Stoopid real life making me miss picks ... well, the chance to. I'm missing picks well enough on my own. lol

Quick Picks:

Fake Ms. Marvel vs. Ms. Marvel

It's common knowledge that the original is always better than the sequel.

Venom vs. Flash & Zoom

`cause he's muthafatherin' Venom, `at's why! I wanna be Eddie Brock when I grow up, even if it means I grow up jealous and crazy, covered in alien goo. Venom is that badass!

<strong>Venom</strong> vs. Flash & Zoom</p><p> </p><p>

PS: I am almost done assigning abilities for Fallout Mafia. Only Brotherhood and Outcasts remain. The rest I've gotten a draft of abilities and AP points, as well as role titles.</p><p> </p><p>

If you think it looks balanced we can start actually writing up roles <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Fake Ms. Marvel Vs. Ms. Marvel - I see an interference, but in the comic book world, what does that mean? It could mean a retreat for the heel. But I feel an unfair edge may give Moonstone a little bit of help to win this one.

Venom vs. Flash & Zoom - Mostly because I want venom to join onto Zoom, and have a rivalry with Flash. Maybe that would lead to Venom Zoom and The Black Flash teaming, or even having a rivalry.

Date: Thursday, Week 4, October 2008

Show: The Brave and the Bold!

Location: Muscle Tower (Mid Atlantic)

Attendance: 5000

Daredevil
sat perch on the window. Still sore, but no time for rest. He looked back in the hospital room. He would have to arrange for his alter ego to make a donation to the hospital, to offset the costs of his anonymous treatment. Making things right, however, could wait another day.

Tonight...tonight was for revenge.

The cane handle on his billy club shoots across the sky, wrapping around an exhaust pipe on a nearby building. With a firm grip, the
Man Without Fear
leaps down into the night.

“You just did what?”

The
Green Arrow
looks around. The ice had nearly melted and
Mr. Freeze
,
Captain Cold
, and the Marvel pair were long gone.
“I helped Mr. Freeze and Captain Cold escape from a pair of Marvels.”

“Babs”
took a deep breath, then responded.
“Being at war with the Marvels doesn't mean we have to help out known villains... nevermind, we can talk about that later. Listen, I need you to keep an eye out for a Marvel known as Spider-Man.”

“Spider-Man? How will I know him?”

“He's dressed like a spider. The Birds are already out on the city, searching for him. If my sources are right, it's crucial that we capture him.”

Green Arrow
looked around. Oddly, he saw a man swinging across the city on a rope. A coincidence like this was only plausible in the Over 9000verse.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Spider-Man_alt01.jpg

“You're not going to believe this, but I think I've found him.”

“Really, where?”

Click.

Green Arrow
quickly hangs up his phone and produces his bow. He takes aim at
Spider-Man
.

Back at her workstation,
Oracle
snaps her headset onto the desk. He was so impulsive and irritating! No time to be mad at
Ollie
. Her fingers flicked to life, typing in a series of commands. She only had a little time to triangulate his position.

Parker
felt his spider-sense twitch, was
Elektra
pursing him?

The arrows snaps from the bow and slices the web in half. The Green Arrow immediately draws another arrow.

Spider-Man
twists and lands on his feet. That was some shot. Was it
Hawkeye
? He leans to the side, alerted by his Spider-Sense, and narrowly dodges an arrow.
Spider-Man
looks back as the arrow connects with the side of a nearby building, producing a large electric jolt. An electrified arrow?

Ollie
fired again. And again. And again. This so-called
Spider-Man
leaped and twisted, dodging each attack. This was not good. He needed to use something with a wider radius of effectveness. A sleeping gas arrow should do...

*Thwip*

Webbing fastened his gas arrow to the bow. The string released, but the tension wasn't enough to send the arrow forward. It was however, enough to set off the gas arrow's detonation timer.
Green Arrow
tossed the bow to the side.

*Pop*

The arrow explodes, releasing a small cloud of potent knock-out gas. Phew, that was close.

Spider-Man
swings from behind, driving his feet into
Green Arrow's
back and sending him tumbling into the gas.
Ollie
struggles to his feet, ready to defend himself. But suddenly, he's very, very tired. So tired...

Spider-Man
shrugs. Well, that was easier than exp...

Captain Cold
and
Mr. Freeze
couldn't believe their good luck. The
Green Arrow
had helped them escape. Perhaps this Marvel-DC conflict would work in their favor, after all.

But then again, maybe not.

pointed his blaster at the

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Alucard.jpg

The vampire-turned Horseman of Death stalked around the Mutant Research facility. Given his age,
Alucard
rarely needed to feed, but he had been incapacitated for so long. For too long.

His new master had transported him here and assigned him to feed on one of the residents of facility. Normally,
Alucard
would burst through the wall, find his target, and quickly drain the life from them. But he felt weak and almost vulnerable. Granted, even in his famished form, he had the strength of 10 men and the speed of a racehorse. Yet,
Apocalypse
warned him that mutants could be dangerous to even such as himself, and so tonight... tonight
Alucard
would use the cover of darkness.

He willed himself into mist and floated into a vent. His vampiric senses urging him forward, through the complex. Though another vent and into her room.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Siryn_alt02.jpg

Before him,
Siryn
was in bed, deep asleep.

It would be easy to drain her while she slept. Too easy. At his age, life wasn't living if not for the challenges.

“Defend yourself, child.”

Startled,
Siryn
sprang out of bed. Immediately she shrieked and a massive sonic wave jumped from her mouth. It slammed
Alucard
through a nearby wall and shook the entire facility.

Rubbing her eyes,
Siryn
stared forward. Who was that? And did she defeat him. She gulped. Did she kill him?

“Ayyeeehh!”
[/font]
She screamed against, releasing another sonic burst, as the figure leaped toward her. The wave does not stop her assailant, who quickly grabs her by the throat.

With seemingly no effort,
Alucard
slams
Siryn's
head into the wall and in a violent, yet somehow passionate motion, slams his fangs into her neck. For a moment, she screams again, knocking over nearby furniture and shaking the building.

Then, the screams turn to moans.

Instantly, he could feel his strength returning to him. Her blood... How curious. He wondered...

Alucard
drops
Siryn
to the ground. Not dead, but nearly. Despite agreeing to be the Horseman of Death, the vampire felt little desire to kill those that he was not instructed to kill. He preferred a more sustainable approach to living.

Result: Alucard defeated Siryn

The Joker
holds an unconscious
Dazzler
in his arms and dances about his hideout with her, despite the lack of music.
Harley
lays on the bed, propping her head up with her hand and crossing her legs.
“Puddin', I think we should get her some medical attention.”

Joker
continues to dance, forcing the lifeless, limp body of
Dazzler
to do the waltz with him. He looks at the
Dazzler
, whose head deadly snaps back.
“Nonsense, Harley! I think she's having the time of her life!”

Harley
shakes her head.
“Uh, she was in the trunk of the car when we slammed into it with the trash truck. I'm pretty sure she's hurt, Puddin'.”

The Joker
giggles, then suddenly stops.
“So what?”

Harley
stands up and slowly walks towards her man.
“She might die, Mr. J.”

The Joker
giggles some more.
“And?”

Harley
wraps her arms around the
Joker's
neck, hugging him.
“Well, if you don't care if she dies, why'd we bother to bring her here?”

Suddenly,
The Joker
releases
Dazzler
, who drops to the ground.
Harley
winces as the
Dazzler's
unconscious head smacks into the ground.
“Good point.”

