SWF: Generation Supreme
I've got my theories as to who Payne is too, but I'm probably way off, and I don't want to say anything in case I'm wrong, and spoil it for the people who haven't thought of it, if you know what I mean.
By all means, PM me if you want to make a guess. The debut is going to be the pay per view, which isn't far off game time but will probably take me a bit to get to in the diary. So if you want to guess, just PM me. I'll let you know if you are right or wrong. I'd just simply ask that you don't reveal it to the other readers if you do get it right.

News, rumors, and interviews, all brought to you by the incomparable Duane Fry. Preview for podcast available Wednesday, Week 1, August 2008 "So I would really like someone to explain to me exactly why Texas Pete has done thus far in the Supreme Wrestling Federation to earn himself a title shot? The Texas Hammer will be up against SWF Supreme Champion Christian Faith on SWF Legends tonight. Everything points to the match being put together by Eric Tyler, as the new General Manager of the Legends brand continues to flex his new powers. Most will expect another straight-ahead title defense for Faith, but the man is 42-years old... Should he really be in high-level matches every week?" "The newest member of the Samoan Family made his debut last week. Rhino Umaga is actually the brother of Akima Brave, and they're experience together showed even in a losing effort. The big Samoan looked very dangerous in the match. He has a bit challenge ahead of him this week as he faces for SWF World Championship Steve Frehley." "Should Bart Biggz beat Akima Brave this week on SWF Legends, he will face SWF Shooting Star champion Kid Toma at the Welcome to the Jungle 2008 pay per view. I had a chance to talk to Bart this week, and the man is focused. He really wants that belt, feeling like it will prove the Biggz still matter in the new SWF. I haven't seen Bart this determined in many years. Best of luck to him." "For those who love a good old brawl, we will get to see "The King of the Streets" Kurt Laramee face off against the powerful Ray Diaz. This one should be a good old fashioned knock-down barn-stormer!" "Speaking of the Welcome to the Jungle 2008 pay per view, we know that Vengeance will face Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship. With barely a week to go before the big show, I'm told we will learn some of the match-ups tonight. Just another reason you can't miss SWF Legends. Catch it on CBA tonight!"
The Fry Report will be available on SWF.com or directly from iTunes.
An extra special feature for the Fry Report... A preview of the matches lined up for SWF Legends this week! Steve Frehley vs Rhino Umaga Umaga's no where near established enough yet to go over the Dark Destroyer. Death Row vs Jett Stream (Jacob Jett + Mainstream Hernandez) Death Row who don't really fit into the Sky Club direction of the Legends brand tag division, do the job putting over Jett Stream. Ray Diaz vs Kurt Laramee Not totally unconceivable for Laramee to win but I think Diaz will have the edge in this one. Brandon James vs Remmy Skye Squash ??? vs Bloodstone for the SWF Legends Championship I'm thinking either Art Reed will transfer over from the Supreme brand or you'll do something like bring up Steve Flash from his trainer role for a one shot deal. I just don't see ??? being a big debut and who ever he is Bloodstone wil retain. Texas Pete vs Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship You know that unless he's up against a jobber I'm never going to pick Texas Pete :p Regardless of that fact I don't see Faith dropping his title in a regular T.V main event.

Steve Frehley vs Rhino Umaga Umaga is nowhere near Frehley's level Death Row vs Jett Stream (Jacob Jett + Mainstream Hernandez) As a team these two could go a long way, especially in the Sky Division Ray Diaz vs Kurt Laramee Diaz is being pushed as a threat and we all know that Laramee is simple cannon fodder Brandon James vs Remmy Skye Skye has a lot of potential but Brandon is a notch or two above him currently ??? vs Bloodstone for the SWF Legends Championship Bloodstone isn't gonna relenquish that title for a while I don't think Texas Pete vs Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship Faith is in a different league Out of interest, what product do you use for this game? Is it just the default SWF Product or is it one you created yourself?
Out of interest, what product do you use for this game? Is it just the default SWF Product or is it one you created yourself?
Yep, just default SWF. I've never played with product settings enough to want to adjust things. I don't think (thought I'm not absolutely sure) that the default product of Supreme really takes to the high-flying that much. Which means the Sky Club Division is never going to become a major centerpiece. That's fine, though. I just hope it doesn't drag down the match ratings for those matches much. This looks like a pretty straight-ahead card. I've pretty much given up on trying to make things tougher to pick. For one, I'm not about to change my booking style and have lower guys going over top guys just for the sake of a shock. When that happens, there's a reason. Crash TV this is not. And two, I've come to realize that pay per view quality matches are often best saved for pay per views. I do have some things I'm going to try in terms of booking, but its probably going to moreso affect the Supreme brand. I'm trying not to make the ??? thing too much of a habit, but again, I want the debut to come through in story terms in the show. Its kinda both a brand switch and a diary debut at the same time... which shouldn't make it too hard to figure out... I did switch the show back to two hours for this one and found it massively limiting. Ended up dropping several matches and angles that I had planned, so its back to 2 1/2 hours for next week. Two 2 1/2 shows on TV each weeks is a lot... but I feel like I can justify it as the only competition that SWF has on air right now is USPW, if you can even call that competition. Plus, the show grades aren't negatively affected, so... And TK, you are absolutely correct about Death Row not fitting into the tag team scene on Legends, due to the Sky Club Division aspect. Which is part of why I'm keeping them there for the moment - it amuses me. One last note - I just realized this has gone over 400 posts now... Wow, never figured this would last anywhere near this far. So once, thanks to all the readers for helping make it last this long.

