Typical beginning with the Sons of Lucha Libre coming out on top of the early exchanges until Destination Greatness take a shortcut to seize the advantage with Brendan Idol sneaking in a low blow on Capitao Brasil Jr. Capitao then found himself ensnared in the Destination Greatness corner, who took it upon themselves to taunt just above everyone in the arena whilst they worked over Capitao. There constant shortcuts and badmouthing incensed El Mitico Jr, but his willingness to 'help' his partner became more of a hindrance, allowing for the challengers to just get in more cheap shots to gradually wear down the 'Brazilian' However when they went to plant Capitao onto the top rope with a double team flapjack, Capitao managed to flip out and then nail Starr and Idol with a double springboard dropkick, Capitao then tried to get the tag out to Mitico but Starr managed to drag Capitao back and plant the 'Brazilian' with a belly to back suplex for a two count. Starr and Idol then combined on a Backbreaker/Guillotine Leg Drop for another two count, before Starr set up for a stalling vertical suplex...that lead to another two count. Destination Greatness at this point were starting to become a bit frustrated that they hadn't worn Capitao down enough to put him away. The c0cky challengers then set up for a dropkick/suplex combo but this resulted in a miscommunication and Capitao rolled Starr up for a quick two count, that was broken up by Idol. The challengers then set up for another double team but this way quickly countered into a bulldog/headscissors combination from Capitao. Capitao then finally got the hot tag into Mitico, who cleaned house on the challengers with a flurry of clotheslines, the silver masked luchadore then pitched Brendan Idol over with a back body drop, Idol managed to land on the ring apron but got knocked off with a spear from Mitico. Brett Starr then clubbed Mitico from behind and delivered a flurry of clubbing forearms before whipping Mitico into the corner. Starr then pitched Mitico onto the top turnbuckle but got shoved off and Mitico came crashing down with a FROGSPLASH !! One....... Two..... Thr.... Brendan Idol dived in to make the save, that brought Capitao in but he got quickly pitched to the floor by Idol who then landed a spinning heel kick on Mitico. Idol then placed Starr the legal man on Mitico, but the silver masked luchadore was able to kick out. Both then lay on the mat looking to tag out but it was Starr who was able to tag out first to Idol who took Mitico out with a basement drop kick. Idol then headed up top and went for a moonsault only for Mitico to get the knees up....... Mitico then immediately followed that up by planting Idol with the QUICKSILVER SUPLEX ! One.... Two.... Thr...... Brett Starr dived in to make the save, but was then sent out of the ring with a springboard headscissors take down from Capitao Brasil...... At that point Mitico picked up the already dazed Idol and firmly planted the arrogant challenger with the MITICO DRIVER ! One..... Two...... Three !! The Sons of Lucha Libre had retained the titles once again, and with them now holding them for a full nine months, many would be now thinking if they could retain them for the whole calendar year. Formula stuff which is to say it was OK but they did nothing out of the ordinary here to make it particularly memorable. The Tag Team Division is kind of in a rebuilding phase right now and hopefully with time Destination Greatness will have improved enough to put in better performances. Admittedly I did kind of shoot myself in the foot with the stip that Animal Magic could not challenge for the belts until The Sons of Lucha Libre lost them, the problem with that is that teams like Primal Shock, No! Dance2Win and now Destination Greatness were never really either good enough nor over enough to win the belts. Result: The Sons of Lucha Libre defeated Destination Greatness in 9:40 when El Mítico Jr defeated Brendan Idol by pinfall. This one begins very similarly to the Six Man Elimination Tag between these two factions back in April at Mejor Que Nuestro Mejor with the match beginning as a chaotic all out brawl with referee Dewey Libertin struggling to keep control, amidst the chaos through their willingness to take more shortcuts the Batch Enterprises Inc. quartet seize control and soon have Matt Hocking isolated. Hocking tries in vein to make it back to his corner and tag out but in the end he is just overwhelmed by the numbers game and despite surviving the Move#54 (Forward Russian Legsweep) he does full victim to Xavier a High Impact Frogsplash for Xavi Ferrera, as Batch Enterprises take an early lead. Elimination #1: Matt Hocking @3:57 (pinfall, Xavi Ferrera) Team FREEDOM 3- Batch Enterprises Inc. 4 I then entered the ring and managed to stun Ferrera with a leg lariat, before setting up for the C.R Driver but the man who claims to be hotter than piri piri managed to block and drive me into the Batch Enterprises Inc. corner. The match then settled down with the Batch Enteprises quartet working me over in their corner but not doing enough to put me away, instead on Batch's instructions he