I see a draw here to keep both men strong.

Joey Minnesota vs. Wolf Hawkins

Agreed with Beeker: Andrews > Minnesota, so if Hawkins = Andrews, then Hawkins > Minnesota. Unless foul play happens, but the only guy who would intervene on behalf of Joey OR against Wolf is Andrews, and he's not a cheater. So barring a Minnesota win by DQ or a no-contest of some sort, Hawkins has to win. And I feel like TCW usually opens with a clean match.

The Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. The New Wave

Fly Boys are, what, lower-midcard? Perfect way to get the Wave back to winning.

Jeremy Stone & Sammy Bach vs. Sam Keith & Sean Deeley w/ Blonde Bombshell & Laura Huggins

I feel like Deeley

Edd Stone vs. Frankie Perez vs. Merle O'Curle vs. Teddy Powell (non-title)

Teddy Powell is Teddy Powell, and while O'Curle has looked good lately, let's get real here. I feel like Edd Stone has drifted a little in recent shows, but he doesn't need to remind us he's legitimate. Perez does, so I say he goes over... oh, Powell. I like Merle.

Eric Tyler & Texas Pete w/ Laura Huggins vs. Johnny Bloodstone & Ricky Dale Johnson w/ Blonde Bombshell

Still getting a handle on Texas Pete... he's intriguing, but he hasn't been booked as a main eventer. Meanwhile, Tyler remains a gatekeeper, and while RDJ is perpetually a little overshadowed, both he and Bloodstone are the kind of guys who could plausibly beat anyone.

Troy Tornado vs. ????

Not Bruce yet. But I say Bruce gets involved, and Troy probably wins by DQ.

Rick Law vs. Tommy Cornell

Well, it's Law's show, so he wins. No, wait, what they said.

Joey Minnesota vs. Wolf Hawkins

Fast and furious, this contest shows both fighters to be pretty good, pretty tough, close to evenly matched.

And it's quite the fair fight, too; but it doesn't last long. Minnesota sets up for the Empire Spiral; Hawkins manages to counter out of it and, while doing so, land the Full Moon Rising in a slick transition that'll end up part of the Total Wrestling intro sequence coming into 2009.

That's enough to get the pin.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TroyTornado_nacht6.jpg

Fury of the Storm begins to play and Troy Tornado emerges to a fervent reaction. He comes down to the ring, a slight smile evident, glad-handing a couple of the fans before collecting a microphone and rolling into the ring.

“I need to take a moment here,” he says. “I need to take a moment to talk about Jack Bruce.

“Jack, we've both done wrong as far as the band goes at one time or another. But hell, this ain't the way to get back to it.

“And you've got an issue with me – well, I say, OK, let's deal with that. Right here...” His finger jabs downaward at the ring. “Right now. I asked for a little time to teach you the lesson you're asking for. Let's do it.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JackBruce_alt8.jpg

Bruce appears on the entrance ramp, and smirks. “Not gonna happen,” he says. “I'm Jack Bruce! I perform when it's Showtime, Troy. Not when it ain't worth it.

“And on free TV, it ain't worth it. You and I lock up when the fans have to pay for it. No sooner.

“But if you've got some free time...” He grins. “I'm sure someone from back here'll be willing to take you on. So I guess you get to see them soon... don'tcha?”

The Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. The New Wave

This may be the best performance the Boys have given since their return to TCW. Arguably, it may be the best performance of their careers to date. But the New Wave have a tendency to draw that from their opponents.

Donnie and Jimmy both push themselves to the limit, forcing the New Wave to take them very seriously. After their rocky start, the two are back to the team of old, synchronised, hitting stereo moves with flawless timing, constantly pulling out unusual moves, challenging their opponents' expectations.

It's great stuff; but Guide is lust a little too strong, and Jimmy P eats the Wave of Mutilation to be pinned.

Jeremy Stone & Sammy Bach vs. Sam Keith & Sean Deeley w/ Blonde Bombshell & Laura Huggins

“Age and veteran instinct,” Dangerous begins. “An incredible title pedigree. A young man with an incredible gift for the sport and exposure to the very best.”

