Tuesday, Week 2, July, 2008 Before the show goes live on the Sci-Fi network, the sold out crowd are treated to an exclusive match: Alex Shelley versus Elijah Burke Ring announcer Tony Chimel announces Elijah Burke, who is joined by his partner Shelton Benjamin. Burke wins the match after a distraction from Shelton leads to a roll up. Elijah Burke defeats Alex Shelley in 17:50 by pinfall after Interference Rating: C- As the show begins we are treated to a replay of the conclusion of the previous match. We cut live to the ring where Davey Richards and Kofi Kingston are joining Alex Shelley. Davey addresses his friend: Davey: Again, you are shafted, put in a match that isn’t even on television, and losing after interference. The crowd cheer in support of Shelley as Davey Richards hands the microphone to Kofi: Kingston: Yeah man. This is not on. It’s not why I came here. At least now we have each other’s backs. Take my arm we’ll take you to the back my friend. Kofi and Davey help Shelley to his feet as the crowd clap in support of the fallen Shelley, before we head to a commercial break. Rating: D+ Bam Neely & Chavo Guerrero versus Colin Delaney & Super Crazy Mike Adamle informs the live audience that RAW’s Super Crazy joins Delaney in this match, as he wants to prove that he can still compete with the best of the WWE after being eliminated from the King of the Ring tournament. Chavo continues to look excellent as he pins Delaney after a Gory Bomb, whilst Super Crazy was hitting a Moonsault onto Bam Neely, who was outside of the ring. Bam Neely & Chavo Guerrero beat Super Crazy & Colin Delaney in 2:50 Rating: D- Non-Title: Matt Hardy versus Big Daddy V Joey Styles on commentary informs us that SmackDown’s United States Champion Matt Hardy will have to defend his title at the Great American Bash in a Fatal-Four-Way match against Gregory Helms, Finlay and Montel Vontavious Porter. Hardy beats Big Daddy V, despite Matt Striker being at ringside, following a Twist of Fate. Matt Hardy defeats Big Daddy V in 7:51 by pinfall with a Twist Of Fate Rating: C Funaki versus Big Show Funaki and Big Show don’t seem to click in this match, with Funaki clearly under matched against the Largest Athlete in the World today. Tazz informs the audience that Big Show asked for Funaki to come over from SmackDown as a way of being able to wrestle a smaller man before his match with CM Punk at the Great American Bash. Funaki gets little offence in, and Big Show hits a Low Blow behind the referee’s back for good measure to get the win. Big Show beat Funaki in 2:47 by pinfall by using underhanded tactics Rating: D Charlie Hass & Shelton Benjamin versus Freaks of Nature Joey Styles mentions during this match that Charlie Hass is visiting ECW from RAW to team with his former partner as Freaks of Nature wanted to face the best tag teams in the WWE before their Championship match at the Great American Bash. Hornswoggle and Boogeyman both perform exceptionally well as a unit, and Hornswoggle gets the win after pinning Charlie Hass with a Tadpole Splash. Freaks of Nature defeat Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin in 2:46 Rating: D+ Non-Title: Miz and Morrison versus Jamie Noble & CM Punk In a similar fashion to the Number One Contenders Freaks of Nature’s previous match, Mike Adamle tells the audience at home that Jamie Noble is teaming with CM Punk as Miz and Morrison searched RAW, ECW and SmackDown for the smallest man to wrestle in preparation for Hornswoggle, and Jamie Noble was the best fit. CM Punk comes out of this match looking good but the ECW Tag Team Champions pick up another win when The Miz battles Mister Money In The Bank Punk on the outside, allowing Morrison to hit the Moonlight Drive on Jamie Noble. Miz & Morrison defeat Jamie Noble and CM Punk in 2:46 Rating: C- We cut backstage to find Elijah Burke aggressively walking towards “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan”. Burke squares up to the legend: Burke: You saw me win my match against Alex Shelley earlier. Forget those three punks that “have each other’s backs, I’m still the fastest rising star in ECW. Elijah Burke stands proudly, looking very pleased with himself as Duggan answers back: Duggan: It’s like I told you last week Elijah. Both you and your partner need to learn some respect. Benjamin thinks he can just challenge Kane and take him on at the Great American Bash. He’s going to get himself killed. Jim Duggan laughs to himself, pats his two-by-four across his hands, and walks away, leaving Burke dumbfounded. Rating: C Following a commercial break Mike Knox makes his way to the ring, with a microphone in hand: Knox: Much like the beating myself, Nunzio and Henry are going to dish out later, I’m going to be short and sweet. This tournament to decide ECW’s most Valued Player’s going to be starting soon, and I happen to be drawn against Kane in the first round. Don’t let your match with Benjamin at the Bash distract you Kane. I’m right around your corner. Mike Knox smiles, and throws the microphone to the floor as the fans boo, before we head to another commercial break. Rating: B- Layla versus Kelly Kelly Kelly Kelly and Layla are both treated to lukewarm reactions from the crowd in this contest. Mike Adamle reminds us how Layla tried to cost Kelly her match with Lena Yada last week, but the fans in attendance could care less about the action in the ring as Layla uses the ropes to her advantage to win the match. Layla beat Kelly Kelly in 0:37 by pinfall while using the ropes Rating: E After a commercial