JOBBERS!

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

SORT OF JOBBERS!

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

Man, I wish the Kings would take this one... but alas, I can't quite buy it.

Guide vs. Tyson Baine

Sorry, Baine. You're done here. Plus, a singles victory gives some spice to the New Wave's losing streak.

Champagne Lover vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

I can't bring myself to vote against Keith two shows in a row. I just can't.

#1 Contendership to the World Heavyweight Championship

Battle Royale featuring Aaron Andrews, Billy Fonda, Brent Hill, Chris Rockwell, Eric Tyler, John Anderson, Marc DuBois, Merle O'Curle, Peter Hopper, Rick Law, Ricky Dale Johnson, Rocky Golden, Tommy Cornell, Troy Tornado & Walter Morgan

Why? Because he's Tommy Cornell, that's why!

The Young Guns vs. Jack Bruce & Sammy Bach

Bruce might not have been all that impressive so far but he is definitely above Young Guns

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

Global Tradition is pretty much a jobber team.

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

Conquering kings haven´t been doing anything lately.

Guide vs. Tyson Baine

Both guys are bit into losing streak right now but Guide is tag guy and Baine is higher on the ladders

Champagne Lover vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

Keith is still bigger name from these two

Too many big names for this to be anything else than complete guess as there is more than half a dozen guys here who could get the shot. I go with DuBois mainly because he seems like the best heel from this group as most of the biggest names are faces.

Prediction Key:

The Young Guns vs. Jack Bruce & Sammy Bach

Seems the proper choice given the participants and furthers the Bruce/Tornado feud - perhaps expanding it a bit will help it catch on better.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

This is going to be one of those 'tit for tat' type of stable feuds, I think, which means it's Tradition's turn.

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

It has been...difficult...to track how GenO's ascendancy, NTTATWWT. But to me at least GenO is starting to lose that sense of destiny and is more looking like a bunch of wannabes that talk a big game. On the third hand, if you're going to continue the 'slow build' of GenO, establishing Newton and Perez as tag threats (even after each has had a recent title match loss) is a good direction to go.

Guide vs. Tyson Baine

A perceived upset, but adds spice to the New Wave losing streak/breakup feud tease you've been working the past few shows.

Champagne Lover vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

Lover is moving up the ranks appropriately, and losing to Keith will continue that build. Plus, Keith needs to be kept strong after putting Remo over.

Not only does this make the most sense in the short term, I think this forwards the narrative a bit too, as I see Ticket to The Top being cashed in to make the WAFTT main event a three way dance.

The Young Guns vs. Jack Bruce & Sammy Bach

Jack Bruce needs to bounce back from his PPV loss, and The Young Guns are little more than jobbers

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

Team VIPER seem to be on a bit of a roll with Shingen winning the All Action Belt

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

I agree with Wallbanger perhaps building the two lower tier members of Generation OMEGA as a tag threat could be a good way to go, now that Frankie doesn't have the AA Belt.

Guide vs. Tyson Baine

Tyson may be gradually become less and less relevant but Singles or Tag the losing streak continues for the New Wave.

Champagne Lover vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

Lover is moving up gradually but beating someone like Keith is still something of a big deal, and I think he's more keen to put the younger talent over on PPV rather than on a regular TV show.

Been reading this for quite some time now and never thought about predicting. But thanks to the Phineas and Ferb talk and the in-text screaming from Eidenhoek, I've spent a little bit more time browsing through here this morning. So I thought, what the heck, I'll predict this one.

Forgive me if I am completely off...haven't read all 130+ pages of this beast. Great work with this one, PS. I'm gonna have to look up the PPPW dynasty and have a look. I like reading the established writers' on these boards TEW08 stuff, mostly because I wasn't around for that era and I like to see where the legend began. Like E-V's PSW and James Casey's 10 Simple Rules, I'll be reading the old PPPW one.

Like I said, don't attack me if I'm waaaaaay off with these...

The Young Guns vs. Jack Bruce & Sammy Bach

The star power of Bruce and Bach is just too great. Plus, Bruce needs a good bounce-back win after his loss in the PPV.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

VIPER has been on a roll lately.

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

I'm a big DWN, Perez, AND Vibert mark.

Guide vs. Tyson Baine

Keep on losing, New Wave...keep on losing.

Champagne Lover vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

He's a big deal. Champagne Lover is a smaller, Mexican deal.

Complete shot in the dark here. It was down between DuBois and Cornell, then I read Tigerkinney's predictions. His reason for DuBois winning made a good bit of sense, so that's who I'll predict.

Damn Eidehoek... could you be any more hyperactive?

