SWF: Generation Supreme

Recommended Posts

I really enjoyed the PPV, I though the Payne debut was totally sports entertainment feel. He comes out during a promo by someone else, match made on the spot, came out perfectly. That’s what I’m enjoying about your diary, while putting your own personal touch, you pass a very close image of what I imagine SWF would be (and its similarities and differences with WWE). Like them using Payne’s popularity due to TCW but not recognizing he was in TCW and those little details you talked about (I noticed the Money finisher steal, although I usually skip a bit through the match descriptions – that’s not a criticism of you, it’s just me and my result-oriented way). Looking forward to the next shows, keep it up ;)

That's what I'm going for in pretty much every story, angle, and introduction. This diary is probably a pretty good choice to to skip the match details. The match write-ups are not a strength for me, unfortunately. Working on it, but they're relatively meh. I try to throw some fun details in there - the Money finish, Dawn the Cheerleader's panties, etc - but stuff gets repetitive beyond that. If you do the skimming thing with diaries like Tiger Kinney or James Casey, you're missing out for sure. Anyway, I should get working on the next show here. Hope to have the preview up before long and the show itself posted sometime on the weekend.

It was the kind of wrestling action you can't afford to miss. If you did miss, check SWF.com as some matches will be available streaming today. Two of the most impressive young tag teams in the SWF, Badd Kompany and Double Deuce, both picked up wins on the night. Pistol Pete Hall continued to build a strong fan following as the veteran overcame confident youngster Nevada Nuclear in a solid match. The main event was another great battle from SWF Supreme Champion Christian Faith, with the veteran putting on another memorable battle against an opponent than surprised every viewer! The Fry Report Preview
Every week on The Fry Report podcast will provide the latest information on everything Supreme. News, rumors, and interviews, all brought to you by the incomparable Duane Fry. Preview for podcast available Monday, Week 3, August 2008 "A great deal happened last week on SWF Welcome to the Jungle 2008... If you missed it, check with your cable carrier for availability of rebroadcasts of the pay per view that will go down as one of the year." "Last week on Supreme TV, legendary tag team The New Wave debuted after moving to the Supreme brand to join Team Gilmore. The duo of Guide and Scout lost to The Almighty Dollar. This week, they will get another shot individually. Scout will face Remo, while Guide will get a shot at the SWF World Heavyweight champion Rich Money. The belt will be on the line, despite Money's earlier insistence that he will not defend his belt on free TV, but only on pay per view. General Manager Richard Eisen put his first down, I'm told, and I don't expect Hard Cash to be too pleased about it." "After they both failed to take the SWF World Heavyweight championship belt from Rich Money at the pay per view, where does that leave Jack Bruce and Randy Bumfhole? Both will be in action on Supreme TV. Will they address their plans from this point on?" "Most expect The New Wave to be named the number one contenders for the SWF World Tag Team championships, currently held by Valiant & Giedroyc. I've heard that Sin Inc's Joe Sexy and John McClean were none too pleased with how they lost to the champions at Welcome to the Jungle. All I can say is that Valiant & Giedroyc's manager Dawn the Cheerleader - and her underwear! - played a prominent role." "The SWF World Tag Team championship belts will be the on the line, as Valiant & Giedroyc defend against up-and-coming duo Paul Huntingdon and John Greed. The pairing works on the Legends brand. The champions will be heavily favored to retain, but in the Supreme Wrestling Federation, you just never know!" "This week features what should be a great technical battle, between Chris Morrisette and Sean Deeley. Though Deeley has primarily featured in the SWF as part of the Badd Kompany tag team, the promising youngster is already one of the best technicians in the entire SWF. He will have plenty to prove when he takes on the experienced and talented Morrisette, however. This is a match where an upset win by Deeley could launch him to stardom in an instant." "Another youngster, Swoop McCarthy, has been given the unenviable task of facing the monster Payne. The masked behemoth made his SWF debut at Welcome to the Jungle, taking a disqualification loss to Chris Morrisette. The monster is dangerous, let there be no doubt. Will the big Aussie be able to slow down Payne?" "Fans, don't miss out. Tune in to C.A.N.N. to see the best wrestling action on offer anywhere in the world. International fans, check your local listings!"
The Fry Report will be available on SWF.com or directly from iTunes.
A special feature for the Fry Report... This might be one of the easiest to predict cards I've put in quite awhile. Most of the matches don't leave a whole lot of doubt. At this point, that doesn't even bother me. Its the nature of Sports Entertainment. The show is more about driving storylines forward. My goal is to have the show posted tonight, but that might be a touch over-ambitious.

The bigpapa part. hah). I've been watching this diary for awhile now and just wanted to let you know that I'm loving what you're doing. I may start putting my predictions up here as I read it enough anyways. ha. Cheers. Great work.

Then I realized it was a good way to get some feedback from the readers indirectly. As I've said a number of times, I expect this is one of the easier diaries to do predictions for if you follow, because I tend to book pretty straight-ahead for the most part.