break we cut to Joey Styles, Mike Adamle, and Tazz who announce a match to take place on next week’s ECW: Mark Destiny, Matt Sydal & Mike Posey versus Snitsky, Matt Striker & Big Daddy V Joey Styles informs the live crowd that this will be Snitsky’s first match in over a month, and that Destiny, Sydal and Posey will have to work very hard to win, as they are the huge underdogs. Rating: E+ Mark Henry, Knox & Nunzio versus Tommy Dreamer & The Highlanders Former General Manager Estrada accompanies Mark Henry to ringside in this contest, and taunts the fans during the match by holding up Mark Henry’s ECW Championship. Estrada can be heard cheering on the ECW Champion throughout the match. Mike Knox seems a little off of his game as the Highlanders use several double team attacks on the big man during the early stages of the match-up. To keep things even, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair accompanies Tommy Dreamer to the ring, as Styles mentions that this one time occasion is due to Flair’s recent respect shown for Dreamer as he tries to recreate the passion that the former ECW showed, and Flair being a big fan of passion itself. With Flair cheering him on, Tommy Dreamer looks really good in ECW’s Main Event, as he handles Nunzio like he weighs nothing at all. Knox begins to show offence, as he uses power moves on Rory McAllister, before Rory gets the tag to Robbie, who hits some innovative manoeuvres on Knox before Mark Henry makes his way into the ring, quickly hitting the World’s Strongest Slam on Robbie to win the match for his team Mark Henry, Knox & Nunzio beat Dreamer & Highlanders in 11:33 Rating: D+ As the participants begin to leave the ring, Mark Henry and Estrada celebrate inside it, with Henry holding up his ECW Championship high in the air. Suddenly, some familiar music hits, and Stevie Richards make his return to ECW. He stands on the ramp way with a microphone: Stevie: Mark Henry, even the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair came here tonight to support the original ECW, and he wasn’t even a part of it. Dreamer’s taking that title at the Bash, Henry, and there’s nothing either of you can do about it. Stevie Richards proudly shows off the “ECW” on his shirt and smiles as both Henry and Estrada shout, clearly being angered by the unadvertised return as the show comes to a close. Rating: C- Show Rating: D

This week on Raw it seems GM Austin has decided to spice things up in two pick your poison match’s where Cena and HHH will chose an opponent for each other and a stipulation. What can we expect from the heated rivalry that seems to be taking over Monday nights. Plus will Ted Dibiase and his Money Inc have any part to play with their silly mind games. With Ted Dibiase announcing that he will reveal his champion at the Great American Bash it seems every one will be on their toes for this final Raw before the Bash

Friday, Week 2, July, 2008 Before the show begins Cherry makes her way to the ring to wrestle SmackDown! newcomer, Lativa Alere: Cherry versus Lavita Alere Cherry is a little exposed in this match, as perhaps the length of the contest is too long. The match needs to be a lot shorter considering the inexperience of the two divas involved. Justin Roberts announces Alere as Lavita Alere this week, which will be her new name on SmackDown! Despite the efforts of Cherry, who wins with a Stunner, the crowd are not very interested in this match. Cherry defeats Lavita Alere in 18:21 by pinfall with a Stunner Rating: F+ Undertaker, Batista, Hardy & McCool vs Edge, MVP, Umaga & Tracie Michael Cole on commentary mentions that this is Tracie Stephens’ first match on SmackDown as The Undertaker begins to dominate from the early going. The performance of Edge stands out as being good, as he heads into his title defence at the Great American Bash against both The Undertaker and Batista in a Triple Threat match. Hardy puts on a good display against MVP, who will be one of the three men challenging for his United States Championship at the Bash. Edge forces Umaga to attack his foes, but is later tagged in, and takes a Tombstone from The Undertaker to lose the match for his team. Taker, Batista, Hardy, McCool beat Edge, MVP, Umaga, Tracie in 17:01 Rating: C Following a commercial break we cut backstage to find Chuck Palumbo reading an article about Cherry in the latest edition of the WWE Magazine. Rating: E Non-Title: Deuce & Domino versus Jamie Noble & Colt Cabana Michael Cole mentions how at the Great American Bash Deuce and Domino will once again have to defend their WWE Tag Team Championships against both Hawkins and Ryder and Jesse and Festus. Deuce pins Noble in this match following the “Crack In The Mouth”. Deuce 'n' Domino defeat Jamie Noble and Colt Cabana in 6:54 Rating: D Rey Mysterio & Super Crazy versus Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder In Rey Mysterio’s first match in several months, he teams with RAW’s Super Crazy. The two Mexican superstars have excellent chemistry teaming together. Mick Foley informs the fans at home that Mysterio invited his friend Super Crazy over from RAW to team with him in his first match back. Mysterio put up a great performance in this contest, using several highflying manouvres against both Hawkins and Ryder. The finish came when Crazy pinned Zach Ryder following a Crazy Bomb, whilst Mysterio hit Hawkins with the 619. Rey Mysterio & Super Crazy defeat The Edgeheads in 7:55 Rating: D+ Following the conclusion of the contest Festus makes his way to ringside, unaccompanied. He takes