SCCW: The Revival

Recommended Posts

OOC: I'm hoping to erase the disappointment of my last dynasty with PGHW here on this one. After a few months with the new game engine, I felt as though it was time to give another go to writing a diary. This time I decided to go away from my usual territory of Japan and revive an old southern favorite. Here's hoping it doesn't suck :D Also, as a side note, I will be using a small amount of pictures that have been rendered by other people on the boards. I haven't as of yet been able to figure out who did a few of them, so if any of the artists in question object to their images' use on here, let me know privately and I'll be sure to take them down. SCCW: The Revival This man is insane. That was the only thought running through my head as I sat across from my boss, Mr. Thomas. I'd been working as his assistant for just under three years now, ever since I graduated from college. It's been something of a hassle, what with his odd requests and the constant running of errands, but it had all been more or less manageable up to this point. The current conversation really began about a year ago as I was sitting in next to Mr. Thomas in his limo between meetings, running down the list of tasks that were yet to be done and prepping him on the clients that we were on our way to meet. Mr. Thomas sat sipping chamomile tea, as per usual, and ignoring me, as per usual, while watching a broadcast of SWF's show from the night before. "This is rubbish," Mr. Thomas muttered aloud. "What, the Haverson deal? Granted the short term gains aren't too high, but we're planning for the long..." I managed to ramble in before being cut off. "No, not the Haverson deal. I meant this show here. It's as if Eisen has lost his mind." "Well, sir, I think it's more that he lost his booker. Sam Keith got canned after the Election angle and jumped ship to TCW. Michaels is decent, but he's nowhere near as good a booker as Keith is, and so SWF have been in scramble mode ever since." Mr. Thomas just sort of stared at me for a minute, and placed his hand to his chin, a tell that I've learned to dread over the years, before chiming in with "So you're a wrestling fan, I take it?" I stammered and tried to shuffle through the papers in my lap hoping for something to jump out at me and steer this conversation anywhere else, but finding nothing I let out my defeated reply. "Well, yes. I grew up in Tennessee, and father always took me to the small independent shows when I was younger. I really got hooked by SCCW when I was in high school though." "SCCW? I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the company." Mr. Thomas muttered, leaning in to listen intently. As long as I was I wasn't going to get out of this conversation, I might as well drop some knowledge on the man. "Southern Championship Class Wrestling. It was Shane Sneer's company, who I believe is a commentator for USPW now. It was a great company, a really old-school southern promotion. He had a good run down in the Tennessee area for a few years before he went bankrupt. It's a shame too, because no one has ever really jumped in after the company folded, even with how much success Sneer had down there. Aside from the occasional TCW or SWF show, there's not really a whole lot of wrestling going on in the South East. If somebody with some money behind them could get something started down there, they'd make a killing." Mr. Thomas just nodded to himself before we arrived for the meeting, and I more or less forgot about the conversation completely until this moment. I went into Mr. Thomas' office when he arrived this morning to give him the rundown of the day's itinerary when he tossed three gold belts on the desk in front of him. "Uh... are these a part of the fall line sir? Should I get Editorial to do a write up for the catalog?" "No, no, Adrian," He smiled, his fingertips tapping together in front of his mouth before motioning towards the belts with a wave of his hand. These are for you." "I don't understand, sir. Is this a bonus of some kind? Because if it is, and forgive me if I sound ungrateful, but I can't imagine where I would wear them." Mr. Thomas looked confused, and I thought for sure I'd be fired on the spot for insulting his presents, but he clarified."No, Adrian. This is your new assignment. I'm somewhat surprised and, frankly, alarmed that you don't recognize them." I took a closer look at the belts and my heart sank as I realized what was in front of me. On the desk, amid neatly piled stacks of prints for wool hats and some kind of ill-advised green and gold knit poncho sat three gold belts carrying the SCCW logo on them. Sensing that I recognized his gifts, Mr. Thomas went on. "Do you remember that conversation we had in the limo a year or so back? Well what you had said got me thinking. I've fooled around with some West Coast groups here and there, but I've never really committed full time to the wrestling business. But, I managed to dig up some old tapes of SCCW and gave them a watch, and it wasn't too bad. They had some talented guys down there and the fans really ate it up. So after a year or so of negotiations, I managed to buy the rights to the company from Mr. Sneer himself, and I'm planning on reopening Southern Championship Class Wrestling in Tennessee." I didn't want to know the answer to the question I was about to ask, but I asked it anyway. "So what does this have to do with my new assignment, sir?" "You're going to run it, Adrian. You know the company, you knew what it was, and, moreover, you're due for a promotion anyway." I tried to interject, but he just kept talking. "I've arranged a plane to take you down to Tennessee this afternoon. Dawn is already waiting down there for you, getting everything set up." I started to speak, but he cut me off again. "Dawn is your new assistant." I stood there, completely dumbfounded, as he stood up and shook my hand. "Congratulations, Adrian." This man is insane.

