<strong>Impact</strong></p><p>

Saturday, week 1, November 2003</p><p>

Trojan Arena, Troy, AL.</p><p>

Live on Spike TV.</p><p> </p><p>

Jeff Jarrett is in the ring, taunting Ultimate Warrior on the microphone calling him yellow as he only appears when the lights go out. The lights stay on, but again the voice booms through the arena.</p><p>

HE'S HERE</p><p>

Warrior sprints down the aisle like the old days and into the ring. He attacks Jarrett, who quickly retreats. He roars that he will see him at Turning Point. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Air Paris attacks Paul London backstage, then stomps on his body before leaving. Laughing is heard in the background but it is not apparant from whom. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SIX MAN TAG</strong></p><p><strong>

America's Most Wanted v Latin American Exchange</strong></p><p>

A good opening bout and probably a little better than what was expected given that some involved are not (yet?) accomplished TNA stars. AWM used their experience to dictate the pace of the match but they struggled to cope with the strong Hernandez, who again proved to be the difference. His power and unusual agility for a man his size tipped the match in the favour of LAX who gained the win in 11:30 when Hernandez defeated 'Cowboy' James Storm by pinfall with a Dominator. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Alex Wright, Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell and Roger Bagwell are backstage in their new ring gear having a dance off before dancing together in some suggestive positions. The three are having a good time but at the end, Buff sits down with Roger and says that while on a personal level, he loves him and he is the happiest he has been in his whole life, on a professional level he feels that Roger being his manager isn't working. He suggests Roger manages Alex instead. Alex is delighted, Roger very disappointed and says he wants time to think about it. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

American Dragon is backstage, laughing at Paul London's injuries from earlier in the night and when he had him locked in Arms Across America last week. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jose Maximo v Mr Wrestling IV</strong></p><p>

A very good match and a pleasant surprise. On the evidence of this, Jose will make it is as a singles star in TNA and will not miss his brother. This was a good example of modern day wrestling with a fast pace and technical elements. Maximo emerged on top in 9:42 by pinfall with a Maximo Explosion. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Mr Wrestling IV is recovering in the ring following the match when some familiar music plays...</p><p>

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At9i2s0xTcs?fs=1&hl=en_GB" rel="external nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At9i2s0xTcs?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param</a> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At9i2s0xTcs?fs=1&hl=en_GB" rel="external nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At9i2s0xTcs?fs=1&hl=en_GB"</a> type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></p><p>

Abyss marches to the ring. The Monster is back on Impact. He climbs into the ring. IV doesn't back down but Abyss just destroys him, nailing a Black Hole Slam. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Eric Bischoff is walking backstage when he see's Miller and Steiner arguing again about Miller's betrayal of Harley Race and allegiance to Eric Bischoff. Bischoff waits for the arguement to end before calling over Miller to tell him to come to his office later because he has a plan on how to deal with Steiner starting on Explosion. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>TNA TV TITLE</strong></p><p><strong>

Steve Corino v 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown</strong></p><p>

As he makes his way to the ring for the match, Steve Corino announces that as he is the first holder of the TNA TV Title, he decrees that with it being the TV Title it has to be defended on TV every week. His first opponent is Monty Brown. The two put on an acceptable match that lacked excitement with Corino getting the better of Brown in 7:39 by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion. Steve Corino makes defence number 1 of his TNA TV title. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Ken Shamrock comes down to the ring. He takes a microphone and starts talking to the crowd, before eventually getting interupted by Shane Douglas. They have a big argument, going back and forth on the microphone, before things take a violent turn and they start brawling. A whole host of staff hit the ring to break them up, and as they are being pulled apart it is clear a match is going to take place between them. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Paul London is backstage, looking battered, bruised and fed up. He remarks that he feels he needs some guidance, an experienced head to go with his young shoulders. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mike Sanders v Sid Vicious</strong></p><p>

Sid was far stronger in a short match where he made short work of Sanders, triumphing in 5:10 by pinfall with a Powerbomb. The two didn’t click. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Ernest Miller and Shane Douglas run in and attack Sid from behind with chairs, leaving him down and bloodied in the ring. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Dusty Rhodes speaks from an office but presumably his personal one as it is not the TNA one. He says he has his eye on a few of TNA's young stars and soon he will be making a decision as to which one he wants to propel to stardom. <strong>B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jeff Jarrett & Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell v Ultimate Warrior & CM Punk</strong></p><p>