wanted them to dish out more 'punishment' and send a 'message'. This over confidence and display of arrogance ultimately back fired on them though as I was able to plant Nicky R!ot with a bulldog after reversing a vertical suplex and then nail the rest of the Batch quartet with a series of dropkicks before slumping to the mat out of sheer exhaustion. K-Zing then got back up and cut me off from making the tag but I managed to roll through is legs and get the tag into Primus. The powerhouse then cleaned house knocking down the Batch Enterprise quartet like a set of bowling pins with flurry of hard hitting clotheslines. Before scooping up and firmly planting K-Zing with the POWER PLANT (running Powerslam) Elimination #2: K-Zing @ 9:42 (pinfall, Primus) Team FREEDOM 3- Batch Enterprises Inc. 3 B-Pev then entered the ring but then immediately got knocked into the next year with a Rrruuuusssh !! (High Speed Shoulder Tackle) from the dominating Primus. Elimination #3: B-Pev @ 9:55 (pinfall, Primus) Team FREEDOM 3- Batch Enterprises Inc. 2 However the powerhouse finally got stopped in his tracks as R!ot and Xavi Ferrera combined on a leg-sweep, clothesline comination to plant Primus onto the canvas. Primus no-sold it and got straight back to his feet but walked right into a Superkick from Ferrera and was then nailed with a SUB POP BOP from R!ot. Jared Johnson then tried to come into make the save but was cut off by Xavi Ferrera, who just seconds earlier had knocked myself off the apron. Elimination #4: Primus @ 10:21 (pinfall, Nicky R!ot) Jared Johnson then found himself isolated in the Batch Enterprises Inc. corner, a vertical suplex/leg-drop combo from R!ot and Ferrera almost put the Carolina born youngster away but Johnson bravely held on. The Batch Enteprises pair then set up for a Superkick assisted Belly to Back Suplex but Double J saw it coming and Ferrera ending up sending R!ot spark out instead. Johnson then quickly rolled R!ot up for a crucifix pin only for Ferrera to make the save. Ferrera then and Johnson then went into chain wrestling sequence where it looked like the young man with the portuguese heritage was about to take Double J out with the FERRERANA (Kip Up 'rana) but Johnson managed to block and counter into a powerbomb. However Double J was unable to make the cover out of sheer exhaustion and both looked to tag in. It was Johnson who was able to get the tag in first , as I took Ferrera out with a missile drop-kick and then immediately charged to the corner and knocked Nicky R!ot off the apron with a running drop-kick, that however saw me take my eye off Ferrera and the c0cky youngster was back up to rock me with a spinning heel kick. Ferrera then set me up for a powerbomb and pointed to the corner, but in doing so he had telegraphed what he was about to do next and I countered into a victory roll for a flash pin to eliminate Ferrera and give us back the advantage. Elimination #5: Xavi Ferrera @ 13:19 (pinfall, Charles Rainier) Team FREEDOM 2- Batch Enteprises Inc. 0 R!ot however immediately cheap shotted Jared Johnson from behind and immediately planted the youngster from Carolina with a CHARLES PETERSON (Exploder Suplex) but just as it looked like he had evened the sides once again, I dived in to make the save.....a livid Nick R!ot then nailed me with SUB POP BOP before tossing me out of the ring as I was not the legal man. R!ot then turned his attentions back to Jared Johnson, tossing Double J into the corner and setting Johnson up on the top turnbuckle. R!ot obviously had a superplex in mind but Johnson was playing possum and instead reversed into an MDK POWERBOMB ! to send R!ot crashing to the mat and that was enough for Team FREEDOM to emerge the victors in this Elimination match. Somewhat rushed with the eliminations tending to come in short spurts of one another, this was however still a relatively fun match and did it's job as midcard filler. However the manner of Team FREEDOM's victory, especially with Johnson once again getting the better of Nicky R!ot does suggest that the battle between these two factions has somewhat been put to bed for the time being. Final Elimination: Nicky R!ot @ 14:51 (pinfall, Jared Johnson) Result: Charles Rainier, Jared Johnson and Primal Shock defeated Nicky R!ot, Xavi Ferrera and No ! Dance2Win in 14:51; Matt Hocking was eliminated first, then K-Zing, then B-Pev, then Primus, then Xavi Ferrera and finally Nicky R!ot. Rating: C- __________________________________________________ Match #3: Ladder War for the People's Championship: Angel De Mexico vs Amazing Fire Fly vs Angel De Mexico has held the People's Championship since March when he effectively turned on his now former ally Amazing Fire Fly. Since then Angel has recently seen the Sons of Lucha Libre also turn their back on him. As soon as Angel De Mexico headed up the entrance ramp towards the ring he was taken out with a tope con hilo from Fire Fly, who literally looked like a colourful blur as he came soaring through the ropes. Keeping the early momentum going Fire Fly then hopped up onto the guard-rail using it as a launch pad to spike Angel into the entrance ramp with a