I'm back, here are my predictions: Steve Frehley vs Rhino Umaga I doubt that Umaga can pull out a win here... Death Row vs Jett Stream (Jacob Jett + Mainstream Hernandez) Death Row have no business in the SWF if ya ask me. Ray Diaz vs Kurt Laramee You've been giving a lot of focus on Ray Diaz as of late, and I doubt that it will be different tonight Brandon James vs Remmy Skye Squash ??? vs Bloodstone for the SWF Legends Championship I bet that it'll probably be Steve Flash making a one time appearence to lose to Bloodstone Texas Pete vs Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship I'll probably regret it, but I believe Texas Pete will get a DQ win over Faith, with Golden and his goons delivering a post match beatdown

Working on the Legends show currently and hope to have it up sometime later today. Mainly, I wanted to note that I have been adjusting the front page as James Casey suggested, including alliances and tag teams on the roster listing. I am open to any suggestions on how to make it even cleaner and easier to read.

Back down to two hours this week and what a two hours its going to be! With me in the booth tonight are Melanie Florence and the incomparable Phil Vibert. Phil Vibert: I've been compared to many things, Duane, and most of them weren't pleasant. It seems slightly tense, with the Big Money duo on the opposite side of the ring as Frehley and Diaz. Eric Tyler: Welcome to another week of SWF Legends and another week of Mr. Tyler Says. This week, I want to address the number one contender situation for the SWF Supreme Championship. Now Christian Faith will defend the belt next week at Welcome to the Jungle 2008 against Vengeance. That is, assuming that Faith manages to retain the belt until then... This draws the ire of the crowd. Tyler smirks as they boo. Eric Tyler: I've been approached by a number of individuals over the past week to discuss the opportunity to be the next to wrestle for the Supreme Championship. After much deliberation, I am pleased to announce that at the pay per view next week, "Big Money" Brandon James will face former SWF World Heavyweight champion Steve Frehley. The winner will receive a title shot at Under Control 2008 in September. This elicits another crowd reaction, but positive this time. Tyler lets them quiet down again before he continues. Tyler looks towards the Supreme Gate, as if he expects to be interrupted, but it doesn't happen. Eric Tyler: Now, I'm sure a few individuals will feel left out at this decision. Well, that's just too d*mn bad for them. They will get a chance to prove themselves at the pay per view as well. I am a firm but fair General Manager. And I think that's enough for Mr. Tyler Says for this week... Emma Chase looks pleased with herself while Frehley and Diaz don't look particularly impressed... James just looks blank, as he normally does. Grade: A
Duane Fry: Frehley... James... at the Welcome to the Jungle pay per view! The two big powerful men spend several minutes battering away at each other, with Frehley take the edge and control of the match. It takes some interference from BJ O'Neill for Umaga to gain the advantage but Frehley powers back again. The former champion is not going to be denied in this match. Umaga is pinned after a Dark Destroyer Spear. Eisen has his smug little smirk on his face and the jeers of the crowd don't change it. He climbs into the ring and grabs the microphone. Eric Eisen: First of all, I'd like to be one of those complaining about the Number One Contender match at Welcome to the Jungle.... James and Frehley? What have those two done lately? Mr. Tyler, I respect you, but if you keep making decisions like that, I'll start thinking you might be no more effective than Vibert was. This draws the ire of the crowd. Eisen smirks at them. Eric Eisen: But the Eisen family does have high hopes for you, Mr. Tyler. We truly do. Now, the real reason I came out here was to address some comments made last week by Steve Frehley. When Frehley confronted Vengeance, he said that "there are rules". And he is absolutely correct. But what what Steve Frehley seems to forget a bit too often is that he isn't the one who makes those rules. He isn't the only forgetful one. Frehley is one of a few wrestlers on this brand who seem to forget sometimes that they are nothing more than contracted employees. That they are replaceable. They aren't family. That's something they should keep in mind that this isn't their brand or their show. It belongs to the Eisen's. That's what me and Train are here for - to protect the interests of the Eisen's. Now... Steven Frehley + Ray Diaz There is a huge pop from the crowd as Frehley and Diaz walk out through the Supreme Gate and onto the stage at the top of the ramp. Frehley is still in his ring gear. Both men look more amused than angry at this point. Steve Frehley: I'm gonna have to interrupt you here, Eisen. Because no one here wants to listen to any more of your whining. One thing you've never learned in all your years in the SWF, Eric, is that words don't matter. What you do in the ring does. So if you want to prove something, do it in the ring. Eric Eisen: Prove something in the ring? What exactly do I need to prove, Frehley? Steve Frehley: Well, you're complaining about not being in the Number One Contender's match at the pay per view... You could try proving that you deserve that. Eric Eisen: Maybe you aren't bright enough to comprehend statistics, Frehley, but my won-loss record of late is quite exemplary... Steve Frehley: And wins over who? The Sky Club kids. You act like those wins have big meaning. You want a big win, try me. Or even try Ray here. He tamed that little puppy of yours last week. Why don't you see how you'd do against him? Train clearly takes exception to that, and starts to make like he's going to go after the duo on the stage. Eisen stays him with the wave of his hand. Eric Eisen: While the offer is tempting, Frehley I wouldn't be so presumptuous as to try to make a match. That's the job of our esteemed General Manager Mr. Tyler. But I'll talk to him and see what we can set up for next week. Steve Frehley: I bet you will. Just know that me and Ray will take on either or both of you anytime. That's just the way it is. Frehley drops the microphone, departing the stage with Diaz. Eisen doesn't look impressed. Grade: A
Phil Vibert: You know, I'm shocked. I really expected Eisen to step up and accept that offer. I really did! The smaller duo attempt to use their quickness to their advantage as well, but they aren't able to do it as effectively as High Concept could and they lack the fluid teamwork. As always, Golden is the one to take up the microphone. He waits until the hatred from the crowd dies down before he speaks. Rocky Golden: I know most of you fans aren't that bright, but you may have noticed that a certain someone isn't with us tonight. A certain loser. For those that didn't catch on last week, Troy Tornado isn't a member of the Golden Faction any longer. Rocky Golden doesn't tolerate failure, and Tornado did nothing but fail. Kristen Pearce: Its not so much that we kicked him out as he made the decision for us. Rocky Golden: That's right. But we don't want you think we're done with Troy. Oh no. We've got a Golden Lesson to teach him. He's not here tonight, apparently, but when we see him again, we'll gladly remind him what a failure he is... over and over and over again... Now, I could complain right now about being left out of the Number One Contender's match at the pay per view and what a travesty that is, but all that kind of goes without saying. So instead, I'll give the mic over to my friend here, Bloodstone. Bloodstone: Thanks, Rocky. I'm not a big talker. But some things need to be said. When Caufield had this here belt and I went after it, it wasn't because I really wanted it. It was just to prove that I could take what he had. I proved that. The belt itself didn't mean much to me. Legends? Old men who can't get it done in the ring anymore. But I see things a bit different now, after talking with Mr. Tyler this past week. He made me realize what an honor wearing this belt really is. To be called the Legends Champion. Because other than the two men in the ring here with me, there's one else on this whole brand worthy of being called a Legend. Faith used to be a legend, but he's so far past his prime that he can't even remember those days. Caufield? What he has ever done in his whole career besides bleed a lot? Frehley was a fluke World champion. Same with Enygma. Runaway Train is past it. Just a bunch of has-been's and never-will-be's... He holds up a hand to get Bloodstone to stop. Phil Vibert: Now I'm going to have to stop you right there, Johnny. Before you say anything else you shouldn't. You and I both know that legendary status isn't just earned based on title reigns. Bloodstone: If you say so, Vibert. Phil Vibert: But if you want to think that there's no one in the back worthy of the status of legend who can challenge you for that belt, I may have someone I'd like to introduce you to. A man who has wrestled all over the globe, and who done more for this business through his career than all three of you combined. A true legend. Bloodstone: More like another has-been. Let's see who you dug up... Phil Vibert: You want to prove something tonight, Bloodstone, you can prove it against Pistol Pete Hall. The two men start with some nasty brawling and the match doesn't really let up. They work pretty stiff, too. Diaz takes the win after he blocks Laramee's attempt at a Switchblade Slam, following a Monster Mash clothesline with a Ray Gun piledriver. Its enough to get the pin. Phil Vibert: Alright... Eric Tyler: Look, I'm not too impressed about you bringing Hall in. I would have preferred to be consulted first. Phil Vibert: Consulted? Why would I consult you first? Eric Tyler: Because I'm the General Manager of the brand. Phil Vibert: And I have the same powers. Eric Tyler: So you say... Phil Vibert: So says my contract. Look, I was brought in by the Board of Directors for a specific. To do a specific job. And just because you were named GM, I'm not about to give up on doing that job. Eric Tyler: And I was brought on as GM so that you don't screw up in doing that job. Mr. Eisen does not want to trying to rebuild DaVE here on the Legends brand? Phil Vibert: Rebuild DaVE? What the hell are you talking about? Eric Tyler: Don't think you're being all sneaky, Phil. Its pretty obvious? Phil Vibert: Obvious how? I'm not doing it, Eric. Eric Tyler: You brought in Caufield and me, then you brought in The New Wave... Phil Vibert: No, I brought in your and Eric, then I brought in Finch. I had nothing to do with Barrowman. Eric Tyler: Right... And now you're bringing in Hall... Phil Vibert: Has has nothing to do with DaVE. Never did. You know that. Eric Tyler: Then why bring him in, Phil? Phil Vibert: Are dense? You never used to be this stupid, Eric. I brought in Hall because he's a helluva wrestler. I was brought in to the Supreme Wrestling Federation to bring back the wrestling. Hence, signing a very good wrestler made sense. I don't know how else to explain this to you. Eric Tyler: I don't appreciate your tone, Phil. Phil Vibert: Would it help you understand if I drew some pictures, perhaps. Eric Tyler: Save your sarcasm for the broadcasts, Phil. Its about all you offer at this point. Just know that I'll have my eye on you. I'm not going to let you ruin this brand any more than you already have. I'm not going to let you corrupt it further. Phil Vibert: You know what? I don't give a d*mn.. And while we're discussing things, Eric, I know what you're trying to do by putting Faith in matches against guys like Texas Pete. Eric Tyler: You mean you know that I'm trying to allow our "fighting champion" to prove himself by defending the belt regularly? Phil Vibert: Or try to wear him down by making him defend the belt every week. Its not going to happen, Eric. Faith is stronger than that. I really don't understand why Eisen has this obsession with having to control who holds the belts... Just let the best man hold the belt and he'll lose it when someone is better. Eric Tyler: That will be all, Phil. You can go back to your cage... I mean booth... With a shake of his head, Vibert leaves Tyler in his office. Skye tries a couple of high-flying attacks right off the bell and finds himself tossed hard to the mat in response. The man formerly known as "Big Cat" lives up to the name as he toys with Skye for several minutes, like a really big housecat toying with a green-and-blue haired mouse. The match could have been over in under a minute if James chose it, but on the orders of Emma Chase, he punishes Skye. A Big Cat Pounce and James finally decides to end the match. I'm sorry, but facing kids like this is not a challenge at all for my client. Its rather pointless. It proves nothing, as we already know that Brandon James is a top competitor in the SWF. In all of the wrestling world, really. You see, my client employs me as his representative to make sure his best interests are looked after. And these kind of matches are not in his best interest! Losing is not possible, but what if he suffers some kind of freak injury? What would be the point of that? Now as Brandon's agent... Emma Chase: It's nice to see you dream big, Ms. Silver. But you have a long way to go if you want to try to emulate me. Sara Silver: Don't be so sure. Emma Chase: Its easy to be sure, Ms. Silver. Because any sports agent is only as important as the clients they represent. And I represent Brandon here, the premier talent in the entire Supreme Wrestling Federation. In the entire wrestling world. And from the look of things... it looks like you don't have any clients at all... Sara Silver: You'll meet my clients soon enough. The Silverbacks are coming. And the entire SWF will learn to fear them. So consider this fair warning. Emma Chase: Noted, Ms. Silver. Now if you don't mind... Sara Silver: Not at all, Emma. Go right back to boring the crowd... This brings a roar from the crowd as Silver departs. The crowd loves it. Hall turns the early going into a brawl, grabbing the crowd with his Pistol Dance shuffling combination of punches. Realizing he's in danger of being overpowers and battered, Bloodstone slows things down with some holds. Several times, Pistol Pete powers out only for Bloodstone to quickly transition into something else. Hall fights his way out, hits Bloodstone with a heavy short-arm lariat, followed up by a slam, then then his trademark Triplet Elbow Drops. Bloodstone kicks out of the pin attempt, then makes his own comeback. He slows the match down once again and takes control. Pete seems to be wearing down, the big man fighting with less and less. He explodes out of a shoulder hold and nails the champion with a big slam. The challenger drops his elbow pad, signaling that he's going for his trademark Pistol Whip Lariat. Bloodstone slides under it, however, and comes back with a big knee. He quickly slips on his Bloodstone Variation. Pete makes it to the ropes, forcing a break. When the ref isn't looking, Bloodstone nails the big cowboy with a kick to the back of the head. He drags him to the middle of the ring and puts the camel clutch on again, getting the submission this time. Bloodstone Wins at 13:03 via Submission Grade: A