Rounding Up the Troops As the car pulled up to the warehouse, I was still in shock over Mr. Thomas' promotion. How exactly did he plan on me reviving Southern Championship Class Wrestling? It had been dead for years - who knows if anyone still even remembers it? I tipped the driver and slung my bag over my shoulder as I headed for the door. However, the door flung inward as I reached for the knob, and I was greeted by a bubbly blond who was so excited it looked like she was about to pass out. "HIIIIII! Let me take your bag! My name is Dawn! Dawn Stratton! I'm your new assistant, but I'm sure Mr. Thomas already told you about that - haha. Hi!" I don't think she took a breath once. "Uh, hey... Dawn. Listen I know you're excited about all this, but this isn't exactly going to be a walk in the park. Do you even know what we're supposed to be doing down here?" "Oh that reminds me! Mr. Thomas wanted you to call him as soon as you got in. He has some news for you, some kind of business briefing. I'll be working on your appointments for the day." She thrust a phone at me that was already ringing on the other end before I could even ask her what appointments she was talking about. I pressed the phone to my ear just in time to hear a voice on the other end. "Ah, Adrian. I trust you had a good flight. Now let's get down to business, shall we? The first thing that you need to be informed about is your budget. I've trimmed some fat here and there, and I've managed to free up one million dollars for you to start with." "A million dollars? Are you sure I'm going to need that much, sir?" I swallowed hard, almost afraid of handling that much of Mr. Thomas' money. "Well I trust there will be some losses in the first year while we try and get things rolling. But I do have some goals for you to meet. Mostly just dealing with restrictions on who you can hire, but there is a very important matter that will need you full attention. Are you ready?" I swallowed hard, dreading to hear what news was coming forth. "Yes, sir. Go ahead." "You're a small company right now, Adrian. I don't want to see you getting any smaller. I don't care about the money, but I need to see growth in the company." "That's it? You just don't want me getting smaller?" "Well that's not all, Adrian. As for the people you can hire, I'll leave it fairly open, with a few exceptions. Firstly, I don't mind paying top dollar for stars, but I want stars that will be able to wrestle, so I don't want anybody on the roster with a history of spending most of their time in the E.R. Understood? And aside from wrestlers actually wrestling, I want them to be able to do it well. I want a strong grasp of the basics, and I want everybody to have at least some idea of what goes into a good match, so study the tapes I sent you closely. There's some good stuff on a few of those guys, and some of them are even SCCW alumni. The rest is up to you, Adrian. Good luck." * * * * * I sat in a chair with my chin in my hands as I watched the men in the ring going through their drills. Dawn walked up to me with some notes as the wrestlers continued their tryouts. "Mr. Rosenberg, I have some good news. We've gotten a list of commitments here, and our ads have been creating some good buzz." "Good. Do me a favor. Get Graham out of here - he's god awful. Prince can stay." I took the list of people who had signed on to be a part of the new SCCW, and one name jumped out at me. "Shane Sneer."

Meet The Players - Part 1 The Old Guard The man behind the former vision of Southern Championship Class Wrestling was the first person announced as being a part of the revival. He signed on early to be a part of the new company, taking on the role of color commentator. Ernie Turner had been unemployed for quite some time before we contacted him for work, so he was happy to jump back on the SCCW bandwagon. He just asked that we not make him wear a mask this time. Even though his alcohol dependency had downgraded his skills somewhat, Griffith was a big part of SCCW back in its heyday, and after assuring us that he was clean and sober now, we welcomed him back into the fold. Brady Prince had been a big part of the tag team division alongside Buck Graham as one half of the Maryland Alliance, but had since reinvented himself as a brawler. Unfortunately, his partner hadn't reinvented himself as a decent wrestler, so Prince joined the new promotion as a solo act. The former "Soul Man" of SCCW actually contacted us, and after seeing that he still had some go in his step, we welcomed him back into the fold. Whether or not he can repeat his former success remains to be seen. Sanders was kind of a wild card, as he wasn't terribly popular outside of his tag team with the Punisher, but being that the Punisher wasn't nearly on the same level as Sanders, we brought Sanders in solo for nostalgia's sake, hoping that we could find something worthwhile for him to do.