Tornado DDT ! It was at that point the dimunititive high flyer looked for a ladder to try and gain an early victory. But Fire Fly due to his considerable lack of size took time to bring a ladder into the ring, and as he was setting it up, a now recovered Angel De Mexico took Fire Fly down with a springboard drop-kick. Fire Fly smashed into the ladder, which fell on impact, Angel now with things swinging in his favour took Fire Fly over and firmly planted his former ally onto the fallen ladder with a German suplex ! Angel then stomped away on Fire Fly before planting Fire Fly face onto the same ladder with a Forward Legsweep. The former LEA then jawed with the crowd, who for years had cheered him but now felt nothing but disdain for the man he had become, as he set himself up on the top turnbuckle, but as he came crashing down with a Frogsplash, Fire Fly moved out of the way and Angel ended up sacrificing his own body for no reward in return. Angel then staggered to his feet only to be taken down with a flurry of headscissor take downs from the dimunitive Fire Fly, who eventually transitioned the sequence into the Infest Hazard (Triangle Choke) of course this was not a move that was going to win Fire Fly the match but it proved effective in neutralising and wearing down Angel De Mexico, enough for Fire Fly to have a free reign at re-setting up the ladder. But as Fire Fly almost got to the top, Angel stirred once again and managed to unbalanace the ladder enough for Fire Fly to begin to become unsure of his footing, that allowed for Angel to climb up behind Fire Fly and bring the diminutive high flyer crashing back into the ring with a belly to back superplex ! As they both staggered back to their feet Angel took Fire Fly down with a leg lariat, before picking up the ladder and using it as a battering ram to knock Fire Fly senseless. With Fire Fly down Angel then began to reset the ladder undeneath the People's Championship belt that was hanging above the ring but Fire Fly was far from done and as Angel began to steady himself, the LEA man springboarded in off the apron to drop-kick the ladder into Angel De Mexico. Angel then fell face first onto the ladder as both himself and the object both he and Fire Fly were trying to climb bounced back off the ropes. Angel then lay somewhat motioneless on the ladder, leading to Fire Fly to make the decision to bring another ladder into play. But as Fire Fly set up the second ladder, it turned out that Angel was playing possum and he low blowed Fire Fly from behind, just as the ultra fast high flyer was beginning his ascent. Angel De Mexico then looked began to climb the ladder Fire Fly has just bought into play himself, but decided to launch himself off the ladder to take Fire Fly with a moonsault press instead. Angel then stomped away on Fire Fly a bit more before setting up for the Acapulco Twist, Fire Fly was able to block that before Angel decided to switch to trying a vertical suplex only for Fire Fly to counter that into a stunner, that then lead to Angel staggering into a flying headsissors that sent him crashing out of the ring. Fire Fly then set up to take down the belt once again but Angel was up again and this time nailed the diminutive high flying sensation from behind with a steel chair. Angel then continued to assault Fire Fly with the steel chair, before setting the chair up in a seated position to then deliver an ACALPULCO TWIST onto the chair ! Angel then set up the ladder feeling somewhat confident that he had done enough to put Fire Fly down to have a clear run at the belt. However as he almost got the top he suddenly changed his mind and with a sadistic smirk on his face, turned his attention back to Fire Fly to inlict more punishment on his former ally. Angel then decided to bring the ladder down and with the other ladder in the ring set them up between the ring apron and the guard-rail and whatever he had in mind it wasn't going to be good for Amazing Fire Fly. Angel then dragged Fire Fly out onto the pair of ladders that were placed precariously between the apron and ringside barricade, before setting up another ACAPULCO TWIST ! but Angel's arrogance was to soon cost him as Fire Fly was playing possum and countered with a leg-sweep that sent the former LEA crashing back first onto the ladder. Fire Fly then wondering what to do next then somewhat gingerly climbed up to the top turnbuckle, before coming off the top turbuckle to come crashing down upon Angel De Mexico with the SKY HIGH FIRE FLY, causing the ladders underneath to buckle and to leave both Angel and Fire Fly laying on a heap on the outside. Of course Angel felt the worse of it and Fire Fly was up first, bringing one of the buckled ladders back into the ring, but as he set it up, he noticed the ladder was far from stable........ Luckily enough for Fire Fly, help suddenly came to hand as the Sons of Lucha Libre then came out to help steady the ladder for Fire Fly, to climb to the top and reclaim the People's Championship before Angel De Mexico could come back to his senses ! A stop-start spot-fest but pretty entertaining none the less. Angel giving up the chance to take down the belt when he did, should make sense in the context that he is jealous of the fact that Fire Fly has reclaimed his spot in the LEA , somewhat at Angel's expenses and he is wanting to send a message to those that abandoned him. Result: Amazing Fire Fly defeated Ángel De México in a 1 vs 1 (Ladder) match in 14:52 when Amazing Fire Fly retrieved the item. After five minutes of repetitive kick-punch, attempted power move action,......Atlas managed to overpower PRP and shove the GDA man into the corner, before stomping away to the point that the patriotic hero could not get out of the corner. That brought a warning from referee Michael 'No BS' Bull but that only seemed to anger Atlas more, and the Mainstream Nation monster shoved Bull aside to continue the assault. Bull was having none of that and called for the bell, for the lame DQ. Mind you given the match was a mind numbing big man brawl before that, that might not have been so much of a bad thing. This was an pretty even contest that perhaps went on a little too long for a match the fans weren't really all that interested in. Queen sort of played the de-facto heel but need not really go that way enough to get the fans invested into the match. The finish saw Quentin Queen get up a head of steam to set up for the Q-Ball, after Double Q had brought Boriken crashing in off the top turnbuckle with a superplex. However Boriken was able to block the Q-Ball and quickly rolled Queen up, to 'steal' the victory with a flash pin and to leave Queen feeling further frustrated. Even when someone (that being Speed) did make the first move it was done with such cautiion as to not commit himself too much and leave himself open to an effective counter from Daniels. The first few minutes continued to pan out like this, a cat and mouse game, both of their mindsets definitely more on defence than offence at this stage. Eventually they did begin to lock up fully, where the struggle to get the advantage went to the mat. The first significant moment seemed to happen when Speed managed to grab the ankle of Daniels, but the champion was able to slip out of that and then roll Speed up...... Speed kicked out of the pin attempt and then rolled through to grab Daniels ankle again but once again got kicked off. Speed then came charging back at Daniels but got tossed over head with a release belly to belly suplex, as the match began to move up a gear. Speed then staggered back to his feet but stumbled right into a lariat from Dean Daniels, that brought the champion a two count. Daniels then lifted Speed back up to a vertical base and looked set to deliver a snap suplex but Speed was able to block and countered with a Hammerlock Divorce Court, driving Daniels shoulder first into the mat, where the 2014 Rey De Reyes winner immediately transitioned into the SPEEDBREAKER 2000 but Daniels wasn't really worn down enough at this stage and the former Affliction Trinity man bravely made it to the ropes. Speed then went to get in a cheap shot on the rope break, but Daniels was able to cut him off and fired back with a series of fore-arms and chops that had Speed on the back foot. Daniels then whipped Speed hard into the corner and came charging in, only for the Batch Enteprises man to bail to the outside and take a powder. But as Speed was getting consoled by Carl Batch on the outside Dean Daniels launched himself off the ring apron to nail Speed with a flying knee strike. Daniels then went to bring Speed back into the ring only for Batch to put himself in harms way. Daniels shoved the mothermouthed manager aside but Batch's intervention proved to be enough of a distraction for Speed to shove Daniels shoulder first into the ring-post. That turned the momentum in Speed's favour and after a quick pin attempt, Speed went to work on the arm and shoulder of the champion, even at one stage wrapping Daniels arm round the ring post and delivering a running knee strike to the increasingly injured right arm of the champion. Speed then went to lock on the Speedbreaker 2000 once again but despite being in agony, Daniels saw what was coming next and countered into a quick roll up..... One,...... Two...... Thr....... Daniels lack of arm strenght meant he was unable to retain a good grip but he was able to kick Speed away before the Batch Enteprrise man could try to re-apply the Speedbreaker 2000. Speed then came charging back at Daniels, but the champion was able to pitch Speed onto the top-rope with a flapjack before planting Speed with a German Suplex into a bridging pin...... One..... Two...... Thr..... Daniels was unable to hold the bridge, and as they both got their feet Speed was there to deliver a boot to the mid-section and then drill Daniels into the mat with the SPEED SNAP ! (Double Arm DDT)..... One...... Two...... Daniels kicked out but Speed immediately was able to apply the SPEEDBREAKER 2000 ! Once again though ring positioning was Dean Daniels friend and he was able to make it to the ropes, before Speed could synch the hold in long enough for Daniels to begin to fade. Speed managed to retain control after the rope break with a flurry of strikes, and then a drop-kick that sent Daniels slumping into the corner. Speed then lined up to nail Daniels with the SPEED STRIKE but all of a sudden Daniels exploded out of the corner to take Speed down with a explosive clothesline. Daniels then slumped to the mat favouring the right arm that Speed had been working over, but the clothesline was enough to buy Daniels some time to try and regroup. As they staggered back to their feet it was Daniels who seized the momentum with a roaring elbow, before setting up for the Raise The Stakes but he was unable to get Speed up, his arm strength giving way, leading to Speed to counter with a basement drop kick that cut Daniels down to his knees, before immediately following in with the SPEED STRIKE (Shining Wizard)...... One........ Two....... Thr........ Daniels kicked out, as Carl Batch showed his frustration on the outside. Speed however stayed cool and calculating in the ring and waited for Daniels to start stirring back to his feet as he lined up for another Speed Strike but this time Daniels saw it coming and was able to block, before planting Speed onto the mat with a drop toe hold Daniels then immediately went to apply a Boston Crab but Speed was able to turn over onto this back and then ensnare Daniels into the SPEEDBREAKER 2000, but the Undisputed Champion was able to find the strength to lift Speed up into a powerbomb that he immediately transitioned into a jacknife pin..... One...... Two........ Thr......... Once again Daniels weakness in his arms, saw him have to give the pin up..... Back to their feet and Speed nailed Daniels with a drop-kick, but the champion stayed on his feet and drilled Speed with a roaring elbow, before ensnaring Speed into a double underhook to unleash the flurry of RELENTLESS TRAPPED KNEE STRIKES ! But Speed held on in there and Daniels grip began to weaken again, before Speed took Daniels down with a chop block and immediately went to apply the SPEEDBREAKER 2000 but Daniels was able to block and managed to trap Speed into position for a suplex......the champion then reeled off a Tri-fecta of snap suplexes....... One.... Two....... Speed kicked out, Daniels then booted Speed into the mid-section and looked for Raise The Stakes, only for Speed to block and try to counter with a Speed snap....Daniels blocked that and then stunned Speed with an elbow strike before lifting Speed up for another attempt at RAISE THE STAKES (Cradle Piledriver)....this time Daniels was able to nail it....... One..... Two........ Three !!! Dean Daniels had managed to succesfully defend the Undisputed Championship and was able to even the score with the man who pipped him to the Rey De Reyes. The match began very slowly but built nicely around Speed working over Daniels right arm as he looked to apply the Speedbreaker 2000, in the end the champion was able to dig down/have a bit of luck on his side to make it through a tough first title defence. Ultimate Phoenix, the evergreen heroic masked man of FCW came out to the biggest cheers, Phoenix Negra and Apathy both coming out to mixed reactions, whilst Mainstream Hernandez as expected was booed roundly as he entered the cage. What was also unique was that escape could only be achieved by climbing out of the cage and not through the door, and even then the escapees had to claim one of the flags postioned at each corner of the cage to signify a succesful escape and as the door closed behind them the bell rang to signify that this potentially career changing match had begun........ As expected the first few minutes were filled with tension, all four competitors eager not to show their hand too much. Eventually The Brothers Phoenix decided to work together and turn their attentions to Mainstream Hernandez, taking out the Mainstream Nation leader with a high low attack whilst Apathy simply looked on. The Brothers Phoenix then set up for a double team suplex on Hernandez only for Apathy to make his move and level the former tag champions with a double clothesline. Apathy then signalled to Mainstream Hernandez that they should start stomping down on The Brothers Phoenix, which drew some big boos from the fans as it looked like Apathy was taking the decision to re-align with Hernandez. Apathy then powerbombed Phoenix Negra against the cage, whilst Mainstream Hernandez planted Ultimate Phoenix into the mat with the PONTIAC TO HOME ! (Swinging Reverse STO) with both of The Brothers Phoenix down Apathy then pointed Mainstream Hernandez towards the one of the turnbuckles to signify that the Mainstream Nation leader should start climbing the cage, something that drew even more displeasure from the crowd. It looked as though this may have been the plan all along with the Mainstream Nation, to make everyone including the FCW commisioner Sara Silver believe that they were falling apart, when really they were setting a trap all along, the confident smirk on Hernandez face certainly seemed to signify this to be the case. But as Hernandez began to climb, Ultimate Phoenix was back to his feet and he sent the Mainstream Nation leader face first into the cage, sending the Mainstreamer crashing backfirst into the centre of