I voted for TexasRangers USWF dynasty. I love some of the character overhauls he's done for real life guys, and some of the alliances and storylines he's put in place have been good so far. I like the style of writeup of the shows and find they get the characters across well enough, without becoming difficult to read and overly complex. For me, it takes it over Fromage's, which while I understand and appreciate the work put into doing those graphics and making the diary look pretty, just seems a bit gimmicky for my own tastes (not saying it's bad, it's not, it's REALLY good, but personal preference and stuff) and I prefer the way the shows are presented in USWF

Hey, that's the beauty of diary writing here on the forum. Not every diary is to everyone's taste. There are so many brilliant dynasties on here that are run very differently either in match write-up, characterisation, presentation or whatever else, let alone the choice of real-world or C-verse, along with the vast array of different promotion types or locations available in both. it just makes contests like these very hard to choose because each nominated dairy is deserving of a win in its own way. You're spot on - my diary is both gimmicky and graphic heavy! It's just the way I hide my deficiencies in other areas, like solid booking and characterisation!

 

Still amuses me that D-mack and I are both classed as rookies!

lol, cool. it wasn't meant as a sleight on your diary, as I said, I think it's really good, but just personal preference really and TexasRangers' fitted the kinda style I enjoy a bit more

You are? Then I insist you have some of your diary characters speaking French. I know that language is considered "instant Heel heat" by American fans, but in a Canadian promotion it would be perfectly acceptable. I tried to put a quirk into my diary that every time Jeremy & Edd Stone talked to each other, they'd only speak French, but I couldn't keep it up. My French is atrocious, and their words became too important. Still, I reckon it would be a really cool thing for any character or promotion.

And not entirely accurate. I've translated English to Spanish (or vice versa) just for fun-- I speak both languages --and sometimes the translations are atrocious. Then again, it might make for an interesting read in a diary. Perhaps something lost in translation.

Actually, I've used the translators before, and They don't make sense, because they translate Word for Word, not in the sentence context. So if you're a white american (No Offense meant) walking into a Quebecor bar to ask directions, and you have your trusty translator handy, you're going to get laughed out of there

Nothing lost in translation - English has an unusually flexible grammatical structure (compare, just for example, to the number of rules over placement of the comma in German), and that's before you take into account that no bugger uses fully correct grammar in speech, and few do in the written word. It's surprising how often you hear people mock foreigners' phrasings when all they're doing is actually strictly applying our grammatical rules.

 

Now, because English grammar has such a flexible structure, we can understand grammatical lapses. But because this structure is not identical to, ah, pretty much anyone else, translation word-for-word without a mind to check for context is going to have problems.
