This is my first diary, so please be gentle ;) I'm Danish so my English isn't fluent. Let me know if something doesn't make sense. Any feedback (negative or positive) is appreciated. On my way to the other side of town in an old, smelly, cold bus, and I was sweating like a pig. I have a job interview. This isn’t just any job, though. This is my dream job; head booker of a wrestling promotion. I had gotten the call last night. The guy on the phone told me to come down today. I wasn’t sure if it was a prank call or not, but you know me… No, that’s right. You don’t. Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Chris West, I’m 45 years old, and I live in Hartford, CT. I attended my first wrestling show at the age of 5, and since then I’ve been to 236 shows (I’ve saved programs from all the shows and I count them from time to time). Wrestling is my life. I have never had a job for more than 2 months at a time, I started to lose my hair about 20 years ago, I would be blind if it wasn’t for my extreme thick glasses, and the only girlfriend I’ve ever had is my right hand. The only reason I haven’t shot myself yet is that I don’t want to miss the next 5-star-match (and because I can’t afford a gun – I’ve been unemployed for a year. The pay is not good). The only thing I have going for me is my blog (spankmeandcallmejudy.com). In my blog I write about wrestling (surprise, surprise), and I have around 200 readers a day. I was just finishing up my latest “article” about last night’s AWA American Armageddon show when the phone rang: [COLOR="Blue"]Me: - Hallo?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]Phone: - Is this Chris West?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Blue"]- Yes. Who is this?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- Good. Did you watch last night’s American Armageddon?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Blue"]- Yeah. Who am I talking to?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- What did you think?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Blue"]- It wasn’t exactly good. Who is…[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- Yeah, that’s what I thought. Listen, I’m gonna need a new head booker. I fired Gerry Rose. You up for the challenge?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Blue"]- I guess. Is this Derick Legall?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- Of course. Who did you think it was? Come down to the Symphony Hall at 1:00 pm, okay?[/COLOR] Then he hung up the phone. I wondered if this was really Derick Legall calling me? How did Derick know me? Was he one of the people who read my blog? I had to take the chance. Last night’s show had been abysmal, so it only made sense if Legall had fired Rose. The World Heavyweight belt and the Tag Team belts had been vacated on the show for no real reason. When I woke up today I went out to buy a suit. You gotta spend money to make money, right? Well, I didn’t have any money to spend so I went to a second hand clothes store. I bought a nice green suit and a bitchin' rainbow coloured tie. I got on the bus and headed to the Symphony Hall where AWA had an All American All-Stars show.[/FONT]

When I arrived at the Symphony Hall I was greeted by Legall’s foxy secretary. She gave me the elevator look and smiled. Foxy secretary: [COLOR="Green"]- Hi, I’m Lisa. What a funny suit. I assume you’re Chris West?[/COLOR] Funny suit? What was she talking about. My suit wasn’t funny. It was cool. Right? [COLOR="Blue"]- Yeah. I’m here to see Derick Legall.[/COLOR] [COLOR="Green"]- Follow me.[/COLOR] She led me to Legall’s office. I was so nervous I was sweating like crazy. She knocked on the door, and we were met with a loud [COLOR="Red"]What?![/COLOR] [COLOR="green"]- Chris West is here.[/COLOR] [COLOR="red"]- Who?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Green"]- The new head booker.[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- Right. When Legall saw me, he looked at me like he’d seen a ghost. [COLOR="red"]- Wow… That suit… It’s… wow. Ehm, have a seat.[/COLOR] He didn’t like my suit either? What is wrong with those people? I sat down in front of him and extended my hand. [COLOR="Blue"]- Hi. I’m Chris West.[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- Yeah. I know. One of the guys said that you’re writing a great blob, or whatever.[/COLOR] [COLOR="Blue"]- It’s blog, sir.[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- What?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Blue"]- Blog.[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- … Whatever. Do you want the job or not?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Blue"]- I would love to get the job.[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]- Fine. You’re hired. You’ll get $5,000 a month. Is that okay?[/COLOR] [COLOR="Blue"]- Yeah, that’s fine.[/COLOR] Sweet! I’m rich! He gave me a pen and a piece of paper. [COLOR="Red"]- Sign here…[/COLOR] I signed. [COLOR="red"]- And here…[/COLOR] I signed. [COLOR="red"]- And finally here.[/COLOR] I signed that too. I didn’t even read the contract. I was so excited to be on board. [COLOR="red"]-You’re starting tonight. Now get out of my office. I’m busy, and so are you.[/COLOR] I got out of me seat and left the office. What a weird, weird man. Legall’s secretary led me to my own office. On the way there I met Jaguar Collins. I wasn’t that big a fan of him, but it was still pretty cool. He looked at me and laughed. I hate those two! Message received. My suit looked terrible. It didn’t matter, though. I was booking the second biggest wrestling company in the world. I was in heaven.

Mad Dog also informed me that Sean Wilson had provoked and then attacked Victor Lyons. Legall wanted me to handle the situation. I told my secretary to go get Sean Wilson. Just read through this in full. I love the backstage segments so far, second-hand suit jokes and all. Although I think doing a diary with the early Beta might be a bit risky since the kinks are still being worked out, it's very interesting to see how you're tackling such a big promotion with a cast of previously unknown characters and a whole host of problems. I can't say I'm surprised to see Jaguar Collins fall foul of the drugs policy, although I thought he might at least make it beyond the opening week of the game. I didn't realise until you posted that Stranton was being auto-assigned as an authority figure, since prior to that he was virtually always appearing as a heel colour commentator, still the AWA really lack anyone that can step straight into that role and not stink up the ratings (like Legall would). Also congratulations on signing the constant headache that is Sean Wilson. Talented with good overness, he seems to cause problems pretty much every other week. ;) The first few feuds your building seem promising though. I think the format used in the second show certainly helps.

Yeah, AWA really needs both a heel colour and a good authority figure, so I think I'll just have to stick with two play-by-play guys for now and Stranton as a General Manager type of character. I was hoping to have Jaguar Collins for more than one show ebfore I had to suspend him, but I figured that would be the most realistic thing to do. I already regret signing Wilson. On his first show he has bad chemistry with one of the company's biggest stars (who he is in a program with) and he gets into a fight. He gets 20,000 a month the next 2 years. Someone will probably have killed him by then. I'll stick with the format of the second show. I also liked it better myself. It turns out that I'm not exactly Tarantino when it comes to writing dialogue.