a microphone and addresses the fans: Festus: It’s great to be here. It wasn’t fair what happened last week, but at the Great American Bash, we will win the WWE Tag Titles. Festus smiles innocently and casually puts the microphone on the mat as the fans applaud before we head to a commercial break. Rating: C- Back in the arena, Finlay is making his way to ringside for his scheduled match. His music suddenly stops, however, and Gregory Helms is standing on the ramp with a microphone: Helms: Finlay before you go to the ring for your match with Charlie Hass, I’m going to warn you of something. At the Great American Bash, I’m going to be the one leaving United States Champion. Helms throws the microphone onto the ground and begins to walk towards Finlay, who is ready for a fight, before MVP’s music plays, and he enters the arena and picks up the microphone: MVP: I may not have lost earlier tonight, but in the Fatal Four-Way at the Great American Bash; I will leave United States Champion. I like your thinking for tonight though Gregory. Without saying another word, MVP joins Helms, and the two run at Finlay, attacking him and pushing him to the concrete floor. The two stomp away at the fallen Irishman before we cut to a commercial break. Rating: C+ Finlay versus Charlie Hass Michael Cole and Mick Foley both show respect that Finlay continues to compete after his beat down against one of RAW’s most experienced technicians, Charlie Hass. Finlay quickly picks up the win after a Celtic Cross. Finlay defeats Charlie Haas in 1:52 by pinfall with a Celtic Cross Rating: C- Gregory Helms vs Funaki Cole mentions to the fans at home that he thinks it’s disgusting what Helms did with MVP to Finlay earlier in the evening. Funaki actually gives Helms a decent fight, and Helms has to resort to using the ropes to win the match. Gregory Helms defeats Funaki in 7:44 by pinfall Rating: D We cut backstage to find Jesse walking through the corridors, seemingly looking for Festus. He hears a noise, and turns around to see Curt Hawkins: Hawkins: You guys didn’t get the message last week? We may not have won our match earlier, but it’s only a matter of time before we win those Tag Team titles. Jesse is about to reply, but before he can do so Hawkins cheap shots Jesse with a right hand to the face, before making a run for it as Jesse looks furious. The crowd seem uninterested in the contest between two lower level talents. Michael Cole mentions how Yang has been on a run as of late, and is looking towards receiving a Cruiserweight Championship opportunity. Yang quickly beats Kozlov as the fans show little interest. Jimmy Wang Yang beats Vladimir Kozlov in 2:40 by pinfall Rating: F+ We cut backstage to find Michelle McCool having a conversation with one of her partner’s from earlier on in the evening, Batista: Batista: You shouldn’t worry about Beth so much. You did well earlier tonight; you can beat her at the Great American Bash. Michelle McCool proudly looks at her WWE Divas Championship that is around her shoulder. She smiles at Batista as she replies: McCool: Thanks Dave, and if anyone can win the World Championship at the Great American Bash, it’s you. Batista smiles and walks away from the Divas Champion, and Michelle turns to receive a slap from Lavita Alere. Alere smiles and looks down at the fallen Champion: Alere: You think that just because you’re facing the Womens Champion Beth Phoenix at the Bash you can forget about challengers to your title? Alere continues to kick Michelle whilst she is down, and Maryse walks into the scene, and smiles at the carnage caused. She too looks down at McCool: Maryse: You think you’re so special, hanging around with stars like Batista? You’re going to get battered by Phoenix at the Great American Bash; you’re an embarrassment to the SmackDown! Divas. Edge makes his way to the ring, holding his World Heavyweight Championship high in the air. MVP hands Edge the microphone: Edge: Why thank you Mr. Porter. You see all I’ve been hearing since the Triple Threat match was announced last week, with myself defending against both Batista and The Undertaker, is speculation about whether Batista or Undertaker will win the World title. You’re forgetting about the man that defeated both of these men with the World Championship on the line, me. The crowd begin to boo the Rated R Superstar as MVP applauds. Suddenly the crowd pop as Batista’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. He has a microphone in hand: Batista: You two want to come out here and run your mouths. How about I find a partner and take the two of you on next week? Edge and MVP look a little worried, but Edge begins to smile as he takes another microphone from ringside: Edge: Oh yeah, you got lucky earlier on, but the two of us, after the Great American Bash we’ll both be Champions. You and Matt Hardy don’t stand a chance. Batista: With all due respect to the United States Champion, who said anything about Matt Hardy? Edge suddenly looks very afraid, and before long the lights go out. When they come back on The Undertaker is in the ring, and Batista and Undertaker clear house, throwing MVP and Edge out of the ring. No offense Destiny but I totalty disargee with your booking style, why was the 3 vs 3 match not your main event? Why did Helms have to use the ropes to beat Funaki? Why did Great Khali need interference to win in 5 mins, but you let the Boogeyman win clean over Big Daddy V? Then Big Show uses the ropes to beat Colin, unneccasery you say but it still took him 7 mins, Im just a little confused.