The Joker
pulls away from
Harley
and rubs his hands together.
“What to do, what to do?”

Harley
leans over and checks on
Dazzler
.

“Okay, here's the plan.”
The Joker
struts toward
Harley
, pulling her to her feet by her jester's hat.
“You find a doctor of ill-repute to attend to her injuries, while I go out and play with those so-called
villains
.”

Harley
nods.
“But first, we dance! He-he-he! Ho-ho-ho! Ha-ha-ha!”
The Joker
pulls
Harley's
hands up and forces her into a waltz as well. Meanwhile, a trickle of blood emerges from behind
Dazzler's
head.

Outside,
Crossbones
stands near a wall, listening into
The Joker
and
Harley Quinn
. He was frustrated that
The Red Skull
had sent him here, as he felt that the
New Captain America
was a much bigger priority. Oh well, he'd just nab the clown woman after this
Joker
character ran off, rough her up a bit and drop her off at the boss's place. Then it was back to hunting
Cap
.

vs.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Zoom.jpghttp://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/TheFlash_alt02.jpg

The Speedsters narrowly dodge
Venom
, as he lands between them.
Zoom
darts off, as
Venom
snaps symbiotic webbing in his direction, narrowly missing.

“Coward!”

The Flash
darts off as well, realizing that he can probably outrun this Marvelite, even with his weakened connection to the Speed Force.

Venom
produces another stream of symbiotic webbing and catches a moving car, forcing it to a stop. He pulls the car towards him and lifts it over his head.
Venom
then flings this car into another nearby car, producing a loud, wrecking noise.

Several hundred feet away,
The Flash
stops. He turns back and watches the monstrous Marvel fling cars around. He knows that the creature is baiting him, relying on his sense of good to provoke him into fighting.

And it works.

At nearly 300 mph,
Flash
slams a fist into
Venom's
jaw, knocking the hulking figure over and onto his side.
Wally
looks at his hand. Blood from the creatures shark like teeth.

Looking up, with his tongue snapping about,
Venom
smiles. He then springs forward, attacking
The Flash
.

Even further away,
Zoom
stops. He looks back.
West
is an idiot. They don't have time for this! Screw the civies!
Zoom
continues to run.
West
is on his own!

The Flash
is able to dodge
Venom's
attacks with a degree of ease, as he is considerably faster than his opponent. His counter attacks, however, seem to be doing little to
Venom
. Unexpectedly, the creature produces another line of that webbing material which connects to
Flash's
leg.
West
sprints forward, pulling the webbing until it's taut... but it doesn't break.

Instead, it acts like a rubber-band, snapping
The Flash
off the ground and back toward
Venom
. Acting like a batter,
Venom
slams a massive fist across the speedsters back, driving him across the street.

Zoom
, against his better judgement, springs into the fight and attacks
Venom
. Like his fellow speedster,
Zoom
finds that he is largely unable to damage the
Venom
. Unlike
The Flash
,
Zoom
is apparently too fast for
Venom
, and successfully avoids a series of haymakers, webbing attacks, and bites.

Thirty-seconds or so later,
West
darts back into the fight. The speedsters form a whirlwind of punches around
Venom
, darting around him at breakneck speeds, slamming fists, elbows, forearms, and knees into his massive frame.

The attack seems successful, as
Mac Gargan
starts to panic. His counter attacks become less frequent and more predictable. Slowly, he starts to focus on defending. Quite frankly,
Mac
is scared.

And then the symbiote takes over. With tendrils emerging from all sides of his body in a radial attack,
Venom
unconsciously trips both speedsters, forcing them out of control.
The Flash
slams into the back of a semi-truck, driving a whole through the trailer with his body.
Zoom
tumbles into the side of a dumpster, producing a body-sized dent in the metal frame.

Mac
collapses to his knees, huffing and puffing. Clearly, he didn't know everything that he needed to know about the symbiote.

Slowly,
The Flash
and
Zoom
struggle to their feet. They stare at their exhausted opponent, and with deep sighs and fresh wounds, prepare for another round.

Result: Venom draws with The Flash and Zoom

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/MsMarvelMoon.jpg

Upon seeing the original
Ms. Marvel
,
Karla Sofen
immediately tries to turn intangible, realizing that “we have to talk” is synonymous with “I'm going to punch your face in”. Unfortunately for her, a super-powered fist connects with her jaw before she finishes the transition.

The Fake Ms. Marvel
sails through the airs and collides with a nearby light post, which collapses as a result of the impact.

Infuriated that this woman is tarnishing her name,
Carol
pushes the attack, daring through the air and slamming a massive left hook into the side of the
Fake Ms. Marvel's
head. She follows that up by blasting her in the torso with a massive concussive blast, which drives her opponent through a glass window and into a nearby building.

Carol
pauses. She wants nothing more than to kill this imposter, but tries to contain her rage.

A laser shoots from inside the building and drills
Ms. Marvel
in her left shoulder. Soon after, the
Fake Ms. Marvel
darts out of the building and tackles
Carol
. The two women barrel into a nearby taxi-cab, tipping it over. The pair engage in another short melee, which the original
Ms. Marvel
gets the better of by eventually slamming a car door onto
Karla's
head.

With
Karla
dazed,
Carol
pushes the offensive, lifting her opponent off the ground, and driving her face first through the front window of a nearby city bus.

Carol
tries to reign in her emotions, as she enters the bus. She tries to mentally convince herself to not maim the impostor. Inside, she sees the
Fake Ms. Marvel
on her knees, crawling toward the back of the bus.
Ms. Marvel
reaches down to grab her by the shoulder... and her hand passes through.

Now intangible, the
Fake Ms. Marvel
flies through the roof of the bus and unleashes a massive laser blast, tearing a whole through the bus.
Ms. Marvel
flies upward, punching a whole through the bus and now, the
Ms. Marvel's
are face to face, floating 30 or so feet above the ground.

Karla
smiles. Now intangible, she should have no problem using her laser blasts to defeat the original
Ms. Marvel
.

Carol
raises her hand and focuses. Tapping into her former powers as
Binary
she strains and produces a cosmic blast. The blast sails through the
Fake Ms. Marvel's
intangible chest, yet still causes her great pain and dropping her to the ground.

The original
Ms. Marvel
glides to the ground. Now, to take her in...

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Rogue.jpg

Rogue's
bare hand grabbed
Ms. Marvel's
face. Instantly, the emotions, memories, and powers flood over
Anne Marie
. Both women cry out in pain.

Ms. Marvel
grabbed
Rogue
by the wrist, trying to break her grasp. A significant amount of power had already transferred however, and
Rogue
was not easy to move.
Carol
stared at
Rogue
, while the struggle continued.
“Why... are... you... doing... this... to... me... ... ... again?”

Ms. Marvel
used the last bit of her energy reserves to throw a left hook across
Rogue's
face, breaking the contact and dropping
Rogue
on her butt.
“I'm sorry, Sugah. I really am. But the X-Men need me... and I need your powers to help them.”

Ms. Marvel
shook her head. The women were still connected from the first time that this had happened.
Rogue
would pay for this.
Carol
struggles, trying to reach her feet, but instead, collapses to her knee.
“This... isn't... right.”

Their connection was strong. Roughly half of
Ms. Marvel's
considerable powers had quickly transferred over to
Rogue
, and already, she could tell that the transfer was likely permanent.
Carol's
emotions, lead by fear and anger, were rushing over her. A tear forms in
Rogue's
, as she stands up.