Bruce manages to control much of the match, but Devine shows a disregard for his own well-being as he throws himself into some impressive spots, including a frog splash to the outside as Thompson and Bruce battle outside the ring. Thompson looks good, and he uses plenty of underhand tactics. Devine nails Thompson with a Devine Dream Drop outside the ring, but obviously can't go for the pin. The Long Island Angel gets the pinfall on Thompson after he hits his New York Minute fame-dropper in the middle of the ring, after he knocks Devine from the ring with a Jack Bruce flurry. Sean Deeley: Dude, that messes everything up! You were supposed to beat Bruce tonight, and I'm going to beat Morrisette and then it was going to be our time. Our time! Now how can it be our time? Joss Thompson: Well, you can still beat Morrisette... Sean Deeley: Well, I'm going to, but its just not going to be the same. Joss Thompson: I'm sorry, I... The Guru: I'm sorry to interrupt, but could we get to this? Joss Thompson: Oh, sorry, Mr. Guru. For sure. The Guru: Its not Mr. Guru. Its either The Guru or just Guru. Sean Deeley: Okay, Mr. Guru. Joss Thompson: So, you used to manage Runaway Train, correct? The Guru: Of course that's correct. Everyone knows that. And everyone knows that I managed him to two SWF World Heavyweight champoinship reigns. Which is why its insulting that you two did not interview me earlier. Sean Deeley: Sorry about that. As for... The Guru: Everyone also knows that Train would not have achieved the heights he did without my assistance. My guidance. My management. That, young men, is all you should need to know about The Guru and what I can do for your careers! Joss Thompson: We obviously appreciate what you did... The Guru: You say that, but its apparent that I've been forgot in this federation. Even Runaway Train has. His former glories as world champion forgotten as he provides silent muscle to that deplorable Eisen child. Did you see that last pay per view? Joss Thompson: Of course, we were there. Sean Deeley: Now back to... The Guru: Of course you were there. You were party to it, the further degradation of the beautiful violence that was once Runaway Train. And how you do not feel ashamed of yourselves, I fail to understand. Joss Thompson: Well, I'm not sure we have anything to be ashamed of... Sean Deeley: We didn't win, of course... The Guru: And that's why you need me. To become winners. As I made Runaway Train a winner. Not simply a winner. A champion. A two-time champion. He could still be challenging the likes of Christian Faith is he had stayed faithful to The Guru. Instead, he released me from my services at the behest of that Eisen kid. And now where is he? I ask you that – now where is he? Joss Thompson: Uh, still in the SWF? Sean Deeley: Look, we just have a couple of questions... The Guru: Questions. Questions. We all have questions. I have questions. Such as what Runaway Train thought when he fired me. Did he really believe that he would be better off without my services? Can a monster be effective without guidance? Will he ever come to his senses and realize what he gave up? What did the Eisen child do to obtain such influence over Train? Oh, I have questions alright. Thompson and Deeley exchanging a look, realizing that they aren't going to get The Guru to answer any questions. Sean Deeley: Well, that should be enough for us, then. Thanks. Joss Thompson: We'll get back to you. As the Badd Kompany duo start to gather up their things, The Guru slumps down in his chair. He has a melancholy look on his normally sneering face. The Guru: I miss Train. Though men display some skill, its the champion Newton and his overtly heelish tactics that draws the crowd in. The Generations champion shows off his awesome athleticism, and he also shows off the number of dirty tricks he has. RK Hayes is standing behind him, while the monster Payne is standing beside him. Both men dwarf the diminutive manager, but it's the masked Payne who is truly frightening. Adrian Garcia: Welcome to the Jungle 2008 was the starting point. Years from now, when the historians look back upon the wide swath of destruction that Payne will cut through the Supreme Wrestling Federation, they will look back upon that day, that moment, as the spot where it began. Everyone who saw it will mark it in their minds as the point where The Fear began. Where they finally understood what Judgment Day is. The diminutive manager allows a moment for this to sink before he continues. Adrian Garcia: Apparently, there are misinformed souls who feel that Payne failed on his debut because he was disqualified. What these fans – and all fans – need to understand about Payne is that victory comes not from what the referee decrees. Victory comes from leaving one's opponent vanquished in the ring, broken and forever fearful of another meeting with Payne. That is true victory. That is the true power of Payne. Do any of you fans truly believe that Chris Morrisette would choose to step into a ring again with this man here? With this monster? No, we all know he would not. And who can blame him? Garcia stops again for a moment, smiling. Adrian Garcia: There is one other question that requires answering. I have been asked which brand of the Supreme Wrestling Federation that Payne will choose to torment. Why, this one, of course. Because the Legends brand already has a monster to torment them. To remind them of their sins and to purify them with pain. With Payne. Grade B+
Peter Michaels: That is one sadistic individual! Jerry Eisen: I like his mask. The two Mexican stars push the pace and press the action to the veteran duo. There is an entertaining sequence in the middle of the match where Enforcer Roberts and Antonio Marquez trade holds in a quick series, with Marquez getting the better of the veteran tactician. Its the high-risk and great quickness of the Diablos that the crowd loves, however. Marquez gets Garcia to tap out with his Champagne Breakfast submission, with Montero keeping Roberts from interfering in the match. Antonio Marquez: See, we're getting things done here in the Supreme Wrestling Federation, but we're not getting any respect. It seems that's how things work around here. How Meester Eisen wants them to work. Gino Montero: And it ain't right, ese. Antonio Marquez: I had a chance to beat Marc DuBois in the Jungle, and Darryl Devine kept that from happening. I was going to take the North American belt and I deserve another shot at it, homes. But I am going to get another chance? Gino Montero: No, ese. Antonio Marquez: No, because Meester Eisen thinks we aren't worthy of being champions. Gino Montero: It ain't right. Antonio Marquez: No, which is why the Supreme Wrestling Federation is going to learn the fear la revolución. Gino Montero: Viva la revolución del diablo! The two stop and stare at the stage at the top of the ramp. Someone has emerged through the Supreme Gate. Do you two have anything worthwhile to say or are just going to complain endlessly? Gino Montero: Look who's talking, ese. Antonio Marquez: Don't you have something sad to talk about, Devine? Something to be emo about? Darryl Devine: Hey! I'm not emo. I'm angsty-filled. There is a difference. Gino Montero: Sure, fren. Darryl Devine: Look, I'm out because we all know its me that deserves another chance at DuBois. Antonio Marquez: And how you figure that, homes? Darryl Devine: Because I'm more talented. And I don't have a little compatriot to watch my back. Antonio Marquez: Its supposed impress us that you can't make any friends, homes? I don't think so. But if you want to prove that you're the better man, step up. I'm ready to any time. Darryl Devine: I already wrestled tonight, stupid. Antonio Marquez: So did I, and I'm ready to go. Step up! Darryl Devine: So your little friend there can interfere? I think not. Part of being self-reliant is putting ones self in the best position to succeed. I'll take you out when I'm ready, Marquez. With that Devine, drops the microphone stomps off the stage. The skillful duo show ever-better teamwork, while The Upper Class duo look out of