May 2013

week 2 Friday

ESE Eye of the Storm

Held in Synthesis Mall: attendance 24 peoples

ANGLE:

http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/9736/saltylarry.jpghttp://img706.imageshack.us/img706/543/victhurgood.jpghttp://img100.imageshack.us/img100/5436/finkfinkleton.jpg

Show starts with Larry and Vic hyping this night main event when Finkleton comes in and tells that he will be the third announcer tonight. Vic thinks that it´s a good idea and a honor to them, while Larry is little more skeptical. F+

2 vs. 2

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpg & http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/7719/giancarlogiabroni.jpg vs. http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/4743/genocideagent.jpg & http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/7996/suicideagent.jpg

Hitmans (Glen Ward & Giancarlo Giabroni) vs. Elimination Agents (Genocide Agent & Suicide Agent)

These two teams put up a pretty decent tag match where Elimination Agents take the win when Suicide hits Giabroni with Full Nelson Slam. Suicide Agent has stale character so he needs a new gimmick or turn (seriously he´s the only guy who I have turned and now the game tells me that he is need of a turn again?)

WINNERS: Elimination Agents (Genocide Agent & Suicide Agent) by pinfall in 7:14 E

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/7996/suicideagent.jpghttp://img6.imageshack.us/img6/6672/cannonballloganalt6.jpg

After the match Logan comes to the ring and tells Suicide that accepts Suicide´s challenge and that they will have title match in next show. E-

1 vs. 1

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3493/leighburton.jpg vs. http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/6462/ronnydeveuster.jpg

Leight Burton vs. Ronny De Veuster

Burton picks up a win here against fellow jobber with belly-to-belly suplex. It seems that Burton is concentrating more to his matches than before though he still is arrogant and uses some time to pose the crowd for time-to-time. Burton and Veuster had a great chemistry (no kidding, D-? Seriously? Man they must have a rematch at some point)

WINNER: Leigh Burton by pinfall in 5:33 D-

ANGLE:

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4664/armandhardwicke.jpghttp://img706.imageshack.us/img706/9249/jeremyallen.jpg

Hardwicke and Allen are shown backstage. Hardwicke offers handshake and declares that the better man will win. Allen shakes Hardwicke´s hand but then kick him to guts and starts beating him senseless. Allen made a heel turn and his gimmick was changed to Turncoat (C- initial rating. Well that didn´t work the turn was a success though). F

1 vs. 1 Loser leaves town

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/9249/jeremyallen.jpg vs. http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4664/armandhardwicke.jpg

Jeremy Allen vs. Armand Hardwicke

Allen pretty much drags Hardwicke to the ring and though Hardwicke recovers enough to put up some kind of fight it´s clear that Allen´s beating on him had take its toll and Allen finishes his former partner with Hunk O´ Pain and sends him off from ESE.

WINNER: Jeremy Allen by pinfall in 5:11 F+

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/9423/robertomilano.jpg

Milano comes in the ring and stars bragging how he managed to survive against attacks made by The Rebels and how there now isn´t anyone worthy enough to challenge him for the title. He also praises Finkleton for making right decisions (Fink agrees on the commentary of course) and mentions that The Rebels are now broken and out of business after what have happened this month. He then mentions that though there isn´t anyone worthy to challenge him he will have a match right now, just so the crowd will have something to watch tonight. E+

1 vs. 1

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/9423/robertomilano.jpg vs. http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/1147/jonmichaelsharp.jpg

Roberto Milano vs. John Michael Sharp

Sharp manages to surprise Milano and puts up quite a fight here but in the end Milano is too strong and Sharp is forced to tap out on Arm Bar. Salty Larry and Finkleton clashed horrible on commentary (well guys that will put stop to any color commentary idea for Fink then.)

WINNER: Roberto Milano by submission in 6:37 E+

2 vs. 2

http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/3001/warmachine.jpg & http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/9273/gianfrancomorelli.jpg vs. http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/1421/ianvinciblealt4.jpg & http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/8674/nigelsvensson.jpg

War Machine & Gianfranco Morelli vs. Ian Vinsible & Nigel Svensson

This was another heated tag match especially when Vinsible and Morelli where both in the ring, but it was also clear that War Machine was after Svensson here. The match ends when Morelli manages to hit Vinsible with brass knuckles while Garrett wasn´t watching and War Machine (who was a legal guy) throws Vinsible out of the ring and motions Svensson to come in the ring. Before Svensson can get inside Morelli attacks him from outside and hits Svensson senseless with his knuckles too. Garrett didn´t see this hit either (he was making a ten count for Vinsible) so when Vinsible failed to respond to ten count Garreett awarded victory to War Machine and Morelli by count out. It´s worth noting that tough Morelli seemed happy on the result War Machine didn´t and he clearly intended to hurt Svensson but several officials and security guards managed to stop him before any more harm was done.