“I know.”

Ms. Marvel
watched as
Rogue
darted into the sky. She wanted to pursue her, but she was exhausted from the power draining and from the fight with her imposter. The powers of
Binary
were already compensating for
Rogue's
theft. In all likelihood,
Ms. Marvel
would be nearly as strong tomorrow as she was today. And while
Rogue
did not steal her powers, she had again stolen her thoughts and memories.

Slowly,
Ms. Marvel
pulled herself up to her feet. That
X-Man
had violated her... again. She vowed to find and punish her, but first...first she needed to finish off this imposter.

Carol
turned around. She looked around and quickly discovered that the
Fake Ms. Marvel
had fled.

And now, the PPV. Which, in this diary, should really be viewed more as a double-length issue featuring the characters of both Spotlight & the Brave & the Bold.

I'm not sure how long this will take to get up, as I'd like to spend some time making it good. Plus, another semester of teaching starts tomorrow and my short-form mafia game sort of snuck up on me... so yeah. Maybe a week or so before this goes up.

Preview of MDC2 Secret Wars 1

Batman vs. Bane vs. Daredevil

-Last time these three were together, Daredevil teamed up with Spider-Man against an unlikely Bane and Batman alliance. That alliance quickly fell apart and since then, the old DC foes have once again beat each other senseless. Now, Daredevil returns to the streets of Hell's Kitchen, looking for revenge against Batman and Bane.

Apocalypse & Martian Manhunter vs. The X-Men

-The zombie version of Martian Manhunter recently maimed Mastermind and seriously assaulted Wolfsbane, prompting the X-Men into action. After a short battle between Martian Manhunter and the X-Men Emma Frost, Jean Grey, and Cyclops, Apocalypse arrived on the scene to recruit Manhunter as one of the Horseman.

Juggernaut vs. Doomsday

-Both the Juggernaut and Doomsday have rampaged across the country-side, literally stomping their way toward Metropolis. After "teaming" up together last week to batter the God of Thunder, the Marvel and DC monsters find themselves face to face, thanks to the actions of Dr. Strange!

Spider-Man vs. The Birds of Prey

-After the leader of the Birds of Prey, Oracle, received information indicating that Spider-Man was a key figure in the Marvel universe, she directed the Huntress and Black Canary to apprehend the Marvel Webslinger. After a failed attempt at apprehending Spider-Man involving Catwoman II (that was foiled byElektra) and a second failed attempt at apprehending Spider-Man by the Green Arrow, the Birds of Prey have now cornered the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!

The Flash & Zoom vs. The Dark Avengers

-Earlier in the month, the Dark Avengers managed to capture legendary DC hero The Flash. Then, somewhat unexpectedly, one of The Flash's greatest enemies, Zoom appeared and freed the Flash. Pursued by Venom and now by the Iron Patriot, the DC Speedsters find themselves hunted and attacked by a group of government sponsored "heroes"!

The Incredible Hulk vs. Superman

-A rampaging Hulk looked set to lay waste to Metropolis, until he was uncermonsiouly tossed away from the city by the Man of Steel. Superman, however, was unable to completely address the Hulk, as he soon found himself face to face with Wolverine and then Storm. Now, with both the Juggernaut and Doomsday also approaching his home city and demanding his attention, an injured and weakened Superman must find a way to stop the Incredible Hulk, as the fate of Metropolis clearly hangs in the balance!

Quick Picks:

Batman vs. Bane vs. Daredevil

Apocalypse & Martian Manhunter vs. The X-Men

Juggernaut vs. Doomsday

Spider-Man vs. The Birds of Prey

The Flash & Zoom vs. The Dark Avengers

Hulk vs. Superman

Awesome show, can't wait for the ppv!

I've got to give you credit for how you describe and choreograph the fight sequences as well. They read well and I get a real sense of what's going on, plus they're pretty exciting to boot.

Batman vs. Bane vs. Daredevil

Apocalypse & Martian Manhunter vs. The X-Men

Juggernaut vs. Doomsday

Spider-Man vs. The Birds of Prey

The Flash & Zoom vs. The Dark Avengers

Hulk vs. Superman

Doomsday, and Apocalypse seem like easy picks, but I can't really say for the others, so I'm going with my gut

Batman vs. Bane vs. Daredevil - Cos Bane has no beef with him, so I expect another suicidal double knock-out sorta thing by the DC pair to allow Daredevil to steal a win.

Apocalypse & Martian Manhunter vs. The X-Men - If the horseman pair lost this, your potential stable would lose all momentum. I don't see you as a self-sabateur so victory for them is assured.

Juggernaut vs. Doomsday - Considering that Doomsday has killed Superman before (If memory serves me right) I don't see the freakin' Juggernaut getting the upset.

Spider-Man vs. The Birds of Prey - With all of his history, I feel it to be pointless to job Spiderman

The Flash & Zoom vs. The Dark Avengers - You can't hit what you can't see, even though they are weakened, I bet they can escape with their lives.

Hulk vs. Superman - Giving a weakened Superman this victory to me will just make me lose faith in Hulk all over again. To me, the Hulk gimmick is pointless if he picks up numerous losses, so I want him to build a nice win streak.

It amaze's me, the talent found on this websight. I've read many a books not as interesting as the diary's that are wrote here. What's more, is the use of a game to have somewhat of a "ruleset" to follow.

I would at my age buy a comicbook that was this good. Your take on the hero's and villains are very much in line of what one would expect. Funny stuff with the Hulk singing Umbrella ella ella, and the amazingly powerfull, yet highly optimistic Captain Marvel... Gives you the complete feeling that a child with a heart of gold is in complete controll of the Man with many godlike powers.

The adamantium able to actually penatrate Superman, and the revelation that the atmosphere has probably made him weaker in this universe. Just amazingly well put together, yet with a complete feel of surprise.

I know that some of the character's your not completely familiar with, but the important glitch's in their personalities, you have pretty much hit on perfectly.

I'm really interested in the team of Nightwing and the New Captain America (Bucky). I'd like to see more fear from Batman's creepy yet efficiant way of crimefighting. Really hooked on the Catwoman/Spidey thing going on. Shades of Selina in the new Catwoman? I didn't realise how close their personalities were. Perhaps Selina might make a cameo as Catwoman as well, and be successfull where the new one has failed? Selina is almost inhuman in fighting skills.

I love Elektra in this story. I have never really got into Daredevil or any of the Hells Kitchen crew, etc.. I used to be a fan of Powerman and Ironfist, at one time. I would like to see more of their personalities come through, instead of jobbing... They were a pretty good team back in the day.

Where is The Punisher? LOL.

Great job, and I am probably going to be reading on. I have to figure out who that is that Apocolypse is answering to. I don't know why I can't shrug the feeling of it being that Marvel version of Superman though (name escapes me).

take your time, as long as you keep the good stuff coming! :D (only get a new comic once a month, your providing almost weekly goodness)

Batman vs. Bane vs. Daredevil - sets up a kicking tag match of Bat & devil vs Bane

Apocalypse & Martian Manhunter vs. The X-Men

I see this continuing to build

Juggernaut vs. Doomsday - DRAW

Spider-Man vs. The Birds of Prey - spidey keeps kicking A

The Flash & Zoom vs. The Dark Avengers - after drawing with Venom I don't see the DA picking up the win

Hulk vs. Superman - Hulk Smash, Hulk bash!

