Board Effort Towards a Fictional Universe...

Recommended Posts

I was just looking at the promotions that I created and the locker room scene is way to harmonious.:o I am not sure what to do, maybe get rid of some of the friendly relationships, make less nice people.

With LSSWL, I thought I had created the locker room from hell. Instead it gets a 100% harmonious rating!:confused:

I guess it is back to the drawing board for me...

Are the workers going to have pics? Or do they already have pics?

Yes Kobe is making all the pictures for this mod.

Pre-relationships, I think BDW was at 69% Backstage. I could definitely add some dislike relationships to even out the Ramone "family" friendships.

I don't see a huge problem with 69% Backstage. I think some companies should have a high rating. For me the LSSWL was supposed to have a bad backstage area and it did in the 08 game. However, once the conversion was made to the new game the backstage became so happy. That was the only reason why I was saying that I have to radically change the LSSWL's backstage area. I just want it to reflect my vision of it more.

Just an update on the data, I sent it over to dvdWarrior (hopefully he got it all right). When dvdWarrior is done with it, if nobody else wants it I will take it back. However, if Stennick or Com-Bot want it then I can wait, because I still have a ton to do with it so I do not want to hold anybody else up.

Glad to hear the data is still being worked on. I'm trying out some things with rendering right now, hopefully I have an update on the worker pics soon. :o

What should we do with Fullhouse's empty promotion? Fullhouse hasn't been on here in a while. I say if Fullhouse does not return, we should make it into a future promotion.

I agree with this. I haven't seen him in ages and having empty promotions in the data makes it relatively unplayable. :o

I got the data all right BTW; sorry I haven't posted that till now. Only have a few things to update really, but I haven't done that yet. Been a little bit of busy and a whole lot of preoccupied today. I'll get that taken care of as fast as I can though.

I'll take the data in about week (during Spring Break!). That should give me enough to time to work on this AND the 2005 C-Verse mod.

I think I can piece together "USSR" (steal not sold on that name... USSRPW? Or, lulzier, USSPW).

It's meant to be Soviet USPW, so, yeah... I have no shame in making that very, very obvious.

And, of course, I wouldn't mind helping out with Europe in general seeing as how my own brain child in this mod is located in it. Obviously there would need to be a few former USSR workers in it, other unemployed people who could be a reasonable fit for the company, and... I have no idea how we plan to handle future workers!

Bah, I'll probably keep it the United Super Stars Revolution...

And I guess I'll take this time to read up, figuring out what the introduction of TEW2010 to the mix means I need to change.

So I ended up doing some work on my end. Here's the (rough draft) bios of USSR's newest stars!

Marko Filipovic

Marko Filipovic is the "nearly man" of USSR, having been with the company since the early 90s when he was a brash, exciting rookie. Always hampered by his poor speaking skills, Filipovic instead made his mark by mixing great technical abilities with jaw dropping aerial abilities, even to the point that USSR's fans bought into him. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in the form of a serious knee injury in 1996, just as his momentum was at its peak. When he returned a year later it was obvious that the "flash" he possessed was lost as the injury had forced him to focus almost entirely on his ground game. For over a decade now he's worked in USSR's midcard, where he's primarily used as a stepping stone into the upper card and to pass his sizeable knowledge of the basics on to younger workers.

Mr. Black

Mr. Black is a mysterious masked worker who has spent the last several years terrifying audiences in USSR. Playing a dark, enigmatic character with possible demonic ties, he is steadily becoming one of their tops draws, with an eventual run in the main event seemingly assured. While physically he's built like a body-builder, it's not believed he was one prior to joining USSR (unlike most of the roster!), in part due to the fact he's actually shown a solid grasp of the basics, even early in his career. Indeed, he wrestles in a very old-school style that wasn't uncommon in Europe during the 1970s, even using his "Black Claw" as a finishing move.

Shockingly, has recently joined Perestroika, though many suspect his motives for doing so maybe grander than his stablemates, or anyone for that matter, can comprehend...

Nemezida

Boris Ziv is a young Russian powerhouse who, since 2007, has been a rising star in USSR. Brought in as Viktor Koslov's protege (in the event he actually retires before hitting 50) under the name Boris Berserker. As Koslov's protege, Boris not only began to demonstrate a very similar, power based and hard hitting, style as his mentor, but soon became his staunchest ally in the battle against Captain Capitalism. That is, until Boris turned on his mentor and ally, becoming the Captain's newest member of Perestroika. He has now taken to calling himself "Nemezida", or nemesis, showing his utter disdain for what the USSR stands for.