Not a chance.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

I can't see the new champ setting off on a loss.

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

The Kings are good, but I'd be starting to get very worried if Gen Omega lost even more.

Guide vs. Tyson Baine

If they can't win as a team... besides, Baine needs to rebuild his monster cred.

Champagne Lover vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

Two losses in two shows... can't see it.

Out of the pool of four or five guys I can see winning this... they all seem to have other committments or ties which would make a world title shot odd.

The Young Guns vs. Jack Bruce & Sammy Bach

- For Bach, not for Jobby Bruce.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

- Considering the PPV result, I'll pretend that Team INO is on the rise?

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

- I'm guessing (again) that DWN and Perez will becoming GenOm's tag team of talent.

Guide vs. Tyson Baine

- This storyline could get *very* interesting if The New Wave start of have singles success.

Champagne Lover vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

- I'm going to make another wild assumption and due to CL's recent showings, Keith lays down for him and gives him a Major boost.

#1 Contendership to the World Heavyweight Championship

Battle Royale featuring Aaron Andrews, Billy Fonda, Brent Hill, Chris Rockwell, Eric Tyler, John Anderson, Marc DuBois, Merle O'Curle, Peter Hopper, Rick Law, Ricky Dale Johnson, Rocky Golden, Tommy Cornell, Troy Tornado & Walter Morgan

- My reasoning? I think Rockwell's brand of crazy vs. Bloodstone's brand of crazy would make for a fun mini-program.

Jason Azaria – Horatio Dangerous – Shawn Doakes

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeremyStone.jpg

As the show opens, Jeremy Stone is already in the ring. “I suppose it's too much to hope he's going to congratulate the champion,” Doakes says. Dangerous snorts. “You suppose right, and I can tell you that before he opens his mouth.”

“I'm not going to ask again,” Stone barks into the microphone. “Get out here, Bloodstone, you cheat.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JohnnyBloodstone_alt2.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/BlondeBombshell.jpg

Break Stuff hits, and Bloodstone comes out with the Bombshell next to him. He stops at the entrance, microphone in hand, and looks down at his belt, smiling slightly. “You got something to say?” he asks.

“I. Want. My. Rematch.”

Bloodstone smirks. “Not going to happen, Jeremy. Jez.”

“But you cheated. I have evidence, too – roll the tape.”

Bloodstone leans forward slightly, tilting his head back to take a look, as highlights from the main event begin to play.

Frustrated, Johnny takes the turnbuckle cover off one corner. Laying in forearms to Jeremy's back, he sets up to German suplex him into the exposed metal

“That isn't all, either. Gorgon – make the geeks play the other clip.”

He goes straight back to the Stone Hold; the Bombshell grabs a drink from one of the fans at ringside, takes a gulp, then sprays it into Jeremy's face.

“Oh, yeah, that.” Bloodstone grins. “See, I've got a clip of my own, and I asked Midden if I could play it – so you say you've got Gorgon in there? Sure, OK. I suspect Midden has his boys on the way, and Charlie doesn't let go of that baseball bat anymore. So we've just got to wait.”

“Play what you want,” Stone blusters. “You still cheated, man. If you hadn't I would have won. I earned that rematch.”

Bloodstone grins. “Wait for the clip, Jez. And can I just point out that if you'd just asked the production guys, not used your tame tank-on-oestrogen to bully them into it, we'd have the clip by now.”

Silence falls, the seconds ticking by. After a while, Bloodstone speaks again. “So, how you guys doing?” he asks the crowd. “Seen any good movies latel- ah!”

Jeremy Stone watches Bloodstone remove the turnbuckle cover... Stone elbows free, transitions behind him, and delivers a German suplex into the metal.

Bloodstone wags his finger. “You knnneeeeewwwwww!” he catcalls. “This was no accident, Jez. You cheated too. And since you ALSO took the woman I love, used her against me, and then set out to hurt her, I've got no inclination to concede I did anything wrong.

“Far as I'm concerned, the battle royal tonight stands. You had your chance.”

Jeremy Stone does not look happy. No, he doesn't look happy at all.

Young Guns vs. Jack Bruce & Sammy Bach

Once again, the Guns show why for so long they were one of TCW's top teams, first in the cruiserweight division and latterly throughout the promotion; they have an uncanny ability to perform on the level of their opponents.

Against much of the tag division, this is no great benefit; here, against two well-loathed and very skilled competitors, it's a knack that comes into its own. Azaria does a great job with it as the Guns combine with their usual total reliance on one another, supporting each other and providing backup exactly where it's needed.