Ok, so where to begin. I say the beginning of RAW is as good a place as any, so let us do this, shall we? RAW *Shawn's interview seemed out of place, given that he had a match immediately after. The content was expected, but the placement, not sure. *HHH/HBK vs Money Inc. - The right team went over with a good finish. *Shawn's confrontation with Jericho. Not much to say, other than it's a segment that has to be in there given the proximity of the Bash. *Beth Phoenix/Melina vs Candice Michelle/Michelle McCool - Kind of torn on this one. I like the fact that the odds are stacked against McCool. Would work better if she was a challenger though. Also, not sure I'm sold on Candice's heel turn if she joins up with Beth & Melina. Especially if Beth wins, Candice is out of a title shot for a while. We'll see where this goes. *Money Inc. segment helps them regain a bit of heat after the loss. Good choice. *Henry vs London - Henry gets the win as he should and in convincing fashion. *Hardy segment/Cade vs Mr Kennedy (wait for it) Kennedy/JBL vs Hardy - I'll group them together because it kind of builds off each other. Great results. Though I didn't like how they got there (the two losers interfering in each other's match). I see why you did it (since it sets them up in a match, but I would have had Cade interfere in Hardy's because he had lost and didnt' want to see Hardy win. At the very least, play it off as Hardy not laughing at Cade, but something else. *HHH segment/Cena match - HHH segment seems like a throwaway to me. He should have done commentary instead. Cena wins, as he should. No complaints there. *Final segment - I like the build up, but that last line was very confusing by HHH. Not sure what he means by it. And hopefully there is someone by DiBiase between the two. I'd hate a bait & switch in this situation. ECW *Shelley vs Burke/Shelley with Kofi & D. Richards - I like that it's something new to try, but I wouldn't be able to get into it on TV. I would have played it off as Shelley has been losing on house shows or something for the people on TV. *Chavo/Neely vs Crazy/Delaney - Why is Delaney there? I like the winner, but I don't like some of the other booking given the result of this match. More on that later. *M. Hardy vs BDV - I don't really like the result of this. Yes, Matt shouldn't be jobbed out leading into the match, so a different opponent could be picked, or at least a no contest. As it is, BDV is being made out to look awfully weak as of late. *Big Show vs Funaki - I say Punk wins if Show has to resort to a low blow against Funaki. He hasn't been competitive since Taka was around. *Benjamin/Haas vs Freaks of Nature - You should just fire poor Charlie and put him out of his misery. The former WGTT get beat with a Tadpole splash that doesn't seem to be set up by a tremendous power move. *MNM v 2.0 vs Noble/Punk - eh, ok match. WAYYYYYY too short. Right result though. *Burke/Duggan won't matter too much for me until there's a physical confrontation, which is hopefully soon. *Knox segment serves to set up his match against Kane. *Layla vs Kelly Kelly - not sure what the purpose of the match was, as short as it was. I would have added that minute to a promo or something. *Henry/Knox/Nunzio vs Dreamer & The Highlanders - Good to see Dreamer & Henry being kept away. *Final segment - not sure why Richards was picked for that spot. Not sure if it was entirely necessary. Maybe a Flair promo would have given it a little more oomph. **for next week, Snitsky/Striker/BDV better win, or they should hit the bricks. SD! *Cherry vs Lavita Alere - why was this given almost 20 mins??? *Batista/M.Hardy/Taker/McCool vs Edge/MVP/Umaga/Tracie - I thought this was the ME. Solid match, right ending, given enough time. Kudos. *Palumbo segment (much like the Kelly Kelly match from ECW) that minute would have been better served elsewhere. *Deuce & Domino vs Noble/Colt Cabana - Doesn't do much for me, as Noble keeps playing musical partners. *Mysterio & Crazy vs Edgeheads - Edgeheads should have gone over leading into the PPV. A team thrown together (Crazy tagged with someone else on ECW) can beat a contender? Unless Mysterio/Crazy go for the belts later on, it seems like a bad choice. *Festus segment seems out of place/out of character, but content was good. *Finlay beat down by Helms & MVP; Finlay vs Haas - So Finlay gets jumped by two men and can still beat Charlie in under 2 minutes? Doesn't seem right. *Helms vs Funaki - should have been a clean win. *Edgehead 1 sucker punching Jesse doesn't do much for me, as far regaining some heat. *Yang vs Kozlov - Is Kozlov getting fired? I know Yang is good, but come on, you job him out to UT last week, and now Yang? *McCool/Batista/Alere/Maryse segment doesn't work for me, given the last line. Would have been nice for Batista to have stood up for her, or at least have McCool show more confidence. *Khali vs Murdoch - Khali should have won, but he's not a threat anymore. Not unless he beats UT, Kane & Batista down the line. *Boogeyman vs BDV/Show vs Delaney - same matches as last week, with the same result, and similar times? And Show mocking Delaney would have been better served by him destroying him quickly, and then pinning him for a 2, only for Show to lift Delaney's shoulder (just to pin him after that). *Final segment - Pretty good, but it almost guarantees MVP doing the job going into the Bash.

