TNA's New Beginnings II

Recommended Posts

Jeff Jarrett speaks out against Sid Vicious. He says he is living in dreamland if he thinks he will become champion. Jarrett says he has a back up plan should the unthinkable happen and things start going wrong. C+

Feast or Fired

Air Paris, American Dragon, Doug Williams, Ernest Miller, Jody Fleisch, Ken Shamrock, Paul London, Shane Douglas, Ultimate Warrior, ???

Paris, Dragon, Williams, Miller, Fleisch, Shamrock, London and Douglas have all made their way into the ring when some familiar music hits...

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw3fFTFsoBo?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw3fFTFsoBo?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Homicide is back in TNA!

The nine start brawling with Eric's Army focusing solely on Ken Shamrock, before the lights go out...

HE'S HERE

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQkzjsp92u0?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQkzjsp92u0?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

He storms the ring and immediately goes after case 3, only to get cut off by Douglas and Miller who leave Shamrock lying on the arena floor. In all the confusion, Jody Fleisch has already climbed and retrieved case number 4 less than a minute after the match has started. Homicide renews old tag team rivalries as he battles with Doug Williams while Paris, Dragon and London have their own mini X Division contest in one portion of the ring as Feast or Fired starts at a frenetic pace.

Things do calm down and as the match goes on London and especially Miller are disappointing although Miller and Douglas time and time again work together to deny Warrior and Shamrock from getting any of the cases.

About nine minutes into the match and Paul London breaks free from battling with Air Paris and climbs to retrive case 3.

The match continues. Eric's Army are constantly a thorn in the sides of Shamrock and Warrior before the two eventually overcome them. Shamrock throws Miller out of the ring with a belly to belly suplex and Warrior hits the Gorilla Press on Douglas. The two then look up and above them is case 1. The two men look at each other and share intense stares with nobody else standing in the ring. The crowd are going nuts and just as they are about to trade blows, American Dragon nips by, climbs up and takes case 1 like a thief in the night. Shamrock and Warrior are livid but Dragon escapes and Shamrock and Warrior are blindsided by Eric's Army and Homicide.

Doug Williams and Air Paris are the other two remaining competitors. Homicide and Williams end up brawling up the ramp while Shane Douglas hits a Franchiser on Shamrock. With Paris out of it courtesy of Warrior, Miller holds off Warrior long enough to retrive the final case remaining, number 2 in 18:44. Douglas and Miller celebrate as Shamrock and Warrior look crestfallen in the ring.

Potter is standing on the ramp with the other caseholders and Douglas joins them. Potter tells Jody Fleisch that as he was the first to retrieve a case, he is to open his case first. Fleisch steps up to the podium...

...

JODY FLEISCH IS FIRED!

Potter consoles Fleisch who is torn apart. Quick as a flash he got a case and quick as a flash he is fired. He then invites Paul London to the podium...

...

PAUL LONDON HAS A X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP SHOT

Tension builds. Next up is American Dragon who pretty much stole case 1 from Shamrock and Warrior. He opens...

...

AMERICAN DRAGON HAS A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SHOT!

Shane Douglas then confirms what everybody knows when he opens his case. SHANE DOUGLAS HAS A TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP SHOT. C-

Before the main event Mike Tenay, Don West and Potter run through the tale of the tape. C+

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Jeff Jarrett (champion) v Sid Vicious

Even though this featured some great action and had great heat from the crowd, it somehow proved to be a disappointment. Jarrett called upon his years of experience and ring savvy to combat Sid as much as he could, but he couldn't do it for ever. Sid perservered for once in his life and gradually wore down Jarrett. After about twenty minutes and with Jarrett in trouble, Eric Bischoff came to the ring. He had a word with the ring announcer who promptly announced that this match was now no disqualification. Jarrett failed to mount a comeback despite Eric Bischoff handing him a guitar. Sid simply grabbed the guitar and threw it back out to ringside. Bischoff then grabbed himself a steel chair and after Sid had hit a big boot on Jarrett, climbed into the ring. He blasted Sid in the back with it. Sid just turned round, punched Bischoff in the jaw and threw him out of the ring. He picks up a barely conscious Jarrett... BOOM, a thunderous powerbomb after 23:25. New champion! D+

Having won the title, Sid celebrates in the ring, holding the belt high aloft. C+

PREDICTION COMPETITION

Very close this month...