Texas Pete vs Christian Faith SWF Supreme Championship Match Another solid match, but one that pales in comparison a bit to the previous match. Its clear from the onset that Faith holds the advantage - Pete isn't a better wrestler, and while he's bigger, he can't really overpower Faith. What keeps the match interesting is good old fashioned cheating. Texas Pete uses every dirty trick int he book, and Kristen Pearce does her part on the outside to provide as much of a distraction as possible. Its not enough, though. After it seems like the champion is wearing down and Pete hits the Lone Star Drop powerbomb, Faith powers out of the pin attempt and fights back with a fury. A series of Machine Gun Faith Hammers puts Pete down. A leg drop, an elbow drop, then a stalling fist drop batter the big Texan. The champion puts the big man in his Stalling Atomic Drop set up, then lands the Leap of Faith to get the pin. Pearce tries to slide into the ring to interrupt the pin but is too late. That was your third title defense in as many weeks... Do you think you can keep up with that kind of pace? Christian Faith: Well, you know, Ana, I'll do whatever it takes. I've come to kinda like this here belt. Its kinda pretty and shiny and it feels pretty good when I strap it around my waist. So I don't think I'm going to be giving it up any time soon. Ana Garcia: You don't think your age will be a factor? Christian Faith: That's the big question, isn't it? It seems like there's a couple folks int the back who don't much like me having this belt. Seems they think that if they make me defend it often enough, I'll wear down. Being old and all. But you know what, Christian Faith is like a fine wine... Every year, I just get a bit d*mned better. And I'm not about to wear out or lose the fire, because I HAVE FAITH!!! The crowd roars it back at the champion. It takes a moment for the crowd to quiet down again. Ana Garcia: You are set to face Vengeance next week at Welcome to the June 2008. What are you thoughts on facing The Harbinger again? Christian Faith: Well Vengeance and I have a bit of history, don't we. I still owe him one for what he did to me last year. I haven't forgotten and I sure haven't forgiven... Faith trails off as someone has appeared through the Supreme Gate and is standing on the stage, staring down at the ring. Its Vengeance. Ana Garcia screams and flees, throwing the microphone in the generation direction of the charging monster. Faith stands his ground. Vengeance climbs into the ring slowly and deliberately. He walks up to the champion and points at the belt that Faith has around his waist. The two men go nose-to-mask and its a long tense moment. Just as it seems they might come to blows, SWF security personnel swarm the ring and get between the two men. The opponents continue to stare each other down from across the ring. Grade: A*
Duane Fry: It looks like Vengeance has changed his focus... and that is not a good thing for Christian Faith! Meant to post this up last night, but it was pretty late when I finally got the show posted. just a few notes... -the D- grade between Akima Brave and Bart Biggz was pretty disappointing. Both have decent midcard popularity and momentum. No poor chem notes. Just a really poor match. Might have to be careful with the Sky Club Division stuff. -I was kinda trying to avoid bringing my trainers onto the main TV shows for this reason... Pistol Pete was intended to be a one-time deal, or at most an occassional thing. That A match made me rethink things a bit... His skills are top notch, and even his entertainment skills aren't bad, plus that match jumped him from C- to C popularity across the US. Even better, I just discovered he has good tag chemistry with someone I can team him up with. I've already said that the rosters need to be balanced a bit, so... Hall isn't moving to Legends full-time as of right now, but he's going to appear with a bit more frequency. Same with Flash. -that show felt short for 120 minutes. Even the write-ups felt like they were abnormally quick. I think I started upping match lengths a bit across the board when I went to the extra 30 minutes - that was part of why I made the show longer in the first place. But I didn't scale back when I dropped back to 2 hours. Regardless, I'm going back to 2 1/2 hours for moment for both main shows. -in case anyone was wondering, Sara Silver's Silverbacks are a new signing coming in. I've got a couple of debuts coming in the next month or so, including Payne at the PPV. Oh, and I"ll try to a Random Thoughts segment ready for tonight.