“Which team are you talking about?” Azaria asks. Dangerous laughs, and Azaria joins in. “I know,” he says. “This is going to be magnificent.”

That's probably the best word for it; all four men show everything they're capable of, and the pendulum swings both ways on a number of occasions – but as Stone charges toward the end, Deeley and Keith combine into a double backdrop and Deeley charges Bach, taking him to the floor as Sam Keith locks down the Proton Lock.

As good as Stone is, in the end, he has to submit. A replay shows Laura Huggins' hand around Bach's ankle while Deeley and Keith took out his tag partner...

Rick Law comes out next, and walking by his side, wild-eyed, is Chris Rockwell. Law, as ever, takes the time on the way down to play to the crowd, who love him for it as ever. “My man,” he begins, once in the ring, “Chris here... My man Chris has not been having a good time of things lately. Hell, last few years, you could argue.

“But he's having trouble, and I kinda believe it's worth respecting someone you grew up watching – and I watched Chris Rockwell as a kid. I saw him take on Pistol Pete Hall, Rich Money, anyone who got in his way, trying to prove a point – and he proved it, all right. And that helped me decide what I wanted to do with my life.

“Now, Chris had a bad few years, like I say, and the man who stood up and made himself the biggest challenge in any promotion is hiding. But I believe he's still in there. I believe-”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/PhilVibert.jpg

“Let me do you a favour,” comes Phil Vibert's voice in that famous old catchphrase, the sound over the arena speakers.

“Let me do you a favour, Rick. Let me dissolve this partnership before it drags you down.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Remo.jpg

Law and Rockwell get blindsided a moment later as Remo hits them while distracted. It's brutal, and it's what the fans see as we go to commercial.

Edd Stone vs. Frankie Perez vs. Merle O'Curle vs. Teddy Powell

It'd be hard to say that these four put in any less effort than the four before them. But what a difference a little renown can make to how well the fans react...

They keep it fast and they keep it loose. Merle O'Curle CAN'T POWERBOMB EDD STONE and Teddy Powell can kick anyone he damn well feels like just as hard as he feels like – but so can Frankie Perez, and the P-Dawg has other talents, too.

Powell arguably looks like the greatest threat in the match, taking out Stone and Perez with the same slingshot at one point, but in the end, Frankie nails a yakuza kick and cinches in the P-Clutch to end it.

Johnny Bloodstone & Ricky Dale Johnson w/ Blonde Bombshell

A very different mix of talents involved here, but it can't be denied – the crowd respond just as well, and Johnson reacts to Pete's assault as if he were being beaten down by anyone else – Tyson Baine, maybe. The power Pete appears to have is shocking, and his speed is remarkable for a big man.

It's worth watching Huggins and the Bombshell now, so soon after they were on the same side. The interaction is completely different; the Bombshell's sympathy for Huggins when Sean was taking a beating is absent here.

It's Pete who falls, despite his showing; he picks up Bloodstone for the Lone Star Drop and the savvy Canadian falls forward, twists, rolls through – and the Bloodstone Mutilation is applied.

Tyler looks across the ring at the softly smiling RDJ and decides not to try his luck.

The Machines are shown backstage, in the interview room. Behind them, on the big screen, a highlight reel of their greatest moments and slickest moves loops constantly.

Brent and John look at each other for a moment before John shrugs and turns to the camera.

“To become a Machine,” he begins, “Brent and I had to spend years in near obscurity. Honing our talents. Learning new tricks. Waiting for recognition.

“When we came to TCW to make our names, we were...” He tails off, and Hill takes over.

“We were the best wrestlers you'd never heard of,” he says softly, reinforcing the moment with a nod. “The biggest difference is that now, you've heard of us.

“They called us the Machines because it fitted what we are. We are wrestling machines. The complete package, the ultimate all rounder. The man who is a human arsenal of inventive ways to beat you.”

