Just to close the gap between now and the Royal Rumble, I'm just going to recap (yeah, he does this a lot! COME ON NOW!) what happened over the next five weeks going into the Royal Rumble.

World Heavyweight Championship - Randy Orton ⓒ vs. Jack Swagger

- At the contract signing, both men remained relatively calm, until Orton slapped Swagger. This would prove to be the wrong move, as the Legend Killer was then met with a powerbomb through the table!

- On RAW 3 weeks before the Rumble, Swagger teamed with Batista to take on Randy Orton and John Morrison. This match saw Swagger pin Orton following a Gutwrench Powerbomb.

- The week of the Rumble, Orton faced Chris Jericho, and lost to Jericho thanks to Swagger, as part of the Pick Your Poison challenge. Swagger faced, and defeated, SmackDown's DH Smith and Cody Rhodes in the same episode of RAW.

WWE Championship - Triple H ⓒ vs. Shelton Benjamin

- The week after Shelton won #1 contendership, he teamed with Edge to take on CM Punk and Triple H. Benjamin and Edge would score the win via pinfall over Punk following the Pay Dirt from Benjamin.

- Benjamin interfered in Triple H's matches throughout the next several weeks. The week of the Royal Rumble, he was met with a Sledgehammer shot from The Game.

ECW Championship - Rey Mysterio ⓒ vs. Tyson Kidd

- These two remained more respectful towards each other than anything, teaming together several times prior to the Royal Rumble.

WWE Divas Championship - Beth Phoenix ⓒ vs. Maryse

- Nothing of note outside of several random Diva Tag Matches.

The Royal Rumble Match - Chris Jericho, Batista, Curt Hawkins, The Brian Kendrick, Shad, Christian, John Morrison, The Miz, Mike Knox, Umaga, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Mark Henry, Evan Bourne, DH Smith, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Edge and 12 other WWE Superstars battle for the right to challenge any champion in the main event of WrestleMania XXVI!

- You'll have to read to see the other 12 Superstars in the Royal Rumble match.

Wrestling Observer.com Editorial - WrestleMania XXVI:

(Note, I'm just going to fill you all in on the key points of the buildup, since I'm pretty much at WM in TEW, and don't feel like typing 24 episodes of TV that won't be replied to)

WrestleMania XXVI Main Event for the World Heavyweight Championship - Randy Orton ⓒ vs. Chris Jericho

This match has been building since last July when Orton kicked Jericho in the head. They gave Orton the belt at Cyber Sunday over Cena, and had Jericho return then, which was earlier than planned, as Jericho was originally set to return at the end of Survivor Series. From there, Jericho gets screwed out of his title shot at Armageddon, wins the Royal Rumble, and faces Shawn Michaels at No Way Out. From No Way Out on, the build to this match has been great. Jericho's promo the night after No Way Out about seeing his entire career flash before his eyes that night last July, and wondering if he'd ever gain his revenge on Orton, was absolutely awesome. Orton showed a new side of himself, attacking Jericho and attempting to run him down with a car. Jericho managed to evade the car, and told Orton that he will not leave WrestleMania on his own. I'm fully expecting these two to tear the house down.

WWE Championship - John Cena ⓒ vs. Batista:

This match was pretty much to be expected when Cena won the belt. They've had two tremendous matches before, at SummerSlam 2008, and again in 2009. The build to this match has primarily been these two talking about how this is the rubber match, and that they're going to emerge the champion at WrestleMania. Very little physical interaction between the two, though they did team together a few times going into WM, and took every opportunity to one-up each other going into this match.

The Undertaker vs. Sting:

The words "Dream Match" come to mind, and since September, it's been pretty obvious that these two were crossing paths at WrestleMania. Sting has done everything but physically attack the Undertaker. He's mocked Undertaker constantly, and seems to be on a mission from God (aka the higher power) to destroy the Undertaker. Undertaker's brother Kane has vanished as a result of something to do with Sting, and Undertaker is out for revenge. One of the more interesting parts ot this match's build is that they had Undertaker thrown into a pit of fire (as in he was totally safe because there was no fire IN the pit) by Sting, and Sting said that if Taker managed to find his way out, he'd see the light at WrestleMania. Really good stuff building into this match.

Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H:

This match was out of the blue, but since this is Shawn's retirement match, it's definitely fitting that he and his best friend are the two facing off. Shawn opened RAW the night after No Way Out with a promo, which Triple H interrupted and said if anyone was going to send Shawn packing, it would be Triple H. Again, no physical interaction between the two, as this seems to be rooted in respect, but the DX segments going into this were hilarious.

CM Punk vs. Edge:

Edge started this feud off back at No Way Out when he atteacked Punk to gain entrance into the Tri-Branded Elimination Chamber, which Edge ended up losing. Punk attacked Edge the following week on SmackDown, and the two were put into a match on Superstars in the first week of March, which went to a double disqualification. Vickie Guerrero made this match for WrestleMania, and from there on, this has become one of the more anticipated matches of the show.

Money in the Bank - Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne vs. John Morrison vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Curt Hawkins vs. Christian:

Pretty much the standard MITB Build. Guys win the qualifying matches, have some tag matches on TV, and then they fight. This should be a good match, considering at least four of these guys are good in ladder matches, and the rest will probably be able to do more than hold their own.

ECW Championship - Tyson Kidd ⓒ vs. King Kong Kondo:

This match should be down right awesome, because these two have had good one-on-one matches in the past. Basically Kondo gets another rematch because he's beaten the hell out of everyone else on the ECW roster, and he's gunning for Kidd's championship. I think this is the last real chance they have to solidify Kondo as a main event threat.

WWE Unified Tag Team Championship - Mike Knox and Umaga ⓒ vs. DH Smith and Cody Rhodes vs. The Hardyz

Essentially this was originally just Knox and Umaga/Hardyz, but Legacy ended up winning a match over The Hardyz and petitioned RAW and SmackDown GMs Stephanie McMahon and Vickie Guerrero, respectively, to gain entrance into this match. Should be good to kill some time.

Melina, Mickie James, Candice, Maria, and Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Jillian, Layla, and Michelle McCool:

Announced on Superstars this past week. No idea what purpose it serves, but this is definitely a bathroom break for me, and probably anyone in attendance.