Jarrett and Bagwell beat on Punk two on one at the start of the match before the arena blacks out.</p><p>

HE'S HERE</p><p>

Ultimate Warrior sprints to the ring, goes to town on Jarrett and Bagwell and throws them both out of the ring. The crowd go nuts. It's 1990 all over again!</p><p>

The match settles down where Punk and Warrior seem to be struggling to get along. At least Punk is reluctant, feeling he is not able to trust Warrior considering his past indiscretions with drugs fly completely against Punk's beliefs. Warrior though has had Punk's back so far despite this. Jarrett and Bagwell teamed just fine and started to gain advantage in the match.</p><p>

Punk was on the receiving end but managed to make a hot tag to Warrior who came in and cleaned house. He threw Jarrett to the floor and prepared for his big finish, taking the match in 17:57 when defeating Buff Bagwell by pinfall with a Gorilla Press Slam. Warrior was rusty but it was his first match in five years. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA’s popularity.</p><p>

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Jody Fleisch defeated Abbadon in 5:32 by pinfall with a Phoenix 720 DDT. The crowd were put off by a match between two jobbers. E-

Explosion

Wednesday, week 2, November 2003

Cox Arena, San Diego, CA.

Live on UrbanXtra pay per view.

Sid is backstage, incensed at the sneak attack after his Impact match by Ernest Miller and Shane Douglas. He says he is going to make them pay. B-

Austin Aries v Mr Wrestling IV

If I remember right, this is Aries' TNA pay per view debut and he performed well, almost taking full advantage of the injuries Mr Wrestling suffered at the hands of Abyss a few days ago on Impact. IV managed to pull one out of the bag however in 6:45 by pinfall with a Throat Thrust. C-

Abyss v Paul London

Abyss then came out for his match and went after Mr Wrestling IV who was making his way backstage, only for Paul London bravely (or stupidly depending on your viewpoint) try and cut him off. This only angered the Monster who proceeded to give London a beating. Abyss won a one sided match in 4:10 by pinfall with The Black Hole Slam. C-

A video plays hyping Christopher Daniels' challenge for the X Division Championship at Turning Point. This didn't go down well with the crowd who want to see action. E+

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Desmond Wolfe (champion) v Konnan

They soon got some more action and it was watchable but certainly nothing outstanding. Wolfe makes another solid defence as he controlled the lion's share of the match and earning victory in 11:16 by pinfall with a Guvnor's Crumpet. Desmond Wolfe makes defence number 5 of his TNA X Division title. D+

Little Guido speaks from backstage, telling Eric Bischoff that he would like a chance at the vacated TNA TV Title. Again the crowd prefer some action. E+

HE'S HERE...

Frankie Kazarian v Ultimate Warrior

Warrior continues to try and shake off his ring rust as he overpowers Kazarian in a fairly short match, which reaches a climax in 5:57 by pinfall with a Gorilla Press Slam. D+

Ken Shamrock and Rick Steiner are far from impressed about the antics of Shane Douglas and Ernest Miller. They admit at not being surprised at Douglas but are very disappointed that Miller has turned on TNA and it's fans. They finish by saying they don't care who the third man is tonight, they will win regardless. Again the fans aren't bothered. Fickle lot tonight. E+

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Backstreet Boyz (champions) v Ring Wizards

The best action of the night so far in an entertaining match that contained many classic elements of a tag team match. Blind tags, referee distractions, unseen hot tag, hot tag, illegal double teams, it was all in there. Anderson nearly won the Wizards the belts when he hit a Mic Check on Kashmere, only for Kashmere to roll out of the ring. The match concluded in 12:44 when Trent Acid defeated Mike Quackenbush by pinfall with a Backstreets Back. Backstreet Boyz make defence number 11 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. C