Might as well play along. I have every intention of trying to keep up with this diary.

Batman vs. Bane vs. Daredevil - I picked the only one without powers for this one.

Apocalypse & Martian Manhunter vs. The X-Men - Just don't see MM backing up Apocalypse, and I don't see him NOT realizing the X-Men aren't bad guys when he actually thinks about it.

Juggernaut vs. Doomsday - The Kryptonian version of the Hulk, lol. Seriously, Juggernaut is out of his league here... Perhaps if it was Hulk instead.

Spider-Man vs. The Birds of Prey - They know his skill now, if they work together they can win. (If there is no interference by Catwoman that is).

The Flash & Zoom vs. The Dark Avengers - I have to agree with most... I don't see the speedster's being overtaken by this wannabe bunch.

Hulk vs. Superman - If Superman had time to "think" about what to do next, I think Hulk would have a good chance, as he could potentially try to talk him down... but without time on his side right now, and the power drain.. I just don't see Supe's spending alot of time messing with him. Going to hit him hard, fast, and finish the big green before he can get build up enough strength to go toe to toe with Supes.....

Pluss, with the win over Captain Marvel already, Hulks going to underestimate Supes. Hopefully this is the "Bad Ass" Superman, the Alex Ross Superman. If not, then I believe Hulk has alot better chance.

I'm done with all of the formatting for the whole show and about 80% of the writing... but I'm doubtful that I'll have a chance to write the last two "matches" before this weekend.

Figured I'd go ahead and toss out the first part now and throw the second part up this weekend, as a sort of "hey, this diary isn't dead gesture".

vs.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Doomsday_alt03.jpg

Juggernaut
slams headfirst into
Doomsday
boney chest, knocking the monster off balance and onto his back.
Marko
pushes the attack, using his massive foot to try to stomp on
Doomsday's
face...

The stomp is unsuccessful, however, as
Doomsday
catches his foot.

A struggle occurs, with
Juggernaut
struggling to push his foot down, while
Doomsday
pushes upward with his arms. The contest is short, however, as
Doomsday
overpowers
Juggernaut
and flips him over.

Somewhat awkwardly,
Juggernaut
struggles to his feet.
Doomsday
, pushed forward with an urge to destroy, marches toward the
Juggernaut
and is met with a massive right hand to the face.
Juggernaut
throws another pair of wild haymakers, both connecting with
Doomsday's
over-sized noggin.

Much to
Juggernaut's
surprise,
Doomsday
doesn't flinch. Instead, he counters with a left to
Juggernaut's
head, which drops
Marko
on his back.
Juggernaut
immediately sits up, but is drilled with an impressive sidekick, which sends
Juggeranut
bouncing 300 yards away.

Doomsday's
head nods with each bounce that
Juggernaut's
body makes, as if pleased with his handiwork.

After tumbling for a good distance,
Juggernaut
jumps to his feet.
“I'm the freakin' Juggernaut! You can't stop me!”
immediately, he charges toward
Doomsday
.

Again,
Juggernaut
slams into
Doomsday
. This time, however,
Doomsday
stands his ground, and the massive combatants engage in a short Greco-Roman style clinch. The struggle is short-lived, however, as
Doomsday
again proves to be physically superior, and soon he lands a series of three short punches and massive (and boney) elbow to
Juggernaut's
protected head.

For a moment,
Marko
is stunned. He shakes this off and fights back, slamming a massive left uppercut into
Doomsday's
chin, and a thunderous right hand to his body.
Doomsday
makes a small grunting noise, his body acknowledge the force behind attack, before responding.

His counter-attack is devastating, as he punches
Juggernaut
no less than 20 times in the head and body.
Juggernaut
fights back and lands a good number of punches on his own, but as the melee continues, his punches are thrown and connect less and less often, while
Doomsday's
success rate seems to multiplicatively increase. In the end,
Juggernaut
is still conscious, but is clearly disoriented and is stumbling about on his hands and knees.

Doomsday
twists head, confused that his opponent is still alive. Thinking the situation through (in very slow, basic thoughts), he then attempts to yank
Juggernaut's
helmet off.

He strains...

...

and strains...

...

and strains...

And then gives up.
“RAArrrarGGGH!”
.
Doomsday
flings
Juggernaut
, by his helmet, deep into the city of Metropolis. In the distance,
Juggernaut's
body goes through a nearby building, causing to collapse.

Satisfied with his attack,
Doomsday
stares at the city. Slowly, he remembers his mission. He starts marching toward Metropolis, intent on finding
Superman
.

Result: Doomsday defeated Juggernaut

Wolverine
smirks as he watches
Juggernaut
fly across the sky and into the city. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Of course, now he had to figure out some way to deal with this other monster. And the fact that this massive DC'er just dispatched of
Juggernaut
and made it look easy... well, that didn't bode well. Didn't matter, though.
Wolverine
couldn't just sit by, while
Doomsday
destroys the city.

With incredible stealth,
Wolverine
creeps to within 20 feet of
Doomsday
.

“I warned you, Stan. Involving the Sorceror Supreme was a mistake, Mr. Lee. A mistake you will now pay for!”

Stan Lee
turned around, immediately aware of the identity of the presence in his work room. How did he not recognize him before!
“You are not wel..”

The intruder, covered in shadows, unleashes a dark blast on
Lee
. A popping noise is heard, as
Lee
disappears into nothingness.

A cloaked figure emerges from the shadows, with all of his identifiable features covered. The figure opens
Stan's
desk.
“As I suspected.”

The figure produces a small image from the desk. The picture shows a glove, covered by multi-colored gems. A sticky-note is attached to the picture. The note appears to be a list of names.
“Alucard,”
the figures says aloud,
“I have need of your services.”

vs.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Superman.jpg

The Man of Steel
bolts forward, slamming into the
Incredible Hulk
and knocking him over.
Superman
pushes his attack, driving a flying punch to the green behemoth's face, knocking the
Hulk
over, onto his back. Quickly,
Superman
sprints forward, grabs the
Hulk
the foots, spins him around, and slams into a nearby bus. He pauses and watches, silently hoping that the
Hulk
was defeated.

The Hulk
powers out of the bus, quickly ripping apart the metal and glass.
“HULK HATES STUPID CAPEMAN!”

Kal-El
sighs, then attacks again, unleashing a massive heat blast from his eyes. The attack connects with
Hulk's
shoulder, forcing him to turn to his side. Quickly,
Hulk
grabs an errant piece of scrap metal in-front of him, blocking the blast. With his other hand, he grabs an oversized bus tire, and flings it towards his opponent.

The wheel connects with
Superman's
head, snapping his neck back and forcing his eye blast to destroy segments of three nearby buildings. The rubber on the tire, of course, had little potential harm
Kal-El
. The force with which it was thrown, however, gave him a nearly immediate headache.
The Hulk
leaps forward and attempts to smash
Superman
with a massive downward arching double fist slam.
Superman
expertly dodges the attack, then leaps forward, connecting with a right cross. The blow forces the
Hulk
to stumble backwards.

Against his better judgement,
Superman
pushes the attack, forcing the
Hulk
into a melee. With his super speed and a non-enraged thought process,
Superman
is able to get the better of his gamma-powered foe, connecting with a series of powerful punches, while avoiding a series of equally powerful haymakers and windmill punches. Finally,
Superman
loads up with a double axhandle blow and slams his fists across the
Hulk's
chin, driving the green Marvel beast directly through a row 10 buildings.

