The TNA Director of Authority is in the ring and Dusty Rhodes asks Gregory Helms, Jerry Lynn and The Amazing Red to come to the ring. The three do. Rhodes says the three of them are already in the Xscape match at Lockdown to determine the number one contender for the X Division Championship and next up on Impact there will be a six man tag team match where everybody will find out who the other three participants in the Xscape match are… C+

Air Paris, Jerry Lynn & Shawn Daivari v EZ Money, Gregory Helms & The Amazing Red

An exciting opening match, which once it was revealed it was going to involve six X Division athletes, it was not much of a surprise. Everybody, even the lower light Daivari had their share to show off their wares and all hit signatures moves in the match. The end came in 9:10 when Gregory Helms defeated Shawn Daivari by pinfall with a Shining Black and it bodes well for the Xscape match at Lockdown in five days time. C+

Backstage and we see Tony Schiavone in the interview area. He remarks that he is the greatest man with a microphone ever to be in the big three… WWF, WCW and TNA. One wonders if the pandas might get in touch for him saying the WWF… Anyway, he introduces his awesome guest The Miz, who comments on his partner Maven, saying that they are easily Tough Enough to beat Double R in the Lockdown cage… because they’re awesome. Japan 0 – Satoshi Kojima & Yoshihiro Tajiri

A good match with some decent interest from the crowd which saw in the ring debut of Tajiri and the return of Kojima, who has gone on record he has come back to TNA to help Japan win the Nations Cup. Kojima and Tajiri’s performance here as a tag team went a long way to achieve this as it kept Japan in the tournament and squared the series against Japan. Their win sets up the six man rubber match soon, a win which came in 7:57 when Yoshihiro Tajiri defeated Quiet Storm by pinfall with a Buzzsaw Kick. C+

A truly bizarre segment which saw Head sucking off Gordon, with Al Snow and Goldust laughing about it as they played puppeteers. Once they ceased laughing about their childish and disturbing act, they told their Lethal Lockdown opponents Ken Shamrock, Steve Corino and ‘Cowboy’ James Storm and whoever is foolish enough to be the fourth man on their team. C

Backstage and Dusty Rhodes is with ‘Cowboy’ James Storm. Rhodes tells Storm that he needs the fourth man on their team to team with tonight in a tag team match to decide which team gets the man advantage at Lethal Lockdown. C

TNA TV TITLE

Kishi (champion) v Albert Bloom v Austin Aries v Hernandez

A disappointing four way which also doesn’t bode too well for the four way Tag Team Championship match at Lockdown. Aries was very much the little man in amongst three huge men, but he managed to hold his own. He didn’t come away with the title though as Kishi was able to retain in 10:46 when Kishi defeated Hernandez by pinfall with a Rump Shaker. Kishi makes defence number 3 of his TNA TV title. C-

Things don’t go so well for Kishi’s occasional tag team partner Chuck Palumbo, who is on the wrong end of a beatdown courtesy of Test Martin. C+

Elsewhere backstage and Chavo Guerrero Jr and Eddie Guerrero have cornered Doug Williams. Eddie tells Williams that it is time to “right a wrong”, but William Regal turns up to back up Doug Williams and the Guerreros back off. C

Christian Cage & John Layfield v ‘Cowboy’ James Storm & ???

With Cage and Layfield in the ring, goading the Cowboy to come in as he is alone, the crowd erupt in excitement and surprise as…

INSERT BROCK LESNAR PICTURE HERE

Brock Lesnar joins the Cowboy! Lesnar and the Cowboy lay into Cage and Layfield and clear the ring to massive cheers… though it is noticeably that Eric Bischoff is not at ringside.

Cage and Layfield regroup and do their best to keep Lesnar out of the ring. And succeeded. Lesnar did not see much of the action as Cage and Layfield put on a tag team clinic. Cage and Layfield gained the man advantage for their team in Lethal Lockdown in 13:52 when Christian Cage defeated 'Wildcat' Chris Harris by pinfall with an Unprettier. C+

After the match, Eric Bischoff is seen backstage saying that not only will Brock Lesnar destroy The Truth at Lockdown, he will also destroy Lethal Lockdown. B-

Caprice Coleman (Heavyweight Champion), Mick Foley & Rey Mysterio Jr v Jamie Noble (X Division Champion), Abyss & Brother Ray)

A great main event even though Foley is still ring rusty. All six men showed how great they are at what they do and all six men nailed their finishers at one stage of the match. This match had implications for three separate matches at Lockdown and it was the reigning Heavyweight Champion who came out of the match with the most momentum, when he took the contest for his team in 19:19 when Caprice Coleman defeated Jamie Noble by pinfall with a Thermal Shock. B

Show rating: C+

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA’s overall popularity.

Some of the angles did not reach the standard of the action.