OK, I can't comment on RAW, because I didn't book the show, but here are my responses to your comments. Thanks for reading. :)
ECW *Shelley vs Burke/Shelley with Kofi & D. Richards - I like that it's something new to try, but I wouldn't be able to get into it on TV. I would have played it off as Shelley has been losing on house shows or something for the people on TV. It's original, and it's just a way of playing up on the alliance between the three. *Chavo/Neely vs Crazy/Delaney - Why is Delaney there? I like the winner, but I don't like some of the other booking given the result of this match. More on that later. Delaney's there because at the moment I'm using him as a glorified jobber, he won't be winning too many matches. *M. Hardy vs BDV - I don't really like the result of this. Yes, Matt shouldn't be jobbed out leading into the match, so a different opponent could be picked, or at least a no contest. As it is, BDV is being made out to look awfully weak as of late. Big Daddy V has been made to look rather weak. When I began the game he was a Main Eventer. *Big Show vs Funaki - I say Punk wins if Show has to resort to a low blow against Funaki. He hasn't been competitive since Taka was around. He didn't have to resort to a low blow, he did it as a way to mock Funaki. Punk versus Show should be more competitive than their first encounter. *Benjamin/Haas vs Freaks of Nature - You should just fire poor Charlie and put him out of his misery. The former WGTT get beat with a Tadpole splash that doesn't seem to be set up by a tremendous power move. It's not up to me to fire Hass, as he's a RAW Superstar. As of now, Togg has agreed that we can use him as a jobber. *MNM v 2.0 vs Noble/Punk - eh, ok match. WAYYYYYY too short. Right result though. The result was right in that it put Miz and Morrison over going into the Great American Bash. *Burke/Duggan won't matter too much for me until there's a physical confrontation, which is hopefully soon. They did have a little confrontation last week. This should grow with time, with Burke disrespecting the legend. *Knox segment serves to set up his match against Kane. I was shocked that Knox performed so well in that promo. As you say it builds well into the upcoming tournament match. *Layla vs Kelly Kelly - not sure what the purpose of the match was, as short as it was. I would have added that minute to a promo or something. It was just a way of getting the Women onto the show. I'm trying hard with both Kelly and Layla, but they're not quite there yet. *Henry/Knox/Nunzio vs Dreamer & The Highlanders - Good to see Dreamer & Henry being kept away. I was a little worried about this main event, but with Flair at ringside all six men delivered. *Final segment - not sure why Richards was picked for that spot. Not sure if it was entirely necessary. Maybe a Flair promo would have given it a little more oomph. It served as a nice way to bring back Stevie Richards in a position to team with Tommy Dreamer. **for next week, Snitsky/Striker/BDV better win, or they should hit the bricks. I'd be very surprised if the make-shift team of Sydal, Delaney and Posey win that match. SD! *Cherry vs Lavita Alere - why was this given almost 20 mins??? It was a dark match. Lavita has much better skills than Cherry and I was trying to help Cherry a little. *Batista/M.Hardy/Taker/McCool vs Edge/MVP/Umaga/Tracie - I thought this was the ME. Solid match, right ending, given enough time. Kudos. Thanks, I was going to have it as the main event but worried that Tracie and Michelle would bring the rating down. *Palumbo segment (much like the Kelly Kelly match from ECW) that minute would have been better served elsewhere. I'm trying out a new thing for Palumbo. I don't like him much so was going to book him as a bit of a pervert. *Deuce & Domino vs Noble/Colt Cabana - Doesn't do much for me, as Noble keeps playing musical partners. Noble's trying to find his feet. I'm actually a big fan of Jamie Noble, and would like to use him in future ECW episodes. Perhaps Hawkins and Ryder should have won, but I didn't want Mysterio to lose his first match back. *Festus segment seems out of place/out of character, but content was good. Featus is very popular with the audience, and I'm trying to evolve his character into a verbal one. *Finlay beat down by Helms & MVP; Finlay vs Haas - So Finlay gets jumped by two men and can still beat Charlie in under 2 minutes? Doesn't seem right. Perhaps it doesn't seem right, but it serves as putting Finlay over as a very tough fighting Irishman. *Helms vs Funaki - should have been a clean win. I didn't want Helms to pick up victories too easily, as his push may end up failing. *Edgehead 1 sucker punching Jesse doesn't do much for me, as far regaining some heat. You got it in one, it was a way of regaining heat following their earlier loss, and improved the heat for the title match at the Great American Bash alot. *Yang vs Kozlov - Is Kozlov getting fired? I know Yang is good, but come on, you job him out to UT last week, and now Yang? Kozlov doesn't do much for me, wheras Yang can be a top Cruiserweight if given some wins. *McCool/Batista/Alere/Maryse segment doesn't work for me, given the last line. Would have been nice for Batista to have stood up for her, or at least have McCool show more confidence. We're trying to have Michelle McCool look weak going into her match with Beth Phoenix. *Khali vs Murdoch - Khali should have won, but he's not a threat anymore. Not unless he beats UT, Kane & Batista down the line. Khali can still be a threat, but perhaps he would be better served in the United States division. They were the same matches last week, because they worked. They both build well towards Punk versus Show and the ECW Tag Team title match. *Final segment - Pretty good, but it almost guarantees MVP doing the job going into the Bash. I wouldn't say it guarantees MVP doing the job, but either way it won't do him any harm to be in the ring with the three Main Eventers.
Once again, thanks for your comments. They really help me put things into respective. Heat should be up at some point today.