their depth. Its not quite a squash match, but its not that competitive. The fans don't seem to mind, as they enjoy Valiant and Giedroyc dominating Greed and Huntingdon. The smaller Greed takes something of a nasty beating from a motivated-looking Giedroyc. The Englishman gets the pinfall after the champions hit their Desolation Drop finisher on Greed. Giedroyc looks incensed, and starts to get out of the ring to go after McClean, but Dawn holds him back and tries to calm him down. Valiant: Look, you two can make all the excuses you want. Blame Dawn's underwear or the glare of the lights or whatever you want to blame. It doesn't change the fact that we beat you. You lost. You had a chance at these belts and you failed. Giedroyc: Failed. That makes you losers. John McClean: That's not what your mom called me. Parker and Chord prove willing to do whatever it takes to take control of the match – eye rakes, illegal chokes, and the old favorite low blows – to slow down the Bumfhole. The Remember Tomorrow duo manage to isolate Zimmy and work him over. Parker and Chord keep him isolated, just managing to prevent Zimmy from tagging Randy several times, doing things like distracting the referee to they can illegally choke their opponent. The crowd is worked up into a frenzy by the time that Randy finally gets tagged in and cleans out the ring. This leads to a fast-paced sequence with some quick tag work between both teams, featuring Randy impressively skinning the cat to bounce back into the ring and Zimmy lands a great Bumfhole in One frog splash onto both opponents. Its Zimmy get the pin on Chord after nailing him with another Bumfhole in One. Rich Money: Nice belt, kid. Ace Newton: Oh, hey, Mr. Money. Didn't see you there. What are you doing in this part of the building? Rich Money: Call me Rich, kid. And I'm hiding from a couple of models, actually. Some women need to learn that no means no. Nice match earlier. Ace Newton: Thanks. Rich Money: Some nice friends you have to get you something like that belt. Loyal friends. Ace Newton: Yeah, they're good people. Rich Money: I'm gonna give you a little piece of advice, Ace. Pay attention, because I usually charge people to hear what I have to say. Doesn't matter if its in life or business, loyalty is the one thing should never abuse. Because it is one of the only things you cannot win back, earn back, or buy back once its gone. Loyalty is a delicate thing and you should never - ever - abuse it. Loyalty should be appreciated and even treasured, not taken for granted. You need friends in this business that you can count on. Ace Newton: Like you and Remo? Rich Money: Exactly. Everyone wants to think I use Remo as a bodyguard or something. He's my friend. I respect him more than anyone else in this business. I would go to war for the man without any hesitation at all. That goes both ways. That's what loyalty is about. Ace Newton: Yeah, that's what I want the Four Kings to be - four friends who always have each other's backs. No hesitation. No question. Thanks, champ. Rich Money: No problem, kid. Oh, and I meant what I said a few months ago on Generation Supreme - of all the young guys here in Supreme, I think you have the most potential to be hold my belt some day. Ace Newton: Wow, I don't know what to say... Rich Money: Thanks is the common response at this point. Anyway, we should work together some day. Maybe a three-man tag or something? I'll talk to Remo about it. Ace Newton: That would be awesome. Thanks Rich! Rich Money: I gotta run. Got a match to get ready for and my own belt to worry about. Stay money, Ace. The tag team specialist doesn't look quite as dangerous in solo action, but he doesn't back down at all from the imposing Remo. The pair brawl with malicious intent, but its Remo getting the better of things. Scout attempts to slow things down by tying up Remo and working him over with some holds. It works for a short time, but The Alpha Dog proves capable of simply powering out of nearly everything that Scout can try. The explosive power of Remo is shown to painful effect when he explodes through a nasty Remo Buster spinebuster and nearly gets the pinfall. Scout proves resilient and kicks out, continuing to battle. Remo follows a Hit and Run with The Destroyer and Scout is unable to kick out this time. Remo departs, smiling at Angry Gilmore, Jessie, and Guide as their make their way through the Supreme Gate and down to the ring. The crowd gives the Team Gilmore foursome to a warm reception. Jessie: You all saw what happened last week at the Welcome to the Jungle pay per view. The Alpha Dog thought Angry Gilmore was going to be more easy prey, but that isn't the way it went down. Angry Gilmore: I proved that I can go toe-to-toe with Remo. The man who likes to call himself the Alpha Dog can talk a good game. But he didn't exactly follow through on his promises. That match was mine, if not for a bit of bad luck. I know it. Remo knows it. All you fans know it. I've proven that I'm worthy of a chance at Rich Money's World Heavyweight championship. Jessie: Angry wasn't the only member of Team Gilmore who proved something at Welcome to the Jungle. Guide and Scout proved that they deserve a shot at the SWF World Tag Team champions, Valiant & Giedroyc. Guide: We're ready! Scout: Our time! Jessie: Now, some fans apparently feel that last week here on Supreme TV, The New Wave should have turned down the challenge from Remo and Rich Money, to take an easier match. That isn't how Guide and Scout work. The New Wave has a simple creed - no fear. Scout: No fear! Guide: Just do it! Jessie: No fear. Just do it. Simple rules. The New Wave, and Team Gilmore as a whole, do not back down from a challenge. We do not choose the easier road for the sake of it being easier. That's why Guide and Scout accepted the challenge from Rich Money and Remo last week. That's why they accepted the individual challenge this week. Angry Gilmore: Do you believe in “No fear”, Money? I don't think you do. I think you do have fears, and I'm here to exploit them. Whenever you're ready, Money. The confident youngster grows ever-more confident as the match goes on, as he realizes that he is capable of hanging with the veteran Morrisette. The match features some impressive technical grappling, but moves at a quick pace. The two men trade holds and counters, then brawl, then go back to the technical grappling. The crowd is hot throughout and Deeley looks a legitimate threat to the star. Morrisette looks like he's in trouble when Deeley hits a nasty lariat, following it up with a series of suplexes, and then locks in his Shooter Bar seated stretch arm bar. The veteran breaks the hold by getting to the ropes, but Deeley soon manages to lock it in again. This time it takes everything Morrisette has to break the hold. Determined to finish his opponent off, Deeley lands another series of rolling suplexes, but finds his final one blocked repeatedly. Morrisette then counters with his own Fisherman's Trap suplex, then rolls into a quick pin. Deeley kicks out right as referee Jay Fair hits three, and he looks upset when Morrisette is declared the winner. No navigator to find my way home, unladen, empty and turned to stone. A soul intention, that's learning to fly. Condition grounded but determined to try. Dani Nevada: You know what, you can do this yourself. Stupid jerk. The interviewer hands Jack the microphone and walks off, shaking her head and muttering about Bruce being a waste of time and skin. The Long Island Angel doesn't miss a beat, as he just keeps going. Jack Bruce: Above the planet on a wing and a prayer, my brother Haley, a vapour trail in the empty air. Across the clouds I see my shadow fly out of the corner of my watering eye. A dream unthreatened by the morning light could blow this soul right through the roof of the night. There's no sensation to compare with this, suspended animation, a state of bliss. Bruce finishes, letting that hang in the air as if he's just said something deep and meaningful... and comprehensible. Jack Bruce: What that means, Money, is that the Long Island Angel is not about to give up on getting his belt back. You took something for me, and I'm going to take it back. No kids to get in the way this time, Money. Me and you. One on one. I don't care when or where. You just name the place, Money, and its going to be showtime! Grade: A*
