WWF Raw is War Ross: Hello and welcome to WWF Raw is War. I’m here as always alongside Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler. Lawler: What I show we have tonight, a triple threat tag match in the main event between all three challengers for the WWF Title. All they have to do is find a partner. Ross: It should be easy enough for Michaels but I’m not sure Austin and Flair have made too many friends in their time here. Lawler: We’ll soon find out JR. Also tonight Owen Hart takes on The New Age Outlaws in a handicap match and with outside interference banned on Owen’s part then you can’t help but overlook him for the win today. Ross: Owen’s a battler King and I’ll be damned if he goes out without a fight tonight. Lawler: Here comes Kane JR, I’ll be honest, he scares the living hell out of me. vs. Another squash match for ‘The Big Red Machine’ who has been on a roll recently after his loss to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. After a couple of minutes torturing Holly he finally put him away with a chokeslam. Winner: Kane Match Rating: C Owen Hart makes his way to the ring, he is closely followed by Lance Storm and the Leader of the Nation Rocky Maivia. Hart: DX last week tried to screw with us, they said if we interfered and laid a finger on anyone of them we’d be fired on the spot. I went to see the sergeant and he’s lifted it. From now on we can fight who we like and when we like without having the worry of being fired. Rocky: Tonight, Owen Hart will dismantle the son’s of bitches; the New Age Outlaws. I’ve been to see the commissioner and he agrees that at Over the Edge Kama and D’lo will be added to the tag team match, making it 2 on 2 on 2 on 2. At Over the Edge Owen Hart will beat Tyson, Storm will beat Triple H. DX has been spreading over the WWF like a disease but soon it will come to an end. The Nation of Domination will take their place and become the force that its destined to be. Soon Degeneration X will be, Rocked! Ross: Thank god for Sgt. Slaughter. Things just got much more interesting King. Lawler: Yeah JR but Owen has still got to face both Billy Gunn and Road Dog tonight. Ross: Now though King, we have a 6 pack challenge for the Light Heavyweight Title. Jerry Lynn defends against Great Sasuke, Flash Funk, Brian Christopher and new signings Halloween and Heavy Metal. This should be an exciting match folks. vs.vs.vs.vs.vs. These six superstars produce a superb fast paced match to properly start the show. The crowd really got behind every competitor who all showed why they have a place here in the Light Heavyweight division of the WWF. Highlights included a 450 splash from Heavy Metal, a moonsault by Halloween, while everyone was fighting on the outside, taking out the other 5 wrestlers. Great Sasuke won the Light Heavyweight Title after pinning Flash Funk. Winner: Great Sasuke (New Light Heavyweight Champion) Match Rating: C Ross: I can’t remember the last time we had a match that good at the beginning of Raw is War King. Lawler: And a new champion was crowned aswell. We cut backstage where Mankind is getting ready for his match tonight with Ken Shamrock. He see’s something move outside his locker room and goes to inspect. He can’t see anything there and decides to go back into his room but the door is locked. He turns around and when he turns back again he sees the words rest… in… peace engraved on the wooden door. Lawler: The mind games have started JR and no one does them better than The Undertaker. Ross: What else does he have in store for Mankind before their match, last week he freaked him out and he’s done similar this week. Next up King we will see if Owen Hart can overcome both New Age Outlaws. vs. Owen starts the match well isolating Billy Gunn for a while but with Tyson at ringside it’s very hard for the referee concentrate on him, Road Dog and the match aswell and soon enough thanks to some interference from Tyson, the New Age outlaws are on top, making frequent tags and wearing Hart down. Triple H, Sid Vicious and X-Pac make their way down to the ring as the crowds boos become deafening. The referee goes over to the rope as they start arguing with him. Hart and Gunn are both down in the ring, Road Dog goes to the outside to get a chair. He comes back in as both men are getting up and swings the chair at Hart’s head. Hart ducks and the chair catches Gunn straight in the face. Hart clotheslines Road Dog down and makes the cover on Gunn calling for the referee to count. Winner: Owen Hart Match Rating: C Ross: Yes! By good King he’s beaten them, against all odds. Oh no, please, it’s 5 against 1 dammit. DX flood the ring and start attacking Hart. Hart tries to fight back but stands no chance as a 5 on 1 assault develops. Lance Storm accompanied the whole of The Nation run to the ring. A 5 on 5 man brawl arises in the ring with both having equal offence until Owen Hart gets up and starts cleaning house. DX exit the ring all except Triple H who is getting pounded by Hart. Hart locks in the sharpshooter as Triple H taps immediately. The rest of DX walk to the back terrified of facing a pumped up Nation. Hart finally lets go of the sharpshooter and the other 5 men in the ring all hit their finishing moves on Triple H. Rock Bottom! Dominator! Death Valley Driver! Suplex Powerslam! And finally, Lo Down! Ross: The best thing I’ve seen all night King. Lawler: Yeah but now you have to wonder what Triple H has in store for The Nation. Ross: Here comes Ric Flair, King! Flair makes a slow entrance to the ring still limping after last weeks match with ‘The Rattlesnake’. Flair: 'The Nature Boy' is here at the MDI Center in Washington DC. Wooooooo! 'I’m the Limousine Ridin’ jet flyin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin-dealin’, son of a gun' and at Over the Edge we’re all gonna party when the Nature Boy is crowned the new Champion. Wooooooo! Me and Austin last week stole the show and I’m still hurt after what we went through but I can assure you this, 'The Man' will be fighting fit in 2 weeks time and ready to put in the performance of a life time for all the fans that believe that the Nature Boy still has it in him. You may not believe me but at 49 years old I’m in the prime of my career, I’ve never felt better and soon enough I’m have the strap around my waist to prove it. Woooooooo! vs. Sid Vicious makes quick work of Al Snow pinning him after a Powerbomb. After the match Sid starts to attack Al Snow on the outside. He whips him into the ring steps and hits his head on the ring post. Farooq comes storming to the ring. He ducks under a big clothesline by Sid and the unloads with left and rights until the big monster in down. After beating down Sid he hits him with a Dominator before heading to the back. Ross: Things aren’t going too well for DX tonight King and quite frankly, I’m loving it. Lawler: What does Farooq think he’s doing, Sid is going to destroy him the next time he sees him. Ross: What was he doing? He