“They gave us that name,” Anderson says, warming to the theme. “They didn't give us the tag team belts. Or this.” He pats his International title. “We earned those. And that's how we showed you how good we could be. How much we deserved the name Machine.

“We have the responsibility, now, to handle that name carefully.”

Hill smiles. “We went out, these last few months, and we found the best wrestler you've never heard of. A submission machine. There are only three ways to end a match against him, and every one of them hurts.

“The name Machine is ours to give now. We don't give it lightly. In months to come, you'll see how much this man has earned the respect we gave him... because he will earn yours.”

Troy Tornado vs. Tyson Baine

It turns out to be the Syndicate's giant in what could have been Jack Bruce's place. And these two go out and have what, ultimately, is the same kind of match they always do; a pretty-well-executed game of power and speed.

Tornado gets the moment of the match when he almost seems to be going for the Tornado Driver on the huge monster, but Baine's just too big – so as he tries to return the favour, Tornado catches him with a spinwheel kick from within his grip.

A Star Maker soon follows and Tornado secures the pin.

Once again, TCW airs a fast-paced montage of the moves and abilities of its incoming, incumbent women's division, with Horatio Dangerous and Jason Azaria detailing the history of the moves and the background the wrestlers come from.

Rick Law vs. Tommy Cornell

Nine days into the year, a match that will be touted as a Match of the Year candidate takes place. Law and Cornell have really hit their stride together, and between the beating sustained by Law earlier and Cornell's brilliant heel work, the story of the match holds the Isaak Road crowd utterly agog.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JungleJack_FIN4.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JulianWatson_FIN.jpg

And then, as the Enforcers make their appearance, it gets nastier. A savage beatdown ensues as Cornell keeps Eugene Williams' attention away from the assault, and Law manages, somehow, to wrestle free, planting Julian Watson with a Squad Car Slam before Jack Marlowe reciprocates, coming from behind with a rake of the eyes to set up the Jackhammer.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/LobsterWarrior_PS.jpg

And then Chris Rockwell is there. Marlowe eats a huge missile dropkick; as Williams turns to see what's going on, Rockwell converts that momentum into a roll forward, staying out of his view, and catches Cornell unprepared with a fisherman suplex. He rolls out of the ring, his eyes - just for a second - focused rather than crazy.

As he leaves, Law calls for the Long Arm of the Law, but Cornell is just savvy enough to stay clear; as Rick turns, Cornell takes him down into the Guilt Trip.

Friday 12th January 2009

“THE MAN OF THE HOUR!” yells Ricky Dale Johnson, and the locker room erupts into cheers. It's my first time seeing this – the first time for a lot of the people here assembled – but everyone starts grinning.

The Man of the Hour is a TCW tradition. I'm told that Rip Chord started it – whenever two people put on a match that really, really blew the boys in the back away (as well as the crowd), both of them were hailed on their arrival at the next show with that cry – and with a bottle of champagne from J.K. Stallings' budget back when this was still HGC, but it was Rip's idea, Rip who sold Stallings on it – and RDJ who kept it going when Tommy took over, by selling Tommy on continuing to splash out on the bubbly.

By common tradition, therefore, when Tommy is one of the Men of the Hour, he doesn't buy himself a bottle; he lets the other participant take centre stage.

This is Rick Law's first time. He takes it well; the smile when he's not got into character is humble, self-effacing. It's almost designed to be the right response, but Law has always been good at that without trying.

No one really expected this, either, so the reaction is bigger. Tommy steps forward with the bottle and Law accepts with a bashful grin; Sam Keith leads the applause.

And then Tommy plays the card that really shows why TCW feels like a family. He calls over Jack Marlowe, Julian Watson, Chris Rockwell – the three men who interfered.

Three more bottles of champagne get passed out, and Keith leads the applause once again as Ricky closes in to clap them on the back. The mood is pretty good, all told, as the tradition comes back; it's a reminder that these things do happen, these magical matches occur, and that when they do, those involved are rewarded – out of the owner's pocket.

That helps to keep them coming, and so far, 2009 has been good to us with them. We can hope for that to continue – or we can directly encourage it.