Superman
sighs. It's finished. Now, for
Doomsday
.

...

Things are never that easy.

...

A destructive noise is heard in the distance and soon...

“HULK IS THE STRONGEST THERE IS!!!”

The
Hulk
lands next to
Superman
, missing with a massive downward right, but connecting with the ground, causing a massive shockwave, which results in
Kal-El
loses his balance. Being off-balance has its costs, however, as
Superman's
face soon meets a massive green fist. The blow sends the
Man of Steel
barreling down and into a nearby car.

Unlike
Superman
, the
Hulk's
rage filled persona forces him to push the attack. Instantly, he leaps into the air and directly on-top of
The Man of Steel
. Using a modified mount, he unloads with a series of rights and lefts.
“HULK SMASH!”

The attack hurts
Superman
. His face is bloody and bruised, his vision is blurry, and his thought-process is confused and out of his control. Soon, he finds himself held up by his cape.
“HULK SMASH STUPID CAPEMAN!!!”

Winding up like a major league pitcher,
The Hulk
slams a massive, full force, right hand into
Superman's
head, literally launching
The Man of Steel
out of the city.

Feeling victorious, the
Hulk
roars, not unlike a dominant animal marking its territory.

...

...

...

Superman
slams into a nearby hill. The impact awakes him, suggesting that the
Hulk
had knocked him unconscious.
Kal-El
knew he was hurt. He understood that the clawed mutant had inflicted some serious damage on him. But he thought he had healed enough... apparently, he was wrong. Apparently,
something
was wrong. With him? With the world? He didn't know and frankly, didn't have time to figure it out right now.

Crawling on the ground,
Superman
grabs his nose.

*crack*

His eyes water, as he snaps his nose back into place. With blood dripping from his face,
Superman
knows that he can't beat the
Hulk
. Not in his condition. And not in a direct melee.

It was time for extreme measures.

Superman
flies back into the city, somewhat sluggishly, and grabs the unsuspecting
Hulk
from behind in a bearhug. He then darts into the sky, seeking to expose the
Hulk
to not only the thin atmosphere above, but the harsh lifeless realities of space.

He doesn't make it, however, as
the Hulk
breaks free from his grip, just as the pair reach 10,000 feet above the ground. Immediately, the
Hulk
starts to fall towards earth.

Superman
darts down to grab him. He knows that this is his only chance...

*crunch!*

The Hulk
catches hand and pulls him forward, slamming a massive knee into
Kal-El's
nose, as the combatants spin in midair. The blow renders
Superman
unconscious.

The duo quickly reach terminal velocity. And then they slam into the heart of Metropolis, the impact of their fall causing the ground to ripple and glass to shatter.

All is silent. But only for a moment.

The Hulk
emerges, enraged.
“HULK SMASH STUPID CAPEMAN! HULK SMASH STUPID CITY!”

Result: The Incredible Hulk defeated Superman

Rogue
floats above New York City. She knew that there would be a price to pay for once again taking
Ms. Marvel's
powers, but she couldn't think about that now. Below,
Apocalypse
and some unknown DC'er were engaging her friends
Cyclops
and
Jean Grey
.

She takes a nose-dive, entering the fray...

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Cyclops_alt03.jpghttp://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/JeanGrey_alt01.jpg

Apocalypse
has transmutated his fist into a flat metallic shield, and is busily defecting
Cyclops'
optic blast.
Jean Grey
is pushing the attack on the zombie-like
Martian Manhunter
by flinging an assortment of items at him telekinetically. With a twisted look on his face,
Manhunter
uses the Black Power Ring to blast each object away.

For a moment then, the combat appears to have reached a stalemate.

Rogue
then drops into the scene, slamming her shoulder into
Apocalypse's
upper chest and face, knocking the mammoth and ancient mutant off his feet and onto the ground.

Cyclops
, a master at group combat, seizes this opportunity to shift from attacking
Apocalypse
to attacking
Martian Manhunter
, and clips the unsuspecting ring bearer with a blast to the hip.

The X-Men
, fully aware of the dangers of their opponent, press on with the attack.
Jean
strains and slams a car into
Manhunter's
back, forcing forward and off balance.
Cyclops
then unleashes with a full strength optic blast, largely disintegrating the car and seemingly incapacitating
Martian Manhunter
.

Meanwhile,
Rogue
removes her glove and jumps on top of
Apocalypse
. She knows that this won't be a pleasant experience, but also knows that is their only chance... No!

Apocalypse
catches
Rogue
by the arm and forces her bare hand away from his face.
“Insects.”

He unloads with a closed-fisted backhand to
Rogue's
side. The blow is substantial and, had she not absorbed
Ms. Marvel's
powers, would have likely been fatal, as she is sent flying down the street.

Jean
catches her with her telekinesis, narrowly preventing
Rogue
from slamming into an occupied police cruiser down the street.
Cyclops
turns his head and blasts
Apocalypse
again, knocking the massive mutant off guard.

Before he can blast again, however, a beam of dark energy flows into his torso, knocking
Scott
down. He screams in pain, as the energy seems to rip apart at his insides.
Rogue
springs back into action, flying low to the ground, aiming to retrieve
Cyclops
.

She is met with an extended transmutated fist to the chin and a Black Power Ring blast to the side. The impact drops her from the sky and she is instantly unconscious.

Frantic,
Jean
unleashes a two-pronged telekinetic attack, forcing
Apocalypse
and
Martian Manhunter
back with telekinetic blasts. She then floats to
Cyclops
and
Rogue
and scans them. They will be okay, but only if she can get them out of here.

Seconds later,
Apocalypse
and
Martian Manhunter
set upon her, attacking with blasts of energy.
Jean
strains, but is able to use her telekinesis to defend against each shield. The attacks, however, are unrelenting. An orange shimmer appears in her eye, as she begins to feel more and more hopeless...

“Enough.”

A series of police cruisers zip through the sky, absolutely burying
Apocalypse
and
Martian Manhunter
.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Magneto.jpg

The Master of Magnesticm
floats to the ground, landing in-front of the nearly depleted
Jean Grey
.

Seconds later,
Apocalypse
bursts through the pile of cars, followed by
Martian Manhunter
.

“To your feet, X-Men.”
Magneto commands his former enemies, as he stares off against their foes. Slowly,
The X-Men
struggle to their feet. Even
Emma Frost
, dispatched last issue, runs back into the fray, immediately helping
Jean
to her feet.

Apocalypse
shakes his head, as he stares
Magneto
.
“You will pay for involving yourself in my plans, Magneto. Manhunter, I grow weary of this contest. You can come with me or you can square off against these
X-Men
. The choice... is yours.”

A mystic portal appears behind
Apocalypse
. Without another word, he turns and steps through it.

Martian Manhunter
pauses. He stares at the
X-Men
, then at the portal. He doesn't understand the world. He doesn't understand what he's become. And he doesn't seem to have a choice, for this group of
“X-Men”
look to be aching for a fight.

And so
Martian Manhunter
jumps through the portal.

Also, wanted to respond to DJ. It really kind of made my day when you responded to my diary, as I've always enjoyed your presence on these boards (in terms of your work on DOTT for 2008, your general comments, and as a great mafia player and mod)

Great job, and I am probably going to be reading on. I have to figure out who that is that Apocolypse is answering to. I don't know why I can't shrug the feeling of it being that Marvel version of Superman though (name escapes me).