Oh I don't know. I've only just started reading Diaries (can hardly expect people to read mine if I don't read others) but I quite liked the length. You've already got a ton of characters bouncing around. You might be in danger of giving us (by which I mean me) too much to keep track of. :) I liked the final segment. I got an MMA vibe from it, where the winner gets to do a little interview, while trying to catch his breath. I'm not sure if it's a common thing that you do, but I liked it. Lots of in-ring interview segments though. I know they score well in-game, but couldn't you set a few of them in the showers or a haunted amusement park or something? P.S. Cheers for the half-sized picture idea. Totally stole that from you.

So as I introduce new workers, I'm probably going to look at phasing some guys out. Whether that means they actually get fired, head into development, or maybe just job on the B show. The problem is that I mean it when I say that no one is without their uses. I try to mix up the angles, but tend to get back into habits. I've tried to come up with some unique settings in the arena, but it seems like everything has been done, either in real wrestling (funny thing to call it...) or in another diary. As for out-of-arena segments for the shows, I'm not a fan. I've done one so far and have no plans to do more anytime soon. They can really work in some diaries, but everything I tend to come up with in that regard just feels cheesy... I have nightmare visions of vignettes where Christian Faith has amnesia and is wandering through Cleveland... I'll run with a good idea if I have one (or am handed one) but the intent is to stick with in-arena stuff, primarily. Its not the angle ratings that worry me, not if you're using over workers in the SWF. Should have a Random Thoughts segment up in a short while.