BHK - 9

Kijar - 8

JayR - 8

Rob - 8

Michigan Hero - 9

Well done to BHK and Michigan Hero who both got 9. Your prize is to name Sid's opponent at Genesis, the January pay per view. PM me your choice... we may have ourselves a three way or if you both pick the same it will be a one on one.

A point to note... Rob's score of 8 included three correct in Feast or Fired... however he didn't pick any cases for each of the wrestlers he named. Who knows, he might have won if he had done so...

Thanks guys.

Sid doesn't have a title clause in his contract. He is however my most over guy in TNA, more so than Jarrett now and Jarrett has had 10 months with the belt.

Just spent about 3 hours planning all the way up to Genesis which is in a month's time. I also have had a superb idea which if all goes to plan will happen in 2-3 months.

Impact Preview

It's the final show of 2003 and Sid Vicious is the new World Champion. Jeff Jarrett isn't happy at losing the title while Eric Bischoff is very unhappy Sid is the champion. What do the two of them have in store for Sid?

Feast or Fired brought up some surprises with neither Ken Shamrock nor Ultimate Warrior retriving a case. American Dragon pretty much stole the case from under their noses. Will there be reprecussions?

Another surprise was the return of Homicide. Is he flying solo or is a LAX reunion on the cards?

Tune in to Spike TV to see what transpires.

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Trent Acid defeated EZ Money in 5:39 by pinfall with an Acid Bomb. D+

Impact

Saturday, week 4, December 2003

Von Braun Center, Hunstville, AL.

Live on Spike TV

Eric Bischoff is in the ring and calls out the new NWA TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Sid Vicious. Sid strides down to the ring but while he does so, Bischoff says that if he does so much as touch him, then he won't just strip him of the title but he will fire him. Sid gets in the ring and towers over Bischoff. Bischoff says that Christmas Feast was all going very well and Bischoff was all set to have a very Merry Christmas only for Sid to spoil everything. By winning the title, Sid ruined his Christmas, so Bischoff tells Sid he is going to ensure that Sid does not have a Happy New Year. Tonight Sid will defend the belt against one of Eric's Army. Sid is seething... but there is nothing he can do about it. C+

Homicide comes to the ring. He calls out his former partner Hernandez. Hernandez comes to the ring and Homicide says "what's up hombre". He asks Hernandez if they want to pick up where they left off and Hernandez has no hesitation in making the LAX sign. The original Latin American Exchange are back in business. D

Robert Roode v Rocky Romero

A solid opener pits the returning Romero against the stalwart of sorts, Roode. Roode may have been in TNA since day one but while others have seen their careers rise like never before, Roode has stayed at the lower echelons of the company. This match won't help him either as he lost in 6:05 by submission with a Diablo Armbar. D+

American Dragon is backstage celebrating the fact that he retrieved the World Championship case at Christmas Feast. He refuses to reveal when he will cash in other than saying "when the time is right". One thing he does reveal though is that he has a backstage advisor... Eric Bischoff. Bischoff is a busy man these days! C

We then cut to Bischoff himself who is with Desmond Wolfe in his office. He tells Wolfe that the X Division needs an injection of excitement so he has signed a four way at Explosion where Wolfe will defend against Christopher Daniels, Devon Storm and Vampiro. Wolfe isn't happy. C+

America's Most Wanted v Austin Aries and Mike Quackenbush

Aries and Quack teamed together well here and surprised a lot of people with how far they managed to push AMW in this match, making a very good account of themselves. AMW are too good and too experienced for them at this stage though and took the bout in 7:18 when 'Cowboy' James Storm defeated Austin Aries by pinfall with a Death Sentence. D+

CM Punk is in the ring with a microphone and cuts a promo against Abyss for stopping his mission on cleaning up TNA. Before he finishes, an erie video messege plays hyping the coming of Abyss. CM Punk freezes on the stage as a purple light shines on him, and he is attacked from behind by Abyss who throws him off the stage and through two tables. Punk lies motionless on the floor as Abyss stands above him and roars. C