They had loads of tag teams, and if I was to have any kind of success in reviving the old brand I needed to bring out some decent teams, but unfortunately the old teams had become, well... old. That's why it was crucial to bring in Howard and Rayne, as well as Waldorf and Statler to be the cornerstones of the division. I knew I had Sneer in the commentating booth, but I needed somebody to pair him with. I brought in Remmington Remus to handle the announcing duties, but a young rookie announcer by the name of Ramon Riggs kind of just showed up at our door one morning looking for a job. He seemed to have some spunk, so I threw him in the booth as well. With Sneer tied up in the booth it freed up some spots for some new managers. I didn't really have any interest in bringing back Herb Stately, seeing as I hadn't brought the Tennessee Outlaws back, so we went with Playboy Jack Sawyer and Sara Silver. Sawyer I had seen I had met with in person, but Silver I had seen on tapes from her work in BSC, and I thought she had the potential to be huge in SCCW. Graveson I brought in as referee, as despite his attitude problems, he was a great referee. Duncan Kendall was brought in as the lead road agent to round out the staff, giving us a good starting point in controlling the backstage. The rest of the names should be familiar to you, or will hopefully become familiar soon. Coming Up Next: Here We Go...

Here We Go I paced nervously as Dawn and I went over the plans for the upcoming show. Due to us still being relatively small in stature, we ended up having to work around all the workers schedules if we were to go along with everything as planned. This lead to us having the unwelcome honor of debuting on a Thursday night, which had Dawn and I a little nervous about the gates. "We have a great advertising campaign, and the matches that we've announced seem to be attracting people." Dawn reasoned. "But it's the middle of the week! Clearly we need a big show to make these guys realize that this isn't just a one-off reunion show. We can't work around their schedules forever." It had been somewhat frustrating, as the fan support was there, but the fall of SCCW had left some skeptical opinions from those in the business. Not everybody, it seemed, was ready jump back on board the SCCW bandwagon. Everything was riding on this first show - if it bombed, there wasn't going to be much of a chance for the big SCCW revival that Mr. Thomas and I had planned. So Dawn and I decided that the best route to take was bringing in one more big name for the show. We were having a special tournament to crown the new SCCW Champion, and we had an empty slot to fill. We needed somebody that could deliver the goods in addition to drawing the fans in, so we went with everybody's favorite ring general. Steve would be the final man in the tournament, and we also decided to crown the new tag champions on the show to stack the deck in our favor. We had our fingers crossed that the show would deliver. SCCW The Rumble in Tennessee One Night Only! Many were looking forward to the tournament, with more than a few just happy to see Jack Griffith and the like in action again. The announce team took to the ring first to open the night. "Well, let me just say... that you people are still as ugly, stinking, and ignorant as you were when I left this sweat box five years ago!" The crowd begins to jeer loudly as Sneer throws down the microphone to the confusion of Remus and Riggs, who nonetheless follow him to the announce booth. Despite the experience difference, Cattley is no stranger himself to tournaments, having competed in the Rip Chord Invitational a number of times, with another chance at the cup coming tomorrow night. Despite having some good technical skills, and managing to catch up to Flash's superior flying skills towards the end of the matchup, Cattley was still unable to make it a two tournament sweep, and should hope he has better luck in the Invitational tomorrow night. Unluckily for him, his opponent was the psychotic Insane Heat, who steamrolled his way through the young Poison with his unique brawling style, finally taking the young Canadian down with a powerbomb for the pinfall victory. His opponent, fittingly, was a mainstay of the promotion during it's maiden voyage. Despite being known for his work in the tag team ranks, Sanders more than held his own here against Marlowe. However, perhaps unfamiliarity was his undoing, as he ended up falling victim to a Jungle Jack Hammer for the pinfall, ending his dream of holding the title that eluded him in his first tenure. Martin, while a stranger to SCCW, was no stranger to the fans, who remembered his work with DAVE during that company's run. Both men put on quite a bout, with Martin coming within inches of victory twice during the contest. However, Griffith showed everyone that he was the same dirty cheat that he was years ago, managing to lace Martin across the brow with some brass knuckles before pinning the unconscious Martin to advance in the tournament. However, this would be quite a different contest for both men than they had experienced in the opening round, given the vast style differences from their previous