Jeff Jarrett has a new air of confidence about him. He says he is now looking forward to his title defence at Turning Point against Ultimate Warrior. The match will take place with the lights on in the arena so Warrior can't play hide and seek with him. Also, what he has seen in Warrior's first two matches back has been nothing special. Warrior is washed up and he will be hung out to dry at Turning Point. C+

Ken Shamrock & Rick Steiner v Eric's Army (Ernest Miller, Shane Douglas & Jose Maximo)

Eric Bischoff introduces Jose Maximo as his newest soldier and he immediately goes to work on Rick Steiner. Shamrock and Steiner make a good account for themselves, despite Steiner not being at his best. However, when Bischoff distracts Rick Steiner late on in the match, Ernest Miller takes full advantage in 13:09 when Ernest Miller defeated Rick Steiner by pinfall with a Thrust Kick. D+

Following the match, cameras follow Miller, Douglas, Maximo and Bischoff into Bischoff's office, who as they start talking, ushers the camera man out. E+

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell v CM Punk

Punk wanted revenge for Buff's interference during his World Championship match at Bound for Glory II. Hence, it was no surprise at all that Punk took it to Bagwell straight from the off including giving him a wedgie with his mankini. Punk's mindset was ultimately his undoing though as Buff used his calmer head to think his way through the match to take it in 15:22 by pinfall with a Buff Blockbuster. After the match he got a mic and told Punk that he "won clean". C+

Harley Race speaks from home. He says he is bitterly disappointed at Ernest Miller's betrayal but promises that some time, some day, he will get his revenge for Miller costing him a job he loved doing. C

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Jeff Jarrett (champion) v 'Wildcat' Chris Harris (with 'Cowboy' James Storm)

Just before Robert Brisko called for the opening bell, Eric Bischoff's music hit and out walked TNA's authority. He told James Storm that he was not allowed at ringside for this match and if he refused to comply then security would come down, take him away and he would be fired. Storm had no choice but to leave.

Even so, Harris really stepped up and the two put on a good main event. Some had doubts that Harris would be able to compete at this level at this relatively early stage of his career, but compete he did. He gave Jarrett more than he expected and then some, with Jarrett soon realising this would be no routine title defence. Jarrett is a sly old dog though and managed to emerge unscathed in 18:20 by pinfall with The Stroke. Jeff Jarrett makes defence number 16 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. C

Then the lights go out again.

HE'S HERE...

The lights come back on and Ultimate Warrior sprints to the ring. Quickly, Jarrett leaves the ring, runs around it and up the ramp with Warrior chasing as Explosion goes off air. C+

Show rating: C-

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA’s popularity.

Some of the angles didn't reach the standard of the matches.

Ultimate Warrior has got in Jeff Jarrett's head and is continually getting the upper hand. Jarrett does have a point however when he says that it is because the lights keep going out in the arena. Will things change this week?</p><p>

Paul London has put himself in the shop window requesting a manager while Dusty Rhodes has said he wants another youngster with talent to tutor. Is this a pairing that is viable?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Impact</strong></p><p>

Saturday, week 2, November 2003</p><p>

Asbury Park Convention Hall, Asbury Park, NJ.</p><p>

Live on Spike TV.</p><p> </p><p>

Eric Bischoff takes centre ring to start Impact, holding the TNA TV Title. He expresses his sadness that such a fine champion as Steve Corino is injured and cannot defend such a presitigious title and wishes him well in his recovery. However, he says that TNA has to have a new champion. He has signed for tonight a six man ladder match to crown a new champion with the competitors being Air Paris, Desmond Wolfe, Jose Maximo, Little Guido, Paul London and Tony Mamaluke. He says that his pick to win is Jose Maximo and he knows he won't be disappointed. <strong>B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A music video is shown highlighting the Tag Team Championship reign of Backstreet Boyz. <strong>B+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Abyss v Devon Storm</strong></p><p>

The opening bout is a disappointing affair where the Monster largely dominated his much smaller opponent, taking the duke in 4:57 by pinfall with The Black Hole. <strong>D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Roger Bagwell is in the ring holding a swimwear contest with Alex Wright being a stereotypical German and wearing a pair of tight speedos and Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell in his lime green mankini. Roger declares Alex as the winner, much to the disappointment of his husband Buff. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Shane Douglas cuts a backstage promo addressing his Turning Point match with Ken Shamrock. He says he is fighting for Eric Bischoff and that Ken Shamrock is one of the men in TNA that he needs dealing with. He will be dealt with at Turning Point. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Backstreet Boyz (champions) v Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Jorge Estrada)</strong></p><p>