was saving Al Snow from perhaps being beaten down for no reason. We cut backstage where all of DX are talking in their locker room. Triple H: What the hell were you lot doing tonight?! You just left me their to get a beating! Road Dog: We were outnumbered Hunter, how were we supposed to fight through them? Triple H: That’s no excuse! You could of easily taken on The Nation of Abomination. Anyway, Vince what the hell happened with the interference rule. Where did Slaughter get all this creative control from? Vince: It’s in his contract, I can’t do anything about it. He’s the commissioner. Triple H: Well we’re gonna have to find a way to stop him being the commissioner. Any ideas guys? The room is quiet, nobody has any ideas. Triple H: Come on guys. Shawn, what do you think? No answer. Triple H: What the hell has been the matter with you recently man, you haven’t been the same since Montreal. We need you to even the odds against The Nation. Michaels: I’ve been busy with the title, haven’t you noticed, I’ve had two men after me and I retained at Unforgiven by the skin of my teeth. I haven’t seen you lot trying to keep the title with DX, you’ve all been trying to make Owen’s life a misery which I don’t see the point with at all. Triple H: The point Michaels? The point is that we want rid of that crappy little Hart Wrestling family, they don’t belong in the World Wrestling Federation. Anyway Shawn, we’d appreciate some help from you once in a while, it’s not all about you and your title. Michaels gets up and leaves the room. Vince: What the hell’s his problem, I got him that title at Survivor Series, the least he could do is stay and discuss our problems. Triple H: Just leave him Vince, it’s been his time of the month ever since December. We need to get rid of Sgt. Slaughter, DX needs the power to grant each other what we want. Ross: What was all that about King? Lawler: Sounds like they want to remove Slaughter from his position of power. Ross: Up next King we have the ‘Man Beast’ Rhino. vs. Rhino looks in terrific form as Goldust hardly gets a look in. Rhino measures up for a Gore and hits it sending Goldust down to the mat hard. Winner: Rhino Match Rating: C+ Angle comes running through from the back. He slides under the ring and ducks Rhinos attempted clothesline before hitting an angle slam. He grabs his ankle and locks in the ankle lock to which Rhino refuses to tap. Eventually Rhino decides that a broken ankle would not be good with his match against Angle approaching and starts to tap on the mat. Angle still refuses to release the hold and soon security are running in to restrain him. Rhino tries to stand up but can’t, Two of the security help him to the back. Ross: Rhino’s ankle could be broken King, he couldn’t even stand. King: What a blow that would be but what right did Angle have attacking him like that. Ross: Rhino did the same last week, Angle was merely returning the favour. Both men have tapped to each others submissions now though. Lawler: Yeah but would Rhino really tap with the Intercontinental Title on the line in a proper match with Angle. We’ve seen it before, he’d rather pass out than have to personally give up. vs. Mankind comes to the ring looking pretty scared after The Undertakers mind games recently but we see no sign from him whatsoever. Mankind beats Shamrock after making him pass out to the Mandible Claw. First Slaughter lifts the ban on outside interference, I then overcame both Billy Gunn and Road Dog before we gave Triple H one hell of a beating. We have D’lo and Kama winning some Tag Team Gold at Over the Edge and Farooq, I went to see Slaughter and he told me you’ll be facing Sid at that event. Farooq: Damn! Hart: So that just leaves you Rocky. What are you gonna be doing? Rocky: Tonight Hart, I will be teaming with none other than ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair to take on Shawn Michaels, we all know his partner will be Triple H, and Steve Austin and whoever he has picked for his partner. This means Owen that tonight Triple H will feel the force of The Nation, I’ll make sure I punish him during that. Hart: Go easy on him Rocky, he’s had enough for one night. The 6 men start laughing as the camera cuts back to ringside. Ross: So we have another match for Over the Edge then King. Farooq against Sid Vicious. Lawler: Yeah it looks like Sid’s gonna get his hands on him a lot sooner that I thought. Ross: Now then King, tonight’s Main Event will be Michaels and a partner against Austin and a partner against Flair and Rocky. Glass smashed and out comes Austin to a huge pop. Austin: My partner tonight, all the way from death valley, he’s here to kick ass with ‘The Rattlesnake’, The Undertaker. Undertaker comes to the ring to a good pop from the sold out crowd. Austin: If ya wanna see ‘Stone Cold’ and The Undertaker kick some sons of bitches ass tonight gimme a hell yeah! Crowd: Hell Yeah! Austin: Oh hell yeah! vs.vs. The referee has trouble controlling this one and it soon gets out of hand with everyone brawling on the outside. Austin takes advantage and stuns Michaels and picks up the victory. Winner: Steve Austin and The Undertaker Match Rating: B- Austin celebrates with the crowd ascending each turnbuckle while drinking some cold ones. Ross: That’s all we have time for folks. Austin sent a huge message to both Flair and Michaels tonight but we still have one Raw left until Over the Edge. Raw Rating: B Nitro Rating: C+ Raw TV Rating: 5.66 Nitro TV Rating: 7.10

There's some good things in this diary, but two major issues really keep me from enjoying it, and they're pretty closely related. The first issue is that you took one of the biggest rosters ever and actually added to it, and then proceeded to give a ton of TV time to guys that were non-entities even six months earlier. I mean, Lance Storm, Steve Corino, Rhino, Angle, all these guys get a lot of time on TV, despite the fact that none of them are homegrown (except Angle, who hadn't worked elsewhere), and again, with the exception of Angle, none of them look like they could ever be top guys. Although apparently you're building Rhino as an unstoppable monster, giving him wins over Austin(?!) despite the fact that he's smaller than most of your current top guys, and you've already got Ken Shamrock on the roster, who is pretty much the definition of "menacing undersized guy with no mic skills"? My other problem is this doesn't particularly feel like an "Attitude" diary, and most of that is because Ric Flair is main eventing consecutive pay per views, apparently as a face. What the hell? Beyond having done precisely ZERO to earn a single title shot, Flair is about the least "Attitude" type guy you would ever see, and would've been booed out of the arena by the WWF fans of that era who either A) wouldn't remember who he was, or B) think of him as the definition of a WCW guy. Either way, they would hate him. And he just shows up, out of nowhere, and starts kicking out of Stunners?

