To be honest, not to rain on the "parade" here, but if we ended up with a 97 HGC mod then I may have to back out of the project. I don't have that database downloaded on my computer and at this point I don't really have a lot of room to put new stuff on my laptop. So, I don't know if I would really DL the info just to put in a show here or there.

If that's what is chosen then that's totally cool! I just probably wont be able to keep up as a writer!

Either way, great project going forward it seems!

And that includes the extra pic files that you add to the Default people folder. And my NYCW save, which went a few years takes up only 80ish MB. So I would think that you'd need 100 MB to safely run the mod.

My problem with HGC is that it's set in 1997. I do the occassional Pop Culture reference when I write, and I'd have to make an effort to flash back to the popular themes of the time. On one level it could be really fun, researching the slang of the time and making reference to then-modern crazes, but on the other hand it's a lot of work. Especially considering I'm still working on my own stuff.

I'd do it if it were chosen (was Buffy on tv in '97? If so TONS of btvs references) but I'd rather do something easier.

A project like this is suppose to be an "easy" thing just to have a good "thank you" and "goodbye" to this version of TEW. So, It's be more fun to keep it in "the now" versus going back to an created database that isn't necissarily the default version.

Plus, I'm not really in the place (as many writers who still have diaries would probably say) to research what was going on at the time as it would be a total jump into a new database. (Ie: learning characters position, storylines, etc.). HGC is one of my fav. companies in the Cornellverse but, for a project like this where there will probably be a lot of writers, it'd be nice to keep it as simple as possible.

BTW, wiki is awesome for stuff like this. BTW, I would totally book the first show of February in New England and have a heel make fun their the Patriots for losing the Super Bowl.

Just want to say good luck with this project. Sounds like it could be really interesting.

I'm not putting my name forward to take part because...

a) I'm having enough of a job finding any time for my own XWA game right now

b) I'm not really interested in writing angles and storylines in dynasties

But I will certainly be an avid reader of what comes out of this. Some great writers clubbing together on a fun project should be a winner. And, if I was going to choose one of those options given, I'd choose 21CW. I think it would be really interesting to see how some TEW veterans dealt with it.

It still comes down to whether I feel we should stick with the original C-Verse or allow to deviate into the 97 C-Verse.

More sign ups welcome!

Whatever you want to go with is fine by me. Though now that I think about it, why didn't anyone think about a USPW game? Seems like it would be better fit for a community driven diary as there is less pressure on us to put on a good show and has everything we are looking for. There is only one current USPW diary running so it wouldn't be promotion overload like TCW would be and is in the C-Verse.