Bach and Bruce do not have that level of understanding, or for that matter anything closely resembling it. Harry and Steve use that to its full extent, and for a while there, with Doakes arguing their case, it really does look like they might manage to pull out the shock upset – particularly when Jack Bruce takes a Blitzkrieg Bop.

The problem is that by that point, Bach had tagged in blind; Steve Gumble takes an Adrenaline Shot flying uppercut at the start, and as Allen rises so does Sammy. He goes for the superkick; Allen ducks it, tries for the Gunslinger's Revenge, and Bach blocks, hooking an arm, and falls backward, trapping Allen in the Bach on your Back. Harry has no real choice, in the end, but to tap out.

Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

After what was primarily a speed-based, airborne contest in the opening match, this one has more in common with the traditional, old-school strategies; for both sides, their opposition seem to have a target drawn on their limbs. For Morgan and Bryant, the target is the back of the neck and the shoulder, vulnerable to both the Cross-Atlantic Stretch and the One Shot Drop. For Miyazaki and Ota, the choice is clearly made to target the ankle – an emphasis on Miyazaki's speciality over the Ninja Strike.

With Morgan cut off and isolated fairly early on, the injuries to his ankle rack up faster than the injuries to either member of Team VIPER. As Miyazaki comes back in, Morgan does his level best to lock it away, dragging him off his feet and right into the Cross-Atlantic Stretch – only for Miyazaki to roll through and clamp down the Ankle Lock, securing a victory.

Needless to say, the victory is followed by the arrival of Team KOBRA as a whole in the ring. They surround the tag team, with the Baroness handing Ota the All-Action Championship belt. Ota, with a nod, fastens it back around the waist of Miyazaki, the champion, before the group bow to their victors.

Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

After the two different paces and styles to the previous contests, this tag bout changes once again – by combining aspects of both. The Generation Omega duo – referred to sourly by Dangerous as “what my dad would call Young Offenders” - keep up the frantic pace of the opening contest; the Kings, meanwhile, employ the same systematic style as in the VIPER/Tradition bout.

Their target? The left knee. As Doakes points out, this is a smart trick; if Perez can't stand on one leg, he can't hit that vicious hook kick that's recently become a, if not the, central feature of his arsenal, and a number of his other favourite manoeuvres fall by the wayside, too. Newton's speciality suplex requires full use of his feet, and the STF also needs anchoring via a leg.

It's a defensive strategy, really, more than one which favours either King's own arsenal, and that's something that Azaria takes real pains to emphasise; it's not the strategy of a team that plan to win.

The Kings just want to make a good showing here, want to show the world they can stand against Generation Omega, and to their credit, they actually do – Newton and Perez are clearly unhappy at the amount of work they have to put in to get the victory.

With that said, Newton manages to bring Barry Kingman down with a twisting powerslam – leaving Azaria speculating that his leg may have given out as he executed the move – and notably, when he applies the STF, he anchors it with the right leg, not the left. That does leave sufficient leverage to score the submission, however.

Guide vs. Tyson Baine

Guide has always been the closer of the New Wave to a brawler, though to characterise him that way really is to downplay the range of his skills. Still, Tyson Baine has the size, power, and reach advantages, as well as much more experience wrestling one on one.

Guide has his work cut out for him, indeed. And Baine is hungry for victories of any kind. He goes after the tag worker with a wild and gleeful enthusiasm, pounding away, and in the first couple of minutes Guide has to bail from the ring just to survive.

To his credit, he gets back in, and gradually, he starts to concentrate less on his own fists and more on his other talents – his speed and agility. Baine sets him up for the Hades Bomb and Guide essentially flips so far back off it he lands on his feet, scrambling backward to cope with the impact's momentum, off the ropes – Guided Missile slams into Baine but doesn't chop him down.

Undaunted, Guide hits the ropes again, goes for another but aborts to duck the big boot. He promptly delivers a dropkick to the back of the knee while the big man's standing on only one leg; as Baine crumples to his knees, Guide hits the ropes again, fast, and lands a second Guided Missile that takes the big man to the mat. A pinfall follows, accompanied by some discussion about whether or not Guide meant to hook his feet on the rope for leverage.

Whether or not he did, it's how he gets the pin.

The commercial closes out, and cameras are back in the interview area. Guide, looking exhausted, and Scout, looking delighted, are standing there next to Autumn Gleeson.

“Welcome back,” she tells the viewers. “As you just saw, Guide here has just earned himself a victory over Tyson Baine – so, congratulations. It's not been a good time for the New Wave, has it?”