Firstly, I have been trying to create new stars in the form of Angle, Rhino and Storm and debuted the latter two in December so they have become at the least, credible midcarders. The win against Austin wasn't clean because DX attacked Austin and Rhino took his chance and hit the gore. I wouldn't call 275 pounds small either, he's classed as a heavyweight in the game and is in my opinion the definition of power. I have Shamrock but he's not as big as Rhino and the booking team think he's 5 years past it, I have some ideas for him though. I agree with you on the second point, I rushed into bringing Flair into the WWF (his contract ran out and I saw it as a perfect oppurtunity to debut him at the start of the diary) and I didn't really think of the audience at the time, I agree he wouldn't really be liked especially in the era. I may have to go down a different road with him now and I have some ideas which hopefully you'll find more interesting. I appreciate what you've said and it will definately help me to improve but you said that their were some good points here aswell, would you like to elaborate on that please?

I appreciate what you've said and it will definately help me to improve but you said that their were some good points here aswell, would you like to elaborate on that please?
Couple of interesting points brought up here. I think the roster needs additions around late 97, it's not in tremendous shape to be honest, and while you've probably spent months building Angle, Rhino and Storm up we're only catching it now, solike I've already said you have to try and establish them to the readers even though they're established in the game. Not an easy task. Personally, lazorbeak, I disagree that fans would hate Flair from the off. It would be a huge coup for the Fed to sign him and I'm sure they would be delighted to have him there. I do however agree about him turning up and main eventing. Of course, if the diary had started months earlier Flairs debut may have come across better, however, as it was your first show and no-one knew much about the roster anyway it didn't have the zing it should have. A couple of months of teasing videos, or having him ruin a Michaels - Austin match by attacking Austin and siding with McMahon because he hates everything that Austin stands for, those sort of things would have worked better in the first show. But of course, you weren't to know that and it's only hindsight that tells us that. It's a shame, but you've gotta move on and it seems like you are. The booking team think Shamrock is 5 years passed it? Ouch, he wasn't even a pro wrestler in 93! Shamrock seems to be getting jobbed quite a lot which is a shame as he wa shella over at the time and has a lot to offer. Hell, WCW were so impressed they created their own star to rival him. I think like all diaries, you can't just start and have it take off. You need to find your feet, find a combination of what you enjoy and what the readers enjoy and just go with it. In a few game months time people will have forgotten about Rhino and Angle because they too will be used to them. PS- hate to be pedantic, I really do, but it's 'definitely' not definately'. Seen it a couple of times and even though it's not a big deal it's one of my pet peeves for some reason!
If theres one thing I regret it's not building up Flair's debut, I could have done it much better and it could take a long time until I can get someone with anywhere near Flair's combination of popularity and skill onto the roster. I do have some ideas for Flair which should make him fit into the era more so I'm hoping you'll like them when I get round to it. I've managed to keep Shamrock quite over despite his recent defeats and he's one of a few guys that I'm pondering pushing or not. One guy that I started to push when I started the game but has been jobbed quite a lot in the this diary is Jeff Jarrett. He's got into so many fights backstage that I ended up giving him one last chance, the good thing is it seems to have worked. I'll definitely remember the spelling of definitely now mate, cheers. :p
Personally, lazorbeak, I disagree that fans would hate Flair from the off. It would be a huge coup for the Fed to sign him and I'm sure they would be delighted to have him there.
Who's 'they'? The company? I agree they'd love to have him. But the fans? No way in hell could he be anything other than a heel. At this time period, Flair was barely active in-ring, and was pretty much Mr. WCW. WWF "Attitude" fans thought the NWO were faces and would boo anybody they thought was WCW because WCW was the competition, and more then that, had a reputation for being old-school, family friendly stuff, pretty much the opposite of the WWF's philosophy at the time. Kane vs. Super Crazy Kane squashes another jobber. Light Heavyweight Title Match Great Sasuke© vs. Jerry Lynn He won the title last week. The Undertaker and Kurt Angle vs. Mankind and Rhino Could go either way, but when in doubt, I pick the team with more star power. Ric Flair vs. Vader Hey, maybe Flair will beat somebody one on one! Steve Austin vs. William Regal This is bizarre- why does he have to wrestle Austin in his debut? Conventional booker wisdom says new guy wins his first match, but usually the new guy doesn't take on a top contender to the title. Shawn Michaels vs. Ken Shamrock Shamrock hasn't been pushed as particularly dangerous, so this looks like a pretty safe bet.