opponents. Flash looked to have things more or less in hand, before Heat decided to take matters into his own hands. After getting knocked from the ring by Flash, Heat reentered with a steel chair in hand, bringing it down hard across the top of Flash's head for the DQ. Griffith stayed true to his rule-bending self, at one point nearly gaining a pinfall by using the ropes as leverage. However, his tricks got the better of him, as Johnny Martin stormed down the aisle sporting a fresh bandage on his head when he saw Griffith reach for the brass knuckles while the referee was checking on Marlowe. Martin managed to wrestler the knuckles away from Griffith on the apron and socked him with them, allowing Marlowe to hoist the dazed former champion up with a Jungle Jack Hammer to advance to the finals. Both duos are quite experienced tag teams, and the added presence of Sawyer proved to be quite meddlesome for Howard and Rayne. Still, the young former MAW stars kept strong, and used their superior brawling skills to keep the Ring Generals off balance. All was for naught, though, as while Waldorf had Rayne indisposed and with the referee trying to regain order, Sawyer was able to smash his martini glass across the forehead of Howard, sending him stumbling back into a Backdrop Backbreaker by Statler to give the young Generals the victory! We brought Southern Championship Class Wrestling back to life, and we did it the way I wanted. The show was a huge success, and fans had been sending in letters to "the office" (as we have officially dubbed the warehouse we've been operating out of) thanking us for such a great night of wrestling. Things couldn't have gone more smoothly. Still, I couldn't let myself get too caught up in the hype surrounding the show. Sure, we put on a great first event, but it was more or less just the title tournament, minus the tag team match. It wasn't rocket science to get a good card out of our eight biggest stars. Plus, we showed almost nothing but wrestling, which wasn't part of my long term plans. I didn't want to be the southern SWF, but at the same time I definitely wanted some storylines and angles going. I made sure to plant the seeds for some big feuds during the show, but there's no guarantee that those would deliver. I decided to check in with the boss and get some input. "Adrian! So good to hear from you. Congrats on the first show. I caught the tape that Dawn sent me, and I'm quite pleased with how you managed the return event." "Thank you, Mr. Thomas. It was a good show, but NYCW still blew us away the week before. I'm afraid that with their size advantage and such a similar product they could divide our audience." It was a true enough statement - NYCW's show the week before ours was fantastic, and the dirt sheets placed us second on the independent rankings for the month. Call me naive, but I still put some faith in those things. "Relax, Adrian. It was the first show. You have to remember that NYCW has been around for twenty years. If anything, they should be worried about you stealing their fans. Plus, the Stomper is on his way out of the business, so who knows how things will go without him at the helm. How'd we do money wise?" I gulped a bit before answering. "I'm afraid I lost a little over three grand of your money, sir." Mr. Thomas just laughed on the other end of the line."Three thousand dollars? That's nothing in terms of a loss for the first month of a new business. And besides, with the buzz your show got, I can guarantee that your ticket sales will go up for the next one. When is your next show, anyway?" "In three weeks. It looks like we're stuck on Thursdays for the time being." I wasn't happy about that development. Jungle Jack's schedule with GCG was killing us. I knew it was a gamble putting the belt on him, but I was beginning to have my doubts about the decision. Plus, The Insane Heat was busy on Sunday's with him geriatric tag team in Canada, which pretty much killed the whole weekend for the month. At least Jack's tour should be over at the end of February. "That's kind of why I called you, sir. You're much better at marketing than I am, and quite frankly have much more experience in this business than I do. I was wondering if you had any ideas for what to do for the next show. I don't want a sophomore slump, afterall." Mr. Thomas paused briefly before answering. "I'd say you have a better idea of where things are going than I do. It looks to be that you've got a few different options for feuds, and I'd see how they pan out. Don't worry about still being in the testing phase. The fans will be more patient than you think." After the phone call, I felt a bit better. I suppose I just needed some reinforcement. Plus, I had just gotten a tape from a new rookie tag team that looked like they would fit right in. After telling Dawn to contact them, I went ahead and booked the show. We both were feeling pretty good about how it all went down. Even without a tournament bringing people in, our ticket sales were up and we still put on a great show. "Alright Dawn, I need an outside perspective here. What are we doing right so far?" "Okay! Umm... people seem to like the Martin and Griffith storyline that we've