We got Promotion of the Year in last year's PWA poll. I want to nail a few more awards at the end of 2009 – because the more people are looking at us, the more money we all stand to make.

The Elite Express have a fearsome reputation and, in the Precision Driller, an even more fearsome offensive move. The Keith Brothers have talent and youth on their side. Both teams clash this coming Friday in what's sure to be a hell of a match. Can the Express reassert themselves with a victory to prove their pedigree?

American Eagle is rapidly establishing a reputation within the company as the determined giant hunter, and as he gets ready to take on Texas Pete, that reputation is about to get another outing. The Eagle seems to soar like almost no one else, but will that be enough?

The British Lions join in the tag action, too, taking on the Conquering Kings. Anyone who likes traditional tag wrestling needs to make sure they're in front of the set for this one!

Four-man tag action is scheduled to follow that, as the School of Tradition test KOBRA. On Eric Tyler's side are Freddy Huggins, Joel Bryant, and the unaffiliated addition of Lauren Easter. Koshiro Ino brings with him Team VIPER and Suzanne Brazzle. KOBRA have begun behaving very oddly recently - what's going on, and can it help them get past Eric Tyler, the man who not only knows every trick in the book but wrote half of them?

Aaron Andrews gets an outing of his own against the head of the British contingent - JD Morgan. Andrews has been making waves lately, but Morgan started the year with a blowout performance and, as a former multi-time champion elsewhere, cannot be easily dismissed.

Sam Keith continues to be targeted by the Syndicate. Following their various assaults to date, they've once again arranged for him to be put in the ring opposite an Enforcer, this time Jack Marlowe. This one promises to be intensely painful for both sides - will Marlowe continue the work Watson began on his knee?

And then we come to the main event. This week Rick Law put out an open call sheet at Tuesday's show for "people who want to prove a point." He'll be teaming with the New Wave, who certainly want to make a statement and get back into the title hunt. Their opponents? Acid and Phil Vibert's men - Frankie Perez and Remo Richardson. Which side has bitten off more than they can chew?

Prediction Key:

Elite Express vs. Keith Brothers w/ Blonde Bombshell

American Eagle vs. Texas Pete

British Lions vs. Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen

Congrats on the A*, PS. Even with TCW, that's a rare enough event it's worth celebrating.

Elite Express vs. Keith Brothers w/ Blonde Bombshell They may call themselves Elite, but they're not worthy of the name yet...

American Eagle vs. Texas Pete Me? Marking for Pete? Can't be...

British Lions vs. Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen I enjoyed your reflection on the tag scene a while back, and I agree it's not quite there yet. I do like that you went outside the obvious candidates when rebuilding, though, as both these teams seem to be improving by the match

Team KOBRA (Koshiro Ino, Team VIPER & Suzanne Brazzle) w/ Baroness Emily vs. School of Tradition (Eric Tyler, Freddy Huggins, Joel Bryant & Lauren Easter) w/ Laura Huggins Would be interesting to see Tyler's take on women wrestling - probably something like "Keep your end up, or feel my boot up your ass. Aaron Andrews vs. JD Morgan Andrews is getting a push. Morgan is just there to make him look better than he is at the moment

Jack Marlowe vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell Synidcate jabroni against the legend. Hmmmm...

Rick Law & the New Wave vs. Acid, Frankie Perez & Remo Richardson w/ Laura Huggins & Phil Vibert Remo kills everyone and wins the Cornellverse. Come on - it's destined to happen one day... A jobber in a suit

Rick Law & the New Wave vs. Acid, Frankie Perez & Remo Richardson w/ Laura Huggins & Phil Vibert

Law is going to follow up his superb performance in the recent Total Wrestling Main Event with a win on HIS show.

Elite Express vs. Keith Brothers w/ Blonde Bombshell

- Why? Because everyone else has gone with the Keiths, also I've always been fond of CGC and since the Express hail from there... I'll give them a wishful vote.

American Eagle vs. Texas Pete

- Texas vs. America! An Eagle vs. a Pete! Pete better win or it's back to farm for him.