So - the Catwoman II thing is pretty much just me applying a Catwoman I like personality to her. I'm not really familiar with II and can't actually hire her (due to owner restrictions)... so I just made up some spiel about her having personality shifts associated with Holly becoming Catwoman II.

Punisher, unfortuantely, is signed with M-UNIT. I have a working agreement with them, so he could appear in the future.

You are right though - I am not super-familiar with all of the main characters. I've been spending some time in my comic book stash, watching Saturday morning cartoons, and spending some time at the local comic book store to get a bit of extra information. For now, I'm trying to focus on the characters I know best and just trying to get the important parts across for the characters that I don't know as well.

I could respond to the whole post, but it's kind of late and my brain says sleep. Overall though, I just wanted to say thanks for the comments and feedback. I definitely appreciate it and am happy to have you reading.

"multiplicatively"! This diary not only entertains, but even manages to teach me new words :)

The Hulk/Superman fight was mighty epic (you even had me thinking Supes was gonna win it at one stage), and as for Magneto? Oh shi-

I also liked how the PPV is being held in the Gotham Auditorium. Pure luck, or planned awesomeness?

vs.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/BlackCanary.jpghttp://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Huntress.jpg

The Huntress
thrusts her spear at
Spider-Man
. Simultaneously,
Black Canary
attacks, throwing a hick kick at the back of the
Webslinger's
head.
Spidey's
spider-sense activates and he leaps into the air, jumping over the spear and arching under the kick.

*thwip, thwip*

Spider-Man
shoots webbing from each hand. The first shot of webbing connects with
Huntress
, covering her eyes.
Black Canary
expertly dodges the other attack by diving to the ground, does a break-dancing like Capoeira spin on the ground and drives the back of her foot into
Spidey's
back.

As
Huntress
claws and peels at the webbing,
Black Canary
continues to attack
Spider-Man
. It is quickly apparent that she is a technically superior fighter, but it is also equally apparent that her fighting prowess cannot make up for
Parker's
superhuman agility and reflexes, as he deftly dodges each attack. Taking advantage of his physical superiority,
Spider Man
leaps onto the side of a nearby wall, effectively out of the reach of
Black Canary
.

“Ladies, ladies! Can't we talk?”

Still blinded, the
Huntress
produces a dart and whips it in the direction of
Spider-Man's
voice. He dodges the dart, which otherwise, would have connected directly with his neck.
“Guess not.”
The dodge forces him to land on the ground, where
Black Canary
slams a palm thrust into
Spider-Man's
right shoulder.
“Ouch!”

Spidey
quickly shoves
Canary
away with his left hand, forcing her onto the ground, while he shakes his right arm, which is numb from her attack.
Black Canary
expertly springs to her feet and is joined by a now visually unimpaired
Huntress
.

Birds of Prey
spring forward, successfully dodging a stream of web-blasts and attack
Spider-Man
. Again,
Spider-Man
is able to dodge
Canary's
kick, but takes a flying elbow to the head from
Huntress
. The blow forces him off balance, and seconds later, the
Birds of Prey
connect with a series of vicious punches, kicks, chops, knee, and elbow strikes, quickly battering and disorienting the
Webslinger
.

Running completely on instinct,
Spider-Man
dodges an impossible sequence of attacks and rolls forward. On his hands and knees, he points his arm upward, hoping to use his webbing to escape.
The Birds
are immediately on him again. With no other choice,
Spider-Man
finally fights back, catching
Black Canary's
hand and flinging her to the side and grabbing
The Huntress
by her belt, and tossing her to the side.

Both women collide with the ground rather harshly, apparently surprised by their opponents super-strength.

Still on his knees,
Spider-Man
again tries to escape.

*thwip*

...

*ka-chunk!*

Huntress
cuts his webbing half again, this time utilizing her collapsible crossbow.

How frustrating. Turning his attention to
Huntress
...

*twhip*

Another shot of webbing connects with the crossbow.
Spider-Man
yanks forward, attempting to pull the weapon from
Helena's
hands. Stubbornly, she holds onto the crossbow and is pulled forward. Frustrated,
Spider-Man
pulls her close and trips her to the ground, before forcibly yanking the bow from her hands. Meanwhile,
Black Canary
leaps onto his back, locking in a rear naked choke.
Spider-Man
responds quickly by flipping her over and on-top of
Huntress
.

Exhausted,
Spider-Man
falls backwards.
“So... call this one a draw?”

Without responding,
The Birds of Prey
stand up and start circling. The women exchange a quick nod, which sets off
Parker's
spider-sense.

Black Canary
opens her mouth and...

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/CatwomanII_alt01.jpg

Catwoman II
leaps into the scene from atop a nearby building, slamming on
Black Canary's
back. The impact drives her forward, knocking the front of her head into the ground, rendering her immediately unconscious. Infuriated,
The Huntress
leaps forward to attack
Catwoman
...

*thwip, thwip!*

But is quickly fastened to a wall by two thick streams of webbing.

Catwoman II
stands up, turns around and jumps into
Spider-Man's
arms, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist.

Awkwardly,
Spider-Man
stumbles backwards and quickly finds his back pressed against a wall.
Catwoman
leans forward and places her lips within a centimeter of his.
“Um”
is the best response that
Parker
can produce.

Smiling,
Catwoman
drops her legs back to the ground and runs her finger along
Spider-Man's
chin. She turns around seductively and walks away, swaying her hips as she exits.
“Looks like you owe me one, sexy. I'll be collecting on that.
Soon
.”

Oh boy.

The DC Speedsters refuse to freeze. Predictably,
Iron Patriot
responds with a pair of repulsor blasts, which the
Flash
and
Zoom
handily dodge. This does not deter
Osborn
, as he continues to fire blasts at the speedsters, quickly destroying a variety of nearby structures and damaging others.

Zoom
, concentrating on dodging the armored Marvelite's blasts, which incidently seem to be getting closer and closer, is unable to stop himself as
Venom
drops directly in-front of him. Out of control, he barrels into
Venom
, and the pair tumble onto the ground.

With
Venom
occupying the
Zoom
,
Iron Patriot
focuses on the
Flash
. His targeting computer is already compensating for the speed of his target. With both repulsors focused on him, it'll be just a matter of time before he disables the
Flash
.

The close combat affair between
Zoom
and
Venom
is decidedly one-sided, as
Venom
uses his inhuman strength to hold
Zoom
still, while barraging him with headbutts and shoulder thrusts.

The repulsor blasts are now missing by less than 1/100's of a second. Soon... What the? What the
Flash
doing?

The blasts are too close. This isn't working.
Flash
runs up the side of a building and dives backwards, backflipping and landing on the flying armored warrior. With superhuman speed, he unleashes no less than 50 punches in 3 seconds. The attack catches
Iron Patriot
off guard, sending him flying into a nearby post.

Of course, punching metal at a superhuman speed hurts your hands. And so does dropping to the ground. As luck would have it, however,
Flash
lands on
Venom's
back, giving
Zoom
a much needed reprieve from the beating he was receiving.

Injured, the DC Speedsters scramble to their feet and run in the same direction, producing a flight so well coordinated that one might think
The Flash
and
Zoom
were long-time allies. Their retreat is short-lived, however, as...

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/MsMarvelMoon.jpg

The Fake Ms. Marvel
unleashes a pair of laser blasts, expertly tagging each Speedster in the torso, forcing them off balance and bouncing down the street.