Guide and Scout both frown slightly, tight lipped. “It's like I've said before,” Scout begins. “We know we're as good as we've always been. Better, maybe. But we've been having losses.

“That doesn't just happen. There's always a reason for something like that. We need to find it. We need to isolate it, and we need to-”

“Ah! Ah! Let me go!”

The new voice belongs to Floyd Goldworthy, who's approaching the interview area at quite some speed due to American Buffalo's hand on his ear.

“Ow ow owowowowlemmegolemmegolemmeGO!”

Which is about when Buffalo does release the hold. “You two just lost it,” he growls. “I said it before – I could beat you, I find a partner.”

Guide snickers. “Seems like just a little while ago you couldn't beat Tyson Baine. Things change, right?”

Champagne Lover vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

It's fast, it's interesting, it's...

It may just be that to get to this match the production van cut away from the brawl as it erupted backstage, but the level of heat on this is not what it might be, certainly not what you'd hope for with this amount of talent in the ring.

Lover and Keith fight as if on an even footing, with the younger man having perhaps a slight advantage. Keith is hardly on the ropes, but he is having a little trouble.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/StephanieWade.jpg

Lover sets up the Lover Stunner toward the end, only to find his foot trapped. He turns to find Stephanie Wade on the other end; she releases her grip, allowing Keith to get the Neutron Plex as a precursor to the Proton Lock and the submission.

Andrews pauses, sighing. “I know it's you, Edd,” he calls.

There's a long moment, then Edd's voice returns. “But it's Hawaiian!”

Andrews sighs again, looking toward the door. “Edd, seriously, don't make me come out there.”

Someone puts their hand on Andrews' shoulder, spinning him aro-

Edd Stone grins. From outside the door, his voice continues “Hey, man, I'm just gonna eat your pizza if you don't want it.” He crosses to the door, opens it, and unhooks a small tape recorder from the outside before leaving, pausing in the doorway for a couple of quick dance steps.

With Andrews not present, it looks for a while like this might feature only fourteen competitors.

And then he arrives, a broad, arrogant smirk on his face. Jeremy Stone.

DuBois takes a look around the battle as a whole and launches himself at Brent Hill. Swiftly, groups begin to form; the Law-Rockwell-Golden axis, the School of Tradition faction, the Easy Riders...

Anderson pulls DuBois off Hill, turns around, and finds Fonda and Hopper both charging him. They simply power the Machine over the top rope and down to the outside.

Elimination #1: John Anderson

Hill retaliates with a crisp dropkick, staggering Fonda against the ropes. Troy Tornado is right there with the Star Maker to finish the job.

Elimination #2: Billy Fonda

RDJ and Cornell have developed a loose alliance of their own, facing off with the School of Tradition crowd. While O'Curle and Tyler beat down Cornell, RDJ comes to the rescue, bundling Walter Morgan out of the ring.

Elimination #3: Walter Morgan

At this stage, almost all of the groups have suffered some kind of attrition. Chris Rockwell goes for Marc DuBois, encouraged by Rick Law, and drives him to the ropes, hammering him with body shots and stiff punches, before DuBois throws his usual mindgames to the winds and really uses his head, staggering him with a headbutt. With Rockwell dazed, Jeremy Stone tosses him.

Elimination #4: Chris Rockwell

DuBois promptly wheels and dropkicks Golden in the face, rolling clear, baiting him into a charge, before dropping and pulling the ropes down. All of a sudden, Rick Law is on his own.

Elimination #5: Rocky Golden

The brawl between Hopper and Hill continues, the Machines and the Riders now seemingly cemented into enmity. Hopper powers Hill up into a gorilla press, however, and where many battle royal participants simply follow that up with a slam, Hopper hurls him out of the ring.

Elimination #6: Brent Hill

Troy Tornado drops into position behind Eric Tyler, spinning him around and delivering the Tornado Driver. With Tyler out of it, Cornell takes the opportunity to suplex O'Curle out of the ring.

Elimination #7: Merle O'Curle

Seconds behind, Rick Law delivers the Long Arm of the Law to Peter Hopper, sending him spilling out.

Elimination #8: Peter Fonda

At this point, things start to slow down somewhat, at least as far as eliminations are concerned. With the battle royal starting to stalemate a little, Cornell and RDJ pick their alliance back up, nearly eliminating DuBois on RDJ's part – though the wily young man neatly rescues himself – while Cornell almost tosses Rick Law. Jeremy Stone and Eric Tyler beat down on Troy Tornado, meanwhile, but it looks like the Cornell-RDJ alliance has enough momentum to win the day.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JungleJack_alt1.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/EddStone_alt6.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Gorgon-1.jpg

And that's when things change, with three new arrivals. Jack Marlowe – now shorn of his suit – hits the ring alongside Edd Stone and Gorgon. Edd and Marlowe go straight for Cornell, Marlowe pounding away while Edd does something that's probably meant to be capoeira but which would be better described as kung fu breakdancing. Meanwhile, Gorgon targets RDJ, exchanging punches for a few moments – and then DuBois low blows RDJ, allowing Gorgon to apply the chokehold. She promptly Hydra Bombs him into elimination.