Lawler: Oh I can’t wait JR. We will have some great matches on Sunday and tonight isn’t half bad either. Ross: Your right there King, all three competitors in the Main Event on Sunday will have singles matches to get them in shape for Over the Edge. Lawler: If you can call them warm up matches JR. Flair faces the monster Vader while Michaels has ‘The Worlds Most Dangerous Man’ Ken Shamrock. Austin won’t have it easy either, he faces a new addition to the roster in William Regal who will definitely be looking to prove himself tonight, what a chance he has to make a name for himself on his first show. Ross: I have to agree with you King, those 3 opponents will take the challengers for WWF Title all the way tonight. First up though, we have Kane who seems in unstoppable form a the moment. I wonder what’s wrong with Farooq. Lawler: He’s obviously scared that Sid will rip him to pieces after he attacked him last week. Ross: I don’t think that’s the case at all. With their 6 challengers laid out on the floor, Vader and Bigelow decide to head back to their locker room feeling they’ve made their statement. Ross: Well the tag match has definitely heated up after that. Tonight 30,000 people have packed into the arena as we’re about to get Over the Edge underway. I’m Jim Ross, alongside Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler’. Are you ready, King? Lawler: You bet JR, this is going to be one of the best PPV’s we’ve ever had, the atmosphere is going to be electric tonight in the main event. We’re here in ‘The Nature Boy’s’ hometown. Ross: Damn right we are King. That’s sure to give him an added incentive to get the gold. Lawler: He’ll give it his all JR but he’s up against ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and The Champion Shawn Michaels. Storm: Your looking pretty good yourself Owen, Tyson’s not gonna know what hit him. Hart: Guys, we just have to watch out for the unfair play. There’s bound to be cheating and we just have to live with it. I’ll be there for you guys tonight and I hope you guys will do the same. Rocky: You know we will man don’t worry, we wanna end DX’s tyranny just as much as you. Anyway guys my match is up next so I’ll see you soon. Both: Yeah see you later, Rocky. Hart: To be honest Lance, I’m a little worried about getting in the ring with Tyson tonight. He has a reputation for hurting people and while on wrestling terms he is no match for me, he’s one of the greatest boxers in the world and he’s a monster, you saw what he did in his last boxing match. Storm: I understand Owen, I really do. I’d be intimidated aswell, he’s a big guy and you gotta watch his punches but that’s about all he will have going for him tonight. Just be glad your not facing Holyfield. Both men start to laugh as the camera cuts back to ringside. Ross: I don’t blame Owen, King. Tyson is known as ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ and he is a great fighter but he’ll never match Owen’s in ring ability. Lawler: It’ll only take a few punches from Tyson and Owen will be out cold on the mat. Ross: He’s gotta watch for the disqualification though King. He can’t just open up with closed fists to Owen’s face. Rocky’s up next, he faces Sid Vicious. vs. Vince McMahon accompanies Sid to the ring. They both receive a lot of heat as Rocky gets a slight pop. Before the bell rings Sid cheapshots Rocky from behind and starts the match with the upper hand. He starts to wear Rocky down with punches to the face before locking in a sleeper hold. As Sid goes for Big Boot Rocky ducks it and rebounds off the ropes falling into Sid and knocking him down. The two start to trade offence for short while until Rocky gains control nailing Sid with a DDT. McMahon is a constant thorn in Rocky’s side at ringside, cheapshotting him whenever Sid has referee distracted. Owen Hart has seen enough, he runs down to the ring from the back and starts to beat on McMahon. X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws closely follow, saving Vince and starting a 4 on 1 beat down on Hart, that is until Storm and The rest of the Nation storm (no pun intended) to the ring and help out their friend. Rocky is watching the proceedings over the rope and is shouting profanities at Vince. Sid takes his chance. He rolls up Rocky, grabbing the tights for leverage as well as putting both feet on the bottom rope. The referee makes the cover unaware of what Sid is doing. 1 2 3 Sid’s stolen the victory. He caught Rocky off guard and even cheated twice with the pin. Winner: Sid Vicious Match Rating: B- Ross: For god’s sake King, DX steal yet another win. I hope they haven’t set a trend for tonight. Lawler: You can't denie it was a geat win for Sid. Ross: He didn’t deserve it though, he had the tights and both feet on the ropes. Lawler: A wins a win JR, no matter what you have to do to get it. Ross: Let’s go backstage with Gorilla Monsoon. Monsoon: Thanks JR, I’m standing by with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. What can the other two competitors expect from you tonight? Austin: Their just gonna see the same old ‘Stone Cold’, Monsoon. Kicking ass and taking names! I was cheated out of the win at Unforgiven but make no mistake about it, that won’t happen tonight. Whether it be Flair or Michaels I pin, I guaren-damn-tee I will be walking out of North Carolina the WWF Heavyweight Champion, and that’s the bottom line coz ‘Stone Cold’ said so. Monsoon: Thanks and good luck tonight, Steve. Ross: Next up we have a huge tag match, three teams going after the Champions Big Bam Vader, but will any of the three teams be ready to fight after Monday. Lawler: Oh look JR, we’re being joined by the Sergeant. Slaughter: I have announcement regarding the Tag Match tonight. I’m gonna make it a gauntlet match. The Champions will start out against one team of challengers. After one team are eliminated the next will come straight to the ring and another match will start. This process will be repeated until all teams have been eliminated and one team are left standing. Ross: Sounds good to me King, this might be to punish Big Bam Vader’s actions on Monday. It’s definitely going to be harder for them now. vs. As soon as Kama and D’lo enter the ring, Big Bam Vader go to work. Vader isolates D’lo and makes frequent tags with Bigelow as they wear him down. All of a sudden Bigelow hit’s a Powerbomb and the match is over very quickly. 