the ring. Meanwhile Apathy had turned his attentions back to Phoenix Negra, Phoenix then pondered whether to escape the cage or go back and help his 'brother'....Phoenix decided on the latter nailing Apathy with a missile drop-kick .Negra then sprung off the cage to nail Apathy with a springboard roundhouse kick to send the former Mainstream member member into the clutches of Phoenix Negra who then was able to plant Apathy ont the canvas with an Elemental Suplex. However Mainstream Hernandez was back to his feet and he was able to nail Phoenix with a SUPERKICK ! Ultimate Phoenix however was beginning his escape from the cage only for Mainstream Hernandez to cut him off and then send Negra crashing back into the ring with a top-rope DDT. Mainstream Hernandez then applied the LOVE ME NOW ! on Ultimate Phoenix, and thought it wasn't a move that would help the Mainstreamer escape the cage, it was one that could prove to be effective in taking out a potential roadblock in making a succesful escape from the cage. With Negra 'neutralised' after the Love Me Now, the seemingly re-united Mainstream Nation pair turned their attention back to delivering a major beat-down on Ultimate Phoenix, as Mainstream Hernandez delivered a trio of superkicks to the popular masked man, proceeding to taunt Phoenix between each one and it looked like he was not done with dishing out the punishment or ordering it to be dished out, as Apathy set up to plant Phoenix into the mat with his devastating finisher The Solution (Vertical Suplex side slam) but with the MN pairs focus entirely on dishing out punishment to Ultimate Phoenix, a now recovered Phoenix Negra all of a sudden had a free run at trying to escape the cage, but as he looked back to see Apathy about to plant Phoenix into the mat he suddenly turned back and to the pleasant surprise of the fans he launched himslef off the top rope to nail Apathy with a missle drop-kick. Mainstream Hernandez then went to nail Negra with a super-kick but Negra was able to side step out of the way and the Mainstreamer ending up connecting with Apathy !. Negra then nailed Hernandez with a spin-kick and then drilled the Mainstreamer with a BRAINBUSTER ! but as he started to climbed the cage he was clubbed from behind by Apathy who then set Negra up for a powerbomb only for Negra to counter into headscissors that drove Apathy face first into the cage. Phoenix was now up and GDA pair combined to nail Apathy with stereo drop-kicks to the back of the head. Hernandez was now back up but got taken down with a high/low spin kick attack from the Brothers Phoenix. Then the masked duo delivered stereo kicks to the head and then stereo BRAINBUSTERS ! The Brothers Phoenix celebrated and Phoenix Negra pointed for Ultimate Phoenix to make the escape but as Phoenix climbed up to the top turnbuckle...Negra all of a sudden snuck up from behind and low blowed ! Phoenix to the shock of the crowd, before delivering an AVALANCHE BRAINBUSTER ! Phoenix then stood above his fallen brother, before delivering a stream of taunts, something that drew a chorus of boos from the crowd, who had realised they had just witnessed Negra turn on the ever popular Ultimate Phoenix. Negra then began to make his escape but then turned back round and with a wicked smirk etched on across the unhidden part of his face, he lifted up the already dazed Ultimate Phoenix to deliver the CERTAIN DEATH (Vertebreaker !) It was then that Negra started to make his escape.....Apathy was now back up but realising that Negra had left Phoenix for 'dead' deciced against trying to prevent Negra from being the first one to climb to the top of the cage, grab a flag and become the first one to make a succesful escape from the cage ! Escapee #1: Phoenix Negra @ 15:45 With Ultimate Phoenix left in a heap, the Mainstream Nation pair now seemed to have free reign at climbing out of the cage together, but all of a sudden Apathy nailed Mainstream Hernandez from behind with a clothesline, before whipping the Mainstream Nation leader against the cage. Apathy then used the momentum to drill Hernandez with with another clothesline, before slamming the Mainstreamer into the canvas with THE SOLUTION ! (Vertical Suplex side slam).... Apathy then stood over the virtually motionless form of Mainstream Hernandez, and then decided to take off the eerie mask that had hidden his identity since coming into FCW, to reveal Jean Cattley..... Cattley then taunted Mainstream Hernandez, before making his escape from the cage, only for Atlas and Joseph of the Mainstream Nation to climb up onto the apron and charge the cage, causing the now former Apathy to lose his footing and fall back into the ring. Ultimate Phoenix was now stirring back to life and began to climb the cage himself but like Cattley found Atlas and Joseph making their prescence felt.....that allowed for Mainstream Hernandez to stir once again and he was able to cut Phoenix off......and the pair battled it out on the top turnbuckle to try and get a free run at being able to escape the cage.....only for Cattley to come up behind both of them and sending everyone crashing back into the ring with a