Elimination #9: Ricky Dale Johnson

Rick Law, somewhat recovered, promptly charges Eric Tyler, scoring with the Long Arm of the Law before throwing him, too, out of the ring.

Elimination #10: Eric Tyler

Edd and Marlowe continue to assault Cornell, though it's not as one-sided as that sounds; on the other hand, DuBois is there too, sneaking behind the company owner, only to hit a release German suplex that eliminates the multi-time world champion.

Elimination #11: Tommy Cornell

And so we come to the final four. Edd launches himself at Troy Tornado, and the pair of them engage in a furious battle, while Jack Marlowe goes for Rick Law. Ever the opportunist, DuBois follows him, and as Troy learns that YOU CAN'T TORNADO DRIVER EDD STONE EITHER, the Generation Omega man ejects Rick Law with a Marc of Excellence, only to be eliminated a second later by Jeremy Stone, Jack Marlowe, and Gorgon acting in concert.

Eliminations #12 & 13: Rick Law & Marc DuBois

It comes down to the Stone clan and Troy Tornado. Jeremy simply stands back and watches, as his three lackeys go after the former World Heavyweight Champion.

Troy, though, was the Triple-Threat Champion, and this kind of multi-man situation is his bread and butter. He manages to confuse the issue at one point such that Gorgon's hand closes around Marlowe's throat, not his; as Gorgon Hydra Bombs her ally, Tornado gets a snap DDT on Edd and ejects Gorgon with a Star Maker to the back of her head - ejects her, but doesn't stun or slow her; she lands on her feet, turning around to glower at him darkly. He promptly backdrops Edd out of the ring, too, but as he straightens up he meets a steel chair from Jeremy Stone. Knocked against the ropes, he's powerless to stop Marlowe's discus clothesline from eliminating him in turn.

Final Elimination: Troy Tornado

Jeremy Stone won a Battle Royale

Days like Saturday will make any TCW fan wish they were Quebecois. Coming live from the Stade Uniprix, Saturday Night Showcase looks like an astonishing show. Let's take you through it...

Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez will be in tag team action, facing off with the New Wave. Can Guide's victory on Tuesday spearhead a turnaround for the two long-term heroes of professional wrestling?

Another major match follows, with the Rising Stars once again squaring off against more of Generation Omega, as Marc DuBois and Wolf Hawkins level their sights at them. Word has it that Phil Vibert plans to make a number of announcements at the show... None of them are likely to be good for anyone else, and decisive victories in the first two shows could add to that weight significantly.

Jack Bruce has a chance to prove himself once again, taking on the Canadian heir to a very special mantle - Canadian Elemental faces perhaps his biggest challenge to date in the former world champion.

Non-title action features a current world champion next, as Johnny Bloodstone goes one on one against Sammy Bach. Jeremy Stone's issues with Bloodstone potentially cost Bach last month; this month, Bruce's priorities took Sammy out of the title picture. He'll be looking for a chance to prove himself and return to the championship scene in short order.

And in the main event, a title goes back on the line. Art Reed & Greg Keith face arguably the toughest test of their title career to date; the Elite Express and the British Lions are the other two teams in the contest. Reed & Keith squeaked out a win this past Sunday, but a scant six days later there is possibly a greater threat. Will we see the championship change hands? After Reed agreed to the stipulation, we tried to reach Matthew Keith, but he was unavailable for comment.

Prediction Key:

New Wave vs. Davis Wayne Newton & Frankie Perez w/ Phil Vibert

Rising Stars vs. Marc DuBois & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

Canadian Elemental vs. Jack Bruce

Johnny Bloodstone w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Sammy Bach (non-title)

Losing streak etc.

Rising Stars vs. Marc DuBois & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

Always the problems. If the Heels always win, are the Faces being made to look weak? If the Heels lose, is their credibility being undermined? If there are constant draws and non-finishes, does it look like a cop-out? Decisions, decisions.

Canadian Elemental vs. Jack Bruce

Job to the top!

Johnny Bloodstone w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Sammy Bach (non-title)

World Champion. No Chance.