All matches to be held inside a steel cage

Brother Devon v John Cena

A great opening contest between a guy who some are starting to consider as “the forgotten Brother” and a promising new talent recently released by the WWE. Cena showed here he has a lot of potential and a lot to offer but he just about came up short to Devon in 7:43 by pinfall with a Deadlyville Drop. B-

Double R v Tough Enough

Both Roderick Strong and Maven under performed in this tag team match but it was still of a good quality. Rocky Romero and The Miz ended up having to carry the match for their teams and it was the popular Romero who prevailed for Double R in 11:27 when Rocky Romero defeated Maven by submission with a Diablo Armbar. C

Backstage and we see new TNA signing Cody Rhodes attacking Shoichi Funaki. He launches a vicious attack on the Japanese veteran and leaves him lying on the concrete as he walks off. E+

True Gentlemen

Some great action in a decent tag team match saw Mexico square up this Quarter Final series and take it to a deciding match. The match was a close one, with Eddie nicking it in 13:59 when Eddie Guerrero defeated Doug Williams by pinfall with a Frog Splash. B-

Mexico 1 United Kingdom 1

Brock Lesnar (with Eric Bischoff) v The Truth

Brock pulls double duty, with him also captaining a team in Lethal Lockdown and the crowd were confused whether to cheer or boo him here, as he faced The Truth, popular in part because of his imaginary child friend Little Jimmy. Little Jimmy was of no help here as Lesnar battered Truth in a very impressive display, finishing him off in 9:53 by pinfall with a Tornado Face Slam. B

[/b]TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

AK-47 v Chuck & Kishi v Latin American Exchange v T N A[/b]

A match that had some good action but looked messy in other places. The match was eventually won with a Train Wreck and at times the match resembled a train wreck. The match concluded and the first TNA Tag Team Champions were crowned in 14:31 when Albert Bloom defeated Chuck Palumbo by pinfall with a Train Wreck. T N A win the TNA Tag Team titles. C-

Backstage where Christian Cage and John Layfield are discussing Brock Lesnar’s late addition into the Lethal Lockdown match. They say that while Brock is a dangerous foe, he won’t be able to impact the result on his own. C

Lance Storm v Yoshihiro Tajiri

A good match between two quality wrestlers. Tajiri and Storm wrestled and counter wrestled very well against each other and a tight match was taken by the Japanese competitor in 13:08 by pinfall with a Buzzsaw Kick. Tajiri has had a better night than his compatriot Funaki earlier on. B-

XSCAPE MATCH TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER TO THE X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Air Paris v EZ Money v Gregory Helms v Jerry Lynn v Shawn Daivari v The Amazing Red

An exciting and aerial filled match had the crowd on the edge of their seats. There was plenty of action on the cage and indeed on top of the cage as the cage door was locked and the only way to win was by escaping the cage by climbing over the top. At one point, all six men were battling on the top of the cage, which saw Daivari take a nasty fall when Money and Red threw him off the cage to the canvas below. The battle continued on top of the cage, and the last man on the top made his way down the outside of the cage in 13:52 when Gregory Helms escaped the cage and became the number one contender. B

LETHAL LOCKDOWN

Christian Cage (captain), Al Snow, Goldust & John Layfield v Brock Lesnar (captain, with Eric Bischoff), ‘Cowboy’ James Storm, Ken Shamrock & Steve Corino

Lethal Lockdown kept up to it’s violent reputation in a decent edition of the event. Cage and Corino started the match, put on a decent wrestling show and also ended the first five minutes bleeding having suffered close encounters with the cage. With the man advantage earned on the last edition of Impact, John Layfield was the next match to enter the match. The usual pattern then transpired where the team with the numbers advantage got the advantage in the ring until the numbers were evened up. The entrants then came into the match in the following order… ‘Cowboy’ James Storm, Goldust, Ken Shamrock, Al Snow and finally Brock Lesnar. And that is where the shocker came…

Lesnar walked into the cage and the referee on the outside locked the cage door. Lesnar went up to the Cowboy and laid him out with a Tornado Face Slam. He then did the same to Ken Shamrock and Steve Corino before ripping off the cage door and walking out on his team with Eric Bischoff having a massive grin on his face and a chorus of boos from the crowd. Christian Cage, Al Snow, Goldust and John Layfield are all laughing in the ring as the Lethal Lockdown roof drops to the cage and the weapons come into play.

The four on three numbers game on already weakened opponents did not take long to take their toll. Shamrock and Storm were soon bleeding thanks to weapons use and team captain Christian Cage sealed the win in 20:54 when Christian Cage defeated ‘Cowboy’ James Storm by pinfall with an Unprettier. C+

Cody Rhodes is seen backstage again, where this time he is seen attacking Paul London. London becomes the second man Rhodes lays out tonight. C-

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRDBMSQ0_iTO7VvB3vnNp1PvZHbryqaECz942G_joAC98-E16CZHA

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Jamie Noble (champion) v Rey Mysterio Jr

A great match and keenly fought between a popular and arguably one of the most exciting wrestlers around and a gritty, dogged champion. Mysterio was close to winning the title a few times, but Noble clung on and was relieved when he was able to close out the match in 18:27 by submission with a Guillotine Choke. Jamie Noble makes defence number 2 of his TNA X Division title. B-