Keep an eye out for who will be the King of all WWE. *How dare you bash Triple H watching and stalking the match. he was keeing an eye on his nemesis Cena and scouting him out for the Bash. So far from a throw away in my eyes more of a subtle way to keep up the tension. *The last line is ment to leave u thinking what, who and why lol. Sunday Night Heat 1) Finally Haas wins a match. Keeps his stock from falling any further, to the point where a win over him wouldn't mean anything. 2)Liked the segment with Money Inc. It shows Rhodes/Holly trying to get their bearings, while Money Inc. shows that while they're not ready to hang with the big boys (DX), Rhodes/Holly are NOT big boys. 3)Good win by Candice. You can't turn heel and immediately lose (unless you're worthless which defeats the purpose of the turn in the first place). 4)Poor Kozlov. Although Yang does have a win over him on an earlier SmackDown. Would have been nice to see Kozlov get a little revenge after the match or something. 5)Killings over Murdoch doesn't do much for me. Killings is too "new" (well, considering this is his return) and Murdoch hasn't done anything of note(Charlie Haas syndrome?). Good to see Killings win, though.

RAW: *Odd to see Naitch back. And coming un-invited to Shawn's side? I smell a possible turn (with Ric staying in the periphery). *Hardy/Kennedy vs JBL/Cade - I think it's a big win for Kennedy. Goes over Cade (rightfully so). I could see Kennedy as King, and Cade getting the win over Hardy. Good to see JBL get some heat back, though he didn't take the pin. *Santino vs Shannon Moore - would have preferred to have seen Santino get the clean pin. Especially over Moore who has been on a roll. One loss doesn't hurt Moore (especially against Santino) but it would have done wonders for Marella. *Odd reasoning for Candice to turn. It's obvious the Glamazon doesn't need her, having taken her out twice. Hopefully this builds up until Candice goes up against Beth down the line. *Money Inc vs Holly/Rhodes - Good to see Money Inc get the win, which they need. Hopefully Holly/Rhodes can get a win over some jobber team or they split up at some point soon. *McCool vs Melina - Good to see McCool get the win here. Hopefully she doesn't lose the belt at the Bash. *Melina gets beat down - I seriously hope this is not the end of the three woman team. It'd be nice to see Melina want to remain in the team and go crawling back to them, like Beth's lackey. *Stone Cold's announcement sets up the face off later on. Good enough. Would have liked to have seen this after the tag match. Austin would not have asked for them to leave. He would have MADE them leave. *Londrick vs MNM version 2 - Good to Londrick get the win. Especially with the belt on the line, no way they lose them to a team already holding gold. *I'll group the last few segments together since they seem to feed off each other. It's good to get all 4 in the ring at the end, but both of the competitors losing before their schedule match (Jericho/Michaels), I'm not sure how much I like. I would have preferred a handicap match thrown in there by Triple H (outsmarting Cena), but I can see why he chose Michaels.

Tuesday, Week 3, July, 2008 Before the show gets underway live on Sci-Fi, Alex Shelley makes his way to the ring with Kofi Kingston and Davey Richards. His opponent, The Big Show, is accompanied to the ring by Mike Knox and Nunzio: Alex Shelley versus The Big Show The end of this match exhausted big Show, as his age begins to show. Shelley doesn’t seem to click with the big man, as their styles clash. The match is possibly a little too long given the poor shape the Big Show is in. Tony Chimel announces Big Show with his following of Knox and Nunzio, as the crowd jeer. Big Show was impressive and wins the match after Knox and Nunzio threaten Davey and Kofi outside of the ring, allowing Show to hit a Chokeslam. Kingston is holding a microphone: Kofi: There you see, screwed again. At the Great American Bash this Sunday Show competes against CM Punk. What do we get? The fans show mild appreciation for the Jamaican Superstar as he hands the microphone to Davey Richards: Davey: That’s the thing. We are under-utilized, and under appreciated. Where’s our match at the Bash? Alex Shelley and Kofi Kingston both nod, seemingly agreeing to what Davey’s saying. Shelley is handed the microphone: Shelley: for three weeks running, Theodore Long has put me into a match before the show. We are the Young Bloods, and we deserve better. The fans begin to cheer for the three young Superstars, seemingly dubbed “The Young Bloods”, as we head to a commercial break. Rating: D+ Bam Neely & Chavo Guerrero versus The Highlanders Mike Adamle mentions Neely and Chavo’s undefeated streak for the past four weeks as Chavo Guerrero continues to shine. Destiny also seems off his game, along with Matt Sydal, who are both thrown around the ring like rag dolls. The crowd are clearly not impressed with the return of Snitsky, as Joey Styles explains that Snitsky has been absent for personal reasons. Big Daddy V looks good in this match, as the fans boo the behemoth. Mike Posey eventually hits Big Daddy V with a shocking right hand, and quickly tags in Matt Sydal. Sydal hits some high impact manoeuvres on Big Daddy V, before Big Daddy V tags in Snitsky, who pins Sydal following an Egoist Schwein, otherwise known as a Pumphandle Slam. Big Show takes a microphone and addresses the crowd: Big Show: This Sunday at the Great American Bash I battle CM Punk, who beat me three weeks ago in a fluke victory. Before Big Show can say anything else CM Punk’s music hits the arena, and he confidently makes his way to the ring with a microphone: Punk: Big Show we all saw how dominant you were earlier, we know your credentials. Which is why it surprises me to see you here not alone, but