Random thought of the day... can a show called "Legends" function without having a few legitimate legends? "You boys serious 'bout this?" I rubbed my eyes, reflecting on how refreshing it was to be called "boy" instead of "kid". I let it slide. That was just the way that Pete Hall talked. Vibert was sitting in the office with me, and he clearly didn't take any offense to being referred to as "boy". "Absolutely," Vibert assured the big man. "Wasn't really what I had in mind when I signed that contract," Hall mused. "We realize that," I admitted. "Plans... change..." When Hall didn't say anything, I continued, "We realize this isn't what you signed up for, and we appreciate that. But we think we have an opportunity here, and we are loathe to pass that up." "Loathe," Pete repeated with a smile. "And as we've already said, we're willing to be flexible. If the travel schedule gets to be too much, let us know. We'll work something out," I promised. "We're just trying to make the best out of what happened here." That was entirely true. The match that Hall had against Johnny Bloodstone on SWF Legends a few days ago had been simply awesome. The fans had taken to Pistol Pete much better than we had anticipated, as well. For a guy who had spent much of his career in Japan, the American fans either recognized or more likely immediately liked the big man. Of course, having a simple gimmick like "tough, gruff big cowboy" makes things easy in that regard. And realistic, as that isn't really so much a gimmick for Hall as just who he is. Hall mused on this. It felt like a game, as it seemed unlikely he'd turn it down. But he said, "Well, a lighter schedule is part of the reason I left the island. Then again, you boys do have a good point. And being on the road could be fun. I miss those days." "So you'll do it?" I asked, sounding a bit too eager. A slow nod from the big cowboy. He confirmed, "I'll do it." Vibert and I smiled at each other. I wouldn't have blamed Hall if he had said no. He has signed up with the SWF to play a very specific role - trainer. He would mainly work with RIPW, helping to develop the the youngsters into SWF-caliber workers. The expectation was that he would do quite a bit of stuff with the Generation Supreme show, which was easy enough - it was taped at the Supreme Arena. No travel. Easy schedule. No pressure. Just one surprise TV appearance later, and we're changing the whole deal on him. But Richard Eisen would never forgive us if we didn't at least try to capitalize on an opportunity. "So I gotta ask," Vibert said with a smile. "Why exactly did you leave Japan? I mean, Golden Canvas had to want to keep you. The fans loved you, so I doubt money was the issue. I know its really none of my business, Pete, but I'm just d*mned curious." Hall smirked at Vibert. He replied, "It was a d*mned woman!" "It usually is," Vibert answered in a manner that encouraged Pete to continue with the story. Hall shrugged, and explained, "A pretty little thing I met about a year ago. She was there teaching English. Young enough to be my daughter, really, which doesn't impress my daughters too much. She moved back here to New York in February and I missed her something fierce. So yeah, Golden Canvas made me a really fair offer. Plus the money I was making from some endorsements. Moving back here cost me a ton, really." "She worth it?" I asked. "Jury's still out," Hall answered. "Gonna make an honest woman of her here soon enough. Figure she'll make a fine ex-wife number three." We had a good laugh at that. Vibert and Hall began swapping war stories about Japan, and especially about the Japanese fans. Not that Vibert had ever actually worked in japan, but he had visited a few times as he set up some cross-promotion stuff for DaVE, signed Konumasu, and apparently a couple of times with Bryan Holmes. The stories were entertaining, but I soon found myself yawning as I sipped on my coffee. I was exhausted. I had worked yesterday, then stopped by Vibert's condo. He wanted to show me a couple of his favorite matches from the early days of DaVE. It ended up being a marathon viewing session that lasted until well past 2am. Somehow Vibert still looked fresh and rested, yet I was a wreck. The man worked long hours, had a wife and two kids, traveled, and yet he seemed to handle it far better than I did, despite being a decade and a half older. I was jealous. Well, not about the wife and kids part, though it was a really nice family. I found myself musing on Pete's situation. Not that Golden Canvas Grappling were not a very big company anymore, but they were still a respected and important one. He had left a great position with them for a woman. Perhaps she would be the love of Pete's life, or maybe she would be just another doomed relationship. Yet he had taken the risk. It wasn't just the money from GCG he had left on the table, but the sponsorships that working in Japan brings, which can be very lucrative. Would he regret that choice? I got the feeling that Pete Hall wasn't the kind of man to worry about burned bridges. Life keeps on trucking, whether you make the right decisions or the wrong ones. Could I do that? Its not like I'm living my dream with what I'm doing here at Supreme, but I do love it. Would I sacrifice this all for the love of a good woman? No, I don't' think I would. Is it because I'm too selfish? Or maybe because I haven't met the "right" woman yet, if there is even such a thing? I've really enjoyed the time I've spent with Amanda Eisen so far, but I would walk away from that without hesitation if it came down to it. Does that make me cold-hearted? Does it mean that its really not meant to work out? Do I care at this point? Its been more than a week now since I saw Amanda, and while we have traded a few emails and instant messages, its been sporadic. I'd like to be able to spend some time with her, but its not exactly burning a hole in my soul that I can't. If I was smart about things, I should be trying to hook the girl and marry her - I doubt there's any better way to ensure that you will always have a role in this business than marrying into the Eisen clan. Does Pistol Pete know something I don't? Likely. He probably knows a lot of things that I don't know. But I guess I have to work through things and make own mistakes. We all do. As for Pete's specific role on SWF Legends, we have yet to determine that. If the fans continue to take to him, it might become a prominent role. Or he might stay as the occasional guy that we figured when decided to put him on the show against Bloodstone. The interesting thing about Hall is that he's more of a legend within the business than to the fans. He got hot in the 1980s as a big man with rare athleticism and all around skill, but he retired in 1992 at just 33 years old with a knee injury. For more than a decade, he continued to work in the business as a road agent and trainer, and there were few better. Hall was a great teacher. He help nurture so much talent. So while Hall doesn't have a long list of accolades like some legends, but he's done as much in his own way as someone like Christian Faith or Eric Tyler. The typical fan might not realize how much Hall has done, but much of the roster does. And maybe that's as important the more obvious kind of legend.
Well, I dig Pistol Pete - but that's probably fairly obvious. He's one of the great unsung heavy lifters of the Cornellverse.
Seems to be a relatively forgotten guy. Really athletic for a big man and terrific Performance skills. Very underrated. His entertainment skills aren't even that bad. I really had no more intent for him than a trainer with RIPW. Then I brought him up to work a few matches on Generation Supreme. Now he might become a regular on Legends. I mean, he fits the intent of the show/brand perfectly. Maybe I'll job Texas Pete to him repeatedly just to make TigerKinney and the other Texas Pete haters happy....