Humiliated from her previous fight with
Ms. Marvel
,
Karla
blasts the speedsters again, as if punishing them will make her previous defeat any less real.

Soon,
Venom
and the
Iron Patriot
join the scene, surrounding
Flash
and
Zoom
. Things do not look good for the DC Speedsters, until...

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/MsMarvel_alt04.jpg

The original
Ms. Marvel
flies into the scene, slamming a superhuman fist into
Iron Patriot's
armored head and attacking (and missing)
Venom
with a concussion blast. Distractedly,
Ms. Marvel
stares at her counterpart.

In truth, she'd much rather be chasing down
Rogue
. But these
“Dark Avengers”
... well...they... they also have it coming.

Looking up, the DC Speedsters are surprised to find a Marvelite assisting them against
Iron Patriot
and his goons.
Zoom
prepares to run off, when he is grabbed on the wrist by
The Flash
.
“We have to help her.“

Zoom
shakes his head no and tries to yank his arm away.
Wally
holds tight to his grip. The DC Speedsters stare at each other for a moment. Finally,
Zoom
gives in.
“Fine.”

Above, the fight has already commenced, with
Ms. Marvel
narrowly dodging a swinging attack from
Venom
and blasting in the general direciton of her now intangible counterpart.

Result: Iron Patriot, Venom, & Fake Ms. Marvel defeat Zoom & Flashiness

Iron Man
flies through the hole in his facility.
Metallo
is 1000 feet below him, obviously in rough shape from the fall. For a moment,
Stark
considers flying below to apprehend the DC robot. Soon, however, his building's security forces appear and surround the robot. This frees him to pursue the other DC'ers.

Swiftly,
Iron Man
shoots up and around his building. The hot DC'er and the brute have made a mess of the nearby area. No sign of either them, from here.
Iron Man
drops low to the ground. His targeting camera soon detects a large brute, leaping from the ground and into the air.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Bizarro.jpg

Immediately,
Stark
fires up his boots and pursues
Bizarro
. The chase is short-however, as he soon collides with a lamp post. The massive impact sends
Iron Man
slamming into the ground, which sends his metallic frame bouncing down a recently evacuated street.

His head throbbing,
Stark
stands up and looks around. The DC woman was down the street, holding the twisted remains of the lamp post in her hands.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/WonderWoman_alt03.jpg

Wonder Woman
bursts forward, running as fast as she can (which, mind you, is superhumanly fast) and charges
Iron Man
. She's on him in a matter of seconds and quickly slams the lamp post over his metallic head again, dropping
Stark
to the ground. She then discards the unrecognizable lamp post and leaps forward, landing near her foe.
“You will leave Bizarro alone, misogynist! ”

Standing over him,
Wonder Woman
delivers a super-powered punch to
Iron Man's
head. Before she can strike again, he pushes her off with his leg, forcing the Amazonian to the ground.
“Who are you calling a misogynist, lady?”

Iron Man
quickly scrambles to his feet and is quickly engaged by
Wonder Woman
.
Wonder Woman
pushes the action, slamming her right forearm into
Iron Man's
chest, knocking him off balance, before delivering a crushing knee to his head, which literally lifts him off the ground and onto a nearby car (which flattens under the combination of his weight and downward acceleration).

Angrily,
Wonder Woman
marches toward
Iron Man
. She grabs him by the left-arm, but is stopped from attacking by a well-placed repulsor blast to the stomach from his right arm. The blast stuns
Wonder Woman
, who relinquishes her hold as she falls to the ground behind her.

His head ringing,
Stark
sits up. A 50% repulsor blast seemed to do the trick, but he already had the targeting computer working on a more permanent solution for this incredibly attractive DC problem. Still, he'd try diplomacy first.

“Care to surrender?”
Iron Man
says, as he stands up and points both of his palms at the attractive DC'er.

“Surrender?”
Wonder Woman
jumps up and slams a massive uppercut into
Iron Man's
chin, knocking him again off the ground and again onto the already flattened car.
“Never! And not to the likes of you!”

She leaps toward the fallen
Iron Man
. This time, however, he anticipates her attack and quickly rolls out of the way. He then flies above her before and unleashes a pair of 50% repulsor blasts to her back and shoulders. The attack buckles
Wonder Woman's
knees, but doesn't force her to the ground.
“What do you mean, 'someone like me'?”

Diana
reaches down, tears the mangled hood off of the car and flings it upward like a frisbee. It glances off of
Iron Man's
side, knocking him slightly off course, but doing little damage.
“I mean a pathetic woman hater!”
Angrily,
Wonder Woman
leaps off the ground.
Iron Man
attempts to fly away from her reach, but is unable to move quickly enough, as
Wonder Woman's
hand wraps around his calf.

With impressive strength, she swings herself up, wrapping her legs around his torso. Under normal conditions,
Stark
would be quite satisfied with arrangement. These aren't normal conditions, however, as
Wonder Woman
uses the position as leverage to deliver a series of short punches to the side of his head.

Each punch brings about major static in his visual computer system, which suggests that his armor is in need of serious repairs. Of course, he knew that already, and now the wretched computer was repeatedly reminding him of that fact. Distracted by the computer and by his attempts to use his left-arm to block the incoming punches,
Iron Man
veers off course and flies through a nearby wall.

Wonder Woman
and
Iron Man
awkwardly tumble into some poor old lady's apartment, both surprised by the impact. Quickly,
Wonder Woman
is on her feet.

“You will pay for what you did to Cheetah!”
She throws a wild haymaker, which connects with the top of
Iron Man's
head. Frustrated and worried about his capacity to continue fighting,
Iron Man
grabs her left arm and rears back with his left arm, ready to drive a metallic fist in her face.
“That's it! No more holding... wait? Who is Cheetah?”

Iron Man
holds off his attack, as
Wonder Woman
pauses. She thinks for a moment.

“Do you know a man by the name of Loki?”

Stark
sighs inside of his suit, as he releases her arm. He nods his metallic head. Instantly, both seem to understand what has transpired.

Result: Wonder Woman & Iron Man drew

Psylocke
falls to the ground. She lies there for a moment, unable to think. Blood trickles from her nose.

Slowly, her eyes come to focus. She looks around. Instantly, she realizes that she's in the X-Masnion.

Even more slowly, her thoughts become coherent. She remembers the past. The future.

She doesn't have much time! She scans the area. The
X-Men
aren't here.

vs.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x92/d_w_w/Bane.jpg

Bane
charges forward and utilizes a professional wrestling move, as he double clotheslines
Daredevil
and
Batman
. He reaches down, grabbing each man by the throat and yanks them into the air. As if they were acting in unison,
Batman
and
Daredevil
strike out at
Bane
,
Batman
delivering a kick to the throat, while
Daredevil
slams his Billy Club into
Bane's
temple. The combined attack is devastating, even to the venom-enraged
Bane
, who drop to the ground.

Daredevil
and
Batman
also drop to the ground.
The Man Without Fear
coughs and rubs his throat, trying to regain his breath.
Batman's
armor proves to be an advantage, however, as he still has his breath.

From the ground,
Batman
delivers a thrust kick to
Daredevil's
side. Quickly,
Batman
springs to his feet and a delivers a jumping side-kick to
Bane's
face, just as the beast reached his feet again. Looking to make this contest short,
Batman
produces a batarang and hurls it at
Daredevil
.