with your flunkies. The crowd cheer for the guts of Mister Money In the Bank as Mike Knox takes the microphone from the Big Show: Knox: Tonight Nunzio and myself once again team up with the ECW Champion Mark Henry in the main event. We’re not flunkies we’re big news. Knox gives the microphone to Nunzio, who, next to the two big men, is able to stroll up to Punk’s face: Nunzio: You know what Punk? I don’t know how you won that briefcase. You don’t deserve it. Nunzio then suddenly slaps Punk, and Punk is about to retaliate when Knox rushes at him with a Clothesline. To finish things off, Big Show hits a huge Chokeslam on CM Punk as we head to a commercial break, with the fans booing the meanness of Show. Rating: C Hornswoggle & Boogeyman versus Elijah Burke & Shelton Benjamin Elijah Burke seems a little off his game tonight, as the Number One Contenders to the ECW Tag Team titles continue to impress. Joey Styles comments on the up-hill battle Benjamin faces at the Great American Bash, when he takes on the Monster, Kane. Boogeyman works wonders with Hornswoggle, with Boogeyman hitting a huge Powerslam on Burke, then tagging in Hornswoggle, who hits a Tadpole Splash on Burke for the victory. That talk you gave Burke last week, it really made me realise how important respect is in this business. Jim Duggan puts his two-by-four onto the floor and shakes the hand of Delaney, clearly impressed with the youngster: Duggan: Thanks. You’ll get there someday kid. The ECW Tag Team Champions are doing well in the match, but clearly looking ahead to their title defence on Sunday. Before long the new generation of Money Inc hits the ring, and, whilst the referee is with The Miz, Teddy DiBiase attacks Cody, and Harry Smith knocks down Hardcore Holly with a Powerslam. Money Inc then quickly run to the back, allowing Morrison to hit the Moonlight Drive on Holly to win the match. He takes a microphone from ringside and addresses the fans in attendance: Kane: Three weeks ago I got screwed out of the ECW Championship. I want it back, but first Benjamin has challenged me to a match at the Bash. Before Kane can say anything else Benjamin is seen spring boarding off of the top rope, and takes down Kane with a huge bulldog. Benjamin picks up the microphone: Benjamin: Everybody forgets about the Gold Standard, everybody looks past the Gold Standard. Burke and myself may have lost earlier, but I’ll be victorious on Sunday. As the fans jeer the athletic superstar, Benjamin sees Kane has got to his feet, and hits an Inverted Bulldog, dubbed the “Gold Standard” to leave Kane lifeless in the ring as we head to a commercial break. Rating: B Layla versus Eve Torres The crowd show little support for Eve Torres, and Layla receives an even worse reaction from the live audience. Layla seems off of her game tonight. Tazz informs the fans at home that due to Layla beating Kelly last week on ECW, she wanted some fresh competition, and SmackDown’s Eve Torres answered the challenge. The crowd are not into the match at all, and it comes to an end when Kelly’s music hits, and Eve turns around to see what’s happening, allowing Layla to hit a Neckbreaker to win the match. Mark Henry and Estrada come to ringside together, and the pairing are both booed heavily by the fans in attendance. Mike Adamle mentions that this is the last time Dreamer and Henry will be in the same ring together until the Great American Bash. CM Punk looks good out there, hitting Nunzio with several high impact kicks, before tagging in Stevie Richards, who succeeds with highflying offence until Mike Knox tags Mark Henry into the match. Stevie immediately tags the fresh man Tommy Dreamer into the contest, but the World’s Strongest Slam from Mark Henry soon stops him short, winning the match for his team. ECW: *Shelley vs Show - Show wins in a lackluster performance (nearly 20 minutes to dispose of Shelley?) I know it's a dark match, but still. *Youngbloods - not too interested until they decide to attack someone or do something memorable. Right now they're just there. I don't see how banding together will get them a match though, so hopefully they will be heels disrespecting people. Then again, Burke is already filling that role. *Chavo/Bam vs Highlanders - It would be nice to see Chavo & Bam challenged at some point. These squashes don't do much for anyone involved. *Destiny/Sydal/Posey vs Snitsky/Viscera/Striker - Too long, though the right team went over. Maybe match times should have been closer together between this one and the last match. *Show & Lackeys segment against Punk - Well, this outcome almost guarantees Punk gets the win at the PPV. Show should have put the beating on Punk, not Nunzio & Knox. Show doesn't need a brute squad, he IS the brute squad. *Freaks vs Benjamin/Burke - someone (hopefully MNM version 2) puts an end to the madness that is the tadpole splash. And if this doesn't lead to some confrontation between Burke and Duggan over Burke losing to Hornswoggle, a more suitable opponent could have been found. *Delaney & Duggan - Duggan should have said something to Burke about his loss, not Delaney. *MNM version 2 vs Holly/Rhodes - Don't really like the interference by Money Inc. I mean, losing to Londrick and needing help to beat Holly/Rhodes in consecutive shows doesn't have the champs looking as too much of a threat against the odd couple. *Kane/Benjamin segment - Benjamin shouldn't be talking too much. Losses to The Odd Couple in consecutive weeks? I know he didn't take the pin after the Tadpole Splash (Haas & Burke did) but he couldn't save them? *Layla vs Eve - Huh? Short match as it should be. But Kelly Kelly's music hits...and she doesn't come out? Did I miss something? *Henry/Knox/Nunzio vs Dreamer/Punk/Richards - Henry should have pinned Richards, not Dreamer. Especially leading into the GAB.