With great action on display once again, the show is quickly turning into must-see for every wrestling fan. Included in the evenings action were Nevada Nuclear and Rocky Golden, each man taking a win in single's action. The order of the night, however, was tag team action. More new teams made their debuts - as well as some veteran teams making their SWF bows. SWF World Tag Team champions Valiant & Giedroyc were on the card in a non-title three-way tag match. The champions were victorious, as were up-and-coming duo of Sean Deeley and Joss Thompson, as Badd Kompany notched another win. As for the main event... It was pretty solid. Just like last week, you had to see it to believe it.

Partial Recap of Matches from SWF Generation Supreme Last Chance d. SWF.com: Supreme TV in Mexico!
Sunday, Week 1, August 2008 Continuing to prove that SWF.com is your primary source for all Supreme Wrestling Federation related the news, the website officially has breaking news to break. SWF.com can confirm that officials from the Supreme Wrestling Federation have agreed a deal with TV-Mex to broadcast SWF Supreme TV on the network. Starting in September, the Supreme Wrestling Federation's flagship weekly show will be shown Tuesday in the late evening slot. The deal is considered a coup for the American promotion, as none of Mexico's four professional wrestling promotions have a TV deal with a network the size of TV-Mex. The mainstream network is amongst the biggest in the nation. With several Mexican stars on the SWF roster, it is expected that the show will do well. The Supreme Wrestling Federation continues to branch out in an effort to reach wrestling fans around the globe. With Supreme TV now being shown in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan, the focus of the SWF will be on extending the viewership of the second A show, SWF Legends. The SWF also agreed an extension with the CBN network to extent the current runs of both SWF Supreme TV and Generation Supreme on the network. Supreme TV has generated strong ratings of late, while Generation Supreme has surprised many who expected a late night B show to struggle for viewers. Once again proving that fans of the Supreme Wrestling Federation don't have to go anywhere for the latest and breaking news on their favorite wrestling promotion, SWF.com delivers! Ouch to the D- between Akima and Bart! A strange one there, perhaps it just didn't really fit in with your product? I still really enjoy this diary buddy, like I just said on NoNeck's this diary is great with characterisations, I feel like I know the wrestlers attitude and personalities which is amazing when you think they are fictional! Great work buddy. And still really, really enjoying the non-show stuff, they are what pushes this diary above 99.9% of the diaries on here. Hopefully I can become a bit more of a regular over the next few weeks matey, because I really do enjoy this.

Its the SWF, so I figured trying to make the matches the focus wouldn't make sense, plus I could never do things as well as guys like TigerKinney in that regard. So its been about the characters and stories. Its great to hear that its enjoyed. As for that Akima Brave-Bart Biggz match, I just don't know. I'm going to have to pay attention to the Sky Club Division matches a bit closer. I don't think I used a specialty match for it, but that could explain it if it was high-spot based and that doesn't fit in with the product...? A D- I could see if it was two lower card guys, but both Biggz and Brave are solidly midcarders based on popularity. As well.