Jerry Eisen: The man has a way with words! Peter Michaels: Sure! Not that they make any sense, but a way with words. Money is up for a brawl, however, and he willingly goes toe-to-toe with Guide. Its evenly-matched only a few minutes, however, as Money breaks out his dirty tricks to take advantage and take control. Guide battles back, but a quick chop to his throat when the referee isn't looking slows him down again. The middle portion of the match is all Money, as he wears his challenger down. He scores two near-falls, and he mugs to the crowd. He seems to have the match all but won, and he chooses to continue work Guide over instead of going for the pin and the likely victory. Guide is busted open when the match goes outside the ring and Money drives his head into the ring post viciously. Guide seems dazed and nearly unable to defend himself by the time the match is back in the ring, and the ref seems close to stopping it. Everything changes when Jack Bruce suddenly appears through the Supreme Gate, generating a massive reaction from the crowd. The former champion strolls down to ringside but makes no move to interfere. Money is wary, watching The Long Island Angel. The stare down gives Guide time to pull himself together, and he mounts a bit of offense. Money turns things back in his favor before Guide counters into the Danger Ahead face plant made famous by his partner, and the surprise move comes within inches of getting the three count before the champion kicks out. Money is all business now, stunning Guide with his Money Shaker uppercut. The bloodied tag team specialist is put down again a big Money in the Bank German suplex. Money climbs up to the top rope, and stares down Bruce for a long moment before he lands on his challenger with the Dollars From Heaven splash. Never taking his eyes off of Bruce, Money pins Guide and gets the three count. Rich Money Wins at 14:33 via Pinfall Grade: A Rich Money + Jack Bruce In-Ring Confrontation After the match finishes, the ringside official hands Rich Money his SWF World Heavyweight championship belt through the ropes. The referee tends to the bloodied Guide, with Scout coming down to ringside to help his partner to the back. Money slowly moves around the ring, holding up his expensive-looking version of the heavyweight title. He constantly has an eye on The Long Island Angel. Bruce makes no move to get into the ring, or even grab a microphone. He simply stands at the base of the ramp, his eyes following every move that Money makes. His belt over his shoulder, Money finally stops posing and invites Bruce into the ring. Bruce doesn't move, but simply stands and stares silently. Money goes so far as sitting on the rope and holding them open for the former champion. Bruce declines the offer without a word. Laughing, Money leans on the ropes and again invites Bruce. Still no response. Finally, Money lays down his belt in the middle of the ring. He goes and sits atop the top turnbuckle on the back side of the ring and gestures for Bruce to try to come into the ring and take the belt. There is not so much as a shake of the head from Jack Bruce. He finally simply turns and walks away, leaving the bemused champion in the ring.
Yeah, I'm not going to lie. I marked out for The Neptune Twins.
Awesome. That segment was pretty fun to write. And those two aren't about to disappear. I've been waiting a bit to debut them at the right time. A few weeks ago on a "Moments with Money", I dropped the lightest of hints, with Money saying he got over Emma with a couple of Swedish models. Which just goes to show that some of the stuff that gets put into those angles is put in there for a reason.... Well, if I didn't say a couple of shows ago that I wouldn't complain about grades anymore, I might complain about a B+ with 5 of the last 6 segments grading out at least A. Ah well, a B+ show is hardly horrible. I just saw the nice run through the end of the show and started having visions of my first A* TV show... then boom, its a B+. My guess is that that the Morrisette-Deeley match was a stronger A than the Guide-Money match and that hurt the overall grade for the show. Really didn't foresee Morrisette-Deeley pulling an A grade there, to be honest. Also, I've become aware of late that my apaprently has a recognized "style" due to the format of my shows. Stuff like using quotes for separation, smaller pics, music links, etc. Its pretty cool to know that people like the presentation to that extent. Not shocking - I did get the Best Presentation in the Diary of the Year awards (thanks again everyone!). I just want to say that I claim no originality in the layout and format I use. So anyone who wants to use a style thats similar or even identical is free to do so. Just be aware of one thing - when others improve upon it, I'm not going to hesititate to latch onto those improvements!

The Fry Report Preview
Every week on The Fry Report podcast will provide the latest information on everything Supreme. News, rumors, and interviews, all brought to you by the incomparable Duane Fry. Preview for podcast available Wednesday, Week 3, August 2008 "We're in for a big show this week on SWF Legends. You can don't miss out on some of the best wrestling action you can find anywhere!" "There is certain to be some fallout this week from the SWF Welcome to the Jungle pay per view. I can't seem to get a straight answer on how Christian Faith is doing after the vicious powerbomb through the timekeepers table he was given by Vengeance at the pay per view. I have heard reports that the Supreme champion's back is so hurt he may have to retire. I've also heard he's fine and he's irate. Given that he's scheduled to wrestle on Legends this week, I expect he's going to be okay. The 42-year old is likely to want to get back at The Harbinger, though. Faith's opponent for Legends has not been announced, though you can bet General Manager Eric Tyler has a surprise in store. The GM has not exactly been subtle in his approach of forcing the veteran to defend his belt every week, in hopes of wearing Faith down. I have plenty to say on this topic!" "Christian Faith is not the only man who will want words - or more - with Vengeance. Steve Frehley is said to be raring to get his hands on The Harbinger. The Dark Destroyer has a vendetta against the big man over what Vengeance did to Frehley's close friend Ray Diaz last week on Legends." "Speaking of Diaz, he's going to be okay. He managed to face Rocky Golden at the pay per view, even after what The Harbinger did to him. The tough customer won himself a lot of fans for that, even though he lost to The Golden Child." "There are expected to be several debuts this week on SWF Legends. Veteran Steve Flash will have the unenviable task of taking on Vengeance. Flash has won some fans in the Supreme Wrestling Federation with his impressive work on the SWF Generation Supreme show. Also debuting this week is new tag team Strong Machine, the duo of Erik Strong and newcomer CL Machine. They will take on the The Samoan Wildboyz, who will be keen to get a chance at the Sky Club Division Tag Team championships." "Does Eric Tyler have another surprise in store for us? My sources tell me he does. The GM of the Legends brand has taken to his new role and is apparently determined to keep Phil Vibert from doing whatever it is he thinks Phill Vibert is trying to do. What's the surprise going to be? Can he possibly the top the debut of Acid last week? You'll have to tune in to find out!" Tonight, its going to be a barn-burner, so don't miss out. SWF Legends, only on CBA!"
The Fry Report will be available on SWF.com or directly from iTunes.
An extra special feature for the Fry Report...
I too loved the Neptune segment. Very wacky. Very fun. Gino Montero is also pretty cool, ese. Anyone who talks like a gimmick is a-okay in my book.
