For XFW, the night was going pretty well. After a few initial dud matches things had picked up with James Brandon defeating The Guru and The Peak Brothers retaining the XFW Blood Brothers Championship from Shawn Gonzalaz & Genghis Khan. However it was the next two matches that the fans had paid to see. Main-eventing tonights show was The Insane Heat defending the XFW World Championship against Randall Hopkirk, but before that was the sure fire sleeper match, Big Smack Scott Vs Maxwell Adams. XFW had created a classic underdog story with the debut of Maxwell Adams at the beginning of 1998. Initial victories against Benjamin Moore and Johnny Highspot to name a few had got him noticed by an egotisical Scott. At Fear Of The Dark in May, Scott interfered in the match causing Adams' first loss in XFW. Since then, both men have been attacking each other at every opportunity. Sensing the tension building behind the scenes as well as in front of the camera, XFW owner Duncan Kendall finally paired the two up for tonights match. The moment the bell sounded, both men flew at each other. Over the course of the next 14 minutes, they tried they hardest to destroy the other. Scott had grabbed one of the chairs from ringside and was brandishing it as a weapon and after a particularly sick looking chairshot, Adams' face had become a crimson mask of blood. The script had called for Scott to land the Big Smack Shuffle and claim the win, however it appeared bloodlust had claimed him and he began to go off script. Adams tried his best to cover but Scott grabbed him and performed the Ego Trip. Something that he still hadn't perfected. Adams bounced off the canvas, and was laying there prone for the pinfall, however Scott proceeded to pick him up for another Ego Trip. However when he let go for a moment, Adams collapsed back onto the mat. The referee shouted at Scott to cover him and fast counted for a victory. Scott proceeded to celebrate his win and didn't notice the ref signalling for the medical team. Maxwell Adams would never wrestle again.

Not only is BSS involved, but he's digging back to the C-Verse 1990s mod, which in itself gets major props. Also, well done stuff. Curious, are you just creating a sort of "where is he now" for Maxwell Adams, or is this going to lead into him being the head booker for a fed?

What is Beyond Sweat & Tears: BS&T is a documentary looking at the ups & downs of a wrestling promotion in the USA. We follow former wrestler Maxwell Adams as he attempts to guide [promotion as yet un-named] to the big time, while dealing with the issues of booking a locker room full of ego's. Who is Maxwell Adams: Maxwell Adams was a wrestling for Xtreme Federation of Wrestling during the East Coast Wars. However he suffered a career ending injury during a match and was forced to retire from in-ring activities. While never returning to a wrestling promotion, Maxwell never left the sport, instead becoming a columnist for totalextremewrestling.com. Show Style: Ideally we are trying to get Maxwell Adams hired with one of the smaller promotions currently running in order to use their current popularity to boost the show ratings. If we can gain an interview, we hope to use the interviews in the style of CBA's American Wannabe Singer's audition tapes. Once we gain a position on staff (or in worst case, create a new promotion) we become a fly on the wall as Maxwell goes about his business. TV Schedule: With smaller companies putting out only a show a month, we are aiming to intially start BS&T with TV specials airing once a month. If the ratings are good, then slowly start building up to weekly shows End of pitch

Pre-Production Meeting Notes:
After putting out feelers to some of the smaller promotions out there, we have had some bites. Our first offer came from Rip Chord of Mid Atlantic Wrestling. Rip Chord was a legend in the 1980's and a recovering alcoholic, so to get him on the show could make for some excellent television. His promotion MAW is a training ground for todays youngsters and could provide us with some excellent conflicts. Our second offer came from Derek Bradford (aka The Stomper) of New York City Wrestling. The Stomper is well known to the aging wrestling fans and his promotion NYCW is seen as a final curtain for yesterdays stars. We could use NYCW and its wrestlers to get a nostalgic feel which while bringing in the older viewers, could alienate newer fans to the sport who dont know them. Our final offer came from Mitch Naess of Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling. Mitch Naess is well known from his days in DaVE and had created his own company after DaVE collapsed. He wants to use the popularity gained from the show to boost PSW up in peoples eyes, and by working with him, we should be able to gain access to DaVE's fans who will be looking for a fix of what they used to see. The one drawback i see of PSW is some of the violence involved in the matches which could put off the non-hardcore fans. The sponsors and suits at Sports America are considering the options and will let us know in a few days which promotion we will agree a deal with.
Want to be one of Sports America's suits...