Ninja Mikhailov

"Ninja" Mikhailov is an average worker out of Russia who has spent the last several years working as an opening level comedy worker for USSR. A burly Russian, his style is an odd contrast to the typical cruiserweight workers who tend to work a ninja gimmick, but most seem to think that helps add to his "aura". His "ninja strikes" often look painfully slow and sloppy, and his attempts at high flying almost always end with massive failure. Unfortunately, its hard to tell how much of this is part of his gimmick, leaving a big question mark on how much talent Mikhailov actually has. With the fans solidly behind his character, if he's capable of demonstrating a more serious approach to his in-ring work the "Red Ninja" very well could become a star.

Siberian Bear

Probably the second most famous heel in recent Eastern European history, behind The Tzar, is the vicious, and gigantic, Siberian Bear. At 7'3" and over 400 lbs and wild mountain man appearance, the Bear is without a doubt one of the most imposing sights in all of professional wrestling. Where The Tzar was known to combat USSR's top stars with mind games, The Siberian Bear fought fire with fire: even Viktor Koslov has struggled with his immense size.

Like many men his size, however, the Siberian Bear is practically immobile in the ring, throwing out little more than (obnoxiously stiff) strikes and the occaisonal slam. Recent years have seen him suffering from knee problems, as the decades have not been kind to the big man.

and my personal favorite...

War Saw

War Saw is a wild brawler out of, big shocker, Warsaw, Poland. A bit of a journeyman on the European circuit, War Saw has worked for a variety of companies, sometimes multiple times, over the course of only a few years. This seems a bit odd to say about the man, as he came into wrestling rather late in life (having served in the Polish military) and hasn't actually been active all that long. Most recently he's landed in USSR (for the third time), immediately winning the Eastern Bloc championship for the (again) third time upon his re-re-debut.

It's a known fact that The Tzar actually came up with his name upon his very first run with USSR, but in a business blunder neglected to copyright the name to the company, instead allowing the Polish star to use it wherever he pleased, even rival companies.

I love your creativity here ("War Saw", really? :p). Can't wait to see this group in action.

Side note:

After this promotion and Rayelek's next promotion go in I'm going to see about balancing the data out a bit/doing some bio work/looking and see what promotions have a dearth of wrestlers so I can make some guys to fill the gaps. ^_^

I'd like to get this playable so that we can release an initial beta that stands on its own. Obviously we can keep adding promotions/submissions but I've been itching to play this for a while. :p

How big is USSR? If Mr. Black isn't on a written deal, I could see him fitting in very well in UK Lucha as a foreign heel.

Nah, he'll be PPA. USSR is (currently) a Small company, relatively close to Regional. I might bump them up to Regional depending on how the rest of the data shapes up, though.

But yeah, feel free to use Mr. Black in UKL if you want. Otherwise, I'd like to limit the number of workers being shared. As it is, I'm also hoping Stennick could find a Mexican promotion where USSR tag team El Buitre and The Hyena could also work. Part of their crazy backstory and all. At the very least, a company where they USED to work.

What is everyone doing as far as drugs, smoking, drinking, religion, etc. goes?

I read that those stats should be kept low, which does and does not make sense to me. Because with all of them you either take part in the vice or you do not. So I was just wanting to get everybody's opinion on this.

I just made Fullhouse's empty promotion into a future promotion. Because with it being empty it really screws up watcher games. So if/when Fullhouse returns they can put it back as an active.

I'm keeping personal problem low... so far, I think I have two folks with it. If it gets above 50, then it's usually a SERIOUS problem with the consequences that'll like be fatal for said worker... and I don't want my guys to die left and right, just have an underlying problem to add flavor to them.

Like Aleksandr Korolenko and his rampant steroid usage (which I think I may have put as high as 40%, but he loves his steroids!), and Woolly Rhino has a small drinking problem. But if I looked like him, then so would I. And heck, what's a Russian promotion full of guys built like bodybuilders without a few steroids and vodka abusers?

I was reading this thread to see what the heck you guys were doin and this post made me fall off my chair from laughter. Maybe I'm just to sleepy, or maybe its the fact I'm watching Rocky IV and Ivan Drago was on the screen when I read it. Either way, that was awesome. Thank you for making my day.

I like what you guys are doing as well. Pretty awesome sounding thus far

I tend to max problems out at 75 aside from religion. :)

Here is just a little taste of some of the Japan data that I am making:

Name: Odorokasu Sumo Saru

Odorokasu Sumo Saru is one half of the legendary Japanese tag team The Odorokasu Sumos, along with Odorokasu Sumo Tatsumaki. They have won tons of tag titles in Japan, and they also founded the TOTAL TAG TEAM Wrestling promotion. Saru is considered to be one of the strangest wrestlers in Japan, due to the fact that he weighs 400+ pounds and he also indeed used to be an actual sumo wrestler, yet he wrestles like a cruiserweight and can do an amazing Double Flip Moonsault that he calls The Doubleflip Sumosault.