Hernandez has been on a rise in TNA of late and his impressive form continued in a match that was far better and a world away from the tepid opener of tonight. Despite Hernandez's strong performance, the champions were still able to pull through thanks to some slick teamwork and evasive moves. They defended in 6:46 when Johnny Kashmere defeated Hernandez by pinfall with a Backstreets Back. Backstreet Boyz make defence number 12 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Sid Vicious hisses backstage that he wants to disarm Eric Bischoff and start by taking out one of his soldiers at Turning Point. Given Shane Douglas and Ernest Miller already have matches, that means you Jose Maximo as his eyes bulge... <strong>B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Jeff Jarrett then speaks from his locker room where he implores Ultimate Warrior to stop using the arena lights going out as a platform to get the upper hand. He tells him to "man up" and face him like a man or does he know he will get embarrassed at Turning Point? <strong>B-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>TNA TV TITLE</strong></p><p><strong>

SIX MAN LADDER MATCH</strong></p><p><strong>

Air Paris v Desmond Wolfe v Jose Maximo v Little Guido v v Paul London v Tony Mamaluke</strong></p><p>

A spot fest which for some is great viewing for others not. The crowd in the arena were a little split. It ultimately boiled down to Wolfe and Paris climbing the ladder, fighting on top while trying to reach the belt. Jose Maximo however went underneath the ladder and shook it violently from side to side, causing both men to topple off. This allowed Maximo to climb up and retrieve the belt. Jose Maximo wins the TNA TV title. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The announcers put over that American Dragon v Doug Williams will take place at Turning Point and put the pair over. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage and Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race and Roger Bagwell are talking about Paul London. Rhodes sees London as the next big thing. Race sees him as a way of getting back at Bischoff while Bagwell thinks he is rather good looking and will go well with Alex Wright and Buff Bagwell. The three dispute with each other about who should manage him. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CM Punk v Mr Anderson</strong></p><p>

Despite the two not clicking they still managed to put on a good match. Anderson's stock has been rising in TNA and he was impressive here but he met his match in CM Punk who was slick and out wrestled his opponent. A future TNA World Champion? Almost certainly. He'll definately get another chance at some point. He won here in 10:47 by pinfall with a Pepsi Plunge. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A video plays hyping the Desmond Wolfe vs. Christopher Daniels X Division Championship match at Turning Point. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

American Dragon is walking backstage, turns a corner, and bumps into Mr Wrestling IV. Mr Wrestling IV says something about masks that Dragon doesn't like, and they start arguing. After some heated words, Mr Wrestling IV challenges Dragon to meet him in the ring for a match at some point. Dragon agrees and walks off. <strong>D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Eric's Army (Miller & Douglas, with Eric Bischoff) v Rick Steiner & Sid Vicious</strong></p><p>

When the rules were being adhered to, Steiner and Sid were clearly on top. When. Mickey Jay kept warning Miller and Douglas for frequent rule breaking, but Eric Bischoff warned him that if he disqualified them it would be the last match he would ever referee in TNA. Sid and Steiner were getting their better of their opponents when Jose Maximo came running down the aisle with a steel chair and took out Sid who was standing on the apron. Again, Bischoff told Jay not to disqualify his team. Even with the match now effectively two on one, Eric's Army still cheated to win when in 14:52 when Ernest Miller defeated Rick Steiner by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Following the match, Eric and his Army celebrate in the ring while the crowd boo loudly. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<p>Thanks Kijar. Pick carefully then. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I wish Red was going somewhere in TNA but Jarrett is rather stringent with his conditions to sign people.</p>

<p>Right, right.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm a huge fan of Red, which is why I was mad that he was off Impact for about half a year, and then when he came back they didn't acknowledge that. Instead, he jobbed to Robbie E. Just a shame.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyways, very interesting diary you have going on.</p>

That's a pretty good idea. Didn't even think of that.