Murdock's
radar like senses pick up the incoming object. He rolls forward, dodging the attack, and landing on his feet.
Batman
leaps forward and tries to use a flying sidekick on
Daredevil
. Apparently, there is a limit on how often the same attack will be successful in a given night, as
Daredevil
moves his head out of the way and hooks the end of his Billy Club around
Batman's
ankle. He then pulls up, forcing
Batman
to land on his back, directly in-front of
Daredevil
.

With a good deal of intensity,
Daredevil
leans over and slams a fist into
Batman's
face. He is unable to pursue the attack, however, as
Bane
reenters the fray and grabs
Daredevil
from behind.

Bane
squeezes and squeezes, forcing the air out of
Daredevil's
lungs. Then,
Bane
adds to the damage potential of the bearhug by jerking the smaller
Daredevil
about in his arms, before flinging him into the wall. Stunned,
Daredevil
slides down the wall, as if in slow-motion.
Bane
steals a glance at
Daredevil
, before marching toward
Batman
.

First, he'd break the bat, then the devil. Reaching down,
Bane
pulls
Batman
to his feet by his cape.
Batman
, apparently playing possum, reacts quickly, driving a hard kick to
Bane's
groin. The attack forces
Bane
to bend over, where he is quickly introduced to a stiff knee to the face.
The Dark Knight
then spins around, slamming a beautiful spinkick into the side of
Bane's
jaw, knocking his muscle-bound foe to the ground.

*thunk*

A segment of the Billy Club strikes
Batman
in the back of the head, immediately causing his eyes to water and his vision to blur.
Daredevil
springs forward, and again, the Marvel and DC vigilantes engage in melee. This time,
Daredevil
gets the better of the exchange, landing several short punches to
Batman's
stomach, before driving the point of his elbow into
Wayne's
nose.
Daredevil
completes the segment with a hip toss, flipping
Batman
over and...

...

Into
Bane's
arms.
Bane
smiles and instantly powers
Batman
up and slams him down, driving
The Dark Knight's
back across his knee.

In a split second,
Batman's
life flashes before his eyes. Is his.... is his... is his back broken?

A stiff left-hand from
Daredevil
catches
Bane
in the eye. Like a caveman with a consumed turkey leg,
Bane
tosses
Batman
to the side, just as he receives a side-kick to the stomach.
Bane
now turns to face
Daredevil
, throwing a massive haymaker at the red hero. Predictably,
Daredevil
dodges the punch, then drops to the ground and slams the bottom of his foot into
Bane's
knee.

He can feel his legs.

The kick forces
Bane's
leg out from under him. This doesn't stop him, however, from grabbing
Daredevil's
arm and pulling him close.
Daredevil
responds like Steven Segal, connecting with no less than a dozen short punches and chops to
Bane's
face, neck, and arm.

He can feel his legs!

The attack doesn't stop
Bane
who pulls
Daredevil
closer.
Bane
snarls, then slams his head into
Daredevil's
. And again! And again!

Batman
lets out a sigh of relief.
Bane
either was slightly off with the backbreaker or isn't on his usual level of venom. Either way, he's still in this fight.

Another headbutt slams into
Daredevil's
face.
Murdock
, despite suffering a good deal of head trauma, is fully aware of the severity of his situation. He needed to get away from the headbutts, or it was lights out.

Bane
rolls
Daredevil
over, fully mounting him. He smiles, as he measures
The Man Without Fear
for another head butt.

*CRUNCH!*

Just as
Bane
drives head down,
Daredevil
slides out of the way, slipping another segment of his Billy Club in
Bane's
way, resulting in
Bane
headbutting the butt of the Billy Club directly into the asphalt. The impact, centered over the small end of the Billy Club, is staggering and quickly renders
Bane
unconscious. For a moment, his head rests on the vertically positioned Billy Club, before sliding off and flopping to the ground.

Slowly, an exhausted and disorented
Daredevil
rolls
Bane
off of him. Just as he struggles to his feet his feet, a stiff chop connects with his neck. The blow is precise and the already exerted
Daredevil
drops to the ground instantly.

Batman
stands over his opponents: tired and sore, yet victorious.

Result: Batman defeated Bane and Daredevil

Alucard
floats downward, landing atop the X-Mansion. He was told that the one known as
Xavier
had one of the gems. With unnerving speed,
Alucard
darts through a nearby window and enters the building. He searches the building, looking for the gem-holder.

As he darts through the building, opening door after door, he comes upon a lone woman, sitting on her knees in a long hallway. As far as he can tell, the building's sole occupant.

“Where is Xavier?”

Slowly, and with a deadly look on her face,
Psylocke
turns to face the ancient vampire. A psionic knife grows out of her hand.

Alucard
smiles. How interesting.

That was fun. :)

Here's where things stand:

I'm going to take a week or so off of writing to recharge and focus my plans.

I'll likely post the preview for the next card sometime later this week or next weekend.

I am, finally, caught up writing-wise with where I am in the game. I'm debating changing things up a bit, as the writing, while enjoyable, is fairly time consuming. This first month of cards, for example, takes up 115 pages of open office document, plus another 22 pages of notes / comments / "storyboards" / etc. While fun, I'm preparing to take my comprehensive exams in November of this year and so I can't really afford to spend that much time writing, not now at least.

I'd like to do the following: drop the brand split and change one of the shows to a "B" show and make the other show a 3-hour long A show. Of course, neither television network is happy about that idea, so that's out.

Aside from that, I feel like I have two (not so distinct) options:

1. I can use more summary format for "less important" parts of the cards, as I've been doing for some matches already (see the Heroes for Hire / Mr. Freeze & Captain Cold minifeud).

2. I can decrease the shows to 1.5 or 1 hours.

Anyhow - if anyone has any suggestions or comments, feel free to PM me.

Thanks again for reading all.

Great show (can't wait to see Psylocke vs Alucard), and I can see why it must be time consuming—either brand could be its own individual diary!

Short of any other alternatives popping up, as a reader I'd probably prefer to see option 1 before option 2. Of course, if option two means the diary is likely to stick around for longer I'd go with that :)

I like the recap Idea. to be honest I read every word, but it takes me two days to get through a single show.

going with a shorter write up style, and just high lighting the main event, would be fine.

of cource you can decide how you want to handle PPV's

anything that keeps this alive is awesome. I wish I could send it to marvel and show them what a good cross over looks like.

Okay, ready to get back to business. Going to try to shorten the write-ups a bit and see how things go.

In a bit of game-related news, the B+ pay per view meant MDC2 won the national wars in the US and Canada for October. Yay!

Arc 1: When Continuums Converge - complete.

Arc 2: Enter the Gems - commencing.

Preview of the Spotlight #5

As the dust settles from Secret Wars #1, the DC City of Metropolis hangs in the balance.

Thor vs. Ares

-While Metropolis is rampaged by two seemingly unstoppable forces, a pair of gods look set to engage in petty warfare. The God of Thunder, recently battered and abused by the unlikely duo of Juggernaut and Doomsday, encounters Ares in the suburbs of Metropolis. It goes, without saying, that insurance rates in Metropolis are going way up next month.

Wolverine vs. Doomsday

-After tracking the Juggernaut to Metropolis, Wolverine was surprised to see Xavier's half-brother dispatched by Doomsday with a certain degree of ease. Against his better judgment, Wolverine now looks to engage Doomsday, in a desperate mission to stop the seemingly unstoppable.

Also in this issue: The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, The X-Men, and more!

Aiming for next weekend to post this card.