The Undertaker’s performance stands out as he dominates the majority of the match. At the Great American Bash Edge will have to defend his World Championship against both Undertaker and Batista in a Triple Threat match. Michael Cole mentions Mysterio’s success in his first match back last week, and the United States Champion Matt Hardy impresses with Side Effects on both Palumbo and Kozlov. Rey Mysterio is soon tagged in and hits highflying offence on both Tag Team Champions, before tagging in one of the Number One Contenders Jesse. Jesse sends Deuce running after a dropkick, and he tags in Kozlov. Jesse quickly tags in the bigger Matt Hardy, who soon pins the Russian after a Twist of Fate. It’s just a tag match Deadman. That means nothing. Edge holds the title up high, clearly praying that he will remain Champion after the Triple Threat with Undertaker and Batista on Sunday at the Great American Bash, before the lights go out, and when they come back on, Undertaker is in the ring. He Chokeslam’s Edge and holds the title in the air. Rating: B+ As Undertaker poses with the World Heavyweight Championship the Animal Batista’s music hits, and he rushes to ringside to a chorus of cheers. He takes the microphone from the mat: Batista: Undertaker you got the pin last week, you got the pin tonight. Seems you want all of the attention on you. You’re forgetting it’s a Triple Threat at the Great American Bash. It won’t be Edge, it won’t be you, it will be me that will leave on Sunday as the World Heavyweight Champion. The fans cheer the Animal and the crowd erupt in cheers as the two Superstars square off for the third week running. Rating: B+ The Undertaker stares blankly at the Animal, before grabbing the microphone from him, he is about to speak before Edge runs back in the ring with another microphone: Edge: That’s my World Heavyweight Championship! For weeks it’s been about the two of you. Forget about me, and you’ll see what’ll happen on Sunday. Batista grabs the microphone back from The Undertaker, and walks away from him to confront the Champion: Batista: You screwed me out of the title on more than one occasion; I should have won that belt at Night of Champions. This Sunday, Great American Bash, Triple Threat, you’re right, we shouldn’t forget about you. We should destroy you, then I’ll regain my World Heavyweight Championship. Batista and Edge square up face to face, eye to eye, and throw their microphones on the floor, before Undertaker gets between them, grabs both of their throats, and Chokeslams both of them as the show comes to a close. Rating: B+ Show Rating: D+

Ask and you shall receive... My thoughts on SD: 1) Unless there's a storyline developing here (crossing my fingers that there isn't) shouldn't the dark match be better used to find people who work well together, and not have the same match (same participants, same result, more or less the same time)? 2)UT/Batista vs Edge/MVP - MVP takes the fall as expected, but horrible placement of the match, given how the show ended. More on that later. 3)Edgeheads vs Noble & his partner du jour - at least it keeps the Edgeheads strong. 4)Deuce smoking a cigar - was this absolutely necessary? Didn't build up to anything it seemed. 5)Domino beats down Festus - Hopefully Jesse & Festus win the belts because they've been chumps all month it seems. 6)Finlay vs Khali - Horrible ending to the match. Not the fact that Finlay won (as he's beaten Khali in the past), but the manner in which he won. And he picked him up for the Celtic Cross? I can understand Cena with the FU, but Finlay? Moving on. 7)Helms vs Funaki - Why protect Funaki with the tights when Helms is a bigger name to begin with? 8)Hawkins & Jesse - See the Domino/Festus comment. 9)Umaga vs Yang - Doesn't do much for me on paper. Umaga should have plowed through Yang though. 10)Tracie & Lavita segment with Michelle & Cherry - Why you'd want a face champ to look weak going into the match on Sunday is beyond me. If she was challenging, insurmountable odds would work (further down the road). But as week as she's looked, if she wins then her opponent looks worse. And if her opponent wins, she beat someone who is weak. 11)Maryse vs Eve - until these matches develop, they seem like filler. These couple minutes of divas would be best served in the dark matches. 12)Boogeyman vs Big Daddy V - Again? Really? They didn't much impress the first two weeks. And again, with how The Odd Couple has been booked, they shouldn't lose to MNM version 2. At least this is the last we'll see of this match up for a while. 13)Hardy/Jesse/Festus/Mysterio vs Kozlov/Palumbo/Deuce/Domino - Not sure why some of these people were involved in the match, but Kozlov gets jobbed again. 14)Edge/Batista/UT segment - this is why I have a problem with the opening match. The whole point was so Edge could rest more (not sure how 2 hours would make a big difference) but he decides to get into the ring again and gets beat down? I sure hope Edge retains, but who knows.

Good smackdown this week, i enjoyed it. Some things weird were Helms needing tights to beat Funaki but I think you have a push for Funaki coming and Finaly getting Khali in the Celtic Cross, is the possible?, What ever its pro wrestling anything can happen, all in all good smackdown.