Duds happen, though. I know in my game that I've had inexplicable low - and high - ratings that were well outside the average for workers of the calibre present in the match. You could consider re-running it as a dark match or on the B show to see if it was a fluke. You might also find that it's a personality thing - maybe one of them is unhappy with there push/use, or doesn't like going against a worker of their opponent's style/size... Or maybe duds happen sometimes... :p

Akima Brave has had a few D- and even an E+, but always with bottom-level workers involved. I will say that the Biggz-Toma match for the coming PPV has me a bit worried, especially since Toma is well behind Brave in terms of skills. Putting the Shooting Star belt on him instead of Brave was one of the many many mistakes I've made. I've said a few times that match and show ratings don't matter that much in this diary. I'm really only concerned with maintaining the current size of the promotion. Still, I hate getting a B- match when I was figuring on a B+, and get annoyed when a show I figured could push for an A* grade gets a weak B+. Can't help it. I really shouldn't complain at all about grades - its been a long time since I even had a B grade show, other than on my B show. Getting the next show ready as I type this. Should have the preview posted tonight. The show itself sometime this weekend. Looking forward to getting to the Welcome to the Jungle 2008 pay per view.

The Fry Report Preview
Every week on The Fry Report podcast will provide the latest information on everything Supreme. News, rumors, and interviews, all brought to you by the incomparable Duane Fry. Preview for podcast available Monday, Week 2, August 2008 "With just days left before SWF Welcome to the Jungle 2008, Supreme TV is live tomorrow night from Wisconsin Gardens. Tickets have been sold out for weeks. This one is going to be a can't-miss!" "The big match this week is Randy Bumfhole taking on Jack Bruce, with a chance to face Rich Money for the SWF World Heavyweight championship at Welcome to the Jungle on the line. Neither man could get past Remo, so they will face each other to determine the #1 Contender. This one should be a great match." "Speaking of the champion, Rich Money and Remo have decided to "welcome" The New Wave to the Supreme brand by challenging Guide and Scout. That match will take place this week. Will one of the world's most effective tag teams be able to overcome two of the SWF's best and establish themselves as a force immediately? It would be a big moment for Team Gilmore." "Don't ever let anyone tell you that whining doesn't get you anywhere in the Supreme Wrestling Federation. It was announced yesterday that Marc DuBois will be defending his SWF North American championship belt at the pay per view in a Threefold Threat™ match. The first participant will be Darryl Devine, after the Angsty Young Man apparently complained quite a bit to Richard Eisen that he deserved such a chance. Not that Devine has accomplished much since he joined the Supreme brand, but whining can get you ahead in life... The third participant will be decided on Supreme TV, with Zimmy Bumfhole facing Sean Deeley and Antonio Marquez in - you guessed it - a Threefold Threat™ match. This one should be fantastic." "Will Adrian Garcia let us know a bit more about who or what Payne is? About just what "Judgment Day" means? The man has been cryptic so far, speaking in tongues and riddles. This has been a very common question from fans in the past few weeks, and I honestly don't know any more than you folks do. Whatever it is, I get the feeling it can't be good." "Its another big night on Supreme TV. A night you can't afford to miss! I promise - it'll be a barn-stormer!" Antonio Marquez vs Sean Deeley vs Zimmy Bumfhole I really like all the guys in this matchup but Zimmy is on another level Gino Montero vs Joss Thompson vs Chris Morrisette Same as above, Morrisette has the Main Event credentials that the others just don't Angry Gilmore vs Ace Newton vs Art Reed Gilmore is on a well-deserved push, I expect it to continue here Marc DuBois + The Heartbreakers (Steven Parker + Jay Chord) vs High Concept + Jacob Jett DuBois is potentially one of my favourite characters in the C-Verse, and the way you've made him wear his title all the times makes me love him all the more Robbie & Swoop vs Sin Inc I'd like to say Robbie and Swoop but I think the experience edge will come into play here. The Almighty Dollar vs The New Wave Tough choice but Rich is the World Champion, can't see him losing Jack Bruce vs Randy Bumfhole - #1 Contender Match Although Bruce will probably win, I'd like to see Bumfhole get a title shot

Antonio Marquez vs Sean Deeley vs Zimmy Bumfhole Zimmy's that more established than the other two. Gino Montero vs Joss Thompson vs Chris Morrisette Same case as above Angry Gilmore vs Ace Newton vs Art Reed And here as well Marc DuBois + The Heartbreakers (Steven Parker + Jay Chord) vs High Concept + Jacob Jett I'd give the heel trio the edge in this one, plus the trio opposite them have been pretty much portayed as goofy jobbers to the stars in this diary. Robbie & Swoop vs Sin Inc Sin Inc are the more experienced duo and will go over. The Almighty Dollar vs The New Wave I personally would have held off on this match for a few weeks and given the New Wave a win streak over some lower calibre teams, as I can't see you giving them the debut win over two of your most over main eventers. The loss will be a tainted one though, so they don't completely look like a couple of numpties on their switch to the supreme brand. Jack Bruce vs Randy Bumfhole Randy wins, following interference from the Almighty Dollar, this is because Rich Money see's Jack Bruce as a more serious threat for his title.