1 2 3 Winner: Big Bam Vader Kamikaze run into the ring to catch Big Bam Vader off guard but, having not had to do much in the last match, Big Bam Vader start to throw the lightweights around the ring, not looking in the least bit tried. When Taka tags in the Light heavyweight Champion, The Great Sasuke, the tables start to turn as he uses his speed and agility to wear Bigelow down gradually. He goes to the top rope but Bigelow scouts it and catches Sasuke. He lifts up into the Powerbomb position and slams him down to the mat. 1 2 3 Winner: Big Bam Vader The New Age Outlaws make a match out of it, isolating Bigelow who had taken some offence from Sasuke in the last match. The do a lot of groundwork, mostly kicks and punches as Bigelow seems too heavy to do a lot of power moves on. Bigelow is starting to look very tired, he must get the tag to Vader or the Championships with be on their way to DX. He somehow finds a way out with some vicious headbutts to Billy Gunn. With Gunn down, Bigelow crawls over the his partner, Vader, and makes the tag. Vader starts to clean house taking both the onrushing Gunn and Road Dog down multiple times with Clotheslines. He then nails the legal Gunn with a Super Chokeslam and the referee counts the pin. 1 2 3 Big Bam Vader retain their tag team Championships! Tonight Gorilla, ‘The Nature Boy’ can become WWF Champion in front of all his fans here in Charlotte North Carolina and by god Gorilla, you bet he’ll do his best to make it happen. Wooooooo! Monsoon: Ric, you must be worried, I mean, your opponents have a huge advantage in age. Flair: It doesn’t matter how old Michaels or Austin are, Gorilla. I proved in the last match that this old timer can still go for 30 minutes. Make no mistake about it, Gorilla, tonight I will walk out the Champion and then North Carolina will be having a party in this very ring. Wooooooo! Ross: Flair seems fired up. Lawler: He’s bound to be, we’re in his hometown. Ross: Next up Lawler, we have Lance Storm against. Triple H. vs. Triple H comes to the ring alone which surprises most people. The early proceedings are very even until Triple H’s power starts to get the better of Storm. He starts to toy with Storm but needs to be careful, Storms no pushover and will take an opportunity when it’s given. Triple H goes for a pedigree but Storm reserves into a big back body drop. He locks in the Canadian Maple Leaf but Triple H just won’t tap. Storm has the hold locked in the middle of the ring. The New Age Outlaws run down to the ring, clearly hurt after their match with Big Bam Vader earlier. They stand on the apron and distract the referee. Triple H smacks his hand on the mat but the referee is dealing with Gunn and Road Dog. Storm stands up and takes both Outlaws out with a double clothesline before being met with a low blow from Triple H. Triple H has the advantage but Storm’s submission has taken it’s toll as he’s clearly in pain. Both men are on their feet exchanging big blows. Triple H comes out of nowhere with a huge spinebuster, but he immediately falls back to the canvas. After a few seconds he drapes an arm over Storm’s body and the referee counts. 1 2 No! Kick Out from Storm! The New Age Outlaws cheap shot the referee from behind and start a 2 on 1 beat down on Storm. Owen Hart runs down to the ring and takes out both Billy Gunn and Road Dog. The Nation soon follow led by Rocky Maivia, but as they run down the ramp they are taken out by X-Pac and Sid Vicious. They then come down to the ring and start to attack Owen with the New Age Outlaws. Triple H slaps Storm in between his legs and nails him to the mat. Pedigree! The referee comes too and counts the pin. 1 2 3 Triple H steals yet another win! Winner: Triple H Match Rating: B Ross: Thanks to DX, he’s won another King. Storm had him tapping out aswell. King: You have to admit JR, he certainty knows how to win. He’s on quite a roll at the minute. Ross: Only because he’s cheating King! Anyway Monsoon is backstage with the Champion Shawn Michaels. Monsoon: Please welcome the WWF Champion, Shawn Michaels. Boos ring round the arena as Michaels just stares at the ground. Monsoon: Well what do you have to say to that? Michaels: The only thing that matters Gorilla is that this Championship will never leave ‘The Showstopper’ whether these fans love me or hate me. They don’t deserve to hear me speak after the lack of respect they’ve been showing me. I’m off to get ready for my match, my actions will do the talking tonight. Lawler: Michaels is focussed JR and can you believe the lack of respect from the fans here in North Carolina. Ross: It’s Ric Flair’s hometown King. What did he expect? Up next we have Mike Tyson’s in ring debut as he takes on Owen Hart. vs. Tyson comes to the ring with a sick smile on his face as the crowd give him an immense amount of heat. Hart starts off better hitting Tyson with a few impact moves, mostly suplexes, before locking on an arm bar. He obviously wants to cut off Tyson’s main power, his punching ability off. The arm was starting to hurt and Tyson looks in some pain. He boots Hart in the face viciously a few times and Hart was forced to release to hold. We would now see how Tyson was in the ring after his intense months of training. He starts to drop the knee onto Harts face and then waits for him to get up. He whips him into the ropes. Hart rebounds. Running Powerslam from Tyson. He again waitsfor Hart to get up before unloading on him with rights and lefts. It didn’t take many punches from Tyson before he had busted Hart open. Blood face flowing down his face now as Tyson started to laugh. He definitely had the upper hand now, Hart’s visibility was sure to be cut off, the blood was all over his face. Tyson started to take his time, taunting Hart and the fans with every opportunity he got. Tyson went for frequent covers but Hart kicked out every time which started to frustrate Tyson which didn’t bode well Hart as the offence just became more brutal. Tyson was showing some decent in ring ability as he now had a nasty sleeper hold locked on Hart. Hart was fading fast, he needed to try and escape but he was now bleeding profusely after even more shots from Tyson earlier. Hart was trying to fight the hold but Tyson had his arms clasped tightly around his neck. Hart looked out cold, the referee starts to drop the arm. Once. Twice. Hart would not let his arm go down a third time. He was fighting, he wanted revenge on DX so badly. Malicious elbows to the head from Hart and he had finally broken the hold. Both men starting trading rights and lefts in the middle on the ring. Hart knew this wouldn’t work and so he tackled Tyson to the ground and unloaded with quick punches to Tyson’s face. The crowd were going crazy as Hart got to his feet and grabbed Tyson’s legs. He had the Sharpshooter locked in! Triple H came running down to the ring but Hart was having none of it he quickly released the sharpshooter and slid out of the ring. He ran up to his nemesis and ducked under the attempted punch. Hart hit him with a big clothesline before whipping him into the steal steps. He slid back into the ring as the referee