Thanks. The Neptune twins should be a fun addition. I'm slowly trying to differentiate the brands and shows. The Supreme brand and Supreme TV will be the more entertainment based, while Legends will be a bit more mature and wrestling based. As for Montero, I was struggling to come up with a good idea for him and Marquez that didn't just feel like a rip off of Eddie Guerrero's "lie, cheat, and steal" gimmick. I figured the Mexican revolutionaries who feel oppressed by Eisen was pretty good. Its an approach that should have some legs and will carry both guys for awhile. Wasn't sure about going with the stereotypical speech or how it would come across, but I think its working....

I just spent the better part of two days reading this and I honestly don't know if I ever wanna try to play as SWF now. :D I like how you are keeping some of the names secret on the Generation Supreme shows. Keep up the great work!
Eric Tyler + Acid Mr. Tyler Says Segment Eric Tyler is standing in the ring to start the show, with the new SWF Shooting Star champion Acid in the ring bedside him. The General Manager for the brand gets a pretty strong negative reaction from the crowd. The GM allows a moment for the heat to die down before he speaks. Eric Tyler: I've been told that Phil Vibert has invited another wrestler to join the Legends brand. I was hopeful this was just a nasty rumor, but it appears to be accurate. As the General Manager of the Legends brand and this TV show, I'm getting kind of tired of Phil Vibert trying to exert his influence and make things here resemble what he wants. Trying to make things resemble what he once built and then ran into the ground. I was made the GM by Mr. Eisen to make sure that doesn't happen. Part of my job is to be watchman here. Tyler has to wait another moment for the crowd to stop booing. Eric Tyler: After Mr. Eisen charged me with this task, I've quickly realized that I would have trouble doing it alone. I used to be able to trust men like Chris Caufield, but its clear he's sided with Vibert. I thought I could count on The New Wave, but they decided to join Gilmore on the other brand. So what am I supposed to do as Vibert surrounds himself with men loyal to him? I have to do so the same. Its just like the Cold War, when the Soviet Union started stockpiling nuclear arms - it made no sense for American not to do the same. And just like the Cold War, its not just about having more nuclear weapons, but bigger and better ones. Tyler stops and smirks for a moment, relishing in the moment. Eric Tyler: Acid here was the first. He is someone I can count on. Someone who will add real quality to the Supreme Wrestling Federation and to this brand. Now, he won a championship belt in his first official match here, so that should tell you something how good this guy is. Acid is going to be the pillar around which the Sky Club Division will be built. He is the first of my watchmen. Tyler pauses once again, letting the idea of "watchmen" sink in for the fans. Eric Tyler: I'd like to think one man is enough. But no matter how talented Acid is, I know what Vibert is capable of. I realized I needed more backup. More men like Acid, who are as trustworthy as they are talented. Men who know what Phil Vibert is capable of. So I went back to men I know from my past. I found two men of upstanding character and quality who can be relied on without exception. If found two more watchmen. Bryan Holmes + JD Morgan There is a strong reaction fro the crowd as Bryan Holmes and JD Morgan appear through the Supreme Gate. The two veterans are wearing business suits and they sneer at the fans, making their way slowly down to the ring. Eric Tyler: I found Bryan Holmes and JD Morgan. There is more heat from the crowd as Holmes and Morgan climb into the ring. Eric Tyler: Now my watchmen here aren't on the Legends brand to be hired muscle. They are here because they are three fantastic wrestlers who add real quality to this brand. The kind of quality that is painfully lacking from many of the wrestlers here. That is something I intend to change while I'm in charge of the Legends brand. These three men here are going to help me... Tyler trails off as familiar music cues up and begins to play. The crowd roars. Christian Faith Christian Faith makes his way out onto the top of the ramp. He stands on the stage in street clothes and carrying his SWF Supreme Championship over his shoulder. It takes a long moment before the reception from the crowd dies down enough for him to speak. Christian Faith: While its really great that your building your little minion army here, Tyler, I think there are more important things you should be doing tonight as the General Manager. Like giving me a match tonight against Vengeance. Eric Tyler: Its Mr. Tyler, Faith. Even for you. No exceptions for old men. Now, while I would love to accommodate your demand, I simply can't do it. Christian Faith: You mean you don't do it. Eric Tyler: No, I mean what I said. I can't. Vengeance is already scheduled in a match tonight. And so are you. You've been around long enough, so I'm sure you know that the Supreme Wrestling Federation does have a policy against having a wrestler wrestle two matches in one night. Its not an unbreakable rule, but I'm inclined to break it in this case. Christian Faith: Wait, I'm scheduled tonight? Against who? Eric Tyler: Why, the one and only Bryan Holmes. And I that pretty belt of yours will be the line - did I forget to mention that? Christian Faith: Mention that? You didn't even bother telling me I was scheduled to wrestle tonight. Eric Tyler: Ah well, now you know. As for Vengeance, we'll see what I can manage for next week. The segment ends with Faith looking annoyed and Tyler grinning with self-satisfaction. Grade: B+
Phil Vibert: Who watches the watchmen? Melanie Florence: How cliché. The crowd never gets into the match that much, but the three cruiserweights put on a solid match. The lucha libre stylings of El Leon are an interesting contrast to Acid's super junior approach. Hernandez and El Leon never seem likely to take down the champion. Acid retains the title after hitting an Acid Rain Bomb and getting the pinfall on El Leon. The crowd is pretty hot, not for the debut of the veteran but for someone to take down The Harbinger. The masked monster is truly hated by the crowd at this point. Flash definitely earns some notice when he goes right after his bigger opponent from the opening bell. They brawl from the start, with Flash attempting to tie up his opponent several times to no avail. Vengeance simply powers through. There are not even any pin attempts through the match, not until after Vengeance follows up his Reaper Leaper clothesline with a Skull Krusher piledriver, getting the pinfall win. As soon as the match is over, there are several SWF referees and security officials who make it to ringside. They are clearly there to ensure that there are no post-match shenanigans this time from Vengeance. It also helps that Flash doesn't stick around after getting pinned. Vengeance seems to be irritated by the small army of officials, but he causes no trouble... this time... Benson is slowly polishing his SWF Sky Club Tag Team belt in a manner that is almost slightly obscene and doesn't react at all. Groucho Bling: Hey, Jacob. Didn't see you come in. And this is... your friend? Jacob Jett: Yeah, its Mainstream. You remember... the guy I've introduced you to nine times now? Groucho Bling: Oh yeah, I sorta remember. How you guys doing? Jacob Jett: Good. Mainstream Hernandez: Yeah, I'm pretty awesome. Goucho Bling: Hey, your not wearing your headband, Jacob. Jacob Jett: Yeah, about that... There is a moment of awkward silence as Bling looks at both Jett and Hernandez and neither will meet his gaze. Groucho Bling: You're leaving us, aren't