Paul London is backstage with Feast or Fired case 3 and hypes himself as a future X Division champion and revels in the fact that some of the best managers in the business are squabbling about who should manage him. C

Devon Storm v Vampiro

A decent enough match and a taster of what will come on Explosion. The match had an edge to it with both men portraying dark characters, one well liked by the fans and one despised. It was the fan favourite who prevailed here in 10:34 by pinfall with a Mind Bender. C-

Sid Vicious is backstage and Ken Shamrock approaches him. He congratulates Sid on his win at Christmas Feast and expresses his pleasure that he put one over Bischoff in the process. He says how he was robbed in Feast or Fired but he knows Sid is a competitor and will do the right think. Shamrock tells Sid he would like a shot at the gold. Sid thanks Shamrock and says he is right. Sid is a competitor and he will see him at Genesis. C

Eric Bischoff comes out to the stage and has his Army in tow. He warns TNA that playtime is over and now they mean business. People like Sid, Shamrock, Warrior and Steiner will need to watch their backs twenty four seven as the Army look to eliminate the enemy. They will start with Rick Steiner as Bischoff tells him to find a partner as at Genesis Steiner and his partner will face all three of my soldiers. C

TNA TV TITLE

Jose Maximo v Johnny Kashmere

A good match between a current champion and a past tag team champion. What was also pleasing was there was no interference either from any of Eric's Army or Kashmere's tag team partner. Maximo's recent experience in singles competition over Kashmere's tag team experience helped him to prevail in 12:31 by pinfall with a Maximo Explosion. Jose Maximo makes defence number 6 of his TNA TV title. C-

Ultimate Warrior shouts a lot backstage where he blames American Dragon for stealing his rightful chance to get the NWA TNA World Championship. He tells Dragon he will extract revenge from him at Genesis and challenges him to put up his briefcase and prove he is a better man. C-

Jeff Jarrett is backstage where he complains about being robbed of the World Championship at Christmas Feast. He says that in everybody's mind he is still the World Champion and that Sid is a fake champion. He activates his rematch clause for Explosion. 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown passes by and remarks to Jarrett that the better man won this past Sunday. This enrages Jarrett and the two scuffle in the hallway. C

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Sid Vicious v One of Eric's Army

Sid is in the ring beckoning his opponent to come to the ring...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jObCu4j4ax0?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jObCu4j4ax0?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Sid meets him in the aisle and the two start brawling as Robert Brisko calls for the bell to start the match. Sid gets the upper hand, drags him to the ring and pulverises him for a good three minutes before Miller is able to get any offence in.

As the match wears on, Sid gets tired but remains on top for the most part. Eric Bischoff comes down to ring and distracts Sid which allows Miller to climb the turnbuckles and hit a stiff kick to the back of Sid's head, dropping the big man. Robert Brisko then does the unthinkable and sends Bischoff to the back! Bischoff is having none of it and says that if he goes to the back then Brisko goes for good. Brisko stands up to Bischoff by saying that the referees have had enough with Bischoff stopping them from doing their job and if Bischoff fires him then they all go... and if Bischoff doesn't go to the back then Brisko will resign and all the other referees will follow him! Bischoff is left with no choice and leaves.

This leaves it one on one again and while Miller makes the most of Bischoff's distraction, Sid fights back and powers his way to the win in 16:01 by pinfall after a Power Bomb. Sid Vicious makes defence number 1 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. C-

After the match an enraged Eric Bischoff comes back to the ring and warns Sid that while he may have won tonight, this is just the start. He tells him that next week he will defend against another soldier and as he finishes his sentence, Shane Douglas sneaks in the ring with a steel chair and blasts Sid in the back with it. Douglas stands over a fallen Sid and holds up the chair as Impact goes off air. C

surprised not to see former long-time Champ Jarrett or the current TNA champ in the Power 100 -- and sad to see no Bagwell either as he was the most "over" among the fans here, lol. There are a few names scattered in the list that would make good additions in the new year (such as Al Snow - would be an excellent trainer for the young guys you are bringing up in the ranks if you were able to steal him away).

I have to say besides Bryan Danielson, I am shocked that the rest of those wrestlers made the list. Like you said, I would have thought that some of the bigger names in TNA would have made that list.

I guess it gives you a good measuring stick as to who you should push.