British Lions vs. Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen

- Crippler calls in the chit for the suit angle, also the Kings seem to have a bit more momentum.

Team KOBRA (Koshiro Ino, Team VIPER & Suzanne Brazzle) w/ Baroness Emily vs. School of Tradition (Eric Tyler, Freddy Huggins, Joel Bryant & Lauren Easter) w/ Laura Huggins

- A very odd match here, overall I think the School picks up the win... although I can't give a good reason of that pick.

Aaron Andrews vs. JD Morgan

- Double A continues his march up the card.

Jack Marlowe vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

- I like this storyline. Chances are Marlowe gets DQed for focusing on the knee of Keith... further weakening the veteran. Marlowe gets more out of showing his nasty streak than out of a win here.

Rick Law & the New Wave vs. Acid, Frankie Perez & Remo Richardson w/ Laura Huggins & Phil Vibert

- Could go either way, but it's Law's show, more importantly I find it very difficult to vote against the New Wave in a tag team setting.

Elite Express vs. Keith Brothers w/ Blonde Bombshell</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Smart, fast-paced stuff, and the Express, once again, take an established team very close to the limit, if not right to it – a Precision Driller attempt had been narrowly escaped by Greg Keith, and it looks like Nate Johnson wants to try again.</p><p> </p><p>

But just after that, Billy Fonda entered the picture. Greg Keith went flying after a tag title belt got applied to his head; Matthew Keith met a big boot as he came in to avenge his brother. The Brothers get the win through DQ.</p><p>

Pete simply manhandles the Eagle from beginning to end, though the Eagle does get some good moves in from time to time. Sam Keith appears on the entrance ramp just after the match ends, looking at Pete, nodding. The big Texan returns his gaze with a stare, the pair holding it for a long moment. </p><p> </p><p>

Keith raises a microphone to his mouth. “I'm busy at the moment,” he says. “Tommy still wants me out of the company. I think I'm going to have to bring matters to a head on that soon. But I'm also the Hard Hitting Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

“Son, I've had two go-rounds with Sammy Bach. One of them ended because of you. But then, he ended your chance to get one with me before that happened.</p><p> </p><p>

“It seems to me there's only one way we're going to sort this out. And as the champion, I have to take responsibility for the belt. As the first champion, I have to set the standard, too.</p><p> </p><p>

“So here we go, son. Malice in Wonderland. You, me, Sammy Bach. We'll settle this the way wrestlers always have – with one man flat on his back looking at the lights, with blood, with pain, with honour.”</p><p> </p><p>

British Invasion vs. Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Whatever else you might say about the overhaul of the tag division, the injection of quality can't be denied. The reaction to this Invasion/Kings match is better than the reaction, only half a year ago, to most tag team title matches featuring much more established teams, and that bodes well for all four men.</p><p> </p><p>

Walter Morgan proves to be the slight weak link, as the Kings manage to slip clear of his submissions long enough to position him for – and execute – the Crippler Bomb, giving Clark Alexander the pin.</p><p>

Floyd Goldworthy is caught on camera backstage, catching Tyson Baine as the big man collects a soda from a vending machine.</p><p> </p><p>

“Tyson!” he calls, scrambling across. “Hey, Tyson, Mr Baine, sir, it's good to see you. I, ah... I've a little proposition for you, if you might be interested... I mean, you and the Buffalo, you, ah, were always great together before you came to TCW, and I think a return to the tag ranks might be the way for both of you to really find the kind of success that it's, ah...” He starts to trail off, realising just what he's saying. “That it's been... a while... since you really...”</p><p> </p><p>

Baine growls, crushing the unopened soda in one giant hand. The dark, sticky liquid drips out of his fist, and Goldworthy stares, nervous as hell. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/EddiePeak.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Then there's a laugh from off-camera, and the camera – and Goldworthy and Baine's attention – whip round to behold Eddie Peak, who ambles up to the drinks machine and feeds it a couple of coins for a soda of his own. “Come on, Tyson,” he says cheerfully. “Gotta give him points for the cojones of it, haven'tcha?”</p><p> </p><p>