WINNERS: War Machine & Gianfranco Morelli by count out after cheating in 15:17 D-

Show rating: E+

Nice show overall with Allen & Hardwicke slightly disappointing but that Burton/Veuster match made up for it big time. Guess Burton will receive his push soon. Some of you might wonder why that first angle which was pretty much pointless. The main reason was that I wanted to try Fink as a color commentator and I felt that I need to include it to this diary somehow. That clash note with Larry puts the end of that try though. Unfortunately those two E+ shows weren´t enough to keep me on small and I dropped back to local after end of this month which means that I have to keep at least two off months again. With EWA and EUW putting C shows and VWA putting B- show there is no way I could beat them anytime soon.

NEWS:

ESE management has informed that they will move their shows to Eastern Europe. They state that reason for this move is that there is more open market for wrestling there. Many speculate that ESE have suffered from the fact that they share their market with three bigger promotions and this move is made because there will be no competition in Eastern Europe. Sources in ESE also inform that ESE Eye of the Storm events are cancelled and all ESE held events will be named ESE Eternal Battle as it was before the inclusion of second show.

First of all I want to thanks everyone who took time and predicted/give their opinion for my situation. In the end I decided to move to Eastern Europe mainly because I didn´t think I could compete with those AI promotions at my current state. Also this will let me run more relaxed shows since I don´t necessary need to get E+ or better in every show, which gives me more options storyline wise. This move will cause some short term problems though mainly because wrestlers overness will be screwed from what I´m used to (guys like Svensson, Elimination Agents and War Machine have zero overness in Eastern Europe) so it will take some time to build my guys back to the level where they are in Scandinavia.I took a hard look on many new wrestlers but in the end I decided not to hire anyone since my roster is already quite big for local promotion and the current roster should be good enough to get me to small when there is no regional battle. That said your picks at who I should hire weren´t complete waste of time since those four who got votes will be the first ones I will look when I decide to bring some new blood to my main event scene.

More of topic ranting: Right that was my thinking back when I decided to run the show in Eastern Europe, however after runnig the first show I encountered one tiny little error in my plans. Namely NO ONE IN MY ROSTER DOESN`T SPEAK EASTERN EUROPEAN, which causes my promos to pretty much suck all the way. I not 100% sure but I don´t think they will ever learn to speak it by just performing in there so I would need to bring in about half-dozen guys that can speak it and that pretty much defeates my main point (want to keep current roster together) of moving to other region in the first place. So it´s back to drawing board again for me. This is really starting to get embarrassing:o with all these plan changes, mistakes and stuff and I´m currently half-minded to just give up with this and start a new one. Still on the bright side this diary it´s definitely living up to its title, if this isn´t total disaster then nothing is:D. Right now that I got that out of my chest it´s time to start thinking again. I keep you uptated about what I will decide but this might take a small hiatus until I get my head straight again.

Sadly, I have decided to stop this diary from here. The last straw was the fact that my popularity dropped form 14,6% to 8,9% for some reason (I presume it´s either bacause of some event or because I runned show in differend region). Either way this would mean that I would need to run several show before I can even get back to being close to small and I just don´t want to but that much time for a project that will likely die anyway, if I´m not getting to small.

I had lots of fun writing this one and will probably start a new ESE game at some point (Maybe in UK or Canada with more entertaiment basied promotion, not sure yet) after I have figured out what I want to try.

So sorry for everyone who readed this one:( and thank you for your support:).

Sorry to hear that Zergon but i can completely understand what your going through, i personally think the Regional battles do too much damage poularity wise losing up to .6 points is IMHO too much if your only gaining say .2/.4 for a show. Its been fun and i hope you don't leave it too long before starting your next project, i'll keep my eye out for it.

Damn, sucks to see this end. IMO I would like to see some British independent getting some love, since I'm a fan of the National School guys and they don't get used often enough at all. You could even have the gimmick of the dynasty revolve around the first set of graduates being the stars of it early on and go from there.