Double Superplex !! After all three got back up, each of them headed for a corner and began their ascent out of the cage, but unfortunately for the former Apathy and Ultimate Phoenix, they were cut off by Atlas and Joseph respectively, seemingly giving Mainstream Hernandez a free run out of the cage but all of a sudden Animal Magic (Masked Cougar & Fox Mask) climbed the cage, and just as it looked like Hernandez was about to grab hold of the flag....the former two time tag champions threw powder into the Mainstream Nation leaders face....signalling that they had completely severed ties with the Mainstream Nation to the delight of the fans ! Cattley who had now given up on trying to escape the cage, then climbed up onto the same turnbuckle and brought a disorientated Mainstream Hernandez crashing back into the ring with a SUPERBOMB ! However that move had also taken a lot out of the former Apathy who lay in as equally a motionless heaps as the Mainstreamer himself. Meanwhile Ultimate Phoenix was still battling it out with Joseph, but Animal Magic pulled their now former ally down from interferring and Animal Magic and only two men now remaining loyal to Mainstream Hernandez brawled on the outside. But Animal Magic's help came a little too late, as Atlas managed to charge the cage, to cause Phoenix to lose his balance and stumble back into the ring. Phoenix was still the freshest though and pulled himself back off the mat to begin climbing, Cattley then got up next and only for Mainstream Hernandez to pull himself back up and nail the former Apathy with superkick, Cattley stayed on his feet but then got planted onto the mat with PONTIAC TO HOME ! Phoenix however was almost home and dry but a determined Mainstream Hernandez was able to cut him off....only for Phoenix to send him crashing back to the mat with a series of back elbows.....Ultimate Phoenix then took the decision not to escape the cage at that point to soar off the top turnbuckle to crashing down upon Mainstream Hernandez with the every graceful PHOENIX FIREBIRD SPLASH !! The man formerly known as Apathy then took full advantage of Ultimate Phoenix decision to climb the cage and become the second man to ensure a succesful escape from the cage, leaving one of the most popular men in FCW Ultimate Phoenix to battle it out with the most despised man on the island of Puerto Rico Mainstream Hernandez. Escapee#2: Apathy/ Jean Cattley @ 25:24 Both Phoenix and Hernandez then came back to their feet and exchange basic kicks and strikes, but due to the fact that both of them were almost spent, neither of them were able to connect with much conviction, eventually the Mainstreamer went to the bag of dirty tricks going low on a knee shot to the gorin and then drilling Ultimate Phoenix into the canvas with a DDT....Phoenix no sold it and got straight back up but the staggered right into a SUPERKICK ! before the Mainstreamer slumped back to the mat out of sheer exhaustion. Hernandez was up first though and began to climb the cage but his failure to take immediate advantage, resulted in Phoenix getting back to his feet and the two combatants fighting for surivival were now duking it out on the top turnbuckle, Hernandez went to shove Phoenix face-first into the cage but the GDA man was able to block and then turned the tables of the Mainstream Nation leader, causing Hernandez to lose his footing. Phoenix then waited for Hernandez to rise back to his feet and the dived off the top turnbuckle to drill the Mainstreamer with a Tornado DDT ! Phoenix then delivered a boot to the mid-section and then drove Hernandez into the canvas with the FLAMING DRIVER !! Phoenix then slumped to the mat completely spent of Energy..... But Hernandez was even more out of it, after being dropped on his head with two consecutive moves and the popular masked man was able to start making his escape from the cage.... Phoenix was a little slow climbing to the top, and the fans were left on tenterhooks to see if Hernandez would rise back to his felt and prevent Phoenix from making the escape..... But Hernandez was unable to rise, and Ultimate Phoenix grabbed the third flag to ensure that he wouldn't be the one left in the cage and that his mask would stay in tact, it was at that point the Mainstreamer saw Phoenix grab the flag and realising what had just happened Mainstream Hernandez's face was etched with despair at the fate about to come before him ! Final Escapee: Ultimate Phoenix @ 31:46 This match wasn't really one for the wrestling purists, it was basically just high-spots interrcut with brawling but this was far from being just a mindless spot-fest and the twists and turns throughout the story of the match had the fans on the edge of their seat. Great show, TK. Great way to end things off, though it does leave me sad and wanting more. This has been one of my favorite diareis since it started, essentially, and its going to be weird not having the regular shows. But I am most definitely looking forward to seeing what 2010 will lead you to next. A fitting send-off to a diary that has earned its legendary status. And now you can tell us who Phoenix Negra is, dammit.

