL, and locked his leg under his chin, and cranked back in a move called the Gogoplata..... [IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WOW/Gogoplata.jpg[/IMG] Undertaker cranked back on the head of JBL, and the self proclaimed Wrestling God quickly tapped out so he wouldn't have his neck broken. The fans gave Undertaker a standing ovation for coming out on top of this great match when it was over. [SIZE="3"]Winner: Undertaker Match Time: 19:30 Match Rating: A*[/SIZE] [/B][/CENTER][/FONT]

Orton then forced Hardy up and nailed him with some of his very strong European Uppercuts, which wore down the younger Hardy very quickly. He took Hardy down to the mat with a clothesline, then stepped right on his face. Orton forced Hardy up, then charged at him, but Hardy was waiting with a flapjack. Hardy then went on a three minute offensive that saw Orton get hit with numerous dropkicks, and when Hardy got him down he went straight to work. He stomped Orton, then locked in an arm bar, followed by his legdrop straight to the groin of Orton. Orton was able to regain his barrings, then take down Orton with another European Uppercut, followed by two straight elbow drops. The two men then battled on the outside, and Orton tried a DDT, but Hardy reversed it into a Twist of Fate onto the floor. He then hauled the lifeless body of Orton back into the ring. Hardy began working over the limp body of Orton, but like in a scary movie Orton shot back to life and delivered a low blow to Hardy. He got Hardy to his feet, then nailed him with a vertical suplex, and began stalking him with that certain evil look on his face. He then tried to hit the RKO, but Hardy reversed it into another Twist of Fate, this time in the middle of the ring... [IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WOW/JeffTwistofFate.jpg[/IMG] He then covered Orton, 1!....2!....Kickout at the last moment! The fans let out a gasp when Orton was able to get out. Hardy got up and had a little chat with the ref, then got himself pumped back up, but that allowed Orton to take him down, then drill a mounted punch flurry on Hardy. He slugged away with everything he had, and Hardy was in a bad way. Orton then squared him up for his Punt Kick to the head, but Hardy was able to roll him up in a small package, and he got the two count. Hardy then headed up top, but he missed on a moonsault press, then Orton uncoiled and hit the deadly RKO... [IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WOW/RKO.jpg[/IMG] The referee then began the pinfall, 1!....2!....Kickout! The fans burst into cheers when Hardy was able to get out of the pinfall. After that the two men fought back and forth for several more minutes, and when Hardy would get an advantage the fans would cheer him on, and when Orton got up the fans would try to get Hardy back running. He was able to take down Orton with the Whisper in the Wind, then headed up top for the Swanton. Orton leaped to his feet though and threw Hardy off the top rope. He then waited for him to rise and hit the RKO once again... [IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WOW/RKO.jpg[/IMG] The referee once again started counting...1!...2!...3! The fans gave both men a standing ovation for this great match. They would have liked to see Hardy kick out of the RKO again, but two RKO's are just too much for anybody to get out of. Cena then had MVP on the mat for several minutes. He hit him with a couple of elbow drops, then locked in a nerve pinch that slowed down MVP even more. Cena then hooked the legs of MVP and launched him into the corner, where he smashed his head into the turnbuckle numerous times, then hit a charging clothesline to him. Cena got MVP up, then nailed a vertical suplex, and he had time to pose to the crowd. MVP got up before Cena was done though and he turned the tide in his favor. He started using his deadly feet to kick away at the thighs of Cena, then hit a body press followed by some punches to the head of Cena. MVP continued the assault of Cena with a nerve pinch of his own, then he continued work on the legs with a grapevine. MVP then made sure Cena was down, and he bounced off the ropes, then yelled out, BALLIN!, then dropped the elbow right to Cena's chest. Cena fought his way back up, but MVP stayed in control and he hit Cena with a big belly-to-belly suplex. After some chops from MVP, Cena was able to fight back and took MVP down and looked for the STFU, but MVP got out before it was locked in. MVP then shot to his feet, and Cena wasn't able to do anything, so MVP went for the Playmaker, but was unable to connect. Cena turned this into his spinning back suplex bomb, then went for the F-U, but MVP turned him right into the Playmaker... The two then traded a long series of reversals on each other, and after MVP missed on a second attempt at the Playmaker, Cena scooped MVP up and delivered the F-U... The fans shot to their feet and gave Cena a standing ovation after this hard fought half-hour battle against Montel Vontavious Porter. He slugged him around the ring, and although it didn't have much impact on the big man, it slowly wore him down. Jericho charged at Show looking for a clothesline, but Big Show got him up and delivered a big back body drop. Show then started to turn things around and dominate Y2J. He punched him a few times, then he bodyslammed him to the mat, and followed that up with a big elbow drop to the chest of Y2J. Big Show tried to slap Jericho in the chest with his catcher's mitt like hand, but Y2J moved, then took Show down with a dropkick, and once he had him down he went to town on him. Jericho first went to work on Show's legs with a grapevine and kicks to his legs, and he followed this up with some mounted punches to Big Show. Big Show fought back shortly after, but Jericho reached into his bag of tricks and low blowed Big Show, turning things decisively back in his favor. He then waited for Show to rise and he nailed him with the DDT. He quickly fought right back though, and he hit Jericho with an overhead slam almost all the way across the ring.