I QUIT MATCH

Abyss v Mick Foley

Foley still showed some rustiness here and the match was a bit disappointing, despite the fact that with Brock Lesnar having earlier ripped the cage door off, both Abyss and Foley were free to fight outside the cage too and utilise any weapons they wished. And they did with everything from steel chairs to cheese graters to barbed wire to thousands of thumb tacks. The match needed to be shorter given who was involved and it ended in 19:36 when Foley forced Abyss to say “I quit” when he locked in a Mandible Claw with his hand wrapped in barbed wire. C-

As we wait for the main event between Caprice Coleman and Brother Ray to commence, Tenay and Potter run us through the Tale Of The Tape. C

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR4N6gyLzDPnCapplclKEvJJjco-cpvXj8HlHp2mcni0WGsjj3T

TNA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

ESCAPE ONLY

Caprice Coleman (champion) v Brother Ray

Coleman was considered to have an advantage going into this match when it was made escape only, but Brock Lesnar ripping off the cage door earlier has made it a lot easier for Ray to leave the cage through the door, and this was a factor in the match that Ray tried to use to his full advantage, looking to escape this way on a number of occasions, while Coleman, much quicker, preferred to use the aerial route over the top.

The pivotal moment in a great match came when Coleman hit Thermal Shock from the top of the cage. This allowed him to make a successful defence of his belt in 24:21 when Caprice Coleman escaped the cage. Caprice Coleman makes defence number 2 of his TNA Heavyweight title. B

Show rating: C+

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA’s popularity.

Some of the angles did not reach the standard of the ring action.

Shawn Daivari was used too much.

Attendance: 8223

Buy rate: 0.86

A good opening match up went the way of the cocky and arrogant newcomers. Their win didn’t come easily, but looking at how they conducted themselves in the ring you would think it had without watching the contest. Sanders and Money gave them plenty of trouble but the finish came in 8:28 when Maven defeated EZ Money by pinfall with a Crossbody Block. C+

USA I (Steve Corino)

A match high in quality and despite two American teams competing against each other, the crowd were firmly behind Steve Corino. Their wave of support carried Corino onwards towards a victory in 7:42 by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion. B-

John Layfield and Rey Mysterio Jr are in the office of the TNA Director of Authority. Dusty Rhodes is sitting behind his desk and says he has an Ultimate Sacrifice match in line for Sacrifice but he needs competitors. He says four men will put a sacrifice on the line and if they are the loser in the match, they have to make that sacrifice. The winner of the match will get a Heavyweight Championship match at Slammiversary IV. Rey immediately states he will sacrifice his mask to be in the match. Rhodes responds by saying Mysterio is in. Layfield thinks for a moment, before putting forward that he will give the fans in attendance at Sacrifice a share of $1,000,000 as his sacrifice. Rhodes accepts and puts Layfield in, and as if people didn’t want Layfield to lose before, they now have a million reasons to! C+

Steve Corino is being attacked by Cody Rhodes backstage. Seeing the assault, Ken Shamrock comes running in and chases Cody Rhodes off, saving Corino from a serious beating. C-

Brock Lesnar (with Eric Bischoff) v Paul London

Some great action on display, although London only got sporadic offence in. Lesnar dominated the X Division competitor and the expected win duly came in 5:38 by pinfall with a Tornado Face Slam. B-

Los Guerreros attack Roderick Strong backstage, and leave him down and out. C+

TNA TV TITLE

Kishi (champion) v Chavo Guerrero Jr

Probably the best match in Kishi’s championship reign of around a month, the contrasting styles complemented each other well with each wrestler playing off each other’s moves and style. Kishi managed to out power Chavo in the end, retaining his title in 10:35 by pinfall with a Rump Shaker. Kishi makes defence number 4 of his TNA TV title. B-

Yoshihiro Tajiri getting coffee backstage. Out of nowhere, Abyss attacks. The assault is quick and brutal, and leaves Tajiri completely destroyed and coffee spilt on the floor. Somebody had better get the wet floor sign out. Where there’s blame, there’s a claim. C+

Dusty Rhodes is seen in his office again, where he announces that the former Tag Team Champions, AK-47 will take on the current champions T N A at Sacrifice. C+

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS BATTLE ROYAL

PARTICIPANTS: Al Snow, ‘Big Black Love Muscle’ Monty Brown, Christian Cage, ‘Cowboy’ James Storm, Eddie Guerrero, Goldust, Jerry Lynn, Mick Foley, ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris & William Regal

An intense and pressure filled battle royal with so much at stake. Eddie and Regal squared off against each, fresh off their tag team battle at Lockdown and they ended up eliminating themselves. There was a brief America’s Most Wanted reunion which left the fans wanted more, when Storm and Harris teamed up on Goldust. The heels dominated the match though, with Snow, Lynn, Cage and Goldust all scoring one elimination each, leaving Christian Cage, Jerry Lynn, Goldust and Al Snow, with Jerry Lynn being the final elimination courtesy of Christian Cage in 18:14. Foley was off his game and is still showing ring rust. Cage gets the championship match at Sacrifice. C+

Show rating: C+

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA’s overall popularity.

Attendance: 3728

Loss: $79,487 (new TNA record)