you? Jacob Jett: Um, yeah. I think its for the best. I mean, my tag team with Mainstream here is going pretty well, and now that you two have the Sky Club tag belts, I just feel like third wheel. I need to do my own thing. To make my own way. Groucho Bling: I knew this day would come. I'm so sad on the inside. Elmo, too. Mainstream Hernandez: Uh, really? He looks pretty preoccupied. Elmo hasn't looked up from his belt. He's holding it close to his face now, seeming to murmur sweet nothings to the belt. Groucho Bling: He has a match tonight, so he's pretty focused on that. Mainstream Hernandez: Uh, sure? Groucho Bling: Elmo. Hey Elmo. Elmo finally looks up. Elmo Benson: Oh hey, Groucho. Groucho Bling: Elmo, Jacob's here. Elmo Benson: Darryl? Darryl's here? Groucho Bling: No, not Darryl. Jacob. You remember Jacob? Elmo Benson: I miss Darryl. Groucho Bling: It's Jacob. He's leaving us. Elmo Benson: Is Darryl coming back? Groucho Bling: No, Groucho. Elmo Benson: I miss Darryl. Shaking his head, Groucho turns back to Jett and Hernandez. Elmo immediately turns back to his title belt. Groucho Bling: Well, maybe Groucho isn't as upset as I am. But I am definitely upset. Jacob Jett: I understand that, and I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt you guys. I'm thankful for everything that you've taught me. But its time for me to move on. Groucho Bling: I'm just worried about how you'll survive out there in the crazy world that is the SWF. Jacob Jett: Well, I have Mainstream here... And I have someone else who is going to help us. Someone I want you to meet. At the moment, Katie Cameron walks through the open door and into the locker room, having apparently been standing outside in the hallway and listening. She turns to Elmo, but he doesn't even look up from his title belt. Jacob quickly does the introductions. Groucho Bling: So you're going to be the manager for Jacob and Mainline? Katie Cameron: Its “Mainstream”, and yes. Groucho Bling: That's cool... Elmo and I have been trying to find a pretty manager to help us out. Its too bad... Katie Cameron: Yes, definitely. Too bad. Jacob Jett: Well, we better get going, guys. We'll see around! Groucho Bling: Yeah, for sure. Elmo Benson: Bye, Darryl. Machine and Strong work decently well together and show some skills, but they are overwhelmed by the skill and teamwork of the Samoans. He stops suddenly, listening. Its as if he senses what is about to happen. Shady K and Knuckles step out of a hallway ahead of Caufield, blocking his path forward. Laramee and Dodget do the same behind him, trapping the Hardcore American. There is a long moment as Caufield stares at the four men with no fear. Finally Laramee attacks Caufield from behind. The two men exchange a long series of heavy punches, with neither really taking any advantage. The numbers game finally comes into play when Shady K and Knuckles jump into the fray. They quickly overwhelm Caufield, laying him out on the bare concrete. After Laramee delivers several heavy kicks to Caufield's ribs, he calls off the beatdown. Kurt Laramee: I want my rematch, Caufield! The match mainly serves as a showcase for Art Reed to show off his outstanding athleticism and Eisen to prove that he's willing to cheat in any manner possible. Eisen doesn't even really need to cheat, for the most part, as the match seems to be otherwise relatively even – Reed's athleticism gives him an advantage but its not a massive one. Its the interference from Runway Train, delivering a Train Wreck powerbomb to Reed outside the ring while Eisen has the referee distracted. After nearly getting counted out, Reed manages to climb back into the ring. Eisen goes for the cover and gets a 2-count. After a Silver Spoon Shock, Eisen goes for the pin again and gets the 3-count. Eisen celebrates while Dani Nevada, at ringside for Reed, berates Train for his involvement. In the ring, it turns out to be pretty much that. Frehley and Diaz are not only bigger but simply more skillful, and their opponents can't do much to grab any momentum in the ring. The match lasts much longer than it looks like it will, mainly because Greed and Huntingdon decide their best approach is to avoid engaging their opponents. The crowd gets on the duo for their cowardly approach. When Diaz and Frehley do get their hands on The Upper Class, the results are vicious. The cruiserweight Greed, in particular, gets ragdolled around the ring pretty well. The fans love it. After Diaz drops both opponents with a Double Monster Mash clothesline, he nails Greed with Ray Gun finisher and covers to get the three count and the win. The match would have been over quicker, except that Benson is resilient and almost seems to be made of rubber, with the way he bounces around to the battering that James delivers. Retro proves willing to brawl, going toe-to-toe with both Rocky Golden and Texas Pete in the early going. Brett Biggz is quickly identified as the weak link on his team. Brother Bart surprises as he proves to be one of the more dangerous men in the ring, not so much for his skills but the risks he's willing to take. He throws himself about with reckless abandon and takes Bloodstone and Golden both by surprise. Biggz hits all three of his opponents – and his own brother – with an impressive suicide dive when the match moves outside. The middle of the match descends into some chaos, with referee Darren Smith struggling to maintain control. The remainder of the match is messy but very entertaining. The match ends when Brett Biggz submits to the Bloodstone Mutilation while everyone else is brawling outside the ring. Robbie Retro and Bart Biggz try to explain to the ref that Brett was not the legal man in the ring for their team – Bart was. Smith won't hear of it and the win stands. More than good. They tell a good story, with the big veteran brawling and his smaller opponent using quickness and technique to counter, along with some effectively quickly strikes. It slowly seems to wear Hall down, but he powers out of several pin attempts and battles back. Tornado chooses to stay honorable rather than cheat, and although the crowd is relatively, the entire crowd gets behind Hall's comeback as he seems to overcome his own exhaustion and deliver a series of punches that has Tornado stunned. Pistol Pete follows it up with his Pistol Whip Lariat. Tornado kicks out the pin attempt. Then Hall tries a Cattle Rush, followed by another Pistol Whip Lariat. Its painfully close to a 3-count by Tornado just gets his shoulder up. Then its Tornado's turn to fight back, as he works to take control of the match. He wears Hall down again, and it takes not one but two of his Star Maker forearms to put the veteran down for the pinfall. Emma Chase: I don't know how times we have to go over this, Eric. Having Brandon wrestle the likes of that little Canadian was a waste of time. It proved nothing. How does it prove anything for the number one contender to defeat some that we all around know is inferior in every way? Eric Tyler: First off all, he's one of the number one contenders. Number two, beating up on the weak is just something that Brandon is going to have manage to do now and then. You think that when he becomes champion that he will only face the most worthy opponents? Better get used to having your client face whoever he's told to, Emma. Emma Chase: Wait, one of the number one contenders? How to figure that works? Eric Tyler: Well, he didn't beat Steve Frehley at Welcome to the Jungle, did he? Emma Chase: And he didn't lose. Eric Tyler: Exactly. So neither man can lay claim to being the sole number one contender for Faith's belt. Emma Chase: And what exactly are we going to do about that? Eric Tyler: Well, we will have to figure something out, won't we. Steve Frehley: This sounds like a discussion I should probably be