count reached 8. Tyson was still laid out in the middle of the ring as Hart locked on another sharpshooter. The pain was too much as Tyson starts to tap. Winner: Owen Hart Match Rating: C Ross: Oh my god, king. How did Hart do that? He’d lost so much blood. Lawler: What about Tyson? He showed he’s no pushover when it comes to wrestling. Ross: I have to agree with you there, King. He took Hart to the limit tonight but just like many that have come before him, he couldn’t survive the sharpshooter. Lawler: That could be the most deadly submission in the WWF, JR. Ross: Your right there. We’re gonna have to cut backstage again, Monsoon has another guest. Monsoon: I’m backstage with Kurt Angle who has as match with ‘The Man Beast’ Rhino next. Angle looks very intense as he’s jumping on the spot already in his gear. Monsoon: So, Kurt, it’s gonna be brutal out there tonight. You and Rhino have been at each others throats for the past few months and now it all comes to this, a steel cage submission match. Angle: I have to agree Monsoon, it will be brutal tonight. Rhino is one tough bastard, but I’m a wrestling machine and I’ll break his damn ankle if it means I keep my Intercontinental Title. Monsoon: He’s started to use a submission of his own though, Kurt. If he gets that crossface in it could be the end for you tonight. Angle: I’m not gonna lie, that crossface is very painful, I felt the hold the other week, but what you have to understand Monsoon is that I will not quit. I won a gold medal with a broken freaking neck. That crossface doesn’t scare me, I’ve had a broken neck before, I can take the pain. Let’s face it Monsoon. I’m gonna win tonight. Oh it’s true, it’s damn true. A video plays hyping to near 2 month feud between Rhino and Kurt Angle. vs. Rhino comes down to the ring wielding as Singapore Cain while Angle comes down and grabs a chair from ringside. The 2 men enter the cage and the door is locked. The only way to win is by submission. The two men have an intense stare down before Rhino attempts an early gore. Angle has it well scouted and moves out of the way. He then clasps his arms around Rhino’s back and hit’s a German suplex and then tries to choke Rhino out early on with a grounded bear hug. Angle carries on wearing the ‘Man Beast’ down with suplexes, trying to take his power game away. He picks up the Singapore Cane and nails Rhino round the back with it 5 times. The Cane eventually snaps with the force and Rhino’s back is even bleeding from the shots. Angle then waits for Rhino to stand smashing his head into the steel cage. Blood starts to flow from Rhino’s head just like his back. Rhino starts to fight back with vicious headbutts to Angle. He then throws Angle into the steel and after a few blows to the head from the chair Angle is bleeding worse than Rhino. Rhino goes for the cripple crossface but Angle counters and twists Rhino’s arm. Angle Slam out of nowhere from Angle and Rhino is laid out on the mat. Angle climbs the cage and goes onto the corner. Moonsault from the top of the cage from Angle! Rhino was playing possum, he moved out of the way and Angle landed hard on the mat. Rhino starts to wear down Angle slowing utilizing Angle in one corner of the ring. He then takes a run up and powers his way through the cage door. He goes under the ring and finds a table aswell as another Singapore Cain and a trash can. He brings his new arsenal into the ring where Angle is still down. He stomps on his face a bit before setting up a table in the corner. He picks Angle up and places him upright on the table and follows up with a huge gore. That’s gotta have broken Angle in half! A smile appears on Rhino’s face, he seems to be enjoying the pain and suffering he’s causing Angle. Rhino hits Angle in the face a few times deepening his open wound. He then positions the chair in the middle of the ring and picks Angle up in the Piledriver position. Rhino Driver on the steel! That must have broken his neck. Rhino quickly locks in the cripple crossface on Angle, who’s now wearing a crimson mask. Pain is etched on his face but he won’t give up. His neck could break at any moment. Angle manages to roll Rhino over and he releases the hold. Rhino stands up and waits in the corner ready for Angle to stand. Angle stands and Rhino starts to charge. Angle quickly moves out of the way and Rhino goes charging into the turnbuckle. Angle then catches him. Angle Slam! He pulls down his straps and grabs the ankle of Rhino. He has the ankle lock locked in and there’s nowhere for Rhino to go. Just like at Unforgiven Rhino refuses to tap and Angle releases he’s getting nowhere. He takes the steel chair and traps Rhinos ankle in it before ascending the top rope. He jumps off the rope and on to the chair where Rhino’s is ankle is wedged in. That must have broken his ankle, Rhino is screaming. Angle then locks in the ankle lock again and a destroyed Rhino is forced to tap his hand on the mat. Winner: Kurt Angle and still Intercontinental Champion. Match Rating: B Angle climbs to the top of the cage and celebrates with the newly retained Intercontinental Championship. Ross: Good god, King. That was a sensational match. Angle took it to new limits there. Lawler: Angle proved hes the brightest star in the sport JR. He survived so much to win that match. Ross: Both men took so much punishment and Rhino’s ankle has to be broken for sure. A video plays hyping up the feud between Mankind and the Undertaker. vs. The Undertaker enters the ring second hoping to intimidate his opponent Mankind. This along with the recent mind games hes’ been playing on Mankind seem to have an effect as he looks frightened when Undertaker gets in the ring. The casket is then brought out and laid outside the ring. As soon as the light comes on Mankind charges at Undertaker knocking him down with a few clotheslines. He then whips Undertaker in into the corner of the ropes but its reserved and Mankind goes into the corner. Undertaker follows up with a big clothesline. Undertaker still has the advantage and has no intention of giving it up. He lifts Mankind up and lets him go head first into the corner. Snake Eyes! He then runs into the ropes and rebounds, catching Mankind with a big boot which sends him back down to the mat. Undertaker tries to roll Mankind into the casket but he has both hands on the ropes and just won’t let go. He uses his boot to force Undertaker off. The Undertaker still has the advantage as he starts to introduce some weapons into the action. He smashes a steel chair straight over Mankind’s skull which completely disfigures the chair. Mankind is taking one hell of a beating. Undertaker throws Mankind out of the ring over the top rope. He clears the casket and falls onto the mat below. Undertaker