Baine glares at him, and Peak grins. “I know, I know,” he says. “You wanna kick my ass. Well, only problem I have with that is we just got done doing that dance a couple months ago – so let's not.”</p><p> </p><p>

A pause. “Although... Unless something big comes up in the next couple weeks, I'm crashing the Shot to the Top party.” </p><p> </p><p>

“That right?” Baine growls. It's not exactly common for someone like Peak to get involved in a ladder match, even one with a guaranteed shot at the World Heavyweight Championship on offer.</p><p> </p><p>

Peak grins that insane grin of his. “I asked nicely,” he says, “and wouldn't you know it, suddenly getting to the top of the business wasn't Acid's top priority. Apparently he'd rather take me on with a ref and rules.”</p><p> </p><p>

A shrug. “Still, I'm game for it.”</p><p>

Koshiro Ino, Team VIPER & Suzanne Brazzle w/ Baroness Emily</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A hectic contest here, as any eight-man match must surely be, but one which also suggests both sides to be pretty evenly matched. However, the KOBRA team seem to have a lot more ease together at the moment, and the determination etched on their faces is something that Rhodes notes “wasn't there not so long ago – what's up?”</p><p> </p><p>

Brazzle and Easter have a lengthy sequence opposite one another, showcasing their skills, but that ends when, with Ray Johnson's attention on Laura Huggins, the masked Japanese woman rolls into the ring and clobbers Brazzle, drawing blood from her forehead. </p><p> </p><p>

Instant replays show brass knuckles on her hand as she makes herself scarce; Fumihiro Ota enters, dodging Lauren Easter's initial assault, to drag Brazzle back to the corner. Ino promptly tags in and comes in fast and hard; eventually he corners Freddy Huggins in the KOBRA corner, getting the Kobra's Bite. Both members of Team VIPER immediately enter the ring to prevent the pin being broken up, and KOBRA take it.</p><p>

Aaron Andrews vs. JD Morgan</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

No career-best performance from Morgan this week; he and Andrews put on a decidedly average affair, though solid enough, and Andrews doesn't even use the Game Breaker to end it, finishing things with the simpler spinebuster to get the victory.</p><p>

Jack Marlowe vs. Sam Keith</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

This contest, on the other hand, is purely excellent. While no one labours under any delusion that Keith might lose this match, that's hardly the question; Marlowe is out to injure, to maim, and he does a good job of it, mercilessly going after Keith's knee. </p><p> </p><p>

The assault is simply brutal, and Keith has to scramble to get round it, eventually resorting to an inside cragle that lasts just long enough – he wasn't able to string together enough offence for anything else to work.</p><p>

Not quite as good as the match that preceded it, this brawlfest is, nonetheless, pretty damn entertaining. Guide and Scout work well together, but Remo bulldozes through the pair of them – and Acid and Perez, under guidance supplied by Huggins and Vibert in consultation, concentrate on Law.</p><p> </p><p>

Rick is good – Rick is damn good – but he's not as good as he'd need to be to beat those odds. He's bundled from the ring by the pair and while he fights back on the outside, he's contained. Meanwhile, Remo drops Scout with a spear, then dumps Guide on him with the Destroyer and pins the now-near-unconscious Scout.</p><p>

<strong>Monday 15th January 2009</strong></p><p>

What is it, exactly, that makes a big card the biggest?</p><p> </p><p>

TCW has two standout events, Malice in Wonderland and Total Mayhem. While Total Mayhem is the one that springs most easily to mind, Malice in Wonderland is the kickoff to each new year – it doesn't have a name that sounds synonymous with TCW, it has to, absolutely has to, stand and fall on its own merits. </p><p> </p><p>

And this is a real headache for a booker, because it's become a standout event – and that means that every year, it has to go down well. It has to feel like the biggest card of the year, even if it isn't – even if another show comes across better.</p><p> </p><p>