been running, and they definitely like how things are going with Flash and Heat. And for some unknown reason Rick Sanders seems to be able to do no wrong - even with his tag match with Warren Technique not going how we would have liked his momentum still seems to be going through the roof." "Fair enough. Now for the tough one - what do we need to work on as we go forward?" Dawn paused a bit before she answered. "Well, honestly, people don't really seem to care too much about our midcarders, and the tag team division in particular seems to be going less than stellar, although it's working out well for Sawyer. I wouldn't count on him sticking around too long, though. I've heard people talking in the locker room that SWF might be interested in him." This was news I did not want to hear. I had planned on making Sawyer one of the focal points of the promotion somewhere down the line, possibly putting a stable around him like Sneer had back when he was working as a manager in SCCW in its first run. "I can live with that. Any ideas on what we could do to make things a little more interesting as far as the midcard goes?" "Well we definately have the talent. The problem is that no one seems to know who they are. We need to get the younger guys established. Maybe sign some enhancement talents for the time being, to build the young guys up a bit before we try putting them in feuds?" The idea had some merit, I had to admit. And bringing in some enhancement talents would also help weed out the weaker guys. The roster was fairly good, but there were definitely some guys that I would like to see step it up a notch or two. "Mr. Rosenberg? There was something else that I wanted to mention to you. A potential signing that you might be interested in. I have the tape here if you get a chance to watch it." She handed me a VHS tape with a handwritten label across it. It read "Primus Allen". This might be interesting. Still, the champion was in rare form, and pressed the fight whenever he was involved. However, the real story in this contest was the continuing struggle between the Insane Heat and Steve Flash, which has been going down a dangerous path for months now. OOC: Trekkie, I'm glad to see that you're on board here. Hopefully this won't take valuable time away from you updating your own dynasty and entertaining me. On a side note, I'm toying with the idea of doing another (unrelated) dynasty, but this one has been going quite well so far, and there seems to be smatterings of people that are enjoying reading it, so it's quite a debate at the moment. I was thinking about doing them both concurrently, but I'm no James Casey, and my output on this particular one has been what one would call "steady", so any thoughts would be appreciated. A Slight Speed Bump I sipped my soda as I looked over the numbers from the night before, my brow furrowing at what lay on the papers before me. We had been on a big roll up until now, but Kings of the South hadn't delivered quite as well as our past two shows. The feuds were fleshing out interestingly enough, but I got the feeling that they might be losing steam, particularly the program between Martin and Griffith. Attendance was down as well, which I also wasn't very happy about. Still, it was only our third show, and I couldn't expect to continue at the pace we had been working at forever. I was starting to seriously heed Dawn's advice of developing the undercard, but there was another problem. The roster was already getting bloated, and her idea for enhancement talents to help develop talent would have to wait, at least for the time being. Plus there was the added competition from NYCW, who have been on a tear recently, pumping out great show after great show. I had tried to get a program working with them, toying with the idea of an NYCW invasion of SCCW, but the Stomper wouldn't give me the time of day. Still, I had an idea to try and turn things around. Our next show was scheduled for the third week in April, and while we were back on Thursdays after GCG pried Marlowe away from us again, I had a card planned that I knew would draw people in. It would be a sort of "supercard", which I knew would bring in the gates. SCCW Presents Best in the South East! Live, Thursday, April 18th! Don't worry, I can multi-task like that :p haha. Kirk Jameson vs. Dazzling Dave Diamond - Kirk's the more talented, so I go for him, but I might well be wrong due to Triple D being more popular I believe. Primus Allen vs. Elijah Harris - again, personal preference on this one, as Allen is a great young talent while Harris, although a SCCW original, is on his way out of the business at his age. D.C. Rayne vs. Marv Statler - to even up the feud a lil' bit, I suspect foul play from Playboy. Lead Belly vs. The Masked Patriot - I would like to say Patriot from a talent point of view and for long term reasons, but at the moment I have to say Lead Belly. Johnny Martin & Joey Poison vs. Jack Griffith & Mean Jean Cattley - Random pick here I will be honest, as it could go either way for me. Rick Sanders vs. Jungle Jack - Jack should have a longer reign than he has had so far so I don't think he'll drop it here, but Sanders could well take the belt.