surveys Mankind in the ring awaiting his rise. As he starts to stand Undertaker runs and rebounds off the rope nearest the announcers tables. He carries on running and performs a superb suicide dive over the casket and straight onto the helpless Mankind. The crowd go wild at the athleticism of the 300+ pounder. The move has it’s effects on both men, but The Undertaker is up first and he continues his assault on Mankind. He goes over the Mankind, but is met with the mandible claw. Suddenly Mankind is in control as The Undertaker is fading. Mankind waits for The Undertaker to get up before slamming him onto the closed casket. He then retreats back to the ring with his opponent before looking under the ring for something else to cause physical harm with. He finds a bag which we can only assume is full of thumbtacks. He pours the thumbtacks In the middle of the ring and attempts to pick The Undertaker up for the slam. Mankind has given him enough time to recover ,which was certainly a mistake as Undertaker reserves the slam and clotheslines Mankind down to the mat. Undertaker is back in control now and he grabs Mankind by the neck and lifts him up for the chokeslam. He turns around and throws Mankind down onto the thumbtacks. Mankind rives around in agony as The Undertaker lays the boot into his face. Undertaker signals for the tombstone as the fans go crazy. He picks Mankind up and drops him headfirst onto the thumbtacks. He signals for the referee to open the casket and rolls Mankind towards it. He lifts up the bottom rope and gives Mankind one last push as the referee closes the casket. Undertaker’s done it, he’s got some revenge over Mankind. Winner: The Undertaker Match Rating: A Ross: Oh what a match King. Undertaker ripped Mankind apart, he got revenge tonight. Ross: Too right, he’s looking like a human pin cushion at the moment. Lawler: That has to hurt JR, even Mankind. A tombstone onto the thumbtacks aswell as a chokeslam. Ross: Now though, King. It’s time for the WWF Championship match. Who will walk out of Over the Edge the champion? We’re about to find out. A video plays hyping up the Title match between The Champion Shawn Michael, Steve Austin and Ric Flair. vs.vs. The 3 men enter the ring and circle each other for a minute or so before Austin makes the first move performing a Lou Thez Press on Flair before unloading with multiply punches to his face. Flair and Austin beating the hell out of each other seems to satisfy Michaels as he just stands there in the corner ready to pick the bones. Michaels finally joins the action as nothing has been decided between Flair and Austin yet, their still trading offence. Flair has Austin in the corner and starts to deliver knife edge chops as the crowd shout woooooooo! Michaels throws Flair back and starts to deliver some knife edge chops of his own to Austin. The crowd’s mood changes quickly as they start to boo the Champion Michaels and call for the hometown hero Flair. Austin starts to fight back with lefts and rights to Michaels. He gives him a stone cold salute. Stunner! Austin goes for the pin. 1 2 Flair breaks it up. It was nearly over before it had started there. Flair gains the upper hand on Austin as Michaels is down after the stunner. Atomic drop by Flair followed by a clothesline off the ropes. Flair then sends Austin crashing out of the ring and onto the mat as he goes after Michaels. He kicks Michaels in the gut and follows it up with a neck breaker. Flair is on top at the moment and the crowd are willing him on. He drops the elbow onto Michaels a few time, but before he can attempt a figure four leg lock, Austin slides back into the ring and delivers a big impact spinebuster to Flair, but is then met by a crossbody from Michaels who had quickly ascended the top rope. Nobody has had a clear advantage yet with the offence being shared around all 3 men. It’s as close as your gonna get tonight. Michaels is fighting with Austin as Flair is down in the corner. Scoop slam from Michaels as he now climbs to the top rope. Flair quickly gets up and throws Michaels off the top rope and then locks in the four figure leg lock. It doesn’t take Austin long to break it, but it’s sure to have done some good damage to Michaels who needs those legs to be able to hit the sweet chin music. Austin takes Flair’s legs. He has the sharpshooter on! Flair won’t give up, but Michaels is on the outside unable to stand. He uses all his strength to try and move to the ropes. It’s no use. Austin pulls him back to the centre of the ring. Flair tries to reserve the hold but Austin is too strong, he will not let go. Suddenly Austin releases the hold. He see’s Michaels starting to get up on the outside and whips him into the steel steps. Austin re-enters the ring to find Flair still laying there motionless. He attempts another sharpshooter but Flair has it scouted and hit’s a chop block. With all his might Flair stands up. He calls for the figure four leg lock and crowd start to go crazy. They want to see their hometown hero with the belt around his waist. Flair turns back to face Austin but is met by a stunner. Austin hooks the leg as the referee counts. I’m joined, as always, by Jerry ’The King’ Lawler. Last night at Over the Edge we crowned a new champion, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. We’ll be hearing from him later tonight. King, have we ever seen a tougher champion than Austin? Lawler: I don’t think we have JR. He is one tough son of a b***h Ross: We will see the new champion in action tonight as he faces one half of the tag team Champions Vader in a non title match. By the end of all this Owen Hart, Lance Storm, Rocky Maivia and whoever else wants to get in our way will be crippled by the No.1 wrestler in the WWF today, ‘The Human Eradicator’ Triple H. Triple H starts to move towards Michaels who looks ready for action. Sid hooks Michaels in a full nelson allowing Triple H to deliver many brutal closed fists to Michaels’ face. Michaels is soon covered in blood as Triple H shows no sign of stopping the assault. He screams for The New Age Outlaws to get him a chair and a table. Triple H picks up the chair and warps it around the skull of Shawn Michaels 3 times, completely deforming the chair in the process. Come on JR, King; hell even Patterson, Brisco. Everyone at ringside get your ass in the ring and grab a beer. I’ve seen enough. We can’t have Austin representing the WWF as champion. At King of the Ring he will lose the Championship to, I think you’ll all agree, a worthy man in Sid Vicious. The Crowd boo as Sid takes a step forward and taunts the fans. Vince: Austin’s reign will be over before it’s even began and this man, Sid Vicious will rid you of this sordid champion. Austin: Shut your cakehole Vince before I do