involved with. Eric Tyler: DeBones is a popular topic right now. What exactly is your concern, Steve? Steve Frehley: I want him. He's going to pay for what he did last week to Ray. Eric Tyler: Christian Faith made the same request... well, more of a demand really – earlier tonight. So you might need to wait in line until after our esteemed and old champion has his chance at the masked marvel. Steve Frehley: I'm not so big on waiting, Eric. I'm not a particularly patient man. Eric Tyler: Well, I suppose we could set something up for next week. Maybe a fun little three way dance with you, Faith, and Vengeance. Steve Frehley: Fine. Make it happen. Frehley turns to walk out. Bryan Holmes looks very good in his SWF debut. This one avoids the classic Faith match format of the big man making a big comeback after a long beatdown, instead moving back and forth between each man controlling sections of the match. Holmes looks plenty dangerous on his debut, not only brawling with Faith but tying him up with some impressive match wrestling. He also does a great job selling the offense from the champion. The men take the action outside and very nearly get counted out. Back in the ring, Faith uses a series of Faith Hammers to take control of the match, tossing Holmes across the ring with his Stalling Atomic Drop and then going for a Leap of Faith, but the challenger gets out of the way in time. Faith tries again a short time later, with the exact same result. Its only after an intense exchange in the center of the ring that Faith tries it a third time, landing it perfectly on Holmes who sells it well. Faith gets the pinfall and retains his SWF Supreme Championship. The SWF seems to have anticipated this gain, as there is a huge number of officials and security guards who immediately make their way to ringside. It prevents The Harbinger from getting close to Faith in the ring. Vengeance actually strikes out at several of the officials, but there enough of htem that they stand their ground and keep him away. All the while, Christian Faith stands in the ring and stares at the masked monster. He is ready to face Vengeance now, but the Supreme Wrestling Federation seems determined to keep it from happening... yet.... Grade: A*

Random thought of the day... one has to take responsibility for one's own actions, but is that something you can force someone to do? I took the seat across from Richard Eisen's desk that was becoming quite familiar to me. The owner and CEO of Supreme Enterprises assessed me with his hardest Chessmaster stare, saying nothing. I sat patiently until the boss told me whatever it is he had to tell me. Was it really only a few months ago that this hotseat would have had me quivering internally? When that hard stare would have felt as it was probing the very depths of my soul? No, it did nothing. I was perfectly comfortable taking the seat across for my boss, at his request and unknowing what he wanted from me. I had moved beyond the point of fearing Richard Eisen, and I wasn't certain if that was a positive development or not. Of course, this situation could get uncomfortable quite quickly if Eisen posed to me a question about me having been seeing Amanda. I was actually less concerned about than ever. In part because I felt I was becoming indispensible to the Supreme Wrestling Federation. Moreso, it was because the new semester at Brown was about to begin and Amanda had moved into the city in anticipation of that. Richard finally broke the silence, demanding, "Okay, kid, tell me about your idea again." I immediately knew which idea he was referring to. I could see a magazine sitting facedown on the credenza behind his desk, and I would have wagered a significant sum that I knew which magazine and which issue that was. I mused on this for a second before I said anything in response to Richard. The magazine was the latest issue of "In Our Time", the popular and influential bi-weekly news publication. That particular issue was causing a bit of a stir through the professional wrestling industry due to a little two-page article buried near the back of the magazine. The article was the story of a former wrestler named Keith Irvine and while it was not overtly negative, it did let loose a few dirty little secrets of the business. Irvine had been a "star" during the late 1980s and early 1990s, at least according to the magazine. Really, he had been a traveling jobber who kept in steady work due to a couple of interesting gimmicks and his willingness to take a bump. He had wrestled as "Testy Irvine", "Mad Dog Ralphus", one of the many "Masked Patriot" incarnations, even a few masked heel gimmicks. He was apparently big enough to be menacing with a mask on, and that helped him find work, too. So far as I could learn, he had never found real regular work with any promotion. A lot of his stuff was done with the tiny local promotions that popped up and disappeared, sometimes almost at random, during that period. He had done a bit of work in the Texas Wrestling League, Ed Henson's Canadian Wrestling Federation, and with a couple of the promotions that were involved in the East Coast War. He didn't say anywhere for long, whether that by choice or situation. The article did state that for most of that period, he was wrestling full-time without a job on the side, which is pretty tough for a guy in that situation. The article also mentioned Irvine as a "former champion", though I don't think he ever held a belt in any of the promotions of note, so its safe to say I wasn't taking the writer's research as gospel. The article touched on Irvine's career, but that wasn't the focus. The focus was split between Irvine's post-career health problems and the prevelence of such concerns throughout the business. Tragically, Irvine is confined to a wheelchair. The immediate cause of that is a car accident he was involved in about six years ago, but the accident simply exacerbated a severe back problem he already had (at least according Irvine and his doctor). The back problem was a product of his career as a professional wrestler. It wasn't the only long-term consequence of his chosen career, as he had battled addiction post-career to both alcohol and painkillers. Irvine's story was that the hard life on the road as a wrestler had let him using those as methods to cope, and he had a quit those addictions without the aid of rehab as he had no health coverage and couldn't affort it himself. The lack of health insurance while wrestling was apparently the primary reason that the back injuries had gone largely untreated while he was wrestling. That part of the article also detailed the financial situation that Irvine had suffered through after his career as he didn't make a great deal of money and had saved none of it, had no pension, and the bad back and addictions left him in no condition to find real work even before the car accident. The second half of the article talked about how Irvine's story was not unique in the business of professional wrestling. It mentioned how many former wrestlers found themselves facing major health concerns due to the damage done to their bodies and the addictions that many of them managed to acquire. The article revealed a fact that was not quite a secret but was also something the industry didn't like having openly proclaimed - wrestlers under contract are not actually employees of a given promotion. They are almost always considered sub-contractors. Which means they receive no benefits, no pension, usually no health insurance, and the promotion is not responsible for their welfare the way they would be for an employee. There is no union to represent these wrestlers - yet - so they are little on their own. Though the Supreme Wrestling Federation was not mentioned by name, it was noted that even the superstars of