At the same time, you don't want to hurt the other ten shows of the year by making them weaker than Malice and Mayhem. So a lot of it is the mystique. Special matches, like the Shot at the Top introduced two years ago – but The War to Settle The Score is a place we often break out stipulations, too. Major hype in other ways is a little trickier. This year, we announced Troy/Johnny three months ahead of time, but of course it's taken a bit to really get to the build for them. We have the introduction of a new championship, with the women, but again, specific names aren't even provided yet. </p><p> </p><p>

At the same time, I'm looking at the card we've got sketched out. Thus far, only a little bit of it is confirmed, but nonetheless, it feels stacked to me. Virtually everyone involved has been in a major program recently – there's only a couple that aren't, and those have pedigree. We've got some firsts lined up.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm going to have to wait until the day to see how we actually do, obviously – but this time around, it feels like a big show. On paper, it feels stacked. The problem is that that's only half of the job. We'll soon see if the guys perform at the level we hope; all these men are capable of it, and they're all motivated... but on the night, it can still all go wrong.</p>

Hey, gang.

If you haven't noticed, two diary characters have just changed their looks entirely, as two more of jtlant's renders have replaced originals; in this case, Baroness (Queen) Emily and Jack Bruce. Rather than have an abrupt change for everybody at this point, I've retroactively inserted them along the way; you may wish to have a look before the next shows on which they appear.

If you haven't already been looking at the C-Verse Render Thread in the mods section, I encourage you to do so.

As a side note, I'd like to thank those of you who've nominated me for Hall of Fame this year.

It's the C-Verse ReRender thread.

And a year of real time is impressive... especially since you've got a lot of shows tucked under your booking cap.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/totalwrestlingbanner.jpg

With just two weeks to go before Malice in Wonderland tensions are already hitting boiling point. This Tuesday, most current champions are competing, though in non-title matches.

John Anderson, for example, is set to take on Merle O'Curle as the International champion continues to face off with anyone willing to challenge him. O'Curle has not built up the record required for Mayhem Midden to give this a title go-ahead, but he remains a dangerous competitor. No one who gets in the ring with him has yet left the arena without a trip to TCW's trainers to check on a nagging injury.

After that, the Easy Riders are set to square off against the Conquering Kings. Having bulldozed the New Wave, the Riders look determined to crush all other opposition in their determination to hold on to their titles. Their attack last week on the Keith Brothers emphasises that. Can the Kings hold on and survive?

Troy Tornado has decided to offer a shot against the champion to anyone who's never held nor competed for the World Heavyweight Championship before. First volunteer was Jimmy P of the Fly Boys, who has quite the hill to climb - but if he makes it up the hill, even without the title on the line, it could be career making.

Jeremy Stone, meanwhile, is the latest member of the Syndicate to step into the ring against a Rising Star, in this case, Joey Minnesota. Can Minnesota play the mind games as well as his young ally seems to have been doing?

The Keith Brothers are also going to be in action, and their opponents this time are the unusual combination of the American Buffalo and Joel Bryant. Power and skill together, a dangerous mix - but the Keith Brothers are quite the team. And how much ringside presence can a match really cope with?

The other Rising Star has his own Syndicate problems. Aaron Andrews will be one on one against Tyson Baine by order of Mr Cornell. It looks like he may be an object lesson in what happens to people who refuse the Syndicate.

The Syndicate's presence will also dominate the main event; Sam Keith teams with co-World Heavyweight Champion, protege, and frequent ally Johnny Bloodstone against Tommy Cornell and protege Wolf Hawkins. It's hard to say which team has the bigger upside, but we know we want to be nowhere else but glued to our TV when that match comes on!

Prediction Key:

John Anderson vs. Merle O'Curle (non-title)

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Easy Riders w/ Carl Batch (non-title)

Jimmy P w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. Troy Tornado (non-title)

Jeremy Stone vs. Joey Minnesota

American Buffalo & Joel Bryant w/ Floyd Goldworthy & Laura Huggins vs. Keith Brothers w/ Blonde Bombshell

Aaron Andrews vs. Tyson Baine

Johnny Bloodstone & Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Cornell & Hawkins