the honours myself. This champion is here to stay Vince and whatever you do it won’t be enough to stop ‘The Rattlesnake's’ reign here in the WWF. And that’s the bottom line coz ‘Stone Cold’ said so. Austin stares at Sid and Vince as the camera cuts the commercial. Ross: Well, I’m back at ringside with Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and King, we have our first match set for King of the Ring. Lawler: Oh it’s gonna be good JR. Austin has his first test at King of the Ring and it comes in the shape of ‘The Monster’ Sid Vicious. Ross: The odds will be stacked against him, I’m sure Vince will be involved in that match some way or another. Anyway, let’s continue with the King of the Ring tournament. It’s Jerry Lynn taking on X-Pac who’s is in fact making his in ring debut here in the WWF. I think it’s time we put an end to it at King of the Ring in a final match. The lights fade a little bit and The Undertaker’s face appears on screen. Undertaker: Not satisfied with the beating I gave you last night, well I think we can make an arrangement for another, but this time how about going against me in the most brutal structure ever created. This match was made to simply destroy a human being, but I'm no human being Mankind. I’m talking about a hell in a cell match! Wrestling News Jeff Jarrett Released by WWF The WWF has come to terms with the release of former Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett has reportedly been unhappy with many of the promotions decisions and has found himself being jobbed in recent weeks to up-and-coming stars such as Lance Storm, Great Sasuke and Kurt Angle. According to sources the WWF has been very unhappy with Jarrett’s behaviour backstage and have told on a number of occasions to stop with his pranks. He’s also been involved in some arguments with other known troublemakers Triple H and Shawn Michaels in which Jarrett was given the blame for starting. The final straw came when he apparently provoked former WWF Champion Shawn Michaels at the last show which resulted in a brawl between the two which had to be broken up by various WWF workers. With Michaels being groomed as one of the biggest draws in the WWF right now there was really only one option for Jarrett. Jarrett enjoyed success within the World Wrestling Federation. He held the coveted Intercontinental Title on three occasions the last being earlier this year. Before his run in the WWF he won the WCW United States Championship. Jarrett is said to be looking for work with the obvious option being WCW who are looking to get back in the driving seat in the war with the WWF. WWF have stolen talent such as Ric Flair and X-Pac and with a number of talented workers contracts expiring in the coming months we could be seeing even more moves. WCW could see this as a good chance to big back the popular Jarrett which would give things a much needed shake up. Shawn Michaels ‘Injured’ On Raw Triple H carried out a brutal assault on Shawn Michaels which ‘kayfabe’ injured him. Michaels has been asking for time off for a while now to recover from the gruelling schedule he and the rest of the WWF stars have to endure. We haven’t the slightest idea when Michaels will be back, but we’re hoping it’s sooner rather than later. WWF Suspensions After failing numerous drugs tests Bradshaw and Brian Christopher have been suspended without pay for one month. The suspensions started about one week ago so expect the two to be back in just over 20 days. The WWF are looking to clamp down on drugs, but we wonder whether the bigger superstars like Triple H and Sid Vicious are being tested and if they are then what type of punishment they receive is they test positive. WCW News The never ending title run continues. ‘Hollywood’ Hulk Hogan has nearly held the WCW Heavyweight Title for a year after winning it last year at the beginning of August. Big name superstars such as Sting and Bret Hart are reportedly unhappy at having to job to Hogan at nearly every pay per view. Though the crowd are delighted to see such stars as Hogan and Sting face off they are getting very bored with the same old stuff as Hogan just doesn’t look likely to drop the belt. WCW looks to be pushing for new talent at last as young Alex Wright was crowned the WCW United States Champion at Slamboree. He ends Curt Hennig’s stranglehold on the belt, he had held it since September. Other than the one title change everything else in WCW continues to be the same. They came off another poor PPV ,Slamboree, on Sunday, but look to have bounced back well as this weeks Nitro received some praise from the wrestling community. Hogan was finally defeated, but unfortunately it was a non title match. Luger was the lucky man to beat him. WCW continues to remain on top, but the WWF are fast closing in.

The Rock: Finally The Rock has come back to Connecticut. Triple H, you’ve faced off against Owen, you’ve been in the ring with Lance Storm, but The Rock wants a go at whipping that candy ass so when you get dumped out of the King of the Ring by my good friends Lance or Owen here, The Rock and Triple H will go at and this time The Rock will make sure you can’t cheat your way to victory. These fans wanna see it Hunter, they wanna see The Rock layeth the smacketh down on your candy ass so why don’t you get that candy ass that we talked about out here and put them out of their misery. The fans don’t know what to think as they are stunned by Rocky Maivia’s new alter ego. Jabroni, there is no Rocky, there is just The Rock. Triple H: Whatever your calling yourself these days, it doesn’t make any difference to me. I’ll beat your ass anytime, but I’m a bit tied up at the minute, I have plans to become King of the Ring and I can rest assure that Owen and Lance won’t stand in my way. I’ve beaten both of them already. I’ll gladly fight you Rocky, but it’s gonna have to wait. The Rock: First of all Hunter. Know your damn role and shut your mouth jabroni! The Rock don’t care about your King of the Ring plans or whatever, the fact of the matter is that I can guaran-damn-tee that that tournament will be won by Owen or Lance so why don’t you just agree to the damn match. Triple H: I don’t even know what I’m arguing for, why would I care about a match with you anyway, what have you ever done in this company? I’ll answer it for you, f**k all! That’s what. How dare you stand there and question The Rocks commitment to this buisness. The Rock will get his match no matter what he has to do. If you smell lalaa owww what The Rock is cookin. We’re the best, it’s as simple as that and don’t get me wrong, we’re ready to prove it. I can assure you that those belts that nobody thinks Big Bam Vader will ever be defeated for, will be around our waists by the end of the year.