Just getting on board with this one, looks pretty good so far :) Kirk Jameson vs. Dazzling Dave Diamond Kirk's got more upside, maybe I'm also very biased towards him because in my diary he's currently out performing some of my 'name' veterans. Primus Allen vs. Elijah Harris Exactly what Trekkie said D.C. Rayne vs. Marv Statler I'll go for another Natural storm win, as the seductress outwits the bounder in the battle of interfering managers Lead Belly vs. The Masked Patriot Patriot's time will come but Lead Belly takes the win at this stage, Patriot needs to be built up with some wins over so lower carders first. Johnny Martin & Joey Poison vs. Jack Griffith & Mean Jean Cattley As Trekkie said could go either way, so i'll go the opposite way Rick Sanders vs. Jungle Jack Jack to retain the title.

OOC: I'm trying something different this time, and foregoing the usual graphics. The reason being is that while aesthetically pleasing, they are quite time consuming, and I think my be a heavily contributing factor as to why I wait so long between posts. Any comments about the new style are very much welcome. Anywho, on with... SCCW Presents Best in the South East! Kirk Jameson vs. Dazzling Dave Diamond A very good opener, albeit a little long, and Jameson is quickly showing himself to be a valuable member of the undercard. Diamond, while tiring rather early, also fared considerably better than was expected, and managed to pull off the underhanded win by grabbing a fistful of tights during a rollup. Dazzling Dave Diamond beat Kirk Jameson by pinfall with a handful of tights - Rating: D+ Backstage, Playboy Jack Sawyer enters the lockerroom of Natural Storm, where Southern Belle and D.C. Rayne are talking about Rayne's match against Marv Statler later on that night. Both rise to their feet at Sawyer's entrance. "What do you think you're doing in here? Trying to pick up an inside edge over my boy Rayne here? Lord knows Statler can't beat him alone." "Nonsense, my dear Belle. Perish the thought. I simply come with a wager for tonight's match. You see, I'm not a heartless man, and I know your boys here are just itching to get another shot at the titles, and since Waldorf... lost... to Eddie Howard last month, I've decided to be generous and offer this proposition - if Rayne can defeat Statler here tonight, then the Natural Storm will get another title shot, and I agree to be barred from ringside." Southern Belle raised and eyebrow, and looked back at Rayne, who nodded silently in agreement, a big smile coming over his face. She turned back to Sawyer, and shot out her hand. "You've got yourself a deal, Sawyer." Looking slightly repulsed at the hand before him, Sawyer nonetheless shook it, sealing the agreement. He then turned and walked out of the dressing room, a sly grin coming over his face. Heat used his signature powerbomb for the victory, and once more after the match for kicks. The Insane Heat beat Mason McCormick by pinfall with a powerbomb - Rating: D- After the match, the Insane Heat looked ready to continue his assault on young McCormick, when suddenly through the crowd Steve Flash appeared, leaping the guard rail and diving into the ring! Flash hit Heat repeatedly with heavy punches, backing the big man up against the ropes, before hitting a running clothesline to carry Heat over the top rope and onto the floor. Flash then got on the mic and had some words for the Insane Heat. "Heat, you and I have a big score to settle. Since I've come to SCCW, you've been trying to flat out end my career! Well, I say that next month, you and I face each other in a loser leaves town match! The two men fought quite well, with neither one really gaining an advantage over the other. The end came somewhat shockingly, as right when it looked as though Rayne had things in hand, Dean Waldorf ran down the aisle and attacked him from behind, earning Statler the DQ and Natural Storm a title shot! D.C. Rayne beat Marv Statler by DQ when Dean Waldorf interfered - Rating: D- After the match, however, Waldorf and Rayne continued beating down Rayne. In a moment that is probably as controversial as any so far in SCCW's short history, Waldorf locked the ankle of Rayne inside a steel chair, then with his partner's help, came down with a vicious stomp on the steel chair, possibly shattering the ankle of D.C. Rayne! Howard finally made it down to the ring to clear chaos, but the damage had clearly been done. Playboy Jack Sawyer was laughing as he took a microphone from ringside.