I've already got a project in mind for TEW2010 but as I said I do intend to take something of a break, before I get back in the saddle. Anyway onto the business of who was behind the Phoenix Negra mask.... Well the man behind the mask was Lee Rivera, the bald headed half of the CGC Tag Team Youth Energy. Basically I was looking for a talented cruiserweight, who came across as lacking the sort of X-factor something like a masked identity could give him and Rivera fit that bill. I must say he did get over a little more instantly than I expected, but I pretty much did give him something of a 'god push' right out of the gate and luckily for me he responded with the sort of performances that deservedly put him amongst the upper echelon of FCW since his arrival till the very last show of the diary.

Fantastic stuff, right through to the finish. The quality never diminished in this diary. Thanks for sharing your talents with us again, TK. And I'm looking forward to reading what you have planned for 2010. I certainly don't blame you taking some time out first though! You're a step ahead of me though if you already know what your next project will be! :D

LEE F'N RIVERA? Are you freakin' kidding me? Would've never guessed, would've thought a bigger name was under the mask. Way to make him into a star. Although I didn't comment nearly enough, this diary was one of my favourites TK. I'm sure you're crack at 2010 will be equally as phenomenal as BHOTWG and FCW.

Thanks for all the kind comments :) So what would have happened after ? Well I tended to find you had to book more on the fly with a regional sized indy, compared to when I ran BHOTWG and I'll be honest with TEW2010 coming out I probably moved forward my plans a little, as the whole Cage Survival match was originally intended for Batalla Final. Anyway Sara Silver would have taken control of a new heel group to run roughshod over FCW, and Mainstream Hernandez dignity stripped and all would have disappeared for several months. During that time Dean Daniels would have held the Undisputed Championship for the next few months until being defeated for the title by Phoenix Negra. Negra then would have had a strong reign with the belt, with the backing of Sara Silver's heel group of which Batch Enterprises Inc. get swallowed up into after Carl Batch does a deal with Silver. Going up against them would have been the Lucha Equity Alliance now boosted by Ultimate Phoenix and Boriken Love Machine Jr joining their ranks and Team FREEDOM with Dean Daniels eventually coming a fully fledged member and with Puerto Rican Power who would have taken time out eventually also giving his backing to the group. Meanwhile Speed Machine would have quit Batch Enterprises and formed a tweener faction with Jean Cattley and Animal Magic. As for Mainstream Hernandez he would have returned under a mystery hood because I believe the fans wou not accept a sudden face turn from him. He would be a sort of wildcard who would eventually turn the tide of the war between the babyface alliance of Team FREEDOM and the LEA against the Silver/Batch heel army.

Wow, Lee Rivera? Way to go, TK. And that was a tidy final show, too. Unmasking Negra would have been a 'closing' point that left Mainstream free, but equally the Silver/Mainstream storyline needed some closure too - even if it left things open for the next chapter. And for the record, I thought Negra was American Elemental - I seem to remember him using one of AE's moves early on, and I thought that might have been a slip on your part. Perhaps it was just a cunning false lead. This has been one of my absolute favourite diaries on the board, and I'm sad to see it end. I am looking forward to whatever you have up your sleeve next, though :)

Surprised it was Lee Rivera under the mask, but only because that isnt who I would have expected, not because of his talent. In my CGC game he was always touted as a next big thing, I just never really gave him the chance to develop the proper push before I ended that game. He was one of those I was planning to try and develop if that game had continued for a longer period. I have also seen him do well in NOTBPW in the past too, so he is one of those people who can definitely be a boomer or a bust, depending on circumstance and destiny.

I haven't really responded much to be fair, but I have been very impressed by the depth of character you build, and the way you construct your matches. I really like the way you were able to define the lucha libre environment, I think that's a skill as the characterisations aren't usually obvious but you worked well to bring the history of the mask itself in which I think is half the battle. Great work!