the business were on their own as far as health insurance and long-term financial security went. Though the article was not heavy-handed about it, it was criticizing those who ran the industry for allowing these men to abuse their bodies for so long and then not taking care of them once their career was done. Was the article damaging to Richard Eisen and the SWF? In a basic sense, no. It didn't even mention the SWF. And the article didn't mention that for the past decade, all SWF contracts had included mandatory health insurance. The cost of the premiums was split between the company and the worker, but the inclusion was not optional. This was a result of a couple of incidents in the mid 1990s. However, the insurance coverage ceased when the contract either ended or was terminated. The SWF retained to responsibility to an injured worker who was no longer under contract. However, despite this, Eisen was smart enough to recognize that there could and likely would be some media backlash towards the SWF. As the biggest and most visible wrestling promotion in the world, the SWF represented the entire industry to many in the media and even the general public. Even if this article didn't generate any backlash towards the SWF, it was going to be the first of many such articles. I had to assume that Eisen had done the same research I had. Or perhaps he had known before the article came out, as the man was far better informed than I was. The "In Our Time" article wasn't a random writer finding a story. It was the first shot in what was sure to be a full-out assault on the media by a popular publishing company that was publishing a book about Irvine's story. Expected to be released early in the fall, the book had been written by a well-known non-fiction writer. It was going to be the inspirational story behind Irvine overcoming the obstacles through his life. The early reviews for the book were strong. Even if it didn't become a best-seller, it was not going to be your typical pro wrestler biography aimed purely at wrestling fans. There was even talk of a movie deal. So Eisen was looking at doing some preemptive damage control. Which is brought him back to my idea. I finally spoke, saying, "Well, its actually a couple of ideas. The first would be to have every contracted wrestler go through a short seminar about long-term financial planning and preparing for retirement. The second was to set up an optional pension plan that workers could contribute to if they chose. And third, look at having a policy of extending the health insurance coverage for any injured workers who are out of contract." There was a long moment of dead air between as Eisen mused on this. I didn't get nervous and add more, not did I try to justify my ideas. They were what they were and he could take them or leave them. I first made the three suggestions about a month ago in a meeting with Richard and Jerry. The three thoughts were quickly dismissed by both father and son. I didn't feel offended by it at that point - I'm an ideas guy and I come up with a lot of stuff. Obviously not everything I pop out with becomes reality. But at least I know that my ideas are listened to and weighed, not simply rejected outright for no reason. This is an idea I had a few weeks ago. I asked Robbie if he wanted to go out for some fun one evening and he told me he couldn't afford to. That statement stuck in my head for some reason. Robbie isn't so great with his money, something I've known as long as we've been friends. His contract with the SWF isn't exactly making him rich, but he's making pretty respectable coin for a 22-year old with no post-secondary education. While Robbie is a very smart guy, he's still a 22 year old and not saving anything he makes. That's very typical of the younger guys in Supreme, just as it is anywhere. After my idea was initially rejected, Jerry Eisen gave me a bit of an explanation a few days later. It was because the SWF - well, really the Eisen clan - held forth the ideal of personally responsibility. The contracted workers were grown men and women, and they had to take responsibility for their own actions. A good theory, but someone else failing to take responsibility for their own actions could affect the promotion. Richard sighed heavily, telling me, "Well, I talked it over with Jerry and we figure we gotta do something. You heard about this "In Our Times" article?" I nodded slowly. "Well, that's part of the problem. We're gonna be the biggest target if the media decides to turn on the industry to any extent. It really won't matter to them that we never employed the guy at all." "No, it probably won't," I agreed. "Its not going to get better, either. Someone like Chord is a walking time bomb. After the damage he did to himself in the ring and out of the ring, its only a matter of time. There will be some serious fallout from that." "Or Sam Strong." Eisen just nodded slowly. He told me, "So if we get something in place now, it looks like we're being proactive." I didn't fail to notice that Richard Eisen wasn't worried so much about the actual long-term welfare of the workers as he did about what effect such things could have on his promotion. That did not surprise me at all. It probably should have concerned me, at least. "So what are you thinking?" "To go with your ideas," was the owner's answer. "I'll have the Business Office look into setting up the pension thing. You can do the presentation, so you can start putting that together." Eisen went on for a couple of minutes, outlining the plans. I struggled not to grimace when Richard put the seminars on my plate - I hardly needed something else to do at this point, with everything else I was dealing with. As I left Richard's office, I found myself wondering whether trying to force someone take responsibility for their own decisions for the wrong reasons was really any better leaving them to wherever their own decisions took them?
I just spent the better part of two days reading this and I honestly don't know if I ever wanna try to play as SWF now. :D I like how you are keeping some of the names secret on the Generation Supreme shows. Keep up the great work!
Thanks. Great to have another reader. SWF is great fun to play with, I find. Not really challenging, compared to smaller promotions, but fun. I may actually do a SWF hints thread to reveal a few of the "secrets" that I use.

Couple things I meant to post earlier today, before the Random Thoughts segment... -I'm doubting that the debut of Holmes and Morgan was quite as fun as the debut of Acid, but hopefully the addition should have some readers interested. Yes, the tag team will be known as "The Watchmen". And yes, its obviously a reference to the "Watchmen" graphic novel (and film, I suppose). It was actually an idea I had way back at the start of the diary, but knew it wouldn't come through until later. It just happened that it coincided within a couple weeks of the debut of the film. I figured it would be part of Eric Eisen's "Supreme Protectorate", but that's heading in a different direction now. -silly Pistol Pete Hall, deciding to lay waste to my plans. I signed him to use as a trainer, and he actually went to RIPW for a bit when I first signed him. When I brought him back onto the roster, it was with the same intent as Steve Flash - a guy who would only ever be in dark matches or on the B show. Now, on the back of the those two A-match losses (and the win over Texas Pete, I guess), he's gone from C- across the board to B- in half of the US. Given that his Entertainment skills aren't that bad and he certainly fits with the slightly more old school feel that I want the Legends brand to take on, he's pretty much made himself into a roster regular. Unless he up and retires on me... As for Flash, I'm still undecided at this point.
